The Brevity Challenge Cup 3
Rosters/RP/Results

Welcome

Welcome to Wight and the Third Brevity Challenge Cup. This is your IC thread for rosters and role-playing, and the thread where results and challenges will be posted.

Before you post rosters, you should read the note on challenges next, and also read the roster challenge, in the third post. Both will be updated shortly.

Discussion Thread.
Nation Information.
Roster Challenge.

The Challenges & RP Bonus

RP bonuses will be reset after each match - you have to rise to the challenge with every game. Speaking of which...

Starting with the roster, every RP can respond to a small collection of challenges set each matchday when the RP bonuses are reset. Of course, you can ignore them completely, and there will be a minimum bonus just for posting. But to do well, consider the challenges. Bonuses can be had for a challenge met, and more so for creative interpretations - this is hopefully an opportunity to draw a bit of inspiration and to play with the written word. There will always be a number of challenges on offer, but all will expire after one matchday (at least in terms of bonuses, not to say you can't still use them to assist you).

Firstly, this is the Brevity Challenge Cup, so there is a word limit. 50 words. And usually, the bonus will only be for 50 words precisely - but keep an eye on the challenges, because there may be variations.

There will also be a limit of one RP between matches.

Do smilies count? They most certainly do - against you. Being literary puritans, smilies are illegal in Wight. So use of smilies may cost you your bonus...

Extra bonuses will be awarded for the various challenges that will be set. This time around, following discussions and feedback, challenges will impinge far less on your allocated word count.

Always feel free to fire questions at me via TG or in the OOC. Don't forget that you can also submit challenges to me via TG and I will try to incorporate them in the following rounds. Please send your challenge ideas to my puppet Kukalaya.

Format & Schedule

Group draw will be on Sunday, 30 September, 10pm-Midnight GMT
RP cut-off will be 10pm-Midnight GMT.
Scorination with Xkoranate 0.3.3 SQIS with a generous RP bonus effect.

Group Stage
MD1 - Tuesday 2 October
MD2 - Thursday 4 October
MD3 - Saturday 6 October

With 24 teams, there will be a guaranteed three-match post-group stage knockout. All teams will qualify for a bracket and each team will be guaranteed three games in the knockout stages. Teams will go into the following brackets:

Brevity Challenge Cup Bracket: Six group winners, plus two best runners-up. Tie-breakers will be points, goal difference, goals scored and if still tied, by random draw.
Glass Bowl Bracket: Next four group runners-up, plus four best third placed teams.
Copper Plate Bracket: Next two third placed teams, plus all fourth place teams.

There will be a random draw for each bracket's quarter-final knockout ties. In each bracket of eight, the four winners will procede to a semi-final and final or third-place playoff, while the four losers will also procede to a losers semi and final/third-place play-off. There will be a selection of minor trinkets available for various finals. All teams who come away without winning a trophy will get a consolation Pewter Spoon, while the team that finishes last overall will win the highly toxic coveted Uranium Rod.

Knockout Stage
Quarters - Monday 8 October
Semis - Wednesday 10 October
Finals - Friday 12 October
Semi-final losers will play in a third-paced play-off for their bracket.

The Rankings

To give some weight - but not too much - to the established order of things, teams will receive a ranking based on the most up-to-date KPB available - post-61 - simplified by dividing up the KPB into brackets of ten and giving a rank dependent on which bracket a team currently resides in - anyone below 90th gets the minimum rank.

National Information - Wight

Postby Wight » Fri Sep 28, 2012 1:33 pm

Wight Information

The small volcanic island archipelago of Wight in AO is in fact an approximate scale copy – or interpretation might be a better word – of the Uncertain Dimensions in which Búa lives. Before a catastrophic earthquake destroyed much of the land and sculpted out new dramatic features, the empty landmass of Köselî Cumhuriyetler was once home to a turkish empire, since gone to dust. Locals often refer to this version of Wight as Simulacra or The Broken Islands.

The country is governed by a benevolent dictator, Jean Baptiste, recently elected by a 100% margin with no opposition candidates and a 0.001% voter turnout. The election flyers didn't arrive back from the printers in time to let the public know there was going to be an election, so only the printer and a couple of his employees actually voted.

The population of the archipelago is recorded at 230,023. Most of the mountainous and volcanic interior of the main Wightling landmass is unpopulated apart from the town of Campus and several small hamlets. 97% of the population live on the coast and surrounding islands. The capital Spit is the only designated city, with a population of around 50,000 or nearly a quarter of the entire population.

Wight recently struck a strategic alliance with one of the region's superpowers, giving over a large area of land on the southerly island of Wath to the military forces of Andossa Se Mitrin Vega, in exchange for a peppercorn per year in perpetuity as rent and vigorous defence of the islands in times of conflict. ASMV is presently constructing facilities for a large combined forces base including harbour, fortified town and airstrip.

Image

Wight has a long and proud tradition of being enthusiastic but not very good at football, although in recent years, back-to-back semi-final appearances in the AOCAF championships, two Cup of Harmony semi-finals and four consecutive winning World Cup qualification campaigns (if ultimately failing to qualify in each) suggests the Wightlings may be breaking from that tradition. Football is still strictly amateur in the broken islands.

Stadia

Being a small nation coping with the clean-up of the devastating Wight Catastrophe, and playing amateur football, the stadia are on the modest side, to say the least. Only the Tricorn Arena, the recently constructed national stadium built for hosting a number of Turori's Cup of Harmony matches, is approaching international standard. Matches are likely to be well attended by the locals, so it will be common for the capacities to be reached. In some cases, capacities are only estimated as grounds are made up of natural features which might host any number of enthusiastic supporters, skilled climbers, and mountain goats.

Tricorn Arena, in Spit
home of Spit City
Capacity 25,023
Image
Built by infamously drab Polarian architect Jens Christiansen, an additional jerry-rigged temporary stand for 8,000 additional spectators was burned down by Kinitarian fans during Cup of Harmony 53.

Spit Leisure Centre, in Spit
home of Looe Sewage Works & Penchant Wanderers
Capacity 5,310
Image
Formerly the home of Spit City before they moved to the national stadium, the Lezzy, as it is known, is in the Looe district of the city.

Municipal Sports Centre, in Despite
home of Despite Palace & Azarbaycan FC
Capacity 12,908
Image
Before the construction of the national arena this was the largest stadium in the country, hosting the town's two league teams. The view here is the smaller north stand, with the Despite hills behind.

Baffins Pond, in Pompeii
home of AFC Portsmouth & Moneyfields
Capacity 6,751
Image
Overlooking the natural harbour of Baffins Pond, the stadium of the same name has a large natural embankment to one side and conservative estimates put the potential capacity at 20,000 if there are enough intrepid climbers sufficiently enthused.

Promontory Grounds, in Whelm
home of AFC Whelm
Capacity 4,095
Image
It would take quite a climber to scale 'The Wall', as the west side of the ground is called, and yet some do. These hardcore fans are called the Whelm Goats.

St. David's Playing Fields, in Icke
home of Icke City Turques
Capacity 6,400
Image
A tidy ground in Icke with a decent capacity by Wightling standards, this is perhaps the closest thing to the common experience of travelling football fans, lacking the absurdity of most Wightling football grounds.

Pond Hills Lane, in Arnold
home of Arnold Bedsit Rovers & Arnold Labour Club
Capacity 3,856
Image
With no stands to speak of and most of the spectator points on the rocky outcrops surrounding the pitch (unless you have a boat), this is perhaps the most challenging ground for the average pro international player – the changing rooms are in the red house on the promontory. Liable to flood in bad weather.

Manor Farm, in Ardlussa, Orwell Island
home of 1984FC
Capacity 3,926
Image
On an island populated mostly by a Wightling tribe of anthropomorphic pigs, Manor Farm is perhaps one of the most scenic grounds, although unrelentingly windy. Capacity, as with Pond Hills, seems completely arbitrary and as many as 15,000 might actually find accommodation on the surrounding hills.

Constantinople Crescent Community Complex, in Iskander, South Wath
home of Iskander Turkish Memorial
Capacity 7,682
Image
With a mix of constructed seating areas and grass banks that surround three sides of the ground, this will be the base for ASMV as authorities look to cash in on the military forces from nearby Sa Tu'urk militarised zone.

The Exercise Yard, on Le Tissier Island
home of FC.60 Le Tissier Penal Colony
Capacity 6,718
Image
Unremittingly bleak, the prison island that houses the sinners of Wight (usually incarcerated for being bored, or ordinary, or sanctimonious, or behaving like an elf) is home to the best team in the broken islands. But it's miserable to play here, with only the prisoners for company.

The Village Common, in Stockett
home of Stockett Friday Afternoon FC, Stocket Sunday Athletic & others
Capacity 1,677
Image
A planned temporary stand for 3,000 spectators failed to materialise when the local village council refuse planning permission to the Broken Islands FA. Embarrassing.

Giant's Well, in Inferno, Dante Archipelago
home of Lucifero FC
Capacity 9,209 (some restricted views)
Image
There is no getting away from it, Giant's Well is a hole in the ground. Spectators view from balconies, cave windows, and around the top of the hole. It get's rather packed, the atmosphere is tremendous, but the pitch is permanently in a terrible condition, a bit like the San Siro.

BCC-3 Roster Challenge

Postby Wight » Fri Sep 28, 2012 1:33 pm

Roster Challenge

There is no word limit on the roster and you are advised generally to make your roster in your usual style. RP bonus points are on offer for the roster, and will be your only bonus before MD1 – so as promised, this being a low-rent tournament - no RP is required between roster and first result. If you do RP, it won't get you extra points. And if you do RP, try to keep it in the spirit of the cup, i.e. short: fifty words max.

There is one challenge for your roster submission, based on your playing style and tactical ideas. You are permitted as always to choose your own skill modifier, from -5 to +5. However, you are also required to pick one of the five Oblique Strategies, listed below, as your initial tactical plan. Note that further strategies will become available to you with each round of games.

To score extra bonus on the roster challenge, complete a maximum fifty word explanation of your selected Oblique Strategy.

I will be using wordcounttool* to check your word counts, and their definition will be the official tournament definition, so it is worth using that to check your numbers. Posting how many words you wrote will count towards your total, by the way!

*Whilst midway through BCC-2 this tool went offline, causing one or two issues, I have been testing it today and it seems stable again. I have returned to this one because the others we tried during the last tournament proved unreliable or inconsistent in their counting.

Rank Yourself!

The rankings are based on the latest publish KPB rankings, and simplified into brackets of ten. So teams in the top ten get 10 ranking points, in positions 11-20 get 9 points, 21-30 get 8 and so on. Everyone from 91 down gets 1 point. But ask yourself, if you are sending a trial team of fringe players to test out for the world cup, would they be as good as your first team? If not, what bracket would you put them in? If they are pie-eating TV competition winners, would they be ranked any higher than 1? I'm leaving it up to you. If they are your first team or you think they are as good as your first team, then the rank you already have reflects that - you can't go higher. But you can rank them lower, if you want. For fun. Include it with your roster. If you do not indicate a new rank, you'll get the one indicated in the OP by default.

Oblique Strategies

Oblique Strategies, originally presented as a pack of cards, were developed by Brian Eno and Peter Schmidt. Each Oblique Strategy is a phrase or cryptic remark which can be used to break a creative deadlock or dilemma situation. There are presently five published editions.

I have used joshharrison's website to randomly grab these five.

Your starting strategies (pick one as your tactics):

What would your closest friend do?

Don't be afraid of things because they're easy to do.

Where's the edge? Where does the frame start?

Which parts can be grouped?

Ask your body.

Challenge Submission

As with the previous tournament, I positively encourage participants to set challenges, and the most efficient way to do this is by sending them to me at Kukalaya rather than on the discussion thread, so that people don't have time to prepare for them! All part of the mischief fun...

All I ask is that challenges are in keeping with the general ambience of the tournament: principally, that they do not make a heavy writing demand on participants. Of course they can be brain-benders, as challenging as you like, but I've promised no-one has to write War & Peace at the Brevity, and I'd like to keep it that way.

In previous editions I have managed to accommodate all challenges, I would hope to do so again. So feel free to TG me.

I look forward to seeing the rosters... First matchday is Tuesday – good luck all.

Style +2

We have various factbook pages for team history and notes, individual statistics and fun facts, and other characters.

Which parts can be grouped? Ines Rebuelta will test different combinations of players to see who works best together for the upcoming World Cup and qualifiers. Everyone will start a match or two, but not alongside the same people both times, and halftime substitutions will allow for even more possibilities.

Manager: Ines Rebuelta* (First WC: 61)

Goalkeepers:
1. Gabriel Asprilla (ICD Villago) (First WC: 59**)
12. Amado Girón (AC Mineros) (First WC: 61**)

11. Arturo Benavides (Alianza Ciruelas) (First WC: 61)
21. Juan Mario Pedroso (Blén CA) (First WC: 61)
22. Alfonso Ordoñez (Deportivo Peralta) (first tournament)

*: female
**: debuted at Brevity Challenge Cup 1 (pre-WC59; some of those players joined the full team immediately but others weren't called up until WC61)

Formation: they're more or less all playing at some point, so whatever.

My opponents, if they RP first, can do whatever they want.

Athletic sports chatter, live! No idioms!

