The Wyverns

The Staff

Coaching Staff
Head Coach
Donald Hemlock-Donald Hemlock has been head coach of the Wyverns for the past 8 years. Donald Hemlock's career is legendary in the nation of Jedi8246. Known as the head coach of the Newport Thunder, his skills are amazing. The Thunder won three championships straight under his tenure. Hemlock had retired afterwards to spend more time with his family. However after the Wyverns were formed, Donald was asked to coach and he gladly stepped up to fill the position. Donald Hemlock has announced this will be his final year coaching the team. The coaching career has faced it's own variety of highs and lows. He managed to qualify in World Cup 60. The momentum built up was lost as Jedi8246 had to sit out of World Cup 61. Though Hemlock has managed to create some good regular seasons in 62 and 63, he has failed to qualify either time. Coach Hemlock intends to make his final attempt here before passing the reigns off.

Assistant Coach
Tarry Hemer- Tarry Hemer has gladly coached the Wyverns with Hemlock for seven years now. With Hemlock's oncoming retirement, he is fully expected to take the head coaching job next year. And for good reason. He is the Head Coach of the Kellington Shamrocks, the most recent national champions. Hemer now holds two national championships and it shows in the Wyverns. He has contributed his own offensive plays that have helped create goals on multiple occasions. Tarry hopes that his final year alongside Hemlock will be a fruitful one.

Management
Manager
George Thomas-George Thomas is the nation's finest showcase of management talent. Having managed the Wyverns since their inception for World Cup 56, his eight year career has been a solid one if not flashy. Thomas helped build the team up and is still acclaimed for his head coach selection of Donald Hemlock. Thomas came into fame under his management of the Harper Jackals. Though the Jackals only produced one championship under his management, they made the playoffs every year. This is largely a result of his faith in coaching staff. He has never fired a coach, only picking new ones after they retire. Some criticize this method as foolish, but one cannot deny the stability inherent in his organizations. This stability has allowed the Wyverns to become the team they are today. Perhaps this will be the year it pays off in a world championship.

Asst. Manager
Robert Godfrey- Robert Godfrey has been the assistant manager of the Wyverns for two years now. Godfrey's sharp instincts for player selection has been clear in his domestic career. Godfrey took the Charleston Rangers to a playoff team from being the worst team in the league in only five years. Despite this success, he is still overshadowed by previous manager Mikael Gibbons. Gibbons is still fondly remembered even three years later. His brutal murder in the Red Rat killings was a tragedy for the nation as a whole. Godfrey has helped pick up two new players this year who will perhaps help him come out from under the shadow of Gibbons.

The Players

Keepers
Dan Triboult (Starter)- Dan Triboult. What can't be said about the man. The four time Pro Bowl Keeper has had an amazing career. Having been part of both Kellington Shamrocks championship teams, his talent is clear. Triboult always seems to be aware of what is happening on field. This has allowed him to make up for not being the fastest of players. He constantly seeks to improve himself during games. Dan has announced this is his final year of football. Triboult has already retired from the domestic leagues and will now contribute his talent to the Wyverns one last time.

Leontes Guilga (Back-Up)-Leontes Guilga has come a long way from his rookie year for the Dadisman Spartans. Leontes started as a slow if strong keeper and has now developed into one of the premier players in the league. Now in his third year on the Wyverns roster, Leontes is ready to take over the starting position. The brutal and rough player is ready to take out anyone who comes his way. Guilga has stated he will prepare for every game like he is the starter so he is ready to take the field if Triboult is hurt.

Backs
JhorDan Sykes (Left Fullback)-JhorDan Sykes is one of the many players who has been on the Wyverns since the team's creation. Sykes placement on the team is largely attributed to his amazing rookie season with the Dadisman Spartans where he earned rookie of the year. Sykes has become one of the most well rounded players in the league and was in the running for league MVP this year. He helps characterize the Spartan way with his rough and brutal style of play, a style that has upset the refs on many occasions.

Donol Adamson (Left Center Back)- Donol Adamson is the new starting left center back. Donol has spent eight years on the team as an all around back up player. Though his international playing time has been limited, in the domestic league he has started for the Towson Crows for five years now. Adamson is an odd player in that while he is not flashy or known for huge steals, he is a play maker in many ways. His unorthodox movement style has confused many a striker and allowed his teammates to take the ball from opponents. The Towson Crows great defense for the past two years has been attribute to him for this reason. Donol is looking to prove his talent for the Wyverns and keep his starting position.

Acacius Fell (Right Center Back)-Acacius is a third year member of the Wyverns out of the Dadisman Spartans. Like all the other Spartans, he is a brutally hard hitting player. Fell is well known as one of the fastest players out there capable of rushing any attacker and taking him out. This was seen last year complimented by his fellow Spartan. With Quintus gone, it will be interesting to see how he complements the team's newest recruit.

Jason Bond (Right Fullback)- Jason Bond is the newest member of the Wyverns. Recruited by Godfrey, Jason comes from the Lovington Raiders. The Lovington Raiders recently won their division, though mainly for offensive purposes. They actually had one of the weaker defenses in the league which makes this recruitment rather odd. Bond has started for the Raiders for three years now and has not much to show for it. Though arguably the best defensive player on that team, Jason has no special skills that make him stand out. Replacing Quintus Marks, the Spartan who has played for the Wyverns for eight years and complemented his fellow Acacius extremely well, is an odd choice for the management and coaching. Marks is sitting out this year due to a season ending injury during the domestic season. What Bond will show this year is a mystery to everyone.

Midfielders
Fiona Dowell (Left Midfield)-Fiona Dowell is now entering her third year on the Wyverns. Dowell joined the team last year when the Wyverns expanded to include both sexes. A member of the Washington Royals and former league MVP, she is a lean and agile player who took the Royals back to the championship this past year and winning it. She has proven just as valuable to the Wyverns and will now serve alongside her fellow Royals player in the midfield.

Jennifer Harley(Center Midfield)- Jennifer Harley is one of the other incoming players to the Wyverns this year recruited by Godfrey. She was the rookie star of the Royals this year who came out of nowhere. Considered a perfect compliment to Fiona Dowell, the pairs chemistry helped take the Royals all the way. She replaces the retiring Kris Hutchenson, a Gotham Knight who suddenly retired after last year's failed qualification run. Harley is a very well rounded player whose presence as the second female member of the team comes as no surprise. The Wyverns midfield is now a very legitimate tool to be used on offense with Harley present.

