сверхдальнобойная
It appeared on a Russian article on the Koksan SPG, as a descriptor. Google offers no translation, only a romanisation to sverhdalnoboynaya.

Funnily enough, would you happen to know anything about the Koksan's gun? Global Security theorises that the odd calibre (170mm) could be telling of a previous existence as Russian naval gun or coastal artillery. Being in the Naval Infantry, I wouldn't know if you'd know all that much about navy artillery, but always worth a shot, aye :P

Ready to laugh?
Thats a typo.
"Super long range", or "Extreme range"

As for the Koksan, you dont mean that damned North Korean Artillery gun, do you?
If you do...well...heh.

I think it looks beautiful and want to take the concept - a lolhueg 170mm long-barrel gun on a tank chassis (the 1978 one, the 1989 version is mounted on something resembling an MTLB and looks nowhere near as cool) - and use it as an NBC-lobbing artillery piece.

In fairness, it was combat proven in the Iran-Iraq War. The Iranians used it to shell Iraqi artillery positions and staging areas well to the rear, on account of their 60km range - to great effect, so it was reported.
It's also quite interesting in the '78 model utilising a pepperpot muzzle brake, which is supposedly a highly efficient design on large-calibre guns.

Heres everything I know about it.

The first use of it was in the Iran-Iraq war and with good effect. It has a very long range, but a immensely slow rate of fire due to the nature of the Norths manufacturing ability. Janes is correct and incorrect: The Type 59 chassis was the base, but the T-62s chassis also saw some use. It has a tendency to actually break when firing on occasion. The gun itself I believe is a Russian naval gun that was used on a coastal and large naval battery. While I wasn't a historical officer I always found the stuff cool, and the 170mm battery escapes my brain as to what it was used for specifically, though if I had to take a guess it was from the 1940s to the 60s. The guns rear stabilizers are both something like 183kg or so. The muzzle device is based of the 152mm break for the ISU and the like. The ammunition is really big. Its top speed is closer ot 42 or 48 km/h. Its crew is...9? A driver, three loaders, a gunner, an assistant gunner, a radioman, an technician, and a commander. I think. The range of 60km is accurate, but stretching it. 55km would be more appropriate.

Interesting thing. I am now holding 2 .38 Spec bullet's i fired 10 min's ago. I can see why the police upgraded to .357... After 1 inch of fiber board and 2 1/10th slices of aluminium it was stopped by the 2nd piece of fiber board.
The other completely in shape was stopped dead on the ground after digging through 3 inches of fiber board.

I thought you already had the Case Length stat, since all you were doing was making the Second Optimum load hotter?
OAL shouldn't change too much from the original, ideally. Otherwise interchanging would become difficult.

The idea was actually to make it slightly shorter, the walls thicker, the shoulders less angled, and THEN give it a hotter load.
EDIT: I don't know how much shorter to go though. I want it to still be in the 2900-3000fps range.

Threads stay forever and can be searched, addressed and linked to as well as bookmarked. IRC can't. So for a serious discussion on firearms or anything that will need referencing threads are superior.

IRCs are godly useful, so long as you're in them and paying attention.
People then tend to discuss in threads what was discussed in IRC, so you'll never be wholly out of the loop, and it'd help curtail some of the lolspeed with which we go through the MMW threads these days.

And that's the thing. The moment you can't access IRC for some reason or just don't have the time to be heavily active there you are screwed. The thread, no matter how fast is still manageable in that I can bookmark where I stopped and continue on reading from there when I am back.

Plus IRC's have a nasty tendency to completely overtake the threads and kill them. I have seen it happen.
