Altruistic Paladins wrote:"The feeling is mutual. They should be accepting sign-ups in the cafeteria. I have a small business in the infirmary to take care of at this time that I can clear-up in a minute or two minutes. I will meet you again in the cafeteria. Until then, adieux," Bramwell uttered in a amiable manner. The balaclava hid a smile still present that Bramwell could not explain away the presence of the smile. As he walked into the sterile white area that was the infirmary. As he rounded a corner with a television playing a cable news network, he found himself in a waiting room. There was a chair that held Sakura, and there was a uncomfortable silence that overtook the room as Sakura grabbed her chair arms and looked at Bramwell with an uncomfortable stare that never broke.

"Hi Sakura. I wanted to say goodbye to Makoto before I left," Bramwell declared in a still cheerful manner. Sakura still did not respond. The uncomfortable feelings overtook Bramwell, as he did not want to know what Sakura did. After thirty seconds dragged themselves away, a nurse invaded the silence to tell Bramwell.

"Ah, you must be Bramwell. I just wanted to tell you that Makoto will not be available for the next hour. Just know that Makoto will be fine by the time you get back from the mission. I wish I could get payed that much for several hours of work, much better than twenty-hour shifts," the nurse said as she exited the room. He did not notice Sakura, and Bramwell was unsure what Sakura thought. It confused him especially, when he was aportated to the cafeteria seconds later, though not properly angled to the floor. The floor proceeded to tackle his back and made the air in his chest retreat for twenty-one seconds that despised Bramwell. Bramwell was still confused about the mistake's seige of his circulatory system as his legs carried him up and his eyes scanned for Mina.

It was at this moment that Mina noticed Bramwell as she ran towards him. "Hey I've been waiting for you"! She said, apparently happy to see him. She gave him a brief hug before backing off. "Hehe....sorry". She said. "So shall we go and apply for the vollunteering"? She asked him. After all she thought it be better to go and wait for him as she would hate for signups to close and he not make it.

Caitlin did some basic stuff, like putting on her costume, cleaning some stuff she left laying around in her room while there was still time, and so on, before heading down to the hangar bay. Once there, however, she just smiled over to Tyler and Sarah, and anyone else she recognized in the room, before she just went and stood somewhere, waiting for whenever the mission started. She wasn't in a hurry, and didn't particularly care when it started, because she could just pass the time with her various thoughts.

For the first time since Cassie told me her story, I felt something other than nausea and horror. "You aren't a murderer, Cassie. Don't ever say that. Don't ever think that. You did nothing wrong." There was fire in my voice.

My eyes softened. "Now, come on. We need to get some breakfast." I stood up, offering her my hand to help her up.

Cassie gave a sad glance to the floor, before looking back up to Tara. She would try to do what Tara said, but it was hard for her to get past the fact she, well, felt like she murdered her parents. Sure, it may of been justified for what she had gone through, but it was hard for her to get over the fact that she had taken some other persons life away. That wasn't exactly something easy for her to get over. So her simple response was "I'll try" to what she said.

Cassie took her hand and helped pull herself up, but she shook her head to what Tara said. "I'm not hungry, and I don't feel like going out there....I don't feel like being in public right now" She said to Tara. The fact she hadn't ate dinner, and now was refusing breakfast wasn't exactly a good thing. Her reasoning for not wanting to be around others right now was likely a mixture of her not liking her friends seeing her this way, and just not feeling good enough to be out and around a bunch of gazing eyes, that would likely be looking at her even more with the fact she looked upset and like she had been crying. "You go ahead, and go on that mission that was announced. I'm sure they could use as much help as they could get. I'll be okay....I'll just stay in here..." She said, trailing off and turning her gaze to a wall that she was looking at sadly.