Sam Leon (Right Midfield)- Sam Leon is an eight year man of the Wyverns. Still known as the only member of the Wyverns not to have played in the domestic leagues, he has become one of the team's best assets. Sam has turned down all attempts by domestic teams to pick him up, instead dedicating himself fully to the Wyverns. It has payed off as he perhaps knows the Wyverns plays better than any other member of team. He completes the star studded midfield which will be a force to be reckoned with this year.

Forwards
Manny Hem (Right Forward)- The oldest member of the legendary Hem brothers, Manny Hem is a skilled player. The famed Hem brothers helped carry the Kellington Shamrocks to their second championship in the last decade. The brothers who have played together since childhood known each other better than anyone. The forwards are the most accurate passers in the nation and perhaps the world. Manny's great reach allows him to be the most frequent scorer of the brothers and to dominate the right side of the field. Manny retired from the domestic leagues however and is considering retiring from the Wyverns after this year, much to the dismay of his brothers and teammates.

Nicolas Hem (Center Forward)-Nicolas is the middle age brother and the fastest of the trio. A small man he was often underestimated early in his career, which was a huge mistake. He helps coordinate every attack by quickly passing the ball between his two brothers. Nicolas navigates around backs that his brothers couldn't and sets the ball up for either Manny or Charles to score. The likely retirement of his oldest brother has him worried as he has yet to play in a game situation without Manny.

Charles Hem (Left Forward)-The youngest and strongest Hem Brother, Charles looks and plays like a Spartan. Known for injuring more players than anyone in the game, Charles is a rough player. Unlike Nicolas, he seems unworried about Manny's oncoming retirement. This is perhaps because is the most expendable of the trio. He sits on the sidelines often due to freuqent yellow and red cards. His confidence could perhaps be misplaced as Manny is the largest scorer on the team. Without Manny, Charles rough and tough play style may be more of a problem than an asset.

Brian Kilkenny (Back-Up)-Brian Kilkenny has been the renowned offensive back-up for seven years. In a bizarre fusion of the Hem's skills into one player, he is the most well rounded offensive player in the nation. While capable of subbing for any of the Hem brothers, he has only ever subbed in for the two younger brothers, usually Charles who is out for penalties. Manny's resistance to injury has been amazing. Kilkenny's value has only gone up has he led the Gators to the playoffs for the first time in 15 years. The Tile Gators can no longer be considered the worse team in the league anymore and it's all due to Brian's loyalty to the team. Such loyalty is present for the Wyverns as well, whose willingness to play back-up for so long will be payed off by likely start next year after Manny retires.

All three bench players are all new picks by George Thomas. Coming from an assortment of teams, they are all prepared to fill in wherever they are needed.

Injured Reserve
Quintus Marks (Right Fullback)- Quintus Marks has played for the Wyverns for eight years now. A season ending injury in the domestic year means he is unable to play for the Wyverns, though he is still on the roster. Marks's replacement Bond has a tough guy to replace. Marks is a brutal and talented defensive player and member of the Dadisman Spartans. He has the small chance of coming back late in the season, though it is highly unlikely.

Osarius Squad for World Cup 64

Manager: Amandeep Sahota
The recent phenomenon in Osarius that caused a large number of people to exist in an odd form of semi-conscious stasis* has perhaps benefited Sahota more than anyone. Rumour had it that he was nearing retirement after Osarius' appearance in the second round of the World Cup last time out. The OFA convinced him to "give it one more go", as he says, before he calls it a day and hangs up his duffle coat. Sahota's talents in teambuilding have seen him take an Osarius side further than any would have predicted possible, and with fresh players emerging -- and benefiting from effectively earning two years of experience without really aging -- some have speculated that he might be able to take Osarius even further.

Assistant Manager: Ishmael Walker
Walker's repaired reputation as a coach in Osarius is still rising, and he is currently the favourite to take over from Sahota when he steps down. The former under-21 coach handles the majority of the team's training sessions, and has formed a very strong bond with several regular starters. He works closely with Osarius' academy director at Mount Crown, and thus has had a big hand in the development of many of the emerging young players in the current squad.

Coaches: Maurice Simmons, Jeffrey Allen, Gerald Cole
These guys have been in the national team setup for so long, nobody even thinks to question it anymore. It's doubtful whether the OFA even realises they're still on the payroll, really. All three are vastly experienced though, and very knowledgeable, making them valuable -- if seldom seen -- members of the Osarius backroom staff.

Specialist Coaches: Onyibo Oduoza (goalkeeping), Claudio Traga (fitness)
Both Oduoza and Traga have reputations for using unorthodox methods to get good results. It's unlikely there are better men for their jobs available within Osarius, and frankly, the OFA's reluctance to search for alternatives is borne out of a part-xenophobic, part-"look-at-us-we've-got-progressive-coaches" mentality. Of course, this begs the question of why Oswaldo Garabona felt it necessary to go to Free South Califas to get employment, but that's a digression. Traga's fitness regimes are constantly evolving, and it seems that at any given time, 50% of all gym-goers or fitspos in Osarius are on one of his training programs. Oduoza on the other hand, despite his advancing years dulling his own reflexes, maintains a remarkable ability to read the game and pinpoint, then eliminate, flaws in young goalkeepers. Most within the professional game consider him Osarius' best goalkeeping coach since the legendary Enzo Corradini.

Medical Staff: Daniel Chambers (physiotherapist), Dr. Sarah Bocchetti (team doctor)
The two medical staff have built up an incredible degree of trust with not just the players, but also the other coaching staff in the national team setup over the past thirty years, and it's hard to imagine their apprentices taking over. They do have apprentices, though. Understudies, if you like. People who are shadowing and learning from them, whatever the official term should be, anyway. Dr Bocchetti's expertise extend beyond conventional medicine, too, as seen in the role she played in addressing the mental health issues of Alessandro di Corradi.

Traditionally the Ancharmunn & Aels team has had two different home kits, one for playing in Ancharmunn and one for playing in Aels. However in a move that hasn't gone down particularly well in the later nation the NSB upon taking control of the team has decided to dispense with the Aelsh kit. Thus the team will play mainly in a red and green kit inspired by the Charmunnry flag. When playing away from home and in the instance of a kit clash they will play in a predominantly white kit that also uses elements of the Charmunnry flag.

