Yes, and Queen Elizabeth probably has a few traces of Genghis Khan's DNA in her blood. The question that we should be asking is, does it really matter all that much?

One of my good friends is a Korean. I have never heard her tell me that her culture mandates a specific way of trimming one's hair.
From what I've read, it seems like some belief that long hair = Western domination.

You fail political science my friend. Of those options, only one is an economic model, the other two are political models which may or may not apply to specific economic types. And you mean social democracy, socialist democracy is not a functional term. Democratic socialism is however, but here Kim Jon-un is specifically said to be making reforms economically.
I'm talking about the Command-Market paradigm.North Korea has the lowest market freedom in the world, they have nowhere to go but towards greater economic freedom. Even if it is still in a socialist blend, whether a post-Juche Korea will just adopt minor measures or actually move towards the White Cat Capitalism of China is uncertain, but I'm hopeful for greater freedom to the Korean People in any measure.
Not necessarily. They might be worst in relation to everyone else, but that doesn't mean they can't dig deeper.

Which is rather funny, because here in the South (or where I've been born and raised), most every male from a family originating the in area cuts their hair fairly short.
And it's us Southerners who are usually the ones talking about killin' dem dern commies!

The short haircut style in Korea is an import from the west, as I've previously specified.

Nothing. It is democratic. The only reason why it looks like a dictatorship, is because southern Korea spreads propaganda that northern Korea oppresses its people, and gets NATO to believe it.
Then why is the average North Koean shorter than the average South Korean? Seeing as how the two peoples have the same ethnic heritage, they should have the same (or very close) average height if they have the same conditions. The only thing that could explain the difference in height is a lack of nutrition. Meaning that the North Korean government, through sheer incompetence and mismanagement, regularly denies its citizens essential food. And as it refuses to negotiate to any reasonable degree with foreign powers to get food, and most likely wastes what little aid it does get, it does not have a right to exist, because it consistently shows that it is incapable of serving its people.

If you are wondering why South Koreans are taller than North Koreans, four words: growth hormones in food. Their government places the growth hormones into the food, of course. North Korea, however does NOT, and I repeat, does NOT deny any access to food whatsoever. You obviously need to start watching the KCNA and start reading Globe Magazine, for they are far more reliable than mainstream media. If there is a nation that is incompetent and mismanaging things, it is southern Korea.
And actually, Korea does have a right to exist, because it serves its peoples well. The Koreans under the reign of the "Lee Myung-Bak Syndicate," yearn to unite with Korea, under Juche.

1. The KCNA = more reliable media? ROFL. Seriously?
Ganos Lao wrote:2. South Korea is incompetant and mismanaging things? They've left North Korea behind in the bloody dust. They put the first Korean into space. They, like Japan, are working quite nicely in robotics. A team in the Korea Institute of Industrial Technology developed the first Korean android, EveR-1 in May 2006. Recently, research and development in genetics and cloning has received increasing attention, with the first successful cloning of a dog, Snuppy, and the cloning of two females of an endangered species of wolves by the Seoul National University in 2007. South Korea is one of the Asian Tigers. South Korea is also among the world's most technologically advanced and digitally-connected countries; it has the third most broadband Internet users among the OECD countries and is a global leader in electronics, digital displays, semiconductor devices, and mobile phones. Its pop culture has spread throughout the known world in the form of K-Pop, Korean movies, and other such media.
That is incompetance? That is mismanagement? Seems like those are words you should use to describe North Korea.
Ganos Lao wrote:3. Show us all the South Koreans who yearn to be under Juche. Also, North Korea does not, in any way, serve its people well.
