Manager's Report

The Serbian Empire does it again as we are 3-0 and one of 4 remaining undefeated teams in group play with a 13-12 win over Estope. The bad news is even though Bogusevic will return to play on Sunday that he claims to be at 85% of full health. Zupan produced 6 of the 13 goals today which is a stunning 46% of the goals. The Serbian Empire's team has the 6th best offense in the group of 32 and tied for 4th best on defense. The goaltending of Radic and Kasun have been exceptional and the defensive play otherwise has proven to be remarkably average when it was originally thought to be very questionable. We will rest Bogusevic tomorrow while the others practice offensive drills tomorrow to sharpen the potent offense. The rematch again Soviet Canuckistan is Sunday and they're probably raring to beat us as to prove that they are worthy of their #46 World Ranking against an unranked and undefeated Serbian Empire squad.

Polkopian Lacrosse Team First Place In Group Stage

<sup>Things are looking good for the Polkopian National Lacrosse Team, as the Mid-Group Stage takes hold. Having played three games, the Polkopian team is currently placed first out of four teams, and strives to maintain that lead as the team prepares to play their fourth game against Michael VII.

In their last three games, Polkopia has seen a strong win against Michael VII with an 19-11 lead. This game led to an early lead by Polkopia, placing the team first place out of the four teams. In their second game against Bloodbath Generation, the Polkopian team was not as lucky. Polkopia suffered a 18-15 loss, bumping Polkopia to third place, trailing behind Bloodbath Generation, and Cyborg Holland. The team was able to pull through in their third game against Cyborg Holland with a strong 15-10 lead, placing Polkopia, once again, to first place in their box.

Will the Polkopian Lacrosse team manage to keep their strong lead and move on to the Round of Sixteen? Or will the team fall short? It all begins again on December 16th. Stay tuned!</sup>

It had to end sometime...

Disappointment. That was the look in the team's eyes after they lost their first game.

After a strong showing in their first two games, the Eagles dropped the third game in a last second nail-biter. The Eagles tied the game up 18-18 with 10 seconds left. Confident that the game would go into overtime, the young team was caught off-guard when a Captain Matthew Paul lost the face off, and a fast break ensued. The Farfadillis team then finished up the goal with a nice flurry of passing and shooting.

"I feel like it's my fault." said the captain. "I expected my opponent to do something else, and it caught me completely off guard."

"These are the kinds of games you hate to lose" said the coach "Especially when we worked so hard."

The Eagles will be hoping to get back on track next game, and remain in the top two in the group.

Strong defending ousts Anollasia.

Marsilius Gauthier got his first start of the WLC in the game against Anollasia and it turned out to be a tactical masterstroke from Milo Tyrella who put the midfielder in instead of Haftor Bu and it worked out so well, Gauthier forcing 4 turnovers in possession over the course of the game - all of which resulted in goals for the Mytanar team. Gauthier was truly key in this team and his defensive style really was key as him and Sannes played well together, both of course playing together domestically for the Origin team.

Tyson Ménard had an impressive day in front of goal with 5 goals (7 points on the day, with two assists), the best of which was an incredible effort which snuck under the goaltender's body, the accuracy was quite outstanding. It seemingly was a good decision by Tyrella to persuade Ménard to play for the Mytanar team in this World Lacrosse Championship as it means he can no longer play for Cotdelapoms, who would really have needed someone like Ménard if they had still been involved in international level lacrosse.

Mytannion sit second in the group with 6 points, equal with Mapletish who are only first due to the head-to-head tiebreaker - something which the Mytanar team want to turn around during the second half of the group stag. That will be pivotal in terms of the seeding going into the knockout rounds; it could be the difference between a so called 'easy' or 'difficult' game in the Last Sixteen.

Next up for Mytannion is Mapletish again, it is the most important game in the group stage for them thus far as they hope to turnover the head-to-head tiebreaker that is currently keeping them in 2nd place in the group.

Manager's Report

The Serbian Empire continues it's winning streak and Bogusevic has said that his break from practice was necessary and he was able to play most of the match which The Serbian Empire won 15-12. The offensive practice did yield a few extra goals in this match when compared to Friday's game against Estope. We have the most potent offense of the remaining undefeated teams and have clinched a spot in the round of 16. Zupan returned to the bench for the most part and failed to score a goal for the first time in her career in international play. Of course, when Bogusevic scored 5 times and is healthy that means Tihana won't play much as he is a more balanced player overall able to both shoot and make plays for others. Radic played the entire game this time as the margin of error and strength of opponent was high enough to warrant playing all game. A match against the hapless Afrinesia team is tomorrow's match up. We need to score more on them 13 goals will not be enough against Cyborg Holland or Polkopia who both have a more potent offense and we will likely meet in the Quarterfinals based on the success of defeating Soviet Canuckistan twice. We must win this match to have a more favorable matchup against a team with weaker defenses.