Stadia

In another break from tradition introduced by the NSB the habit of Ancharmunn using various club grounds for home games will be dispensed with. Instead all games will be played in the two newly constructed national stadiums of the two capitals of Tyneala. In Ancharmunn the National Stadium in Ballyfeeaknock will be used, whilst in Aels the New Free Stone Stadium, recent host of the Rushmori Games will be used. A Bit About the Team: The Basque National Football Team owes its existence to one man: head coach Ander Arrigorriagakoa. Ander is a rather unremarkable 31 year-old lawyer and avid football fanatic, who is lucky enough to be the nephew of Udane Arrigorriagakoa, the nation's beloved, 71 year old Premier. Ander had found the life of a lawyer quite dull, and had cultivated a secret passion for football going back to his youth. He was able to convince his uncle to fund the creation of a Basque team, under his leadership. In doing so, both Ander and his main backer, the People's Commissar of Culture, made bold predictions about their team's prospects. After dropping in the round of 16 during the Baptism of Fire, the Premier is less than happy with his nephew's performance. If things go well, this nobody and his team could become national celebrities. If not... they may find that there are always consequences for one's failures...

1- Bai'a KITA
Height: 183cm - Weight: 78kg – Age: 33 years old - Team: FC Mando
A goalkeeper who is known for having a short attention span, Kita is the epitomy of a Mandalorian goalkeeper: Known for taking excessive risks, bum-rushing an opponent to make a distant steal and playing on the rim of the box, Kita is a gamble in any game he appears in.

Initially, when Kita first was chosen as the starting keeper, his form was less chiseled than his predecessor. However, now, four cups later, Kita has developed into a first-rate keeper, and as such, has officially earned the position of Starter.

22- CHU Takumi

Who was once the third-line goalkeeper for the National team now sits in the second chair. In his first cap against the Archregimacy, with the Bisons down 1-3, Chu would step between the poles and manage to block seventeen shots on goal through the second half and keep the game down.

Known as “Damage Control” by his teammates, Chu sees play whenever Kita breaks down on the pitch; some even think Chu is more skilled than his starting counterpart. However, with the starting Kita gaining more and more experience in age, and the recent trade of Chu from Ba Sing Se to RC United, it is evident that there is much for the young Omashuan to learn.

33- SHU Guatami
Height: 178cm - Weight: 79kg – Age: 20 years old - Team: University of Omashu
Shu Guatami is the first player from the Travelling Corps to become a full-fledged member of the Bisons. Having just been accepted on a full-scholarship to the premier football school in the Republics, Shu continues to enjoy the success befitting a player who loss just six games in the four years of his high school career.

Reminiscent of Nishimura’s original style of play --- agile and able to jump on the rebound --- Shu is still mentored by the original Bison keeper, both at UO and on the National Team. Perhaps that is why his style continue to reflect the heritage of the Bisons. Having had his first two appearances in World Cup 63, Shu is expected to make a similar showing in this World Cup.

Brought along the last two World Cup, Ji Liangzu and Feng Taoli have continued to prosper at home; with Feng finding his collegiate home in Ba Sing Se, making a strong showing in his first season as the second-string starter for the premier squad. Ji, however, has had slightly less luck, landing a third-rate position at a Division B school. Even with the Traveling Corps position on his resume, his secondary performance at Mount Sheng High School was less-than-stellar, Vhett stands by Nishimura Renshin’s belief in the young boy. Yet, the addition of the very young Aki Kio’los from the premier football school in the Mandalorian territories shows that at least there is a back-up.

2- MIYAMOTO Kaoru
Height: 187cm - Weight: 82kg – Age: 29 years old - Team: Kuruk FC
A big defender with the skills to back up his talk, Miyamoto Kaoru is an impressive specimen of a defender. Playing for arguably one of the best teams in the RPFL has hardened this man into an imposing wall of strength on the backfield. Prepare to see plenty of tackles, shoves and general rough play from a man who grew up playing meshgeroya; an Avatarian variation of football also known as 'limmie' or 'bolo-ball'.

12- AKIYAMA Qiangyi

Much like Miyamoto, Akiyama is a no-nonsense player. He has no problem laying an opponent out for a fowl, and as such as earned the most red cards in a single season by any player in the Modern Era (12) as well as garnishing multiple suspensions. He is a rough player who pairs perfectly with Miyamoto and the two have earned the moniker, ”The Dueling Mandos” by the media.

16- ZHANG Jijian
Height: 178cm - Weight: 75kg – Age: 27 years old - Team: Southern AFC
A young player who was drafted seven seasons ago to the Premier Cup champions RC United, Zhang is developing into a strong player with still room for improvement. Since World Cup 62, Zhang has left RC United after six seasons and found a new home in Southern AFC, adding an option defender to the normally-offensively minded team. While he lacks the size of Akiyama and Miyamoto, he most certainly does not lack on the heart: During practice skirmishes, Zhang is often found opposite Miyamoto and has thrown himself full-force into the 'Mando Mauler', only to receive a week-ending injury as a parting gift.

Central Defenders
5- KIM Dong Su
Height: 178cm - Weight: 75kg – Age: 30 years old - Team: Island FC
Not a highly-rated player for the Bison defence, however, Kim has shown himself to be a surprise in many a games; a fine defensive player, Kim is also a very good option for the full-back position when results are needed. He supports the offence well, with very strong passing and marking skills. Following his trade from Ba Sing Se UNITED to Island FC, Kim has continued to develop into a great central defender; something which the Bison’s new strategy will welcome immensely.

Outside the stadium, Kim is the morale of the team. Often telling jokes and giving out care packages, he is loved by the fans and by the media for his often-spirited antics and interviews.

15- WONG Haru
Height: 185cm - Weight: 83kg – Age: 24 years old - Team:FC Itakawai

Given his size, one would expect Wong to have a style of play more similar to Fujimoto. However, growing up playing in the offensive-orientated Earth Kingdom's LEAGUE ROYALE shaped Wong into a speed-demon in the body of a tank. He is quick to run, able to outpace many of his teammates and overtake many of his opponents. His endurance is bar-none the best of the team, which Coach Vhett attributes to his genes; the son of a clone trooper with the Avatarian Republics' Mandalorian Corps, Wong shares similar genetics to several other players as well as Vhett himself.

