Boycott to Hurt World Bowl Chances
by Lauren Rheingold, Concord Heights Times- junior Sports Editor

World Bowl 20 is right around the corner, and while the nation deals with the shocking accusations concerning a member of the World Cup team, plus a new and much more violent men’s rights group, it might be hard to get in the mood for this a little bit. It didn’t help when the Male Football Players Union (an organization that was created about 20 seconds before they made this announcement) declared that they would completely boycott World Bowl 20. For those that might need the refresher, Cassadagan football rosters have never been “all-female”. They have, in fact, incorporated men, mostly on the offensive and defensive lines, but also appearing at positions such as fullback and linebacker. 33-year old Cliff Stanford, who has played in a few World Bowls, starting at the right-tackle position, and surely would have returned again, has been named the President of this Union. Stanford addressed the media, and told reporters, “This is not meant to show any kind of support for the violent actions that have taken place. This is about brotherhood with our soccer players, the male soccer players who were told by new CASE President Meaghan Bateman that she would not allow any men on the national soccer team.” Stanford scoffed at the idea that this is counter-productive, “Not true on that. What this will show is the value of the male athlete in Cassadaigua. Without the nation’s best lineman, you’ll notice a lot more difficulty for the nation to have success. If you have watched the Allamunnic States over the years, you know the importance of an offensive line. In Cassadaigua, the best offensive lineman, as well as the defensive lineman, are men. All of them. So the replacements will not be world class caliber.”

That will make things hard on young quarterback Jessica Minor, who will need a lot of pocket protection in order for her to show her best attributes. Minor, after all, is a pocket passer with a cannon arm, and not much of a scrambler. If the offensive line shows to be subpar, then it’s going to be hard for Jessica to really show her abilities. She has been diplomatic thus far, saying, “I would prefer to have the more experienced men in front of me, but I believe in the people who are on this team and not boycotting anything,” but one wonders if she will still feel that way if she’s finding herself getting sacked often. The problem on the defensive side should not be as glaring, given Cassadaigua prides itself on the secondary. Although some of the names are different with the defensive backs for this World Bowl, coach Kaitlyn Rinaldi believes that they will have no problem carrying on the tradition of Cassadaigua’s strength.

The first game for the Dagans will be in Kinzar, a nation that had a mediocre Baptism of Iron, though have shown themselves to have potential in other sports, such as the recent NSCAA tournament, where they had schools win two conference tournaments. The first game in Concord Heights will be Matchday 2, against The Royal Kingdom of Quebec.

Wildcats win, Brown suspended for gesture

Kinzar pulled off a stunning win at home, knocking off top-seeded Cassadaigua by the score of 10-3, though the result would have been better if we didn’t have to report on more antics by “Touchdown” Scottie Brown in this game. During the Baptism of Iron, Brown was suspended for two games due to his protesting of a non-pass interference call. (He took the referee’s penalty flag out of his pocket and threw it at his feet). This time, the flamboyant wide receiver is in more hot water after a sexual gesture made toward Cassadaigua’s Shannon Jackson after he caught a key pass on a 3rd and 15 during the 3rd quarter while the game was still tied at 3. Upon catching the pass for the first down on the left sideline, Brown pointed to a certain part of his body and motioned for Jackson to do something to it. Jackson appeared to want to take a swing at Brown, but was restrained by her teammate, Jessica Larue. Apparently the referee did not see the gesture, or it did not immediately process in his head what Brown was doing, as there wasn’t even a penalty flag thrown on the play. With the Cassadaigua defense rattled a little bit, the Wildcats continued the drive, and would end up in the end zone on a six yard run by Jack Stackhouse. KFL Commissioner Kyle Hassett, handed down another two-game suspension for his wide receiver, saying, “During the Baptism of Iron I tried to get it through to Scottie that he needs to act like a professional in these tournaments. I am stunned that he would do something so pointless in the first game of World Bowl 20. On behalf of everyone involved at the KFL, we apologize to Shannon Jackson, to the Cassadagan national team, and to the people of Cassadaigua; but also to our own women here in Kinzar. There are a lot of Kinzite women who may look up to the Cassadaigua for inspiration, and they don’t need to see such a gesture either.” Brown did not comment on the suspension, but before he learned of the suspension, he joked online that he and others were feeling up their opponents as much as possible.

The Sharks started of with a defensive battle in their World Bowl XX opener, a 20-10 win at The Fair Republic. A windy snowy night helped keep the offenses in check. Ian West had 163 yards rushing to pace the offense which was held to a total of 269 yards. Jim Zebow was 11-14 for 106 yards on the day, but had a fumble which set up the first score of the day, a 3-yard TD run by the home side. But the snow seemed to affect The Fair Republic more than Qazox, as the hosts had 5 fumbles, losing 3 of them and were held to a total of 157 yards. Oliver Muadh, who tore his ACL and MCL in the next-to-last group game 10 months ago, returned to the field tonight, and had two short FGs. But his kickoffs, which had been averaging 59.5 net yards in his first three World Bowls, was only 52.1 tonight and for the first time in his carrer didn't have a touchback. Hopefully it was more due to the weather than his injury. Qazox will head home to face West Guiana, 22-3 winners over Kriegiersien, at the SaxerDome, where weather will not be a factor.

Billy walked into the set of his idiot nephew and his friend's show, he planned on telling him to stop mailing him killer raptors. However he found that they were gone. "Weird" he thought to himself. "Their show should be starting soon." Then one of the producers came out from the side and walked to Billy.

Producer: Hey Billy, Chad and JR were sucked into some portal or whatever, so... wanna do a show?

Billy: ...

Producer: ...

Billy: GAHHHHHHHH!!!!!

He's angry

"Grrrrr"

He's loud

"SCREAMING"

It's The Angry Billy Show

Billy: Hey guys, my idiot nephew and his friend are gone for some reason, so welcome to The Angry Billy Show where I talk about what I liked about this week of football, AND WHAT I HATED!!1

Liked:

* The Rams won yesterday against Saintland 48-13. Holy Sheet, only one other team in the bowl scored more this week, but despite that, I think the Rams made it clear to Saintland why they are ranked second in the world.

* Robert had a great game going 28-31. 341 yrds. 4TD and 1INT, other stats include Charles Valintely who had 11 catches for 112 yards and 2 TDs, and Benarv Cafeno who had ten runs for 75 yards and 1 TD, and one catch for 5 yards and a TD.

* The defense had their way with Prince Petrus and the Saintland offense allowing only two TDs (with the second one ending with a blocked extra point kick). Petrus was sacked twice, and the linebackers kept both Tuccius and Maximius under 100 yards. Petris also threw 2 INTs one made by Chaplin Paul going back for a TD.

