New Edomite GHQ,
Adiuvo Islands

Captain Briggs typed quickly on his E-Tablet, forming a mini-report and taking notes from what Barak said at the same time. This was exactly what command wanted. He felt a little excited at the prospect of giving the Navy something to do. They'd been itching for a fight for some time now and Briggs knew the flyboys and sailors would give hell to anyone that screwed with them or their foreign comrades. Deeper than that though, he felt a little nervous. If the fighting reached land on the Adiuvo Islands things would go bad pretty quick. Worse, if enemy forces simple blockaded and bombarded the Islands, their lives would be miserable hell. His eyes flashed around the room, examining the New Edomites around him. Though he'd only been at his new post for a few hours he still felt attachment and worry for his comrades. Especially a certain female one that was sitting across the room from him. He found the Major quite attractive. Most Phonencian women had darker or lighter blonde hair and were very tan. While this made them quite attractive, it got boring and one got used to it after a while. Fair skin was considered rather appealing on women in Phonencia as it was typically a sign of high class and (though it didn't matter to most) racial purity. Honey blonde hair was a rarity as well and it suited the Major's skin nicely. He wondered in the back of his mind what color her eyes were then made a mental note to look next time they spoke.

Captain Briggs blinked a few times, snapping out of his reverie and wondering in the back of his mind why in the hell he found this one woman so appealing. He'd seen dozens of women with nice bodies, pretty faces and sexy personalities but for some odd, unexplainable reason, Wendt stood out to him. Was it her unfortunate circumstances? Or perhaps the fact that she was a fellow military officer? Briggs sighed almost silently and typed quickly on his E-Tablet, finishing off the very rough draft of his report. As the meeting was dismissed he strode over to General Barak and Major Wendt, E-Tablet under one arm.
"Sir, ma'am."
he greeted with a polite nod,
"I need to transmit a report to High Command as soon as possible. Could the Major assist me with gathering the necessary information please?"
he asked, expertly concealing anything close to emotion towards Major Wendt. He was actually pleased with how professional he sounded, as though he honestly didn't give a damn who assisted, as if the Major was just the best possible and efficient option.

Barak looked up into the Captain's eyes and then gave a brusque nod. "Very well. Don't be a long time, Major." he marched out of the room; a lot of the officers there were moving out of the room and were clearly very busy.

Wendt turned her blue eyes towards Briggs and said quietly, "How in the world is this going to work? Your forces are half a world away, and Ralkovia's allies virtually surround us. ICE has failed us. We're practically alone out here. Cukarica, United World Order, Ralkovia, and others. Why all they have to do is mobilize and they'll steam roll over us." her eyes flashed with anger. "We'll do our duty, depend upon it. But if I'm going to be honest, it seems to me like we shouldn't have to throw our lives away when the ICE alliance abandoned us. I hope to God our government negotiates." she folded her arms, and looked up at him. "So before you get all flirty again, Captain, you should know how I feel about that. And I'm not going to be impressed by any bragging. This is the reality. So. Let's go send your message."

Captain Briggs shrugged and walked with the Major into the hallway.
"There's not much I can really say I guess. My country and the Coalition have kinda' screwed up."
he was silent for a moment then said,
"But, I'm here. And I'm not leaving for anything."
he kept his eyes off Sarah's face, fixing his gaze straight ahead.
"I need all your available data on the engagement, enemy numbers and locations etcetera. High Command won't hesitate to send reinforcements if they get intel showing it's necessary."
he was silent again for a long moment as they walked then he eventually asked,
"Are you afraid? About all this that's happening I mean."
The prospect of possible impending doom was rather intimidating after all.

Major Wendt's tone, when she responded, was bitter. "Of course I'm scared. I know what war is like; everyone is meat for the grinder. No one is really safe; everything is in flux. I know that training and focus helps, but that won't change that if Ralkovia alone comes at us with all they have, we're going to get steamrolled. It will be a slaughter. But that's if I'm lucky. If I'm not lucky, I'll be dragged off to some bastards harem. I'd like to say I'd kill myself first, but I don't know if I'd be able to." she took a deep breath. "Yeah, I'm scared Captain. I'd like to say I trust in God. But sometimes I wonder if there even is a God. Don't tell anyone I said that but i do." she managed a smile. "Lord Augrim never seems to doubt though, and he's faced death many times. I hope he is at HQ soon."

M4E73 UAV Callsign Oculus 3-4, Engaging Edomite Forces

Oculus 3-4 continued to paint the targets with its fire control RADAR until the second wave had effectively reached its terminal phase; at that point his own painting was no longer necessary, as the missiles began to track the Sparrowhawks with a combination of active RADAR homing and EO/IIR imaging.

Of course, moments later his own RADAR warning receiver began screaming as a pair of Edomite-launched missiles went terminal and began to track him. The drone did everything it could to survive; countermeasures, maneuvering, even attempting to cook one of the enemy missiles with its AESA. In the end it was for naught; it wasn't a terribly maneuverable drone and one of the enemy missiles did manage to get through and find its target, effectively blowing Oculus 3-4 out of the sky. It was a loss for the Golden Host, though not anything near a crippling one; after all, they still held vast numerical superiority. Even if the Doomani continued to sustain these kinds of losses to their aircraft, they would run out of planes long after the enemy did. It was simple mathematics.

A quick analysis by the drone's crew indicated that the enemy had a second group of aircraft with the one that had been targeted. Rewinding through the drone's recorded telemetry, there was no evidence that it had been painted with RADAR prior to the enemy missiles going terminal. This indicated that either there was an enemy aircraft close enough to achieve a firing solution utilizing IRST (highly unlikely, as the drone's IRST would have seen them as well) or that the enemy had found them by following Oculus 3-4's RADAR emissions. The later was certainly the most realistic option; this intelligence was passed up the chain and analyzed in minutes, and shortly thereafter orders warnings went out to the flight leaders to keep an eye out of stealthy ELINT platforms being employed by the enemy.

Tactics in this situation called for a dangerous game of chicken: given that the enemy was stealthy, finding them on RADAR was going to be very difficult. The surest way to find them would be to get the enemy to shoot, and in order to do that the Doomani would have to seriously risk some of their drones.

Orders were handed down for an operation to attempt to neutralize Edomite reconnaissance forces: the M1E73s would remain on station, and flights of M1A90s supported by M1E90 electronic warfare platforms would be deployed forward at a distance of 50 to 100 km. The drones would be emitting with their AESA sets, continuing to operate as they had: from an outside perspective, all would appear as it had been. However, the fighters would remain in wait, the M1E90s sniffing for enemy signals with their ELINT gear and the M1A90s keeping their AESA sets on passive mode whilst monitoring their IRST and focal plane array. If the enemy's Sparrowhawk-Es started emitting, the M1E90s would be able to pick up on them; if they continued to monitor passively, they would inevitably pick up on the M1E73's signals. This would present them with a target.

