High Heels National Football Team
The Foxes

How do you mix chastened and ebullient? Play football for High Heels.

The legend will doubtless persist of the tower full of hot girls that won the under-21 World Cup. A third-place run in their Baptism of Fire set the squad up for a reality check that duly came. The Foxes finished just under the one-point-per-match level in qualifying. While they showed enough to the selectors to receive a Cup of Harmony invitation, three draws from four matches there confirmed their current mediocrity on the world stage.

But they're still the most upbeat bunch you'll ever want to meet. Years of practical charm school in world football have refined a bunch of appealing teens into an impressive array of confident, sparkling women. It's rubbed off on the squad's token man, Shahzad Cone, added for the Cup of Harmony as a pregnancy replacement but now solidly integrated into the squad.

After the Foxes' modest WCC debuts, many were calling for a mixed team to be considered. But IdrottsLiga av Högklackat, the national governing authority, are still sensitive to the draw of both champions and young women. As long as sponsors' stilettos continue to line ILH coffers, don't expect a change. Some even view the new kit designs from Audioslavian firm Kirola as confirming this direction; the strips "convey a sense of tradition, playfulness, and femininity" according to novelist Astasia Spool.

The stars of the squad are still the four women who play professionally in The Babbage Islands. Keeper Kaisa Cuban is the most gifted of the four, and it's no secret that she is beginning to eye even bigger opportunities than Sporting Boulder has given her. Striker Melody Mule is the Foxes' long-time captain and the first Högklackat native to sign overseas. Her counterpart striker Nicolene Wedge and playmaker Meline Stiletto round out a deadly forward triangle. Rapidly-rising players include winger Caroline Cowboy and 18-year-old debutante defender Embla Platform.

The Foxes play a 3-5-2 formation with plenty of style (+4).

RP: Play on, as long as none of my players gets seriously hurt without asking me first.

(NB: All players on the squad not already shown as playing overseas will consider transfer offers to clubs around the world. ILH and the 49th floor bureaucrats have decided that they like the boost to the economy. Also, as indicated in main text Kaisa Cuban is looking for the right offer as well.)

Kits (Home-red/white; Away-"strawberry shortcake")

Keepers normally wear the away kit at home and the home kit away, or a plain black strip with a white numeral if the keeper kit would otherwise clash.

About High Heels

The Fifty-Story Arcology (once called the Most Serene Republic) of High Heels is indeed an arcology, a single massive 50-story tower that provides a nearly self-contained living environment for around 57,000. Legally the tower that is High Heels is recognized in Paripana as the city of Högklackat, and IdrottsLiga av Högklackat is an associate member of the Paripana Sporting Council.

The ground floor, or Interface Zone, is where citizens of High Heels interact with the outside world. Above that are 16 zones of three oversized stories each, containing a mixture of residential, clean industrial, commercial, and agricultural (typically hydroponic) uses. The 49th floor, officially the Governance Zone but colloquially simply the 49th Floor, hosts the Hall of the People and most government offices.

Image

Each citizen is assigned to one of the 16 standard zones at birth or naturalization and takes the surname of that zone. All citizens of a zone bear different registered given names. This could be as trivial as an alternate spelling, and the recent registration of double given names helps. Use-names and nicknames are not uncommon. Because there are so few zone names, it is normal to use given names even in formal situations. There might be many Miss Cubans around, but quite likely to be only one Kaisa.

High Heels Stadium is located on the 13th floor in the Slingback Zone. Its capacity is only about 2,500, but matches are popular televised fare. Sixteen teams play (semi-)professional association football there.
Champions of the 23rd Di Bradini Cup!
Second: Di Bradini Cup 22. Third: Baptism of Fire 49.
Quarterfinalists: Cup of Harmony 55.

Bears Armed

‘The Bear-Belles’

National football organisation: ‘Bears Armed Association for Soccer’ (= ‘BAAS’).
(Chairbear: Arrannah Graye [Chairbear of River City S.C.])
National anthem (for sports): ‘The Banner Green And Gold’.
Official supporters' organisation: 'Arri's Furry Army'.

Yes, it still is an all-female team. As I’ve explained before, this is because the main ball-game that's traditionally been played in Bears Armed is actually a form of Rugby, but [for several reasons] the professional league for that sport is all-male and so some of the female players decided that switching to Soccer — and trying to establish a professional league for that sport for themselves instead — might be a viable alternative: They were right, because that professional league was founded shortly after WC44 and so has now been in operation for over an eightSquared of years.

All of the players are actual Ursines (i.e. anthropomorpic, bipedal Bears)], except for any whom I actually specify as being members of other ‘peoples’ instead. The Harr'aynau people are physically human (more-or-less, anyway, although inclined towards heavy builds & hairiness), but are spiritually & culturally Ursine instead.

According to Bears Armed’s timeline, the qualifiers for WC63 take place in 2085-’2086
AD, and the Cup proper in 2087AD: All figures given here for people’s ages and lengths of experience are the values applying in the first of those three years.

Manager & Chief Coach: Urra ‘Honey’ SunBlesséd _ A female Ursine from the Sun Clan, she has 80(!) years of experience in football and played for the Bear-Belles from BoF#31 right through into WC#57. She is now 97 years old but, although not amongst those people from the team’s former staff who were “rejuvenated” in 2042
AD, still seems quite ‘young’ both physically and mentally. She is right-pawed, with ‘honey-brown’ fur, and has very good eyesight even by human (rather than Ursine) standards. She is a very accurate kicker, and was therefore one of the usual first choices for taking free kicks & penalties. Her nickname comes from her fur-colour, and her very sweet nature: Originally it was also because (as we must admit…) she was rather “thick”, but then she ‘grew-up’ mentally during WWC12 & the qualifiers for WC50 so that now she has a verrry good mind indeed… She acted as manager for the [“unified”] U21 teams that Bears Armed entered in DBC13 (=> runners-up) and DBC14 (=> quarter-finals), whilst WC58 (with its qualifiers) was her first competition in charge of the country’s senior team.

Deputy Manager-&-Coach: Darrarlha o GoodSword
(female Ursine, from the Sun Clan; played with the Belles from DBC21 & WC59 through to the final of WC62, primarily as a Lynchpin although she was also capable of substituting into other Defence or Midfield positions, and was their Captain for the latter part of that career; her home team was the Sun Valley Smashers, with whom she filled a similar role and where she was also captain for a while; playing experience = 20 years; age = 36 years, managerial experience = 1 year; ambidextrous, fur = blonde; a superlative player, and a good tactician. She wore with pride the same number “26” that her aunt Urrthra o GoodSword — who died heroically in the fighting against the ‘Dead Bears Walking’ — bore through several Cups, which has now been retired in honour of Urrthra’s memory.)

Deputy Manager (Admin): Amarra Marra o Harruor
(female Ursine, from Clan Harruor Erruur; formerly a staff member at BAAS, appointed to this job just before DBC21; age = 44, fur = medium-brown).

Assistant Deputy Manager (Admin): Harreethe Sareeen
(female Ursine, from Clan GreyBear; formerly a staff member at BAAS, appointed to this job in preparation for the ‘qualifiers’ stage of WC63; her duties include acting as the team’s ‘routemaster’, which means handling all of their travelling arrangements; age = 27, fur = light brown).

Defensive Coach: Jhargeena o Wirrene
(female Ursine; Clan = Herrchaum, age = 50, right-pawed, fur = very light brown with some reddish hints; languages spoken = Verrene, Ursine ['HeartWoods' dialect], and English; religion = 'Wookha' ; she sometimes seems to have a sort of "sixth sense" about what's going to happen on the pitch during the next few moments; off of the pitch, she favours loose skirts and draped scarves in bright (& often contrasting) colours, with more jewellery than is typical for Ursines (i.e. her people's equivalent of a 'Gypsy chic' look…) in emulation of her [rather distant] relative Arna-Maggra; The only new addition to the team for WC56, she had actually been short-listed for DBC17 but had had to stay at home instead back then due to a family emergency; she played for Mighty Herrchaum as a Defender, and became a member of the Bear-Belles [usual position = Left Back] until & including the ‘Golden Honeycomb’ friendly before the qualifiers for WC60 began: playing experience = 23 years; appointed to this job for the WC60 qualifiers & onwards).

Attacking Coach: Harrashia o Redwood
(female Ursine; Clan = Redwood; age = 42 years, ambidextrous, fur = medium-brown with hints of russet; she is a great-great-niece of Harroya “of the Rovers” o Redwood, former captain of the Bear-Belles, but gained a place in the team on merit. (She made her international debut as a substitute in DBC 19, joining the Belles for WC57 initially as a forward; she ended her national playing career in WC62, as a ‘Utility Outfielder’ Forward /Winger/Midfielder substitute) and filled similar roles at Merlchester Rovers through most of her 27 years’ playing experience as well; appointed to this job in preparation for the ‘qualifiers’ stage of WC63.)

Doctor: Rebearrch’hra o RedRose
(female Ursine, from the RedRose ‘Free Sept’; age = 49, left-pawed, fur = medium brown with reddish highlights; hired just before DBC21.)

Physiotherapist: Behrthye NorthWalker
(female Harr’aynau [humanoid], from Clan WildWoods; age = 45, right-handed, hair = ginger; hired just before DBC21.)

Chaplain, ‘One Plus Seven’: Urrsulha Nightfall
(female Ursine from the Silver-of-Night; age = mid-40s, left-pawed, fur = silvery; assigned to this job, by the Great Medicine Society, just before the qualifiers for WC57.)

Chaplain, Ursion: Ursiosopher Dorr-Surra
(male Ursine, from Clan Redwood; age = 35; left-pawed, fur = medium-brown with traces of chestnut; formerly a deputy chaplain at Bullford University, transferred to this post in preparation for the ‘qualifiers’ stage of WC63 after his predecessor here was appointed to a senior administrative job at the main temple in New Sarrum instead; he has a doctorate in Anthropology, and is a skilled organist who is really more interested in [Baroque] music than he is in sports.)

Security Chief: Commander Halgrimm Harrlh’s-son
(male Ursine, from Clan Thulean; age =32, left-pawed, fur = light brown; seconded from the Confederal Navy, and has considerable experience of dealing with foreigners; appointed to this job in preparation for the ‘qualifiers’ stage of WC63.)

Caterers: Famhwuie Girronty.

‘Mascot’: ‘The Wise Grorrfinn’
(male ‘TrueBear’; age = undisclosed [but considering some of his appearances in old stories apparently somewhere over 1’500, at least...], ambidextrous, fur = medium-brown) (During WC54 it was revealed that he is the maternal grandfather of Urra ‘Honey’ SunBlesséd, which presumably explains her youthful longevity.)

Roster

(With a significant number of vacancies to fill in the line-up, we will be giving a somewhat larger than usual number of players a chance to prove themselves during this Cup’s qualifying stages: The higher our opponents' current ranking, the more 'First team' players are likely to be fielded against them. 'A squad of twenty-two players will then be selected from amongst these candidates for employment in the World Cup itself, if we do qualify for that, or in the Cup of Harmony otherwise.)

(#1) Marranna NorthStar _ Clan = NorthStar [‘Free Sept’]; home team = NorthPort Navigators, category & usual position = Goalkeeper, experience = 18 years; age = 31 years, right-pawed, fur = very light brown, she has very quick reflexes and keen senses. (She made her international debut in DBC21.)

(#5) Sa’marra o Barrdenn _ Clan = GreenWoods; home team = Barrden Barbariennes, category & usual position = Goalkeeper, experience = 16 years; age = 31 years, left-pawed, fur = dark-medium brown & quite long, she is not only rather tall (7’2”) but has a deceptively long reach even in proportion to that height. (She made her international debut in the qualifiers for WC60.)

(#32) Affra o SouthWoods _ Clan = WestWoods; Home team = WestPort City, category & usual position = Goalkeeper, experience = 8 years; age = 25 years, left-pawed, fur = medium-brown. (This is her international debut.)

(#2) Lueth’hree Redwood _ Clan = Redwood; home team = River City, category = Defender, usual position = Left Back, experience = 23 years; age = 33 years, left-pawed, fur = medium-brown. (She made her international debut in DBC21, and also played in Brevity Cup 2, both of which the Bears won, before the qualifiers for WC60....)

(#3) Affehhindh’hrra Savernake _ Clan = Errhabarra; Home team = Harr Burran Heroines, category = Defender or Midfielder, usual position = Right Back or Right Half, experience = 10 years; age = 26 years, right-pawed, fur = light-medium brown. (#17) Urranna o Barrdenn _ Clan = GreenWoods; Home team = River City, category = Defender, usual position = Left Back, experience = 9 years; age = 24 years, left-pawed, fur = dark-medium brown & quite long. [i](She made her international debut in ‘Brevity Cup III’, the year before WC62’s qualifiers began.)

