Sien and Garret have often been at odds since the former defeated the latter in the monarchical election following King Parrish’s surprising abdication, but Garret has supported Sien on several major issues which have confronted the nation during Sien’s administration. It appears likely to this newspaper that Sien and Garret are willing to pay any reasonable price to secure the return of their incarcerated citizens, and we can only hope they make the right decisions during these delicate proceedings.
Chief among those held is popular West Angolan TV personality John Usiak, who until his arrest was the lead on-pitch correspondent for the West Angolan Sporting Network, which is now under siege from the upstart Enormously overblown Super Palatial Network (ESPN), which debuted with coverage of the West Angolan U-21 Championship featuring former national team stars Michael Larssen and James McDaniels, as well as on-pitch correspondent Jacob Kerys, the former keeper for that team. A WASN executive released a statement earlier today: The West Angolan Sporting Network hopes that all the prisoners-- including Mr. Usiak—can be returned as swiftly as possible so that Mr. Usiak can return to his old position and our network can reclaim its rightful ratings.
The West Angolan Sporting Ministry also announced that it will not renew WASN’s exclusivity contract to broadcast World Cup qualifying, instead allowing it and ESPN to compete for the right during World Cup 63, and has indicated that it will award exclusivity rights to the more successful network. With all that on the line, it’s no wonder WASN is desperate for its top personality to return as quickly after the start of qualifying as possible.
