According to the Namorese Constitution, flags that advocate religious or ethnic hatred are banned in Namor. Also, flags that portray fascism and Nazism in a positive light is banned.

The flag of the Republic of Namor is banned from public usage, and can be only used for historical or educational purposes. It is also illegal to fly the flag of the "Second Republic of Oteki" puppet government that administered Txotai from 1966 to 1970. These flags are considered reactionary, and can only be used for educational purposes.

In the Intergalactic Empire of Holy Trek, any flag that displays discrimination against religious groups, gays, or races (and in Holy Trek, its not just the various Human races, but alien races, too) is illegal. Parties found with them on open display are subject to a heavy fine and/or arrested. While we promote the freedom of expression, there is a point where said freedom goes too far. As for political flags, swastikas are outlawed. We do not currently have a socialist party, so the question of displaying a hammer and sickle flag is left to the judgement of the local judges, and largely depends on the manner(spirit) in which it is displayed.

There are no particular flags banned in the TBRE, due to our lax freedom of expression policies, although some may be condemned and rejected by your fellow citizens, such as those related to our long-time-enemy USSR Natureland.

Enacted recently in 2010, the Symbolism and National Heritage act banned the use of certain flags in public areas. A very brief list for the public listed the use of the flag(s) of the Ancien Regime of France, and anything related to it as indecent to the public eye as it represents our past oppressors and still causes many of our people to complain whenever it was flying. Another banned flag is the one of the Nazi Party, again for past grievances against man and Mustelidae kind.

These two are the major ones that are now not allowed to be shown outside of a historical context, but many others are being kept from being used, but are of lesser importance.
This forum is filled with politically biased cancer, to be honest.

The Japanese flag from world war two is not even offensive, does not invoke the same rage as the Nazi flag.

Generally the only flags bearing an enemy state in wartime are banned at the national level. The only time this has happened was the seize of South Territory by Ganosia in 1888 since then end of hostilities flying the flag of Ganosia or South Eeri is no longer banned at the national level. However some local communities might have their own flag codes of what can and cannot be flown.

An understandable position given the history, but perhaps 21st Century Mexico should consider adding the French flag to this list since it seems to be based on settling some old scores.

We are undecided on the French flag. The French supported the creation of the Second Mexican Empire, but attacked us as well.

However, as I forgot to mention, the flag of Arizona is banned as well.

Should the flags of all southwestern states that were at one time part of Mexico be banned (since they are arguably not legitimate)? Or is it only states that have taken up arms against Mexico or that remain hostile to Mexico?

We don't ban the display of any flags.

Though if you insist on flying the flag of someone we're actively at war with, don't be surprised if you're treated under the assumption that you're an enemy.