Given the high degree of stealth of the M1E73's own RADAR and the fact that they were emitting at lower power, it was likely that the enemy's range for picking up on those signals would be reduced...

Captain Briggs fought off a shudder of discomfort. Ralkovia disgusted him. Scared him a bit yes, but most of his emotions toward the nation and its people centered around hatred. He did feel some fear though. Fear for his comrades, his allies, and for the woman next to him. The cruelty and inhumanity of Ralkovia was unfathomable and he couldn't imagine it being inflicted on someone so (comparatively) small and vulnerable.
"I've heard from older veterans that death becomes far less concerning once you get used to it and learn not to fear it."
Briggs replied,
"Death isn't the end after all. It's a new beginning. But I enjoy my life right now and you seem to enjoy yours, so I'll try to make sure we survive this."
They entered one of the hotel's many rooms and while Wendt helped him dig up what he needed from the computers, Captain Seth Briggs once again found himself admiring the Major in a very unprofessional way. When she caught him glancing at her, he actually blushed (though it was difficult to see under his dark tan skin)
"Sorry,"
he apologized,
"It's hard not to stare."
he lowered his voice,
"You're very, very beautiful."
he complimented, reaching across the desk they hovered over to grab a file. His calloused hand brushed the tips of her dainty fingers and he felt like he'd been shocked by a live wire. He grabbed the file and jerked his hand back, opening it and reading it intently to conceal his attraction towards Sara and discomfort at the situation.
"I'll be honest with you Sara,"
he felt a slight tingle as he said her name,
"I find you extremely attractive and I'd really like to get to know you better."
he dropped the file and finally looked into the Major's eyes,
"So I was wondering if you'd, um, like to do something together. Y'know, share a table in the Mess Hall, work on some after action reports and such, whatever."
he felt sweat bead on the back of his neck and cleared his throat, feeling awkward essentially asking out a foreign military officer. He was typically far more confident, of course typically his dates were civilain girls that giggled a lot and thought his uniform was sexy. A well accomplished, high ranking foreign military officer was uncharted territory...

Su-101 squadron, 4th Fleet, at sea approaching Tyrrhenia

“Shit!” yelled Lt Max Wilkes as his Su-101 Sea Flanker was targeted by four enemy missiles at once. Considering his predicament, this seemed to be a very short response. He was, however, too busy pulling of heroic feats of aerobatics for anything more elaborate. With its Sukhoi –developed airframe and tri-axis thrust vectoring, the aircraft is supremely manvouerable at supersonic speeds as well as in WVR fighting. Combined with the jamming capability of the Rafale-derived Thales Spectra system, the Su-101 actually stood a chance in this scenario.

In any case, he nearly pulled it off. Jamming put one missile off course while he successfully managed to dodge two others. The fourth, however, detonated close enough to rain his plane with shrapnel, shredding his control surfaces and destroying one engine. Deciding that the plane wouldn’t be able to limp back to either the carriers or the island, the lieutenant ejected, hoping that his shark repellent will last before the SRE Osprey gets to his location.

His wingmen, meanwhile, never lost track of the drone, despite its attempts to run away. The second plane in the squadron, taking no chances this time, fired four BVRAAMs at the aircraft, leaving two each of BVRAAMs and IRIS-Ts in his internal bay. Another three flights of four fighters converged upon the area, prowling for prey, waiting for the enemy’s fighters to reveal themselves before launching a counterattack of their own.

Nimrod Squadron, at east, near the Adiuvo Islands

Lt Peter Khan was not well pleased. Three weeks of continued anti-submarine operations had left the squadron exhausted. Now , they were being used in some sort of wild goose chase, using their new Thales Searchwater ASaC radars as a sort of stand in surveillance aircraft to find the enemy fleet. They were well-protected by the APAF’s Su-100 fighters from the island, of course, though the lumbering maritime patrol aircrafts were hardly the most survivable thing in the sky, especially compared to dedicated stealthy reconnaissance drones.

“Seen anything yet, Mel?” He asked his co-pilot.

“Not a thing. Let’s scan the area over here. The fighters are reaching the limit of their combat radius, but we should be fine.”

With that remark, they adjusted their course, hoping that their escorts will prove adequate if the manure hits the rotating device.

Air Battle
The Shadowhawks carried the world-benchmark AN/ALQ-281 ‘Tiamat’ EW system as integral. Normally the default emitters were set to ‘off’. However, once their RWR systems determined that they had in actual fact, been detected, ‘Tiamat’ provided EW capability to enable them to defeat radar-lock. The Tiamat was capable of intercepting, automatically processing and jamming received radio frequency signal, using electronic attack capabilities which used radiated EM energy to degrade, neutralise or destroy hostile force- or force-support elements. 'Tiamat' uses high-end solid-state emitters, coupled with dramatically elevated potential power throughput, and dynamic and pattern-probability frequency agile (PPFA) barrage and spot jamming to render all but the most potent radars impotent. However if the seeking radar was calculated to be capable of burning through the jamming, precisely timed utilisation of Cromwell-backed broad-spectrum DRFM (Repeater) jamming would be implemented. In addition to this, connection to the CROMWELL II system through the carrier and LPDs had already sent their information back to the Fleet.

All this was well and good, but the pilots were also doing fully maneuvers; as those missiles kept tracking they'd have to be defeated by the EW soon...and the lead pilot ordered them to head up higher in case they needed to eject; if the missiles locked in that would be their only hope for survival. G forces slammed against them as they headed up away from the waves towards the dizzying heights they had originally dropped from.

The Sparrowhawk-E crews remained passive in their sweep; this was a dangerous game of chicken alright, and Captain Daniella Nimrod felt the tension. While a serious professional, she was also a danger junkie. Thorough training in technical operations had not gotten that out of her; from when she was a lanky limbed kid trying to jump a ramp with her bike when she was 11 to the present, she had always loved taking risks, and she had been lucky enough to be born leading up to an era of military integration for men and women. The Air Force had been seeking out people who could handle increasing developments in technology for fighters, and she had been fortunate to be given command of a flight of recon planes. Anything was possible now--they could actually get enemy planes on visual. She knew a battle was taking place, but she filed it in her mind and proceeded with her mission, keeping any radio contact to a bare minimum, using the tactical computer instead to calculate the position of the other plane flown by Lieutenant Goshen...

New Edomite GHQ, Adiuvo Islands

Wendt blushed, cursing the genetics that made her face flare up like a flashlight beamed through a red cloth. She found the compliment...typical but oddly frustrating; she knew she was attractive, but why did that mean she had to respond to it? She found him intriguing but he wasn't giving her much time.

For reasons she had said yes before...she said, "Yes, that's fine." she gave him a quiet smile in response. He had started out really brash, now he seemed more shy, as though put off by her manner. Of course that was also typical; she was so used to men almost getting flustered by her--traditional Edomite men were confused by her military status; officers she served with as well, or their come ons were clumsy and awkward because they didn't know how to handle her rank. Then there were a few who were good at it, and they were generally likely to be womanizers, men who just wanted her for sex.