"Will moody, willful Fabian Banderas have a place in this team?"
"He should quit soon before he blows up once more."

"Bribes for idiot refs?'
"We'll be upset, get swept, but not this. We're total sports."

"We're kitted in green outfits."

"Props to our coach for winning many games well last time."

ASMV World Cup 62 Roster and Information

You can do anything you like short of killing off players

Squad Name: Sea Dragons

Home Pitch: Stadii se Draggonnii Arcea
Image

Colors: Deep Sky Blue & Yellow[b]
Image

Style: [b]Tidal Surge 3-2-2-1-2
(-2 defensive)

*

About the Tidal Surge
The Tidal Surge formation is a hybrid style that makes use of athleticism in key “flex” positions that allow the formation to ebb and flow between styles to take advantage of personnel match-ups and break opportunities. At any point in the match the Tidal Surge can more remind viewers and opponents of a 5-3-3 (most often) or a 3 4-3 (least often) but can usually be found flexing in between those extremes.
Three key positions make this formation work. The offensive midfielder with which everyone is familiar and the two hybrid positions called “UP” backs. These two positions are a direct cross between center midfielders and outside backs. These two positions use athletic ability to move up and down the pitch changing the formation to fit the needs of current needs. Thus at any one moment the formation can resemble anything from a 3-4-3 to a 3-5-2 to a 5-3-2 creating, quite nearly, the perfect positions for almost any situation.

Other style notes:
“Smashmouth Footy”. That is how the Sea Dragons play when at their best. They prefer the motto “Hit First, Ask Forgiveness Later” and yet they have become adept enough as to remain just on the safe side of the cards so many other squads get. When you play the Sea Dragons two truths are evident - 1: You had better be ready to play tough and 2: you had better be ready for rough play.

Coaching Staff

Manager: Kymykera Wu’eres Age:53
Twice in the past three World Cup adventures, Kymy has guided the Sea Dragons to two third place finishes and by far their best ever KPB ranking at #2. Two previous legends at the manager position, Mace Kinoz’gh and Pao St Martinique, had only dreamed of such greatness. The challenge for Kymy now becomes proving to the world that her squad deserves the ranking and possibly finally breaking through with a World Cup Championship.

Offensive Asst: Seyai At’roluii Age:31
Gone are the legendary goal scorers of late as Jonasei, Rainu, and Jahirri have all ridden off into their own sunsets. But one gets the impression that this starting pair of Sea Dragon forwards in the form of Jaqinze and Banjuru are ready to mae a real name for themselves and could even rival the scoring of historic icons Pablo Iglesias and Porche Alexander. Seyai will work hard to make sure that no opportunity is missed.

Midfield Asst: Nonari Em'ran'oz Age:49
Nonari was the coaching staff find that the Sea Dragons had been searching for. Finally the center of the pitch was not a liability in WC 58 and has been brilliant since. Now it is key that the improvements continue as the Sea Dragons attempt to copy their third place showing.

Defenders Asst: Laia Un’jeru’betcii Age:41
Like Kymy before her, Laia has made the jump from world class player to successful coach. Her fire and tenacity off the pitch will hopefully translate to a continued on the pitch success for her defense. Also listed as a resrve, Laia could find herself playing before this run is over if injuries occur or new talent does not develop quickly.

Goalkeeper Asst Koyinii Os'ina Age:47
Few position coaches are as lucky as Koyinii as Sanlioch as emerged as an All-World keeper and Ban’engo could start for more than three-quarters of the nations present if they were that lucky. Fortunately they are not.

Forwards

RS 12 Jaqinze Irin’arbor 23 5’7 144
Utica United (Osarius)
Jaqinze has turned into the goal scoring threat everyone knew she would be. Now entering the prime of her career and with Banjuru to keep the defenses honest, she loos to join the elite in the world as a goal scorer.

LS 52 Banjuru Shr‘tuu M 25 5’11 171
Shalerix FK
The second leading scorer of the VAFK last five seasons, Banjuru proved his worth in World Cup 61 as defenses concentrated on Jaqinze. Now hw must prove he can continue to score as he receives plenty of attention on his own.

LS 17 Aimee Irin‘Lur F 16 5’3 115
Arceathue (High School) Radience
If the name Irin’Lur seems familiar, it should. Aimee is the daughter of former Sea Dragon misfit and all-around “bad girl” Rainu Irin’Lur. And yes, many see Aimee as the demon-child second coming of her mother. But one thing is for certain, she knows how to put the ball into the back of the net.

[b}Midfielders[/b]

OM 10 Jorgais Obu‘obua M 20 6’3 195
Carrington University
Jorgais has quickly earned a name for himself in the collegiate ranks as a sure-footed scorer and even more so for his ability to make quick passes through tiny windows. Unlike his predecessor, he likes to stay forward and rarely drops into deep coverage.

RM 11 .Bareqii Ulu’namo F 22 5’8 130
Carrington FK
Bareqii is a magician when on ball. Cat-quick and with speed to spare she adds some excitement to the middle of the pitch. The world had better take notice as she ahs become the most dominant midfielder the Sea Dragons have to offer.

LM 29 Akaok Kapekeoa M 37 6’5 210
Et’ai Zirakul
A native Zirakulii, Akao has become a true Vegai hero on the pitch and a terror to opposing teams as well. Huge and bronze skinned he makes quite an impression in this traditional grass skirt and body paint. That he has lost a step is not a question, but he remains one of the most feared players in the world. When skills begin to erode, intimidation is a wonderful replacement.

M 39 Turlin Ironbeard M 142 4’5 155
Stonengarten Sarud
Turlin excels at using his small stature to lose himself among the bigger players and come out cleanly with the ball. Jorgais and the strikers should benefit from his ability to play the ball forward with pinpoint precision.

Up-Backs

RUB 13 Osurun Ayami M 25 6’5 175
Darmen City FC (Darmen)
A native of the newly acquired territories of Mara-kai, Osurun is a perfect blend of size and speed for the up-back position. Deceptively fast, he looks awkward at times but has a knack for being in the right place. He will be pushed hard by reserve Xia Cuolai, another Mara-Kaii player with more experience but without his natural skill.

LUB 14 Nelijibii Sam'roth'oq F 32 6’0 150
FK Kelsey
The best true up-back the Sea Dragons have fielded since Kymykera, Nelijibii has the potential to become the best player on the pitch. she dictates the pace of not only the opposition’s attack but her own side’s pace while in transition.

UB 69 Xia Cuolai F 28 5’6 135
Loire-Mourenx
Xia is a solid, if unspectacular, player who knows her limits and excels by staying within them. She feels slighted that Osurun was chosen to join the starting eleven rather than her and will make the best of any chance she gets to prove the staff wrong.

Backs

RB 50 Ombar Stonewall M 165 4’10 140
Stonengarten UH
A hard hitting, hard rocking, Dwarf who loves to show bigger players just how tough they are not, Ombar excels at punishing those who challenge him directly (within the rules of the game, of course). Has taken a cue from Akaok and now wears traditional Dwarven War Facepaint for every match.

CB 27 Karinzui Sa’astre F 21 5’9 165
Utica United (Osarius)
She plays with a reckless abandon that leaves opposing attackers running for their lives. If she can learn when to hit, a place where Laia excelled, she will be a star in no time at all.

LB 54 Ozyxomidruin Lamas’Porii M 32 5’10 156
Charleston Athletic (Osarius)
Another thug on the back line, Ozyx tends to be the stabilizer for the back three - a role he has had to grow into. Now comfortable with calling the assignments of the defense he can focus more on the punishment he loves to dish out.

B 97 Sammala Usikoec M 23 6’4 230
Another grass-skirt clad Zirakulii who looks to make a name for himself, Samm is a very physical back.

Keepers

K 99 Sanlioch Bez’Al M 32 6’3 242
Errion Vega FK
Can anyone say “World’s Best Keeper”? we can and we do. Enough said.

K 84 Eathohatu Ban'engo M 30 6’5 205
Vegai 4th Quad
World class in his own right, most sides wish there starter were this solid.

Oblique Strategy

Where's the edge? Where does the frame start?

Two simple questions. No real answer. The Edge of violence is where we play. Hit First… But how far is too far? As for our frame, we hope it starts now. This is our time to prove we are truly one of the best. Only time can hold that answer.

Nickname: The Aces
Colors: Black with silver number and trim (home), silver with black number and trim (away), red with gold number and trim (keeper).
Formation: 3-4-3
Style: -1, built on a solid defense

Strategic vision

Moonseeker shakes her head after the last practice. So much to remember. But Stormspeak and Windglow are wise, and their pictures of many rectangles make sense. Their methods are easy. "Ask your body . . . where is the edge? Where does the frame start?" Partying is more fun. But studying systems wins.

Keepers

#1 - Rainbowcatcher, goalkeeper, Manetreal
Rainbowcatcher is a leanly-built gray mare with a long orange mane, almond-shaped violet eyes, and a songbird as her mark. She is both courageous and humble, a risk-taker coming out of nets who shuns the limelight her show-stopping plays might bring.

#12 - Thundersong. reserve keeper, Whinnypeg
Thundersong is a pudgy yellow filly with a mop-like orange and white mane, almond-shaped teal eyes, and three cameras as her mark. She is quite reserved, hard to get to know, but has the biggest heart on the squad.

Defenders

#2 - Solarchaser, left back, Manetreal
Solarchaser is a lean white stallion with an orange mane, cherry-red slanted eyes, and two fire extinguishers as his mark. He has grown jumpy over the years with the stresses of top-level play. Fantastic reaction time.

#3 - Windglow, center back (team captain), Whinnypeg
Windglow is a statuesque gray mare with patches of purple and a black mane. She has beady green eyes and two soccer balls as her mark. There is no wiser pony in all the land, in or out of sport. It serves her well as captain.

#5 - Solarsinger, right back, Tailonto
Solarsinger is an ungainly white filly with a short, spiky yellow mane. Her slanted eyes are chalk-white, and she has two marks: a pile of bricks and a chess rook. She is the pony most likely to be carded--steadfast, tenacious, and vicious when provoked.

#13 - Mistdelight, reserve defender, Manetreal
Mistdelight is an elegant gray stallion with a wavy blue mane, rust-colored eyes of almond shape, and three knots as his mark. He is a strong tackler, creative, but a little bit slow.

Midfielders

#4 - Moonseeker, defensive midfielder, Manetreal
Moonseeker is a lean red filly with a very short spiky mane, slanted chestnut eyes. and two mountains as her mark. She is the partypony of the squad, a fun-lover with a glib tongue.

#6 - Feathercatcher, central midfielder, Tailonto
Feathercatcher is an ungainly scarlet stallion with an extremely long orange mane, round chocolate-colored eyes, and a rose as his mark. He is the ultimate team player, always ready to do what is asked, but lacks initiative.

#8 - Stormwhistle, central midfielder, Whinnypeg
Stormwhistle is a lean colt, orange shading into purple, with a long black-and-white mane. He has coffee-colored eyes and an hourglass as his mark. Time has not been his friend; although a skilled performer he is disillusioned about sport.

#10 - Cloudclimber, attacking midfielder, Miramare
Cloudclimber is a large umber stallion with a waterfall of a red mane, brown eyes, and an owl as his mark. Worldly, a ladies' pony, full of himself . . . but he can engineer the attack with flair. Cloudclimber seeks the limelight Rainbowcatcher shuns. Takes penalties.

#14 - Rainbowquest, reserve midfielder, Tailonto
Rainbowquest is an elegant green colt with a remarkably short mane, round black eyes, and a tiara as his mark. Talented but untutored.

Forwards

#7 - Skysparkle, left forward, Miramare
Skysparkle is a gangly gray filly with a short black mane, lemon-yellow eyes, and a dirigible as her mark. A hopeless romantic who always sets her heart on the wrong pony. Outstanding on set pieces.

#9 - Featherdance, center forward, Manetreal
Featherdance is a pudgy chestnut mare with a long black mane, coffee-colored eyes, and a scroll as her mark. By far the squad's best scorer, at any time she can rise to truly heroic stature and carry her team on her back.

#11 - Lunardash, right forward, Tailonto
Lunardash is a long-legged ebony colt with a green mane reminiscent of flower petals. He has red eyes and a ring as his mark. Of late he is in a slump from trying too hard to impress Skysparkle.

#15 - Windclimber, reserve forward, Manetreal
Windclimber is a large ebony filly with a long, spiky orange mane, large sapphire eyes, and a peace symbol as her mark. She has all the tools but lacks focus.

Staff

Stormspeak, manager, Manetreal
Stormspeak is a gangly gray stallion with yellow spots, a green mane that cascades like a waterfall, black droopy eyes, and four campfires as his mark. Expect him to court and win Windglow some day, but his wisdom guides him truly to other priorities while she plays. He is a bold former attacking midfielder.

Loftywhistle, assistant manager, Whinnypeg
Loftywhistle is a leanly-built red stallion with a yellow mane, droopy alabaster eyes, and three headphone sets as his mark. A born schemer, he is devoted to his own advancement and knows that team success is the most likely road to that outcome. He used to play on the wing.

Rainrunner, physio, Tailonto
Rainrunner is a leanly-built bone-white mare with a long, spiky mane of green and orange. She has yellow slitted eyes and a chart and abacus as her mark. Too clever by half, she is capable but arrogant.