HATED:

* Of all of the winning teams in the group, the Rams gave up the most points, in a group that will probably be decided by point differential, that can't happen.

* On top of that, because Cyborg Holland had a blowout, they actually lead the group! We don't even know who plays for them, that's a shame.

* The defense managed to keep Prince Petrus under pressure for the most part, but late in the 3rd, he managed to break free from their 49 and go for the TD, a lot of teams are starting to run dual threat QB's, so the defense will need to study this play so they know how to keep that from happening.

Billy: Well that's all the time I have for today, see you guys hopefully never on The Angry Billy Show!

Good start!

Despite the terrible ranking and predictions before the tournament, the Greenblue team managed to set some things straight against the Babbage Islands. Ko-oren was exactly one touchdown and one field goal better than TBI, and the game ended in 24-14. Trick plays were a big part of this match, and had both teams' quarterbacks score a touchdown. Ploraon, the Ko-orenite QB, had the time of his life, and he was everywhere, and his good passes were everywhere too. Especially WR Ardhonsi was at the receiving end of these, and his speed saved the Greenblues many times, and late into the game, he scored a touchdown too. Just Samenotsard had a bad day, which allowed the TBI players to reach the QB more than once. Ploraon, by that time, often had already played the ball, luckily.

The next match is against Yesopalitha. The first seed of Group 3 will obviously a though nut to crack, but as we all know, anything can happen. One thing that is a factor - Positive or negative, and for which team it's negative or positive, we don't know - is that the Yesopalithan team have not released a full roster yet. The Greenblues do not know what players to prepare against, but we're sure Yesopalithan players will be a little bit clueless too, as they cannot know if they will play, and who will be next to them. With all the luck of the world, Ko-oren could end this in our favor.

Giroux Enquirer wrote:The Baptism of Iron champion team from Stretta are once again leaving our shores to compete in World Bowl XX.

From the side that went out to West Guiana, very little has changed. Pat Kolna's broken leg has put him out of action, and Gerard Tolmen steps in to take over the punting duties. With only 1 international loss under their belt, the team are confident that they can compete.

Looking down at the clipboard, Bobby Stevens frowned. He stepped onto the plane. "Hammernick?" There was a return call. Stevens shook his head and ticked off the last name. Missed one. The constant travel was one more headache that Stevens should probably delegate. His heart troubles in West Guiana were still giving him pain. He had hoped to be able to make it through one more tournament before finally retiring, but if the BoI hospitalised him, the World Bowl would surely destroy him.

Arriving in Fenbar, the team were pumped up and ready. The team still had the BoI trophy in their minds. They could almost smell the metallic notes lingering on their fingertips. As every coach knows, there is a lot to be said about momentum. At the 13-14 half-time score, though, it was clear that Stretta had progressed out of the kids league and into the real world. The opponents were already proving tougher. "More D!" Stevens was pacing the locker room. "Shut down that running game. 4-3 doesn't mean the QB needs to end up on his arse every time. He's secondary. Linebackers, more leadership. We can secure this victory!"

There was a new addition to the coaching staff coming out of West Guiana. Pat Kolna, the punter without a job, was alongside Stevens taking up some of the lackey work. Since his injury at the hands of 4 thugs in the streets near his hotel, his league team had filled his shoes with a younger player. Unless somebody picked him up from the free agent lists, his broken leg was career ending. Usually, coaches started their lives as coaches, and players moved into commentary, but nobody wanted a punter to commentate. Stevens saw special-teams coaching in Kolna's future, though.

The coaching staff observed from the sideline as the team put up 30 points in the last two quarters of play.

Strettan Sports Journal wrote:In a post-match interview, Fred Jackson had a lot to say. The running back, known by his fans as a vocal player, proved so instrumental to the Strettan game in the BoI, and continued his form today with 2 running TDs. "The team are solid. We took our game to the rest of the world, to the more experienced teams, and we're still holding our own. A victory like that can only mean one thing: Stretta has arrived, baby!"

The match also saw back-up QB Lucas Simmonds take some snaps. While Hodges had a cut on his left arm tended to at the start of the 2nd, the team played a lot of running, including the use of Simmonds huge strides and agile play. The QB picked up 5-yds passing and 10-yds of running, and saw the team march 30-yds in total before having to punt away. The extra dynamic that this player could potentially bring is yet to be seen, but his individual performance will surely give Bobby Stevens, head coach, something to think about.

Stevens sat down with his coaching staff on the plane. Having a sponsored plane to shuttle the team everywhere was a very nice luxury to have, and they hadn't been short of companies wanting their name associated with the team. They surveyed the rest of the group, paying close attention to the next couple of opponents. Very little was known about any of the opposition in Group 8, and it made it quite hard to prepare. Beating a rank 99 team wasn't quite comparable to facing a rank 6 team, that was certain. Darmen would be the real test of the team, and Stevens knew it.

Allamunnic States Daily
Regs come out firing, crush the Sova Empire

For the Regulars, despite a large number of departures, some things haven't changed. That much was readily apparent as Coach Ryan Smart led the team to his 94th win, in an effort that saw the Regulars find the endzone several times while posting a shutout to begin the first of fourteen qualifying games to determine which teams will be headed to Karditan. And, against newcomers from the Sova Empire, the Regulars made what could only be considered a statement victory: despite being the most successful team currently active in the World Bowl, the Allamunnic national team is not looking to rest on its laurels.

"We're here this year to make history," Smart told reporters. "No team's won four championships or made it to five finals. And we're the only team to win back-to-back championships. We're here trying to top ourselves. What else haven't we done? Had a perfect season? Add that to our "to-do" list, too."

Smart is also currently only six games away from a mile-marker that he is downplaying, but which seems to be figuring big in many other people's observations: he is currently in his quest for his hundredth win in World Bowl competition. In case anyone is wondering, his now-94-2-22 record is better than some entire programs'.

But, to the game:

The defense looked strong as ever; they combined to force six sacks, two interceptions, a fumble (which was recovered), and a safety as well as scoring a touchdown. Steven Lindburgh was dominant with one-and-a-half sacks, three tackles for loss (supplementing eleven normal tackles), as well as recovering a fumble, joining Honorius Waalturs to force a safety, and running back an interception for a touchdown. It's saying something when the last accomplishment being mentioned is that the Regulars forced another shut-out: that those have become so routine for the Blue-and-Grey is telling of their successes in recent years. It is equally telling, even if it is only through a single game, when a team's second-leading scorer is a linebacker.

The offense also lit up the scoreboard in a way that they frequently did not last year during their championship run; Leif Erikson went 22/28 for 317 yards and two touchdowns with no interceptions. Danyl Wyndhorst also rushed 16 times for 102 yards and a touchdown. Haanryk Stahlburg added 5 rushes for 33 yards and another touchdown (off of a 23-yard run), Ryan Myers had 5 carries for 15 yards, and Ole Nurdsunn carried four times for 16 yards. The offense allowed no turnovers.