But how would she also juggle this and the General? Ironically she thanked God for the crisis; at least all she'd be getting was her ass pinched and fondled for a bit. "We can share a table during mess. If you'd like to hang out with me that's fine." she added. Outside there was a roar of engines. She went and took a look outside and crossed herself. "Holy Lord Jesus, protect them" she murmured as the second AWACS was seen planing up over the headquarters; contrails of the fighter escort all around in the sky above it. Beyond that a squadron of attack helicopters were being fueled up on the tarmac and gone over by ground crews, and a line of Air Cavalry Troopers were marching along as a squiggling line of BDU clad humanity flanking them.

Official Military Deployment Order from the Ordo Tutamen

From: Councilman Fredrick Rodeger of the Ordo Tutamen
To: The Allied Command
Encryption Level: 4
Confidentiality: Classified

Despite much challenge from the Senate, we have managed to secure the blessings of the Pontifex Maximus in entering ourselves more fully into this Operation. In such an action, the Senate has approved for use, the 1st and 2nd Army. In addition, we are able to provide Carrier Task Forces of the SFS Merciless, SFS Impregnable, and SFS Vindicator. Finally, the from the Air Wing of the Ordo Tutamen, we are able to provide 4 Fighter Wings, 2 Bomber Wings and 6 Transport Wings. This adds up to a sum total of nearly 3 million troops. while this deployment is quite meager compared to what we might be able to use, I must procure a declaration of war from the Senate. This could take an extremely long time, therefore this is all we can provide. In the event that the Federal Republic cannot communicate with its own forces, we hereby give authority for the respective Command in the Holy Democratic Empire of Phonencia/

SFS Merciless,New Edomite GHQ, the Adiuvo Islands

After the blockade did not work, the Ordo Tutamen had finally decided enough attempts at peace had failed. With nearly unanimous support of the Senate, the Ordo Tutamen gave the authorization for a greater force to be used against the Ralkovians. This was a huge step, after all the morass that the Senate was always acting as, such a massive issue should have taken weeks to pass. It was weeks, but still it could have been a fair bit longer. The Admiral, Issac Constantius sat in his chair contemplating the massive force that he had just been given command of. After all, generally, the Ordo Tutamen did not let the Naval Command take control of Ground Assets, rarer still was the time when air assets were put under the command of an Admiral. Apparently, he was the best possible man for the job. With that in mind he attempted to open up a dialogue with the local Headquarters. He motioned to the Communications officer of the Merciless, a short message was looped to whoever at the base might be able to hear it.

This is Admiral Constantius of the Severian Federal Ship Merciless, as members of the International Coalition for Expansion, we have been authorized to participate in this action. We are requesting permission to approach the base.
Puppet of Post War America, if you wish to RP with this nation, please telegram my main as well as Severia to ensure that I get it.

For to long, the small task force we contributed to ICE efforts in Ralkovia have stayed dormant whilst there brave comrades fought and died. And we are sorry. [OOC: My actual response post is coming tomorrow or sometime early in the weekend. This is just an emergency communique New Belhavia recommended to let ICE and allies in on the latest news from Tyrrhenia. A copy of this will also be posted in the Afalia thread for members who are not part of this one, so they have some light shed to them as well.

TL;DR: Gratenburg Conference is designed to overthrow the IASM. While I'm not going to support the IASM ICly, I will support rebellions within to cause civil unrest and make it all the more difficult to occupy for our Gratenburg friends.]

To the esteemed and honorable representatives of the respective member nations of the International Coalition for Expansion and its allies,

Agents in the United Republic Joint Intelligence Agency (JIA) operating in central Tyrrhenia reported conclusive evidence suggesting an emergency conference between specific nations of the Anti-Communism Alliance (ACA) in Gratenburg, Elcric Kcalb. The emergency and secretive nature of the conference suggests an agenda which may serve the interests of the United Republic and her allies, in regards to potential action in the region of Tyrrhenia.

The host nation, the Corporatocracy of Elcric Kcalb, is expected to be accompanied by representatives from fellow ACA allies Constitutional Monarchy of New Belhavia and the Enlightened Monarchal State of Prussia, all hereinafter collectively referred to as the Gratenburg Pact.

The JIA was able to piece together a list of approximately twenty-seven (27) potential items which may be on the agenda for the meeting, based on known interests of the nations involved, the local geopolitical landscape, and recent events in the region. The two topics most likely to be discussed are: (1) ACA/Gratenburg Pact intervention in the ongoing conflicts between Ralkovia and ICE, and (2) a potential invasion and annexation of the United Ditorates of the IASM.

Regarding the plausibility of potential intervention, the overall geopolitical scene in Tyrrhenia seems to represent a gradual weakening of influential power for the ACA in Tyrrhenia. Prior to this, the ACA was essentially unrivaled in the region, with several of its member states holding strategic or economic partnerships with local powers such as the United World Order (itself a former member of the ACA) and Ralkovia, alongside ACA members in the region itself—such as Prussia, New Belhavia, among others.

The previously uncontested domination (and essential subjugation) of the region by the ACA has been placed into jeopardy with the recent conflicts around the Adiuvo Islands in northern Tyrrhenia between ICE forces and Empire of Ralkovia. At least one ACA member, Prussia, is believed to be participating in an essential "submarine blockade" of the islands designed to prevent allied forces from entering or exiting Adiuvo waters. However, the very fact that extraregional powers are capable of projecting force against allies of member nations of the ACA inside Tyrrhenia seems to suggest that the ACA is losing its grip on the region.

Another event has further attempted to tarnish the ACA's role in a typically conservative and fiercely patriotic region: the warmongering ideals of the United Ditorates of the IASM. The IASM has launched a number of conflicts unilaterally, with almost no basis for support aside from the need to provide for its people following gross military overspending and government corruption that has left the people of the country starving in poverty.

One of these conflicts occurred in Afalia, which was invaded with the stated intent being to transform a beautiful free nation into a sector for agricultural production. ICE forces aided in the defense of Afalia, which continues as we speak; currently, a significant portion of the IASM's invading fleet has been destroyed, including the pride of their navy, the TAF Ditorate. The ongoing battle has left Titianician Ditor (the nation's head of state) Jack Lazin essentially missing in action, with reports indicating his presence on the Ditorate before her destruction.

Because the IASM launches wars to cover for its lack of desire to care for its brutally oppressed people, rumors indicate local nations in the Tyrrhenia region consider the IASM a major security threat. Tyrrhenian nations typically display extensively protectionist tendencies regarding extraregional forces entering Tyrrhenia, and thus the existence of a warmongering country almost always on the brink of war is one which most do not take lightly, particularly due to the threat that eventually, extraregional forces will invade and topple the regime.