About Manetreal

The United Cumulus Kingdom of Manetreal is a federation of four city-states sited in the clouds. Its exact location relative to ground references is somewhat ambiguous; clouds have a way of moving. The four cities roughly occupy the four compass points. The natives are colorful pegasus ponies, with a few small groups of other flying creatures also making homes in the nation.

Manetreal is the largest settlement in the kingdom and lends its name to the united polity. It serves as the political capital and a center of trade. The mighty Queensroad originates at the palace here, curves through north Tailonto and terminates at the market at Whinnypeg. Tailonto, the second-largest settlement, lies to the south. It is highly cosmopolitan with significant populations of owls, gryphons, and other flying creatures. The city also hosts the Tailonto Academy of Magic which explores the possibility of advanced magic abilities for pegasi, particularly with weather magic. Whinnypeg in the west is the kingdom's breadbasket, with productive farmlands and orchards even amongst the clouds. It is a modest settlement surrounded by agricultural holdings. Miramare is a tiny northern outpost with wide-open areas to the west and southwest, practice grounds for the elite Protectors stunt-flying team. In addition to showing off their undoubted skills, the Protectors train to guard the realm from outside Troubles.

RP Permissions

Heh. This is a land of flying technicolor ponies. Somehow I don't think godmodding is an issue. But please don't seriously injure a pony without advance okay from me.

APOX BREVITY CHALLENGE CUP ROSTER

(Note: This tournament will be taking place in May 566 A.T - 2 months after the Campionato Esportiva which is currently occurring)

Manager: John Grigia
Style: +3.4

Spiel: After a shaky start in the Campionato Esportiva, the team are through to the 2nd Round by being the best 3rd ranked team. However, we have started to eliminate some of the boring draws that defined our WCQ's and the CoH. The squad is not much changed from the Campionato Esportiva, however, many of the more junior players have been handed starting places. John Grigia has also resorted to using a more standard 4-4-2 formation, to strengthen our defense.

Our oblique strategy is Don't be afraid of things because they're easy to do. Us Apoxian's never shy away from taking the easier option if it is available to us. This means, our strategy is to pass the ball upfield, rather than back to our defenders when we can, because then it;s closer to the goal.

The Karditan Robber Barons

Soccer is illegal in Karditan. Thus, this is a team of criminals.

Starting 11

Goalkeeper- Emanuel Portico. One of the most successful petty thieves in all of Karditan, he is incredibly agile and specializes in predicting the movements of adversaries. This helps tremendously in stopping shots, espicially PKs. He is married to Sweet Swing.

Left Back- Dorian Berard. Runs Hardcore Cola, Karditan's leading soda distributor. Has an odd obsession with an online game called "RLstates."

Center Back- Dust Pan. The head janitor in Silveen Eleco's Fillydelphia estate (see below), he is incredibly quick and maneuverable--taken from years of experience darting through needlessly elaborate hallways and corridors to fix and clean any problems that appeared anywhere on the massive grounds.

Center Back- Left Wing. A Pegasus hitman who is wanted on several charges of vandalism and arson, suspected of using small tornadoes and lightning to destroy the rival businesses of his clients.

Right Back- Ivory Hilt. A freedom fighter from Vashameer who successfully bartered with Karditani authorities to allow his homeland to be carried away along with Ibex when the rebellious state was moved from one region to another via a fleet of military-grade helicopters. The land movement left most of the underlying soil, so the Karditanis got all they wanted: the oil. Meanwhile, Hilt has become the Governor-General of Vashameer under Ibex while continuing his modeling career.

Defensive Midfielder- Carnac Carson. The biggest personality in Karditani crime, Carnac is the guy you go to when you need a hookup. Everyone who is anyone has grabbed a beer with him at one point or another. Is rumored to have some future-telling powers.

Midfielder- Yong-Hu Cho. Leader of the largest Triad in Neighpon. A bit of an amateur in organized crime when compared to Korzado and Carnac, but still not a man you want to cross--he is far more focused on revenge and overt displays of superiority than the other two (which is very amateurish in a crime boss). Probably the most likely of the starting eleven to get red-carded.

Forward Midfielder- Sweet Swing. The one member of the Robber Barons who isn't actually a criminal, Swing is the daughter of famous Karditinian golfer Tyre McIron. She is married to Emanuel Portico.

Forward- Lightning Heart. A buffalo with a bad temper. Really, that's it. More assault & battery convictions than you can shake a horn at. Isn't very swift, but few people will want to be in his way if he gets up to speed.

Forward- Korzado. One of the few Zebras in Karditan, Korzado runs the Illineigh Mafia. His influence can be found in almost every successful business venture in Illineigh, as well as many in Detrot and Sinsinatti. A legion of all types of creatures serve him, and he might be the only thing richer than Eleco in Karditan- but he doesn't flaunt his wealth like Eleco does. Almost all of it is re-invested, whether in businesses or bribes.

Striker- Mario Cansetta. One of the higher-ups in Korzado's organization, Mario is in charge of collecting protection fees in Sinsinatti as well as organizing the official unofficial street racing league of Karditan. He's generally good-natured (he tries to convince his clients to pay their fees because he genuinely doesn't want to teach them a lesson), and is fiercely competitive. He'll take some bad shots, but it's damn hard for defenders to keep up with him.

Manager- Sucker Punch. A unicorn who's special ability is illusions of the nefarious kind, Punch is a strategic genius who plans to bring Karditan to the top. He runs the most successful corporate advertising/propaganda firm in Fillydelphia.

Financier- Silveen Eleco. The Man in Karditan. He runs Eleco Industries, Karditan's largest electronics company. He inherited the moderately-sized business from his father, Sylvester, and grew it to enormous proportions with brilliant economics and some underhanded business practices. He organized the Robber Barons and put together their entry into the World Cup, maintaining a large role on the running of the team though he no longer plays.

D- Mark Cheez
D- Jack Howitzer
D- Pick Pocket (Unicorn)

the Harvest Mice at BCC3

Postby Free South Califas » Sun Sep 30, 2012 8:55 pm

My opponent, if they RP first, may do the following:

Choose my goalscorers Y
Godmod scoring events Y (within reason)
RP injuries to my players N
Godmod injuries to my players N
Hand out yellow cards to my players Y (sparingly, they are generally disciplined)
Hand out red cards to my players Y (sparingly, they are generally disciplined)
Godmod other events - only related to earthquakes, droughts, wildfires, mudslides and other realistic weather events typical of Southern California or your country. In winter, flooding can strand vehicles in the heavily-populated area around Mission Valley Stadium in San Diego, which is actually an emergency shelter in wildfire season. In the course of extreme-weather RP, you may injure one of my players if realism dictates it must happen. Do not kill anyone named in this post.

Presenting the South Califas Harvest Mice
and their incredible 11 kits!

World Cup 60 kits provided by the June 11th Solidarity Committee, FSC Aspies for Freedom, and the Worker Solidarity Movement of Free South Califas
Additional kits for World Cup 61 provided by 13FA/ISAC571 International Sporting Uniform Provision Act and the duly compensated labor thereof

OOC note: The following is outdated, because I got my job back.

The Harvest Mice weren't expected to do much when they debuted for World Cup 60 qualifying after missing the registration date for the Baptism of Fire that has traditionally honed the mettle of new nations. When the plucky Califans finished 4-3-7, just a point out of fourth place, they were shocked to do better than 7th. A 2-2 upset draw against Unibot followed by an even bigger 0-0 upset draw against Bostopia were perhaps the highlights of the Group 12 action for FSC, but they also pasted fellow unranked competitors Corderock and finished even on series with Cult of Ashley Greene and Monastery-on-the-Rock before taking another 2 points away from Unibot with a 0-0 draw.

Despite the unexpected successes along the way, South Califas pundits have warned that a group softened by Bostopia's body blows week in and week out inflated the Mice's results. While there is much difference of opinion about the way forward, the players came to agree that it would be wise to hire a manager with experience in international competition rather than relying on the player-manager system. After a characteristically long and confusing election, the players decided to bring on [nation=Osarius]Osarian[/nation] club manager Oswaldo Garabona, formerly of the Violia club (as manager) and Grasshoppers Turic (as captain). Garabona was considered a good fit for the flexible, unorthodox, somewhat unpredictable, anarchic improvisational style of the Harvest Mice. Nicknamed "El Loco", Garabona is known for using bizarre and innovative formations and controversial substitutions, as well as for giving the general air of a used car salesman.

Given the strength and resilience shown by the ragtag band of footballers from World Cup 60, Garabona has decided to bring back the entire roster and start with a wing-heavy defensive formation, from which the quick-thinking Califans--honed by the total-football-like demands of El Metodo--can rapidly shift into a counterattacking form to catch opponents off guard.

The Federation of Association Football presents

The Legalese National* Team

*National in the sense that they're all from the Nation of Legalese, but that's about all that makes them such.

Some notes:
-As this team is not the normal team, the normal rules don't really apply here. As the oblique strategy will indicate, that includes with the formation and other tactics. As such, the style modifier is a -2.75.
-Also, with this not being the normal team, the Cushing-era tradition of the starters wearing 1-11 is out the window; rather, numbers 12-22 will be worn by the primary XI, with the remainder wearing numbers in the thirties or higher. Note that any and all may be called upon to play anywhere (except for the keepers)
-Additionally, as this is not the Normal Team, the Normal Rank need not apply. Thus, we'll be ranking ourselves down to a 4.
-RP Permissions: Short of, um, well, nothing (we are in Wight, after all), should my opponent post first, they shall be permitted to do anything that they also permit their opponents to do in the RP permissions portion of their roster post. Should that mean that my opponent has neither posted RP permissions nor a roster, they shall be permitted nothing whatsoever.

Now, for the lineup:

Keepers:
22 - Ricky Cole
33 - Hortensius Lenard "Lenny" Kimball
44 - John Wyn

Defence
21 - Biff Dawson
20 - Wayland Brant
19 - Karl Cotterill
18 - Garth T. Jordan
17 - Brutus Blakeslee
32 - Brock Marston
34 - Terry Burton

Midfield
16 - Eddie Beckett
15 - Trevor Oliver
14 - Tristan Rigby
35 - Zack Hamilton
36 - Zavier Donn
37 - Gus Fintan
38 - Huey Spooner
39 - Ianto Kipling

Forwards
13 - Maverick Wickham, III - "Rick the Wick"
12 - Cato Bannerman
30 - Arthur Brown
31 - Tye Seaver
40 - Reed Jenkins
41 - Kelcey Martell

Manager: Deacon "Chip" Wilcox

Oblique Strategy: What would your closest friend do? He would respect you, but take advantage of the opportunity. That's the task for Chip Wilcox as manager. Gabe Cushing is his friend, as well as nearly a legend in Legalese, but he also knows two things: Gabe was lucky, and Gabe is slipping.

Host/Co-Host of many World Cup-associated things, mostly long ago. A couple of small wins as well, which is nice.

Bears Armed

‘The Bear-Belles’

National football organisation: ‘Bears Armed Association for Soccer’ (= ‘BAAS’).
(Chairbear: Arrannah Graye [Chairbear of River City S.C.])
National anthem (for sports): ‘The Banner Green And Gold’.

Yes, it still is an all-female team. As I’ve explained before, this is because the main ball-game that's traditionally been played in Bears Armed is actually a form of Rugby, but [for several reasons] the professional league for that sport is all-male and so some of the female players decided that switching to Soccer — and trying to establish a professional league for that sport for themselves instead — might be a viable alternative: They were right, because that professional league was founded shortly after WC44 and so has now been in operation for over an eightSquared of years.

All of the players are actual Ursines (i.e. anthropomorpic, bipedal Bears)], except for any whom I actually specify as being members of other ‘peoples’ instead. The Harr'aynau people are physically human (more-or-less, anyway, although inclined towards heavy builds & hairiness), but are spiritually & culturally Ursine instead.

According to Bears Armed’s timeline, Brevity Cup III is talking place in 2080AD. The figures given here for people’s ages and lengths of experience are correct for the 'newbie' players, but are currently the numbers that will be applicable in 2081AD instead for everybody else…

Manager: Urra ‘Honey’ SunBlesséd _ A female Ursine from the Sun Clan, she has 76(!) years of experience in football and played for the Bear-Belles from BoF#31 right through into WC#57. She is now 93 years old but, although not amongst the people from the team’s former staff who were “rejuvenated” in 2042, still seems quite ‘young’ both physically and mentally. She is right-pawed, with ‘honey-brown’ fur, and has very good eyesight even by human (rather than Ursine) standards. She is a very accurate kicker, and was therefore one of the usual first choices for taking free kicks & penalties. Her nickname comes from her fur-colour, and her very sweet nature: Originally it was also because (as we must admit…) she was rather “thick”, but then she ‘grew-up’ mentally during WWC12 & the qualifiers for WC50 so that now she has a verrry good mind indeed… She acted as manager for the [“unified”] U21 teams that Bears Armed entered in DBC13 (=> runners-up) and DBC14 (=> quarter-finals), whilst WC58 (with its qualifiers) was her first competition in charge of the country’s senior team.

Deputy Manager (Admin): Amarra Marra o Harruor
(female Ursine, from Clan Harruor Erruur; formerly a staff member at BAAS, appointed to this job just before DBC21; age = 40, fur = medium-brown).

