"I'm astounded to say the least."

"You pussies lost 10-6 to .....Democratic States of Fenbar, you know when it takes 4 words, and longer than four seconds to say a nations name that their team sucks. I mean come on, Eura shortened their name for that very reason."

"After that first explosion in game 1 i thought you guys could do it again, boy was i surprised..."

"That was some piss poor effort..."

"So i've decided that training this week will be a boatload of different running and suicidal exercises..."

"You better run your asses off..."

"And we mean it..."

"Now on my whistle..."

"If the kicker's the only one who can score for you, you are gonna have a bad day guys..."

"Endline to endline now..."

"Run damnit..."

Hurricanes still searching for first taste of victory

TSE doesn't have an established team.

Heck, it isn't even respected right now. With an overall record of 0-8, they are possibly the worst team in the world. They are ranked last (at 0 ranking points). So what has gone wrong so far? That's anyone's guess. Let's go through a short history of TSE football:

Baptism of Iron 13:
1. Loss to United Warrisons 20-46
This country ceased to exist before the tournament even began. So this game (and the reverse matchup) were insulting. This game was the highest scoring game in TSE history. With 20 points, things were looking up in a way, but the defense needed work.

2. Loss at The Serbian Empire 17-30
This game was publicized as "The battle of the TSE's". The Sovan side was overly optimistic, as the Serbs beat them 17-30. It was closer that the Warrison game, but the troubled team still saw big problems.

3. Loss to West Angola 0-24
The home offense was half-asleep that day, or at least that's what it looked like. TSE was shut out 0-24 and started the Baptism of Iron at 0-3. They hoped they could get a break in the next match, where they re-matched the Warrisons.

4. Loss at United Warrisons 17-30
Coincidentally, another 17-30 score fell against TSE. This was the first time that the Sovans realized that their program was not in shape, and that they'd be in trouble in the future. 2 losses to a country that ceased to exist was not something the people at home were happy about.

5. Loss to The Serbian Empire 7-55
The Serbian Empire would go on to win the group, as they steamrolled the home Hurricanes by a score of 7-55. It was an embarrassment. The teams were supposed to be on even ground, but it seemed a little one-sided by the time the final whistle blew.

6. Loss at West Angola 7-44
TSE had lost all hope by this point, and it showed. West Angola ensured that TSE would be winless in the Baptism of Iron in an impressive offensive performance by West Angola. With only 11 points per game, TSE was really in trouble for the 20th World Bowl.

World Bowl:
7. Loss at Allamunnic States 0-37
TSE couldn't believe their terrible luck. The last place Hurricanes had to face the 1st-ranked Allamunnic States. TSE just tried to survive, as the top-of-the-world team came out in impressive fashion and shut out the Sovans.

8. Loss to West Angola 0-7
TSE was surprised to see their BoI group-mates again, and this time they were ready. The defense gave up the least amount of points, but it was without any merit as the offense never scored. TSE became only the 2nd team this World Bowl to go pointless in the first 2 games.

Frank Eleanor is on fire

Postby Free South Califas » Tue Apr 16, 2013 3:42 pm

Guns blazing, the Federal Team are off to a hot start in World Bowl XX, going 1-1 but already scoring 50 points. The old offensive stars are at it again, with starting quarterback Frank Eleanor still in hot form fresh off a second FGL championship and an IGCL knockout-stage drive with Sunset Cliffs of coastal San Diego City, and halfback Ane Santos running better than her Long Beach domestic club. Eleanor has thrown 46-71 for five touchdowns in the two opening games, accounting for all of the touchdown scoring other than PATs, while Santos has eaten up 461 yards for an uncharacteristically busy Federal Team attack. Pundits have also praised the team's offensive line, and the South Califas shutout in yesterday's 26-0 rout of Gaveo shows a marked improvement in defense over expectations heading into this campaign. However, much remains to be seen in even the group stage of WBXX.

YARRRR: "Yeah! And that's another TD!"
Guest 1992: "Oh man, am I looking at a different team here..."
Alaran: "You're not going to expect this, but Yeso is not eating their opponent for breakfast this time"
Garagun: "If they lose this one... and we win... we're both on 2-1. When they beat us 46-3. Wut"
Asmav: "Beach football wasn't a good idea. What's up with these things being on tv at the same time. BF is ahead 5-1 against Mashiki now"
YARRRR: "Not interested."
Asmav: "Dude"

...

Guest 1992: "Hell, 30-6 ahead. Two minutes to go. Can we do this?"
Asmav: "I like how you say two minutes, while everyone knows in Gridiron this means it can still take 15 minutes."
YARRRR: "If you dont like it, you may go"
Asmav: "Whats up with you today?"
YARRRR: "Gridiron!
Yelonur: "And I'm in. What did I miss?"
Alaran: "Just four TDs, two kicks and a FG"
Yelonur: "Damn"

...

Alaran: "Look at Saintland. Just do it."
YARRRR: "67... wow"
Asmav: "Ridiculous."
Garagun: "And we're fourth by the way."
Yelonur: "How about we just start playing consistently... Losing 46-3 to Yeso is bad when you know Thrilledge and FDB are above that level."

Period 1Period 2Period 3Period 4OTTotal
Zeedom10000-10
Stretta671721-51

The mood on the coach coming from the airport was deflated. The players knew that the World Bowl wasn't going to be an easy affair, and the reality of that was beginning to sink in. It doesn't matter if it's a top team or a lower ranked foe that offers the defeat, it still hurts. This mood was evident in the first quarter of play. The Strettan defense was like a plug hole, allowing the Zeedom players to just fall straight on through without any opposition, which was compounded by the offence only managing to get the ball to the 32 and 41 yard lines for field goals.

This is where Stevens used to come in strong, but as his health issues increased, his decibel count decreased. The man that was left still had the passion, but the opposition dressing room could no longer hear his words. "This isn't Darmen! We are not going to get our asses handed to us on a plate here today. You all know this quarter, you have failed. Let's take it to them, and show them what we really are made of!"

It wasn't Stevens job to then proceed on telling them how to do better. That was the co-ordinators' respective jobs. Having faith in your coaching staff was important, and something that he had always advocated. Following the second quarter, the 10-13 scoreline was looking healthier, but the play wasn't. The message sank in the second time, though. Shutting out Zeedom for 3 quarters of play, and putting up 45 points on the board was good going, by anyones standards. Come the first FG and TD of the third, the team had that old confidence back.

"It took some time to get rolling, obviously. We had to find that gap in the defense to exploit, but once we found it, well..." Hodges shook hands with the Zeedom QB, before turning back to the camera to answer the follow-up question. "One game at a time. There are tough opponents in this group, and we probably sit right in the middle of the teams. Our league position reflects that, so we just need to play the next game, and the next, and start getting that percentage up to a point where qualification is inevitable."