A Gratenburg Pact invasion of the IASM would undoubtedly be launched in an attempt to form an ACA "empire" and restore overwhelming ACA influence in the region despite the conflict in the Adiuvo Islands. Allowing the three Gratenburg Pact nations to annex the IASM would provide them with a free pass to solidify ACA dominance in Tyrrhenia, a region with lingering U.R. and ICE interests. ACA member nations have typically been opposed to the United Republic on most major issues, and members of the ACA are currently in conflict with the U.R. and ICE.

As such, allowing the ACA, whose member nations are largely allied with or have major interests regarding key enemies and opponents of ICE, to establish a more dominant position within the region would only solidify the complex political landscape in which the Tyrrhenia region is almost universally an enemy, with the Adiuvo Islands, an insular territory of the Free Republic of Lamoni, being the only remaining bastion of freedom.

It is not even necessary to state that there will be no support for the reigning regime of the IASM should it become invaded. However, this places the United Republic and its allies in a unique position, with two of its enemies at war with each other. Because the IASM is unlikely to successfully defend itself against what is expected to be an overwhelming onslaught by the Gratenburg Pact, it is necessary to make such an invasion as difficult as possible for these forces while simultaneously causing civil unrest for the IASM regime.

Essentially, the United Republic is proposing unofficial and covert support for the New Alotosian Republican Front, a longstanding ultranationalist rebel group operating in the IASM. The goal of the support would be to grow a third party in the conflict and lure Gratenburg forces into a conflict much longer, more difficult, and bloodier than they hoped for. The addition of an insurgent third party, using methods common in modern insurgencies, would provide overwhelming complexity for both Titianician and Gratenburg Pact commanders and, subsequently, make a Gratenburg Pact occupation of the IASM exponentially more difficult, potentially locking Gratenburg Pact nations up in a deadly insurgency for several years.

We want to give the Gratenburg Pact their Acaema, their Afghanistan, their Vietnam.

With all due respect,

Oculus 3-4

The missiles' RADAR seekerheads were able to determine that the enemy was in fact attempting to jam them; being small enough to fit into a missile, the RADAR couldn't quite be expected to be capable of burning through modern high end jammers. However, what it could be expected to do would be to home directly in on the enemy's radiation source utilizing home-on-jam mode, effectively using the enemy's own ECM suite to target them (and considering the enemy's high degree of RADAR stealth, this more or less made the missile's job easier). When the missiles' "brains" realized what the enemy was attempting whilst being hit by barrage and spot jamming, this mode was automatically initiated. With the EO/IIR imager providing an additional layer of sensory data and the home-on-jam mode of the seekerhead keeping them on target, the missiles would still stand a good chance of scoring a hit in spite of heavy enemy maneuvering and countermeasures...

Oculus 4-1

The drone was able to confirm one bandit splashed before it was splashed itself, effectively confirming an earlier suspicion that the enemy was operating multiple air superiority fighters in the area. Following this, another drone was called up; this would be operating passively. Fighters in the immediate vicinity held their own position, monitoring their own passive sensors in the hopes that the enemy would jump the gun.

Raptor 1

Raptor 1 was the callsign of A Squadron (Interceptor) of the aircraft carrier Reverence. Split into three flights of four M1A90 air superiority fighters each with an attached M1E90 electronic warfare platform, the squadron was spread over a fifty mile front operating in support of an M1E73 drone callsign Oculus 2-1. It was the later that was the first to pick up the signals being emitted by the Arthuristan Nimrods, although adjacent squadrons and reconnaissance aircraft were soon picking up identical or similar signals of their own. In this case, an order was handed down from Fleet: hold fire for the moment. A few minutes later, another order was passed down to the flight commanders and drone crews, this time with a time to fire.

Across the line, M1E90s equipped with G4D30 long range missiles would unleash their ordnance simultaneously to maximize surprise.

At a standoff distance of 400 kilometers, 4 G4D30 missiles were launched for every Nimrod detected. For now, the missiles would ride to their targets via the enemy's radiation emissions. If the enemy attempted countermeasures, tactics could be changed.

At mach 6, the missiles would arrive at their targets within 3 minutes; however, they enemy still had to detect the missiles and then recognize them as missiles, and by then it's likely that the missiles would be even closer.

CIC, Super Dreadnaught Archangelus

The Exalted Servant had been keenly monitoring the progress of the day's battle. Things were going quite well, thus far; slow, but well none the less. All intelligence indicated that the enemy was still unaware of the location of Wargroup Leviathan, no doubt due in part to the concerted efforts by the Doomani to oppose enemy reconnaissance operations at every turn. While some casualties had been taken among the UAVs, the damage done to the enemy more than made up for this in the grand scheme of things. After all, the Doomani enjoyed total numerical superiority at the moment.

Operations against the New Edomites were thus far achieving all objectives: their ability to reconnoiter the area north of the Adiuvo Islands had been greatly diminished with the loss of the AWACS and a strong degree of caution had been forced into them. All that was needed for the moment was to delay them, that the rest of the fleet might be free to engage the isolated Arthuristans and prevent the enemy from consolidating. A simple strategy of divide and conquer.

The location of the Arthuristan fleet was well known to the Doomani and their allies at this point; their stumbling through Tyrrhenia had alerted every submarine in the area and every move of the enemy's fleet was being tracked. Everyone already knew where to fire their missiles; however, to attack the fleet directly at this point would be a simple waste of ammunition. Before Uriel was ready to move against them in force, the enemy's fighter coverage needed to be degraded.

Other methods to reduce the enemy's ability to defend themselves could be taken, however. With the latest attack against the enemy Nimrods, it was likely that their ASW coverage would be severely crippled. The allied submarine captains currently tracking the enemy fleet would have a far easier time causing utter havoc amongst them if that ended up being the case; even if they could only destroy picket ships, that would represent great progress towards the ultimate objective of annihilating the enemy fleet. That part of the fight was entirely on the Ralkovians; it could, however, end up deciding the course of the battle.

And then, of course, was the Tehraani fleet, approaching from the same direction as the Arthuristans and not terribly far behind...

