I'm going to have to agree with Lyanna on this. Facts are good, opinions are good. Opinions masquerading as facts are not.

So, if facts are good, why are you making up things that Unibot said?

I've admitted to using hyperbole. However, I did then quote Uni in the official update saying that "Islamophobia runs deep within the Black Riders", which is tantamount to accusing TBR of being a group made up largely of raging Islamophobes, with only an out-of-context-quote from Halcones, and some raids on some Muslim regions, to back up his point.

Don't be deceived when our Revolution has finally been stamped out and they tell you things are better now even if there's no poverty to see, because the poverty's been hidden...even if you ever got more wages and could afford to buy more of these new and useless goods which these new industries foist on you, and even if it seems to you that "you never had so much" - that is only the slogan of those who have much more than you.

There's a whole topic on this viewtopic.php?f=12&t=200558

We'll just end up covering the same ground if we start again in here.

Fair enough. I'm still not happy with Unibot's update, but if there's a place for it, I may as well go and shout over there.

FreeSoc out. :p

I think the islamophobia is mostly concentrated in the Gen. Staff. I have no sympathy however for the soldiers in TBR who know this to be true and still pretend otherwise or just say nothing now.

I'd like to point out that correlation doesn't necessarily mean cause and effect. Just because you see a trend, does not mean that it isn't coincidence. The saying "correlation doesn't necessarily mean cause and effect" has been used in business for years, and I know that because well, my dad's a MBA.

The saying is 'correlation doesn't imply causation', not 'cause and effect' :P

Or, if we want to use the proper Latin name for the fallacy, cum hoc ergo propter hoc.

Your version would be cum hoc ergo propter hoc cum hoc, I think.

1) This is why we have statistical significance.

2) I can't think of a reason why there would be a correlation (not saying there is without the full and correct data) without causation. Can you?

Quite interesting that you say this, especially in light of Bels comment:

Belschaft wrote:As such, I would suggest any statements made by Unibot on this matter be considered his own opinion, and not that of the UDL, its members, or officers.

So by your logic Uni, I assume we're ok to disregard Bels attempts at salvaging UDLs repution and instead have no sympathy for the UDL members who know what their leader is like, know the views that are being put out into NS in the name of their organisation and still choose to remain in it?

So...Islamophobia "runs deep" in the organization, but not deeper than the five or six people at the top? You really are making this us as you go along, aren't you?

"Islamophobia runs deep within the TBR squadron."

If it's confined to the top brass, and I doubt even they're Islamphobic, then it doesn't run deep, obviously.

This is not complicated.

Unibot thinks the correlation/trend of an odd number of Islamic based regions being targeted, is an effect of TBR being anti-Islamic. That where I am going with this, and I do think that Uni is jumping to conclusions here, though I must admit I shall look into the fact myself, but I doubt this is anything more than a coincidence.

I think it's more that the Black Riders just dislike everyone in general, because I couldn't even complain about defenders using my name off the site without getting suppressed, banned, and threatened with invasion. That's pretty low, really. Especially from the big commander at the top of the region.

About that… Could you tell your defender friends to stop using my name, Oceania, off of the site? I know it's convincing, but when there's a lulzy attempt like there was on the TBH forums, it sort of dents my reputation…

TBR's raided Ether three times in a row now, one the 20th, 24th, and 25th. Can we get two or three Defenders to move in and keep hold of the region until the Black Riders lay off the innocent place? They're ejecting one person each time, and I won't be surprised if they raid again tonight.

You won't get any names. Oceania/Republicania is almost undoubtedly the same person who was banned from TBR for posting the manual online but somehow he still thinks he's a master spy who can fool people by blaming the defenders for framing him.

Sorry you are upset about it. Unfortunately, your region falls very early in the update and is thus in a highly vulnerable position. It's either Ether or Magicka to start things off each update, sorry. Maybe you could talk to the admin about moving Ether further down the update order? :P
