Another Close-Shave

The Regulars eked out another one-point win against the Dagans of Cassadaigua, this time by hanging on and benefiting from a well-timed gaffe by the Dagans' offensive line after Leif Erikson did some of his best work against the vaunted Dagan secondary. The defense managed to do a good job keeping the Dagans in check; they only officially reached the endzone once, and but nearly did it a second time thanks to a blown responsibility by an over-eager Danley Vicious, who reminded the coaching staff that he may be talented, but he's also young, hot-headed, and still learning.

"I've talked to Danley about it," defensive coordinator Daniel Rickenbacker said on the matter. "We're going to go over it again when we go over film tomorrow, but he's aware of his mistake and told me he intends to pay more attention to detail and to be more attentive to his responsibilities to ensure it doesn't happen again."

Vicious' mistake was luckily canceled out by a holding penalty drawn by one of the Dagans' offensive linemen, which got Meaghan Sunderland's explosive run called back, which nearly undid Leif Erikson's 21/29, 303 yard, 2 touchdown game against one of the world's best secondaries. The strength of the passing attack came in sharp contrast to the fact that the Dagans managed to largely stifle one of the world's most prolific rushing attacks, probably thanks to the number of times they've had to face the Allamunnic running game.

But on a night when Ryan Myers, Danyl Wyndhorst, and Ole Nurdsunn had trouble getting anything going and were stuffed time and again, the Dagans apparently had no answer to Erikson; he tore through the Dagans secondary without much problem, putting up one of his better games.

"I think this is really a huge sign of Leif's potential," head coach Ryan Smart said. "When he's at the top of his game, not even the Dagans can stop him. It's just having to work on consistency that's the problem." Erikson's two touchdowns were big ones, too; Mikel Dunn snagged a 46-yarder off of a blown coverage where he was able to get behind the Dagans' safeties. The second one came off a bit of route-trickery that saw Willy Theodore manage to sneak up the middle completely uncovered for an easy 12-yard toss into the endzone.

"This is why we can't ever be confident in qualifying. This game -- that call -- could have just as easily gone the other way," Smart said, "If we'd lost by one instead of winning by one, we'd be on the outside looking in for the playoff picture. So the Karditanis can sneer all they want on our refusal to take qualifying for granted; the fact is, it's never a sure thing until the final whistle is blown and you've beaten your opponents."

Vitali: It's the final countdown between Jason Wood and Greg Tanner.

#3- Qazox is bringing back the QAG (Qazoxian Association of Gridiron) next year. No teams have yet been announced, but will the league last longer than the 5 years the original one did?

I think it will. Last time around they started the league in a depression and it, along with every other sports league, just couldn't survive. Now with the Qazoxian economy stronger than it's been in over 100 years, the league should thrive.
I don't think that it will last longer than 5 years. Gridiron's always been a niche sport in Qazox, ranking behind Football, Baseball and Hockey. Though if a new Basketball league was to start, the Gridiron league would last longer than a basketball league would.

Point to Jason (+1).

#2- World Cup Qualifers begin tonight, as Qazox faces Zarbli. Gimme a final score.
5-2 Qazox.
4-0 Qazox..

Point to each. (+1) (+1).

#1- Next game for Qazox is Monday night at Abcdefghijklmnopqrstuk, who wins and gimme a final score.
24-20 Qazox.
31-17 Qazox.

Tough call, but one point to each. (+1) (+1). Today's winner: Jason Wood, here's your 20 seconds of fame.

I still don't know why everyone's still so bullish on Jim Zebow. He's an above average QB at best and there's been nothing he's done so far that has impressed me. Last game he throws 3 INTs in a span of 6 passes, and it was the defense that kept Qazox from losing against the Icemark. If Qazox is going to advance past the first round Zebow's got to play better than he has been.

Alright. We're on a 47 1/2 hour break, as the QHL draft is tommorrow. See you on Friday if you are able for Circling the Table!

