L to R: Besoitaormachea, Berrataran, Yasua, Elorriaga
Ager Besoitaormachea
One of the two most respected Iturributan officials, Besoitaormachea strongly believes that the less noticeable the referee, the better. He prefers to carry on with play and discuss things later, and is loath to book players for minor infractions such as shirt removal when celebrating. Often seen as "Iturributa United's referee" in the domest league, though any such accusations are mainly unfounded. Permanently in conflict with the more controversial Berrataran, with whom he alternates Iturributan Derbies and President's Cup finals as the two best-rated referees in the Free Republic.
Fredrik Berrataran
A completely by-the-book referee, Berrataran has no particular affection for cards but deals them out generously, believing strongly in punishment as the only way to ensure a fair game; it is not rare at all for a deliberate but harmless halfway line handball to receive a yellow card. Has a strong personality and will confront any players or staff who step out of line; dissent has been the cause of many controversial red cards. Needless to say, he is a complete stickler for penalties, demanding retakes until everything is perfect. Often seen as "Sporting Iturributa's referee", though there is no solid basis for such accusations. Permanently in conflict with the more passive Besoitaormachea, with whom he alternates Iturributan Derbies and President's Cup finals as the two best-rated referees in the Free Republic.
Marin Yasua
A faithful but misguided follower of Berrataran's, Yasua's officiating is more about placing him in the centre of attention rather than ensuring as fair a match as possible. Hands out cards almost out of necessity, setting all the records in the Iturributan Premier Division, and is repeatedly reprimanded by the FIF for appearing on talk shows and magazine interviews. Joke of a referee as far as that goes, but at least he makes an effort to stay fit and is fairly sharp with close calls.
Oinaz Elorriaga
Has the least international experience of the four, though that should soon be remedied. What probably won't be so easy to fix will be his temper, as he can easily lose control not just of the match but of himself when made to officiate rough encounters. His mercurial temperament means he will often take an active dislike for home fans and their verbal abuse, which results in him statistically favouring the away team.