"And what about the increased play that Simmonds is seeing?" He looked at the interviewer for a second. It was a perfectly innocent question on the face of it, but what was really being asked was 'are you losing the QB spot?'.

"He's a good player, and brings an extra skill set to the team. If the coach needs him out there, he needs him. That's not my choice. I'll just bring my A-game and carry on doing what I'm doing." The truth was, Simmonds had been plagued by injury in the run-up to the Baptism of Iron, and many thought that taking him to these two international tournaments was a risk. Hodges secretly counted on this. Being a running QB and getting battered each and every game took its toll on a human body. His style of pocket-passing was a staple in football for a reason.

Losing the top QB position was unlikely, but it wouldn't be lost without a fight.

Giroux Enquirer wrote:With the third match in the World Bowl completed for all teams, Stretta find themselves mid-table after a 51-10 victory over Zeedom. Looking ahead, the next match will potentially be the most challenging for the team. Sitting at the top of Group 8 is Bongo Johnson, currently undefeated with a 1.000 record, and a lot of fans will be expecting a loss. With 5th place Fenbar facing almost certain defeat by Darmen, and Zomni facing Levivania, there is still a chance to remain in the top half of the table (assuming a low-scoring game in the Zomni-Levivania match), a position that many within the organisation will be happy with at this stage.

The importance of confidence leading into matches is not to be underestimated. Any coach will tell you this. While losing matches is tough, the league will surely offer some respite during these losses.

Defense Dominating as Fire Ponies Improve to 3-0

After starting the World Bowl 20 campaign with a decisive 34-0 shutout of Sibirsky, the Equestrian States is looking better defensively then it ever has before. Three games in and still the Fire Ponies have yet to surrender so much as a field goal. With a number of strong offenses in Group 1, the shutout streak is unlikely to last much longer. However, the displays of defensive prowess put together by the Equestrians have turned heads around the world.

In the Fire Ponies' second group stage game against, the defense truly was everything, making up for the less-than-mediocre performance of the offense. Throughout the game, the Equestrians allowed just 164 yards of total offense, only 18 of which were on the ground. The defense not only provided the stops it needed to, but also some of the scoring. Knocking the ball loose of the Ironite quarterback's grasp, linedragon Garble scooped up the fumble at the Ironite 5-yard line and paraded the ball into the end-zone for an easy touchdown. Combined with a Blackstone 28 yard field goal, the Equestrians hardly needed the offense to cruise by their outmatched opponents by a final score of 10-0.

The Equestrian States’ next game pitted them against unranked and unpronounceable Gzbfernigambia at home in Canterlot. As many expected, it was a complete rout for the Fire Ponies, who casually demolished their inept opposition with only partial effort. On the offensive side of the ball, things seemed to be clicking again after a dismal showing in Ironite that yielded only a field goal from the offense. Lightning Bolt and Xenith struck early, hammering through the visitors’ defensive line as if it was made of paper to give the Equestrian States a reasonable 14-0 lead after just two possessions. Minutes into the second quarter, the Fire Ponies would extend their lead with a 36-yard touchdown reception by Hoops. With a 21-point lead, Head Coach Crafty Crate again delved into his bench throughout the final two quarters, the backups setting up the final blow against the long-named visitors in the form of a 43-yarder.

With the defense decimating every team it has faced thus far, many fans have come to expect lower-scoring games from the Fire Ponies, which has certainly rung true if you look at scores from around the other World Bowl groups. However, attendance has been less than perfect thus far for the Equestrians, which can be attributed to a number of key causes. First, the old saying that defense wins championships may very well be true, but low-scoring affairs generally don’t sell tickets in the Equestrian States, where high-paced attacks are a staple in many of the nation’s sports teams. Second, the success of the national hoofball team in finally qualifying for the World Cup has cast a long and dark shadow over the even greater feats being accomplished by the gridiron team here in the World Bowl. Fans might value on-field triumphs like those of the Fire Ponies, but gridiron is far from contending with the sheer level of popular support for hoofball.

*Chad and JR are seen paragliding to a large black tower*

Chad: Dude, you sure this is where the power source the wizard was talking about is located?

JR: If this map is correct, then yes.

Chad: Right then bro, lets get this one, then find the other 14 power sources.

*the two high five each other*

It's The Angry Billy Show!

Billy: Hey there peoples, those two idiots have yet to pop up, so welcome back to The Angry Billy Show! Where I tell you what I liked, and what I HATED about this week of football.

Liked:

* The Rams won again against Sibirsky 26-17, keeping their winning streak going.

* Of all the groups in this WB, group one is the only group that still has 3 undefeated teams. I suppose it's only right that the Rams get put in the best group of this WB so far, who continues to score more points than any other group so far.

* The defense proved it's worth with a late 4th quarter stop against Sibirsky. Who were gunning for the upset but fell one INT return for a touchdown short of possibly winning.

HATED!:

*It just gets tougher from here, with games against Cyborg and E.S looming near by, the Rams will have their first serious test of this WB

* The fact that it was close was the worst, the Rams need to stiffen up the defense more if they want to go undefeated again.

* Saintland had a huge game, and are now only 4 points away from scoring more than us, and that's no good.

Billy: That's all the time I have for today, tune in next time for The Angry Billy Show!

Subramani Hammered by Cosumar

Period 1Period 2Period 3Period 4OTTotal

Subramani0000-0

Subramani was hammered by a 9th ranked team in the world Cosumar and was not even able to score a single point in the third game of the World Bowl and conceded 44 points. Thus Subramani suffered its first defeat after two wins, and they were shown how much the team is lacking when compared to other world class teams. We could only hope that this defeat wouldn’t demoralize the team and the team would continue to fight valiantly in future matches.

World Bowl 20: MD1-Questions and Answers

So, it had been a great WB Opener for Quebec. And there has been many questions raised before that are about the team and players. Let's check them:

1) Yes. Jacques Kulitak, the Torres Trophy winner for the most valuable player 3 years ago, is going to start for the match. While Kulitak's known to be a very good runner with a huge firepower on the O-Line, he tended to be quite unreliable in cases, allowing several interceptions and fumbles. Will he able to overcome his inconsistency and show what he's made of?

He played very well, scoring 3 TDs in what was the 35-point first half before Luc Arvineau took over, after halftime. Fortunately, he did not allow interceptions or fumbles, so that's a good way to start his Journey to World Bowl. He's surely the one of the kind, as passing game and hybrid gradually becomes more dominant in the QFL.