The game started with the Sovans winning the coin-toss and electing to receive. The kickoff gave evidence of something else that the Allamunnae have improved over the years: despite the Sovan "Hugo" fielding the ball at the five and starting a run that had all the hallmarks of a big return, he was slammed to the turf at his own thirteen by Edryk Waalturs. The Sovans began a drive there, and, despite gaining a few yards, were forced to punt fairly quickly. Ryan Sherman fielded the punt at the Allamunnic 45 and returned it to the Sovan 33.

Scoring took all of two plays. Ryan Myers got the ball four yards up on first-down. The next play, Smart dialed up a play-action. The Allamunnae's reputation for being a run-first team is well known. The Sovans bit hard on the fake run, and could only watch helplessly as Leif Erikson boot-legged and lofted a beautiful 31-yard touchdown pass to Devin Smith, who caught it in-stride as he reached the endzone. After Justin Connors made the PAT without trouble, the Regulars had the lead, 7-0, only a few minutes into the game, in front of a raucous home crowd in Thomasburg.

Connors booted a touchback on the ensuing kick-off. The Sovans, working from their own 20, managed to almost reach midfield before Theo Laansur jarred a ball loose from "Igor"'s hands. Steven Lindburgh, obviously still playing with some anger from a stressful summer, scooped up the ball and got six yards on the return before he was gang-tackled by the Sovans. The Regulars took back over on the Sovan 43 yard-line.

Myers only managed 4 yards on two rushes, and it looked like the Regulars were headed for a three and out before Leif Erikson dropped back on third down, knocking in a 8-yard completion to Hael Fokkenmaar to convert. Switching to the pass, Erikson completed four more passes to get them to the Sovan 4 yard-line. On the fifth pass (seventh play of the drive), Erikson dumped off a 4-yard touchdown completion to Fokkenmaar to, after Connors' PAT, widen the lead to 14-0 early in the second quarter.

The next time the Sovans had the ball, they managed to drive as far as the Allamunnic 36 yard line before Belle Marquette stepped in front of a misaimed pass from "Tomas," returning it to the Sovan 45 yard-line before "Felix" caught up to her and put a stop to the return. However, as the Regulars tried to run the clock out, Haanryk Stahlburg, in relief duty, busted open a 23-yard touchdown run to widen the lead (after another PAT) to 21-0 heading into halftime.

The Regulars recieved the opening kickoff of the second half, which Sherman returned from the Allamunnic 12 to the Allamunnic 39. From there, the Allamunnic tailback committee spent the next ten minutes burning clock, culminating in Danyl Wyndhorst punching in a 5-yard touchdown run with a minute left in the third quarter, with Connors' PAT widening the lead further to 28-0.

The Sovans attempted another drive early in the fourth quarter which went backwards from their own 16 yard-line, culminating in Honorius Waalturs and Steven Lindburg tackling sacking "Tomas" in the Sovan endzone to force a safety, widening the lead further to 30-0.

By this point, the Allamunnic second-team offense was in, and, after burning some clock, they were forced to punt from the Sovan 41. The Sovans started mounting another drive, desperate to put a score on the board to avoid the shutout. However, "Tomas" forced a pass that Archie Wagner swatted, sending it tumbling into Steven Lindburgh's waiting arms. Lindburgh picked up the necessary blocks from Wagner, Laansur, Danley Vicious, and Maarkus Staalhelm to return the interception 37 yards for a touchdown, which, after Connors' PAT, left the score at its final margin of 37-0.

The Sovans got nothing going on the last drive and, bowing to the running clock and their failures throughout the day, took a knee to end the game.

Only one bad thing happened for the Regulars during the game: Kyle Thornburger, back for his last year on the gridiron, suffered what looked to be a serious knee injury midway through the first quarter. The team is awaiting further tests to find out what Thornburger's likely fate is.

Honorius Waalturs led the team with 2.5 sacks, four tackles (one for loss), and split-credit on a safety. Lindburgh led the team overall, defensively, with 1.5 sacks, a fumble recovery, split-credit on a safety, and an interception returned for a touchdown, all supplemented by eleven tackles (3 for loss). Belle Marquette also registered an interception, and Theo Laansur registered seven tackles (two for loss), one sack, and a forced fumble. The remaining sack was registered as a split between Danley Vicious and Archie Wagner. Maarkus Staalhelm registered 4 tackles (one for loss).

Subramani Off to a Winning Start

Subramani got a good schedule in that they will meet 2 under ranked opponents in the first 2 matches of their debut World Bowl. And they made the most of it by hammering the 136th ranked opponents Demonslave 34-10.

Period 1Period 2Period 3Period 4OTTotal
Demonslave0307-10
Subramani107107-34

The game began brightly for Subramani with a touchdown and a field goal in the first period, while their defense made sure than Demonslave team was not able score either a touchdown or a field goal. In the second period, Subramani managed one more touchdown whereas Demonslave could manage only one field goal. Third period was exact replica of the first period, with Subramani scoring a touchdown and a field goal and Demonslave scoring none. Demonslave only started to show some promise towards the end of the game, as both the teams scored a touchdown each.

Subramani coach Gary said, he was happy with the performance of the team so far, both in the Baptism of Iron and in the opening match of the World Bowl. He hoped the team would continue to pull beyond its weight and surprise higher ranked opponents. Subramani will meet yet another lower ranked opponent, 136th ranked German American States in the next match.

Saintland blown out by German Zerabithea 48 to 13

(SP) The National Gridiron Team played their first World Bowl game today against the 2nd ranked team in the world and they immediately showed that they will likely not be able to hang with the best teams in the world, as the National Soccer Team did in World Cup qualification. The Kingdom of Saintland is still stunned by that Audioslavian counter-attack in added time that eliminated us from the World Cup, but it was still encouraging to see the soccer team hang with the defending World Cup champions on 2 occasions. Things have not gone so well on the gridiron field, where German Zerabithea ran away with it from the start. A dominant performance from Robert Shoemaker allowed the Rams to run away with this one, as they won by a final score of 48 to 13. "I was under pressure all day and we continued to struggle offensively. Today, we were not facing another relatively inexperienced national team. We were facing the #2 ranked team in the world. We were not playing at a neutral site in West Guiana. We were playing on the road. Realistically, we never stood a chance out there, so I'm not too upset about the loss. Today, we found out exactly where we stand compared to the best teams in the world and we just need to get more experience running our system. If we can do that, we will eventually be one of the best teams in the world. If we get some offensive chemistry, we will be able to get the ball past their 7-man defensive line and make some big plays next time. I look forward to facing weaker competition over the next few days and I think we stand a good chance of winning our next 3 games." - Prince Petrus

Robert Shoemaker came out throwing early. By the end of the first quarter, he had thrown 2 touchdown passes and German Zerabithea already led 17 to nothing. Things went from bad to worse in the second quarter when a Prince Petrus pass intended for was intercepted by Chaplin Paul and returned for a touchdown. Robert Shoemaker would throw his 3rd touchdown pass right before the half and German Zerabithea took a 31 to nothing lead into the halftime interval.