(#20) Urrsa Barroth _ Clan = SeaBear; Home team = Kerne Konquerors, category = Defender (or Midfielder), usual position = Right Back (or Right Half), experience = 5 years; age = 19 years, right-pawed, fur = light brown & quite long. (This is her international debut.)

(#33) Helga Hilga’s-darthhr _ Clan = Thuleann; Home team = NorthPort Raiders, category = Defender (or Midfielder), usual position = Left Back (or Left Half), experience = 5 years; age = 19 years, left-pawed, fur = cream; a terror on the pitch, but a real softy when off of it. (This is her international debut.)

(#4) Irdh’hrra o Errurr _ Clan = Errurr Erruur; Home team = PassPort Athletic, category = Lynchpin or Midfielder, usual position = Lynchpin, experience = 19 years; age = 34 years, left-pawed, fur = medium-brown, “average” looking but surprisingly fast. (She made her international debut in WC60.)

(#14) Urrsa BigBear _ Clan = GreenWoods; Home team = Barrden Barbariennes, category & usual position = Lynchpin, experience = 10 years; age = 24 years, left-pawed, fur = dark-medium brown & quite long, 7’6” tall & proportionately broad but fast on her feet anyway. (She made her international debut in WC60.)

(#33) Arranna Sa’Martan _ Clan = WestWoods; Home team = WestPort United, category & usual position = Lynchpin (but also versatile as Midfielder), experience = 7 years; age = 22 years, right-pawed, fur = dark brown’; she is a cousin of #23. (This is her international debut.)

(#6) Errond’hrra Thunder-Child _ Clan = Gunnar; Home team = PassPort Athletic, category = Midfielder or Winger, usual position = Right Half or Right Winger, experience = 10 years; age = 24 years, right-pawed, fur = dark brown. (She made her international debut in ‘Brevity Cup III’, the year before WC62’s qualifiers began.)

(#7) Alfreda Beorninga _ Clan = Beorning; Home team = Merlchester Rovers, category = Midfielder, usual position = Midfield Left, experience = 9 years (with 6 of those, ending just a season before she joined the Belles, across the border at Flowerwood Rangers in the Human-dominated nation of Mikitivity…); age = 26 years, left-pawed, fur = dark-medium brown & quite short; she’s relatively small for an Ursine (only 6’5” tall) but don’t underestimate her if you’re wise… (This is her international debut.)

(#21) Fhar’graunie of the Hrrowans _ Clan = Maugh’hrurr; Home team = WestPort United, category = Midfielder (or Defender), preferred position = Midfield Left (or Left Back), experience = 6 years; age = 20, left-pawed, fur = medium-brown ‘grizzly’ & decidedly long, height = 6’11” but deceptively fast. (This is her international debut.)

(#23) Roberrth’ha Sa’Martan _ Clan = WestWoods; Home team = WestPort United = Midfielder, usual position = Midfield Right, experience = 6 years; age = 21, right-pawed, fur = light brown; she is a cousin of #33. (This is her international debut.)

(#34) Morrranna Lakesider _ Harr’aynau _ Clan = WestFarer [Free Sept]; Home team = Mighty Marchers, category = Winger, usual position = Left Winger, experience = 6 years; age = 24 years, left-footed, hair = chestnut, good eyesight even by human standards; very good at taking ‘set pieces’, and at setting-up opportunities for her colleagues to score from. (This is her international debut.)

(#11) Thyrra Darma’s-darthhrr _ Clan = Thulean; Home team = Ursinborkh Angels, category = Forward, usual position = Centre Forward (but has also done well as a Right Forward), experience = 20 years; age = 33, right-pawed, fur = white [‘polar’], big — her height is 7’5”, and she’s built to match — but fast & agile anyway. (She made her international debut as a reserve, who did get some playing time, in the team that won DBC21.)

(#12) Amarra Sunwatcher _ Clan = Sun; Home team = Sun Valley Smashers, category = Forward, usual position = Right Forward (‘Inside Right’), experience = 26 years; age = 37 years, right-pawed, fur = “oatmeal” colour, eyesight good even by human standards, still quite fast on her feet despite her age, very accurate in ‘set pieces’ for which she is therefore one of the favoured takers. (She made her international debut in DBC20.)

[#13] Syrrae o Wirrenne _Clan = Herrchaum; Home team = Merlchester Rovers, category = Forward, usual position = Left Forward (Inside Left) but also good as Centre Forward, experience = 22 years; age = 36, left-pawed, fur = ‘platinum-blonde’; seems to have an [almost?] psychic instinct about where the ball and other players will be next. (She made her international debut in Brevity Cup 1.)

(#24) Sarrathrie Sevens _ Clan = Clouded Sun [Free Sept]; Home team = River City, category = Forward, usual position = Centre forward (but versatile), experience = 13 years; age = 29, ambidextrous, fur = cream; is a incredibly accurate shot, partly because she has very good sight even by human standards, is very accurate agile too. (She actually made her international debut as a member of the Bears’ team for DBC22, although the roster for that squad has never been made widely known, but the qualifiers for WC61 were her first time playing for her country again since then: She’s been verry thoroughly vetted, and seems to have been innocent of any involvement in whatever conspiracy it was that over-rode own BAAS’s plans for that earlier tournament.)

(#25) Sorrkhie Torr’hay_ Tiggrahth'hrra (i.e. anthropomorphic Tiger); Clan = Tiggrahth'hrra; Home team = Heroes’ Park Heroines, category = Forward, usual position = Centre Forward, experience = 10 years; age = 24 years, ambidextrous, fur = orange & black stripes. (She made her international debut in ‘Brevity Cup III’, the year before WC62’s qualifiers began.)

(#27) Krissie Fairbearrn _ Clan = Sun; Home team = Kingly City, category = Forward/Winger, usual position = Right Forward or Right Winger, experience = 8 years; age = 22 years, right-pawed, fur = golden-brown, verry good eyesight. (She made her international debut in ‘Brevity Cup III’, the year before WC62’s qualifiers began.)

(#30) Hlunna Sarravstro _ Harr’aynau _ Clan = Ostbora; Home team = Krasny Kremmer, category = Forward/Winger, usual position = Left Forward or Left Winger, experience = 7 years; age = 23 years, left-footed, hair = ginger, strong and sturdy even by her own people’s standards (rather than by Human ones) — which is how she’s able to compete successfully with Ursines as a striker — but fast on her feet as well. (This is her international debut.)

(#35) Emma o RedSun _ Clan = Red Sun [Free Sept]; Home team = Sun Valley Sunbeams [‘Junior League’, category = Forward, usual position = Centre Forward or Left Forward, experience = 4 years; age = 19 years, left-pawed, fur = russet; an instinctively skilled (as well as trained) tactician. (This is her international debut.)

(#36) Marra ‘Borrae’ Norr-Vurra _ Clan = Redwood; Home team = Mighty Redwoods, category = Forward, usual position = Centre Forward or Right Forward, experience = 6 years; age = 23, left-pawed, fur = dark-medium brown, height = 7’4”. (This is her international debut.)

(#15) Varrna o Kerr-Surra _ Clan = WestWoods; Home team = Wiston United, category = Winger or Midfielder, usual position = Right Winger or Right Half, experience = 8 years; age = 25 years, left-pawed, fur = cream; Lowfurran Christian. (She made her international debut in ‘Brevity Cup III’, the year before WC62’s qualifiers began.)

(#16) Harrietta Karra o Hara _ Invisible Wabbit; Clan = BerryGlades (by adoption); home team = WideWindle Wanderers, category = Winger or Midfielder, usual position = Right Winger (' Outside Right') but has proven that she can play well on the left as well, experience = 21+ years; age = ???, ambidextrous, fur = light grey; she is INVISIBLE to most "mundane" people, but those should still be able to see the kit that she's wearing; less likely to resort to "ridiculous" trickery than might be the case in an all-Wabbit team, but still quite likely to do things like using her long ears to hold the ball in place on top of her head or running along on her hands whilst juggling the ball with her feet, both of which would of course make tackling her [within the rules] rather difficult. (WC59 was her international debut.)

(#30) Karralha Levin _ Clan = Gunnar; home team = Newton Arsenal, category = Winger (or [Attacking] Midfielder, or Forward), usual position = Left Winger (or Midfield Left, or Left Forward), experience = 6 years; age = 22, left-footed, fur= light brown, very nimble. (This is her international debut.)

(#31) Urrth’hra FarDales _ Clan = WestWoods; Home team = Wiston Wanderers, category = Winger, usual position = Right Winger, experience = 8 years; age = 24 years, left-pawed, fur = dark-medium brown; Wookhan. (This is her international debut.)

(#37) Erth’hrra Chirr-Sarra _ Clan = GreenWoods; Home team = Harr-Surra Hotshots, category = Winger, usual position = Left Winger, experience = 5 years; age = 19 years, left-pawed, fur = black, only 6’7” tall. (This is her international debut.) (This is her international debut.)

‘First team’ = #1 or #5 (alternating, more or less), 2-3, 4 or 14 (alternating, more or less), 6-7, 11-13, 15-16.

Style: Offensive, modifier = +4.0… ("A good offence is the best defence"...)
Their usual formation will include a front row of at least 5 (normally arranged as 3 strikers & 2 wingers), with 2 midfielders, 2 backs, and either a ‘Defensive Centre’ (whose starting position would be at the midpoint of an imaginary cross drawn between those other four non-forwards’ positions) or a third midfielder depending on the Manager’s decision before each match.

Opponents may _

RP injuries to my players / Godmod injuries to my players / Hand out Yellow cards to my players / Hand out Red cards to my players: Y to all, at least to start with, but remember what I've written here and keep it in limits accordingly... Any serious offences by my players would probably result in injuries to your players, and causing any serious injuries to my players would probably require such obviously-deliberate attacks that your players would get yellow or even red cards as a result too. Don’t kill anybody, or inflict injuries that would be serious enough to end careers, without checking with me & getting my approval (which is unlikely to be granted…) first.
Godmod Other Events: Y, I suppose, at least as long as you do so in an AMUSING way... but please remember that Ursines are fully sapient beings, as much as Humans are, not instinct-driven animals. Oh, and of course female Ursines are not sexually interested in Humans (of either sex), and it's very unlikely that female Harr'ayanau would be either. Please don't have them run amok or outright revert to animality, without checking by TG first, don't make assumptions about their views on politics or religion, and don't do anything that would make more than one of them incapable of playing in their next game...

Kit: This incarnation of the team will normally wear the usual set of designs (from ‘ediraf’) that the Belles have favoured in the past, with the ‘Association’ badges correctly staying ‘BAAS’ rather than [the now obsolete] ‘BAMAS’. See "here" for details. However, unlike the incarnations of this team that you’ve actually seen playing before, they have a set of five stars—one for each World Cup triumph (in their own timeline, and all after WC62…) that the Belles had “already” achieved before the match from which they were brought here.
Bears Armed has traditionally used base-8 arithmetic, for several reasons, and this has affected the set of numbers used for this team’s players: The numbers “10”, “22”, and “26” have been left unassigned out of respect for wearers who went to their deaths as heroines during various conflicts.

Home grounds

1/. Wimbley Stadium:[/b] Located a few miles to the north-north-west of Council Groves (our capital city), to which it is connected by rail as well as by road, this stadium was built from scratch — on part of a former Confederal Army base’s site — shortly before the qualifiers for WC52 began as a replacement for the Bear-Belles original “home” at ‘Plumtrees Park’ which has now been demolished. Its current capacity is approximately 60'000 for Ursines: Fitting about 40’000 humans into the visiting fans' half should be possible, and so that's as many as we'll let into the country. Accommodation for visiting teams & their staffs will be provided in a new hotel, less than a mile away, which has staff who are accustomed to dealing with Humans as well as with Ursines. The various other hotels in that complex and those at Council Groves can now provide about 12’000 rooms at a time, at varying prices, although of course some of those may already have been booked by people who have nothing to do with the Cup. Accommodation (at a fairly basic level) for up to 15’000 supporters will be available, at reasonable prices, in students' residences for the National University’s campus in that city: if any more than all of those facilities put together can house want to attend a match then they’ll have to borrow space in the area’s remaining Army camp instead...
There are still no direct inter-regional flights into Council Groves, so that visitors will have to travel by way of one of our neighbours and then continue onwards by one of the limited number of "local" air-flights or by rail. (People planning to arrive by rail will still have to travel via the nation of Mikitivity, but extra trains will be organised on that route for this purpose... and there is now a Railplane service available there, too.)
This site will be used for most, but not all, of the Belles' matches. (list to be added)

2./ ‘NorthLands National Stadium’: Located at NorthPort, the most cosmopolitan city in The Ursine Northlands, this facility was originally built for use by the 'Northbears' WC49’s qualifiers. Unfortunately the place has since seen rather less use than was originally hoped, but it is still in good condition and will hold about 43’000 Ursines or over 60’000 humans (or, of course, proportionate numbers of a mixture of those two species) because it was deliberately built to be rather larger than 'Plumtrees Park' which was then the Mainland's 'national' stadium…
This site will be used for some of the Belles’ home games (list to be added), and also for some of their friendlies & matches in other Cups during this period as specified separately.
Foreigners coming to this stadium may either travel to the ‘Mainland’ and then continue hence via a set of ancient [& probably magical] ‘Gates’ that link the country’s two sections (with a Railplane service available betweenCouncil Groves and those gates' location) — completing their journey by either rail or riverboat after that — or take ship directly to NorthPort.

