What this proposal is really hinging on, currently, is whether or not Ananke will wake up and cast a vote.

Returning to the proposal....

Hopefully this resolution is a watershed moment against frivolous liberation attempts.

I think this liberation attempt and the last one have left a bad taste in the mouths of a great majority of nations. The sheer fact is that the policy of submitting a liberation proposal and then debating it has got to stop. I know the last one was submitted even before a thread was created, and although I'm not sure if this resolution followed the same path, it is obvious that it didn't get enough debate.

There isn't even a thread for it yet on their forums.

Sorry, I don't get why exactly. It may well be because I'm relatively new.

Ananke is the delegate of 10000 islands, and she has 820 endorsments = 820 votes.

Her vote will most likely decide the fate of this proposal, as it's so relatively close right now. There's a lot of time left to vote, however.

This goes to show that the liberation tool is a last resort for Defenderism when all others fail. I see no problem with Asgard giving protection to the region. Why does this region have to be liberated? Asgard is going to refound it and give it a stable founder in case of future raids. What's the difference between Asgard's protectionism and UDL's, exactly?

Firmly AGAINST.

A very fair point. The UDL wants to Liberate the region so as to return power to...whom, exactly? The inactive natives? With Asgard in there, at least here will be some semblance of a community and government.

Becuase Ananke II has the most endorsements of any Delegate in NS - at least 800 - so she can swing any close vote in the way she chooses.

I doubt that the natives are too fond of the annual Yuletide raid either, to be honest.

Don't be deceived when our Revolution has finally been stamped out and they tell you things are better now even if there's no poverty to see, because the poverty's been hidden...even if you ever got more wages and could afford to buy more of these new and useless goods which these new industries foist on you, and even if it seems to you that "you never had so much" - that is only the slogan of those who have much more than you.

True, but the annual Yuletide raid is temporary.

Feel free to point out any of the annual Yuletide raids that weren't temporary. ;)

And just who are you to speak on behalf of the natives? Asgard has already stated that it's opened its gates to any natives who may want to join once it's refounded. I'd much rather have Christmas protected by Asgard as opposed to being held over like a trophy like TBH or TBR would do.

I'm someone who's read this fucking thread and seen not one but two natives come out in favour of this resolution.

Two natives don't constitute an entire region's feelings. They're already more than welcome back into the Asgardian protection. Under any other circumstance, this region would've fallen prey to someone with worse intentions.

They're the only two natives who've spoken up. I'd imagine the rest would feel the same.

You're welcome back after that time though. ;]
Under any other circumstance, this region would've fallen prey to someone with worse intentions.
Which is why the region has existed since two thousand fucking three.

Please go ahead and prove this to me. Last activity before the "Raiders" entered was 140 days ago. It's clear that this region's days were numbered based on how long the last nations would CTE, in which case it probably would've been refounded anyway.

Hence why it's survived since two thousand and fucking three.

Three posts count as constant now? I'd like to see the moderation team's definition of constant.

It's probably like its policy on treating some of its forum communities, wrong.