BRO CALL!

"Hey dudes, it's Chad!"

Chad!

"J to the R, JR here"

JR!

"And this is..."

Bro Football!

Chad: Hey dudes and dudettes, welcome to Bro Football, your number one source of brotastic news in the world of football! So how have those shirts been selling JR?

JR: Not too good bro, no one has sent any requests yet.

Chad: Don't worry about it dude, just give them time. Anyways, the Rams beat Khabarovsk Krai yesterday 30-6, finally not only getting revenge for that last loss, but also taking first place in the group!

"the two high five each other"

JR: And even better, the host released general stats along with the scores, and wow how about the Rams offense? An average of 30 points per game. Now that's good.

Chad: It also reveled something else though, the team from Thrilledge has a average of 28.29 and are close to scoring more points than the Rams.

JR: So what your saying is, we got some lamo posers trying to top us?

Chad: Super lamo posers JR, super lamo poster.

JR: Ah yes right.

Chad: Alright then, we will be right back after this commercial break.

Jameson shows World why she’s our QB

Brianna Jameson will be the first to tell you that her game last night against Vietlambodiamardesh (Hereafter to be referred to as simply “Viet”) will not cancel out all of her subpar games over the last two World Bowls, but it was nice at least, to see that she can play like she does at home, on the international stage. Brianna has been unable to make a name for herself in the World Bowl, unless “that inefficient broad in pink” can count as such a distinction. The defense has made her look good, and some wonder why coach Rinaldi continues to put her under center. Well, she tried, as you may recall in World Bowl 17 qualifying to start Caitlyn Jennings, and that went just as poorly. The team is likely grooming 23-year old Jessica Minor for the starting job, but is unwilling to give the 6'6" gunslinger the starting job yet.

For a day, Jameson was on the money.
Confidence likely rose as she completed her first 8 passes, and Cassadaigua scored 21 points on their first three possessions. Jameson had three touchdown passes, spreading the wealth to Meghan Townsend first, Kiersten Carmichael second, and Lauren Barnett third. Up 21-0, those watching the game at home liked what they saw. Even when Cassadaigua allowed a touchdown, Shannon Jackson’s block of the extra point made even that a positive end to the Viet drive. The defense was strong, including a Lawrence Shaver sack in the endzone of the Viet quarterback to make it 23-6 with the safety. In the second half, Meaghan Sunderland busted off a 72-yard touchdown run, completing a productive day of 141 yards on 24 carries, and Jameson threw her 4th TD pass of the game, and the second hauled in by Carmichael to make it 37-6. An interception returned for a touchdown by Ericka Lapage put the pink and black up 44-6 in the 4th quarter, and the team was well on their way to a victory and Viet’s TD with 1:12 left in the game was completely meaningless. Altogether, Jameson went 25-for-33, for 339 yards, 4 TD’s and 0 INT’s.

That’s why she’s on the team.

More of that now, would be nice.

Redayan Sport Channel (RSC)
RSC 18th World Bowl Coverage
Hosted by Sok Liszan.

Yo Yo Yo my friends, welcome to the exclusive RSC coverage on the 18th World Bowl. I am Sok Liszan, and I have been dared by our manager to say Yo Yo Yo when starting today's program. So together, we will explore the fleshy lands called football.

As RSC had predicted, Game Eight ended with Redaya massacring the Deandean98 players, ending the game 33-0 with a win for Redaya. This was the highest Redaya has ever managed to score against a foreign team and may it not be the last! This provided a much needed morale boost for the Redayan players as they prepare to fight against the second high-ranked team of the group, Cassadaigua.

Many cheers could be heard in the streets of Marga, the capital of Redaya, as fans celebrated Redaya's third victory in the World Bowl. They were so loud whilst yelling in pride in the middle of the night, that it made residents call the police in order to tell them to keep it quiet. But then again, maybe they should have decided to celebrate this event somewhere other than the neighbourhood dedicated to senior citizens who wanted to sleep without having to put on noise-proof headphones...