2) The team heads off to the nation with largely same defense. While they were great in many times during the last tournament, they nevertheless allowed too much TDs and passes when needed: An example being a shameful loss against a non-factor Countriopia in MD2. Will it be able to solve its defensive problems?

The defence was so-so. At the first quarter, they seemed unorganised and were nowhere where it should be, as they allowed 20 points in the first ten minutes. This immediately caused Coach Constantin to call a quick break. During the rest of the tournament, they were mostly flawless, as they grinded the opposition into pulp, and the Knights' defense racked record-13 interceptions, while only allowing a FG(which came at the end).

3) After a leg surgery a week before the match, Glenn-Jacques Monighan was questioned by many as whether he's fit to play as a starter. How will he do in the match as the starter?

Monighan was spectacular. He ran for combined 271 yards in the match, scoring 2 touchdowns along the way. The leg surgery didn't affect his performance at all, fortunately.

4) Coaching change has brought some controversy along the way. How did the team do? What happened to their playing style?

It obviously became much more grittier, something that took a heck of an effort for the team because they got used to Jean-Jacques Daigle(the former coach)'s clean way of playing. However, they are still fast, high-scoring and unpredictable. The firepower has remained even stronger, if not at same level as the last tournament.
So far, the team did well in adjusting to new style.

Bonus Information:

On Quebec's Home Opener against the Dominion this Saturday, His Imperial Majesty the Pierre Henri IV, the former emperor of Quebec and the father of current emperor Jacques IX, will be honoured with a banner raised from the Iqaluit Stadium. A huge fan of QFL, he has made significant changes and improvements to the status and structure of the gridiron football in the nation. Serving QFL Commissioner for 17 years(from 1991-2008), his time in the QFL Head Office were marked with increased attendance(from 25,650 per match to 37,120/match within 10 years) and financial success, as well as significant rise in quality marked by generational players such as Andrew Torres, Marius Hall, Gregoire Desjardins, Victor Adelman and many more.
His Imperial Majesty the Jacques IX, will be in attendance and will be speaking on the behalf of the Royal House of Jeongs. No weapons will be allowed and the strictest measure of security regulations will be imposed on the site.

Saintland crushes Euskirribakondara 67 to 10

(SP) Today, the Sanctii offense finally played up to expectations as they confused the Euskirribakondaran defense for 60 minutes. Running a myriad of different offensive schemes in front of a home crowd at Royal Stadium, the Sanctii were just too advanced offensively for their opposition to stop them. Euskirribakondara also struggled to get any rhythm going offensively, although they did pull off a few big plays against the extremely aggressive Sanctii defense. "Today, we ran our offense and we stuck 67 points on our opposition. Euskirribakondara did not stand a chance against us today. Today, we showed what we are capable of when our offense is clicking. Tomorrow, we hope to do the same thing when we visit Sibirsky." - Prince Petrus

This game was lopsided from the start. After the Sanctii defense forced a 3 and out on the first Euskirribakondaran possession of the day, the Sanctii offense took the field. Prince Petrus called pass on the first play and he tossed a long pass to Ioannes Lusius. Lusius ran full speed past the corner that was supposed to be covering him and caught the pass deep downfield. He was already gone, as Lusius just kept running full speed ahead until he reached the end zone. Prince Petrus had tossed a 71-yard touchdown pass to Ioannes Lusius on the first offensive play for the Sanctii in this game. Philippus Francus kicked the extra point, putting his team in front 7 to nothing. On the next possession for Euskirribakondara, Georgius Didius laid a big hit on their quarterback right as he released the ball. His hit changed the trajectory of the pass, sending it into the hands of Matthaeus Publicius. Publicius evaded a few Euskirribakondaran tacklers on his interception return and soon he had returned it inside the 10. As he was about to be tackled from behind by a wide receiver, he lateraled the ball to Georgius Didius, who had kept moving downfield along with Publicius. Didius caught the lateral and ran into the end zone. This time, Prince Petrus decided to run an option play from the I for a 2-point conversion. He decided against giving it to Ancharius and rolled out to the left. Prince Petrus saw daylight ahead and he ran into it. He was tackled unexpectedly by a defender as he approached the goal line, but the ball broke the plane as he was heading to the ground. The referee raised both arms, signalling a 2-point conversion. Saintland led 15 to 0 and less than 5 minutes had passed in the game.

Euskirribakondara got a few first downs on their next possession, as the Sanctii defense got overly aggressive. However, the Sanctii forced a punt just shy of midfield. It was a deep punt that would be downed at the 3 yard line. Taking the field in the single back formation, Prince Petrus decided to hand the ball off to Andreas Tuccius and grind out this possession. Tuccius ran for 3 yards on first down and another 3 yards on 2nd down. On 3rd and 4 from the 9, Prince Petrus decided to go with Tuccius again. This time, Tuccius ran for 5 yards. After securing a first down, Prince Petrus decided to call a play action designed QB run. The Eusbarribakondaran defense bought the fake and Prince Petrus rolled out to the right. Soon, he was gone into their secondary and would be pushed out of bounds after a gain of over 20 yards. On the next play, Prince Petrus called a 4-wide formation. He found Thomas Lusius on a short route across the middle of the field. Lusius caught the pass and picked up substantial yards after the catch. He would be brought down at midfield. On the next play, Prince Petrus decided to run a draw out of the 4-wide set. Andreas Tuccius took the handoff and caught the Eusbarribakondarans off-guard. He ran off-guard through a gaping hole and would be brought down only after a gain of 7 yards. On 2nd and 3, Prince Petrus called a read option out of the shotgun. He ended up running it himself, picking up a dozen more yards. Petrus Maximius came into the game for Andreas Tuccius. Prince Petrus decided to call a screen. The offensive line went out to the right side and Prince Petrus threw a perfect screen. Maximius caught it and picked up a gain of 9 yards. Ancharius came in for 2nd and 1 out of the I formation. Prince Petrus handed the ball to the fullback on a dive right up the middle. Ancharius picked up 3 yards. As the Sanctii entered the red zone, Prince Petrus decided to call play action. He faked the handoff to Maximius and saw Matthaeus Favonius open on a corner route. Favonius caught the pass and his momentum forced him out of bounds at the 3 yard line. On first and goal, Prince Andreas brought Andreas Tuccius back in and handed him the ball. Tuccius ran over a defender and scored a touchdown standing up. Saintland would lead 22 to nothing after the Philippus Francus extra point. That was what the score would remain as the first quarter came to a close.