Deputy Manager (Coaching): Hirrdhra o TrueHeart
(female Ursine; Clan = BerryGlades; playing experience = 31 years [Home team = Merlchester Rovers; category = Midfielder or Defender, usual position = Lynchpin]; age = 41 years, left-pawed, fur = medium-brown with [natural] ‘strawberry’ highlights; seems to have a knack for anticipating opponents’ actions; also qualified as a Dream Interpreter. (She made her international debut in DBC18, as a starting Midfielder & the Captain, shifting to Lynchpin -- & still Captain – in DBC19, but some of you may also remember her as a spectator from WC54...) Formely the Belles' Captainm, she is now being tried out as Chief Coach (already having filled that role at her home team, as well as playing for them, for the last five years) instead.

Defensive Coach: Jhargeena o Wirrene
(female Ursine; Clan = Herrchaum, age = 46, right-pawed, fur = very light brown with some reddish hints; languages spoken = Verrene, Ursine ['HeartWoods' dialect], and English; religion = 'Wookha' ; she sometimes seems to have a sort of "sixth sense" about what's going to happen on the pitch during the next few moments; off of the pitch, she favours loose skirts and draped scarves in bright (& often contrasting) colours, with more jewellery than is typical for Ursines (i.e. her people's equivalent of a 'Gypsy chic' look…) in emulation of her [rather distant] relative Arna-Maggra; The only new addition to the team for WC56, she had actually been short-listed for DBC17 but had had to stay at home instead back then due to a family emergency; she played for Mighty Herrchaum as a Defender, and became a member of the Bear-Belles [usual position = Left Back] until & including the ‘Golden Honeycomb’ friendly before the qualifiers for WC60 began: playing experience = 23 years; appointed to this job for the WC60 qualifiers & onwards).

Attacking Coach: Taborra Sheerh
(female Tiggrahth'hrra [i.e. anthropomorphic Tiger]; Clan = Tiggrahth'hrra; age = 44 years, right-pawed, fur = black with orange stripes; "Fast and furious"; she played for Kingly City as a Lynchpin, Midfielder, or Forward, for 13 years [until just before these qualifiers began] and was widely credited with playing a major role in powering that team’s rise back up through the Upper Division from relegation-threatened to a regular place in the top four; She made her international debut in WC57 ‘proper’ [ joining the Belles after the qualifying stages of that tournament; playing experience = 14 years; appointed to this job for the WC60 qualifiers & onwards).

Doctor: Rebearrch’hra o RedRose
(female Ursine, from the RedRose ‘Free Sept’; age = 45, left-pawed, fur = medium brown with reddish highlights; hired just before DBC21.)

Physiotherapist: Behrthye NorthWalker
(female Harr’aynau [humanoid], from Clan WildWoods; age = 41, right-handed, hair = ginger; hired just before DBC21.)

Routemaster (this job involves handling all of the squad’s travelling arrangements)[b]: This is currently a part of Amarra Marra o Harruor’s duties.

Chaplain, ‘One Plus Seven’: Urrsulha Nightfall
(female Ursine from the Silver-of-Night; age = early/mid-40s, left-pawed, fur = silvery; assigned to this job, by the Great Medicine Society, just before the qualifiers for WC57.)

Chaplain, Ursion: Derrik Ommin
(male Ursine, from Clan Artorran; age = 47; right-pawed, fur = light brown & fairly short, he is a bit closer to ‘human’ in shape than is the average Ursine; seconded to this post from the staff of the ArchPriest of New Sarrum, who is the Earthly head of the Ursion Church; he is a keen student of Football, both nationally & internationally, and can bore for Bears Armed on the details of teams’ records & players’ careers [and about the statistics involved, too: Did I mention yet that he originally trained as a statistician? ^_^ ] — if you give him even half a chance…)

Security Chief: Major Arran Warrd
(male Ursine, from Clan Herrchaum; age = 46, left-pawed, fur = dark grey; easily overlooked, most of the time; seconded from [an unspecified unit within] the Confederal Army to this job just before the qualifiers for WC57.)

Caterers: Jorrdon Blue.

‘Mascot’: ‘The Wise Grorrfinn’
(male ‘TrueBear’; age = undisclosed [but considering some of his appearances in old stories apparently somewhere over 1’500, at least...], ambidextrous, fur = medium-brown) (During WC54 it was revealed that he is the maternal grandfather of Urra ‘Honey’ SunBlesséd.)

Roster

Veterans

(#1) Marranna NorthStar _ Clan = NorthStar [‘Free Sept’]; home team = NorthPort Navigators, category & usual position = Goalkeeper, experience = 14 years; age = 27 years, right-pawed, fur = very light brown, she has very quick reflexes and keen senses. (She made her international debut in DBC21.)

(#2) Urratharra o SouthWoods _ Clan = WestWoods; home team = GramBridge Town, category = Defender or Midfielder, preferred & usual position = Right Back, experience = 21 years; age = 33 years, right-pawed, fur = medium-brown. (She made her international debut in DBC19, as a substitute, and was then a starter in DBC20, before joining the senior team for Brevity Cup 2 and the qualifiers for WC60.)

(#3) Lueth’hree Redwood _ Clan = Redwood; home team = River City, category = Defender, usual position = Left Back, experience = 19 years; age = 29 years, left-pawed, fur = medium-brown. (She made her international debut in DBC21, and also played in Brevity Cup 2, both of which the Bears won, before the qualifiers for WC60....)

(#26) Darrarlha o GoodSword _ Clan = Sun; Home team = Sun Valley Smashers, category = Defender or Lynchpin or Midfielder, usual position = Lynchpin, experience = 18 years; age = 32 years, ambidextrous, fur = blonde; a superlative player, and a good tactician. (She made her international debut in DBC21, which her team won, and then joined the Belles for WC59.) She wears with pride the same number that her aunt Urrthra o GoodSword — who died heroically in the fighting against the ‘Dead Bears Walking’ — bore through several Cups.

(#6) Bruinhilda Addarich’-darthhrurr _ Clan = Vasrbora. Home team = LakePort Lionesses, category = Defender / (Defensive) Midfielder, preferred position = Midfield Left or Left Back, experience = 19 years; age = 33, left-pawed, fur = very light brown, relatively light build. (She made her international debut in World Cup 59 ‘proper’ [rather than in its qualifying stages].)

(#7) Urma Lightning _ Clan = Gunnar; Home team = Hero’s Park Heroines, category = Midfielder, usual position = Midfield Right, experience = 20 years; age = 33, right-pawed, fur = light brown. (She made her international debut in Brevity Cup 1.)

(#11) Harrashia o Redwood _ Clan = Redwood; home team = Merlchester Rovers, category = Forward /Winger/Midfielder usual position = Left forward (‘Inside Left’) but often used now as a substitute as a 'Utility Outfielder', experience = 25 years; age = 38 years, ambidextrous, fur = medium-brown with hints of russet; she is a great-great-niece of Harroya “of the Rovers” o Redwood, former captain of the Bear-Belles, but gained this place on merit. (She made her international debut as a substitute in DBC 19, joining the Belles for WC57.)

(#13) Amarra Sunwatcher _ Clan = Sun; Home team = Sun Valley Smashers, category = Forward, usual position = Right Forward (‘Inside Right’), experience = 22 years; age = 33 years, right-pawed, fur = “oatmeal” colour, eyesight good even by human standards, very fast on her feet, very accurate in ‘set pieces’ for which she is therefore one of the favoured takers. (She made her international debut in DBC20.)

[#10] Syrrae o Wirrenne _Clan = Herrchaum; Home team = Merlchester Rovers, category = Forward, usual position = Left Forward (Inside Left) but also good as Centre Forward, experience = 18 years; age = 32, left-pawed, fur = ‘platinum-blonde’; seems to have an [almost?] psychic instinct about where the ball and other players will be next. (She made her international debut in Brevity Cup 1.)

(#12) Thyrra Darma’s-darthhrr _ Clan = Thulean; Home team = Ursinborkh Angels, category = Forward, usual position = Right Forward (but has also done well as a Centre Forward), experience = 16 years; age = 29, right-pawed, fur = white [‘polar’], big — her height is 7’5”, and she’s built to match — but fast & agile anyway. (She made her international debut as a reserve, who did get some playing time, in the team that won DBC21.)

(#14) Hilgh’hra Westlander _ Harr’aynau humanoid; Clan = Redwood; home team = LakePort Lionesses, category = Forward or Winger, preferred & usual position = Right Forward (Inside Right) or Right Winger, experience = 17 years; age = 28, right-pawed, hair = ginger. She made her international debut in Brevity Cup 2.)

(#15) Harrietta Karra o Hara _ Invisible Wabbit; Clan = BerryGlades (by adoption); home team = WideWindle Wanderers, category = Winger or Midfielder, usual position = Left Winger (' Outside Left'), experience = 17+ years; age = ???, ambidextrous, fur = light grey; she is INVISIBLE to most "mundane" people, but those should still be able to see the kit that she's wearing; less likely to resort to "ridiculous" trickery than might be the case in an all-Wabbit team, but still quite likely to do things like using her long ears to hold the ball in place on top of her head or running along on her hands whilst juggling the ball with her feet, both of which would of course make tackling her [within the rules] rather difficult. (WC59 was her international debut.)

Newbies

(#31) Arna Hawthorne _ Clan = Harruor Erruur; Home team = LakePort Lionesses, category & usual position = Goalkeeper, experience = 5 years; age = 20 years, right-pawed, fur = medium-brown, “Miss Average” in appearance”, but definitely above-average in skill. (This tournament is her international debut.)

(#32) Samm’hrra BergBearh _ Clan = Thulean; Home team = AmFahrr Adevnturesses, category & usual position = Goalkeeper, experience = 6 years; age = 20 years, left-pawed, fur = white (‘Polar’), 7’7” tall & built in proportion but with quick reactions. (This tournament is her international debut.)

(#33) Urranna o Barrdenn _ Clan = GreenWoods; Home team = River City (from ‘Barrdenn Babes’), category = Defender, usual position = Left Back, experience = 4 years; age = 19 years, left-pawed, fur = dark-medium brown & quite long; sister of #36. (This tournament is her international debut.)

(#34) Affehhindh’hrra Savernake _ Clan = Errhabarra; Home team = Harr Burran Heroines, category = Defender or Midfielder, usual position = Right Back or Right Half, experience = 5 years; age = 21 years, right-pawed, fur = light-medium brown. (This tournament is her international debut.)

(#35) Urrsa BigBear _ Clan = GreenWoods; Home team = Barrden Barbariennes, category & usual position = Lynchpin, experience = 5 years; age = 19 years, left-pawed, fur = dark-medium brown & quite long, 7’6” tall & proportionately broad but fast on her feet anyway. (This tournament is her international debut.)

(#36) Harroya o Barrdenn _ Clan = GreenWoods; Home team = Barrdenn Barbariennes, category = Lynchpin/Midfielder, usual position = Lynchpin (but can also play well as Left Half or Right Half), experience = 5 years; age = 18 years, ambidextrous, fur = medium-dark brown & quite long; sister of #33. (This tournament is her international debut.)

(# 37) Errond’hrra Thunder Child _ Clan = Gunnar; Home team = PassPort Athletic, category = Midfielder or Winger, usual position = Right Half or Right Winger, experience = 5 years; age = 19 years, right-pawed, fur = dark brown. (This tournament is her international debut.)

(#40) Sorrkhie Torr’hay_ Tiggrahth'hrra (i.e. anthropomorphic Tiger); Clan = Tiggrahth'hrra; Home team = Heroes’ Park Heroines, category = Forward, usual position = Centre Forward, experience = 5 years; age = 19 years, ambidextrous, fur = orange & black stripes. (This tournament is her international debut.)

(#41) Krissie Fairbearrn _ Clan = Sun; Home team = Kingly City, category = Forward/Winger, usual position = Right Forward or Right Winger, experience = 4 years; age = 18 years, right-pawed, fur = golden-brown, verry good eyesight. (This tournament is her international debut.)

(#42) Sarra Urrth’hrra Troutcatcher _ Clan =Widewater; Home team = River City, category = Forward or Winger, usual position = Left Forward or Left Winger, experience = 4 years; age = 20 years, left -pawed, fur = medium brown, height = only 6’1”. (This tournament is her international debut.)

(#43) Varrna o Kerr-Surra_ Clan = WestWoods; Home team = Wiston United, category = Winger or Midfielder, usual position = Right Winger or Right Half, experience = 4 years; age = 21 years, left-pawed, fur = cream; Lowfurran Christian. (This tournament is her international debut.)

(#44) Urrsa-Maricho NorthWalker _ Harr’aynau humanoid; Clan = WildWoods; Home team = Mighty Marchers, category = Winger, usual position = Left Winger, experience = 5 years; age = 21 years, left-footed, hair = dark chestnut. (This tournament is her international debut.)

Starters and Substitutes

Starters will fill the following positions: Goalkeeper, Left Back, Right Back, Lynchpin, Left Half, Right Half, Left Forward (Inside Left), Centre Forward, Right Forward (Inside Right), Left Winger (Outside Left), Right Winger (Outside Right): Seven will be veterans and four (spread around the pitch as far as this is practical, rather than grouped in one section of the team’s line-up) will be newbies. Each of the twelve newbie players will get to be a starter in one of the team’s group-stage games. Substitutes will be four veterans (covering the four newbie starters’ positions) and three newbies (covering other positions). If my opponents RP before me then they’re free to choose exactly which players are involved, as long as they don’t make any newbie a starter in more than one group-stage game.