Anyway, as you may recall from yesterday's and today's program, the next match will pit the Redayan Football Team against the fearsome and experienced Cassadaigua team. As Dadara Famil said, Game Nine is the ultimate test to see if Redaya is able to win the World Bowl or not. And these two nights are going to create some suspense too as it is vital for Redaya to win Game Nine and Game Ten with the highest possible scores as one mistake may lead to the destruction of the Redayan Team's dream of winning the World Bowl.

Once again, we have the best analyst in team, Jolo Mardanezad, tell us about whether or not we can win in a match against Cassadaigua. Let's look at the analysis, shall we?

Will Redaya Win Game Nine?

Redaya's Chances:
WinDrawLoss
19%37%44%

Only a nineteen percent chance of winning? Sounds like the odds are stacked against us, but let us hope for the best and may the Shepist Light give the Redayan players the strength to win.

Alright, time for the....

Dark Cave!

Dark Cave - Ask Your Questions And Don't Faint
Caller: Howdy! Heard the team is gonna be rocking against those Cassa-somethings, true?

Sok Liszan: Considering throughout the entire program we never failed to not mention Game Nine is against Cassadaigua, I believe I have to say yes to your question. Okay, next caller's from Marga, the capital of Redaya.

Caller: Is Famil gay?

Sok Liszan: What? How can you say something like that so calmly and hang up afterwards?! No, Famil is not gay although nobody is sure... Next one's from Babata, a town somewhere in the north of Redaya.

Caller: Hi! I just wanted to say, I totally loved the new analysis you guys do on the team and its chances. Makes it easier for me to when it comes to betting on a team. Oh yeah, my question, has Cassadaigua lost more matches than Redaya or has it lost more? Thanks!

Soz Liszan: Alright miss, let me tell you, if defeating Cassadaigua was a piece of cake, nobody would be calling it the ultimate test for the Redayan football team. Out of the eight games played in the Bowl so far, they lost only two times and won the other times while Redaya lost five times in those eight matches. The odds are, once again, stacked against us. Anyway, we have a call from eastern Marga.

Caller: Hey hey! Sup, pal? It true Famil is gay?

Soz Liszan: What is it with are-you-gay theories and people these days? So, we are nearly at the end of the program now. Thank you to those who called!

Last Minute:

Alright everybody, program is almost at its end and we gotta say goodbye. If you missed anything, you can watch the recorded version of the program at our website which you can find at the address written on the red banner at the top of the screen. If you wish to call us and ask a question at the Dark Cave, then call us at the number written directly below our website address.

Thank you for watching RSC and see you soon!

Special World Bowl Eighteen Coverage

Take That!

Not repeating their mistake from their first match with Karditan in World Bowl Eighteen, the Regulars were able to lay a licking on the Ironworkers, and the game was, honestly, nowhere near as close as it looks; it was only after the Regulars had taken a 30-10 lead and the back-ups taking over to run out the clock and spell the starters that the Ironworkers proved capable of moving the ball much. Of course, by then, in the early fourth quarter, it was too little, and much too late.

Honorius Waalturs ended up registering 2.5 sacks and forced a safety by tackling Light Step in the backfield after a stalled drive and a well-placed punt by Wayne Scott. The safety, which came in the late 2nd-quarter with the Regulars ahead 14-7 turned it into a 16-7 game, and, after Leif Erikson snapped a touchdown pass to Izaak Rolle (31-yards, if you were wondering) a 23-7 game. The Ironworkers would score on further field-goal by the half, making it 23-7 entering half-time.

The game would be put away late in the third quarter when Danyl Wyndhorst, trying to run down the clock, instead broke a 52-yard touchdown run to seal the deal. The reserves would be enough to prevent a ten-point surge from the Ironworkers from becoming anything more than a slight loss in cushioning.