NOTES

Ursines may tend to be a bit less agile & slower to accelerate than humans on average, but this team's members were carefully selected so the gap between them & their opponents in this respect should be narrower than some people might expect. They do tend to have [slightly] poorer eyesight than humans, on the whole (although the members of both Clan Gunnar and the Sun Clan are generally an exception to this rule, and the eyesight of the latter group is actually often at [slightly] better-than-human levels instead), so long-distance passes & shots at goal will tend to be rarer behaviour for them than they are for human teams... but their typical size & strength mean that when they're running with the ball it will probably take a very brave human — as well as a very skilled one — to tackle them successfully (or, at least, one who has reasonable experience of playing against Ursines…), which should balance that factor pretty well. They don’t jump very well, but then they’re generally rather taller than most Human players to start with so they shouldn’t need to jump as often in order to intercept [relatively] high shots...
Ursines are physically robust, of course, which means that they're much less likely than humans are to suffer injuries in falls or collisions. The females of this species are more even-tempered than the males, and the team's members will try to stay on their best behaviour not only in order to do well in this contest but also to impress upon the watching humans that Ursines aren't just "dumb beasts". They will not 'dive', or feign injury in other ways, because suggesting that they could be harmed so easily goes strongly against the grain. ‘Northlanders’ are maybe not quite as "civilised" as the 'Mainlanders'… or, at any rate, that’s the traditional stereotype..
Cold weather should pose no problem to them, even if there's snow or ice on the pitch, but tropical heat might prove awkward...

Unless our hosts at the match in question object, this team's members (including the designated substitutes for the match in question) will perform a [fairly short] ritual that's called the 'harrdiharr' on the pitch just before play begins... This is a traditional war-dance, meant to over-awe opponents, that has come to be a customary prelude for team games as well (similar to the [RL] New Zealanders' 'haka'...). : )
As has now been seen during various tournaments, some of our fans like to take drums — and possibly also 'Urrs-horns' [which are similar to Alpenhorns, cow-horns, or other "musical instruments", too — along to the matches…

The team is accompanied by a number of sapient Ravens, who are there both to gather information about the rival sides and to provide air cover in case of hostile waterfowl.

Armed Bears
(alias ‘The Bear-Belles’...)

For the information of those amongst you who are fairly new to NS Sports: Yes, this is a team — and nation — consisting primarily of anthropomorphic Bears.
For the information of those amongst you who have already been around NS Sports for a while: Yes, this nation does have the same player as Bears Armed… but IC, instead of this nation being a ‘puppet’ of that other country, they are actually ‘alternative reality’ counterparts of each other and didn’t even know of each other’s existence before this tournament.
The current year in Armed Bears converts into the Gregorian calendar as 2033
AD, even though for footballers from Bears Armed (whose own international debut, BoF31, was in 2008AD…), it is now 2085AD or thereabouts instead!

This is another all-female team, for the same reason that Bears Armed’s team falls into that category: The main ball-game that's traditionally been played in their homeland so far is actually a form of Rugby, but [for several reasons] the professional league for that sport is all-male and so a few years ago (in 2006
AD, actually) some of the female players decided that switching to Soccer instead -- and trying to establish a professional league for that -- might be a viable alternative.

The ages & lengths of experience given here are accurate for the first half of the qualifiers, but you'll need to add 1 year for them during second half of qualifiers and another 1 year for them during either World Cup (if they get there) or Cup of Harmony if you want the correct values then.

Almost all of the players are actual Ursines (i.e. anthropomorpic, bipedal Bears), except in any cases where I actually specify otherwise. The Harr'aynau people are physically human (more-or-less, although inclined towards heavy builds & hairyness) but spiritually & culturally Ursine instead.

Manager: Harrya o Herrchaum
(Ursine female from Clan Herrchaum; transferred to management/coaching team two years ago, after the team failed to qualify for WC60 & didn't receive its Cup of Harmony invitation in time to reply successfully; before then was a player, in this team and for the ''Mighty Redwoods'; category = Striker, preferred position = Right Forward, Soccer experience = 20 years as player & 10 as coach; promoted to manager as well before the qualifiers for WC62; age = 52, left-pawed, fur = light brown.)

Chief Coach: Ug-Ug.
(Yes, hrreally that Ug-Ug, from The Holy Empire, he who “knows not how to lose“… What more needs to be said?)

Goalkeeping Coach: Urrth’hra o Porrwath
(female Ursine; Clan = Eastern League; she played as a goalkeeper for the Belles WC58-62, ending as their usual ‘starter’ in that role, whilst her home team was Mirron Marvels, category & usual position = Goalkeeper; she had 24 years of playing experience before retiring from the field to take up this coaching position in the run-up to WC63’s ‘qualifiers’ stage; age = 41, left-pawed, fur = medium-brown.)

Defending Coach: Harroya 'Silver' Gray
(female Ursine; Clan = Eastern Hills [Ally]; she played as a Defender or Midfielder for the Belles WC58-62, usually as a member of their ‘starting’ line-up and sometimes even as Lynchpin & acting Captain; her home team was ‘Dynamo OstPort’, for home she performed similar duties, and she had years of playing experience before retiring from the field to take up this coaching position in the run-up to WC63’s ‘qualifiers’ stage; age = 41, left-pawed, fur = light greyish-brown.)

Attacking Coach: Harroya ‘of the Rovers’ o Redwood
(female Ursine; Clan = Redwood; she played for the belles (primarily as Right Forward, and usually as a starter) in WC58-62, and for her home team of Merlchester Rovers from a few years before that, until retiring from the field to take up this coaching position in the run-up to WC63’s ‘qualifiers’ stage, with 27 years of playing experience; age = 42, left-pawed, fur = light brown; she would NOT break the rules (not even at the 'yellow card' level; never even carded once, in either national or international play) but managed to be a very successful “attacking” player without being an overly “aggressive” one... and was noted as being very good at setting up opportunities for her team-mates, but only seeming to score herself when the team really NEEDED that goal.

Roster

(#1) Bella DeBruin _ Clan = WestWoods, home team = 'Arrlesian Aces’, category & usual position = Goalkeeper, Soccer experience = 17 years; age = 31, left-pawed, fur = dark brown. (She made her international debut in WC62.)

(#14) Marra o Redwood _ Clan = Royal Redwood, home team = ‘Mighty Redwoods’, category & usual position = Goalkeeper, Soccer experience = 15 years; age = 29, left-pawed, medium-brown fur; she has a verry good record at the ‘League’ level. (She made her international debut in WC62.)

(#27)

(#2) Urradorra o Barrdenn _ Clan = GreenWoods, home team = Barrdenn Barbariennes, category = Defender, usual position = Left Back, experience = 12 years; age = 27, left-pawed, fur = dark-medium brown & moderately long.

(#3) Marraya RedRose _ Clan = Royal Redwood, home team = 'Mighty Redwoods’, category = Defender, preferred position = Right Back, 17 years experience of Soccer; age = 28, left-pawed, fur = medium brown with reddish tint; relatively small, but strong and quite fast. (She made her international debut in WC62.)

(#15)

(#16)

(#4) Sunnarra o Redwood _ Clan = Redwood, home team = 'Heroes' Park Harlequins, category = Defender/Midfielder, usual position = Lynchpin, experience = 13 years; age = 29, right-pawed, fur = light brown; quite fast; has a degree in Military Science. (She made her international debut in WC62.)

(#17) Marranna ThunderBolt _ Clan = Gunnar; home team = Arrh’Fhwerrn United, category = Midfielder or Defender, usual position = Lynchpin, experience = 9 years; age = 24, ambidextrous, fur = medium-brown; rather average in appearance, but way above average in talent. (She made her international debut in WC62.)

[#30]

(#5) Karra Thunder _ Clan = Gunnar, home team = PassPort Athletic, Soccer experience = 23 years, category = Midfielder or Defender, preferred position = Midfield Left; age = 38, left-pawed, fur = dark brown. (She has been with the Belles since the team’s international debut in WC58.)

(#6) Arranna o Errha _ Clan = Irrumbarra; home team = Harr Fherredh Rangers, category = Midfielder or Winger, usual position = Midfield Right, experience = 10 years; age = 24, left-pawed, fur = light-medium brown. (She made her international debut in WC62.)

(#20) Jiehra WestWalker _ Harr’aynau _ Clan = MiddleBear, home team = ‘Free City Furies’, category = Midfielder or Winger, usual position = Midfield Left (but flexible about this), experience = 9 years; humanoid, age = 24, dark red hair, left-footed; identical twin of #21, with whom she shares a rapport that makes them especially effective when working together. (She made her international debut in WC62.)

(#21) Irrala WestWalker _ Harr’aynau _ Clan = MiddleBear, home team = ‘Free City Furies’, category = Midfielder or Winger, usual position = Midfield Left (but flexible about this), experience = 9 years; humanoid, age = 24, dark red hair, left-footed; identical twin of #21, with whom she shares a rapport that makes them especially effective when working together. (She made her international debut in WC62.)

(#7) Irrona LightChild _ Clan = Sun; home team = Harr Burran Heroines, category = Forward, usual position = Left Forward, experience = 12 years; age = 28, right-pawed, fur = blonde, very keen eyesight. (She made her international debut in WC62.)

She is a very accurate kicker, and therefore the usual first choice for taking free kicks & penalties; her nickname comes from her fur-colour, her very sweet nature, and (it must be admitted) the fact that she's sometimes been a bit “thick” in the past…although she seems to be becoming smarter by now (She has been with the Belles since the team’s international debut in WC58.)

(#11) Jerrannya OldWood _ Clan = Old Redwood, home team = Mighty Redwoods, category = Forward, usual position = Right Forward, experience = 14 years; age = 25, right-pawed, fur = greyish-brown, has good eyesight. (She made her international debut in WC62.)

(She made her international debut in WC62.)

[#13] Roh’hsarra EastWalker _ Harr’aynau _ Clan = Harr’aynau, home team = ‘Harr Harrh-eh Hurricanes’, category = Winger or Forward, usual position = Right Winger or Right Forward, experience = 10 years; humanoid, age =26, ginger hair, right-footed. (She made her international debut in WC62.)

Style
+3.5… “A good offence is the best defence”.

Their usual formation will include a front row of at least 5 (normally as 3 strikers & 2 wingers), plus either 3 midfield & 2 backs or 2 midfield & 3 backs, plus of course the goalkeeper.

RP Permisions

Opponents may _

Choose my goalscorers: Y (but when I post the roster I'll suggest the most likely candidates for this)
Godmod Scoring Events: Y

RP injuries to my players / Godmod injuries to my players / Hand out Yellow cards to my players / Hand out Red cards to my players: Y to all, at least to start with, but remember what I've written here and keep it in limits accordingly... Any serious offences by my players would probably result in injuries to your players, and causing any serious injuries to my players would probably require such obviously-deliberate attacks that your players would get yellow or even red cards as a result too.

Godmod Other Events: Y, I suppose... but please remember that Ursines are fully sapient beings, as much as Humans are (well, almost so, anyway....), NOT instinct-driven animals. Oh, and of course female Ursines are NOT sexually interested in Humans (of either sex), and it's very unlikely that female Harr'ayanau would be either.

Kits
Home = bright yellow, with the bear's-paw emblem (as on the national flag) in bright green on both front & back of the shirt.
Away = bright green, with the bear's-paw emblem (as on the national flag) in bright yellow on both front & back of the shirt.
Goalkeepers = shirt “quartered” (both front & back) in yellow & green, with bears-paw emblem in maroon. Shorts yellow on left & green on right, socks vice versa.
(Identifying numbers & players’ names will be in black if on yellow, or in white if on green: Armed Bears has traditionally used base-8 arithmetic, for several reasons, so the sequence used here will be _ 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 20, 21, etc...)

