I considered history because I like it and am really pretty good at it...but it sort of keeps me in the category of "screwed"...history and English are both not particularly in demand...at least not around here and not in the current job market. Fuckers.

I'm moving to California in 8 months. This is wonderful. The problem is this: I do not have my education certification in California, and therefore will likely be yet another year (or two...or three) behind in my chosen profession. So my next best bet? Getting my masters!
The options:
Reading specialist: this is a subdivision of special education. It would give me a huge edge in finding education jobs, but is the absolute last thing I want to study. Good career, bad satisfaction.
American literature: this would provide me with a stronger backing in English (my current focus) and could allow me to teach in some colleges. It definitely interests me, and would help with my career, but keeps me going in one track...is that a good thing?
Biology: I'm not sure exactly what type of biology, but I've always loved it, and would like to have new angles from which to view the world. Science teacher positions are more in demand, and has the benefit of private sector demand.
Law: I like studying law...I just don't know if I'd like cleaning up other peoples' messes.
So...what should I do?
And, to provide further discussion, do you have a masters? If yes, in what? Is it related to your bachelors/job? Why did you get it? If you are too young for masters, apply these questions to your bachelors/focus of study
Aaaaaaaaaaaand....go.