Early in the 2nd quarter, Euskurribakondara's quarterback threw a pass downfield. Lucius Curtius attempted to jump the route unsuccessfully and the receiver was gone after he caught the pass. Eusbarribakondara had scored, but they still trailed 22 to 7. If there was anybody in the stadium worried that the game would get away from the Sanctii, those worries were quickly addressed. The ensuing kickoff would be returned by Nicolaus Lusius for 105 yards and a touchdown. Francus booted the extra point and Saintland led 29 to 7. A long drive later in the second quarter would result in a 7-yard touchdown pass from Prince Petrus to Thomas Favonius. Right before the half, the Sanctii would add a field goal after their end-of-half drive ran out of time. The score at halftime was the Kingdom of Saintland 39, Euskurribakondara 7. During halftime, Cantus Virginum performed. The group remained popular with the entire crowd. It seems that their newfound popularity in recent days with everybody has continued.

The Sanctii got the ball to start the 3rd quarter. Nicolaus Lusius took a knee on the opening kickoff of the second half. On the first play, Prince Petrus handed off to Tuccius for a 5-yard gain. During the play, a few women ran onto the field and took off their clothes. These were clearly members of Feministvs Sanctvsterra. The referees allowed the play to continue, as they did not interfere with the action on the field. However, following that play, the referee charged the Sanctii with a time out and play was suspended. The members of Feministvs Sanctvsterra streaked around the stadium for a long time. Some of the Sanctii players clearly wanted to tackle them, but Prince Petrus held them back. It would have been foolish to risk injury trying to subdue those illegal protesters.

The game was put on hold for around 30 minutes while the police were called and began to make their way toward the stadium. The entire St. Petrus Police Department soon arrived at Royal Stadium. They beat the Feministvs Sanctvsterra members with their nightsticks, tackled them and beat them some more to cheers from the crowd. The "ladies" were escorted out of Royal Stadium by the police and straight to the nearest courtroom. The SP can confirm that they have been convicted of criminal trespassing, illegal protesting, public nakedness, being members of Feministvs Sanctvsterra, blasphemy, sedition and disturbing the peace, among other crimes. Everybody in the Kingdom can rest assured that they will not be seen outside of a prison cell for a very long time.

The game resumed after the Feministvs Sanctvsterra members were escorted out of Royal Stadium. The Sanctii came out playing much as they had played up to that point. They marched down the field, as Prince Petrus changed offensive schemes seemingly every play. Soon, the Sanctii would have the ball inside the red zone at the 17 yard line. Prince Petrus tossed the ball outside to Petrus Maximius. Maximius took the toss and found an opening. Evading defenders, he scored a touchdown to put his team up 46 to 7. On the ensuing kickoff, the returner for Euskirribakondara broke away as the Sanctii coverage team got out of their lanes. He would be chased down from behind by Adam Lampronius. Euskirribakondara had the ball at the 9 yard line. After a Georgius Didius sack on first down and 2 incompletions on 2nd and 3rd downs, Euskirribakondara settled for a field goal. The score was 46 to 10. The Sanctii came out with more of a ball control scheme as they ran the clock down. With under a minute remaining in the 3rd quarter, Alessandro Ancharius dove across the goal line for a 1-yard touchdown run. The Kingdom of Saintland would lead 53 to 10 after 3 quarters.

Early in the 4th quarter, the Euskirribakondaran quarterback was sacked by Georgius Didius on 3rd and 18. This time, Didius knocked the ball out. David Vargunteius picked the ball up and the giant nose guard rumbled into the end zone. The Kingdom of Saintland now led 60 to 10. After Euskirribakondara picked up a first down on a pass downfield, they were stopped just shy of field goal range. They punted, pinning the Sanctii at the 5 yard line. Prince Petrus executed a long drive to kill the clock. Handing the ball off to his plethora of running backs, Prince Andreas watched as they slowly, but surely, moved the ball down the field. At the Euskirribakondaran 23 yard line, Andreas Tuccius got the handoff. He ran through a linebacker and into the secondary. Running over a safety, he was gone. Tuccius had scored a 23-yard touchdown, putting the Sanctii up 67 to 10 with around 5 minutes to go. After a 3 and out, Prince Petrus just handed the ball off to his backs and watched them run out the clock. The Kingdom of Saintland had won 67 to 10.

When it was all over, the Sanctii had put up 528 yards of total offense and they had not had a single turnover all day long. Prince Petrus had thrown for 292 yards and 2 touchdowns on the day. Andreas Tuccius had carried the ball 34 times for 168 yards and 2 touchdowns. The defense had 11 sacks on the day and countless big hits. It had simply been a dominant performance. Finally, the Sanctii had played up to their potential. The entire Kingdom was undoubtedly wondering where this kind of performance had been during the Baptism of Iron.

The Sanctii now had exclusive possession of 4th place in Group 1. German Zerabithea had held off Sibirsky, winning 26 to 17. Cyborg Holland defeated Ironite 9 to 6. The Equestrian States had picked up a 3rd consecutive shutout, defeating Gzbfernigambia 24 to 0. Cyborg Holland, the Equestrian States and German Zerabithea remain undefeated at 3-0. Tomorrow, the Sanctii play their 3rd road game so far, as they travel to Sibirsky. Meanwhile, an unbeaten will fall as the Equestrian States host Cyborg Holland. Tomorrow's game between the Kingdom of Saintland and Sibirsky will be broadcast live on Royal One. This is another one that the Sanctii need to win in this group.

While the Feministvs Sanctvsterra recruits held up the gridiron game by streaking across Royal Stadium, Agrippina the korfball captain and the other senior members of the organization paid a visit to the Cathedral. All of the Feministvs Sanctvsterra members were female, except for Georgius, who was allowed to go with them while carrying a video camera. It was clearly of foreign origin and had been sent to Feministvs Sanctvsterra by their foreign benefactors. A few of them were carrying musical instruments, also of foreign origin. In total, there were around 2 dozen Feministvs Sanctvsterra members standing outside the Cathedral.

Priest - You're not allowed in here. We aren't holding services right now.

Agrippina - We're coming in here. Don't bother calling the police. Word has it they're preoccupied at the moment.

Priest - This is a house of God.

Iulietta - No, this is the building held most sacred by the Church of Lies.

The priest could not believe his ears.

Priest - Ladies, why do you hate God?

Maria - Your "God" is a Patriarchal oppressor who deprives women of our rights.

Martha - We are women. Hear us roar.

Agrippina - Get out of our way. Its time for Cantvs Feministvs to record our debut album.

The members of Feministvs Sanctvsterra walked into the Cathedral. Nervously, they made their way to the altar.

Iulietta - I think we have around 30 minutes.

Agrippina - We need to get started. We only have 1 take. If we take more than 1 take, the agents of the Patriarchy will catch us.