___________________________________________________________

Home Ground

All of the team’s ‘home’ games during this Cup’s qualifying stages will be played in the Royal Arena at Urrath-am-Barrah, the nation’s capital city, which can seat approximately 60’000 people. Up to 10’000 places will be available for visitors.
The easiest means of access to this nation will be by means of an ancient (and probably magical) set of “Gates”, whose keepers can open them to locations in the other countries concerned if those other nations are willing to accept this: Otherwise, it will require a sea-voyage to one of our neighbours and then a quite lengthy journey overland by rail or road…

If the organisers permit then the team's members, including subsititutes, will do a [short] traditional war-dance (similar to the [RL] New Zealanders' 'haka'...), on the pitch, just before each match begins: This is called the 'Harrdiharr'... ;-)

After some events of unkown reasons. Called "the almighty tsunami that the Rushmori press didn't dare report about", someplayers are missing. They were replaced by very weird people. No-one knows who they are, why they were chosen, why they're here, where they come from and when they were born. At least that's the case with most of them. They've decided to keep he Charruterran super-offensive tradition. Do expect some crazy events during matches.

The Asociación Charruterrana de Fútbol is happy to announce their roster for WC 62:

Image
Nickname: Los Charruas
Style: (random formations every match) +4
Manager: Team is ruled by Anarchy, the strongest decides the formation

Starting XI:

GK:
Name: Mr. X
Age: ?
Team: None
Bio: Mr. X is a real mystery. People wonder who he might be, as he always carries a mask. He sometimes takes out a laser gun (which is fake) and points at players. Most of the times, this prevents them from shooting and scoring against the poor excuse of a goalkeeper he really is. Intersting way to make up for his lack of skills, indeed. Rumoured to be a previous successful, world cup-winning goalkeeper who made himself forget everything because what he knew was too much for him to carry.

CB:
Name: Marlon Suffix
Age: ?
Team: None
Bio: Suffix's life is really interesting: he once fell down the stairs on his way to work and woke up to find out his mother-in-law had taken over the world. However, he somehow managed to defeat her after a twenty-seven-years-long adventure, after which he managed to go back in time and change everything. He rewound to the exact moment where he'd fall down the stairs. However, he fell again and woke up having been called up for the Charruterran national team.

CB:
Name: Darth Rider
Age: 5
Team: None
Bio: A 5-year-old who can ride horses easily. He usually enters the pitch riding one, and his way of scoring is by making them shoot and all sucjh fancy things. In all truth, he's just lucky, but people don't notice that.

LM:
Name: Canamazán Fajú
Age: 23
Team: Helsirn CSKA (Svengarda)
Bio: Fajú, one of the few that managed to survive. He's pretty talented and, if Charruterra somehow manages to score any goal, it'd probably be thanks to him, Cloyan or Cohújaan. He plays for Svenga side Helsirn CSKA, and has won two leagues. Pretty boring guy, but if only he knew what's awaiting for him.... no-one would be able to imagine it.

CM:
Name: Marf-fahojölkilnmo
Age: 72,648
Team: None
Bio: A dragon from ancient Charruterra that recently woke up in a human body. He doesn't speak any language and can breather fire. Still doesn't know how the game works, or if he should or shouldn't attack the fans. Approach at your own risk.

CM:
Name: Ç
Age: ?
Team: None
Bio: Ç is a really important player of the team. It's a floating "Ç", but what's important about it is how it distracts the other players. Intentionally put in the center of the field, it's a good way of distracting other players. However, rumours has it that one day it'll explode and anything could happen.

RM:
Name: Nomi Nomi
Age: ?
Team: None
Bio: Nomi Nomi is a Charruterran from an uncivilzed tribe. He hasn't got a clue of what football actually is and usually starts fighting with people. Enters the pitch with really old weapons that are extremely inefective. Like rocks. He will occasionally kick the ball forward if it somehow gets to his feet. He also sometimes attacks the ball when it gets to his feet, saying it's something like a spawn of the devil.

LAM:
Name: Adeltú Cohújaan
Age: 18
Team: Yuambú SC
Bio: Another survivor. One of the few that actually knows the game and plays it professionally. Cohújaan is a really young AMC who plays as LAM for Charruterra. His playmaking abilities are incredible,a nd his long-distance shooting and dribbling as well. However, these things won't really matter if you take a look at how random the team apparently is.

CAM:
Name: Alexandria Yakushkin
Age: 45
Team: None
Bio: After meeting with a woman who spoke Charrúa, the Charruterrans decided to kidnap her and make her part of the team. They found out she was above-average when compared to some others, and ths she could get the starting position. However, some people believe the reason is because some Charruterrans are naughty, and others want to sacrifice her to Sharuujpán. Truth is, she's gonna be a starter. Despite being Polarian.

RAM:
Name: Gargantrout
Age: 2,000
Team: None
Bio: A legend in Charruterra, Gargantrout is a gargantuan trout that has lived for two millennia already. For its 2000-year birthday, it was gifted a place in the national team. Also, as congratulations for saving Charruterra from the already-mentioned event.

ST:
Name: Cloyan
Age: 27
Team: O Lajau SC
Bio: Another one who survived. The event twisted his mind so much that he's now a completely common person and isn't mentally ill. He still knows how to play football and can play really well. Will be one of the few who can actually score.

Substitutes:

GK:
Name: Shajú Ohoj
Age: 30
Team: Pacahocaf SC
Bio: Ohoj routinely takes part on ceremonies, current best goalkeeper of the LCF. However, he's not part of the Starting XI due to Mr. X turning out to concede less goals despite of how sucky he is. Extremely childish, doesn't care about being on the bench. He's already happy with having survived.

CB:
Name: The Summer Escense
Age: ?
Team: None
Bio: The Summer Escense is a non-corporeal escense of the summer that somehow can play as CB. It does pretty well, but no-one really seems to remember how, when or what happened.

CB:
Name: Chacutupú Lonjá
Age: 17
Team: Pacahocaf SC
Bio: Lonká is extremely young, and is hoping to be a sultan. If he ever gets the title, he'll replace Sultáj Zoba Má easily as he's much better and much younger than him. He's only 17 and already a starter for two-time-champions Pacahocaf SC. Plus, he survived.

CM:
Name: A Light Bulb
Age: 7 days
Team: None
Bio: Brought here from Charruterra, produced by Luces Barats INC, here's a.... light bulb? What the hell is a light bulb doing in a roster?

CAM:
Name: Star Nº 75598RY
Age: 1,643,791,812,932
Team: None
Bio: A star was also added to the roster. It's the only star discovered by a Charruterran and was picked because of that. It's believed it holds the sould of Sharuujpán, although this is completely unfounded. It's in the roster just to bring the team luck. Because, you know, they'll certainly need it.

ST:
Name: Bloyan
Age: 27
Team: O Lajau SC
Bio: Cloyan's twin also survived. Most likely sub to enter the pitch.

Mytanar National Team.

Image

Manager.
Manager - Sergyei Arefev - 45
Two World Cups in charge and some relative success in both campaigns, qualifying for both (eventually, in the latter of the two), and managing to get to the last sixteen in World Cup 62. This is a big achievement on the Mytanar manager's part as they've only managed that twice prior, however his team had a big nosedive in the Copa. He now needs some success as the folks at the FSM are getting a little impatient and want something to cool their desire for silverware. He likes solid, counter attacking football and doesn't allow for much creativity in the side, instead focusing on the fundamentals of defending, closing the ball down quickly and trying to disrupt play before launching swift counter attacks. He does channel the team's creativity through Snerik Oiskha and does enjoy some complicated corner routines. The team will have a hardnosed, well-organised style, similar to the way Arefev himself goes about things, they will be tough to break down whilst maintaining the ability to play some decent football going forward.

Starting XI.
#1 - GK - Demy de Zooijt - 31 - East Franz Athletic (Polar Islandstates) - 58 caps
An experienced goalkeeper who knows what he is doing. He'd been pushed out of the starting role by Kondrat Istomin but after an outstanding season at East Franz where he was part of the side that won the title back. He'll be excellent if he's back in his previous form, after all he's played for Mytannion 58 times before and only conceded 2 goals in the whole of one qualifying campaign, which is very impressive.

#2 - LB - Lev Repin - 27 - FC Ararat Severyan - 28 caps, 1 goal - Captain
He was an ever-present captain for his club side last season. His ability to defend well and reliably, breaking up play with fair but strong challenges is combined with what he offers going forward, pinpoint crossing. His set piece ability is exceptional, he'll probably the primary set piece taker - especially free kicks. He's a very useful player to have because of this, especially with players who are good in the air in the squad. He's well liked by the whole squad and is pretty much always composed, he's been handed the captain's armband because of that.

#3 - CB - Martin Latka - 27 - FC Torshavn (Polar Islandstates) - 55 caps, 2 goal
The 6'7 behemoth is good in the air - for obvious reasons - but also maintains a good level of control with the ball at his feet, he's able to pick a pass well enough. He tackles strongly and marks well also, he does lack pace though and quick strikers could cause him a good deal of trouble if they get him caught off-guard. He had a slightly disappointing season with FC Torshavn in Divisjon One, so hopefully he'll hit back at that with some good performances with the national side.

#4 - CB - Lavrentii Aliev - 28 - Liria Prizren - 26 caps
Aliev is undersized for a centre back, but he's quick and surprisingly strong. He'll be the one given the task to mark quicker strikers and perhaps give them a little kick every so often. His tackling is good but he's not the best in the air. He's more experienced than he seems however and will make good decisions often - he'll be marshaling the defence this tournament, we expect.

#5 - RB - Dennis Adkvissen - 26 - SK Aasiaat Harbour (Polar Islandstates) - 46 caps, 1 goal
Adkvissen is a good defensive full back, offering security down the right flank. Happily enough for the national team, this suits the system they intend to play for years to come - with the defence just sitting back and leaving the attacking stuff to the midfield and attack, they want defenders who are prepared to sit back and wait. Adkvissen is good at this and is a tall and strong full back, with a good turn of pace good footballing intelligence. His tackling sometimes leaves a bit to be desired as it is often messy and a bit dangerous, but Arefev isn't too bothered considering a large part of the way his team are designed to play is around aggression and physicality.

#6 - CDM - Tikhon Voronin - 23 - Liria Prizren - 24 caps
Voronin has grown into the role as a player for both the national side and for his domestic team. He's improved his disciplinary record and gets less silly bookings. He's still as aggressive as ever and does slide in as often, but his tackling is much improved. His role is to break-up the play and move the ball on with the national team and that is exactly what he does. His passing is good and that is what is necessary in the role. He slots into the defence when there is a need for it to.

#7 - CM - Dobroslav Stojanovic - 23 - Atletik Thessia - 22 caps, 5 goals
Stojanovic is an impressive young midfielder who is really taking up the mantle of Robin Hjik. He'll be playing the Robin Hjik role of old, the box-to-box role where he breaks forward joining attacks. He's a classic goalscoring midfielder and does this fairly consistently both for his new club, his old club and now his country. He's quick, no-nonsense and has outstanding long-range shooting ability. His passing is also excellent, it is accurate and forward thinking - he is a creative and intelligent player who can start-up moves and really link the attack and the midfield. Added to his responsibility this time around is a bit more defensive work as Hjik will be on the bench this time, so Stojanovic will have to fulfill his role.

#16 - CM - Ismet van Huijgevoort - 22 - Atletik Thessia - 4 caps, 1 goal
A more attacking presence in the midfield for Mytannion, he is more forward thinking and less defensively able than the other central midfielders - but he provides Arefev a different option. He will in effect become another attacking midfielder who can join attacks and help to flood the central area of the opposition's defence which will allow the Mytanar team to move the ball through quickly with short passes. He is an outstanding talent and will score plenty for the national side, as he has in the Top League. His finishing is clinical and he will team-up with Stojanovic well.

#9 - AM - Snerik Oiskha - 20 - FC Torshavn (Polar Islandstates) - 37 caps, 7 goals
Oiskha will create problems for the opposition in their final third by picking killer passes and having close control to ghost through defences. His movement will be key too, he should be able to create space where others cannot, which should give him room to work the ball, something that will be important if our long-ball tactic doesn't work. He will be the creative heartbeat of this side. He normally threads good passes through for Kaitanen and links well with v Tuhinju as the big man can head the ball down to him for him to create something. He had a difficult first season for FC Torshavn but was still one of the five best youngsters in the league.

#10 - ST - Laze v Tuhinju - 26 - Northbrook Diamonds FK (Polar Islandstates) - 56 caps, 25 goals
A forward who is absolutely outstanding in the air, if a cross is put between the penalty spot and 6-yard box, chances are that more often than not, v Tuhinju will be on the end of it to smash it home with his cranium. He also has a surprising bit of acceleration which can help him move away from defenders, his composure in front of goal and his finishing are top class also. When he's actually dribbling with the ball he's not too much danger, but if the ball falls to him or he shoots first time he will cause a lot of problems and should score a fair few goals.

