I have a 40's leather jacket, some Cheetos, playing cards, an automatic weapon, and two bean bag chairs (one is half-torn).

Soon the Mayans will be shown up for what they truly were. Incorrect. They needed more precision. If anyone knows when the world will end it would be them Swiz. They are good with time pieces, so they must be right, and they have that halogen collider.

I find the idea doubtful. Granted, anything is possible, but there is nothing right now that meakes me think that the world will come to an end within the next 2 months.

Actually, from what I heard, the Mayans themselves either do not care about the supposed "prophecy" or do not even know about it. And they should know, shouldn't they?

Fact: every single inscription the Mayas ever produced with the Long Count is purely descriptive. There is nothing prophecising the future anywhere. They didn't care about doing that.

Aside from the poorly-phrased thread title, it's not really a meaningful question. If it does, it does, and preparing is pointless; there's nothing we can do about it. If it doesn't, it doesn't, and preparing is pointless. There's still nothing we can do about it, since we don't have the power to wipe out much more than most life on Earth and most people agree that this isn't a good goal.

Even if the Mayans had predicted the world as ending soon (others have already shown how this is not the case), what would make their beliefs more valid than those of any other group through history, all of whom have been wrong as far as we can tell.
