208 years have passed since the great powers of the world unleashed nuclear armageddon, the Great War. Since then new powers and civilizations have risen and fallen.
But war, bloodshed and death continues.
IC
The Bear, the mighty New California Republic attempted to seize control of new Vegas and all it had to offer, Land, riches, and most importantly Hoover dam. The wall across the Colorado. They failed, Mr. House, his robotic army and his powerful ally the Courier stopped the NCR and made New Vegas a independent city state. President Kimbal barely managed to hold onto his office after the disaster at in Nevada was blamed on him, and general Oliver died at the hands of the Courier. But New Vegas has an allure, even to the bruised bear, and so caps and tourists from the NCR continue to flow to it. Now with a bruised ego and thousands of soldiers coming home the NCR is looking to regain it's reputation and make up for it's loss in Vegas, the NCR has begun to clear Utah out of Raiders such as the 80s, though they avoid Zion's canyon knowing that Dead Horses and Sorrows tribes are to strong to be worth the effort. With the New Canaanites killed or scattered by the White Legs and the late Caesar the NCR has claimed New Canaan as their own and it has grown to a city of almost 350 people, and is a center of trade for the area.
Caesar's Legion was shattered at the dam with Legate Lanius and Caesar both dead the legion began to dissolve back to their tribal roots. Now Arizona is a war torn desert full of tribes, constantly fighting and with no central government. What tribes stayed loyal to the ideas of Ceasar have fled north to Colorado, as many of the shattered tribes harbor much resentment for them and Caesar. Flagstaff, once the heart of the legion was raised to the ground and all of its temples and administrative buildings are no more. Though not a true rival to the NCR any more they are still much more powerful than the tribes and raiders in Utah and Colorado, and have been gaining power, if slowly. They have a outpost of around 120 people in Provo, and have been carrying out guerrilla attacks on the NCR and raiding caravans.
The White Legs were crushed by the Courier and the Dead horses and then the 80s in their own land. The 80s are now the most powerful tribe in the area, and are openly hostile to all outsiders. They are arguably the most powerful faction in the area, able to attack even the NCR with nigh impunity. They don't seem to have any centralized leadership, and generally move in small bands. They are feared for their ablity to strike from any where at anytime, and to cover massive swaths of land with only a hand full of men.
The Brotherhood of Steel in New Vegas was spared from Mr. House by the Courier and have been absorbed, if begrudgingly into Mr. House's growing armed forces. They Have a small independent bunker in the south Jordan area of the Salt Lake valley. They are constantly in friction with the NCR but have not fought openly with them.
Mr. House has remained enigmatic as ever, though he is much more powerful than any one would have expected walking into the strip 10 years ago. His families of the strip have vast wealth, and as a whole the Independent state of New Vegas has wealth rivaling the NCR. The Courier has continued to be the champion of Vegas, and has become the face of Mr. House to the out side world. Though it's population is small Mr. House has expanded the authority of himself, and Vegas out out to the borders of Nevada and into Southern Utah. Recently the Courier showed up in Salt Lake City with the platinum chip and powered another of House's hidden Vaults with it. Now a research out post has been started to scrounge the mountains for hidden relics of the old world, and to bring in more caps to fuel Mr. House's desire to see the old world he lived in recreated in his image. They have set up at the foothills of Mt. Olympus near Millcreek canyon, with about 300 people and half that again in securitrons.
The Enclave has stayed in the shadows, and no one knows for sure if they have any presence at all in Salt Lake, though the smart bet is they do.
Salt Lake Metro area suffered 6 nuclear strikes leaving it heavily damaged, but many areas of the Wasatch Front survived, and in the mountains one can almost forget the Great War ever occurred. This logic lead many public and private bunkers to be built in mountains, just before, and even some after the war.
Now some of those old world bunkers are opening. There's no official records of them, not private contractors, or military records. They contain people. Each one only houses one person, but these people aren't normal. There isn't much in the way of equipment in the bunkers, with almost all of the space taken up by the medical equipment. They were modified before, or maybe after the war and placed in a suspended animation. Similar but more advanced than House's personal equipment in the Lucky 38. They are stronger, and more durable than your average wastelander. None of them remember anything of the old world, or why they were in the bunkers. They have become sought after by every faction for their power, and maybe the hope of recreating more of them.
Welcome all to my Fallout Universe RP. I'm setting this in the Wasatch Front and Salt Lake valley, and reducing the amount of damage to that area (In the canon it was hit by 13 nukes.) This RP assumes that the courier killed Caesar and sided with house pushing the NCR out of Vegas, and later all of Nevada. The White legs were killed en mass by the Sorrows, Dead Horses and New Canaanites and they retained Zion as their home. The NCR and the State of New Vegas have both moved into Utah for trade and to gain more lands, though Mr. House is more interested in what technology might have been left behind.
The Brotherhood of Steel in Vegas was coerced into joining forces with House, witch is not an option in New Vegas (but we all wish it was) they tend to stay to their own and House is fine with that as long as they don't interfere with his plans. There is also an independent BoS chapter in Salt Lake, which House has no control over.
The newly awakened out of the bunkers are strong and better suited to survive, but they aren't super human.
Your character can be just about anything you want, as long as it isn't blatant god modding and fits into fallout lore. I'm going to be going more by Fallout lore than gameplay, so power armor will take a hell of a lot of punishment, and the world will be more lethal in general. This is not a survival RP, you can put those types of things in if you want but they are not needed. This is about the clash of powers, and the "civilizing" powers against the "uncivilized" tribals.
The Rules:
Op and Co-Op's (Halleon) word is law.
No God modding (duh).
3 strikes and you're out.
No Hard limit on post sized but try not to have many one liners.
If you're gone for more than 2 weeks I am liable to kill off your character, TG me if you will be gone and don't want to have to make a new
character.
Be realistic with your equipment.