#11 - ST - Iivari Kaitanen - 20 - CAP (Valladares) - 22 caps, 10 goals
He ghosts into areas behind defenders where they don't want him and his speed to get ahead of them is scary. He is quick and uses this weapon often. He is a bit of a goal poacher, but it works so well for him. He is expert at bending his run to stay onside and often when the pass is played through is out on his own because of how quick he is. His finishing is good and he is decent in the air for someone who is only 5'9, but he is just cerebral when the ball falls to him in the box or when he uses his speed to move past defenders and then lash home a strike.

Substitutes.
#12 - GK - Kondrat Istomin - 25 - Bastion (FSSO) - 33 caps
He's reliable and he held down the national team #1 spot for a long while because of this. He's done the same for Bastion in the FSSO. He isn't the tallest goalkeeper but his reflexes save him regularly and are what make him so good, he anticipates shots well also. He's lost the starting gig purely because de Zooijt is in such good form and has recently won a title, he'll get the job back when de Zooijt retires, it is expected.

#13 - CB - Fabijan Bacic - 23 - Augusta (Darmen) - 4 caps
He got his move to Augusta in Darmen and now wants to get his chance to play at the national level with some consistency. He times his challenges well and is very adept in the air, he does need to work on marking players and anticipating what happens though, he is by no means a complete product yet. He's strong and has a bit of pace too, meaning he can at least stand up against quick strikers.

#14 - RB - Akhmet Mironov - 24 - FC Ararat Severyan - 12 caps
He got some caps when he was a bit younger, back in the days when he was playing for Torpedo Vershina, but Adkvissen's return to form coincided with a decline in his performances and meant he lost the starting job. He's looking to fight to get it back now as he gets back in form and back to winning games both for club and country.

#15 - DM - Thorvar Prijholm - 21 - Atletik Thessia - 8 caps
Prijholm is good at doing what Musa Kiril did for the national team for years, tackling and moving the ball along. He is also good at picking people out, long-range passing being a good attribute of his, he often hits long diagonal passes to quick forwards. He will try to utilise this with Iivari Kaitanen, hitting long balls to try and turn defenders around and getting them out of shape against Kaitanen. It will probably be a rotation policy between him and Voronin, so Prijholm offers similar things to Voronin but also offers some regular goals - he's decent in the air and often gets on the end of set pieces.

#8 - CM - Robin Hjik - 37 - Atletik Thessia - 149 caps, 59 goals
The man who seems to have been around forever and made his first ever international appearance aged just 16. Hjik is still going, although in this tournament he'll be left on the bench for a lot of the time and used sparingly to get the most out of him. He's played 425 games for Atletik Thessia down the years and has scored 177 goals and nearly 60 goals at international level is a clue of his quality. He's the hero of millions of Mytanars and continues to compete at the highest level. He can carve open a defence with a single pass and is good defensively too, tackling strong and often before beginning to dribble at speed. His set piece ability is good also, he'll take penalties and any long-range free kicks that present themselves to him. Any time he comes on the pitch he'll be given the captain's armband.

#17 - CM - Iuliu Zaplatic - 26 - FC Ararat Severyan - 9 caps
Zaplatic is of a similar mould to Stojanovic and will be substituted on as a like-for-like replacement for him if he is injured or tired, he won't be substituted on as something different. His passing is good and he gets a whole lot of assists because of it, but it his ability to be in the right place at the right time and pop up with goals that makes him so good. He's strong and pacy and reminds some of a young Niek van der Zwan - who he effectively replaced in the squad. He'll be used more than Hjik, who will probably only be brought on in dire situations.

#18 - ST - Jakub Novotny - 25 - Tannenberg FC (Valladares) - 4 caps
A clinical goalscorer, he's not anything out of the ordinary in this sense, he's simply an out-and-out goalscorer who loves to get the ball in and around the opposition's penalty area and to have a go at putting it in the back of the net. He's quick and uses that to get away from defenders and is a very good dribbler, he can always find a way to go past defenders. He's not great in the air or from outside the penalty area, but inside there, he is lethal and can almost always find a way to score.

Reserves.
#19 - GK - Krystof Cerny - 23 - 1.FFC Turbine Decraa - Uncapped
He's getting his chance, a good goalkeeper who has outgrown the under-21s and this is something Mytannion need - an eventual replacement for Kondrat Istomin and Demy de Zooijt, it is hoped Cerny may be the one. He's fairly acrobatic and good at moving around his area, but is still prone to making some silly mistakes.

#20 - LB - Rob Fridrich - 22 - Atletik Thessia - 1 cap
He's a solid player who will offer a sturdy and reliable replacement. He's good going forward too, offering a more attacking option at the back if there is any transition needed. He's learned a lot this past season, especially in the defensive department, which is the most important thing for him. He's a very solid player and he will continue to grow at a club that suits him well.

#21 - CB - Tomas Koudela - 23 - Atletik Thessia - 1 cap
A physical centre back who is good in the air and a tough tackler, he's playing for a top club domestically and so is used to winning - he is sometimes a bit overconfident, which makes him prone to mistakes, he's improving though and this complacency is being taken out of his game. He'll be a huge talent and an eventual starter in the national team. When he does play he'll need to play well as he has Narek Berozhserkovsky breathing down his neck for the role.

#22 - AM - Aleksandr Kulikov - 21 - FC Ararat Severyan - 12 caps, 2 goal
Aleks Kulikov is a great talent. He doesn't get involved in the nitty gritty of the game too much and instead becomes almost a third striker as he plays in an advanced position. He's a more direct attacking midfielder than Snerik Oiskha, making aggressive runs towards defenders, trying to take them on and get in position to take a shot at goal.

#23 - ST - Igor Artemiev - 23 - 1923 Esca - 15 caps, 3 goals
He's good at staying on the last man and then sprinting onto balls lobbed over the defenders heads, but he's also adept at playing out on the sideline and then cutting in behind onto passes. He also is very good at bringing others into play, a link between strikers. He'll be used to offer something different than the other forwards on the team.

The fans are renowned for being violent, hooliganism is a huge, huge problem in Mytannion and this continues when their fans follow the national team overseas. Fans will cause trouble and light up flares, set off fireworks and carry massive flags with them.

Valery Klycks

(No offense intended Slem.)

Basically, the greatest player in all of Swyftlandian...no World History. Valery Klycks (Val Klycks for short) started life working as a waitress in a beat down roadside Restaurant The Golden Fork which topped only Five Customers per day. The food was no better either, Spam Burger & Chips or Chip Burger & Spam and free can of Year Old Coke with every meal. The only upside to the job was the annual company Football Match between the Two Sole Employee's, Sal the Coffee Man and Val Klycks. Val Klycks was masterful at the sport, winning games at an average of 1453-0 and has been receiving the Swyftlandre Women's Best Player Award for the last 23 Years (despite the fact she's only 26 Year's Old). Eventually, she was swept up by the Swyftlandian Football Confederation and immediately summoned to play for the Swyftlandre Women's National Team for the Women's World Cup where they won (It happened it some Multiverse :P), all thanks to Val's early goals. [Fun Fact: Her Earliest Goal was at only 12 Seconds against a team compiled of all the best players in the Multiverse.]

She was considered so brilliant that the S.F.C has decided that she would join the Swyftlandian Team but that wasn't enough, why should she need those other player's weakening her and weighing her down and so it was decided that she would play for the Swyftlandian Team alone. After an unsuccessful run in the Campionato Esportiva, she returns to play on the big stage and take her team to the finals of the World Cup (But not really).

The Daily Sheep

World Cup Squad Announced

The squad seems to have failed to evolve since the cup of harmony, mostly due to the lack of interest from everyone Birolik in football. As a result home matches will continue to be played at Dalton Stadium with a capacity of just 5,000, most of which will be empty or full of away fans. The only changes to the squad is the fact that we have added Van Kylx's clone, who we stole last cup, as a coach. By this we mean he is an under-paid servant to the team as he has to get them drinks and what not.

With the abolition of private property, then, we shall have true, beautiful, healthy Individualism. Nobody will waste his life in accumulating things, and the symbols for things. One will live. To live is the rarest thing in the world. Most people exist, that is all.

The Kasian National Squad

Postby Secundus Kasius » Sat Dec 29, 2012 1:29 pm

Sponsored by ColombaTM

Secundus Kasius:

Secundus Kasius is a sprawling mass of huddled boroughs, interspersed with small areas of accidental natural beauty. It has been “united” for 95 years, since the infamous Domito Haxtes led his forces against the other cities within the land of Kasius. Since then the Haxtes family has led with an iron fist, controlling the nation through a combination of oppression, law, and a vast lack of social mobility. There is a large amount of in-fighting between those in line to the Secundus Kasius throne, and as such rulers do not last long – Domito Haxtes was replaced by Laevis Haxtes within five years of unification, who met an unfortunate accident at the end of his reign. Sicara Haxtes is the current Unifier, having been in power for ten years.

The capital borough is Nexus, and this is the only area which most tourists to the country will visit – it is a large industrialised area, with new buildings squashed in crassly besides and between historical ones. However despite this, in the daylight hours visitors would find much of the city deserted, as the general populace is expected to be working hard during this time. The people of Nexus are generally cautious around strangers, as crime rates are high and the police care for little – those on the street look for profit rather than justice, whilst those in the offices focus upon pleasing the Haxtes family. Visitors are advised to avoid the police as much as they are the general populace. Weaponry is not only legal but encouraged for self defence, and this can make even the tamest bar-fight turn nasty. Alcohol and other recreational drugs are plentiful, perhaps to keep the native Kasians sane.

Football in Secundus Kasius
:

Whilst football is a traditional sport of Secundus Kasius- though the rules are often hotly debated – it was only recently that an official international team was formed. This is mostly due to the common people being 'encouraged' to take jobs which benefit the people (aka the government) rather than entertaining the masses. Instead football is viewed mostly as a hobby, and those on the few national teams also hold down full-time jobs in industry. Football is also played by the elite of Secundus Kasius, who of course have no need for other jobs - however, the sport they play is much more gentile than the rough-and-tumble experienced on the pitches of the majority of the nation. A few months ago the Kasian squad made their international début in AOCAF 38, making a promising start although ultimately failing to pass through the first round. However, the fire had then been lit in the hearts of players and fans alike, and the Kasian team blitzed through Baptism of Fire 50 with only two losses – finishing with a very respectable 3rd place. Now they're back with an attempt to further push their luck and slip into the rankings of the big nations.

The Kasian Stadium: Nexus Forest

With national football being a fairly recent phenomenon, there has previously been little call for an actual building dedicated to the game within Secundus Kasius - the sudden realisation that the nation would be hosting international games of their very own was a shock to many. As such, there is no actual permanent stadium. However, ColombaTM Beverages stepped forward once more and erected a temporary stadium in the Nexus forest, one of the few areas of beauty left in the area. Now the bulldozers have finished and the turf is freshly laid, it seems construction of the seating will be finished in time for the Kasian team's first home match – the main delay has been the apparent need for specially designed seats, with drinkholders which match the size and shape of ColombaTM beverages suspiciously well. The stadium itself is nestled within the forest itself, surrounded on all sides by vast pines, and can seat 30,000. Unfortunately, no provision has been made for those with mobility difficulties.

Sponsor: ColombaTM Beverages

During AOCAF, the Haxtes family – 'Unifiers' of Secundus Kasius – were wary of risking any money on a national first, and awarded Colomba Beverages the broadcasting rights for all national sports this year. This was something they later come to regret as televised sport spread through the nation like wildfire, and Colomba's profits soared. For the BoF and World Cup, the manufacturers of produces such as Caffee and Spike are being careful not to tread too heavily upon the toes of the Haxtes, in case their licence (and their lives) are reclaimed in the name of Secundus Kasius. They will be providing 'live' coverage for the airwaves, and are also re-installing the big screens in Nexus Borough Square so people may watch (and spend) 'as a community'.

Manager: Ravion Victus

The success of the Kasian national team in the hearts of Secundus Kasius saved the life of Sir Victus, after he lost his position as Minister of Cultural Affairs after a shocking scandal. This scandal is currently threatening to break him, as he recently attempted to 'visit' the successor to the Unifier title – Conjura Haxtes – and is currently under armed guard at all times. There is speculation as to whether he'll be allowed back into Secundus Kasius for the matches placed at home. Whilst much of his time is spent focussing upon the physical fitness of the team, his main role is actually to ensure the team does not embarrass the nation in front of the international eye. Whilst Victus sees himself as a fair manager, he has the inborn prejudices of the Kasian nobility, and he is much more comfortable dealing with those nearer his social status, and when possible he will side with them. Despite this, he has a less than favourable view of Potenta Callidus, after some of her antics during the Baptism of Fire.