Because of World Bowl tiebreaker rules, German Zerabithea continued to play to score points after the half, but the Sanctii defense stiffened up in the 3rd quarter. Ganon Koradi would miss a field goal attempt. The score remained 31 to nothing. Late in the 3rd quarter, Prince Petrus finally made something happen when he broke away from the German Zerabithean pressure. The Prince of Saintland ran it himself. After he found his way past the 7-man defensive line, he was gone. As the play was a designed pass, the receivers were being covered by the linebackers and defense backs. They blocked them, allowing Prince Petrus to run into the end zone for a Saintland touchdown. After Philippus Francus kicked the extra point, the score was 31 to 7.

On the very next possession, a Robert Shoemaker pass intended for Zambia Samuelson would be intercepted by Silvester Didius. Didius did not return it very far. Prince Petrus completed a first down pass to Ioannes Lusius for a rare Prince Petrus completion. Lusius was tackled at the 3-yard line. The clock would run out on the 3rd quarter. As the teams switched sides, Prince Petrus knew what he was going to call next. Prince Petrus took the snap in an I-formation with Maximius and Ancharius in the backfield. He had called the option on first and goal. Prince Petrus decided against handing off to Ancharius and rolled out to the side. The German Zerabithean defense charged at Prince Petrus. The Prince tossed the ball to Petrus Maximius and the running back dashed into the end zone untouched for a Saintland touchdown. Philippus Francus came out to kick the extra point. Gordan Kendal found his way through the line and the Adam Sennius snap was bobbled by Paulus Salvius. Salvius finally got the ball down and Francus ran up to kick it for the PAT, but Kendal got a hand on it. The score was 31 to 13.

From there, German Zerabithea regained the momentum. Robert Shoemaker would throw his 4th touchdown and Benarv Cafeno would score a touchdown on the ground to go along with his touchdown reception from earlier in the game. The Rams added another field goal and the final score was 48 to 13. On the day, the Sanctii managed just 247 yards of total offense. Robert Shoemaker threw for 341 yards and Benarv Cafeno added 75 on the ground, as German Zerabithea finished with over 400 yards of total offense. Prince Petrus throw 2 interceptions and was sacked twice. He completed just 10 passes out of 33 attempts. The majority of the yards for the Sanctii came on the ground, but Tuccius and Maximius both had off days against a team with a stacked defensive front.

Tomorrow, Prince Petrus and his teammates will travel to Gzbfernigambia to face unranked opposition. Gzbfernigambia was defeated 27 to 7 by Ironite today. In fact, all 4 games in Group 1 were blowouts. The Sanctii scored the most points of any of the losers, scoring 13. Sibirsky and Euskirribakondara were both shut out. However, the Sanctii also allowed the most points of any team in the group, conceding 48. Cyborg Holland put up 47 on Euskirribakondara. Because point differential is being used as a tiebreaker, Prince Petrus wants his team to stay aggressive late in games when they have a lead and it seems the same opinion is shared throughout this competition. Tomorrow's game will be broadcast live on Royal One, which is where all games featuring the National Gridiron Team will be broadcast until the Cup of Harmony starts. If the National Gridiron Team loses again tomorrow, that would be cause for alarm, but Gzbfernigambia is not even remotely of the same caliber as German Zerabithea.

After the 48 to 13 loss to German Zerabithea, Prince Petrus spoke to his team in the locker room.

Prince Petrus - Today, we played the 2nd-ranked team in the world. They were better than us on offense and they were better than us on defense. We just didn't stand a chance out there. We were not in their league on this day. However, we do not face the 2nd best team in the world every day. This was, without any doubt, the best team in our group. Do not get discouraged by this defeat. We should have expected to lose today. Tomorrow, our opponents are Gzbfernigambia. They are unranked and are so disorganized that they haven't even put out a roster yet. Instead of facing the best team in our group, we will likely face the worst tomorrow. We can beat them and we must beat them.

The team boarded the plane to Gzbfernigambia. During their flight, they could not use the computer system that had been installed on their planes to watch game film because the only film of Gzbfernigambia was from their 27-7 loss to Ironite and that game wasn't available for download on Sanctusfile in time.

Prince Petrus - Everybody needs to watch the game between Gzbfernigambia and Ironite on Sanctustube, if you can find a computer somewhere.

Georgius Didius - That's unlikely to happen.

Prince Petrus - I wish my brother Andreas had finished his new project already.

Petrus Mamilius - What project?

Prince Petrus - It won't be announced until right before World Cup 65 and he asked me not to reveal the details.

Thomas Lusius - Why can't you reveal the details?

Prince Petrus - It needs to be kept confidential. He hasn't finalized his plans yet.

Georgius Didius - Why did you bring it up then?

Prince Petrus - Forget about it. You'll know when the time is right.

Georgius Didius - I want to know now.

Prince Petrus - I can't reveal that information.

The conversation had gotten sidetracked as the Saintland National Gridiron Team prepared to arrive in Gzbfernigambia for their 2nd game of the World Bowl. They were determined to win this time.

The lo-down on Mr. Brown,
by Shannon Jackson

I was never going to be one who was going to write a blog for the international team. Most people, after all, find it more interesting to hear what someone who plays a “skill” position on offense has to say, instead of a starting cornerback, even if such defensive back plays on a national team like ours, that prides itself on secondary play. I will talk about the game, and the disappointment of it, in a bit, but you all know why I was asked to write this blog. Scottie Brown and I were yapping at each other all game. He’s a trash talker, and I’m not one to back down from that talk and to answer back. When he caught that pass on 3rd & 15, he made a nice play to time his leap a little better then I did, and did well to keep both feet in-bounds. Upon getting up, he made his gesture towards me that got him suspended for two games. On a personal level, I didn’t have a problem with it. Football is a highly competitive game, his team was the underdog playing at home, and he just made a big play for his team at my expense. The only thing I was mad at was that I allowed him to make such a reception and keep the drive alive, which ultimately ended up in the game-winning touchdown. (A Kinzar reporter mentioned that I wanted to take a swing at Brown and had to be restrained. Actually, I just wanted to get in his face about that being the only good play he'll make for the rest of the game. Jessica Larue held me back, probably also thinking I was gonna hit him, but I never really planned on it). When Jack Stackhouse scored, I had actually completely forgotten about what Scottie Brown had done because I was pissed at having allowed him to score; as pissed as a sentient pony would be if he had to have a jockey on his back for a big horse race. What goes forgotten is that I continued to cover Brown for the rest of the game, and we continued to heckle one another.