Style: Offensive, modifier = +4.0… ("A good offence is the best defence"...)

Oblique Strategy: “Ask your body” _ The Belles are going to try a sort of 'Zen football' approach, acting on instinct a bit more than they usually do.

Ranking:: 9. (They have enough new players, who will be getting enough playing time, for this slight reduction from the maximum to apply…)

Opponents may _

Choose my goalscorers: Y (but the Forwards, and then the Wingers, are likeliest to fill this role...)
Godmod Scoring Events: Y

RP injuries to my players / Godmod injuries to my players / Hand out Yellow cards to my players / Hand out Red cards to my players: Y to all, at least to start with, but remember what I've written here and keep it in limits accordingly... Any serious offences by my players would probably result in injuries to your players, and causing any serious injuries to my players would probably require such obviously-deliberate attacks that your players would get yellow or even red cards as a result too. Don’t kill anybody, or inflict injuries that would be serious enough to end careers, without checking with me & getting my approval (which is unlikely to be granted…) first.

Godmod Other Events: Y, I suppose, at least as long as you do so in an AMUSING way... but please remember that Ursines are fully sapient beings, as much as Humans are, not instinct-driven animals. Oh, and of course female Ursines are not sexually interested in Humans (of either sex), and it's very unlikely that female Harr'ayanau would be either. Please don't have them run amok or outright revert to animality, without checking by TG first, don't make assumptions about their views on politics or religion, and don't do anything that would make more than one of them incapable of playing in their next game...

______________________________________________________

Kit: This incarnation of the team will normally wear the usual set of designs (from ‘ediraf’) that the Belles have favoured in the past, with the ‘Association’ badges correctly staying ‘BAAS’ rather than [the now obsolete] ‘BAMAS’. See "here" for details. However they will switch into copies of the NorthBears old violet-and-orange strip instead for Pink Cup matches.
Bears Armed has traditionally used base-8 arithmetic, for several reasons, and this has affected the set of numbers used for this team’s players: The number “22” has traditionally been left unassigned out of respect for its first [& only] wearer who died a heroine’s death during the year immediately following WC44, and now the number "10" has likewise been withdrawn from use…

NOTES

Ursines may tend to be a bit less agile & slower to accelerate than humans on average, but this team's members were carefully selected so the gap between them & their opponents in this respect should be narrower than some people might expect. They do tend to have [slightly] poorer eyesight than humans, on the whole (although the members of both Clan Gunnar and the Sun Clan are generally an exception to this rule, and the eyesight of the latter group is actually often at [slightly] better-than-human levels instead), so long-distance passes & shots at goal will tend to be rarer behaviour for them than they are for human teams... but their typical size & strength mean that when they're running with the ball it will probably take a very brave human — as well as a very skilled one — to tackle them successfully (or, at least, one who has reasonable experience of playing against Ursines…), which should balance that factor pretty well. They don’t jump very well, but then they’re generally rather taller than most Human players to start with so they shouldn’t need to jump as often in order to intercept [relatively] high shots...
Ursines are physically robust, of course, which means that they're much less likely than humans are to suffer injuries in falls or collisions. The females of this species are more even-tempered than the males, and the team's members will try to stay on their best behaviour not only in order to do well in this contest but also to impress upon the watching humans that Ursines aren't just "dumb beasts". They will not 'dive', or feign injury in other ways, because suggesting that they could be harmed so easily goes strongly against the grain. ‘Northlanders’ are maybe not quite as "civilised" as the 'Mainlanders'… or, at any rate, that’s the traditional stereotype..
Cold weather should pose no problem to them, even if there's snow or ice on the pitch, but tropical heat might prove awkward...

Unless our hosts at the match in question object, this team's members (including the designated substitutes for the match in question) will perform a [fairly short] ritual that's called the 'harrdiharr' on the pitch just before play begins... This is a traditional war-dance, meant to over-awe opponents, that has come to be a customary prelude for team games as well (similar to the [RL] New Zealanders' 'haka'...). : )
As has now been seen during various tournaments, some of our fans like to take drums — and possibly also 'Urrs-horns' [which are similar to Alpenhorns, cow-horns, or other "musical instruments", too — along to the matches…

The team is accompanied by a number of sapient Ravens, who are there both to gather information about the rival sides and to provide air cover in case of hostile waterfowl.

Manager - Berbiz Munduarte
Gunutz Yaregi is busy with the Copa Rushmori, so the FAF have handed U20s manager Berbiz Munduarte the task of guiding the squad through the third edition of the Brevity Challenge Cup. And given that most everyone is busy with the Copa Rushmori, the 23-man squad has been cobbled together at the last minute and consists almost entirely of uncapped fringe players - mainly from the domestic league - and is sorely lacking in some areas. Munduarte, whose last club job was at South Factory, is a bit of a daredevil as far as managing goes, but Yaregi has given him strict instructions lest he crash "his" national team while he's off with the big boys. They are to play very defensively and according to the parameters of Joachim Schwartz's "Pythagorean" formation, a highly unusual 2-3-3-2 dependent upon two triangular sets of players, one offensive and one defensive. The former is made up of the two forwards and an attacking midfielder, while the latter by two centre-backs and a defensive midfielder - the lone element in each triangle are the most crucial within the formation, needing to actively seek out each other and create plays. The wing-backs and centre-midfielders, who hover around the sides of the two triangles, are more adaptive and can move freely as the situation demands. Why is this? Why, because the oblique strategy Yaregi has chosen for Munduarte is "What would your closest friend do?". On the back of some exquisitely sensationalist revelations, it is the Astograthians' belief that this is a chance to triumph against the evil power of Búa in his own ground, and what better way to do so than copying the successful strategy put forward by the Polarians, the best friends they all love to hate?

Starting XI:

#1 - GK - Loren Arambel - Age 24 - Image Lajuno
Now playing for Lajuno of the FSSO, Arambel is part of Ituraitz's proud goalkeeping tradition, originally turning out for Ituraitz Victory before leaving in the search of playing time. Was part of the Astograthian squad for the Seventh Summer Olympics at Emberton, but has never been considered for the senior national team before and is now given a starting chance.

#5 - LB - Dunixi Dibar - Age 27 - Ituraitz Victory
Has previous international experience with the U21s at the Di Bradini Cup, but Dibar is otherwise lacking in exposure to its rigours. He's come through as one of the best players at both Victory and his previous team Oyardo FC, but still has a way to go before being a solid alternative to anyone on the senior national team.

#4 - CB - Haitz Maistegi - Age 22 - Astograth University
A Royal Cup winner with Royal Arexa, Maistegi was part of the defense that guided Arexa to a semifinal showing at the Cygnus Cup at a very young age. He has continued to show great form with Astograth University and is one of the best defenders Astograth has, narrowly missing the cut for the Copa Rushmori and with high hopes of making it to a World Cup.

#2 - CB - Leheren Ubago (C) - Age 31 - Astograth University
Long regarded as one of the best centre-backs in the Astograthian game, Ubago has reaped awards for his excellent defending at the up-and-coming Astograth University but has continually been ignored by the national team. This chance is more of a consolation prize than anything, but he has nonetheless been given the captain's armband and tasked with organising the defense, largely composed by club teammates. A top defender, he had the misfortune of being part of a stellar generation that kept him away from national team glory.

#6 - RB - Efraín Vizcaíno - Age 27 - Astograth University
Almost ten years ago, three players from the Tamarindian league arrived on Astograthian shores with the prospect of staying on loan for exactly one season. It didn't quite turn out like that, and they have since received Astograthian nationality and been allowed to play in the national team. Two, Galeano and Abdoulaye Bocandé, have already done so to great acclaim. The third, having shined at Blue Mountain Range and petered out at Royal Rumiatzi, now returns in full force after a blistering season at Astograth University and can finally complete Olibondeka's successful Tamarindian trio.

#10 - DM - Ayoro Barinaga - Age 22 - Athletic Club Rumiatzi
Barinaga was part of a generation of Astograthians raised at Erathi football academies; in his case, Royal Vosaroni Antenelli, before transferring to Arsar and débuting at an early age, as was the Seria-A's tradition. He has not had as much success since returning home to Athletic Club Rumiatzi, but the club seems to be slowly stabilising within the First Division and Barinaga can finally show off his terrific natural talent, weaving through the midfield and striking deadly set-pieces.

#18 - CM - Hanni Andikola - Age 26 - Urbizania Wanderers
Normally an attacking midfielder at Urbizania Wanderers, Andikola has a good dose of international experience via the Di Bradini Cup and UICA games, but the Pythagoren may prove a bit too strange for his usually direct sense of play. Swift attack down the middle is what he knows and what he does best; partnering with Lizaran is expected to solve the ensuing issues in defense somewhat, while Dibar can hopefully take care of the left flank going forwards.

#7 - CM – Zabal Lizaran - Age 26 - Image Iturributa United
Lizaran has broken through into the starting lineup of Iturributa United in replacement of Petter Bielsen, but the Polarian legend's shoes haven't proven too large to fill. With defensive steel and creative vision, Lizaran is expected to inject dynamic play into the national team; the Pythagorean demands flexibility, and given his partner is the rigid Andikola he must work twice as hard.

#8 - AM - Manex Urrutia - Age 26 - Echegoyan FC
Narrowly missed the Copa Rushmori cut in favour of Eriz Bakaikoa. Urrutia is a very talented creative midfielders, an effective replacement for Anixi Eturaspe at Echegoyan FC. More skilled at dribbling than passing, which is not ideal given the formation in question, but Urrutia still has a strong sense of teamwork that sets him apart from his peers at his club.

#9 - CF - Eguzki Berriex - Age 25 - Urbizania Wanderers
Much like Maistegi, Berriex was largely responsible for Royal Arexa's domestic cup victory and subsequent semifinal run at the Cygnus Cup, afterwards earning a big-money transfer to the in-form Wanderers. He has developed well under Edorta Urrustoy, and is one of the leading forwards in a domestic league that is heavily dependent on imported goalscorers.

#11 - CF - Oxel Nuin - Age 24 - Image Vanler Dynamo
Nuin, a youth starlet who didn't convince at Royal Rumiatzi, eventually grew tired of the bench, packed up his bags and caught the first flight to the fledgling Camian league - though unusual, it turned out to be his best decision yet. Establishing himself as one of the league's leading strikers, Nuin has led Dynamo to the second title of their history and earned himself both recognition and a call-up back home. Lithe and technically gifted, his partnership with Berriex has all the makings of the classic "big man - little man" link.

Substitutes:

#13 - GK - Machin Logegaray - Age 22 - Ituraitz FC
#23 - GK - Gaxan Echabeguren - Age 25 - Image Inter Compolis
#12 - LB - Bardol Oiskonta - Age 26 - Ituraitz FC
#3 - CB - Bikendi Medrano - Age 26 - Echegoyan FC
#19 - CB - Giro Ekenarro - Age 24 - Urbizania Wanderers
#16 - RB – Anton Axpuru - Age 27 - Athletic Club Olarria - 3 caps
#21 - DM - Baleren Uruztarzu - Age 21 - Blue Mountain Range
#20 - CM - Beremando Eskibel - Age 29 - Royal Arexa
#15 - CM - Lerchun Aragor - Age 29 - South Factory
#17 - AM - Ekhi Subies - Age 20 - Ituraitz Victory
#22 - CF – Loramendi Arregi - Age 27 - Athletic Club Rumiatzi
#14 - CF - Asentzio Sagastizabal - Age 24 - Athletic Club Olarria

Quick notes on the substitutes: Logegaray is an up-and-coming Ituraitzi keeper with a bright future at club level; Echabeguren is an Iturributan declared for Astograth who saves for one of the best teams in the Camian league; Oiskonta is a strong right-back but often singled out as the weak link in Ituraitz FC's top defense; Medrano and Ekenarro are decent defenders who could make the senior team with some luck; Axpuru is a Champions' Cup winner and five-time KPFA League champion but perennial benchwarmer in his time with FKM; Uruztarzu is BMR's new jewel, capable of directing the proudly defensive outfit's game at a young age; Eskibel and Aragor are rough, physical types in the vein of Edorta Urrustoy, though obviously not as skilled; Subies is another Erathi-made footballer, at Niccostrato in his case, though he has not had the best of times at Royal Association and Ituraitz Victory; Arregi and Sagastizabal are run-of-the-mill target men who benefit from high crosses and an attack centred on getting the ball to them exclusively.

Captain: Leheren Ubago
Free Kick Taker: Ayoro Barinaga
Penalty Taker: Eguzki Berriex
Right Corner: Manex Urrutia
Left Corner: Ayoro Barinaga

YES to all RP permissions, barring any career-ending incidents. Should you have any questions about anything, please do TG me.

Yesopalitha's Roster for the 3rd Brevity Challenge Cup

"The Color Team"

The team is made up of people who won't go by their name but by a color. They may be amateurs and not professionals, but they do scrimmage against the national team every year, so they deserve a rank of six.