Having graduated from the University of Kibago in 2012.3, Wong shocked the Republics when he chose to play for FC Itakawai down in the Southern Mandalorian Islands. Instead of playing for FC Mando, Southern AFC, or even the storied RC United, Wong chose the lower ranked Itakawai as a personal challenge; to bring this perennial underdog into the RPFL championships.

6- FUJIMOTO Zhong
Height: 175cm - Weight: 70kg – Age: 31 years old - Team: RC United
Extremely fast given his size, Fujimoto is a full-back more focused on the offence, and can have some minor difficulties when tasked with defence. Able to quickly counter any attack placed before him, Fujimoto serves as a valuable link between the offence and the defence. An excellent sniper, Fujimoto is one of the best free-kickers on the team, being able to take pieces with either pure technique, pure strength or a combination of the two; exceeding in both styles is a rare form in Avatarian football.

However, every gem has its imperfection and for Fujimoto, it is discipline. With such natural talent coming easy, Fujimoto has yet to truly have to work to exceed: Rather, he naturally falls into the game and succeeds at almost everything he does. However, with the years passing and Fujimoto gaining wisdom in his age, discipline is slowly coming to him.

Right Defenders:

13- BAO Yiyong
Height: 177cm - Weight: 76kg – Age: 26 years old - Team: Southern AFC

While certainly not the oldest player in the defence, Bao serves to give a bit of balance between the youth beneath him and the seniority above him. Following a trade from Kuruk FC to Southern AC, Bao found a new obsession in the form of his new teammates. Yet, he still has a tendency to indulge in a little too much liquor and little too many loose women.

While still not as strong as Kobayashi, Bao did appear in as many games as his counterpart due to WC60’s experiment in formations. However, with the Bisons returning to the familiar 4-4-2, Bao finds himself yet again on the alternate list.

3- KOBAYASHI Ren
Height: 187cm - Weight: 83kg – Age: 32 years old - Team: *Unsigned*
The veteran of the Defenders, Kobayashi is a mixture of strength, speed, technicality and violence. He is strong for his size, though the restraint he shows upon merging on an attacker is admirable. He is a bit of a 'bully', often provoking his opponent to the point of breaking just for the fun of it all.

However, this bully attitude of his has landed him in a bit of trouble with his former team, FC Beijing; after one post-season match, Kobayashi was enjoying the crowd when a member of Southern AFC decided he wasn’t too fond of Kobayashi’s goal in the game. A few punches later, and Beijing dropped Kobayashi, and as of now, he is still unsigned. Yet, that certainly doesn’t bother Vhett, who still invited him to the WC 63 squad.

23- XU Lingbo
Height: 183cm - Weight: 84kg – Age: 26 years old - Team: Makapu ERUPT

One of the more youth players on the team, Xu has fallen under the tutelage of Kobayashi, so much that the two right defenders room together on every road trip, visit one another during bye weeks and , when Xu was a student at RCSU, Kobayashi --- an Alumni of RCSU --- would constantly visit Xu to help him with his skills.

This tutelage has resulted in the shifting of Xu's skill-set, from more of a reserved full-back to a matured one, capable of running with his opponent, stealing the ball quick and passing it off up-pitch even faster. After being drafted out of college into Republic FC, a Taap-B team in the RPFL, Xu has continued to develop and last season was finally called up into the RPFL by Makapu ERUPT; making his first major league debut in a 3-nil victory over Solus FC.

The young travelling defencemen come from two distinctive backgrounds; wealth in the Earth Kingdom, or middle-class-spoiling in the Fire Nation. The three players from the Earth Kingdom come from three different Universities, each with different playing styles. Tanaka Daiki is the star of the Republic City State Republicans, having his second thirty goal season last year. Kato Tarou, on the other hand, is helping turn around the University of Omashu Badgermoles from a barely-winning season last year --- 8-7 in the regular season --- into a Championship threat. Zhou Juyun graduated last year and obtained a scholarship to Kibago University: Already, he is making a promising start, with the Kibago Gators at 5-1 for the first half of the season. As to the Fire Nation players, Suzuki Juro and Takashi Isamu have improved greatly since their last tour with the Bisons. Takashi has been helping Minato Community Secondary make it into the Kyotshi Prefecture State Championship series, making it all the way to the semi-finals before losing last season, and this season actually winning the Championship. Suzuki Juro, on the other hand, managed to come back from a serious high-ankle sprain and get accepted into RFSU, where he has yet to make the A-squad, but leads the B and often makes appearances as a substitute.

Defensive Midfielders:

7- MAKI Li
Height: 178cm - Weight: 76kg – Age: 31 years old - Team: Ba Sing Se UNITED
A veteran of the Grand Army of the Republic, Maki was shot with an assault rifle during a border dispute with the Charicific Valley which tore his left shoulder to shreds. Six months of physical therapy resulted in his retirement, however, Maki had a great passion in football; luckily for him, you don't need to use your arms in football. At 23, he was drafted by Ba Sing Se as a defensive midfielder and within the first six months of play, he established himself as a premier player. Being a veteran, he is often found with the other 'military players' on the team, notably Kad'e Tay'haai, Kotyc'e Bralor and Wong Haru. A result of his training, Maki is a very serious player, whose morale is spot-on and dedication to the team is second only to Vhett himself; this leads to him being liked a little less than most players, but since when has football been a popularity contest?

Last World Cup, with Vhett changing the starting line-up and main formations due to the influence of Assistant Coach Leifong Saikhan, Maki was able to rack up 8 goals in the twenty-one matches played; a career-high for the defensive midfielder.

4- Kotyc'e BRALOR

In Keldabe, Bralor makes for a perfect pair with Tay'haai: While Bralor serves as the connection from the defence to the attack, Tay'haai gives the sniping skills of a well-honed soldier. Quick on his feet and agile in mind, Bralor is just starting on his historic career...

Just as his partner on the midfield defence, Bralor is military veteran. His father is a General within the Grand Army of the Republic and Bralor is currently on Sportsmanship Leave from his own military life as a Sergeant, First Class in the GAR. Having the rigors of combat beaten into him since the beginning of his adult life, Bralor knows full well the pay-off for hard work, well-refined skills and dedication.