They began singing. Georgius held the camera as the members of the musical group moved around blasphemously inside the Cathedral. At one point, 2 of them climbed on top of the altar and began making out with one another. At another point during the filming of the video, one of the Feministvs members removed her top, leaving her naked from the waist up. When they had finished, Feministvs Sanctvsterra had a blasphemous video.

When they finished, they walked out the front door of the Cathedral and left the area as quickly as they could. Just minutes later, the police showed up at the Cathedral. They had narrowly escaped being arrested and got on the very next train leaving St. Petrus. They would return to their compound.

It was still too early to release the video, but it was going to be released on Sanctustube, Sanctusfile and numerous foreign hosts once they finished editing it. When Agrippina looked at it, she knew it was perfect.

Agrippina - This is exactly what we wanted. I want to see the look on the Patriarchy's faces when we release this video.

The other members could only agree...

Pow, Zoom, right to the moon... and another win as Qazox, despite playing on the freaking MOON; Defeated Lunar Republic Islands 28-17. It took about a quarter and a half for the Sharks to get used to the reduced gravity, and they were trailing 17-3 at that point. Olive Muadh technically set a World Bowl record with a 79 yard FG, but given the lunar gravity the record will be deemed unoffical. Muadh followed that 79 yarder up with a 71 yarder just before half. Jim Zebow's passing attack was ineffective in the lessened gravity, as most passes sailed yards over receivers heads. But Ian West adjusted the best, rushing for an unoffical team record 321 yards and 3 TDs in the 2nd half. Now 3-0, Qazox heads back home to face 1-2 Catholican Catholica.

Sinsinatti Sun

We can dance if we want to
Get it? Safety dance.

By Jonathan Umadden

The Ironworkers nearly doubled the already impressive 26-0 drubbing they gave Firiminaz last week in their absolute obliteration of Powersith in the Construction Site. The matchup was immediately trouble for the underdogs. After losing the coin toss, being forced into receiving first, and having their kickoff return being forced down at the six yard line, the Sithians were on the wrong end of a safety within a minute a play. Lead Curtain seems to have fully recuperated from the minor concussion he received on opening day, organizing the defense magnificently and allowing both Girder brothers to break the O-line and record the safety-sack. Iron would record a second safety in the first quarter, another in the third, and one more in fourth. Steel recorded his own safeties in the second and third. Boris Keltsin even lumbered his way to the Sithian quarterback in the endzone in the second. That's seven safeties. Two touchdowns worth of points from the defense without even getting to the turnovers! And, of course, giving the offense plenty of time to tear apart the Sithian defense (if you can even call it that). But we'restill not done with the defensive scoring. Brack Harris landed a crushing tackle on the Sithian halfback in the third, sending a fumble flying to Lead Curtain who'd grab it and run fifteen yards back for a touchdown. And in the fourth, Sven Losrav yoinked a can-of-beans pass at the Sithian 37 and ran it back for a touchdown. Keeping track? That's 24 points from the defense.

On the offensive side, Garret Norris was on fire all day. He kept a good spiral and didn't miss a single open receiver. There was a drive in the second where he made six consecutive first-down completions for first downs, culminating in a five-yard pass to Jerry Pasta in the endzone. A drive in the third ended with an interesting play, where Norris started on the thirteen-yard line and passed back to Light Step. The lithe Earth Pony danced all the way home, making the Sithian defense look like a sack of potatoes. Norris spearheaded several other red-zone drives, but was stopped sort-of-short by concerted efforts by the Sithian defense to simply not give him anyone to pass to. Norris has never been much of a scrambler, so with no receivers open for three straight plays, it all came down to Ricketts. Thrice. The veteran recorded a twenty-yard field goal in the first, a thirty-six yarder in the third, and capped of the day with a fifty-two yarder with bare seconds left on the clock. It wasn't necessary, sure, but why not milk it when you can? A 51-0 win helps the point differential more than a 48-0.

Bongo Johnson14007-21

"We've certainly had an upset here tonight, Frank. Bongo Johnson are an established team with ranking points to show for it, and a team that many analysts were expecting to defeat the Strettan side."

"That's the truth, and this will certainly be a booster for the side, if not for the overall league position come match day 14, but the morale." Frank Aordan was a tight end during his playing days, renowned in Stretta for being the best tight end to ever play the domestic league. He now coached college football, which was currently in the offseason, and commentated on the SFL for the National Broadcasting Corporation, currently being beamed into approximately 90 million homes. He could have been a pro-football coach in the SFL if he hadn't taken to playing, which made him an inspiration for many young players.

"Now, going into this game, Bongo Johnson were undefeated and sitting pretty atop of the table, just to put this match into perspective for the viewers at home. Now Stretta are on the road for two games before returning home to face Taeshan, probably the 2nd best team in the group." Normally, a show host would dominate the talking, and the player assisting in the commentating would take a back seat, but Jim Muller knew that when he was across the table from the one and only Frank Aordan, you allowed him to take centre stage.

"Indeed. Unless there are any upsets on the road, Stretta should comfortably win the next two games. Zomni are currently on a .250, and Levivania on a .500. Furthermore, looking at the opponents Stretta have faced already, and where they have played those matches, it's amazing to see that Stretta are undefeated away from home! Add to that the two match winning streak they're on, and you would be forgiven for feeling confident if you were Bobby Stevens, or indeed any of the players or fans."

"Well, that's been Bongo Johnson at Stretta here today, with that final scoreline: 48-21 to Stretta. I've been Jim Muller, with me has been Frank Aordan. From NBC, all the staff here and from us at the All Maiden Complex, we wish you a wonderful evening!"

Pat Kolna had been absent from the Bongo Johnson match. He had watched three men walk into a courtroom, and heard how they had planned an attack on him during the Baptism of Iron in West Guiana.

On his way back from hospital, visiting the head coach, Bobby Stevens, he was jumped by four men and beaten, causing numerous injuries including a broken leg. It was a potentially career ending injury for the punter. Only three had been captured, and they were not revealing the fourth culprit. At the back of the court, Pat was trying to keep a low profile, his cap pulled down over his face, and his glasses still on. This actually made him stand out. "Pat Kolna? I'm Stacy Lowens from the Giroux Enquirer. We didn't expect to see you here today."

"You've got the wrong man, lady." He stood up and moved to a different seat in the court. The reporter followed. "Look, I've got nothing to say. Just report the facts, and leave me be. I want nothing to do with your piece of sh-"

"SILENCE IN THE COURT." Pat had been getting louder and louder. He held his hands up and left the court room, not waiting for Stacy to get out of the way. She was left behind picking up her recorder, ID, notepad and pen from the floor. Apart from his work with Bobby Stevens, which was nothing more than secretarial, he had become something of a recluse. He arrived back at home to a warm beer leftover from the previous evening, and a festering ham baguette.

