In theory Close Range Assault Mode works pretty damned well in the single player campaign, but trying to take that into a multiplayer arena is....problematic to say the least.

My main complaint with Assault Horizon is the distractions. The bomber mission, yeah ok, but the chopper gunner missions? Why oh why? Who in the blue hell approved that?! And don't get me started on the timed button-press plane chase.

Ace Combat 6 was really nice; I will often engage planes with the gun in AC6, but I don't want to do it in an arcade-style. If I need to pull up for whatever reason, I don't want to have to do anything but push the thumbstick back to do it. The plane pretty much flew itself in DFM, which majorly annoyed me.

Except AC6 introduced us to another annoyance: the High-G Turn.

After that instructional the Starfox comparisons came thick and fast.

I actually think the high-G turn was a great idea. it was also good how you could not over use it.

Also anyone who likes the music from ace combat I have found the best place to get it.

The High-G turn - like ASM - was actually a good addition to the AC series.

At least IMO.

I don't see what's wrong with it it actually Improved some of the dogfighting. But it's not something I reacted to like "oh my god it's perfect!" more like "okay that's interesting" so I wouldn't really care if they did away with it because your right you can use the throttle to the same effect. especially with the CFA-44.

The high-G turning lended some rare credibility to AC. With some planes - Thunderbolt, namely - High-G turns were just stall-inducing monsters. But with stuff like the Raptor and Berkut, well, I could easily out-turn the Strigon team.

I have owned AC5, AC6, and ACX at various times.

AC5 was my favorite of the group.

I'm planning on getting a PS2 and getting 04, 5, and 0.
it is ultimately class which divides us.
I go by they/them now.

That is is, that it is. I felt it was better than AC5 because you could actually CHOOSE your plane's SP Weapons and there were more Color Schemes to collect as well.

I swear I pulled of a Pugachev's Cobra maneuver once during AC6 and got behind the tail of a sum-bitch and lit him up.

Dude, I've actually tried doing that once in AC04 and actually pulled it off with an S-37. But for the love of God, I can't figure out why I wan't able to do it again after that.

I do Herbst maneuvers all the time in Berkuts! I've tried the Cobra a lot, but the physics engine doesn't do inertia so well. The plane always just goes straight up. Still, frolov chakras are ironically easier.