New Edomite GHQ,
Adiuvo Islands

Briggs smiled,
"Good, good. It'll be fun."
he said, glancing around the room awkwardly. He joined the Major at the window, standing just behind her and looking over her shoulder at the scene outside, his hands clasped behind his back.
"Sometimes I miss that."
he said in a detached, far away voice.
"I look at them, the soldiers, the frontline infantrymen, the REAL warriors and I wish I was with them."
he sighed,
"Combat is addictive when you're winning. The losses are what turned me off of it. I remember when I was deployed for the invasion of Kandoa. Their corrupt, crime ridden and disorganized military was just hard enough to kill off that we didn't feel guilty about it afterwards. I remember on the very first day of the invasion, we advanced fifty miles inland and captured one of their major cities. The citizens were suspicious at first, but once we got law enforcement going there, started giving out aid and stringing up the gang leaders, then everyone loved us. By the time we reached the capitol city, Operation: Retribution was more of a vacation than a war. But then, more recently, the Islamist insurgencies in the Phonencian Desert have claimed so many lives. I almost died several times there. It was too stressful and I didn't even have the worst of it, I was a Platoon Leader. When they offered me a nice, safe job with better pay and education opportunities I nearly tripped over myself trying to sign the papers."
he smiled just a little,
"Sometimes I miss being with the troops, but then I come to my senses and can't help but thank God I'm where I am now. A padded office chair is way more comfy than a coffin after all."
he leaned forward slightly, so his mouth was closer to Sara's ear.
"On the upside, the Infantry gave me a rockin' hot body."
he said playfully, smirking then going back to the desk.
"That should do it. Command will be elated to get all this intel."
he said, reading over the large report then hitting send. The reply came from an officer he knew well and considered a close friend. Briggs could tell the man had only skimmed through for the most important details based on how quick the reply came.

Code: Select all
Tell them help is on the way...

The message read simply. He knew higher-ups wound send a more detailed reply after reviewing his report but when one looked past all the fluff, it'd say essentially the same thing...

Phonencian Sea

The small group of ships, Task Force Stalingrad, all turned in the same direction at the same time as though they were all physically connected. They sped up, plowing through the waves like vicious sharks towards their prey. But they weren't headed for the Adiuvo Islands. If one made use of a set of binoculars, he could just see a floating mass of grey far into the distance, floating on the water and growing larger every minute. The Phonencian Imperial Armada was assembling for the first time in centuries. Hundreds of ships sailed out into the ocean, smaller Task Forces being absorbed into the fleet as it moved, like a snowball rolling downhill. As the fleet got larger and larger, so too did the hope that the Adiuvo Islands would remain in Coalition hands...

Teleconference

The Emperor's screen blinked back on and he had an almost smug grin on his face,
"Military forces from Mordh, Taronix and Severia are all going to support the Northwestern Front and naval strategy. I've transmitted their respective Orders of Battle to you. I'm still awaiting reply from a few other allies as well."
he steepled his fingers and leaned back in his chair, crossing his legs under his desk.
"If the leaders of the world would just get together casually and form friendships, alliances would function much better I believe."
he said, referring partially to himself and the leaders of Polarex, Capisaria, Libertarian Governance and the United Socialist States of America.

Adiuvo Islands,
Task Force Blackshark

The few ships of the Phonencian sub-hunting Task Force were abuzz with activity, the Cruisers preparing to launch at any targets given to them while the LY-910 Shadowhawks aboard the I.N.S. Matthew the Great screamed down the launch deck and into the air, internal bays filled with AIM-120 AMRAAMs and AIM-9 Sidewinders. The nine planes of Jericho Squadron hit their afterburners and headed out to join their Edomite allies. The two forces used the same planes and CROMWELL system, meaning target coordination between them would be ridiculously easy.

Task Force Fleet Epsilon,
Tyrrhenia, north east of Sebaeria
CIC of the HUS Yanet, Flag ship of the 5th Naval Battle Formation

Admiral Haneya placed his cup of coffee contently besides his main console. A large screen projected a black and green image of the war theatre. Taskforce fleet Epsilon had met up a traveled in proximity to the Doomani until they had past Ralkovia, from that point on they had split and taken a route that took them around the Island of Sebaeria. They were in the process of sweeping around the Island as part of a pincer move, maintaining a distance from it that kept them outside from the country’s EEZ. The Taskforce fleet was split up in ten Surface groups backing up 5 expeditionary groups from the Maritime Army carrying amphibious assault forces, alongside a flotilla of freighters transporting several divisions worth soldiers. All previously stationed in the UWO.

The vulnerable surface groups were fare behind, screened the more combat capable carriers and capital groups. They all kept a reasonable distance from each other in cover in reach and prevent easy detection allocation of attacks against the whole fleet. The carrier groups had taken the lead a head carrying nearly all aircraft and recon assets, of the capital groups who all but entirely geared for strike capacity. The others were trailing behind it limited available escorts, screened by the forward force against whatever enemy strike force manages to get a shot.

They exchanged coms from time to time to maintain good picture of the battle field. They had a major advantage due to the fact they had a good idea where to look if they had to find the ICE naval forces, since those were in the process of gathering at the Adiuvo Islands.

Haneya had his independent submarines infiltrate ahead of him towards the eastern waters of Adiuvo to plug the holes of Ralkovian submarines that were swarming the waters in Tyrrhenia. Staying roughly around 1000km to the east of the Islands providing some slow down and early warning against anything more arriving from that direction. It was the only direct any reinforcement could realistically come from, all other areas were practically cut off from entrance by Ralkovia and its supporters.

Recon was up in the form of U4N UAVs per surface group at a distance between 600-1200km from each command ship. These maintained all but near total radio silence, the UAV used all but exclusively is ESM systems, listening for radar and radio traffic in the area, rare turning on it radar system. These were back up by CAPs consisting of F6 stealth fighters. The surface groups themselves, although AEW up, had only the nav radars on, who were the easiest to hide. The AEW just loitered listening on their passive systems, waiting for orders to turn on their radars when needed.

“Engagements between forward aircraft and recon assets have stared all across the Doomani front. It had begun. “ Haneya mumbled. “Have all carriers prepare flights on level 5 standby. I want to be able to launch as force recon or strike package as soon as needed.”

“Four strike wings consisting of H6 bombers loaded for a maritime strike have sortied from the UWO as requested Admiral.” The Fleet’s air officer reported. “They’re taking the route via the channel. They’ll loiter at least 1500km from the island, outside of their detection range.”

“Good, We’ll wait and slowly progress south. We will let the Doomani and Ralkovians nibble at the ICE recon assets more before we make ourselves known.”

Battle Fleet Alpha

Poartina was looking over some notes he had scratched down on some paper, He was amazed at the international attention in this conflict. Yet Parliament seemed to have yet to declare war on anybody. He knew what this meant, and he knew that because of this, a very different war was going to be fought. Never the less, He thought. If anyone needs answers of what is going on, it'll be the soldiers.. The sun was rising in the east, its rays penetrating the windows to the quarters of the Admiral. He furrowed his brow, and finally gazed out into the calmness of the morning. His gaze was calm, but still thoughtful.

His moment of tranquil was interrupted by a knock at the door. His gaze shifted in time to see the Captain peering at him from behind the dark wood. ''Sir, report came in just a few minutes ago, Permission to Enter?'' the man asked, the Admiral stared for a moment, before removing his reading glasses and adjusting the papers on his desk. He greeted the Captain with a smile and offered him to sit.

