I've never liked the more colorful (specifically blue, purple, red, all those colors) Tau. I've always preferred them to look more like this or this or sometimes even this.

My whole thing is that this'd be my first attempt coloring figurines, so I couldn't get the extra detail needed for a more plain armor look. I'd also want to know what paints I'd need to get (do they group by hexidecimal coloring?)

Ah, I didn't mean to appear dickish and mean I like only pro paint jobs :P I just meant to say I think that Tau look better with more mild colors like tan, gray, and green.

I don't know exactly how they are grouped but they have weird ass names. Also, don't rely on Citadel paints - if you can find other paints with good reviews that are the same material as Citadel, and are cheaper, get them. Citadel can be the same quality as other stuff but cost much more.

I like Tau in lore because they're kinda the last bastion of freedom (that was initial goal, but the devs decided to make them a little evil. Also very attracted to the idea that they are one of few races who will discover new tech. In game, I like their hella high range and good versitility.

In that aspect, yes, I enjoy them. However, all that armor and sleek metal plate made them somewhat... unrelatable to me. Are they a pain in the ass in Table Top against my IG? Yes. But when, for some reason or another, we end up working together... it's a thing of beauty.

I found Storm Trooper/Kasrkin (fluff-wise, Grenadiers in my IG army) could be almost relied upon to much through the squishy Fire Warriors in hand-to-hand.

Plus, my Berzerkers could always do that.

So, with the Orks and Tyranids doing there best to destroy each other during the Octarius War, who have people got there money on?

I've trouble deciding, since both seem so closely matched. I haven't given a definitive conclusion to this myself, so I was curious what everyone here thought?

Neither of them will win, everyone else just loses. Both got infinite amount of troops.

But this is GW, so it'll just be 'neither will win and no one else even notices'.