One Streak Ends, Another Continues

One streak for the defense of Yesopalitha was broken in their game against Vettera. The Flames' defense conceded a field goal midway through the third quarter, breaking a fifteen-quarter scoreless streak. However, their dominance continued as the "not give up a touchdown" streak hit seventeen quarters, as Vettera's only touchdown came on a muffed punt returned for a touchdown in the fourth quarter.

Of course, the most important streak still intact for this team is the winning streak: they have won eight games and are in excellent position to qualify to the playoffs even if they lose the next game against Osarius, who have been rocky as of late.

The offense, with Sandil Ren and Isildil at running back, had a rough start, going three-and-out in the first four drives as they couldn't get anything going. That all changed with two minutes in the second quarter as Ren led the Flames to a textbook two-minute drive, finishing with Isildil's one-yard touchdown plunge with ten seconds left in the half. In that drive, Ren completed three third-down conversions, keeping the drive alive and giving the fans hope.

In the third, the Flames really dominated with Julia Carter forcing a fumble off of Vettera's running back. She returned it to the five yard line, and Isildil scored his second touchdown of the game. The ensuing kickoff was also fumbled, and Yesopalitha took advantage with a field goal off of Van Allen, who has been perfect.

Though Vettera did score on the muffed punt return, the Flames are playing their best football as of date, and it is the perfect time to do so: Osarius comes, with two losses, looking to avenge their earlier loss, and to also gain ground as Vettera and they are jostling for second place.

The Sacred Heart should be the venue for another classic clash... One between an established side in Osarius and a rising side in the Flames.

Lines in the Coach's Journal:

Another win! And with two to go, we are still tied with Space! What?! That is crazy!

Dawson is in a zone these days. He threw for over three hundred and fifty yards, with over eighty percent efficiency, four touchdowns, and zero interceptions. Jack Desmondain and Temple caught the TD passes, while the offensive line was just brilliant. They gave Dawson so much time that he had all day to dissect the defense.

Our defense played a decent game. Gave up one TD on a bomb, and other than that, a field goal at the end. Crolacia did seem to have time, but the secondary was so good that they couldn't find anyone to get the ball to. I believe those are considered, "coverage sacks".

With the team peaking at the right time, I believe we do have a legitimate chance at making the knockout rounds. Yes, the next two games will decide it all, but I can't help but feel more and more optimistic every game.

Even if we fall short, can't help but be so proud of these lads. They've come a long ways from being the squabbling, immature jerks that were given to me on first day of practice.

So, whether we make it or fall short, let's go out fighting, together!

Vitali: Welcome back to Circling the Table. here's the scores before Foul Territory:

Erica 15
Bob 14
Greg 12
Regina 10

Alrgith after last night's 27-3 win over Abcdefghijklmnopqrstuk that all but locked up a playoff berth for the Sharks; Qazox Linebacker Sean van der Hann Tweeted this:
Sharks r unstoppable now! Gonna roll right thru every1. Gimme our trophy!
#WorldBowl18Champs

Coach Harper waived off the tweet as just over-exuberance from a player. But will something like this be more likely to help or harm Qazox down the line?

It will hurt Qazox down the line, as van der Hann has now just given everyone who Qazox may face in the playoffs something to rally around. (+1)(+1). Qazox has had a history as of late in the World Bowl of having either someone on the team, or the media, and I'm not an exception; (+1) write checks their asses can't cash. (+1). If Qazox doesn't win, this will comeback hard on van der Hann.

It's not that big of a deal. Look at the Tweeter accounts of almost any other player from other teams and at least 1 or 2 have said similar statements about their team. (+1)(+1). At worst, it's a rallying point for Qazox' opponents, but it could be a rallying cry for the Sharks as well. (+1) So I think it will just balance out. (+1)

If van der Hann had been playing and will play like he thinks Qazox wll the rest of the way, then I'd have no problem with it. (+1). But of all the defenders on the team, van der Hann has the fewest tackles, (+1), and he's been run over more times than a dead skunk on I-33. (+1)(+1)(+1). But overall this shouldn't be that big a deal, last time I checked he had only 1700 followers, my 70-yr old grandmother has that many followers. (+1)(+1)(+1)

Here's the final scores before the Final Countdown:
Greg 20
Erica 19
Bob 18
Regina 10

Bob! You got beat by Greg's Grandma.. what's up with that?