If Scottie had made the gesture to me with no one seeing, or simply told me to “suck it” instead of motioning with his hand at the same time, I would say the KFL is overreacting, and to let him play. The problem, Scottie, if you’re reading this and I have the feeling you will (since you’ll have nothing better to do for the next two games while I am out there on the field), is that you have to remember that you are on the international playing field now. I have read various articles from Kinzar reporters here and there in other sports, and there is a theme within them about your nation making the jump from saying within its national borders, to playing at this level. The feeling of representing your country at this level is absolutely amazing, and as you do that, people will look up to you even more in your home country. This makes your individual actions magnified about ten-times more then they ever would be at home. Many more people are watching, and you are just starting. I have no problem with showboating once in a while, but remember your audience is much greater here then it is in the KFL. Fortunately, Scottie, you are only suspended for two games, so you get to come to Cassadaigua. Bring your game here, and see what happens. Just hope you haven’t shot your load already. We don’t like that, after all.

Osarius Firebirds Gridiron Football Roster

Head Coach: Leon Saint
Saint is a living legend. There's no two ways about it. After leading the national team to Baptism of Iron glory some 20 years ago, and leading the most successful gridiron team in Osarian history (Utica Bears) until his retirement eight years ago, Saint has slowly carved out a reputation as a stellar coach, too. "It's as if everything he touches turns to win" said Rashad Jackson, formerly his rival of sorts. The former quarterback has a keen tactical mind and a propensity for "thinking outside the box", though will be extremely disappointed in his team's collapse during World Bowl XIX. The second group stage -- after a superb qualifying campaign -- saw the Firebirds head home earlier than anyone expected. Saint's relative inexperience in the world of gridiron coaching and management -- and his reputation among the fans -- earned him a reprieve of sorts back home, but it won't happen twice. "Saint Leon" knows full well that he has to deliver this time, and with his younger brother Luke looking likely to be starting under center this campaign, that pressure will be amplified exponentially.

Assistant Coaches: Xavier Camacho & Henri Toulalan
Both formerly of Utica University, and both familiar with Leon Saint, it's not a surprise at all that they are backing up the Utica alumnus. Camacho's tenure as Utica Tigers defensive co-ordinator often sees him take some heat, but that's a little unfair. When he had top players to work with on defense, his unit finished top five in the OCGL four years straight. Toulalan, on the other hand, is a quarterback coach like Saint, most recently working as assistant to the legendary Mike Zampese at Utica University. Toulalan has had a hand in the development of almost every elite Osarian quarterback at some point, and is one of Saint's most trustworthy mentors (after the late, great Martin Connors and Mike Zampese).

Home Stadium: The Benevolence Bowl, Dynapolis, Osarius (capacity 67,000)
The Benevolence Bowl hosts the national championship game in Osarian gridiron every year, despite the existence of the larger Mount Crown Stadium. Considered the cradle of Osarian gridiron, the 67,000 capacity arena in the south has the perfect atmosphere for the game. An atmosphere that simply can't be replicated at Mount Crown. The humid southern climate is considered an advantage for Osarius over visiting teams, who often struggle under the weight of the heat and the typically hostile Osarian stadium atmosphere, but it does mean the home side are forced to employ extensive personnel rotation.

Playing Style: West Coast Offense / 4-3 Defense
Typically, I RP most opposition yardage as occurring on the ground so I'd prefer if -- if you post before I do -- you RP'd my defense as having a very strong pass rush and a strong secondary, but that's not necessary.

Style modifier: +2
Colours: Red, Black and Gold

RP Permissions: Do whatever you like, as long as you don't kill or severely injure any players/staff without the green light. Just have fun, eh?

In an exciting start to the Season the Fitin' Falcons hosted Levivania in Fadron Pizza Field at Wonder Park in Wiechester. The Falcons started their new campaign for the World Bowl 20 years after the first time the nation of Taeshan won World Bowl 0. The Fitin' Falcons got off to a rousing start defeating their visitors in a game that was never close, and never could have been. It was a one team game, as the Falcons won by a whopping 50-3 to get their season off to a great start. With scoring on both sides of the ball and a lot of backups getting to play for most of the second half it was almost like it was a preseason game in the TFL, and the Fitin' Falcons easily managed to get through the game unscathed.

The Knights kicked the ball off to start the game and then the Levivanian's managed to drive for their only points of the game as they got a field goal 5 minutes into the game. That was the only time the game was relatively close. The Knights returned the kickoff for a touchdown Adam Waraner walked the ball down the field almost making it 7-3. On the Levivanian drive after Free Safety Jacob Martin returned a pick to make it 14-3. The Knights offense would not get on the field until the second quarter and by then it was 21-3 thanks to a Laurent Kariquez pick six just before the end of the 1st.

In the second quarter when the Falcons finally got the ball on the offense it took only one play as Quarterback Jeremy Dramona took the option keeper down the right side for a touchdown continuing the offensive onslaught making the score 28-3. Oliver Landis would add another just before halftime with a 50 yard dash on the option dive play. With the score now 34-3 after a missed field goal the Falcons had a nice lead going into the second half. With the score all but certain many of the Falcons switched to their other positions on the other side of the ball and second string quarterback and Punter Isaac Lesack came into helm the offense. The defense managed another two points after a punt when the resulting first down play from the 3 resulted in a bad snap and a safety.

The Falcons managed to make it 43-3 with another offensive score as Lesack handed off Colby Adamson who scampered 33 yards to make it a 40 point game. The Falcons then scored their last points in the fourth, testing out their air game as third string quarterback and kicker Ryan Yorke threw a nice screen to wideout Mathew Hainesworth who went for 28 yards to give the Falcons a 50-3 score and allowed some great rest for a few of the starters.

Fire Ponies Burn Away Sibirsky 34-0

CANTERLOT - The Fire Ponies' opening game wasn't what everypony expected. Sure, the team won, but that wasn't the surprising bit. What was surprising was the way the Fire Ponies won: a merciless 34-0 shutout beating of Sibirsky.

Usually, the Equestrian States boasts a team that is mediocre at best on offense, but an impenetrable wall on defense. Few are ever shocked by final scores like 14-0 or 17-3, because the Fire Ponies simply don't play in very many high-scoring games. Last night, however, was a different story entirely, with the Equestrians opening their World Bowl campaign at home with a decisive rout of the 58th-ranked team in the world.