Alexandria stepped into the dorms quietly. Her long, snow white hair was up in a single pony tail that dropped from the back of her head down to her shoulder blades. Her eyes searched the villain dorms for someone who could help her out. From what she could tell, she knew no one that she saw. Good, she thought to herself. I needed something like this, a fresh start. Continually looking around, she didn't know quite what to say to anybody, so instead she lay her suit case down on the floor and sat down on it, resting her elbow on her knee and her chin on her palm. She had gotten extremely tired from the journey up, it wasn't exactly a pleasant experience, especially since Alexandria hated heights.

After awhile, Alexandria got bored of sitting and thinking. With me, she thought, It's never good when I think alone. Slowly standing up, she half-shouted nervously into the room of people. "H-hey! Can anyone help me out? I'm.. new here!"
Where must we go, we who wander this wasteland, in search for our better selves?
In Egypt's sandy silence, all alone,

The only shadow that the Desert knows:—

Nought but the Leg remaining to disclose
The site of this forgotten Babylon.

Wonder like ours, when thro' the wilderness

What powerful but unrecorded race
Once dwelt in that annihilated place.

The line just grew longer before Rachael's eyes, and barely anyone seemed not to want it. They were probably the heroes, she guessed - like they'd get anywhere in the world making everyone rely on them. It was much better to stay on your own, with no-one to guard the backs of and no-one to guard yours. It was harder to get hurt that way. She was probably better off without Ruby anyway. When she was there, Rachael was continually hurt - now, it was just a dull ache of hatred. Much better to be alone.

Once she had seen all she wanted to see and eaten a small breakfast, she headed back to her dorm. Perhaps that book would miraculously become more interesting after a few hundred reads? As she passed through the common rooms she noted yet another new student. The were spawning like rabbits - though at least rabbits were useful.

Michael glanced at the clock and noted that he would have to leave soon in order to prepare for the trip. He didn't think that any more students would show up to volunteer but decided to wait a couple of minutes more, just in case.

Meanwhile, Dominic was busy making sure all the equipment was in good order. It wasn't terribly interesting work, checking to make sure all the radios were charged and the like, but he knew how important it was. More than once he had experienced people getting hurt because they forgot to check their equipment before heading out. He noted that some students had already showed up, Tyler among them. That Michael had accepted him so eagerly baffled Dominic, who felt that it was unwise to let such an unstable person join the mission. Michael seemed confident about it though, so Dominic had to assume that his colleague knew what he was doing.

Ever since Gregorio heard the whisper for help from Antonio, which personality he's not sure, he ended his meditation then and there. He then entered Isaac's room warning John about the medallion, the majority of his memories may have been sealed but it still guides him, if subconsciously. Looking at Antonio's comatose body, with a life support system attached, he simply said to whoever in Antonio's body is listening.

"I don't know who's listening right now but I'll say this. Whatever plot is going on here, I'll stop it. Most of my memories may have been sealed but I swear over my who-knows-how-long life that, for once and for all, I. Will. Stop. It."

After that, Gregorio went to Raijin's cell. Raijin is apparently playing on some sort of console that can use any game cartridge.

"For the manifestation of Antonio's desire for freedom, you sure are content to remain behind bars." Gregorio said.

"There is no such thing as absolute freedom, and I'm more on the freedom in pursuit of happiness, with pursuit in its earlier use during the time of the American Independence which is more closer to 'hobby' than 'chasing'. If you're asking, some Russian girl made this for me." Victory music starts to play, "Finally beat the elite four. Now, why are you here?" He asked.

"While I was mediating, I had a vision. I met a monk and he showed me a mandala. Simple and geometric, with small eleven circles, eight formed the outer octagon, and two are the small circles in a yin yang, with one circle at the mandala's center. He told me that when you escape from Antonio's mind, the Antonio we know cease to exist. For his mind has fragmented into its constituent parts. He told me to fix and repair the damage by entering Antonio's shattered mind. But explain me this, I know what is represented in the octagon, the center circle, and the one on the yang side, but who is represented on the yin side?" Gregorio asked.