Starters:
Goalkeeper: Purple
Left Back: Red
Center Back: Blue
Right Back: Tan
Left Winger: Magenta
Right Winger: Aqua
Left Midfielder: Green
Center Midfielder: Yellow
Right Midfielder: Indigo
Left Striker: Crimson
Right Striker: Gray

Reserves:
Goalkeeper: Pink
Defender: Brown
Defender: Lime
Midfielder: White
Midfielder: Gold
Forward: Silver
Forward: Bronze

Head Coach: Black

Style Mod: -2.

Who is playing for Yesopalitha in this oddball tournament? Ask your body. A team that has captured Yesopalitha's fancy but never been taken too seriously in the past has been the Color Team. Although their true identities have not been revealed, they have a huge following because of the fact that besides the black stripe that identifies them as Yesopalithans, they all wear their color's uniform. In a ploy to get more publicity in this tournament, the Yesopalithan Sports Committee decided to send this odd team.
They might shock people, though. Crimson and Gray are excellent strikers, more than enough to counteract the fact that the defense is perhaps the greatest part of the team.
Motto: Perseverantia saeculorum Note: I prefer to be known as YSP over YES if you use abbreviations.

- What really is crazy here, a team with anything, everything but only 2 names John and Tom. Distinguished only by the roman numerals at the back of the names. Are those the real names, nah they are not, only the nicknames came up by the fans.

GK : John
DF : Tom
DF : Tom II
DF : John II
MF : Tom III
MF : John IV
MF : Tom V
MF : John VI
FW : Tom X
FW : John XI
FW : John X

GK ; John VIII
DF ; Tom IX
DF ; John XX
MF ; Tom XXX
MF ; John XLII
FW ; Tom John MXXIV

Head Coach : TOM JOHN TOM JOHN JOHN MMXII
Rank : 3

Why the sudden change in everything when we are suppose to send in a team of people with their real names instead of this weird names that meant nothing. The answer was to reduce the amount of time calculating statistics, and this scheme is rolled out to test the efficiency of the measure after all. A team that was put up merely days before the actual tournament with its only match experience being a 25-0 trashing by the national team. the team was not even up to standard to play a standard match let alone participate in a cup which will see them get trashed by their opponents. Despite that the prospect of gaining enough match experience was certainly something as great as that that is hard to come by.

All ages are for the opening day of the BCC

Fresh off of a fourth-place showing in AOCAF, the Ministry of Morale is delighted to announce the Paladins' roster for the 3rd Brevity Challenge Cup. The Paladins are 2-0 qualifying after BCCs and 0-3 in Cups when BCCs haven't been held. Coack Kirkkegaard, his side and the fans all hope that the side can use the BCC as a springboard to the finals once again:

Formation: 3-6-1
Style: +1
Coaches: Sol Kirkkegaard, age 64, head coach (Polar Islandstates); André Vaillancourt-Bosquet, age 41, offensive co-ordinator; Niko Marek, age 42, defensive co-ordinator (Polar Islandstates); Étienne Lajeunesse, age 56, keepers

With Jacques-Modeste Taschereau headed into retirement after steering the Paladins back into the World Cup finals, Sol Kirkkegaard has been signed to a tremendous contract to take his place at the Paladins' helm. Having guided the Terns of his native Polar Islandstates from obscurity to a top ten KPB rank, he resigned in disgust after being undermined by his superiors and the press. The Ministry of Morale promptly seized the opportunity to hire a world-class manager as their head coach.

Kirkkegaard implemented some fairly sweeping changes to his side at the start of World Cup 61 qualifiers. He replaced the traditional 2-6-2 with a more defensive-minded 3-6-1. He brought the Terns first-ever Captain, and Hall of Fame defender, Niko Marek to improve the team's defense. Marek is also fluent enough in French to help smooth over communication problems between Kirkkegaard and those Paladins who are more comfortable in French than in English. Former NMS captain André Vaillancourt-Bosquet moved down the bench from the midfield to an assistant's spot, promoted by Kirkkegaard to provide a familiar face to his new side, and help him with the finer points of the midfield-driving NMS strategy. Goalkeeping coach Étienne Lajeunesse, well regarded by the players and ministry alike, and a groomsman at Édgar Thibault's wedding a decade ago, impressed Kirkkegaard immediately and retained his job.

Kirkkegaard's side turned in a dominant performance in AOCAF qualifiers after winning the Cup of Harmony, but ultimately choked in the semifinals and then coughed up the third place match to Wight, hosts of the impending BCC. Although this BCC will be a bit more low-key than its predecessors, being played in much smaller venues than the first two, the stakes are ultimately the same and the Paladins will be looking for another win to help them build momentum on their way into the first World Cup.

The Paladins won't be afraid of things because they're easy to do. Sometimes there really is a wide-open deep passing lane in front of you, and goals occasionally do fall into your lap. To win the BCC, the Paladins will need to profit from every opportunity their opponents leave them.

KEEPERS

1 Édgar Thibault, age 39, FC Sandside, Civil Citizenry
89 Bobby Laviolette, age 27, Dorion Poules
6 Bill Watterson, age 20, Unité Chateauguay

Édgar Thibault looked great at 39 throughout AOCAF, and will be in the box to start off the BCC. Both Watterson and Laviolette looked during their respective garbage-time substitutions during AOCAF, so the BCC will serve to differentiate between the two subs heading into WC62.

DEFENSE

2 Cédric Morand, LB, age 27, Unité Chateauguay, 0 goals
9 Maurice Bergeron, CB, age 28, Sorel Black Dragons, 0 goals
18 Rick Andrews, RB age 25, Sorel Black Dragons, 3 goals
14 André Lecavalier, CB/DMF, age 20, Repentigny War Eagles, 0 goals
10 Barry McPherson, CB, age 21, Pride of Wolfe Harbor, 0 goals
19 Harry Whitfield, RB/LB, age 23, CF Angiers

After struggling during the second half of qualification, Niko Marek did a wonderful job whipping the Paladins' defense into shape during the Cup of Harmony - one unfortunate shootout against Mapletish notwithstanding. AOCAF was a step forward and then a step back for this group, as they were dominant until the semifinals and porous during their final two matches. André Lecavalier is challenging Maurice Bergeron for the starting CB spot. Cédric Morand will be looking to recover after being out of position during both of Wight's goals in the third-place AOCAF match.

MIDFIELD

20 Mike Gladden, DMF, age 26, Unité Chateauguay, 0 goals
3 Mathieu Lionel, CMF, age 24, Philemon Mariners, 2 goals
78 Fred Moseley, CMF, age 29, Moncton Sands Coyotes, 1 goal
80 Loic Lejouard, LMF, age 25, CF Sherbrooke, 2 goals
54 Fabrice Sévérin, RMF, age 27, NM Patriotes, 6 goals
7 Julien Cormier, AMF, age 21, City of New Montreal, 10 goals
29 Donald Taylor, LMF/RMF, age 32, NM Patriotes, 7 goals
12 Justin Lagacé, LMF/RMF, age 21, St. Catherine's Manatees, 0 goals
4 Denis Boulet, CMF, age 26, Sorel Black Dragons, 0 goals
95 Yves Bélanger, age 23, CMF, CF Sherbrooke, 0 goals
15 André Salier, age 23, AMF, Philemon Mariners, 0 goals
31 Jean Haverford, age 22, DMF/LMF, Mutual of Bloomington, 0 goals

The midfield came together spectacularly well during AOCAF, and Sol Kirkkegaard has only made one change to the roster. It's doubtful that anyone will notice that Neil Calvin has been replaced by André Salier. People might notice Mathieu Lionel's spectacular passing, Donald Taylor's strong play from the bench, or Fabrice Sévérin's mistake-free play. They will notice Julien Cormier's speed and strong finishing touch, however.

STRIKERS

94 Hugo Leclercq, CF, age 20, CF Valdemont, 14 goals
19 Archambault Levine, CF, age 25, City of New Montreal, 0 goals

Leclercq enjoyed a breakout during the Cup of Harmony, celebrating 5 goals during the tournament and then celebrating a tremendous contract with CF Valdemont that made him NMS's youngest non-trust-fund-baby millionaire. He followed that up with a hat trick against Audioslavia during AOCAF qualifiers and will be looking to do more damage during the BCC. The elderly Linus Wiseman, meanwhile, has given way to hotshot Archambault Levine, fresh from claiming City's single-season scoring recording.

I hereby give my opponents permission to do anything that strikes their fancy, short of causing death or permanent paralysis to one of my players.

Kinitaria National Football Team
Brevity Challenge Cup III
Image

Manager: vacant
Following a poor showing at the recent AOCAF, caretaker manager Dominik Maduzia was offered a last chance to take charge of the team in the Brevity Cup. On learning that it would constitute a return to Wight, he fled FFK headquarters and has not been seen since. As such, Kinitaria do not have a manager nor a caretaker at present, and it is believed that they are desperately looking for one before the tournament begins. It is also believed that youth coach Amir Elizič will take control of the team if no replacement is found.

In an address to the team, Elizič supposedly said:

It might be easy. That doesn't mean it's not effective. There's no need to be afraid of the simple ball, the short pass, the patient build-up, that can carry us to glory. Keep your heads, keep it simple, and we might just have it in us to win this thing.

Kits:
ImageImageImage

Kinitaria retain their kits from the CoH and AOCAF, after these designs have enjoyed a surge of popularity amongst fans.

Squad:
With no manager of any sort to speak of, the Kinitar squad have flown out to Wight themselves. Due to not actually having a manager to select the squad, the team which has flown out is the same team which competed in the most recent competitions.

Goalkeepers

1. Costin Petran
GK - age 29 - 1. Maja - 53 caps - 0 goals
Petran is by far the overwhelming choice for the goalkeeping position, having held the #1 jersey almost permanently since the team played its first match. A superb shot-stopper, he is likely to consider each goal conceded as a personal insult. He played a key role in many of Kinitaria's victories in the World Cup qualifiers, and it is unlikely that he will be ousted from his position.

13. Vitya Jelen
GK - age 30 - Amzterdam FC (CYB) - 2 caps - 0 goals
Jelen faces a problem common to goalkeepers - he's the second best keeper in the country, behind Petran, but he has no way of dislodging his rival from the country's #1 slot. Nevertheless, the Serenberg keeper was instrumental in guiding his side to a respectable top-half finish. Having put some inconsistency problems behind him, he's proven to be excellent at stopping 1-on-1 shots and has shown great distribution of the ball. He tends to flap at crosses, but is a determined and reliable team player.

21. Jaren Kozak
GK - age 25 - Mi'ato - 0 caps - 0 goals
Mi'ato won the league with Kozak between the posts, but he's not a spectacular keeper and the defence at his club gave him very little to do. He can position himself well and has a good understanding of the game, but isn't consistent and is liable to make the odd howler. It's unlikely that he'll feature at all during the Cup of Harmony, because let's face it, what does a third choice keeper actually do?

Defenders

2. Karl Sala
LB - age 24 - Mi'ato - 45 caps - 1 goal
Sala has been an established member of the team right from their first game. An old-fashioned sort of left-back, he aims to make life hard for oncoming attackers, and will always stand his ground. He has been known to put in some harsh tackles, and this is shown by his disciplinary record, since he's been sent off twice in 38 appearances.

3. Doran Lupei - vice-captain
CB - age 26 - Litora United - 47 caps - 1 goal
Litora United stunned everyone by achieving a fantastic second place finish in the Premier Division, and a lot of this was down to club captain Lupei. The loyal, talented defender is great at marking, sticking closely to his man and breaking up attacks through the middle. He's proven himself to be the anchor of a Kinitar back line which has often been criticised for being fragile, and his performance will likely be crucial to the team's success at the Cup of Harmony.

4. Sebastien Sykora
CB - age 25 - AFC Damaciu - 36 caps - 1 goal
Maybe not the most technically gifted of defenders, Sykora has nevertheless established himself as a regular in the national side. He's no stranger to the occasional error, having cost Kinitaria crucial goals on at least two occasions during qualifying, and was part of the Damaciu side which narrowly escaped relegation last season. Despite this, he is versatile and can drift into new positions as needed, and he has also been known to notch a few goals himself, mainly headed efforts from corners.

5. Anton Spirlea
RB - age 23 - Mi'ato City - 48 caps - 0 goals
An accomplished team player and capable of performing under pressure, Spirlea is known for his excellent distribution of the ball, able to pick out a team-mate and start a counter attack with ease. He never panics when pressed and prefers to play his way out of trouble rather than hoofing the ball upfield. It's very rare to see him make a mistake and if he does have a flaw, it would be that he tends to let his complacency get the better of him. Expect to see him perform at the Cup of Harmony.

17. Ziven Dutka
CB - age 24 - Chyri - 0 caps - 0 goals
The uncapped Dutka earned himself a call-up to the national side following a good season in the Premier Division. He already shows a good understanding of the game and prefers to close down attackers rather than inviting the run. He'll sometimes commit too early and give away a cheap free-kick, but is not a malicious player despite having several bookings to his name domestically.

18. Cyril Novak
LB - age 26 - Mowling City Tigercats (NSI) - 13 caps - 0 goals
Going into the World Cup, Novak was highly regarded and thought to be challenging for a first team place. However, he was rendered ineligible for a significant part of the season due to an injury suffered in a World Cup qualifier, but on his return, he established himself as one of the top defenders in the Premier Division. The bruising left-back plays hard but fair with no quarter given to opponents, a great sense of timing allowing him to stop attacks dead with a perfectly executed tackle.