Mascot: Milly Guilder

Milly leapt to accidental fame after appearing on the Daily Dove news, rooting for Secundus Kasius to win. She is small, blonde, and criminally sweet – and she knows it. A very intelligent 9yr old, she is well-versed in the art of getting what she wants, and currently that is adoration. Shortly after her appearance she was hired by Colomba to shoot a few commercials, and since then it's almost impossible to see any footage of the international team without seeing Milly alongside them. However, recently there has been discontent with her role, both from activists claiming the constant travel and exposure is unsuitable for a young girl, whilst cynics declare she has lost her 'cuteness factor', and have even gone so far to suggest that she is bringing poor luck to the team.

The Starting Squad: 3-4-3 formation

Goalkeeper

Name: Freddy Arkwright
Freddy "Brick" Arkwright has been a miner for as long as anyone can remember, and he has the musculature to show it. Whilst not particularly agile, his bulk and seemingly infinite pain threshold allow him to block most attempts merely by standing in the way. It has also been suggested (though not to his face) that he was relegated to the goalkeeper position after maiming another player during a nasty tackle - these rumours, whilst never proven, can make Freddy an intimidating figure to meet when trying to score, especially after multiple attempts to attack players who slip the ball past him.

Defence

Name: Johnny Hall
Johnny's day job is a reporter for the Daily Dove, one of Secundus Kasius' national newspapers. Upon his editor discovering Johnny played football as a kid, he was quickly given leave and handed a suitcase, so he could cover events from within the action of the AOCAF. Now he has a secure job as an international sports journalist, and though it can be stressful he is very good at keeping his nerve in most situations. What Johnny lacks in endurance he makes up for in speed and an uncanny ability to be in the right place at the right time - he is not above a few kicks towards the shins when he can be sure the referee isn't watching.

Name: Hayden Jones [Captain]
Mr Jones is a physical education teacher, and to the children, his word is *law*. An imposing figure, he is regarded as one of the best defenders known to the nation - he is relentless when it comes to reclaiming the ball. The rules are very important to him, and any attempt to break them, by either his team or the opponents, will be met with very strong opposition. You can be certain that, back in Nexus High, there will be a group of schoolchildren eagerly cheering on their teacher from the classroom.

Name: Potenta Callidus
A member of the nobility who believe football is an acceptable pastime, Miss Callidus is an impressionable young lady with a desire to win. Sir Victus goes to great efforts to keep her from the more vocal male members of the team, but some of the women are just as bad, and from her recent vocabulary it is clear he's fighting a losing battle. Alongside her language, Potenta's play style is also adapting, with her usual polite taps turning into fullblown (and surprisingly effective) tackles and the occasional dive thrown in for good measure, now she's learnt people will not always just give her what she wants. During the Baptism of Fire Callidus accidentally started a fashion trend within Nexus when she attended a match straight from a suspected tryst, and played in merely an oversized football shirt and belt.

Midfielders

Name: Andy Harris
A young lad, Mr Harris' skills at chemistry found him a job working pharmaceuticals from a relatively early age. The time spent in the labs meant Andy needed a way to blow off some steam, and football was his answer. The fumes from the drugs he works with all day (Secundus Kasius is not known for its safety standards) mean Andy is not the most healthy individual, but he moves with an eerie and fragile speed upon the pitch.

Name: Quintos Serpa
Quintos is of the opinion that seeing the world is dreadfully fashionable, and as such he trained and trained to be part of the starting squad. Whilst many may mistake him for just another fop, he is actually rather intelligent and this shows through on the pitch. He's studied previous matches from all over the region, and though not the most physically fit on the field, his mental agility more than makes up for this and he is often found where he is needed most. Quintos does not have the endurance to sprint about the pitch all match, and is instead used as an interim for passes – he is surprisingly accurate with a ball. Recently there were rumours that Serpa and Potenta Callidus were becoming intimate, but there has been nothing to substantiate such claims, and it is rare you will see the two together.

Name: Laura Jackson
Laura cringes inwardly when people learn of her job – she works as a lion tamer for her local zoo, and the jokes are endless. She is one of the team's powerhouses, with a strong tackle and a good right foot. However, she is very independent, and will often miss chances if they involve a substantial amount of teamwork. Another highly competent player for a national team, Laura is known to be sturdy, reliable, and nigh impossible to knock down...all important traits in her profession.

Name: Castus Caudex (1 goal at international level)
Sir Castus is not the most intelligent of men, and it shows. When his parents noticed his lack of spark, they instead enrolled him in an intense physical training course run by one of the Haxtes themselves (admittedly a distant relative). After years of this regime, the man is built like a brick wall, yet surprisingly agile for his stature. Caudex struggles when he is left alone on the pitch, but when he has other team-mates to help lead his actions he is a valuable member of the squad.

Forwards

Name: Ben Turner (5 goals at international level)
Speed is the name of Ben's game, both in his professional role as a paramedic but also on the pitch. One of his major assets is his ability to patch up players so they can play, in the likely event of a dressing room punch-up. Wary of injuries himself, he can be a very cautious player, but when he is able to take a shot, it is more often than not upon target.

Name: Gallus Haxtes (8 goals at international level)
A member of the Haxtes family, rulers of Secundus Kasius, Gallus is shown a lot of respect upon the pitch when playing on Kasian turf. Unfortunately this does not reflect his ability, and he is often considered (in very quiet tones) to be a liability to the team's chances. A black sheep within his own family, Gallus tries his hardest to integrate himself with the rest of the players, but most avoid him either because of his status within Secundus Kasius, or the views of the rest of the Haxtes family. Gallus is used to people giving way and letting him score rather than directly challenging him, so expect tantrums when things inevitably don't go his way. (A brief note on naming - the Haxtes family is the head family of Secundus Kasius, and as such Gallus would never be referred to as "Haxtes" in any reports, to do so would imply Haxtes Sicara, Unifier of Secundus Kasius, was being mentioned!)

Name: Ed Holt (18 goals at international level)
The face of football in Secundus Kasius, Ed Holt – publicity chaser extraordinaire - is expected to deliver a fair few goals this tournament. Normally a chef for a high-class restaurant, Holt is hanging up his apron to represent his country on a different field. His love for football began when he started an outreach program for Kasian kids as a publicity stunt, but soon the club became the highlight of his life. Ed knows the media, and knows the best way to get his name heard is to focus on scoring goals and being seen – sometimes resorting to showboating or dirty tactics in a last-ditch effort to be the centre of attention.

Substitutes

Little is known of the Kasian substitutes other than their names and professions - why should the Kasians care for them if they didn't make the starting squad? However, they have also been granted a leave of absence from work, though a lot less effort has been placed into ensuring they are up-to-date on local customs and rules.

TEAM COWARDLY PACIFISTS:
The Chickens

Image

Style Modifier: -5
My opponent, if they RP first, may do the following:
Choose my goalscorers - Yes
Godmod scoring events - Yes
Roleplay injuries to my players - Yes
Godmod injuries to my players - Yes
Hand out yellow cards to my players - Yes
Hand out red cards to my players - Yes
Godmod other events - Yes
Just about anything is fair game as far as I'm concerned. Just don't be a jerk.

World Cup 63 Roster

Pete McKinney - Head Coach: The CP International Football Committee named Pete McKinney as head coach of the Chickens to replace retiring Coach David Encover. McKinney has been involved in football almost his entire life as a player, trainer, and assistant coach. As a player, McKinney was one of the CP’s premier center backs, and it is widely believed that he will continue the Cowardly Pacifist tradition of playing a highly defensive scheme. Still, his record as an assistant coach suggests that he will be more aggressive than the retiring Encover.

Roosevelt Austin - GK #1: Austin is a team leader well-know for his quick reflexes and acrobatic saves. He is coming off his best season in the CP Amateur League in which he posted 5 shut-outs in the first half of the season and added 3 more in the second half.

Daniel Woods - FB #2: After finishing a year in the CP Amateur League in which he was voted one of the most consistent players, Woods is entering his first year of World Cup eligibility. He is one of the biggest men on the field (by Cowardly Pacifist standards) and has a reputation for being very physical - sometimes to a fault.

Miguel Cruz - FB #3: Regarded as the team's defensive speedster, Cruz has demonstrated versatility by occupying the Full Back role on either the right or left side. Though a bit undersized for his position, Cruz is one of the toughest players on the team and rarely shys away from contact.

Salvador Lynch - CB #4: In a break from tradition, the Chickens are starting a lone center back and Salvador is the man. Tall and agile, Salvador is an ideal defender who has distinguished himself as a key scorer off corner kicks.

Dexter Malone - DM #5 (C): Widely regarded as the best all-around athlete on the Chickens squad, Malone is a natural leader. From his position as a Defensive Midfielder, Malone manages the middle back of the field and is capable of quickly transitioning from defense to offense. Recently named team captain by Coach McKinney, Malone has turned heads by promising to deliver a winning record in this year's Qualifiers.

Lynn Hubbard - CM #6: A true box-to-box midfielder, Lynn Hubbard is as comfortable making hard tackles on defense as he is starting and finishing attacks on the offensive side of the pitch. His conditioning is second to none and he is usually the last man to be pulled for a breather.

Leo Mitchell - CM #7: Covering the dead center of the pitch for the Chickens is Leo Mitchell. A younger player, he has shown surprising vision for his age which has helped him earn his place in the starting line up. A rangy midfielder, he is more comfortable on the assist - or taking a long shot on goal - than he is attacking defenders directly.

Byron Rhodes - CM #8: A small, slight man, Rhodes is an elusive midfielder and one of the best ball handlers on the team. What he lacks in raw physicality he makes up for in determination, quickness, and clever play.

Rogelio Barber - FM #9 (AC): From the forward middle position, Assistant Captain Rogelio Barber leads the Chickens efforts on the offensive side of the pitch. A masterful tactician, Barber has displayed excellent spatial awareness and an ability to make space and beat defenders 1-on-1. He leads all Chickens players in assists, and is almost more dangerous in setting up the score than finishing it himself.

Loren Edwards - ST #10: The oldest player on the team, Loren has been promising to retire for some time now: just as soon as someone can beat him out for the starting striker position. Since that hasn't happened, he remains the Chickens' primary scoring option. A brilliant player with impeccable vision and great leg strength, he figures to lead the Chickens in scoring.

Alberto Park - F #11: In what has become the signature of Pete McKinney's offense, the coach has paired his veteran striker with a younger, fresher forward. This year, that would be Alberto Park. Alberto has shown an ability to separate from defenders and frustrate goal keepers. Though he has not yet developed the vision of an old-hand like Edwards, he makes up for his inexperience with tenacity and determination.

Substitutes
Ed Howard - GK #18
Antonio Lambert - GK #19
Joe Webster - D #22
Allan Ford - D #23
Austin Oliver - D #24
Omar Hampton - M #31
Tim Pittman - M #32
Kevin Gonzalez - M #33
Jerry Rodriquez - M #34
Randy Collier - M #35
Simon Walton - F #41
Johnnie Jacobs - F #42

Team Details: The Chickens play a 3-5-2 offense designed to control the center of the field. The team prides itself on switching seamlessly to a 4-4-2 or a 3-4-3 to fit the situation. If the opposing defense seems too tough to crack, Rogelio Barber will play up from midfield as a third scoring option. On the other hand, if the other side's offense manages to break through the crowded midfield Dexter Malone will fall into a center back position to help relieve Salvador Lynch.

Image

Kits: The Chickens wear their primary kit whenever possible (home or away) but will switch to their alternate kit for special occasions or if requested by their opponent.

Primary Kit:
ImageImage
Alternate Kit:

Kits designed by Kirola Sportswear of Audioslavia

Stadium: The Chickendome - is located in the Cowardly Pacifists' capital city of Phrytton. All of the team's home matches are played there. The Chickendome has a maximum capacity of 22,460 seats, so fans are encouraged to purchase tickets early as events tend to fill up.

Commonwealth of Sandwich Territories World Cup 63 Squad

Nickname: The Royals
4-3-3

The Sandwich Territories are extremely excited to be involved in their first World Cup competition! Soccer is the official nation sport here, so you can safely bet your soul that all the major TV networks in Sandwich will be showing it. Even President Sir Al Fresco is being team decorative, ditching the suit for an official jersey.

NOTES: All home games are played in Le Stade de Triumph, in Old Crustville.

