There do seem to be a quite a few corporations seeking to batten on the Treasury, come hail rain or shine, don't there?
Hi, Sib
Also, the amounts of money do seem to be different - Obama didn't propose giving $2trn in money above & beyond the requested budgets to anyone, let alone the corporations.

He is right, under Bush the debt increased from $4.9T to over $10T, he came into office with a $400B surplus and soon turned that into a 1.2T deficit (remember the 2009 budget is Bush's not Obamas' like Fox make you think). Also under Bush the entire world expect for China hated our guts, now many nations see the US positively expect for China and the nutty dictatorships.

Hi NC
Long time no talk. Of course, I am not on NSG much anymore. Hope everything is well with you.

I don't see the correlation between the first sentence and the rest of your post.
Have you ever read Marx's work?

A lot of this is true. However, some of it is unwarranted:
(1) Bush is not entirely responsible for the deficit. Besides the truism that no President is totally responsible for the deficit (he may only collect taxes or revenues as determined by Congress, and must spend money as ordered by Congress, after all), Bush's policies are only partially responsible for the change in fiscal outlook from 2001 to 2009.
(2) Bush was actually quite popular in an entire region of the world - Africa. This is mostly due to one of the few things I'm willing to admit he got right - he substantially increased both aid and funding for anti-disease research aimed at stopping epidemics before they leave Africa. It's one area of policy where Obama could actually stand to learn from his predecessor.
