Jade creates and manipulates fields of force that create a repulsive effect. It doesn't do anything dangerous, unless you aren't immune to momentum, of course. The problem is that it stops whatever hits it dead, unless the blow is strong enough to break through in one shot. And of course, since it doesn't have anywhere to move, being a mental construct, the reverberating force is exactly equal - but in the opposite direction - of the original force. Imagine someone punching the fist you punched with, and that's the effect. She uses it as armor and shielding, although she can also do it over short distances. Of course, that's if Night says it's okay...
Weaknesses: Terrible at reading social cues. TERRIBLE. As in completely misses them, sometimes even if (perhaps despite or because) they're blatantly obvious.
Personality: She's usually kind, but tends to be shy around new people, especially if they approach unexpectedly or pester her without letting her respond. She likes to hang out with her friends, few though there are. She often appears too gentle to be a fighter, but finds sparring to be annoying because of the reason that when she is provoked to fight, she doesn't hold back.
History: Jade was born in the United States of America - technically New England, but that's not the point right now - and quickly found a passion when a friend at school introduced her to fencing. It allowed her a way to fight, to go full out, and yet not hurt anyone. She lived a life of comfort and peace, always having what she wanted, the newest clothes and games, the trendiest phones, always a perfectly-made room, all of that. However, her parents had taken out loans from multiple people - including an offshoot of the Irish Mob, and Jade found this out in the worst way possible. When she returned from a fencing competition, her home was burning down, her parents trapped inside. She ran, and ran, and ran, trying to escape this madness, and eventually found some friends - a roving trio of siblings that were training new-found magical powers.

When they stumbled across her, she had freaked out, and attacked them with her saber, still wearing the coarse jacket of her fencing gear, the helmet long forgotten at the site of her burning house. She only managed to save herself from their retaliation by using her magic - a strong field of recursive kinetic force, essentially an invisible shield for herself, wrapping itself around her to block strikes from the trio of kids. Eventually, worn out, she collapsed - but so did one of those new kids, and as such, they accepted her begrudgingly - so she traveled with the two brothers and their sister.

They died, of course.

Eventually she found her way to Elfen High, a string of lost friends and tears in her wake, arriving a shy girl in a odd outfit - well, odd for the 'normal' world - with a sword far unlike the one she left home with, and skills far beyond those she started with. As for how? She was caught, eventually, when another magic-user brought her there, shortly after finding her. He vanished, leaving her in tears for once, making her know how she made everyone she left behind feel - perhaps that's what made her shy.
Right-o, if you missed it, her power is making shields a la mage armor or the like. Practically invisible to the naked eye, but strong as... something strong. Fairly difficult to break, unless you're horrendously strong.

Actually, Nietzsche stopped biting me, and he's all soft, cuddly, and adorable now.

Nah, you did the magic wrong.

You don't put points in it. You get 8 points from the magic catagory, and you can do spells. For example, you could have:

Level 6 Shielding
Level 2 Healing

You also don't take points out of your original 16 for magic-you have 8 points specifically for that.

On the subject of italics, I honestly don't give a damn about the font your character speaks in as long as it doesn't hurt my eyes. I find these italics annoying as hell, but it isn't much of an issue. Just keep your posts decent and don't be overly stupid.

Besides, if I banned italics from Aeten, I'd be a fucking hypocrite since an upcoming bad guy in this arc speaks in italics.
