suppose you liked the idea that you had invented toaster waffles and wanted to believe it was so. would that be good reason for being certain that you did in fact invent toaster waffles?

I'm shocked that there is no "who cares if God exists or not" option in the poll.

The existence of God has absolutely no bearing on anything important to me whatsoever.

I also am at the #1 level. My reasoning is because I have personally experienced God. I am not trying to convince anyone else that I'm correct, so I do not need to provide you with documentation and physical proof, but my personal experiences are sufficient to prove it to myself beyond a shadow of a doubt.

Meh. No one ever gets to the conclusion. So, you prove God exists, or you prove the existence of certain god conceptions are logically impossible, and then you still have to get up and go to work the next day. There's nothing gained in answering the question beyond reasonable doubt.

Fair enough. Let's just say the existence of God is irrelevant to me. It may be much ado about nothing, or God could really exist as the all-powerful creator of the universe who watches me not care if it exists.

Either way, I don't care.

I think the danger lies in the opposite. If I cared about the existence of God, I'd try to do something about it. Most religions portray God as some insecure, low self-esteem attention whore I wouldn't care to be around anyway.

A god likely exist, but probably not in the sense that the religious folks think of it/him/her.
