We fear the usual things common to all sentient beings , but we master our fear rather than letting it master us.

The only thing we have to fear is fear itself.

Fear that has not been mastered will cripple a soldier's effectiveness, However a fear that has been mastered will motivate a soldier to greater levels of efficiency, even though the fear itself still exists it has been channeled into purposeful action.

And a person that fears nothing is not brave, they are either insane or too stupid to understand their situation.

The Knights of Purity. A group of religious nuts that abduct any intelligent beings that aren't human and take them into death camps where they are killed and tortured in the most painful ways imaginable, and about 96% of my nation's population isn't human. It isn't a huge problem, but the tiny percentage of people getting abducted is still enough to get everyone scared.

Our citizens fear throwing stuff away, which is why hoarding is a common issue here. Also, our authoritarian neighbors, the USSR Natureland. We aren't scared of them per se, but we see them as a danger to us, due to their size and military strength.

Years of civil war has caused a lot of fear and distrust between the varying peoples of Rango Mango.

In short people fear each other, and they fear people from other villages or outsiders - who may be Christian extremists come to kidnap their children, Islamic extremists come to blow them up, or government forces who have come to sieze their belongings.