Manager's Report

The Serbian Empire is now one of two remaining undefeated teams in the tournament. The 16-10 win over Afrinesia was exactly what was needed. The defense is now the second best defense in the tournament in the group stage. Most interesting to me as manager is the strange position of the world's number one team Civil Citizenry being in a three way tie for first place in Group E but they have a points margin that is a very strong +14, they may be beatable but they are losing the games close and winning big. We haven't seen a loss in Group Play and have a +18 points margin. I would seriously hope to see them lose or at least win big enough that their #1 ranking isn't so questionable. We must continue to improve the offense against Estope as they provided the narrowest margin of victory and I don't want to have to bite my nails in this match unlike last time where it was a 13 to 12 win. We have shown the world that we are not afraid of nothing.

Polkopia Lacrosse Team To Qualify For Round of 16

The Allied States of Polkopia, along with Cyborg Holland, has qualified have finished in the top two in Group D, and will therefore qualify for the Round of 16. Polkopia defeated Bloodbath Generation in a 20-14 match, securing the top two spots for Polkopia.

Polkopian capitain and attacker, Igor Ianov commented on the determination of the Polkopian team. "We have a very strong team, and these last few games have proved it. It's all a matter of teamwork and determination. If you want something, you'll have to fight hard for it." When asked who was the most important player of the team, Ianov stated, "There is no single important player. We all contribute. Nobody does more than another while we play, although we always strive to do our best."

Manager's Report

#1 seeding in the tournament and undefeated in Group play for the Serbian Empire. The win (20-9 over Estope) in the last round got us the number #1 seed and was very impressive. Unfortunately, the world's #1 is an unlikely #8 seed based on their play and will be more likely than not in the Quarterfinals. Of course, defeating them would be a certain championship win as they are the historic best team in the world and are very dangerous. It's a rematch of the opening round of the tournament and the day after the rest day for the first game in the round of 16. Soviet Canuckistan has lost to us both times in group play and in most other brackets would be lucky to have survived at this point but even now they are a serious threat as they could rely on the other teams being bad in group play and may have played lightly just to keep everything hidden. They may be ranked but the play from them has been underwhelming. We shall keep practicing offensively in hopes of being able to keep pace with the world's number #1 ranked team who probably considers themselves an embarrassment with an 8th seed in the knock-out tournament which is a far cry from the best team and world champion. However, we are still unranked and even with defeating them have a long ways to go to be as widely respected and are barely worthy of being #40 in the world rankings. I know we might have this game won pretty much from the start, but the bad news is that we're likely to run into the underachieving and immensely powerful #1 Civil Citizenry team in the next round. An underachieving opponent is a good thing to see, until you know that in the last tournament they were the world champion and ranked the best in the world. Taking them easy would be a path to one's doom in this tournament even now when they're a lowly #8 seed.

Games Hosting: Final
The brand new National Lacrosse Centre is a facility that is hoped to bring back the good days of Mytanar lacrosse, where the team dominated the world and had the most watched domestic league, the MCUL. The stadium is set in acres of open greenery, with practice pitches for all ages from under-13 upwards to try and bring through the next generation of lax bros. The stadium itself is a modern glass and concrete affair with two safe-standing sections and the two sidelines being all-seated. An older stadium but one which was designed to bring money into one of the most deprived areas of the country. It isn't as big a facility but the fans here are loud and passionate about the sport and will make games difficult for players from any team that isn't Mytannion. It didn't do exactly what it was intended to in Zenit Toranj but it is still a nice place to play some lacrosse.

Aliev Lacrosse Stadium, Votavova District, Esca (Capacity, 9,000).

This stadium will give visitors an insight into Mytanar life as they visit another deprived area, but one which is so much more obviously so. This stadium is wedged right in between the homes of lots of Mytanars, the people who live around it are very poor and often labourers who work in some of the most dire conditions in the country. Don't get on the wrong side of them. The stadium is named after the hero of the revolution, Isaiya Aliev. The man who brought Tolikism back into Mytannion.