Team Overview

A historical feat followed after a recent takeover by Kristin Janette as the first female manager of the Mapletish National Association Football Team managed to advance to the knockout round of the Cup Of Harmony for the first time in the history of the Mapletish football team. And that was on her first major tournament as manager of the team. Under her guidance, the Lions raised from the 49th rank to the current 46th rank as of Pre WC 63 rankings. Apart from that, Janette developed a much more defensive approach to the Lions' game to allow greater flexibility in both the attack and defence.

It proved to be useful as the defensive line appeared to be more solid in the previous Cup Of Harmony, and it was deem as a change to Muain Newtons' ultra attacking football and Olenz Heinz attacking football. Only managing a win in his first tournament in charge, Heinz only managed to lead the Lions to a single victory in the tournament, crushing out at the group stage. The challenge is now on Janette to bring some World Cup football to the Lions, something that the fans have been waiting for every qualification campaign, it boils down to see whether Janette has what it takes to bring out the potential of the Lions and bring them to the World Cup in the Lions' seventh attempt to the World Cup qualification. The pressure is now on, and with the pressure now mounting on Janette and her players, what progress can she make?

Management Team

Manager: Kristin Janette, 26
Assistant Manager: Orinda Rosaline, 25
First-Team Coach: Isabel Calixta, 26
Goalkeeping Coach: Angelina Tina , 20
Physio: Asunción Irisa, 27
Team Doctor: Fionola Morna, 28

The management team that managed to put the Lions into their historical feat are now back for the next challenge into putting the Lions into the World Cup. The major reshuffle indeed saw new changes to the playing style and training methods, a newer playing style that may work is put into test for the Lions in the World Cup 63 qualification campaign.

Honorable Retirements
Goalkeeper - Oliver Kahner, 42
Defender - John Davis, 45
Centre Midfielder - Peres De Oliver, 37

[ 1 ] - GK - Travis Hard - Age 23 - Home United SC ♂
One of the youngest goalkeepers in the trade behind Oliver Kahner, it was clear that Hard as the talent to step up and put a neat fight for his position in both club and country however the reliable form of Kahner often put in the shadows of his senior. Despite having to wait for two years before he was able to get his first match in Mapletish jersey, he has since never look back as he was deem to be Kahner's most reliable backup and successor to the number one jersey of the Lions. The young and agile keeper will be the last line of defence in Janette's plans and the real test of his strength and mentality will come with the long drawn out campaign ahead.

[ 2 ] - DR - Barrett Ron - Age 17 - Struggait United ♂
Often seen bombing the down the right wing in support of the forwards or being the extra man in front to relieve the pressure off the shoulders of the midfielders whether is it in his club or in his jersey, the youngster was first introduced in Janette's new masterplan to bring the Lions as far in the Cup Of Harmony LIV as possible, Ron has truly blossomed under the tactical master plan that Janette has drawn out. Putting in attacking runs on the right wing and defending whenever possible, the solid wing back at such a young age would be a bargain for many clubs looking for a cheap yet reliable wing back.

[ 3 ] - DC - Glena Johnson - Age 27 - Home United - VICE CAPTAIN ♂
The main man in defence and the current most senior defender in the team after the retirement of John Davis, the student of the commander of defences John Davis. Learning from his senior step by step and eventually being able to play alongside him whilst gaining experience from matches and advise from his senior and mentor. Eventually he was given a call up by the national team because of his performances in the Premier League with Home United. Performances in clubs like Home United often don't go unnoticed and the fact that John Davis handed in as a recommendation really show something, he was up to task. Known for his rampant tackles, whether is it standing or sliding tackles, they were all well timed and well evacuated, the strengths of a defender indeed and well inherited from John Davis, most notably the best defender of Mapletish.

[ 4 ] - DC - Jaimie Lim - Age 21 - New Portland Rovers ♀
The thought of a female player in the defences with only a few years in professional football and almost zero experience in playing against men, that was the idea of what Jaimie gave the fans when she was first call up to the squad for the World Cup 62 qualification. Fast, agile and a good vision in her playing style. Despite not being the John Davis kind of player where tackling and speed are key to his game, Jaimie breaks the image of a traditional Maplish centre back with tackling being one of her weakness in play but her passes and clearances are one of the niche of her game to cover up for the lack of tackling that she is putting in. A young and energetic caliber in defence, she is an exciting prospect that has a long road ahead of her.

[ 5 ] - DL - Chong Mei Kei - Age 21 - New Portland Rovers ♀
A hugely dynamic presence in the defence in club, Mei Kei played her way towards New Portland after starting abroad awhile back, her huge promise and untapped potential mostly from the prospect of playing in the youth squads overseas impressed then manager Muain Newtons. He wasn't wrong in his selection though as she put in the effort and proved critics wrong. During the World Cup 62 qualification campaign she repaid the fate shown in her by Muain Newtons and earned a starting spot after a consistent performance during the preparation phrase of the qualification campaign. She did impressed Janette too during her selection phrase as her strong defensive approach outshone several defensive prospects that Janette has in mind.

[ 6 ] - RDM - Jessie Leons - Age 21 - New Portland Rovers ♀
Another promising female player from New Portland Rovers, a converted and all rounded player of her time and one of the youngest, she takes a liking on the legendary female player of all time, Maria Sarah, who was also an all round player of her kind. Used as a forward by Muain Newtons because of her speed and physical game despite being a female, she was also nominated for the Cup Of Harmony 54 Goal Of The Tournament. However through training and pre-WC preparation work, Janette has decided to put Jessie into the defensive midfield position in her master plan. A calm reader of the game and experience playmaker for her age, it was later decided that Jessie should be positioned at the lower half of the pitch to get the full view of the game, in which she was able to perform to her greatest potential during training sessions and it was proven with performances improving gradually.

[ 8 ] - LDM - Steven Johnson - Age 33 - Home United - CAPTAIN ♂
A solid, experienced and inspiring captain, as well as a player full of energy and enthusiasm. Taking on the armband from previous captain Peres De Oliver, the task of leading the country forward would be another great responsibility that he has to carry if not shoulder. For the Lions, the service of Johnson could long be felt since World Cup 57, where he put in his best under four managers namely, Sir Strellas Billy, Muain Newtons, Olenz Heinz and now Kristin Janette. The man in the engine room and the man in front of the defences, his presence in both areas took a great boost for both club and country. A good solid passer among others, the veteran has shown what he was up to when he made forwards shivered in front of his presence as he nudged them off the ball, a strengthen ball winner among others. A lion in both defence and attack, a libero and a deep lying playemaker to what defines him as a Maplish box to box midfielder.

[ 11 ] - CM - Steven Jerrard - Age 29 - River Park ♂
An inspiring figure of the game for both club and country however Muain was more inclined to select Peres De Oliver and Enkainia Lee in the middle position, whilst only putting Jerrard on the bench. Not many expected him to be in the starting lineup in Janette's plan. A driving force in the promotion of his club River Park, he was soon noticed by the national team scouts. Putting in match winning performances quietly in the middle of the play for his club isn't easy for him as the media soon caught hold of his ability and attention comes in, he was later given a call up soon after River Park got their promotion to the Premier League for the first time in their club history. Week in and week out, he put in consistent performances in matches and training and under the guidance of club manager Paterson, he became an important club figure but failed to impress Muain as he was mostly a bench warmer however he was more of a super substitute when getting a chance to play.

[ 10 ] - CAM - Di Natile - Age 25 - Golden Phoniex ♂
An inspiring captain for the U-21s in the past, as well as some impressive game changing performances for Muain in the previous World Cup qualification campaign, he was a key member of Golden Phoniex's first Premier League victory as they topped rivals Home United in a seven point thriller. A former member of the prestigious La Ademica, the youth academy of Home United, United must be kicking themselves up for letting Di Natile go for a hefty USD $37.5 million, which came as a bargain for them. Impressive performances at the wing in Muain's set-up, he was converted inwards as an all around attacking midfielder by Janette who can play anywhere up in front. His game changing performance against arch rivals Gyatso-kai could always be remembered as he took on the defences single handed before distributing an important pass to bag an assist. The upcoming campaign will give Di Natile a chance or two to perform.

[ 7 ] - CAM - Enkainia Lee - Age 21 - New Portland Rovers ♀
The forth player from New Portland Rovers to get a role in the squad by Janette. A talented quick and all rounded player to start with, she was first introduced to the team under the second reign of Muain Newtons. With her first World Cup qualification campaign in the WC 62 cycle. she has since been an important member of the Lions' squad having record some fanciful play in the middle of the pitch as part of the engine room in Muain's master plan. She has since never look back once as she top the list against other male competitors to her spot with her strong presence in her club side. Her idol was no doubt Maria Sarah an all rounded female legend who takes on the role of her female Francis Lee with her strength and energy in her playing style something that Enkainia models in her own playing style too.

[ 34 ] - CF - Alero Junio - Age 26 - Home United ♂
The man that single handedly took on defences and one of the most feared player of the Lions, he was in every set up and master plans of all different managers in his Lions' career. The front man of the pack, he is the Lions' goal poacher and main target man in every match, whether is it playing down on the left, right or in the centre of the play, he is always up to task. Modelling the playing style of Francis Lee, the all rounded male legend of Mapletish football, he is faster than he look and he rarely lets the ball slipped out from his foot as he is always close to it. His ability to surprise defenders and scare the opposition keeper with his strong shots are what makes him the most dangerous man in the Lions' squad. The man in front of the five men box in Janette's master plan, he will be more dangerous in the upcoming matches. Always wearing on the "34" jersey number on his back ever since he started playing football, it was a magic number for him like how "11" was to Francis Lee.

[ 12 ] - GK - Jimmy Truman - Age 24 - Super Reds ♂
An often overlooked keeper with lots of untapped potential was handed a chance by Janette in the Cup Of Harmony 54 for a chance to show himself and his impressive showing in goal showed his ability and potential that was often overlooked. One year older than the backup keeper of Oliver Kahner, age really didn't matter for him, as Truman showed to be a better penalty taker in recent training sessions. Unbeatable when challenging for the ball in the box, he was not only good in taking a penalty, he also has a great record in penalty shoot-outs and he might be one of the secondary keepers in the Lions' squad with the retirement of Oliver Kahner.

[ 14 ] - GK - Sapphire Avalon - Age 22 - New Portland Rovers ♀
The first choice keeper of New Portland Rovers, she was handed her chance to play in the World Cup 62 qualification campaign, with the introduction of female players into the squad to put in some "feminine energy" with more careful passes instead of risky passes that often went out of play and losing procession. Sapphire proved to be firm on her feet in front of goal as a gymnastic enthusiast as she put in highly acrobatic saves and reliable on goal. Really effective when playing against ultra attacking teams.

[ 15 ] - UD/DR - Irwin Shah - Age 26 - Portsmouth ♂
A utility defender who can play anywhere at the back, with a more preferred position as the right back, Irwin played his way through the youth academy of Portsmouth before featuring for them as a young academy graduate, a mere underestimated and overlooked player, he caught Muain's eye when he was doing his usual observation rounds in the training grounds and during matches. Further observations by Muain's scouts confirmed his stance and interest of putting Irwin into the team as he was later call up for the team. A speedy supporter on the wings and firm player in defence, he proves to be an efficient player whom Janette should put her trust on.

[ 16 ] - DC/DL - Joesph Danny - Age 22 - Woodlands United ♂
A young player called up to the team with performances in the Campeonato Rushmori Juvenil Sub-20, a leading figure in defence with the Mapletish U20 team leading the squad to some neat performances in the tournament although the team failed failed to progress anywhere further. Playing in the first team of Woodlands United, the youthful figure in defence was the answer to Woodlands United's objective of not conceding more than fifty goals in the league. Despite not called up for the DBC despite his consistent performance to his disappointment, he was eventually given a call up to the national team under Janette in her master plan.

[ 17 ] - UD/CDM - Nicole Natalie - Age 21 - New Portland Rovers ♀
The sixth New Portland Rovers player in the Lions' squad, Nicole is one of the few exciting players to come from the NPR's ranks. It came as no surprise for her as she has worked hard for the call up by Janette, partnering Jaimie and Mei Kei in defence back in NPR, they were an invincible force at the back as they would wind up defence into attack in support of the midfield and put on neat performances both in attack and in defence. A great passer at the back, her slim build was more than useful as her speed was largely unmatched by the players in the Mapletish Women's Premier League. Dangerous in the air too, corners and crosses from the flanks would be something easy for her to play in for.

[ 18 ] - CM - Janelle Elda - Age 21 - New Portland Rovers ♀
Whether is it favoritism or anything along that line, Janelle becomes the seventh NPR player to be in the Lions' squad. Usually paired with Enkainia in the midfield, both of them have raked up more passes then any other midfield pairings of the Mapletish Women's Premier League. An established player from the ranks of New Portland Rovers, she was first call up to the Lions' squad for the WC 62 qualification campaign. Known as the midfield domimo, she is a traditional centre midfielder, full of untapped potential, playing matches would be key for her development as a player.