17- TRAN Bảo

A player like Tran is one you would hardly notice. He rarely makes a goal, never drives it to the net and doesn't play a very show-boating game. Instead, he is a hard-working midfielder, who focuses his time on setting up the offence for a great pass, a well-positioned switch or the decisive tackle to change the momentum in the game. Ranked as the second-best player on FC Mando, Tran has worked hard to get to the National Team, so expect to see him alternate to relieve Bralor or Maki in the late games.

18- TSUKINO Hachiro
Height: 183cm - Weight: 84kg – Age: 25 years old - Team: Unsigned
Extremely technical for a player his age, Tsukino is definitely an up-and-coming player within the Avatarian league system.

Selected by Sparta FC, a Série A football club in Cotdelapoms, after a terrific performance in World Cup 57, Tsukino had continued to flourish there. He received his Bachelors of Science in Biomolecular Engineering with a Minor in Physics from Accord, a premier Science and Arts University in Albionpool, Cotdelapoms just after the completion of the Cup of Harmony. After the end of the 2012 season, Sparta FC released him, and as of now, Tsukino is unsigned and only plays for the National team. Many Avatarian clubs are seeking to add him to their roster, however, Tsukino remains illusive...

Attacking Midfielders:

8- Pre KRYSE
Height: 183cm - Weight: 85kg – Age: 33 years old - Team: FC Beijing
The Golden Star of Gyatso-kaian football, Kryse has shocked the nation twice in his career. First, predicted to reach the National Level at 21, Kryse came onto the pitch at 19 wearing the national kit; this was such a feat that a new set of laws were passed to allow players younger than 21 to play with the Bisons as opposed to just travelling. Second, after World Cup 58, Kryse was sought out by FC Mildred, a Seria-A team in the Kingdom of Erathore. He quickly signed a contract with the team, despite suffering a concussion in Group Stage Play. After five seasons abroad, Kryse was released by Mildred, and returned home to be signed to a two-year contract with FC Beijing. With a game yet to be played under this new contract, little remains to be seen how Kryse has changed his national play abroad, though if his performance last Cup is any indicator, six goals is a good start.

His footballing style is very offensive, working as the last link between the midfield and the offence; Kryse has been known to even advance from the midfield to score some key goals in pivotal games. He has a powerful long shot and is exceptional at heading, both of which are aided by his height. However, as skilled as he is in offense, Kryse still prefers to pass the ball up to forwards for an assist in a goal as opposed to being the star player.

11- NGO Quyen
Height: 185cm - Weight: 81kg – Age: 31 years old - Team: RC United
A very creative midfielder, Ngo is not known for his consistency: One day, Ngo may get a couple assists and even a goal while keeping the opponent at bay, when on others, he could barely get a foot on the ball; many in the league attribute this to Ngo's service in the Republic Marines and as such, he has been seeing psychiatrists for these issues. A bit of a clown, on those days he is well-inspired, Ngo will often perform many an antic when a goal is scored, thus earning him the love of the fans. On those days less-inspired, Ngo will hardly shuffle through the pitch, tending to gaze at his feet instead of ahead...

14- HIMURA Katsu
Height: 185cm - Weight: 81kg – Age: 26 years old - Team: Northern AFC
Relatively young when compared to his teammates, Himura has not had a promising start to his career, both at home and abroad. Given his still-developing skills in midfield, his is seen as a comparatively weak player and often spends more time with the coaching staff than other more-seasoned players. In his third season out of college with the Northern AFC, Himura is a technical player by nature whose greatest asset is not in his aim or power, but in the art of dribbling which he uses at every opportunity. While more prone to provide assists on plays as opposed to goals, Himura caught Vhett off-guard when he was brought on the pitch to replace an injured Pre Kryse, and managed to score his first goal of his career. However, following World Cup 61, Himura has hit a dryspell in the terms of goals... Maybe World Cup 64 will change that.

Mostly comprised of Water Tribesmen, the Midfield Travelling Corps is a grabbag of talent. From the University of the Northern Tribes come home-grown Inoue Kuruk, who at just twenty completed three double-digit scoring seasons in collegiate play; impressive for a man who is supposed to be on the defensive midfield. From UST comes Kimura Kaskae, who while having yet to score a goal since his first year of high school, has continued to provide multiple assists game in and game out. The youngest travelling player, Saito Tsuka comes all the way from Saipan State Academy, and as the lone Fire in the MTC, he does find himself more lonely than the others. In his four secondary seasons, Saito has never allowed more than a single goal while on the pitch per game. On the offensive side of the pitch, Ito Anernerk and Pak Diku are from two different schools of football, but the two play a very similar game. In fact, Vhett compares the two to a younger pair of Bralor and Kryse...

The Coach: Simon Andfossen (41 years old)

Tragically struck by the loss of his wife in the middle of the last qualifying campaign, Simon is not half the man he used to be. Once a fluid, energetic man with a total passion for the game, was turned into a quiet, withdrawn figure with a drinking problem who once tried to take his own life in an Aguazul hotel room, but was foiled by two team members. He plays now with a very rigid style, playing a 4-4-1-1 with two wide men in the form of Lager and Ruotsalainen. Playing in between the midfield and the lone striker, Truls Waaserson, is former-striker Svein Danielsen.

Assistant Coach: Kuri Levallånen (38 years old)

He comes into the side in rather unfortunate circumstances. Former Assistant Coach Röben Eriksson, former soldier, has retired from coaching due to the injuries he sustained whilst fighting got worse. Kuri was coach of Stormskamer IGK before taking the assistant coaching role, and had taken them to a Supercup victory three years ago. Despite his young years, he has plenty of experience and is always has a calm voice to give to the often on edge Andfossen.

Team Psychologist: Dr. Milia Vevkavas (28 years old)

Psychology graduate from Helsirn University of Human Studies, the surprisingly attractive Milia is solely on the team to keep Simon in check. He can be volatile at some points, depressed at others, and this needs to be watched at all times.

Pal has replaced WC62 regular Toms Holt due to Holt's recurring finger injury. Pal is a few years younger than his superior, but is a talented goalkeeper nonetheless. He is 6ft 3" and is imposing in the goal, which make him a penalty expert. He likes making saves, and has a hollywood flair about the saves he makes. He is known for his big right foot, and can kick from one area to the other and watch out for him in the opposition box in the final minutes...