Was this what his life had become?

Strettan Sports Journal wrote:Looking at the stats put up by Simmonds in his limited playing time, he seems to be making an excellent case to the coaching staff on his position in the team. He saw more snaps in the Bongo Johnson match than in any previous game, scoring 2 of the 6 touchdowns, and securing an impressive 123-yds total offence.

Compared to Hodges 4 TDs and 380-yds, it's not great, but when you consider the number of running plays that Hodges sees compared to Simmonds, you begin to realise why. If the young back-up QB can prove his arm strength and accuracy to the coaches, then we might begin to see more of his talent in the World Bowl this year.

Subramani stuns Califas

Period 1Period 2Period 3Period 4OTTotal
Free South Califas0300-3
Subramani0037-10

Subramani playing their first World Bowl Tournament sprung a major surprise by defeating 17th ranked team Free South Califas in yet another game where Subramani defense came to the fore. Subramani, after the thumping they received in the last match at the hands of Cosumar started slowly this match also. However the defense was determined to not let this team also hammer them with touchdown after touchdown like Cosumar did in the last match. Thus the first period saw see-saw battle go on with neither team able to score a point.

Free South Califas came with even more aggression in the second period, but still Subramani’s defense determined play saw them being able to sore only one field goal. Third period saw Subramani’s defensive skills once again, but their offense was not able to take advantage of it, which meant Subramani was still behind with less than a minute left. With the clock ticking Subramani decided to at least level the score with a field goal, and that is what Anish Kumar did with an accurate Field goal from 55 yards.

With scores level at the end of the third period against such strong team, Subramani came with all guns blazing in the final period. They were able to manage a touchdown and despite some frantic last minute effort from Califas, they denied them any points, and thus came out on top of a strong team, thus giving Subramani their 3rd win in 4th match, keeping them on the third spot in the table.

With this strong victory serving as a tonic, Subramani would be taking on Sicoutimont who are 67th ranked team in the competition. Sicoutimont has won 2 and lost 2 matches so far, and thus this game would be very crucial for Subramani. If their defense is going to play like they played today, and if the attack also scores points at crucial junctures, there is no reason why Subramani would come up with their fourth victory in the next match.

Saintland 31, Sibirsky 14

(SP) The Kingdom of Saintland picked up another win in the World Bowl today. This time, it was a road win in Sibirsky. Today, the Sanctii did not score 67 points, but they did win by a score of 31 to 14. "Today, we won on the road once again. We were in sync again offensively and we put plenty of points on the board. Tomorrow, we will face Ironite. They are a better team than their record would indicate and we are definitely not taking them lightly. Tomorrow's game is the most important game that we have played to this point. We need to win to be in position as we face the 3 toughest teams in this group in 3 consecutive games. If we can continue to beat the teams we should beat and we can pull off an upset or 2 against the big 3, we may be able to sneak into second place if they falter down the stretch." - Prince Petrus

This game opened up with the Kingdom of Saintland receiving the opening kickoff. Nicolaus Lusius took a knee in the end zone to bring the ball out to the 20. Prince Petrus took the field, determined to establish the run. Andreas Tuccius ran up the middle on first down. He picked up a single yard. On second day, Tuccius got the handoff going off-tackle this time. He found a lane and picked up 6. On 3rd and 3, Petrus Maximius came in. Prince Petrus called a draw play and Maximius burst through a gaping hole for a first down and more. He would be brought down after a gain of 11 yards. The Sanctii continued to run the ball and they continued to make first downs on the ground. After a while, they ended up in field goal range with 2nd and 7 at the 25 yard line. Prince Petrus took the snap. He faked a handoff to Tuccius. Looking downfield, he saw Lucius Herius open. He passed to Herius, who caught it and picked up a few yards after the catch. He was finally tackled as he approached the goal line, but as he was going to the ground he reached out toward the goal line and put the ball across the line. The Sanctii had scored a touchdown. Philippus Francus booted an extra point. The score was now 7 to nothing Saintland with 8 and a half minutes to go in the first quarter.

Sibirsky's offense took the field after a Francus kickoff sailed out of the end zone for a touchback. On the first play from scrimmage, the Sanctii went with an aggressive blitz package. Lucas Desticius made a mistake in coverage and his man was gone with no safety help. Sibirsky's quarterback saw the wide-open receiver and passed the ball. Lucius Curtius tried to go across the field and give chase, but he could not get there in time. Sibirsky had tied the game on an 80-yard touchdown on their first play from scrimmage. Prince Petrus took the field and called a pass play. He forced a bad pass to Ioannes Lusius against a zone coverage and it was picked off by a safety. The safety returned it for a touchdown. Sibirsky now led 14 to 7.

Prince Petrus tried to regroup as Sibirsky was kicking the extra point. He could not believe that he had made that mistake, but there was plenty of time remaining on the clock to rectify it. Prince Petrus decided to go with the ground game on the next drive. After a Nicolaus Lusius return to the 16 yard line, Andreas Tuccius got more carries. Tuccius took the handoff on the first play of the drive and burst through the line of scrimmage. Finding daylight, he picked up a dozen yards. Prince Petrus called an option play from the 28. He ended up keeping it, rushing to the 36 yard line before being brought down. On 2nd and 2, Prince Petrus called another option. Alessandro Ancharius got the handoff on this one, picking up 3 yards and a first down. The Sanctii continued to find running room until Tuccius was tackled for a loss on 2nd and 7 to set up 3rd and 11 from the Sibirsky 37 yard line. Prince Petrus knew he had to pass here. He attempted a pass to Matthaeus Favonius, who was open on a corner route, but the tight end caught the pass out-of-bounds. Philippus Francus came on to try the long field goal. The Francus kick was long and it was accurate. It sailed right through the middle of the uprights. Sibirsky's lead had been cut to 14 to 10 and that was where it remained as the first quarter ended.

Sibirsky drove for a few first downs, but they ended up punting near midfield, pinning the Sanctii at their own 7 yard line. Prince Petrus led a drive down the field. This time around, he was mixing runs and passes. The Sanctii drove all the way to the 1-yard line, where they had a first and goal. Tuccius was somehow kept out of the end zone on first down, so Prince Petrus went play action on second down. Prince Petrus rolled out to the left and forced a bad pass intended for Ioannes Lusius. It was intercepted by a Sibirsky linebacker, who purposely stepped out for a touchback. Sibirsky still held onto their 14-10 lead, barely.