Rotakovski Park, Centralni, Miago (Capacity, 7,500).
Games Hosting: Last Sixteen Game 3, Game 8. Quarter Final 3.
A really old-fashioned ground, originally designed for football (soccer) and has been converted into a lacrosse stadium. The field is slightly oddly shaped because of this transition from football pitch to lacrosse field and that could be an interesting problem for the players who get to play here. The stadium offers outstanding views down the River Tychek, which it is sat right on.

Vydra Arena, Hajnal, Ebor (Capacity, 5,000).
Games Hosting: Last Sixteen Game 4. Quarter Final 4.
This is interesting in that it is a dome, field lacrosse is meant to be played outdoors but this is an outdoor field inside. There was much controversy when this was used in the MCUL because of this reason, sure, it is an outdoor field but it is inside! So is it box or field lacrosse? It is hoped this controversy won't pass over to the WLC. The fact it is a dome could be a blessing for the players as they will be shielded from the Ebor elements, the cold, the wind, the frost, all of it will have no effect - they're inside.

Istocna Obala Stadium, Ast, Istocna Obala (Capacity, 2,500).
Game Hosting: Last Sixteen Game 5.
It could be difficult for passes and shots to be accurate in Istocna Obala, this is one of the windiest places in Mytannion (and we're not talking about farts). This stadium is also used for all sports played in Istocna Obala, so the field quality isn't the best, with the field often being muddy and the cause of injury. It could pose problems for players in this WLC.

I am impressed by 19-14 win over Soviet Canuckistan as this is our third win over an Internationally ranked team in this tournament even if it was same #46 team each time. We even out scored the #8 seed and former World Champion, Civil Citizenry. However, we can't take them lightly as they are much higher ranked than Soviet Canuckistan and I would say this is the first game since the first matchup against Soviet Canuckistan where I think we actually have a chance to lose. I am sure that the winner of this matchup will the champion however. Must keep the offensive pressure up, it's gotten us this far.

Manager's Report

We have done the unthinkable, defeated the previous world champion 18-11. The next series of opponents may be weaker but there is no resting on our laurels, especially as they were underachieving by a significant margin as a #8 seed. Some of the players asked me if this was merely a dream and I was proud to tell them that beating the world champion from the last tournament was no dream at all. We have done the ultimate upset, winning 8 games in a row with half of them ranked globally. Of course, this is time for celebration but we have two more teams to beat if we want the championship and we must keep the pressure going with offensive force. It has beaten the world champion of just a tournament ago. Slembana is a 13 seed, which means they were rather average in the tournament group play but they're still a threat as they have to be at least pretty decent to have gotten this far. Remember keep the offense pressure up and that we are not afraid of nothing!

Manager's Report

This is exactly what the fans wanted to see with Mytannion making the final round to play in the championship and The Serbian Empire appears in their first time in a tournament at all into the championship round having won every game they have played in the tournament so far. The bad news is that this will be noisy and possibly a challenge to win, but they aren't as high of a seed as Civil Citizenry nor as highly ranked in the global standings as we have beaten the previous World Champion in this very place. I think we will need keep doing what we have been doing with offense and focus the last practice with defensive practice with the goaltenders as Slembana was able to keep pace for most of the game even though we won 19-17. This game isn't as much in doubt about who will win as much as by how much and if the Mytannion team can keep up with us offensively. Win or lose, we have beaten the former champion and will be ranked in on the global rankings in the World Lacrosse Championships 15 which is a lot better than being an internationally unranked mystery team. I think this game is certainly winnable as Mytannion is not as powerful as Civil Citizenry in either rank or offensive production. Of course, they do have a very strong defense which is the threat from them. We have the offensive firepower to overtop even the best defenses but their offense is just potent enough to appear as average making them a strong team. We have proven ourselves to be stronger by strength of tournament schedule by defeating #46 Soviet Canuckistan three times and defeating the world #1 Civil Citizenry in the Quarterfinals. How much stronger are we than them is to be determined as is the crowd noise which we haven't seen in such levels since playing in Partizan Stadium in Beograd against the LC Partizan team back home.

We won 15-6... Beat two former world Champions, one from the last tournament and the other making a return to the competitive scene. The future is bright for the Serbian Empire's National Lacrosse Program and has the claim of being the Invincibles in this particular tournament. I hope that we can match this success in the next tournament, but I know that others will try to pry the title from our fingers. We were not afraid of nothing and it took us to the highest levels. Now time to pop the bottles of celebratory champagne as I have enjoyed my Gatorade bath.