"There's Fire, me, Wind, Frost, Water, Wood, Earth, Metal, Shadow," He then pause as a sudden flash of realization hits, "Light, that was, my god, the Light is the mana elemental. It makes sense now."

"It's pretty obvious."

"Then why did you ask me if you already know it then?"

"Just to make sure its this hypothesis that is true and not the other one. I'll ask John if I could help strengthen the seal on Antonio, and someone needs to stop Isaac, being very lucky isn't really lucky for us, with him being under the Lady of Light's control and all." Gregorio then walk to the door.

"I was told that you block your memories, how do you even know all this?"

"Honestly, I just don't know, my body and half of my mind is just doing things on its own." Gregorio said before the door close.

Alexandria finished calling out, no one had answered. Nearby, she saw a student, younger than her, walk right past Alex after hearing her shout. Her blood boiled. Not liking to be ignored, she left her bags right where they were and stormed after the girl. She had blonde hair, and was of a similar height to Alexandria. Hey!" She called, her arms to the side and her hands bunched into tight fists. She'd better not ignore me. I don't like being ignored. Not a bit. The thought repeated itself in her head. Quickening her pace, she almost trotted after the girl. "Hey! You! I need help."

Rachael was tempted to suck all the water out of the new newbie's body, but unfortunately she couldn't do that yet. It was a shame. Dehydration never had looked fun. "That's nice," she said in the sweetest voice she could force herself into. "However, I need to go do homework and fun, fun stuff like that. I'm sure you can find someone else to help you." She smiled, then turned her back on her and continued the way to her room, hoping that for once she wouldn't get roped into helping someone.

It was clear some didn't enjoy the prospect of being with someone who's alignment called for them to kill and betray to advance themselves. After some time of filling out the application she returned to Bramwell. "So shall we set out"? She asked politely.

Declan was bored. After he had skipped on the chupacabra mission-which he still didn't understand-everything seemed like sort of a blur. Anyway, he heard a mission announcement while reading in the Vigilante common room. He wasn't sure about the details of that either, but he decided that he might as well get out of the satellite for a while and go. Maybe he could actually accomplish something this time. He then went to the registry, registered for the mission, and waited around for a while.
You're all insane.

"That we shall do. Since the trip to Italy may take a while, would it be fair to discuss what we should do when we get back?" Bramwell phrased as he started the walk to the bay. "We could start sorting what to do by interests. What are your interests in areas of hobbies and fiction?" There was a relaxed tone that was in Bramwell's tone. Whether it was a new companion, knowledge that an old one would be fine soon, or the thought that he would help people soon, the thought of molten rock expulsed from the Earth at high pressure and what it sometimes brought did not disturb Bramwell. As the vest embraced him, he thought the day may just end well for him somehow.

Taro chuckled when she mentioned that people were not helpful, wondering if she knew where she was. Generally one did not go to that particular dorm to look for help.

"Yeah, I guess the guards are busy herding all the idiot volunteers to the shuttles for the mission, normally they show you around a bit when you're new." Without asking for permission he reached down and plucked a package wrapped in clear plastic from on top of her luggage where it had been placed after everything was searched during the security check. He opened the package and dug out a small plastic card with a number stamped on it. "Well, you've got room number 166, so I guess I'll be the first to welcome you to our dorm here." He handed the keycard to her and put the package back on top of her luggage, "come on, I'll show you where your room is." He led her only a short distance, in the same direction that the unhelpful girl had headed, and then stopped outside a door with the same number as Alexandria's key.

"Here you go," he said, leaning against the wall next to the door, "this is your room, and if you're lucky your roommate will be agreeable, unlike mine." He smiled at her again and his eyes shimmered slightly, "if you want I could show you around the school a bit, help you get your bearings and all."

Michael
Eventually Michael decided that anyone who hadn't signed up yet wasn't likely to sign up at all and headed down to the hangar. When he entered he wasted no time in opening up the storage locker where the ballistic vests were kept.