Gonna tweet a protest to my 4,000 followers. #screwedover.

BRO CALL!

"Hey dudes, it's Chad!"

Chad

"J to the R, JR bro"

JR

"And this is..."

Bro Football!

Chad: Hey dudes and dudettes, welcome to Bro Football, your number one source of brotastic news in the world of football!

JR: You got that right bro, the Rams won again yesterday against Michael VII 19-6! and at this point, it's pretty clear that the Rams will be heading to the playoffs.

"The two high five each other"

Chad: And you know what that means bro?

JR: What dude?

Chad: Play off prediction time!

"The two once again high five each other"

JR: Gotta love it dude, Though unless the Rams get lucky and the last two undefeated teams lose, they wont be the number one team.

Chad: It's possible though dude, and if they do lose a game, and we win our last two (which we should) then the Rams have the points to get the top seed in the playoffs. And even if they don't, they should still be ether the seconded, or third seed.

JR: Indeed dude, but we wont know till the regular season ends.

Chad: Alright dudes, we will be right back after this commercial break.

Record Hits... Seventeen Quarters!

In another tight game against a tough Osarius squad, the Yesopalitha Flames defense held their ground, and didn't concede a touchdown for seventeen quarters. This streak, which includes four complete games, including wins against Vettera and Osarius, is a national record, and the record has a great chance of continuing with Northern Sunrise Islands next.

Julia Carter has become the unquestionable leader of the team, urging her defense to completely dominate the opponent.

The offense for the Flames in this game, however, was kind of absent for a long time, as Osarius actually went into halftime winning six to nil, with two long field goals being the scoring for the Firebirds.

The third quarter started off well for the Flames, as the kickoff was returned to the forty-three yard line. Sandil Ren converted that drive to a field goal, and the momentum shifted.

The defense did their job, the offense started to roll, and midway through the fourth quarter, they started to lead, 9-6. It was over, and the Flames had swept the series against the Firebirds.

"It feels great," remarked Rocky Telmar, "I mean, Utica is from there, man. They're the class of the NSCF, and to defeat a squad that has a few of them? Amazing!"

After the game against Northern Sunrise Islands, Yesopalitha will get ready for the playoffs, in which they were knocked out early in the last edition.

They are really rolling.

Welcome to Circling the Table. Today is a special day, as we have 4 of the most famous QSPN personalities returning for a one-time only reunion. First: Vic Jitale. Second, Boomer Christian. Third, Mad Johnnen and finally Kirk Timjen. Welcome to the All-star QSPN edition of Circling the Table!

First topic today: Qazox' 20-3 win over Fantoa that offically clinched the Sharks playoff berth. With just one game left, should Qazox go all out against Thatius to get a better seeding, or conserve themselves in trying not to get injured. Put yourself into Coach Harper's shoes, what do you do?

Well first, boom, you can't just start not trying 100% out there or else you will get hurt. (+1) (+1). You have to try to get the best seeding possible in the playoffs. (+1). Better the seeding the easier the road, and the better the chance to win the World Bowl.

It's awesome baby to be on Circling the Table! Gotta go full throttle all the time. (+1). Can't afford to let up at this time. You don't play to win every game, it comes back to haunt you.

In gridiron, like baseball, not playing fully competitively doesn't help anyone. Too many times a team has lost a player to injury in a so-called meaningless game. (+1)(+1). While the Sharks won't get the #1 seed they still can get a decent enough seeding and be a contender in the playoffs (+1)(+1).