Dagfinn Simoneit (3 caps - 0 goals - 29 y/o - Stormskamer IGK)

Normally the third string keeper who rarely got a run out, Dag has been promoted to substitute keeper because of Holt's injuries. Has kept for seven years in Stormskamer and is a reliable choice for the team. He is strong behind the ball and can make good saves. His bravery in the box is second to none, and he will charge out to meet a corner in a crowded box or drop at the feet of a charging striker to smother the ball.

Toms Holt (29 caps - 0 goals - 31 y/o - PPMPA Korska)

He has been struggling with a finger injury which he picked up towards the end of last season, and hasn't really recovered from it in time for this World Cup. But if his finger heals up, he will replace Lorsen in goal. Keeper since the beginning of BoF49, has shown immense quality, especially during the penalty shoot-out against Swyftlandre in the final. He has very powerful hands and reflexes like a fox in a flashlight.

Defenders

Kappo Strostrand (38 caps - 1 goal - 34 y/o - Helsirn CSKA) (Captain)

Kappo replaces Torbjørn Lindstørm as captain, as the 37 year old retires from international football. He was always odds on to become captain after the grizzled central defender finally left. Kappo plays as a right back, but floats in the third centre back position and can also be called upon as a wing back when it's needed. Strong and powerful with a dash of pace, almost unbeatable in the air and in 50/50 chances with attacking players. Capable of taking free-kicks as well.

Reko Saari (5 caps - 0 goals - 29 y/o - PPMPA Korska)

He was initially brought into the side to replace Thorvald Thomasson, but has now fully replaced the 32-year old in the squad. Thomasson has been dropped to the reserve squad. Saari is a big man who creates a big presence in the centre of defence. Saari, despite being on of the youngest in the ageing defence, he is still a leader and can pull all of the team together in times of emergency. He can also be a threat down the other end of the pitch when it comes to corners and crosses.

Georg Raske (23 caps - 0 goals - 27 y/o - GKS Erem)

A substitute who has benefited from Andfossen's crazy policy of constantly changing his starting XI, he has benefited from this match experience which he would otherwise not get. His football has developed a lot since being with the national squad, and he is a very good defender. Smaller than your average defender, but no less strong or enthusiastic to the game.

Saar Bjørnsen (0 caps - 0 goals - 23 y/o - FCK Lupa)

A debutant in the side, replacing former captain Torbjørn Lindstørm. He certainly has big shoes to fill, replacing the man who controlled the side when they won the Baptism of Fire two years ago, winning a WCC-Sanctioned event, which most Countries could only dream of. But Bjørnsen has been tipped to be the new Lindstørm. He is bigger than his predecessor, standing at 6ft 4" inches, he is not someone you want to run into at speed. In the side for the long term...

Luka Jarvinen (13 caps - 0 goals - 23 y/o - GKS Erem)

Overshadowed by the likes of Lindstørm and Thomasson, Jarvivnen has not as much game time as he perhaps should do, and is a real gem of a player who has not been fully discovered by Andfossen. He moves with incredible pace when chasing down opposition attackers, and is always in the right place to block a shot or make that last ditch tackle which he has done plenyt of times in the past. Good friends with both Raske and Levallånen, they like to joke around and the occasionally don't take the game entirely seriously.

Mikkel Strand (8 caps - 0 goals - 25 y/o - PPMPA Korska)

He has not quite come into his prime yet, and he's spent a lot of time warming the bench, wrapped up in the numerous layers of SFA-supplied kit. When he has played, for just 8 games in various friendlies, he has shown an adept ability to use the ball from deep and create situations from defence. If he perhaps gets a bit more game time, he could develop his skills and become a real talent, perhaps playing in Defensive midfield or even Midfield.

Vilmar Naess (21 caps - 1 goals - 25 y/o - Helsirn CSKA)

A regular starter under Andfossen, the coach seems to enjoy his free-fleeing ability. He prefers playing as a wing back, and even has an international goal to his name. Along with his pace and ball skills, he can deliver heavy tackles and is very strong on his feet, so is hard to knock over in a challenge. Charismatic and clever, he can often annoy slower-minded players with his remarks, which get him into all kinds of scrapes...

Midfielders

Hakan Lager (29 caps - 1 goals - 27 y/o - Stormskamer IGK)

A youthful and dynamic footballer, Hakan is powerful on both the wing and in and around the area. He has been second place to Jazēps Vang in recent times, and it looks to continue like that as Vang has put in some particularly good performances over the last few months. But nevertheless he has everything a good winger needs: pace, power and good passing ability.

Seppi Steffansson (30 caps - 4 goals - 36 y/o - Stormskamer IGK)

He and Kappo Strostrand are kind of the grandfather figures of this relitavely young team. With the retirement of Lindstørm, Steffansson has now had to take a big role as vice-captain and a role model to the team. He gives an excellent playing role model as a defensive midfielder. Strong and sturdy, with a great range of passes, from the 4ft lay-off to the defence splitting over-the-top ball. All-pervasive and always seems to be in centre of the pitch, dictating the pace and tempo of the game.

Bern Harmandsson (15 caps - 3 goals - 28 y/o - Rasmussen SK)

A great attacking midfielder who has favoured selection over the last few games over his more-defensive counterparts in Andfossen's attempt to score more goals. But with all the coach's efforts, Harmandsson can't provide all the goals for the side, but he tries, with 3 international goals in 15 caps. Lethal at close range with agile reflexes capable of springing onto any pass or loose ball, he also works as a link man between the midfield and Waaserson and Barlow.

Timo Laathi (5 caps - 0 goals - 22 y/o - West Skal City SK)

Former captain of the U21s, Timo is one of the few players who make the leap from U21 regular to first team regular. No one is sure why there aren't more. Timo is a good roving midfielder, who can operate both in a central role or as a winger or attacking midfielder, but can also drop back and defend like a centre back or a sweeper would. Good close control and excellent footwork make him troublemaker for opposition defences, and also has a good close range shooting ability.

