Do you believe a person who commits suicide goes to hell?

I recently had a family member do this over a year ago (on new years eve in fact) And was wondering what others thought. My stance on it at first was yes, but over time Ive changed it to no. I think that maybe some wrong goes mentally in their body, or possibly a demon could possess a person. I dont see God letting someone suffer though if either of those are true. After all its not their fault.

Nope, it just meant that the person involved likely had some underlying (or obvious) psychological problem that wasn't addressed when they were living. On the subject of what happens when we die, as I am not currently deceased, it is unfair to assume what happens to oneself when we pass away.

It rather has the ring of a scare story. Subjecting people to unbearable pain for eternity seems overkill for the crime of not choosing the right religion in a giant guessing game. I can't take it seriously. I'm no more scared of hell than of the bogeyman.

unless it's outside of time and space?

and no, i don't believe in a hell as such,
rather nonphysical existence, if it takes place at all,
does so in a completely nonphysical "space",
that how we experience it, if we do,
is a matter of how we've come to look at things,
which in tern is a matter of well, we've acquired how we look at things,
from the priorities we've lived by,
so basically, heaven and hell are sort of simplified ways of explaining that,
to people in somewhat 'simpler' levels of culture.

A Friend told me as long as he trusted in Christ, he would of been saved. And I dont think God would allow someone to suffer if they have mental problems. Like the man Jesus healed when he sent the demons into a heard of swine. The man was possessed and had no control over that. And Jesus said to him that to go tell his family and friends how the Lord had compassion on him. So I think that it depends on if God wants to forigve those people or not. As kind and loving as God is though, I think he would

I don't disbelieve in hell, or believe in it. Not sure about suicide though, if God really cared about humanity he'd probably seriously think about each person individually instead of just going "Nope, suicide is evil. Welcome to eternal suffering."

Of course I'm also open to the theory that god doesn't give a shit about us. In which case, no, there is no hell because God never saw the point in making one. Probably no heaven either.