First off it's great that Qazox is back, back, back into the playoffs. Jim "Zee" Zebow has proven to me that he can lead this team not only to the playoffs, but he's the QB that will lead Qazox back, back, back to the World Bowl title. (+1)

Ok. Here's the scores after the first roun.

Kirk 4
Mad 3
Vic 1
Boomer 1

Next topic: Why does QSPN insist on having these meaningless speciality shows just because it the company's 75th anniversary.

98 Reasons We Have a Shot to Qualify

Subtitles are for losers

By Jonathan Umadden

In a rather straightforward win over a lesser team in Deandean98, absolutely nothing of note happened. Routine short-pass-short-runs-converting-every-third play saw the Ironworkers put up 7-spots in the first and second quarters; both touchdowns ended in a goal-line run by Light Step. Those 14 points were more than enough for the strong Karditani defense. The Girder brothers combined for a Bowl-high nine sacks, and the only points scraped together by the Deans was a 32-yard field goal in the third quarter.

Next up is the last matchday of the group stage, and it is pivotal; a win for the Ironworkers over the Dagans would secure them a spot in the knockout rounds; however, a loss would mean elimination, even though we would be tied in terms of win-loss record. A close loss could have offered us a chance if tiebreakers were determined by point difference, but alas, it is firstly dictated by head-to-head results. As we have already lost to the Dagans once, another would see us go to 0-2 versus them and mean they pass us up for the second qualifying spot. Come out to the Construction Site and bring anything that makes a loud noise; we have home field advantage for the final game, and we need to use it!

Some Lines in the Coach's Journal

Another win! But we drop a place in the standings.

Why, you ask? It's all a matter of point differential... Just the fact that we are in the position that we are is admirable, I presume.

We have to play Thrilledge last. The group leader will probably not even be upset.

Even if we do upset? Well... the point difference won't help at all. Space will probably go through.

Dawson has totally impressed me, though. The Champions will continue to be a threat in the years to come in the Falconfar Gridiron League.

It is a bit sad that it is almost over. But it has been a blast, and I wouldn't trade it for the world, really. It's been a surreal journey, and we'll be better for the next time, I promise.

On The Precipice

Robert Garbongo's job is well and truly in jeopardy now, as the Firebirds are on the verge of failing to reach the playoffs of the World Bowl. Sitting at 6-3, with the fifth best offense in the competition at this point... their record isn't really bad. Until you factor in that Osarius is a top-ten ranked side, and should be sitting pretty at the top of the group, not playing out their final group stage game against TaQud needing a win. Worse still, even if Garbongo's side pull out the win, they will need their margin of victory to out-do Vettrera's by at least seven points, despite holding the head-to-head tiebreaker.

The Osarian Gridiron Council was praised by all corners upon its inception, for taking a strong stance and making the necessary changes for Osarius to flourish in the world of international gridiron competition. Fast forward two years and they've already squandered much of that good-will; the controversial playoff polling system in the OSAGIF League, their leniency when sanctioning the Cartagena Wildcats, their u-turn on certain rulings... the list goes on. The fans have had several gripes over the past couple of months, seeing the national team splutter along after the upset loss to Yesopalitha, and are now beginning to voice their opinions en masse.

Their main complaint this campaign has been the perceived underuse of Tommy Rhodes and Rashad Jackson, a point with which OSN pundit Marlon Phillips agrees.

"Despite his successes in the OSAGIF League, Elliot Johnson has been exposed this campaign. His competion percentage has been significantly lower than the average of Tommy Rhodes at this level, and his relative lack of top level experience has manifested itself in poor decision-making against Yesopalitha in particular. It's too late to bring him in to rescue the campaign, I think, but if Osarius make the playoffs, Garbongo has to reinstate him as starter. [...] Rashad Jackson's non-presence hasn't been as noticeable, because Taylor is a very good runningback in his own right, and Garbongo's offense has focused heavily on the passing game. But I think that the failure to exploit the threat of a split back formation with both Taylor and Jackson in the backfield has been a mistake on Garbongo's part. We know both are capable receivers, so it's not as if he couldn't have used a few of the plays the Firebirds ran so well under Matterhorn to get crucial downs."
- Marlon Phillips, OSN pundit

