I apologize for the lateness, but a PoA post has been made. I will be working on a response to my airship thread over the weekend.

That's cool...

(actually, Imperium means absolute power according to my dictionary)

It can be used in terms of the territorial power of an individual or group given imperium, though.

That is to be expected, what with the Latin word meaning both "Authority" and "Empire", but cooler? I dunno.

Hey Tag, in the Roman Republic and later Empire, do you know how did full Roman citizens proved their citizenship to both Roman authorities and other citizens? Was there a specific symbol, item or writ given to citizens by the Roman state as a means of proving their citizen status?

I think there were plaques made to commemorate large-scale grants of citizenship and after the Edict of Caracalla, every free man in the empire was a citizen.

But before then, it was just people in Italia and before that Rome itself. So they were fairly close-knit, so you might not have been able to get away with bullshitting. Especially if you were a barbarian, you might just plain not been able to pass yourself off as a Roman.

This has intrigued me, especially since I can't find an answer off the bat.

I do apologize the long wait between my tactical posts in PoA. I shall endeavor to have something up and posted this week detailing both bridge defense and so on, as well as naval and the consequences of rushing headlong into the League's joint forces therein.

No worries, Haruk. I still need to post about the naval aspect of the conflict, and Tag has a post forthcoming concerning the land warfare and bridge stuff as well.

Three things are necessary in building a successful delegation. You need a comical character, a grotesquely evil one, and one that couldn't care less about being one or the other.

Eh, not necessarily.

You need a character who's paranoid and suspicious of everything going on around him, that everyone's trying to undermine him and him personally.

I don't know, that might require actual interaction with other characters

We have returned. Whatever meaningless existence you had mere moments ago, is now bettered for our arrival. You are welcome.

It's not that we do not love you as a people, we love how your people taste, how they bleed. It's just that you are not our equals and never will be.

That would require me to be better at balancing multiple characters at once.

Usually my delegations just have a main person and then some background characters.

I'm going to take a short leave of absence from roleplaying for a little bit to clear my head and get a fresh perspective. Certain things have bummed me out to the point where I'm liable to blow my top and start running around like my hair was on fire. I simply have no patience for the unfortunate side of this community, and need to take a break before I feel like pulling my hair out. I'll poke my head around in the thread pretty regularly in the interim.