"All right, everyone gather round," he said loudly, continuing once the students had complied, "once we hit the ground we'll be splitting up into smaller groups to cover more ground, Dominic will be leading one and I'll lead the other. We will be working alongside the local authorities and a few other groups, so more detailed instructions will have to wait until we get down there and see what needs to be done." He picked up one of the radios Dominic had been checking, "we'll be using radios with throat microphones for this mission, since there will likely be a lot of background noise. Simply fasten it around your throat like this and put the earphone in your ear," he demonstrated, "and press the two black buttons if you want to say anything. There is a pocket on each vest for the radio, make sure you put it in there and secure it properly. Any questions can wait until the trip down, everyone get geared up and take a seat in the shuttle."

He smiled at her again and his eyes shimmered slightly, "if you want I could show you around the school a bit, help you get your bearings and all."

"Yeah, they're clearly not doing their jobs." She retorted, in a somewhat frustrated tone, thinking somewhat rashly that she was more important that this mission. She watched him pick through the package she had gotten until he had gotten a key. "Well, you've got room number 166, so I guess I'll be the first to welcome you to our dorm here." he said. He handed Alex the keycard, and she took it and turned it over in her hand. She pricked up when he said he'd show her to her room. What a gentleman, she thought ironically. She followed him, carrying her heavy luggage behind Taro, until they reached her room.

She clicked the keycard into the slot, and opened the door. "Wait... I'm living with someone?!?" Her voice was panicky. She turned her head to Taro, praying to the big man above it wasn't that banshee she had encountered earlier. Regaining her compusure, she replied to the offer. "Yeah sure... That'd be nice, if you wouldn't mind." She accepted the offer, placed her stuff beside one of the beds, and looked forlorn. Living with another kid... "Who was that girl anyway? Do you know her?" She asked uneasily.
Where must we go, we who wander this wasteland, in search for our better selves?
In Egypt's sandy silence, all alone,
Stands a gigantic Leg, which far off throws
The only shadow that the Desert knows:—
"I am great OZYMANDIAS," saith the stone,
"The King of Kings; this mighty City shows
"The wonders of my hand." The City's gone,
Nought but the Leg remaining to disclose
The site of this forgotten Babylon.

We wonder, and some Hunter may express
Wonder like ours, when thro' the wilderness
Where London stood, holding the Wolf in chace,
He meets some fragment huge, and stops to guess
What powerful but unrecorded race
Once dwelt in that annihilated place.

Bramwell phrased as he started the walk to the bay. Somehow, he thought the day may just end well for him.

"Well I quite enjoy reading. My particular favorites are 'game of thrones' and 'doctor who'". She said. "I also like online games, and working or playing on any type of electronics". She said before retorting the question. "So what about you, what kind of things do you like to do"? She asked. Mina personally believed herself to be a boring person, but that is without discussing some of her more sick, and twisted hobbies.

Caitlin did as ordered. She wasn't even doing anything other then staring, anyway, so it didn't take much for her to start focusing like she was supposed to. And once he started to speak, she listened quietly. There wasn't anything she could really think of asking for questions anyway, and she started to get geared up. The concept of the throat microphones was interesting to her, though she wondered if it would be at all annoying feeling. She figured she'd figure out soon if so, since she was getting geared up.

After getting all ready and whatnot, she smiled brightly at, well, everyone near her, and headed into the shuttle. Once in there, she sat down somewhere at random, and fastened herself up, waiting patiently for them to start heading down, and to see if they ended up getting told anything else.

Sarah continued practicing after her short talk with Tyler, but once Michael had walked into the hangar bay, she stopped, letting the shadow knife dissolve and return to the shadows of the station, and then stood up, ready to comply with any orders that were given. Thus it was no surprise that she quickly moved over to stand closer to Michael and the rest of the students when the teacher instructed everyone to come closer.

After that, she simply listened to what instructions were given, understanding that instructions would have to wait until they were down on Earth again, and also noting the way the throat microphone radios were supposed to be put on and used. It seemed simple enough to her, and she didn't have any questions, so instead of losing any time, she went over and got geared up, before heading into the shuttle and taking a seat.