[ 19 ] - CM/RM/LM - Diego Alvarez - Age 23 - Lumburg CV ♂
An important figure for Lumburg CV's promotion to the Premier League and an important figure in the Campeonato Rushmori Juvenil Sub-20, he is one of the most technically gifted midfielders in his team. Known of some excellent distribution of the ball, with the ability of picking out a team-mate with just a single touch of the ball, this quiet individual can often be seen practicing alone and letting his feet do the talking. However he tends to be a complacent player and a single mistake made in a game would affect his morale for many more matches to come. Not a very complete player in his own opinion, he was capable of making game changing performances under Muain's guidance. If the current midfield pair of Enkainia and Di Natile proves to be a good combination to the top of the five men box, you may well be seeing Alvarez idling on the bench.

[ 20 ] - CM/RW/CF - Dennis Long - Age 26 - Djax ♂
A driving force in the rise of Djax who are playing their trade in the lower divisions of Mapletish club football, Dennis was placed in the front row of many other players in the same position of him. The target man for Djax, he proved to be a very hardworking player often seen staying back after training and putting in the extra effort to train. After a takeover by mega-rich owners, Dennis sees a change in his footballing career as he becomes the highest paid player below the Football League, with a weekly salary of USD$35,000, which may well be the salary ceiling for some Championships clubs in the higher divisions. The most valuable asset of Djax, he is fast and nimble and a dangerous figure in the box, hitting in an amazing 105 goals in 42 games in the Sunday League averaging 2.5 goals every game. The unofficial highest number of goals scored in a single league season, beating Francis Lee's 80 league goals in 38 league matches by goal average and number of goals scored. First call up Olenz Heinz, it all proves to say that Heinz made the right choice of putting Dennis in the squad as he hit in 80% of the goals for Mapletish in CoH 52 as the Lions finished last in the group stage. Under Janette, Dennis might put in some game changing performance if called on in matches and that is what the Fireykop would be looking in for.

[ 21 ] - CF/ST/RF - JH Morison - Age 26 - East Lakers IV ♂
With a series of hugely impressive performances in the Premier League with East Lakers IV after falling out of favour in Home United after injuries plagued his stay in his childhood club, he has established himself as the lone striker of East Lakers IV's game with several fearsome and talented performances under his belt, he has established himself as a talented player however his inconsistency in delivering the goods are what keeps him on the bench all the time. though hardworking in training and a high attacking work rate, he often failed to deliver during matches misfiring shots. It all comes down to see which manager is able to put him in some kind of scoring form again or at least put him in a consistent form.

[ 22 ] - CF/LF/LW - Cirillo Remigio - Age 28 - Bury Town ♂
First selected by Heinz for the Cup Of Harmony 52, and blooded into the youthful and disciplined set up of Heinz and then assistant manager Esteban. He might be under performing in the international stage when first selected, but he was part of the driving force that put Bury Town into the Premier League for the first time in their history. Confident that Remigio would not miss the kind of attacking sense that he displayed in matches that impressed Janette, it would proved to be risky for Janette though like the kind of risk post to Heinz when he was first called up in the 52nd Cup Of Harmony. It all boils down to how Janette make use of his strengths.

[ 23 ] - CAM/RW/RF/CF - Kimberly Aurora - Age 21 - New Portland Rovers ♀
The eighth player from New Portland Rovers, Kimberly Aurora would make the entire Lions' squad complete with NPR's influence in the style of play if all the females in the Lions' squad play in one match, there would be a near complete team of NPR. Kimberly caught the eye of Janette when she was looking for female players to fit into her squad, a great pair with Jessie Leons in front of the play, the fearsome duo has dominated the game right in the Women's Premier League with some attractive playing style. Fast and agile on the run, Kimberly is full of stamina and can she would be able to run end to end for 120 minutes of play if needed, making her one of the fittest player in the master plan of Janette. She would well be able to form a partnership with Enkainia if needed if Di Natile doesn't seem to match up to Enkainia's style of play.

Player Roles
Captain : Steven Johnson
Vice-Captain : Glena Johnson
Direct Free Kick Taker : Alero Junio/Di Natile/Jessie Leons
Indirect Free Kick Taker : Steven Johnson/Jaimie Lim/Glena Johnson
Penalty Taker : Alero Junio/Steven Johnson/Jessie Leons
Right Corner : Steven Johnson/Chong Mei Kei/Enkainia Lee
Left Corner : Glena Johnson/Alero Junio/Jaimie Lim

TACTICS: "The Leones Da Spectrum" OR "The 4-2-1-2-1"
The Maplish game is fast, physical and highly procession keeping where short passes are played around the players. Fitness is key to the Maplish game where the game switches positions quickly and in an instance. With the players switching positions all the time, the players are tactically disciplined to begin with and cannot afford to take on the defence on his/her own or it might upset the balance of the play if not done properly. Despite that majority of the players are technically gifted with homegrown tricks here and there in the play. The centre of the play is considered to be the most important part of the Spectrum where a "five men box" is put into placed by the five interchanging midfielders. Commonly known as the engine room, any long balls or crosses are played out from either of the five players from the box. The five men box forms four triangles that re position when the play changes sides. The man in the centre of the "five men box" would be Steven Jerrard where all of the connecting passes to the attack would be play past to him. The two players behind the centre forward would the interchangeable attacking midfielders who can be used as an inverted winger to support the play from the wings or being an additional targeting support player. The defence is another crucial part of the spectrum, any quick counterattacking play would be played out through the wing backs who are always quick and on their toes. The quick pressing game of the defence puts opposition on pressure as the defence won't give you a second on the ball to think. In the Leones Spectrum, all players are expected to be able to play in all positions as all positions on the pitch are interdependent of each other and interchangeable of each other. It is some sort of a defensive 4-3-3 or a 4-2-3-1 or a 4-3-2-1, but it is a style of football where such interchangeable positions would be useful for the players. Any tired player would swap position to a less taxing role in play and recover, one of the tricks to the Spectrum playing style. So its the he Leones Da Spectrum or the Lions spectrum.

Coach

Martín Tejera
Once regarded as one of the very best goalkeepers in world football when he was one of many foreign stars plying their trade in Cafundéu. Former Sargossan international who cut his coaching teeth at home town club Estrella Torreón before leading Nuevo Onwere into the SuperLiga. That achievement earned him a move across the city to Sporting San Marquez, where he has masterminded successive title wins.

Assistant Coaches

Principal coaching staff remain, providing much needed continuity. Meaning Hernán Ojeda holds on to an assistant coach slot while Israel Navarro continues to work with the goalkeepers and Javier Valentín oversees the fitness work. But Tejera’s long-time collaborator Carlos Tesero is added to the back room team, as is his former international team mate Ernesto Farías who juggles senior squad duties with his current role as Under-21 coach.

Talent

GK: 1. José Antonio Leiva (36) - Scott City FC (Darmen)
Renowned locally as a safe pair of hands. A succession of consistent campaigns saw the keeper attract interest overseas and he's since headed for a new challenge in Darmen.
GK: 13. Cristian Deballa (33) - Dunas Del Sol
Boasts the fastest reflexes in the SuperLiga which would make him an instant starter were it not for the occasional devastating lapse in concentration.
GK: 25. Fernando Surza (34) - Jaguarés
Decent goalkeeper. Collects Koi Carp, which is nice.

DR: 2. Toni Siqueira (31) - Ciudad Soluca
Gallivanting right sided fallback with pace to burn and technique that comes from being half Cafundelense.
DRC: 5. Leandro Gonzàlez (27) - El Nacional
Former captain of the Under-21 side who has become an integral member of the senior squad. Has become the youngest El Nacional captain in their history.
DLC: 6. Matías Cardozo (28) – El Nacional
Snapped up from lower league Rayo Camei to form an imposing SuperLiga defensive partnership with Gonzàlez. A partnership former coach Erassi hoped to recreate for the national side.
DL: 3. Lautaro Formica (26) – Sporting San Marquez
The second son of Marquezian immigrants who couples sound defensive instincts with a wand of a left foot. Clocked up twelve goals from set pieces last season.
DC: 12: Juan Delgado (36) - Sporting San Marquez
One club man who is something of a legend in his native San Marquez. Few read the game better but he sprints like a someone wading through treacle.
DC: 14. Bruno Trejo (31) - Ciudad Soluca
A late bloomer who in the space of five years has gone from the third tier to become one of the nation's most accomplished defenders. But a shaky first season in Soluca has seen him drop down the pecking order.
DLC: 19. Luis Parra (32) - Scott City FC (Darmen)
Primarily a left back but has the attributes to fairly effortless drop into the centre, versatility much admired by the new coach.
DR: 21: Gonzalo Soriano (26) - El Nacional
Pacy rightback with a devil of a cross on him. Has a good understanding with club mate Gonzàlez and will push Siqueira hard for a starting berth.

DMC: 4. Lucas Ramís (25) – Sporting San Marquez
Key member of a Sporting side looking increasingly formidable in the SuperLiga.
AMR: 7. Andrés Guerrón (33) - Chastings Heights (Civil Citizenry)
Wing wizard with pace that wouldn't look out of place at the Olympics. The onus will be on him to push forward to support the big men up front.
MC: 8. Luís Ángel Landín (35) - Alianza Jucaro
Consistently one of the SuperLiga's most, well, consistent performers. Offers a neat and tidy range of passing and the ability to dictate the Corsairs' tempo.
AML: 11. Alejandro Echeverría (31) - Ciudad Soluca
This boy's a bit special and we're not talking in the crash helmet and crayons sense. Stick him anywhere in the attacking third and he can make something happen. Handed the captain's armband by Tejera.
AMRC: 15. Matías Montiel (31) - Vincanto (Erathore)
Ridiculously talented playmaker who hits a dream of a freekick and could conceivably thread a ball through the eye of a needle. Was just a little lightweight for Erassi's preferred blend of powerplay but could benefit greatly from the change in coach.
MRC: 16. Hugo Messina (34) - Alianza Jucaro
A consistent domestic performer with a neat array of passing and a passion for flamenco dancing. We're not sure how that helps.
MLC: 18. k**e Galán (24) – Sporting San Marquez
Miniature midfield dynamo whose influence in the centre often belies his diminutive stature.
DMC: 22. Ignacio Caballero (29) - Ciudad Soluca
A midfielder destroyer who fought off a tonne of attacking talent to take last season's SuperLiga player of the year award.
AMLC: 24. Sebastian Leto (32) - Sporting San Marquez
Scorer of last year's SuperLiga goal of the season, a 40 yard thunderbolt against Juventudé. Tricksy winger who provides left sided backup for Echeverría.

FLC: 9. Gelson Di Santo (21) – Ciudad Soluca
A real find from the Ciudad academy who scored nine goals in the final twelve league fixtures last season as his club lifted the title. Can play up front or wide on the left.
FC: 10. Alejandro Martinuccio (31) - Astograth University (Astograth)
A goal happy target man who has recently being doing the rounds of club football in Astograth. He’s now surfaced at domestic champions Astograth University. Which is much less confusing.
FC: 17. Mariano Estrada (24) – Sporting San Marquez
Twenty five goals last season says it all for the forward widely seen as the heir apparent to recently retired goal-getter Celso Esquivel.
FLC: 20. Carlos Montero (26) - Dínamo Maturín
The youth coaches at the Ciudad Deportiva are no strangers to unearthing gems and Carlos is the latest to excel for the Dínamo first team.
FRC: 23. Lucas Andrada (30) - Turoki Tide (Vilita)
A talented lad plucked from SuperLiga midtable obscurity by sharp eyed V-League scouts. Now plying his trade in Turoki after spells at Kiiarana and Yeaddin Owls. Helped his club to victory at the 40th Globe Cup and subsequent AlfaCredit Super Cup. Which probably constitutes a good season.

Style
A fluid 4-3-3 in possession, a more solid 4-5-1 without the ball. Probable starting eleven (Listed L to R)
Leiva -- Formica - Gonzàlez - Cardozo - Soriano -- Galán - Ramís - Montiel -- Echeverría - Estrada - Andrada

SUBs

GK: Forrest Smith - Untested goalkeeper, but consistent none the less. Hoping to get valuable game time.
CB: Carlos Henderson - A defender that likes to help in attacking moves and is very strong.
CB: Jack Jones - A solid defender, built like a tank, but very slow and often plays as a sweeper.
CM: Fentley Harbington - A defensive minded player, often helps out the back 4 and is a playmaker.
CM: Joe Forrester - A ball winner in the middle of the park and is able to create attacks out of nothing.
CF: Kros Haltberter - Able to finish hard chances, but is inconsistent. Able to hold off defenders.