22. Vikenti Andonov
CB - age 28 - Litora United - 25 caps - 0 goals
Andonov has been constantly in and out of a first team spot since his first call-up, but believed himself to be largely frozen out of the squad in the later part of Yurovič's reign. Whether he'll get a chance in the Cup of Harmony remains to be seen. The tall, well-built defender has been known to intimidate opponents with both his stature and his playing style, given that a trick he likes to use on opposing players involves a sneaky foul on the blind side of the referee.

23. Lenta Torok
RB - age 26 - AFC Damaciu - 7 caps - 0 goals
Torok has been included in every Kinitar squad since the Baptism of Fire, but has yet to make a significant contribution. He's not expected to get much game time in the upcoming tournament either. He's a competent player at club level, but has found it difficult to make the step up to playing for his country, and has made several significant blunders when he has had a chance to play for Kinitaria. However, he has looked better in recent fixtures and maintains hope of progressing to a first-team spot.

26. Ciprian Marin
CB - age 19 - Universita Tirinthea - 2 caps - 0 goals
Marin came to the attention of Yurovič after a solid season for Tirinthea, making 15 appearances in the club season and contributing some solid defensive displays. Billed as a talent for the future, Marin has impressed in his two friendly appearances, but is unlikely to play a part in the Cup of Harmony campaign. He still has much to learn, and if given a game, is likely to think rashly and dive into challenges without thinking.

Midfielders

6. Sergiu Vacarestič
LW - age 22 - Avnani Athletic - 40 caps - 10 goals
Vacarestič had held down a first-team place for some time when he truly announced his arrival on the world stage with a stunning goal against Polar Islandstates (Kinitaria would go on to lose 1-2). He is an attacking-minded winger who slots perfectly into Kinitaria's formation, and he's just as likely to cut inside and have a go at goal as well as sending in a cross from the left - preferring to cross early and attempt to beat the offside trap.

7. Paolo Naoumov
DM/CM - age 27 - AFC Farnworth (LCP) - 36 caps - 8 goals
Due to incidents in the Premier Division, Naoumov has always been a divisive figure for Kinitar fans, but he's made a lot of progress towards winning them back with some fine performances for the national side. The versatile midfielder prefers pace rather than distribution, his speed allowing him to beat opposing defenders or get on the end of a cross with ease. In his preferred DM role, the determined Naoumov refuses to back down from a challenge and can often be seen making life worse for oncoming attackers.

8. Yulian Kovačev (captain)
CM - age 33 - Mi'ato - 48 caps - 6 goals
A fitting choice for the position of captain, the no-nonsense midfielder has shown himself to be a leader on and off the field. Sure to be a rallying point for his team when things aren't going well, he's also a fairly capable player himself, contributing to the team's cause with some tough tackling and good distribution. On the other hand, his pace isn't what it once was, and he might struggle to last in a high-intensity game.

11. Emil Pročazka
RM - age 30 - 1. Maja - 41 caps - 7 goals
Pročazka is an excellent partner to Vacarestič. It's not uncommon to see the two wingers surge forward to bolster an attack, with Pročazka being the better of the two at crossing, but he's also capable of scoring a good goal. He has enough pace to beat any defender and remains a crucial part of Kinitaria's attacking plan.

12. Rumen Kaloyanov
DM - age 20 - Chyri - 2 caps - 0 goals
15. Samuel Costica
CM - age 19 - Inovita - 3 caps - 0 goals
These two players are very similar, both were part of Yurovič's drive to bring youth players into the senior squad in the latter part of his reign. Both have a long way to develop yet, but Costica proved himself capable of holding up play and winning Kinitaria vital time when he came on in the 2-0 win over Tryienne in qualifying. The tall Kaloyanov can provide backup to a defence with his height, and he'll challenge for every ball, but realistically speaking, it's too soon to expect either player to be involved in a major way.

16. Kristijan Preda
CM/AM - age 25 - Jan Mayen Islanders (PIS) - 35 caps - 6 goals
Another player who's mounting a strong challenge to a first-team place, Preda is an accomplished free-kick taker and can also head a ball well. He's struggled to find his feet for the national team, which is why he fell out of the first team towards the end of qualifying, but boasts an impressive domestic record with 9 goals in 28 appearances for title contenders Mi'ato City, something which got him noticed by leading Polar Islandstates team Jan Mayen Islanders, and he made the switch to the Islanders just before joining up with the Kinitar squad in Turori. He might not be able to run a game himself, but if he's brought on as a sub in a close match, he can make all the difference.

19. Kuzman Laška
LM - age 29 - 1. Maja - 4 caps - 0 goals
Laška is best described as "good, but not excellent". For the past two cycles, he's always been not quite good enough to warrant a first team place, but just about good enough to make it into the 26-man squad. He might get a run-out in a meaningless game but otherwise probably won't feature. For the record, his main strength lies in crossing the ball, with his pace being a key weakness.

20. Leon Cantacuzino
LM - age 27 - Litora United - 28 caps - 6 goals
Litora are lucky that they managed to keep Cantacuzino, because he is an effective all-round player, able to score and create goals in equal measure. When he plays, he'll be the team's corner taker, since he can swing in a good ball from either the left or the right. He prefers to stay wide, use the flanks and cross from the byline, and he can do this very effectively to slice open an opposing defence.

24. Markus von Broh
RW - age 22 - FC Serenberg - 11 caps - 1 goal
Drafted into the side for the Baptism of Fire, von Broh has begun to look like a promising talent for the future. Already with one goal to his name, the short but pacey Serenberg winger has shown the potential for many more and has begun to stake his claim for a first team spot. He will opt for long-range shots rather than taking it closer to goal or passing, and more often than not, the ball just sails over the bar. On the other hand, he's got incredible stamina and won't stop running for the whole 90 minutes.

Attackers

9. Lupan Mihalcič
SS - age 27 - Mi'ato City - 48 caps - 25 goals
One half of the greatest strike partnership in Kinitar football, Mihalcič has proven his quality over and over again. His best position is just behind the main striker - typically Sabčot - from which he can both score and create goals. He can time his runs perfectly to cut through the opposing defence, and prefers to hit a first-time shot rather than using a few valuable seconds to bring the ball under control. Certain to be hungry for more goals during the upcoming tournament.

10. Luka Sabčot
CF - age 26 - Mi'ato City - 50 caps - 43 goals
The man himself. The talisman, the hero, the legend of Kinitar football. Sabčot scores goals for fun, is an outstanding finisher and excellent in one-on-one situations. He's also a bit of a playboy and a joker, and likes to show off in an attempt to impress his many fans. In fact, some might say he's a bit too cocky. But then, with a record like his (including 28 goals in 31 games for his club, Mi'ato City), then he can afford to be. There's nothing he enjoys more - in footballing terms - than embarrassing a goalkeeper to set himself up for a tap-in from close range.

14. Milan Beskid
CF - age 21 - Basil AC (FSS) - 3 caps - 0 goals
Probably one of the finds of the season, Beskid's 14 goals in 35 appearances helped fire his former club, Litora United, to an unprecedented second place finish. However, Litora narrowly avoided going into administration last season and were forced to sell the player. The talented young striker can finish like no other and functions best with a strike partner to spur him on to greater heights. He's not one for spectacular goals, instead, he's a consistent threat to opposition defences if he gets so much as a sight of goal within the penalty area.

25. Čyran Malpomir
CF - age 29 - Mi'ato - 18 caps - 6 goals
Malpomir is an outstanding striker, but the dominance of Mi'ato City's strike partnership makes it difficult for him to force his way into the team. He might play a role in a 4-3-3, which Kinitaria have been known to use if they desperately need goals, but otherwise will mainly act as backup to the two main strikers. He's very gifted as a technical player, and will often tend to try to beat players in the penalty area and open up a clear path for a shot on goal.

Kinitaria play an attacking 4-4-2 formation with a style mod of +2. The wingers will often surge forward to support the attack, which can leave the team vulnerable to counter-attacking, and the defence uses a zonal marking system.

Team Nickname: The Terns

FULL ROSTER:
(Caps in brackets indicate appearances from the bench)

Coach: Gregorz van der Riise, 52
Although more usually found in charge of the u-21s, in the light of Schwartz and his assistants being otherwise occupied at the Copa Rushmori, it has fallen to none other than youth coach Gregorz van der Riise to accompany this rag-tag bunch of players and attempt to give them direction. With the first team at the Copa along with Schwartz and company, van der Riise has been given directions to take a selection of players just outside the first team and a handful of youngsters, with the intention of giving them a last shot at inclusion in the twenty-three for the World Cup qualifiers in a few months time. The team is pretty inexperienced, boasting only 206 caps between all twenty-three players, more than half of which belong to just the two starting wingers, as well as a mere 48 assists and just 13 goals collectively. It is obviously hoped that they'll add to these as the tournament goes on.

Assistants:
Dmitri Karlsson, 43, Goalkeeping Coach
Petter Nikkel, 39, Defensive Coach
Teemu Hansen, 39, Midfield Coach
Timo Skye, 39, Forward Coach

Accompanying van der Riise and this rag-tag collection is a similarly rag-tag bunch of former Terns come back to coach. Including, much to van der Riise's reservation, the predictably unpredictable Timo Skye.

#1 - GK - Ibrahim Baek - Age 25 - FC1. Bjarnarey Flotilla - Uncapped
Some impressive performances for Bjarnarey - pretty much keeping them in the top flight on a number of occasions - means that this younger cousin of the veteran midfielder Casper Baek gets his chance with the Terns for the first time.
#2 - DR - Thor Lossler - Age 30 - SK Franz Josef City - 7(7) Caps, 1 Assist
An experienced head in the league, but hasn't accrued that many international caps. Nonetheless, he'll be a solid presence in the defence.
#3 - DC - Stanislav Dahl - Age 30 - East Franz Athletic - 5(5) Caps
Another experienced head, Dahl is only just now beginning to play his best football following the growing age of his club partner Kowalski meaning he's getting more and more responsibility. Thrives under pressure and is very quick.
#4 - DC - Brede Tchepikov - Age 25 - Renneville United (Osarius) - Uncapped
Older brother of FC Cape St Paul defender Niko Tchepikov, who is away with the first team at the Copa Rushmori, Brede has eked outa reputation in Osarius and now gets his chance for the Terns.
#5 - DL - Kohev Küngas-Vaga - Age 20 - Northbrook Diamonds FK - Uncapped
Impressed as the u-21s captain despite going out in the group stages of the DBC, this defender is well known and trusted by van der Riise, so gets the spot in the first team.
#6 - DMC - Iulian Finnibaturinn - Age 28 - Urbizania Wanderers (Astograth) - 30(12) Caps, 5 Assists, 3 Goals - CAPTAIN
Having just left Surtsey to go to Astograth with the aim of bursting back into the Terns team, it happened rather quicker than he might have expected, has been captain, much to even his surprise.
#7 - MR - Jon Kjaer - Age 30 - Mar Sara FC (Valanora) - 57(23) Caps, 24 Assists, 6 Goals - VICE-CAPTAIN
The individual with the most Terns caps coming into this tournament, Kjaer lost his spot in the Terns first team thanks to Bru's recovery from injury and Huytspurr's growing versatility. Nonetheless, he is vice-captain here despite harbouring few hopes of getting back into the first twenty-three.
#8 - DMC - Casper Baek - Age 31 - FC1. Surtsey Island Gulls - 2(8) Caps, 3 Assists, 1 Goal
Partnering his former Surtsey teammate in the centre of the park will be Casper Baek, elder cousin of Ibrahim, and will be sure to make his experience pay as he makes moves forward during the course of the game. Has never missed a penalty in his entire career.
#9 - ST - Hjalmar Knudsen - Age 30 - Northbrook Diamonds FK - Uncapped
Something of a shock inclusion, Knudsen has been quietly sticking away the goals at club level for Northbrook for a decade now, and has achieved a reputation of reliability and good game-reading. The lone striker role fits him well, and he makes the team here for the first time.
#10 - MC - Marten Cornelius - Age 23 - FC Axel Heiburg - Uncapped
Cornelius comes into the squad having been an inspiring presence for the u-21s in the past, as well as some impressive game-changing performances for Axel Heiburg recently. Expect to see him challenging Lepka for a first team role in the future.
#11 - ML - Ole Berghaus - Age 29 - Red Star Severny - 45(5) Caps - 18 Assists, 3 Goals
With years of experience both abroad and at home, Berghaus also has plenty of experience playing opposite Kjaer for the Terns, making their wide play key to van der Riise's plans here.
Substitutes:
#12 - GK - Aapo Jelavic - Age 22 - FC Axel Heiburg - Uncapped
#13 - GK - Isaac Heron - Age 23 - FC Torshavn - Uncapped
#14 - DMC - Bogdan - Age 22(?) - Jan Mayen Islanders - Uncapped
#15 - DL - Anders de Huiyten - Age 26 - SK Nethers United (Taeshan) - Uncapped
#16 - DR - Eyvindur Krasnaia - Age 23 - Red Star Severny - Uncapped
#17 - MR - Matias Lehne - Age 25 - Northbrook Diamonds FK - Uncapped
#18 - MC - Jean-Eric Villeneuve - Age 19 - Cap Nordique (Cotdelapoms) - Uncapped

#20 - ST - Wojciech Jagr - Age 20 - FC Axel Heiburg - Uncapped
#21 - ML - Felix Zajaczek - Age 22 - FC Solovetsky Monastery - Uncapped
#22 - DC - Vojta Vlaschenko - Age 20 - FC Cape St Paul - Uncapped
#23 - DC - David Wien - Age 20 - Caernville Seahawks (Liventia) - Uncapped

A quick note on the substitutes, all of whom are uncapped and all of whom have played for van der Riise at u-21 level - aside from Anders de Huiyten, who arrives as something of an unknown from the Taeshani leagues. Jelavic, Bogdan, Krasnaia, Villeneuve, Illich-Svitych, and Wien in particular are the names to watch out for.