The first quarter set the tone of the match more than any other, and was a clear indicator of the Fire Ponies' prowess on the ground. After the defense forced the visitors into a four-and-out, returner Jet Set took the punt back 36 yards to set up Lightning Bolt's 20 yard touchdown run on the next play. By the end of the first quarter, the Fire Ponies had expanded their lead to 10-0, and were well on their way to another score.

Early in the second quarter, quarterback Score threw a short 4 yard pass to Hoops for another touchdown to give the Equestrian States a dominant 17-0 lead. Five minutes later, Graphite caught his own TD pass to extend that lead to 24-0. Finally, as the clock wound down to halftime, Blackstone pounded through a 58 yard field goal to make the score 27-0.

After halftime, Head Coach Crafty Crate sent his back-ups onto the field to preserve the energy and health of his most valuable starters. Yet, even without their best players on the field, the Fire Ponies' defense was absolutely lights-out, sending the visitors home with a measly 180 yards of offense on the night. The final blow to the team from Sibirsky came in the form of a 24 yard fourth quarter interception return by Ace for a touchdown.

Truly, nopony could have asked for more from the Fire Ponies' who will now travel to face Ironite, a low-ranked team which dominated its unranked opponent to open their World Bowl.

Rodamn
Yeah, that was a bad pun, yawannafightaboutit?

By Jonathan Umadden

Yeowch. Not the way the Ironworkers wanted to start of their "home" World Bowl, with a heartbreaker loss to a relatively unknown team. The only redeeming fact is that Rodard had home-field advantage, and their fans where some of the loudest I'd ever had the displeasure of spending several hours in the midst of. The excessive crowd noise seemed to be getting to Garret Norris, who lost control early and often. He looked very uncomfortable in the pocket--which our offensive line was doing a great job supporting--and repeatedly wasted great opportunities. Wide open receivers were sent diving after botched passes or completely passed over in favor a closely-marked one, which at best resulted in a deflection (and several times in interception). The saving grace for the Ironworkers was Sticky Hooves making some tremendous catches on terrible passes, stringing a couple of improbable leaping one-handed grabs and catches-on-top-of-the-safeties to put them on the board first. Rodard responded immediately, however, and a special teams disaster turned the second-quarter kickoff return into an equalizer.

After that, the game's fate rested--as usual--on Ricky Ricketts' leg. A hoofful of decent runs by Light Step brought the Karditanis into the redzone twice (and only twice, for the rest of the game), both drives culminating in field goals. The Ironworkers defense held out well throughout the second, third, and most of the fourth, but tragedy stuck just after the final two-minute warning: defensive captain Lead Curtain had an awkward collision with a Rodard tight end and was put out of the game with a mild concussion. The trainer reports he'll be fine to play for the next Bowl match, but old Torra Barret had difficulty filling in the void. A slow, moving-the-chains type of drive followed for Rodard, and finished with their running back covering the final fifteen yards to the endzone as the clock hit 0:00. With the game sitting at 13-13, it all rested on the extra point--which Rodard's kicker nailed without issue. Hopefully the Ironworkers will have ironed out these issues when they take on the other projected bottom-feeder, Firiminaz, next week.

*Chad and JR are seen running away in some broken down city from giant cockroaches and zombies, both are in tattered armor and carrying lazerguns.

JR: Dude, I'm getting really tired of this.

Chad: I know JR, I know. We just have to find a way to open up another portal back home.

Jr: Who knows how long that will take bro. Oh gog the cockroaches are catching up!

It's The Angry Billy Show!

Billy: Welcome everyone to The Angry Billy Show! Where I talk about what I liked, and what I HATED about this week of football. So lets not waist any time.

Liked:

*The Rams won again this week against Eusk...Euskirribarr...Euskirribakondara? Euskirribakondara, why is that name so hard to say?! Anyways, we beat them 36-3.

*Despite not having as great a game as last week, Robert still threw for 311 yards and 2 TDs.

* Most importantly, the Rams once again scored the most in the group, putting them in first place in the group, with Cyborg Holland of all teams in second, and E.S in 3rd. They also have the most points scored of any team, which will also be nice if they can keep it up once seeding becomes important.

*Oh and A.S lost yesterdays game too, that's nice. ;)

HATED!!1

* Cafeno is still a bit off, not running as well as he should. With this being his 12th season as a high powered runner, one wonders if it's not a question of if he runs out of steam, but when.

* E.S has for a second time in a row, not given up a single point. These guys know what they are doing defensively, and you all know the coaches are watching their games, trying to figure out how they can prevent this from happening to them.

* Why is Cyborg Holland doing so good!? Do they even have a roster? How are the Rams suppose to get ready to face a good team, when they have no idea who they are even facing?

Billy: Anyways, that's all the time we have for today, I hope Zerabithea can find Jr and his friend, don't know how long I can go like this.

"That wasn't a loss, that was a mauling. In front of the home crowd as well."

Bobby Stevens sighed. "We expected it to happen. Still doesn't make it better, though. We're flying out soon, and I need a shower." With that, he got up and left the rest of the coaching staff behind to lick their wounds.

In all truth, the word mauling was about as accurate as one could get. To only put up a single scoring play in an entire match, and too little too late, was shocking. The 2-pt conversion on top was the crowning glory of the Strettan match. The only reason they left their own half was because of a special teams play. Meanwhile, Darmen showed Stretta how the big boys did it. 3 TDs, 2 FGs and a safety. Watching Hodges drilled into the end-zone paint by the defense was not a welcome sight for anyone involved. Except Darmen.

Stevens was in the shower. If the team can get .500, we might not make it through, but it will be an achievement. Stevens hadn't had that mentality since he coached in college. From there, he stepped right out of college and into the SFL, where he took 2 teams to 4 titles, 3 with the same team in the space of 4 years, and finished his SFL career with a .753 record. It was the highest ever seen in the SFL. He hadn't had a losing season in pro-football, yet.

The truth was, .571 was the best that Stretta could hope for. A wild card would be an achievement, but it would be hard earned.

The Late Show, with Damian Reevus wrote:Darmen really showed the Strettan team how to play a game of football, but let's just put this in to perspective. It is only the 2nd ever game that Stevens has lost with this team. Let's say that again. 0.833 winning percentage. Admittedly, if they don't shape up soon, that number is going to come plummeting down to earth faster than Charlie Hodges. <laughter> Did you see Hodges as he got up covered in blue paint? It was like the open wound of a dying animal. In fact, he spent more time on the ground than he did standing. <cut to VT>

Hodges was at home, waiting for his car to the airport. He watched the comedy reel on TV, seeing him take sack after sack, and then finally, a sack in the endzone. They had that cheap toy piano music, the kind heard at the circus, playing behind it. This was embarassing.