As the clock hit the 2 minute warning, Sibirsky was still in the lead. However, the Sanctii had just forced a punt. Prince Petrus came out onto the field determined to execute the 2 minute offense and put his team in the lead before halftime. He did just that, completing pass after pass to work his way down the field. As the clock hit 30 seconds, he completed a sideline pass to Matthaeus Epidius at the 9 yard line. That set up first and goal. On first and goal, Prince Petrus handed off to Petrus Maximius on a draw. Maximius was tackled for a 2 yard loss as Prince Petrus called his team's second time out. On second down, Prince Petrus passed and found Ioannes Oranius on a sideline route shy of the goal line. Oranius was forced out at the 2. On third down, Andreas Tuccius came in behind both Alessandro Ancharius and Lucas Matius in a double tight end set. Running behind a wall of blockers, Tuccius ran over a linebacker and crossed the goal line. Saintland led 17 to 14 as halftime approached. Sibirsky proved unable to score in the handful of seconds remaining, so Saintland had a 3 point lead at the half.

Following halftime, Sibirsky got the ball first. They got a decent return, taking the opening kick of the second half out to the 44 yard line. However, they were forced to punt after a 3 and out. Prince Petrus took the field again. This time, the drive stalled around midfield. This was the story of the 3rd quarter for the Kingdom of Saintland. At one point late in the quarter, Sibirsky was pinned deep in their own end and they punted to Nicolaus Lusius. Lusius muffed the punt and an opportunistic Sibirsky defender fell on it. Nothing came out of it, but field position flipped. Late in the 3rd, the Sanctii were pinned at their own 11 yard line. After Andreas Tuccius ran for a first down, the 3rd quarter came to a close. The Kingdom of Saintland still led 17 to 14.

In the 4th quarter, the Sanctii broke this game open early. Prince Petrus picked apart the Sibirsky defense, culminating in a touchdown pass to Matthaeus Epidius. On the touchdown play, Prince Petrus took the snap at the Sibirsky 13 yard line. Epidius went downfield into the middle of the end zone. Prince Petrus threw the ball high. The tall receiver leaped in the air and he made a spectacular catch. Francus added the extra point. The Kingdom of Saintland now led by a score of 24 to 14.

After a Sibirsky punt later in the fourth quarter sailed over the head of Nicolaus Lusius and into the end zone for at touchback, Prince Petrus took the field. On first down, he called a pass where Thomas Lusius was supposed to be a decoy, going deep to draw the safeties away. However, Sibirsky was playing zone and Lusius ran right past the safety at full speed. Prince Petrus saw that and threw the ball deep where only Lusius would be able to get to it. Lusius ran down the pass and caught it in stride. He was gone as Prince Petrus's 3rd touchdown pass of the game had been an 80 yard bomb. The Sanctii now had a 31 to 14 lead. After forcing another Sibirsky punt, the Sanctii would run out the clock for a 31 to 14 victory.

Prince Petrus had completed 15 out of 25 passes on the day for 229 yards. He had 3 touchdown passes and 2 interceptions. He also had 37 yards on the ground. Andreas Tuccius had 28 carries on the day, running for 142 yards. Petrus Maximius had 52 yards on 11 carries. In total, the Sanctii had 473 yards of total offense on the day. They had conceded just 185 yards. It had been a dominant performance that easily could have been more lopsided.

A day after conceding 67 points to the Sanctii, Euskirribakondara shut out Gzbfernigambia 10-0 in a battle of inept teams. German Zerabithea barely defeated Ironite 17 to 10. Cyborg Holland became the first team to score on the Equestrian States, defeating them 16 to 10 in overtime, which is played under shootout rules. After 4 days, German Zerabithea and Cyborg Holland are both 4-0. The Equestrian States and the Kingdom of Saintland are tied at 3-1. Group 1 definitely appears to be a 4-team race for the top 2 spots. Tomorrow, the Sanctii host Ironite at Royal Stadium. The game will be aired on Royal One shortly following the Cup of Harmony draw. If the Cup of Harmony draw takes longer than expected, the game between Saintland and Ironite will begin on Royal Two and will move to Royal One following the conclusion of the draw. This game will be an important one, as it will indicate whether the Sanctii are for real or whether they just beat some weak opposition to pad their win-loss record.

Following the victory over Euskirribakondara at Royal Stadium, Prince Petrus was informed of the events at the Cathedral. He found out what had happened as he prepared to speak to the team after the game.

Prince Petrus - I was going to talk to you about how we played a great game today and how we should play like this every time out. However, I was just informed of something more important. Today's Feministvs Sanctvsterra incident at the stadium was only a decoy. Several members of the organization forced their way into the Cathedral. Reports from a priest indicate that they filmed a blasphemous music video. The police have not captured them. To the best of their knowledge, they have escaped and gone back to wherever it is that they are hiding.

Thomas Lusius - So, those ladies of ill repute ran around Royal Stadium naked so some of the other members of their organization could enter the Cathedral and disrespect God?

Prince Petrus - That is what happened, apparently. Apparently, they are willing to allow some of their members to be captured so other members of their group can commit more serious crimes.

Andreas Tuccius - Who knows what goes through their minds. They are, after all, a bunch of crazy women who reject the role God intended for them.

Georgius Didius - So, we're going to have to worry about them?

Andreas Tuccius - I think they're going to disappear again soon.

Prince Petrus - Why do you say that?

Andreas Tuccius - They clearly want the element of surprise. By going into hiding for a few months, they can return when we least expect it.

Prince Petrus - We'll find out in a few days when we face Ironite. Tomorrow, we play at Sibirsky. We need to focus on them next.

Andreas Tuccius - You're right, Petrus. We need to focus on our tournament, not a bunch of crazy ladies.

Georgius Didius - If they ever pull that stunt again, I'll personally lay a hit on each and every one of them, pads or no pads.

Prince Petrus - Just don't get yourself injured. They aren't worth that.

Georgius Didius - I won't.

The team left Royal Stadium and prepared for their flight to Sibirsky. They hoped for victory the following day and they would attain it...

"Oh, the leader of the table is coming to us. I am so scared."
"We have destroyed Crysuko. And now Qazox", Terence burped.

*The team sipped some beer cans in silent anticipation*

"Let's see if they can survive this field", said Bud and crushed a can between his fingers, watching the home ground they had prepared for the game.

Coach's Notebook : Consistency and Squad Depth

While we are yet to face another top tier side, I have been impressed at the manner in which the team has continued to accumulate victories. In order to achieve greatness, a team must have obvious qualities, such as athleticism, talent, desire and focus. However, there are other things often lacking from would-be great teams. Most notably consistency and roster depth.