Torleif Olhauser (35 caps - 1 goals - 30 y/o - Helsirn CSKA)

The face of the Svenga football team's WC63 campaign, there is massive expectation on both him and the team. Tor, as he's known, is the heart of the team, dictating everything from his perch in the centre of the pitch. He doesn't like to go forward, and will hang back during most attacking set-plays. He has eagle-like vision and is known for his perfect passing and his ability to find space and find it for other players.

Jazēps Vang (17 caps - 0 goals - 22 y/o - DGNC Helsingborg)

The joint youngest player in the side, Vang has the advantage of having his whole career ahead of him. He likes to experiment with the ball, and will often try outrageous tricks, just to see if they work. When on form, he is unstoppable, every trick seeming to come off and every reverse-spinning-backheel finding its target. Combine this ingenuity with proper winger's pace always make him a joy to watch for any football fan.

Rihards Ruotsalainen (24 caps - 5 goals - 31 y/o - PPMPA Korska)

Arguably Svengarda's most successful player, his skill (and a certain journalist) warranted him a place in the World XI (although one lacking several top teams), although as a substitute. Raw pace and good footwork make him a first-choice winger for any side, and 5 goals show off his goal scoring ability from around the area. He has been in rampant form for his domestic club PPMPA Korska, starting all 30 games last season and scoring 21, picking up the Midfielder of the Year award last season.

Strikers

Truls Waaserson (32 caps - 17 goals - 28 y/o - Estal Lunar FC (Vilita)

Svengarda's goal factory, and main source of goals for the entire Andfossen regime. A superb first and final touch make Truls deadly as soon as he picks up the ball in the area. He works a lot off his team, taking crosses from the wingers and through-balls from midfielders, and works well by himself or with fellow strikers. In this case, he will be working in front of Svein Danielsen/Edward Barlow as the sole striker.

Svein Danielsen (21 caps - 5 goals - 26 y/o - Ferdullaele FC (Farfadillis)

A striker on the same par as Truls Waaserson when it comes to goal scoring ability, but Svein has had to live most of his footballing life in the attacking-midfield role, and that's where he'll play for this WC. Good speed and strength make him ideal for this role, as well as the skill of placing a pass, which is key for playing a single striker. Making a name for himself overseas in Farfadillis, scoring more goals of Ferdullaele FC than the legendary Val Kylx.

Serko Jansen (0 caps - 0 goals - 22 y/o - FCK Lupa)

The second debutant in the side along with defender Saar Bjornsen, Serko has gained his place on the merit of his domestic performances for FCK Lupa. His appearance in the side is much to the distaste of the player he replaced; Boghos Danielsen. Serko doesn't expect much play, but when he does, he adds an element of the sublime to his play, and has a habit for scoring some quite brilliant goals, from 25-yard screamers to deft chips.

Edward Barlow (0 caps - 0 goals - 28 y/o - Stormskamer IGK)

Remember this guy? Course you do! Thrown out of the pram rather unexpectedly by an angry Colin Blackwell when he was first in charge of Slembana. Svengarda took the opportunity and brought him to the Icelands, where he gained Svenga nationality due to his job being full-time in the country. But will he adapt to the ice cold football played this far north?

The Iturributa National Football Team

Manager - Bayardo Morriyas
The 48 year-old former attacking midfielder played out his entire career at Royal Association, with some brief appearances for the Astograthian national team, and after retiring was involved in the Khuril seaplane disaster during the World Cup 56 qualifiers. Taking on old friend and Astograthian captain Estebe Bularte as assistant manager, he got the job at Iturributa Racing Club some years ago and took them to their first silverware, two Iturributan domestic cups. He came agonizingly close to taking Albatroseka to their first World Cup - in Astograth, no less - but headed a disappointing run in the World Cup 63 qualifiers. Despite not being a very large nation and clinging to ageing players from a bygone era, Iturributa can still hope to make it to Wight and New Montreal States.

#1 - GK – Yoritz Suastegi - Age 31 -

Blue Mountain Range - 13 caps, 16 goals against, 4 clean sheets
Suastegi has been set back by some delicate injuries, but is otherwise a top keeper who turns out for the most defensively dedicated side in the Astograthian First Division. His understudies may keep him on his toes, but he has the kind of top-level experience they crave.

#3 - LB – Arabante Kelay - Age 25 –

Ituraitz FC - 18 caps
Kelay isn't one of Ituraitz FC's standout players but nonetheless makes himself felt at one of Astograth's most successful and competitive clubs, with several honours to his name already. He has guts, excellent ball control and plenty to look forward to, though Salbarrei provides stiff competition for his position on the national team.

#4 - CB - Elatzar Lakoste - Age 27 - Iturributa United - 14 caps
The heart of United's defence, Lakoste can hold his own against anyone, as frequent UICA play and an increasingly starting national team presence have shown. He has heart and a level head, which is crucial considering his partner Aluztiza plays for bitter rivals Sporting. He'll be replacing former captain and Sporting legend Sotil Burruchaga, so all eyes are on him until he can prove a worthy successor.

#5 - CB – Mikel Aluztiza - Age 28 – Sporting Iturributa - 40 caps, 1 goal
One of the standout players of Sporting's double-winning side he just 21, Aluztiza has all the makings of a Sporting-brand defender: a smart, tactical mind, good feet, discipline and iron will. Technically very good, and having been tested against some of the best at both club and international level, can be said to be a top centre-back. Is expected to pair up with a United defender as opposed to his timeless Sporting partner Burruchaga, but he isn't one to complain.

#12 - RB – Ixona Zarrasbeitia - Age 29 - Sporting Iturributa - 62 caps, 3 goals
Another bright product of the Sporting academy, Zarrasbeitia has replaced Eneko Dorregaray as the Chevrons' right-back and has cemented his place as one of the most-capped Iturributan players thanks to his resilience, tracking and marking defenders tirelessly and effectively. Isn't an attacking presence, but can deliver good long balls to start off plays.

#6 - DM – Agoztar Gorstiaga (C) - Age 33 -

Jan Mayen Islanders - 61 caps, 5 goals
Gorstiaga has shown his quick feet and pinpoint passing throughout the world, first in Kagdazka and Pazhujebu where he won multiple league titles and the Champions' Cup with FKM, with the Astograthian national team, in the domestic First Division with a memorable season at Urbizania Wanderers and now at top Polarian side Jan Mayen Islanders. One of the best the team has to offer and undoubtedly its central pillar, Gorstiaga has excelled at carrying Iturributa forward; by virtue of his vast experience, he has been named captain following the retirement of Sotil Burruchaga.