As the captain entered he took a set in the chair, its cushion slowly decompressing. ''What's the news Captain?'' the admiral inquired. The captain was holding a yellow folder, he opened it and read the first few lines to the Admiral. ''Belvengria has under His Majesty's orders- deployed the Alexandropl' Armada. They are currently still in Ixnay waters but till be heading full steam towards Tyrrhenia.'' The captain stopped before handing the folder to the Admiral.

Poartina took it and opened it, placing his reading glasses back on, and began to read. After scanning the papers and photos inside, he let out a sigh and laid the folder down before taking his glasses of and interlocking his fingers on the desk.

''Is something the matter sir?'' the Captain asked, noticing a certain discomfort in Poartina's face. Poartina looked at him and lightly scratched the top of his lip before speaking. ''Almost forty thousand soldiers are on this Armada. They're carrying full armament on the surface ships.'' He stood up to gaze once again out the window to the tranquil sea being engulfed by the red and orange of the sun.

''What does that mean sir?'' the Captain was curious now and shifted in his seat some. Poartina turned and looked at him placing his hands behind him. ''It means Captain that Pravengria and the entire Commonwealth is planning on invading Ralkovia.'' The captain sat puzzled, ''I know that sir, what does it mean for full armament?'' he asked, starting to wonder if he'd regret the question.

Poartina walked behind his chair readjusting the papers again on his desk. ''After discussing with Parliament, the Commonwealth and the Royal Court, they've approved that this should be a main concern. They are not declaring war for one reason Captain. They're going to pull a surprise attack on Ralkovia. His Majesty sent a Communique to Prussia-Steinbach and the ACA stating they were having our fleets passing by and ensuring that they weren't there for the Prussians. The reaction we may get would be precisely what the War Ministry wants. Prussia -Steinbach a rather irresponsible nation at that, seems so confident in its own nonsense that they might want to 'obliterate' the Pravene fleet.''

The Captain was a bit surprised and didn't seem to quite follow, ''So whats the initial plan sir?''

Poartina took his seat, his voice was low and calm now. ''One of two things can happen here, if Prussia-Steinbach decides to grow the balls and attack the Imperial fleet, it will result as a means for war for CORE, ICE and any other wiling allies to Pravengria. Because we are not at war with anyone, not even with Ralkovia, it will draw the international attention at Prussia for being war monger. If that happens, it will set forth a plan the War Ministry has. You understand the Gratenburg conference and their attention at the IASM correct?''

The Captain nodded, listening eagerly. ''The Gratenburg Pact wants to take out the IASM to try and re-affirm the ACA's grip on the region which shifts the balance of power. If Prussia attacks us, it gives a meaning for other nations to assault Prussia. Thus keeping them occupied, the result is the IASM would still be at large. The enemy of my enemy is my friend Captain. This allows a distraction, Prussia would be rather ill fated to try and fight a war on two fronts, the Alexandropl' Armada has no intention of sailing towards Tyrrhenia the same way we came in. They're going to surprise the Ralkovians, with the intention of inacting a massive attack at their doorstep. Shock and Awe.'' Poartina finished, then continued.

''Full armament means that if it became necessary, the Armada of Alexandropl' could fling hundreds of Chemical weapons, along with conventional arsenals of weapons in a surprise attack with such ferociousness that it would devastate and supposedly spread fear in the Ralkovian populace themselves. By aiming at a kind of Scorched Earth policy specifically designed against the Ralkovian military, the idea would be to spread chaos.''

The captain was dumbfounded by this, it meant that if it became dire. The Pravengrians were willing to throw every last inch of ordinance at Ralkovia. ''What of civilians sir?'' the Captain asked.

Poartina looked at him, ''The idea is to not target civilians, we do not want a genocide. Pravengria does not use its weapons on the civilian populace. The military and key industries are the targets. By destroying roads, trams, an factories on a coastal area would allow a full invasion. By attacking like this, the populace in the area we decide to hit the shores of will adopt a mob-like mentality and try to run in fear. This should keep the military partially occupied, trying to control the fear of the civilians and dealing with foreign forces on their soil. At the same time, ICE will have a way to use the Gratenburg Pact to its advantage if Prussia does indeed attack us. It'll allow for pre-emotive measures for a pre-planned invasion on Ralkovian soil. Any enemy fleet we encounter, is to be absolutely dessimated. The Commonwealth doesn't want anything stopping ICE from stepping on Ralkovian soil Captain.''

[OoC: Pravengria, I'm going to need the info on your fleet; exactly what vessels are in Tyrr, how many, what they are, where they are exactly. Just TG the basics to me. But do it as soon possible. Thanks.

EDIT: Wait, what the hell? Prav, TGs aren't IC. My government hasn't replied. I haven't threatened to "obliterate" anything. Edit that out, now.

EDIT TWO: The metagaming in your post is ridiculous. The only thing you know about Grat, is that it is probably happening and that there is a chance it might have something to do with the IASM. You are ICly making shit up; OoCly you're taking things said outside of role play and inserting them into role playing. You need to cut out almost everything you said about the Gratenberg Conference, the ACA, and myself. And for reference: I won't be attacking your fleet.]

Pravengrian Fleet currently in Tyrrhenian Waters; at coordinates [XX XX] as of this moment. Travelling at [XX] knots; expected to reach destination (Adiuvo Islands) in [XX] hours. Fleet Objective: Reinforcement of allies against your government. Recommended Course of Action: Elimination of fleet by long-range missile, ASAP. Military assistance not strategically viable at this time.

“Covert missive sent, sir.”

“Good. It is encrypted?”

“With our new, numerical, eighteen-language system.”

“Good. It is delivered instantly?”

“Ja.”

“Good.”

The man, clad in a black, pinstriped suit, strolled purposefully to the other side of the room. It had no windows; the only form of light came from the ten computers stationed at various places within the room. It was foggy with smoke; of fifteen men inside the enclosed, twenty-by-twenty room, thirteen were chain-smoking. Quintessential of modern Germans.

HMMS Stryker, Centuar Class Light Carrier, Flagship Convoy TM-01

"Well gentlemen," Called Admiral Stanston to the assembled officers. "Seems that Morrdun has finally decided to give us our landing orders, least that what the communique I've received says."

"So where are going in Admiral?" Asked Major-General Wallis, a veteran Marine who was itching to see action.

"Tyrrhenia's Arctic region, close enough to Ralkovia to build up our forces in relative safety." Answered Stanston. "Though it does involve sailing up through Tyrrhenia's western waters."

"That could be a problem." Wallis muttered.

"Agreed." Stanston nodded grimly. "Means all of our convoys will have to run a gauntlet in order to keep us supplied, but nobody ever said that war was easy."

"Speaking of convoys, when can we expect the next one?"

"It should have set sail from Corbhen a couple of days after we did, I'm lead to believe that it'll contain most of the RMAF's ground personal for this campaign, runway construction material and one of our fleet carriers."

"Hm, means air cover will be a bit light fer a while."