Still bruised and battered, he got up from the sofa and saw the car outside of the window. He flicked the TV off, grabbed his wallet and keys from the coffee table, and opened the door. The driver was making his way up the path, with Julian Timmen in tow. "What are you doing here?"

"Y'know, just came to see my QB before the next match. I wanted to run through some new plays in the book with you."

This is the worst part of my job. Hodges contemplated buying a new place closer to the airport. That way, he wouldn't have to look at these stupid diagrams for half an hour. "Designed QB runs? What is this? You know I play out of the pocket."

Coach's Notebook : Good Starts

It was imperative for the team to get a good start in this campaign. This is our thirteenth World Bowl, and expectations keep growing. Not to mention that a lot of the guys are superstitious. Certain players in particular needed to impress, and some of them did.

Harrison Ryan and Thomas Thompson maintained their redzone efficiency ratings with a touchdown each, justifying their selections. It is only a matter of time before teams begin to prepare for them in scoring situations, though. I was impressed with Alexander Hayes during his brief appearance on the field. He had four carries in the final quarter and accumulated over thirty yards. He clearly possesses the strength to bull through defenders, and with a strong fullback ahead of him in Zane Daley (as it was on this occasion) I have no concerns regarding his long-term viability at running back for the Firebirds.

Luke was a little underwhelming, though solid overall. He will not find it easier as time progresses, and though I am acutely aware of the pressure he faces, I cannot afford to be seen to be lenient towards him. His 25 completions for 286 yards would normally be considered a good return, but he is not a regular quarterback, and he was facing a defensive unit of little experience. A truly elite quarterback -- which is what he aspires to, and what I believe he can become -- could have put up much better numbers.

On the defensive side of things, Antonio Martinez continues to show why he is one of the best leaders Osarian gridiron has ever produced. His two sacks came at crucial times in the fourth quarter, when Korena threatened to make a comeback of sorts. The first was a brutal hit, coming after he flattened his blocker, and considering Martinez tends to rely on his speed, it was a pleasant surprise.

Our starting cornerback duo of Cleaver and Kopumava have either developed a fearsome reputation, or Korena much prefer their ground game. I'm inclined to believe the former, as Korena made some large strides through the air in the fourth quarter, when Valentin and Kennedy were on the field. There were few passes thrown in the vicinity of either Cleaver or Kopumava through the first half, and I doubt I would have made many passes their way myself. Cleaver's jamming made it difficult to time any passes to his receiver's route, while Kopumava is, in my opinion, among the best in the world at the position. Their backups, the veteran Bradley Thomas and second year pro Hi'ro Manaka'li made an impressive tandem too. Manaka'li showed great instincts and athleticism to collect two interceptions in his solitary quarter on the field.

Two Wins on Trot for Subramani

Period 1Period 2Period 3Period 4OTTotal
German American States0000-0
Subramani0066-12

Subramani won a low scoring game against German American Republic to win their second consecutive game of the World Bowl. Both the teams’ defense was good today, with no touchdowns being scored on the entire match. In fact, neither team was able to score any points in the first two periods, as there was turn over after turn over. Offense of both the teams looked off color.

In the third period, Subramani changed strategy to try and attempt field goals whenever possible as they were not able to score touchdowns. It helped them score 2 field goals each in third and fourth period, thus helping them win this low scoring encounter.

In the next match, Subramani will play its first difficult encounter of this world bowl, meeting 9th ranked team in the World, Cosumar, who have also won their first two encounters as expected. Subramani’s coach Gary told his team would try their best to compete against the best teams in the world. He also praised Anish Kumar who was responsible for scoring all the 4 field goals in the second game.

Saintland defeats Gzbfernigambia 26 to 11

(SP) In an unsurprising result, the Kingdom of Saintland defeated an unranked opponent today. Although it was a victory, the Sanctii will not be happy with having to settle for 4 Philippus Francus field goals on the day in addition to just 2 touchdowns. It is indeed worrying that the Kingdom of Saintland could not score more points against such a poor team as Gzbfernigambia. "Today, we established the run early and we had some success offensively. I am satisfied that conceded just a single turnover today. However, I am worried that we did not do a better job of scoring points. If we can only put the ball in the end zone twice against Gzbfernigambia, how do we expect to score points against Equestrian States? At least we still have time to get in rhythm before we have to face tough opposition. Maybe we'll be a better team offensively playing in front of the Royal Stadium crowd. I hope so." - Prince Petrus

This game did not start as intended for the Sanctii. The kick coverage unit conceded a kickoff return for a touchdown on the opening kickoff. Petrus Roscius embarrassingly missed an easy tackle and their kick returner found his way into the end zone. Gzbfernigambia faked an extra point and used a screen pass from the holder to score a 2 point conversion. The home team led 8 to nothing. Then, the Sanctii failed to answer, as the Gzbfernigambian defense forced a punt around midfield.

Late in the 1st quarter, Prince Petrus finally got a breakthrough on the legs of Andreas Tuccius. Tuccius took the handoff on 2nd and 8 from his own 32 yard line. He ran through a Gzbfernigambian linebacker and was gone into the next level. 2 defensive backs eventually dragged him down, but they did so at around the 37 yard line. Prince Petrus called play action and the defense had to bite on it or risk another big run. This allowed Prince Petrus to complete a corner route to Matthaeus Favonius. Favonius was forced out of bounds at the 18 yard line. Tuccius picked up 3 yards on a handoff and Prince Petrus tossed a touchdown pass to Matthaeus Epidius. After the extra point, Gzbfernigambia was ahead 8 to 7. The score would remain 8 to 7 after the first quarter came to an end.

In the 2nd quarter, the Sanctii defense forced a fumble near midfield. Georgius Didius sacked their quarterback, knocked the ball out and fell on it. Prince Petrus led his team out. They drove the ball downfield, primarily on the ground, but Alessandro Ancharius was stuffed on 3rd and 1 at the 21 yard line. That brought out Philippus Francus. Francus booted it through the uprights. Saintland led 10 to 8. After forcing a punt, Prince Petrus once again took the field. However, he tossed an interception on his first pass and a corner for Gzbfernigambia returned it to the 17 yard line. After failing to do anything offensively, Gzbfernigambia booted a field goal to take an 11 to 10 lead.

This lead would not last. With 45 seconds on the clock and no time outs left, Prince Petrus was pinned deep in his own territory. After unleashing a series of sideline passes to his receivers, Prince Petrus had moved the ball near midfield. He called another sideline route, but saw a receiver wide open downfield and decided to throw his way. Thomas Lusius caught the pass at the 5 yard line and was tackled immediately by a charging Gzbfernigambian safety. The clock ran down as Prince Petrus rushed to the line to spike the ball. He just got the spike off, leaving just 2 seconds on the clock. Philippus Francus came on to try a field goal. He kicked it through the uprights. Saintland led 13 to 11 at the half.

