The Effingian Parliament officially passes the Television Decency Act, which grants the government total control over television shows. Polls show that this law is extremely unpopular with the public. Due to the four year election system, the public can do little about it.

The Effingian Parliament officially passes the Teorija Act, which removes term limits, allows those in office to vote, and allows people to sell their votes to other people. The law also grants corporations the right to vote. Polls show that this law is extremely unpopular with the public. Due to the four year election system, the public can do little about it.

The Effingian Parliament election day. Every person formerly in Parliament remained, with the entire house staying exactly the same. Vote counts were almost eight times higher than the amount of people in the nation. The general public is outraged, but they can't do anything...ever. In four years there will be another election, but the result is likely to be the same.

Protests begin. The first ever protest of government in Effingia occurs outside the Effinigia Galvena, also known as the Parliament building. Roughly 800 people show up at the building demanding the repeal of the Teorija Act.
December 14, 2012
Roughly 3,500 people protest the Teorija Act. One of them starts to climb the stairs of the Galvena, and is shot in the chest by one of the guards. The protesters begin to attack the guards. By the end of the day, 683 civilians and two guards had died.
Later that day, a petition it sent to the Parliament to repeal the Teorija Act. It has exactly 220,007 signatures. Parliament officially announces that they will not act.
December 15, 2012
Roughly 10,000 people demanded that the Parliament pass a law allowing the people to directly vote on every law. Police opened fire upon the group, killing over 1,000 innocent civilians. The rest of the protesters stormed the Galvena, destroying property and ultimately kidnapping President Leļļu. Total deaths for the day were over 6,000 civilians, but only four police.
Later that day, a group of revolutionaries meet for the first time. They are brought together by a man named Koralis Portral, and there are a total of 36 meeting. They declare that Parliament is corrupt, that President Leļļu is a puppet, and that the only way to have order in Effingia is to revolt. Each of the men were given an AKM, and told to spread the word of revolution.