"Yes, though the Stryker will remain on station whilst her sister ship the Larkholm will cover the return convoy back to Morrdh. Not ideal but its all we've got until the RMAF has set up shop."

"Ah we'll make do." Grinned Wallis. "In the mean time I'll pick some of me best scouts for a recce once we've reached our destination."

Air War

The flight leader of the Shadowhawks cursed under his breath; by now the enemy missiles were locked on, but just to add some extra confusion he switched off his jamming and went for the deck again, dispensing the last of his chaff as he was rocked back in his seat. Moving down low, he tasted death close at hand--a rogue wave or obstacle in these unknown waters would be the end of him, or the missile itself. He felt sweat beading him. Nevertheless, his fear was not great. The flight leader had wept at the death of King Mark and yet envied him. He was devoted to the Monarchy, to God, his country. The image in his mind was of his commander dying at his post; he would do the same if need be, but frustrate the enemy much in pursuit of that. He had a countdown in his mind. And was aware of his flight mate--not enough time to eject. Not enough. There was a choking sound; a flare of static, then nothing; he did not see the explosion and the fire swirling and obscuring the attempt at ejecting before the wreckage began to plummet into the sea from the other plane.

But several seconds later...he was alive.

The Lord giveth, and the Lord taketh away. Blessed be the name of the Lord.

For the rest of the air operations, they were aware that the Recon Flight led by Captain Daniella Nimrod silently began moving into the air operations space of the Doomingsland forces. Over the air command net it seemed that the Arthuristans were getting it hard too. She hoped that the result of the information that had bee sent--by the dying [i]Diatryma[i], by the escort flight, by the Recon Flight itself--would be received and passed on to SATCOM, and that New Edomite and Lamonian battle satellites would begin sweeping the area in question. If standard operations were proceeding, the New Edomites, using their limited numbers, were operating over the air space which could give them ideally a day's warning before the enemy's actual attack. They had enough fuel for another hour or so's monitoring of the situation, she had her people remain on station.

New Edomite GHQ, Adiuvo Islands

Major Wendt said, "I'm not really an infantryman; I'm an intelligence officer specializing in planning operations. That's my main role on the General's staff. I've been under fire, but I'm a lousy shot." she held up one of her rather small hands. "What I am is someone with a pretty good head on my shoulders, and I know from my previous campaigns I've been in that I've got four o' clock in the morning courage. I've slept in BDUs lots of times, and actually my first major action was one where I ended up being drafted as a runner because we had to move our headquarters when it was targeted by the enemy. That was during our First Civil War; I entered it towards the end. I ended that night reeking of puke--because I fell in a disemboweled body on the way from one mobile HQ to another. Those fucking radios." she said. Wendt shrugged, and hid her grief; the bowels she had fall into had been those of one of her friends; they had gone through the academy together. The young signals officer had been torn to pieces by a rocket."

She nodded to him. "Let's get back in, I'm going to be needed, we'll need to be on the ball. Lord Augrim will be in one bunker, General Barak in another." she almost laughed, she couldn't help but smile, which lighted up her face, at the thought that this would be their 'date'. She wasn't sure she liked him yet--he was awfully in her space, the only difference as far as she could tell between him and Barak is that Barak kept touching her rear end, Briggs just ogled her, while starting at her, whispering in her ear, touching her hands. "You can ride in my Javelin-C if you want. We're going to be doing a final test of the R-COM-NET, just in case, you never know with radios."

A thought came at her out of left field, startling her. Which of the two men would treat her more badly better--the General or the Captain?

The Teleconference

"Emperor Shelton," said General Pahath-Moab, "I'm sorry to cut this short, but we have some matters in our own region to deal with. I am preparing to send reinforcements if need be, but of course they would be reinforcements---not relief. If ICE fails, then naturally we will have no choice but to deal with things as we see fit. Thank you very much for the information and the talk. May God be with you."

Northwest Armada, Approaching Auidvo Islands
Tyrrhenia

The Armada had left not so long ago and was approaching the Auidvo Islands, the taskforce still had a while before they arrived but were making progress on their time in movement. The Armada doing everything it could to remain silent and stealthy so the any enemy recon out this far would hopefully not spot them. They would approach the islands from the northwest and once arriving would begin air superiority and suppression of foreign navies out at sea and abroad. Many collective allied nations navies were near the island and that would help with clearing the islands of I.C.E naval power.

Admiral Klavosk had taught and learned Naval strategy for twelve years in two different Naval Acadamies in Mularia. He had come to take command of the Armada during Klubtz rise to power. He had not participated in all the conflicts during the months but he was excited to be here and would try with all his might to win this fight, and bring glory to the Ordernites and the state.

Near 4th Fleet, Approaching Adiuvo Islands

The fighter force has exchanged one Su-101 for one recon drone, not a good attrition rate comsidering that their fleet was likely outnumbered by a measuraable margin. Nevertheless, another flight made its way towards the general direction where the combat took place. Around two thirds of the UCAVs still survive and, if they were lucky enough, could still find the whereabouts of the enemy fleet's heavy units yet.

Near the Adiuvo Islands

Nimrods, as the 4th Fleet's C-in-C aviation predicted, were virtual sitting ducks, with practically no defences other than its jammer. What saved the aircrafts from a complete massacre was Alison's decision to disperse them on a very wide arc.

Six aircrafts, flying the most ahead, were targeted by enemy missiles. One, the most forward of them all, was hit and destroyed with its crew hardly realised that they were under attack. They were keenly aware of their vulnerability and, when one of their number disappeared from the radar screen, the other aircrafts nearby switched off their radars, turned tail and ran, hoping to reach friendly fighters before they shared the same fate.

CIC SDGN APNS Zeus, Flagship 4th Fleet, approaching Adiuvo Islands

"The situation is untenable, Comrade Admiral," said Commodore Alfred Wilkins, the fleet's Chief of Staff. "I seriously recommend we make a tactical retreat, rendezvous with one of our allied fleets and try again in a few days."

He had good reasons for saying that. A second satellite pass over Tyrrhenia less than 15 minutes ago had inflated the number of unknown ships still further. Again, satellites being satellites, they had virtually no concrete data on the strength and composition of the hostiles. One thing was clear, however - they were very sure that a concerted effort was going on to capture the Islands."

"You've shared the latest intel with the New Edomites, haven't you, Al?"

"Yes, Comrade Admiral. Plus our own airborne brigade on the Island, of course. They've been placed under New Edomite command for the time being and are preparing to help defend the island as we speak."

"There you have it, Al, the reason why we can't retreat." Alison said. "They're counting on us - our allies, our own ground troops. We have four divisions worth of heavy forces stuck on our transport ships and masses of ammunition and fuel, vital for any defence of the Islands. It's our job to get them there."