So far, Luke has managed to throw touchdown passes to five different players, three different players have rushed for a touchdown, and two others (besides Paul Atkinson) have put points on the board. That makes a total of eleven scoring players across four games. Of these eleven, only three are starters, indicating great roster depth.

Defensively, the team has allowed just one touchdown and two field goals across the four games, suggesting great consistency. We have not had much to consider in terms of defending against the run as yet -- and this is a legitimate concern, given the team's history of poor run defense -- though we have looked superb defending against the pass.

This efficacy in shutting out aerial offense, combined with the team's two defensive scores, underline the great improvement made on "the other side of the ball" over the past few years in particular.

Maintaining our offensive output and defensive stoutness will give us a good shot at reaching the playoffs with a high seed again. This time, however, we will be better prepared -- more experienced and possessing greater depth -- and we will not fail.

Allamunnic States Daily
Special World Bowl XX Coverage

Regulars right ship, pitch two more shutouts
Outscore opponents 20-0 after poor officiating costs team game

It started with a 3-0 loss to Grandterre that was owed as much to poor officiating as anything else; after Grandterre had taken a 3-0 lead at the beginning of the game, the Regulars had two touchdowns called back (one on a legitimate call, one on a phantom hold) and then had an attempt to kick a game-tying field goal as time expired foiled by officials who were not paying attention, resulting in them not seeing two players and a coach all simultaneously signalling for a timeout as the last two seconds expired off the clock.

Normally, this writer would not call foul, but it is important to note that the offending referees were all Qazoxian. Were it nationals of any other nation doing the officiating, we would dismiss claims out of hand that the poor officiating was done deliberately, but with the Qazoxians it cannot be ruled out.

In light of these allegations, however, coach Ryan Smart dismissed the calls for investigation.

"The fact is we played like crap. It was sloppy, we had no rhythm, and we looked lost out there. We should not have needed any breaks to come out and stomp Grandterre flat, even on their own turf. I assure you, we'll be breaking down this game-tape exhaustively."

Part of the problem laid with the Regulars' signal-caller; Leif Erikson had a poor day, going 10/21 for 106 yards and two interceptions. Anyone who recalls last year should realize that this means Erikson equaled his interception total from last year in a single game this time around. The rushing attack had fewer problems, but explosiveness was an issue on a day when the whole team looked flat: Danyl Wyndhorst rushed 12 times for 76 yards, Ryan Myers rushed 6 times for 32 yards, Haanryk Stahlburg rushed 5 times for 21 yards, and Ole Nurdsunn rushed four times for 16 yards.

It was all rather a shame, because the gaffes and eventual defeat overshadowed another monster day from Steven Lindburgh, who amassed a sack, twelve tackles (four for loss), recovered a fumble, and defensed a pass. Honorius Waalturs' numbers weren't too shabby, either, as he tallied a sack, four tackles, and an interception. Andrik Ierunmungur also snagged an interception while totaling five tackles and two passes defensed.

Luckily, the next week, the same score went in the Regulars' favor as they managed to scrape up a 3-0 win against Firiminaz. Erikson managed to avoid turning over the ball, even if he didn't have quite the bounce-back performance he might have wanted, going 12/19 for 154 yards with no interceptions. On the ground, Wyndhorst took nine carries for 72 yards, Myers took 5 carries for 25 yards, Stahlburg took 6 carries for 28 yards, and Nurdsunn took 5 carries for 20 yards. The defense went on to force three turnovers and seven sacks as outside linebacker Maarkus Staalhelm posted a breakout effort by forcing a fumble, catching an interception, amassing eight tackles, and a sack and a half. Justin Connors' 31-yard field goal in the third quarter ended up being the game-winner.

The third game in this stretch provided evidence that the Regulars had worked through their teething issues, as they took down group leader West Angola 17-0 in the team's third shutout. Leif Erikson bounced back, going 18/22 for 265 yards and a touchdown to Garrett Kelley. Danyl Wyndhorst took 11 carries for 101 yards and a touchdown, while Ryan Myers took another 4 carries for 19 yards, Nurdsunn took 4 for 18, and Stahlburg took 5 for 21.

The defense also forced three turnovers (one fumble and two interceptions) and five sacks. Through the games, Staalhelm and Lindburgh have been key players all through the four games, as has Honorius Waalturs who, at 33, has yet to slow down and is once again the Regulars' sack leader. All in all, through four games, the Regulars have the third-fewest points allowed with three in one loss in four games to be in second-place in the group behind World Bowl hosts Karditan.

The Sova Empire Wins!!!!!

"Rodard will punt. If The Sova Empire cannot score, we will go into overtime!"
"That's right. The Sova Empire has never been in overtime before. No doubt, TSE would probably crumble under the massive pressure that comes with extra time."
"We can only watch. Rodard punts, David will catch. The punt went to the Sova 25. David swerves left, right, breaks a tackle! HE'S WIDE OPEN! DAVID HAS BROKEN FREE!! TO THE 30, TO THE 20, 10 YARDS, TOUCHDOWN TSE!!!!!"
"I DON'T BELIEVE IT! THE HURRICANES HAVE WON IT ON A PUNT RETURN!"
"THE SOVA EMPIRE WILL CELEBRATE TONIGHT!!! Final score is 10-3, with The Sova Empire taking the upper hand over Rodard!"

At this point, people poured into the streets. These people loved sports, and the football team hadn't won until that play. The Sovan team hadn't even scored until a field goal in the first quarter from 34 yards back. The anticipation was building throughout the night in the capital city of New Bethlehem. People listened from the outside of the sold-out Temple Dome, and those who didn't do that watched on their TV or listened to radio. Untold millions were receiving info on the game in some way. When the announcers called the final play, there was instant pandemonium. People threw their arms in the air, shot confetti, opened Champagne bottles, did flying chest-bumps, and anything they could to display their joy of finally scoring victory.

So what did we miss? Well while we were on hiatus due to a blackout the Fitin' Falcons took down Darmen in an epic defensive battle 6-3. The top two teams in the group proved to be well matched on the defensive end, and little offense occurred throughout the game with 3 and outs the name of event. The Falcons prevailed due to the old Taeshani adage of Defense wins championships, even when it doesn't. The Falcons won the game thanks to a late field goal of 47 yards in the waning seconds after a late drive.

Anywho the Fitin' Falcons followed the big victory with another victory as they shut out Zeedoom 27-0 thanks to another great defensive effort, with the offense deciding to show up in the second game. The Falcons scored early and often in their fourth game of the young campaign. Also they currently sit top of their group in a four way tie, but have beaten what is arguably their toughest opponent in Darmen.