Phillips' questions are the same ones the OGC are likely to be asking, and it would appear now that the only way Garbongo can save his job is to see the Firebirds safely into the playoffs and then reach the World Bowl championship game. Oddsmakers don't seem to think he can, with Osarius not favoured to reach the playoffs, let alone the championship game. On the plus side for fans, at least the OGC will be doing something right if they do decide to replace the Zerabithean.

There is an air of excitement wafting through the nation of Taeshan. The last time the Fitin' Falcons football team made it to the second round of a tournament was at World Bowl 9. That was over ten long years ago. Twice since then the Falcons had failed to qualify past the group stage, a close third at World Bowl ten, and the disaster that was world bowl 15. The very same team that was the one major blemish proved to be the savior of the sport in the nation.

The very mention of that fateful tournament to the team makes them all cringe. They were much younger, much less experienced and wet behind the ears. This tournament in the end has been their coming out party. Coming into it their were no expectations for the team, to be honest their chances were low. What has happened since the beginning of the tournament though has shocked the world, possibly meaning the return of Taeshan to the sport of football for good.

To understand how truly interesting it is that the Falcons have managed to do so well me must first look at how they have gotten here. The only reason the team initially entered the tournament was a nudging of the former great Taeshani allies of Qazox to make up numbers. The team itself had been so looked down upon in the media that many of the Taeshan Sport Federation initially scoffed at the idea, but in the end they decided it would at least be a chance to return. They didn't want to have to climb the rankings once again, but they could at least put one in for the gipper.

Fast forward, they now sit second in their group. A second stunning defeat of the Babbage Islands has put them in with a chance to win the group and assure themselves a second round bye. Now they must beat the team that has provided the lone blemish on their record, Cosumar. A month and a half a go three points separated the two teams. A field goal. Cosumar has since also lost a game, to Rennidan, which means a victory in this game puts the Falcons into the front.

Honestly no one in Taeshan expected the Falcons to win more than two or three games. This is a delightful surprise, to see the glory of the old Fitin' Falcons return. It doesn't matter in the end if they win or lose, they have turned heads, they have achieved. Glory is determined for the winners, but respect is gained by those who play the game. They have gained the respect they used to have, and they can now win more.

Welcome to Circling the Table. Joining us today are: From the Qazox News-Press- Jason Wood; from the SaxerVilla Sun- Erica Sandoval; from the Lake Porter City Herald, Greg Tanner and Regina Nash of the Fromburg Free Press. 6 topics, 1 winner, let's go!

First topic: Qazox won last night 29-10 over Thatius and earned the 3rd seed for the playoffs. Only 10-0 Yesopalitha and German Zerabithea are seeded ahead of Qazox. So Zebow goes 6-1 as a starter and he is his final stats over that stretch: 51.3% completion rate, 1582 yds, 14 TD's and 8 Ints. But Eric Reed has been cleared to play, and now Qazox has a QB controversy, or does it?

No there isn't one. As much as I like Reed, Zebow's been effective enough to get us the Sharks into the playoffs, and as far as I am concerned, he's the QB. (+1) (+1).

You gotta stick with the relatively hot hand.(+1). Even though Zebow's looked merely mortal the last couple of games, he's Qazox' best chance of victory in the playoffs.

There will be a controversy, even if there isn't one. (+1) Everyone is going to say there's one, and therefore there will be one. It's a self-fufilling prophecy and the more the team denies there's one, the more the media is going to continue to say there is one (+1)(+1)(+1). But there really isn't one. Zebow's earned the trust of his teammates and why would Coach Harper want to break it up?