TACTICS: 4-2-3-1
After seeing what Berbiz Munduarte has announced as the Astograthi tactics for this tournament, van der Riise has had a little bit of a sulk on the behalf of Schwartz's honour, and so, in a complete copycat move, has elected to copy the Astograthi first team tactics. Perfectly embodying the host-encouraged oblique strategy of What would your closest friend do, the tactics used will mimic the Olibondeka's usual 4-2-3-1, as we see the Terns elect to copy the tactics that knocked them out of the last World Cup at the quarter-final stage.
Penalty Taker: Casper Baek (NB: As per the description above, Baek has never missed a penalty in his career - so if you RP an awarded penalty and Baek in on the field at the time, he MUST score it - thanks.)
Free Kick Taker: Jon Kjaer/Marten Cornelius
Corner Taker: Ole Berghaus/Jon Kjaer

Starting line-up
-------------------------- I. Baek --------------------------
--- Lossler ---- Tchepikov -- Dahl ---- Küngas-Vaga ---
------------------ C. Baek - Finnibaturinn ----------------
--- Kjaer --------------- Cornelius ------------ Berghaus ---
-------------------------- Knudsen --------------------------

THE OPPONENT CAN
Choose my goalscorers? Yes
Godmod scoring events? Yes
RP injuries to my players? Yes, within reason, and I reserve the right to change the severity in a follow-up RP. No deaths, please.
Godmod injuries to my players? Yes, as above
Hand out yellow cards to my players? Yes
Hand out red cards to my players? Yes, but only 2 per match maximum.
Godmod other events? TG me first, but I'm always open to ideas. Particularly where Timo Skye is involved. I do have plans for him during WC qualifying though, so nothing that would keep him from his duties there. Thanks.

The Nonexistant Holy Empire of Monastery-on-the-Rock, Random Ocean, Rushmore

"But...I don't quite understand. You're saying what?"

"I say, that should Carmadin refuse to acknowledge our existance as a footballing nation, we should do something to bring judgement on their football team"

"But....but what? We do not exist, and the football team is not in any tournaments"

"Yes! We don't exist, and have you heard of the Brevity Challenge Cup?"

***

And so it was that the holy spirit was altered by Brother Barnabas, to bring divine judgement onto those who did not trust in the grace of god through the Monastery, and the National Football offices had their files erased, and replaced with the language of an eleven year old boy.
And so came the national reserve team, and they were now in

The Grand n00bery
Brevity Challenge Cup 3

lol here's my team giys sry if its hard 2 understand u no carmadese is a wierd language nothing like english.

so here u go every1 use this 2 rp or watever lol
i put the starters in bold so u cn c them :)

coach-jesahk maehku

hes a good coach, he wants to lead carmadin to a win in this tournament.

goalie-kahlag'hkol jaeht, sahdag ukil

hes a good goalie, but sometimes he lets the ball in.

defense- haehdur chaehshuuk, dahlmah ohk, pohtur jeh maehlwaht, lehntur daehcheht, gohndoh chow, jehstoh jahn

they are a good defensive team and rthey stop[ the other team from scoring

midfield- taehd gahlehn, ohtoshk mah, daehvihd ohlkeht, pohdur chehnjihzh, sahlmohn dehs, halkur tahlmoh

the midfield gives the ball to the forwards so they can score :)

forwards- fahleht rohdeht, haldur chingzur, ehthur taehroyz

the forwards score goals so carmadin can crush every1 lol\

"about the team"

the rank should be like 6 or something i guess
the style mod should be +5 so we score and beat every1 cuz we will win

our strategy will be:

where's the edge? where does the frame start?

lol cuz r team is very abstract we will score even if u dnt c us do it cuz we r just that awesome u will be saying this while we score goals and beat u 6-0.

lol gud luck 2 every1 in the tornemtnt even tho we will beat u all lol

No, I haven't been hacked. This is a slightly odd idea that came to me, and it sort of fits with those pesky nonexistant monks. So, the BCC is short RPs. So, I'll RP short and really bad, to get credit for "what an original and funny RP idea you came up with, Carm", and it will work. Or maybe not. Either way, I'll have fun doing it

1. Short for the National Equestrian Sports Council. The NESC is the agency of the Equestrian government responsible for organizing the national teams of the Equestrian States as well as running any and all international tournaments to take place on the islands of the nation.
2. The Equestria Cup is the regional hoofball tournament of the Pony Lands and Equestria. It is run and hosted by the Equestrian States.
3. The all-time statistics do not include games during Di Bradini Cup 24 as the team was designated as the U-21 squad and included several members of the Equestrian national team that were under the age of 21 at the time of the tournament as well as the entire U-12 roster. The U-21 squad finished with a record of 2-1-1 overall, taking second place in their group before losing to Kiryu-shi in the round of sixteen.
Other Notes: Hoofball is what most ponies in the Equestrian States call the sport of association football as it is known as to many human nations. Most non-equines in the Equestrian States call the sport either by its traditional Equestrian name, or refer to it as soccer as is popular in other nations.

The Pony Republic of Equestrian States
National U-12 Hoofball Team - Brevity Challenge Cup 3 Roster

Team Background
After participating in the Di Bradini Cup, the colts and fillies of the Equestrian U-12 team return to the Brevity Challenge Cup, this time being hosted in the nation of Wight, where they will be looking to improve upon their Copper Plate-winning performance in the tournament’s second edition.

The U-12 team was first sent to the Greg Jackson Charity Cup, where they were expected by most to fail miserably and likely fail to advance beyond the group stage. However, the fillies and colts of the team performed extraordinarily well, advancing to the quarterfinals ahead of several reserve and U-21 squads. Though the foals would fall to the eventual runners-up, the team's victories provided entertainment to those fans that enjoyed watching older and more experienced players fail to stop the youth of the Equestrian States.

When the NESC1 was determining a team to compete in the second Brevity Challenge Cup, they decided to send the U-12 squad once again. Despite the success of the team in the Greg Jackson Charity Cup, the colts and fillies weren’t expected to make it very far in the invitational tournament. To the pleasant surprise of many, the team drew twice in the group stage before falling against Princess Beatrice Island. Relegated to the Copper Plate bracket, the team Equestrians would win three straight games to capture the Plate and finally get some domestic news coverage.

Looking to offer the team another chance at success, the U-12s were selected by the NESC to compete in Equestria Cup III2 as the national team was in the midst of a run at qualifying for World Cup 60. However, against the ambitious national teams in the regional tournament, the team would struggle. Finishing with a record of 0-2-2, they failed to advance beyond the group stage, though they did gain some respect from the region’s teams for their performance.

The team would go on after the Equestria Cup to participate in the Di Bradini Cup as the majority of the official Equestrian U-21 team that also included members of the national team. In the tournament, the Equestrians advanced to the knockout stage after finishing second in their group with a record of 2-1-0, their one draw coming against the group’s winner. However, the run was halted in the next match by the tournament’s eventual champions Kiryu-shi in penalty kicks after letting an early lead escape them.

All-Time Stats3
Style Modifier: -2.5
Record: 11-6-9 (2-1-1 at BCC-3)
Achievements: Quarterfinals at the Greg Jackson Charity Cup, Copper Plate Champions at Brevity Challenge Cup 2
Oblique Strategy: Don't be afraid of things because they're easy to do - The players of the U-12 squad will be looking to the basics during this Brevity Challenge Cup. Some teams fear choosing the easy plays because they make them look weak, but the Equestrian States does not fear looking weak or pathetic temporarily, as long as they win in the end.

Darmeni National Football Team

Coaching Staff
Manager: Tim O'Donahaue
Assistant Manager: William von Kriesler
Offensive Coach: Tony Bordeck
Defensive Coach: Jason Erickson
Goalkeeping Coach: Robert Yelton
Physio: Yoram Abrahams

Style Modifier: +5
Strategy: Ask your body. When you're tired, and just want to give up, ask your body for more. It'll probably pay off.
Formation: 3-5-2 is the first choice and will be used in just about every match. The 3-4-3 may also make some appearances.

Goalkeepers
Name Age Club
Troy Osborne 29 Eau Claire Aris FC
Kimi Siesman 22 Chippewa Falls Strykers
Thulani Daniels 31 South Darmen United
Brad Schreier 24 Rogerton Whitecaps
Brady Summon 22 Eau Claire United
Osborne and Siesman will most likely be the ones guarding the net, and will likely start on an every other game basis. Daniels will most likely make appearences only if Darmen is up by several goals and time is winding down. Schreier and Summon will only play if one of the other three Keepers are injured.

Defenders
Name Age Club
Mikael Adan 26 Scott City FC
Dustin Nguyen 28 Scott City FC
Charm Vue 27 Eau Claire Aris FC
Scott Rydzik 25 Eau Claire Aris FC
Donald Sheen 33 Eau Claire United
Oguchi Findley 22 Chippewa Falls Strykers
Johan Garza 22 Chippewa Falls Strykers
Matt Flemer 22 Rogerton Whitecaps
Arik Sikula 22 Forden
Trevor Goodwin 23 Eau Claire Aris FC
Terrence Sinapati 23 Menomonie United
Adan, Nguyen, and Vue will most likely be the starting back three. Rydzik and Sheen will provide the backup should one of the starters grow tired. Findley, Garza, Flemer, Sikula, Goodwin, and Sinapati will be there if needed, but will most likely see more practise than actuall game time.

Midfielders
Name Age Club
Luca Cormio 24 Scott City FC
Danny Beasley 28 Scott City FC
Zach Preston 31 Scott City FC Vice-Captain
Tor Tong Lee 25 Scott City FC Captain
Jake Gibbons 27 Eau Claire Aris FC
Gene Turko 22 Eau Claire United
Aaron Gibbons 29 Eau Claire Aris FC
Jack Chaves 30 Darmen City FC
Francisco Lyons 21st 22 Eau Claire United
Dan Lipari 34 Johnho FC
Andy Judkins 32 Forden
Nicky Salapu 23 Menomonie United
Charles Ramirez 23 Menomonie United
Javier Zakuani 23 Brham United
Josimar Son 22 Darmen City FC
Steve Nystizor 22 Johnho FC
Maika Molesi 22 Menomonie United
The Big Three is no more, after former Captain Zach Preston was removed from the starting line up due to a very poor performance at the Copa Rushmori, where he failed to even score a single goal. Preston has been relegated to the bench. Captain Tor Tong Lee, Luca Cormio, and Gene Turko are what some are calling the "Little Three", but Lee doesn't like that. "I'm the best player in the whole nation, and Cormio and Turko are very good. We're not the Big Three anymore, we're THE THREE." Joining "THE THREE" in the midfield will be Jake Gibbons and Dan Lipari.

Forwards
Name Age Club
Dan Baker 33 Eau Claire Aris FC
Bryan Faulkner 28 Scott City FC Vice-Captain
Abraham Gibbons 31 Eau Claire Aris FC
Roberto Gregio 22 Eau Claire United
Sergio Autitore 22 Chippewa Falls Strykers
Fernando Grevsthan 22 Menomonie United
Natt Dittman 22 Forden
Sean Whale 31 Menomonie United
Adam McKay 25 Chuckio FC
Charmaine Hooper 23 Brham United
George Pele 25 Chippewa Falls Strykers
Faulkner and Gregio will be the two starting, and itching to score goals. Baker and Abraham Gibbons will be the main substitutes, while Autitore, Grevsthan, Dittman, Whale, McKay, Hooper, and Pele will be held in Reserve.

Player Roles
Direct free kicks: Tor Tong Lee
Indirect free kicks: Zach Preston

Bernie,

Reporting on our loss to Aguazul. We were overmatched, but conceded only one goal. Wickham had a few attempts, but was unable to convert for us. I remain hopeful, however. Gabe's hamartia is simple: his press is effective, but collapses with a weak defense. I will give you balance.

Wandering Dragon

After a promising start, we faded, the States Shining Star netting two towards the end, after the Red Dragons failed to hold them out. This a result of Ken Rickwright's hamartia in getting a red card - we could feel the malevolence of the referees fiery breath breathing on necks.

Hallelujah! One nil, and
A room full of butterflies have settled in our tummies.
Manetreal flew with easy grace,
Aels played with skill and heart,
Rainbowcatcher won the day in nets.
The anonymous Aelsh keeper
In a single slip let Skysparkle deceive him
And Featherdance struck home the only goal.
We're a country of magical winged ponies up in the clouds!
And yes, some are pink.

City Chicken !!!

We won Michael VII with a 2-0 scoreline and this time round. Who gave us the courage? Chickens of course!
Michael VII were like chickens,
I guess they haven't learnt walking before they even tried to play football!
I guess the ball just go flying around rather than them flying.
