Which resolutions?
Mostly represents my views but what I think a Middle Eastern nation should do which will be sometimes different to what I think a western nation should do(because the people have different needs in different places)

I've heard a lot about ideological bans in the context of discussing one resolution recently, so I am wondering: how broadly is the word "ideology" defined for purposes of the rule?

If there has already been a question asked and answered about this, or this would be the wrong forum for this question, I apologize in advance.

This is definitely the right forum for questions about GA proposal rules. But it's hard to give an exact answer on something that's judged case by case. As an example that sometimes crops up in the illegal submissions is "ban socialism" or "ban dictatorships" or "ban religion" (or a specific religion). Those alone are three different categories of "ideologies"; political, form of government and spiritual.

My GA proposal, Historical and Cultural Protection Act, was deemed 'ILLEGAL' for the reason of 'No Operative Cause'. For that I am confused. Could a more specific complaint be made? What does it mean by that? :?:

I see, I see, well I'm very passionate about this. Is there a way to fix this? Should I add something, should I remove something?

Yes. Pay attention to your own proposal thread:

Sierra Lyricalia wrote:OOC: Welcome to the World Assembly! In addition to the advice in the above post, please note that your proposal is currently illegal: you don't have a clause that actually instructs member states to carry any of these things out. That may seem like a very nitpicky technical quibble, but it's important for a proposal to set out exactly who must do what in order to carry it out. Right now you have the aspirational "this proposal will..." instead of a commanding "Member states must..."

I'll reiterate that done well, this process takes weeks to months for most people. It's a marathon, not a sprint. Good luck!

Yes. (You might possibly get...certain people...going 'bAdGe HuNtInG!' but those certain people don't seem to be frequenting the GA right now)

You can draft as many proposals as you want. Of course, good drafting takes time, and you'll have to divide what time you have between your drafts, so it's good to balance yourself.

I assume this is far from a new question, but how can one efficiently verify that a particular topic has not been addressed in the past?

There is nothing wrong or illegal with using that word, nor with any synonyms such as ‘countries’ or ‘states’.
A representative democracy with a parliament of 535 seats

NS stats and policies are not canon, use the factbooks
Not in the WA despite coincidentally following nearly all resolutions
This is due to a problem with how the WA contradicts democracy
However we do have a WA mission and often participate in drafting

(You're technically allowed to, but it is frowned upon and unlikely to get far)

What does PoCE stand for? I've seen in it the thread on illegal proposals but I can't find what it means anywhere.

Related, what does CoCR stand for?

Proposing Resolutions Question (OOC)

Postby Bosnie » Wed Jun 19, 2019 5:33 pm

Question:

What topics can not be turned into resolutions?
More specifically, what are the general rules on resolutions, and how can I ensure I am not creating a resolution that has been already passed?