"I take great interest in the works of Douglas Adams, Isaac Asimov, Samuel Clemens, J. R. R. Tolkien, and Edgar Allen Poe in terms of writings, though I also do take interest in Douglas Adam's work on Doctor Who. Outside of their writings, I have to say that I do take interest in 'Fahrenheit 451' and 'To Kill a Mockingbird'. In terms of games, I have eccletic tastes that do include online games, however much death seems to enjoy my presence, or the lack of it. I am of eclectic tastes, so I do have interests in many different areas as a sort of 'cream of the crop'. Outside of culture, I do love science, including molecular gastronomy/cooking, history, and geography," Bramwell pontificated as he entered the space plane. No questions came to his head and the device held no complication to him. "We could play an online game together when we get back to the station. When you say 'online games', do you refer to browser games, multiplayer games, or massively multiplayer online games when you say that?" As he conversed, the space plane bashed Bramwell's head, which failed to interrupt his train of thought, which only created minor annoyance to Bramwell as he talked and took a seat.

Declan listened mildly attentively to the instructions, which had something to do with a throat microphone and a vest. He geared up, grabbing everything he needed, and calmly made himself comfortable in the shuttle. The trip to earth could be a bit bothersome. He wondered what the groups would be. He shrugged indifferently. He didn't really care as long as they were good in a fight and had a decent sense of humor. Declan considered taking a nap, but he thought someone might add directions later, and he shouldn't be sleeping on the job.

Thomas sure wasn't having fun aboard the shutte. It was a true information overload for the curious techno sensitive teen. He could feel every function of the craft as it rocketed into space: the fuel being pumped into the constant stream of flame behind him, the amount of radio signals coming from the school and the ship were almost all passing within his range of detection, and he could feel the pumping of the oxygen recycler like a beating of a giant heart. It sure didn't help that he was wearing over 300 pounds of armor with motors clicking, a reactor humming, and his own life support system rumbling to keep him in his suit. The armor would give him the strength needed to haul all of his gear to his dorm room in one or two loads Should've done it by the book, it's always better by the book.

As his steel-clad boots clanked against the metal floor, Thomas couldn't help but think of what he was leaving behind. The family house would soon be occupied by his 24-year old brother, his brother's wife, and his soon to be niece. Hope they don't find what's in the attic, he thought, remembering all the things in his workshop that he couldn't bring with him. He wished he could've had a normal life like his brother, and not be "blessed" with the ability that changed his life. There were no friends he was leaving behind either, because all those who hadn't left his side when he gained his power, did when they learned of his alter ego. Who came up with the title "Man of Metal" anyway? Thomas thought as a new smartphone hovered above his lap, disassembled into hundreds of peices, then put back together again.

Thomas's actions have saved dozens, maybe even hundreds of people's lives or livelihoods. Whether it was the local drug cartel being raided, or stopping a high-speed chase with his mind, or even just setting those on a path of crime onto a path of good. There were some things he wasn't proud of though, like when he'd killed an unarmed criminal who tried getting in a fist fight with a quarter-ton hunk of metal, or burning all that money those robbers stole accidentally. Thomas hated going around the law, but the law would not accommodate a 17-year-old with experimental armor and superpowers, so he took upholding the law into his own hands. His personal code had one rule at the top of the list Uphold the law, no other priority above the law., he may have used to hold family above that, but seeing as they are either dead or far away, they are no longer of significant meaning for his mission.

Now, he was on his way to his new life at a high school in space, and he was loving every second of it. Finally, a chance to show my stuff, to prove my worth as a hero of my own way, and a chance to find out what I'm going to do with myself. Suddenly, all the technology around him wasn't so irritating, it was almost comforting to feel all the sensations as the ship docked.

He walked out from the hangar, in full armor and a massive pack on his back, metal boots clanging against the floor, waiting for someone to help him get himself situated.