The Sanctii got the ball to start the 3rd quarter. Prince Petrus came out throwing and got into field goal range. On first down and 10 from the 33, Prince Petrus's pass intended for Ioannes Lusius was batted away by a corner. On 2nd and 10, Prince Petrus had plenty of time and he eventually found Petrus Maximius downfield. Maximius evaded a tackler and crossed the goal line. However, the referee had thrown a flag for holding. The 10-yard penalty was enforced, setting up 2nd and 20. On 2nd and 20, A Prince Petrus screen pass intended for Maximius was not thrown accurately and landed on the turf. That set up 3rd and 20. Prince Petrus called an intermediate route, attempting to set up a field goal rather than a first down. He found Lucis Herius in the middle of the field and Herius added a few yards after the catch. He was tackled at the 30 yard line in the middle of the field, bringing out Philippus Francus for a field goal attempt. The hold was perfect and Francus's kick was long and accurate. The Gzbfernigambian fans watched helplessly as it sailed through the uprights to give the Kingdom of Saintland a 16 to 11 lead.

For a while, neither team moved the ball into scoring position. Gzbfernigambia's offense remained as inept as it had been all day long and the Sanctii were forced to punt a few times. After 3, the score was Saintland 16, Gzbfernigambia 11. Early in the 4th quarter, the Sanctii defense forced yet another punt and Nicolaus Lusius broke away. Lusius looked like he was going to score a touchdown, but he was brought down inside the 5. Prince Petrus led his team out onto the field. On first day, he handed off to Tuccius. Tuccius was tackled short of the end zone. On second down, Prince Petrus handed it to Ancharius. Ancharius was also tackled short of the end zone. On 3rd down, he called play action and threw a wild pass that landed out of the end zone. Philippus Francus came on and kicked the field goal to put the Kingdom of Saintland up 19 to 11.

Gzbfernigambia still had hopes of tying this game and sending it into overtime. That was not to be. The Gzbfernigambian offense was stopped and they punted it away, figuring they'd have plenty of time. The punt sailed over the head of Nicolaus Lusius and ended up being downed at the 7 yard line. From his own 7 yard line, Prince Petrus took the field with intentions of grinding out the clock. Using his running backs, he called running play after running play and used the entire 40 seconds on the play clock. Gzbfernigambia could not stop the Sanctii running backs at this particular moment, but they also did not allow a big play. As the plays piled up, the clock evaporated. Soon, Andreas Tuccius would run for a first down and goal. This time around, Prince Petrus just kept calling Tuccius runs up the middle at the goal line. On 3rd down, he finally crossed into the end zone. Francus kicked the extra point and the Kingdom of Saintland led 26 to 11 with a minute to go. Gzbfernigambia had used all of their time outs, so this one was over. A sack by Thomas Calventius and a game-ending sack by Georgius Didius ran out the clock. Saintland had won a game in the World Bowl.

When time had expired, Andreas Tuccius had rushed 33 times on the day for 178 yards and a touchdown. Petrus Maximius had run 10 times for 58 yards. Prince Petrus had 168 passing yards, a touchdown and an interception. He had also rushed for 31 yards on the day. Georgius Didius had 4 sacks on the day and had a forced fumble and fumble recovery. Although Prince Petrus had not had a strong day, the rushing attack had been more than sufficient to carry this team to victory against a weak opponent.

With the victory, the Sanctii are now 1-1 in World Bowl competition, tied for 4th in the group. Equestrian States shut out Ironite 10-0, which placed the Kingdom of Saintland in a tie with them. Currently, Ironite has the tiebreaker. German Zerabithea crushed Euskirribakondara 36 to 3. Cyborg Holland defeated Sibirsky 27 to 7. This puts German Zerabithea ahead of Cyborg Holland by 1 point in the tiebreaker. Equestrian States is 3rd, having not allowed a point so far. Tomorrow, the Kingdom of Saintland faces winless Euskirribakondara at Royal Stadium. This game will be broadcast on Royal One, but we want a sellout crowd for this game. Tomorrow's game is against the team seeded 7th in the group, so this is another game that the Sanctii should win and it is one that they will need to win if they hope to stay competitive in the toughest World Bowl group.

At their compound, the members of Feministvs Sanctvsterra were plotting for the upcoming World Bowl game between Saintland and Euskirribakondara. The woman known as "Agrippina," who had captained the group's champion korfball team was the ringleader.

Agrippina - Be ready for tomorrow. This time, we aren't going to get snowed in.

Iulietta - I still can't believe that April snowstorm.

Maria - At least their precious "God" didn't "Will" the oppressors into the World Cup.

Agrippina - I know. I wouldn't have been able to stand that sight.

Iulietta - So, what plan are we going with?

Agrippina described what they were going to do.

Martha - If we go with that one, we'll need to sacrifice some recruits into the hands of the oppressors.

Iulietta - You're right. There is no way they're getting out of there safely.

Agrippina - What matters isn't your individual comfort. What matters is our cause, which is the cause of every woman in this rotten Patriarchal Kingdom.

Georgius - But most of the women don't seem to be on our side.

Iulietta - Georgius, you should know by now that they appear to support their own oppression because they have false consciousness. Haven't you learned anything from Marx and Hegel?

Georgius - I tried reading them, but I couldn't figure out what they had to do with our movement for women's equality.

Maria - You just don't get it.

Agrippina - Georgius, you need to stop looking at the world in a privileged male way and start looking at it from a feminist perspective.

Georgius - I understand. I just can't help it, I guess.

Agrippina - Back to our main point. What we need to do is raise awareness about the oppression of women in this Kingdom. We need the international community to take our side so we can bring down the Church of Lies and its Puppet King.

Iulietta - That's been our goal all along. I wish I could be one of the participants tomorrow.

Agrippina - We all do, but we know too much. We need to use recruits, preferably ones that don't even know the locations of our compounds yet. We can't risk valuable information falling into enemy hands.

Iulietta - I understand that.

Maria - Even if it looks like we're putting new recruits in harm's way, we're not asking them to do anything we wouldn't do ourselves.

Agrippina - Actually, the recruits are, as you know, the decoy.

Iulietta - We've got our own mission tomorrow.

Maria - The False Church won't know what hit them.

Martha - Just make sure all of the police are away from the Cathedral.

Agrippina - That is part of the plan.

Iulietta - Now, we just need to figure out who we should bring along on our mission.

Maria - I have some ideas.

They plotted what they were going to do during the World Bowl game tomorrow. They hoped their plan would work because it was one of their riskiest schemes yet...