"But -"

"What I'm not, Al, is suicidal." Aiison replied, seeking to reassure her chief of staff. "Have the 4th Fleet veer north and East for a bit. This will delay us for, say, between 12 to 24 hours, but it will also prevent the other side from being catching us between their fleets. In hindsight, we probably shouldn't have rushed headlong into the area without doing more sub-clearing first." Both realised how much of an understatement this was, but both refrained from saying it out loud. "See if we can meet up with the Emmerians. In the meantime, look at this." She pointed at the screen displaying the results of the satellite pass. "This bunch are likely to be the same fleet of hostiles that we spotted with the first satellite pass. Look how they moved from their original course? No wonder our recon assets couldn't find them. Our Nimrods came under fire from that general direction, too, so it all matches. It's time we send in the bombers. I know we don't have a solid bead on them, but the missile packs can do their own course correction. Not an optimum solution compared to having a dedicated AWAC platform do it, but necessary now."

"Aye aye, Comrade Admiral. Anything else?"

"Yes. Have our subs close up on the fleet - both those organic to the 4th and the 6 squadrons under the Adiuvo Islands Command. We'll need their help to protect our own heavy units from enemy submarines."

Raptor 1, Engaging Nimrods

"Missiles has lost contact with target. Raptor Shooters, illuminate," came the order from Oculus 2-1.

Moments later the enormous AESA sets of the launching M1A90s were switched on at high power, lighting up the fleeing Nimrods from over 400 kilometers away. A mid course update was sent to the missiles, putting them back on target; they need only keep their beams on target for a few seconds, just long enough for the missiles to go terminal. Once this was accomplished, the M1A90s cut power and broke off, making sure they would be well away from where they'd illuminated the targets from in the unlikely event the enemy had gotten off any missiles in the few seconds they had been active.

Wargroup Leviathan

After a conference with his opposite numbers in the Tehraani fleet and the Ralkovian Air Force, Uriel had formulated a plan for a massive joint strike against the Arthuristan fleet. Knowing the exact location and continued movements of their fleet was certainly coming in handy, as the Ralks still needed to launch their bombers; in the mean time, Uriel would ensure that his component of the strike would be in the air to meet up with the allied components. Over a thousand M1A90s would be taking part in the operation, supported by squadrons of drones and EW aircraft. While he wouldn't launch them right this second for the most part, they would be up there by the time friendly forces arrived. For now, a more pressing matter concerned him: intelligence indicated that a RORSAT had passed over his fleet, likely detecting it, within the past 15 minutes. While nobody could be certain that the satellite belonged to a belligerent country, the fact that it was even passing over that particular route was very telling. The fleet was already engaging in evasive maneuvers; he would now adjust course more significantly to ensure that the fleet was out of the area as quickly as possible in case the enemy got any bright ideas.

Rear Guard Reconnaissance

As of yet, the Edomites had not stumbled into the rear guard's trap; it was starting to become more and more likely that the Doomani and New Edomites had seen the last of one another for quite some time, as Leviathan's rear recon screen was moving further and further away from the Edomite forward screen...

Rammkomp Air Group

Raskovia was the gem of the Ralkovian Empire, it was a six thousand year old city that hadn't experienced an attack in two millenia. It carried with it the name of the rulers of Ralkovia itself. Raskovia, every Emperor had his impact of what the Ralkovians proudly boasted as the "Oldest Running City in the World." Portions of the city had been leveled and rebuilt with each Imperial Reign. A constant changing of the waters, if you would. And yet, every Emperor had left a historical part of the city running. It had been under Emperor Joshua's reign though, that the city had been completely leveled and rebuilt. It was an enterprise meant to suit Emperor Joshua Raskov II's tastes. And in order to protect such a gleaming pearl was Air Strip 1. A massive sprawling complex built solely to house a security squad for the Emperor of Ralkovia, constructed across the Penada Lake.

It had been nearly three hours that Ralkovia had put nearly ten thousand B-88 Sturmkrieg's with escorts and tankers in the air. Having them fly low and through the mountains and then skimming for a short while over the sea, so they remained hidden from even Censorian Radar. With Ralkovian Submarines zoned in on the Arthuristan fleet, home base had made plans for an interception, which had quickly been thrown away. Emperor Raskov had thrown his hand into the ring and he wanted something flashier.

In his own words "Ten thousand bombers should do the trick." Working in conjuction with the Doomani and Tehraanian navy and airforce, Ralkovia was about to engage in a huge strike against the Arthuristans. Armed with Doomani produced G1C31 missiles, otherwise designated as "Zacha" or Ralkovian for "Mockery," it was a cheap, long range missile. At most, it cost around $450,000 to produce. Twenty four of these for each bomber resulted in a grand total of nearly two hundred and forty thousand Zacha.

Teleconference

"And you as well General,"
the Emperor replied, watching the General's screen blink dark. With a sigh he glanced towards the leaders of Arthurista and Emerria,
"What about your forces? Any plans thus far?"
he asked.

Captain Briggs gave Wendt's shoulder a comforting squeeze but didn't speak. He'd been in similair situations before. He'd seen the aftermath of Phonencian rocket and artillery barrages on Kandoan positions, Islamic IED strikes on Phonencian HMMWVs and napalm hits on civilain villages in the Kandoan jungle. He didn't think of it often. Doing so only distracted him from his present responsibilities. Sara's radiant smile did a good job of distracting him from that train of thought and he accepted her offer (perhaps too eagerly)
"Sure I'd love to. Thanks."
he glanced at the computer screen one last time, making sure he'd closed everything down then left with the Major.

Air War

The Phonencian LY-910s, coordinating with the Edomites, joined them in their patrol, allowing the duration of the patrol to be extended and its detection range to be increased.

Morridane Convoy TM-01, South of Gholgoth

Alert drills throughout the entire convoy had steadily been stepped up, especially as it neared the southern boundaries of the region of Gholgoth. A tense few days had passed on by with everyone fearful of a possible Gothic attack against the ships, though it proved to be a minor relief when none came. It be another week or so before they were pass Gholgoth and entering Tyrrhenian waters, though a couple of submarines had pressed onwards to scout the route out. Things had become almost routine, Gannet AEWs maintained a constant watch over the fleet as the troops continued to train and exercise. Quartermasters were kept constantly busy, keeping tabs on supplies and updating and recalculating their figures. Plus arrangements had been made for ships to pick up additional supplies and more fuel from neutral ports along the convoy's route, the shear logistical effort would stretch the Commonwealth's resources.

Though then was the matter of the convoy's arrival in Tyrrhenian waters.

It was bad enough that they had to sail for the Arctic region just north of the region let alone run a gauntlet through western Tyrrhenia in order to reach their destination. The fact that the Commonwealth wasn't at war yet counted in their favour, no announcement had been made by the Morridane government and therefore technically speaking the Commonwealth was a neutral with regards to the Ralkovian War. By this logic it was hoped that the Morridane ships would be left alone, thus giving time for Morridane forces to be built-up north of Ralkovia before the Commonwealth actually entered the war.

Whether that logic held true would remain to be seen.