I guess I'm gonna have to be that person. There is one, despite Greg's circular logic there. (+1)(+1). While Zebow's done well, Reed's had the experience in the playoffs, though it is a pitiful one. (+1) The playoffs are a different animal than group play and I'm a bit worried that Zebow's luck will run out.(+1)

Who's the one team that you wouldn't want Qazox to face in the playoffs and why?

Khabarovsk Krai. They are very similar to Qazox in many ways and they are primed for a deep playoff run. (+1) (+1)

Easy: Allamunnic States. Why? They've dominated us recently and I don't think even Zebow can help. (+1).

What a cop-out answer there Erica. I'd rather not see Qazox face German Zerabithea. Their offense has ripped to shreds defenses like Qazox' all season long.(+1)(+1)(+1)

I'm going with Khabarovsk Krai as well. They matchup with Qazox very well and they've had a tougher schedule than the Sharks. Though the one team I'd like to see Qazox face would be Allamunnic States, they've never been more vulnerable and it's about time we take back control of that rivalry. (+1)(+1)(+1)

Ok so after the first topic:
Greg: 6
Erica: 5
Regina: 5
Jason: 4

Allamunnic States Daily
Special World Bowl Eighteen Coverage

33-0, And #7

The Regulars' defense came out big in their last two games, putting together back-to-back shut-outs to see the Allamunnic national side win its group with a 9-1 record. Deandean98 and Viet were no match for the Regulars, plainly enough, as Justin Connors booted a pair of field-goals in each game, Leif Erikson came up big in the latter, and Danyl Wyndhorst came up big in both games. But the entire defense came up bigger, not allowing a single point in either of those two games.

Steven Lindburgh led the charge against Viet, amassing a sack and four tackles for loss to go along with nine other tackles during the game. Meanwhile, Honorius Waalturs added to his impressive sack-total with three-and-a-half in the last two games, making for a total of fourteen-and-a-half in ten games. Archie Wagner and Miles Ryan played large roles as well, as did Belle Marquette and Elias Mourner, who both had an interception in each game, with Andrik Ierunmungur having another in the second game.

The Dagans of Cassadaigua defeated Karditan 20-3 to see the Ironworkers get boxed out of the playoffs, while the Dagans qualified with a 7-3 record and will play in the first round of the playoffs. The Regulars, on the other hand, will open up against 10th-seeded Thrilledge, who are led by a dreadlocked Denard Robinson-look-alike, whose hairstyle is apparently also the team's namesake. "Blastings Thrilledge" is reportedly pretty much the team's entire offense, and they don't have much of a defense worth speaking of.

The Dreads finished with an 8-2 record in a rather lackluster group, so the coaches aren't overly worried about the game.

"It's the playoffs, so you can't ever take anything for granted, but this will not be the toughest opponent we will have ever faced. That said, we're preparing the same as always, doing due diligence to the details and making sure we keep our fundamentals," head coach Ryan Smart said after the playoff schedule was announced. "I think if our defense plays their responsibilities and keep their form and fundamentals sound, containing their one-man offense shouldn't be an issue, and I think Leif, Danny, the receivers, and all the others have sufficiently proved themselves at this point. Scoring shouldn't be any harder than it's been in the group stage."

Well it wasn't even close the second time. They lose to Cosumar by 14 points, 17-31. In the end they were not even close to good enough to beat the other team and as such fell in what really was not even as close as the score suggested. The final record of 8-2 though is a lot better than anyone anywhere would have expected this team to do, and it means they are through to the playoffs.

Sadly though the Knights will not get a first round bye. They will play against Space in the first round of playoffs, they as the 15 seed and space as the 18th seed. The winner gets the 2 seed German Zerabithea who will most likely mop up the floor with whoever wins so this will most likely be the last chance the Falcons will have to be victorious. It will be there last chance to beat someone til next year.

To win tomorrow the Falcons will have to really work on the defense and the offense if they will have chance to qualify for next round of playoffs. They really need to work on the whole thing to help out the work.