#7 - LM – Zuzen Barta - Age 33 –

Northbrook Diamonds FK - 62 caps, 9 goals
A quick little devil who rose through the ranks of Iturributa United and the Astograth U21 national team, competing in three Di Bradini Cups before earning a place in the teams that reached the finals of World Cup 57 and 59. A key part of Polarian up-and-comers Northbrook Diamonds, despite his age he is still capable of splitting open any defense with a mazing run.

#20 - RM - Leizarraga Lukuix - Age 33 -

Astograth University - 72 caps, 11 goals
Diametrically opposed to Barta in that he doesn't go for the run or dribble as much as he recovers the ball, Lukuix beats the defender with a sudden sprint and crosses early to beat the offside trap. Rose from the modest Athletic Club Olarria to the previously-modest Astograth University, whom he led to a league title and which are now one of the top sides in the highly competitive First Division. Is currently the most-capped Iturributan player, being with the team since they competed as a sub-national entity in the second World Cuppet.

#11 - LCF - Yeremi Belaustigetigoitia - Age 23 - Sporting Iturributa - 28 caps, 11 goals
Iturributa's latest revelation and greatest hope for the future, Yeremi Belaustigetigoitia is not just a conundrum for the kit man but possibly the most exciting player in the Iturributan Premier Division - which isn't peanuts considering the quality boasted by Sporting and United. He's become a regular member for club and country, responding to the managers' gamble with goals and more goals.

#10 - CF - Kauldi Isasmendi - Age 33 -

Echegoyan FC - 67 caps, 25 goals
A striker with plenty of experience and league titles at Echegoyan FC. Fairly mobile and not lacking in nerve, but excess in the dribble means he can miss the chance to score or assist a teammate; nevertheless he is a very reliable man to have up front. Is currently the nation's top scorer along with Boneta, a fact that has him wrapped up in a tense personal rivalry that Morriyas is glad to leave untouched so long as it results in goals.

#9 - CF - Emenon Boneta - Age 35 -

Rapid Jan Mayen - 65 caps, 25 goals
Loyal to the bone, he left the modest Freedom FC with a large transfer fee and countless memorable goals to search for more competitive football in the Polarian Divisjon One - and lately, the Divisjon Two. Strong, cheerful and determined, you can never count out Boneta when he's on the pitch, especially if Isasmendi's arrogance is there spurring him to excel and continue fighting for the scoring record. Though his age hasn't greatly impacted his playing style, this will be his last campaign with the national team - and he aims to make it memorable.

The Ministry of Morale is pleased to announce the following roster for WC64:

Coaches: André Vaillancourt-Bosquet, age 49, manager; Eliseo Crusellas (Aguazul), age 43, assistant manager; Phillippe Doucet, age 58, goalkeeping coach

Sol Kirkkegaard, the man who guided Polar Islandstates to their place in the sun, ended his third World Cup cycle with the Paladins by crashing and burning during the second half of qualifiers. His assistant André Vaillancourt-Bosquet wasmade full-time head coach after the subsequent, despite an unfortunately loss to the Legal Eagles in the semifinals. Vaillancourt-Bosquet, who was first capped as a Paladin in WC57, has been involved with the side since he was 18. He is well known and generally well regarded by players, staff and administrators alike.

Vaillancourt-Bosquet has kept Sol Kirkkegaard's 3-6-1 formation, but has tinkered with strategies and tactics to give it more of an offensive flair. With the departure of William St. John de la Ware for the manager's job in Darmen, Vaillancourt-Bosquet has brought in Eliseo Crusellas from Aguazulian club CD Quemavilla. Crusellas brought the side up from the second tier to a shock second-place finish in the top division, followed by a seventh-place finish and a national Cup championship. Crusellas, perhaps sensing that he'd reached the limits of CD Quemavilla's potential, has gone international, tempted by the chance to help André Vaillancourt-Bosquet bring NMS back into the 1% of imaginary football. Phillippe Doucet, whose combination of age-old goaltending fundamentals and New Age meditation and dietary practices is expected to help shore up a position that tends to give up goals in bursts.

Bill Watterson shattered the NMSFL record for transfer fee paid for a keeper when NM Patriotes handed 9.5 million øz to Unité Chateauguay in return for his services, an amount over three times the previous record of 3.1 million øz. All he's done since then is anchor a record-setting defensive effort, setting records for goals conceded per match and clean sheets. Ormier-Berthelette and Brooks are both elite keepers, but only an injury to Watterson will enable to see any real playing time.

The wheels fell off the back line after William St. John de la Ware left the NMS assistant head coach's job for the Darmen All-Greens' managerial position. de la Ware and Henri-Réné Lavaillère will have to continue playing at a star level Right back Kyle Jones-Leduc was completely overwhelmed at AOCAF 39 and has been given the boot in favor of Laurent Ledoux. Ledoux will be expected to stay back more than his predecessor; hopefully this will reduce the number of easy goals conceded on counterattacks.

André Vaillancourt-Bosquet needed to fix deficiencies in his midfield's defensive and passing, a task made about 1000x times harder without a qualification campaign to test new players and formations. The onus will be on Fred Nguyen and Amelio Quagliata Jr. to keep the goals coming, as neither Roger Baxter nor Benoit Séguin-Godwin have the shooting skills of the men they're replacing. Both, however, are much better passers and defenders then the men they're replacing. Théodore Lemieux-Banfeld is still on the bench, and will be able to provide some offense as a sub if need be, but unless Quagliata and Nguyen can find the back of the net, the Paladins are probably doomed.

Hugo Leclercq was forced to retire, three months before the World Cup Finals kicked off, after nearly dying from internal bleeding on the pitch during an NMSFL match. Having lost the Paladins' lone striker for the previous decade, with an easily replaceable 53 international goals, at thirty seconds past the last minute, left Vaillancourt-Bosquet and Crusellas have swung for the fences, carrying two strikers with no international goals between them. Both strikers are incredible athletes, particularly Randle-Cunningham, who combines incredibly powerful deep shots with the ability to sprint past defenders as if they weren't there.

I hereby give my opponents permission to do anything that strikes their fancy, short of causing death or permanent paralysis to one of my players.
