Regulation of Arms act

Postby Euronion » Mon May 09, 2011 4:14 pm

NOTICES that nations have nuclear weapons and advanced weaponry
ALSO NOTICES that man nations have primitive weaponry
REQUIRES that all weapons sold must be sold to either a nation more technologically advanced or on the same technological level as the other
MANDATES that no nation may sell weapons to civilizations that have lesser military technology
RECOGNIZES that a sudden breakthrough in military technology may cause a war to lengthen or be provoked, that defective weaponry sold by a cheap merchant could cause mass destruction
THINKS that a musketeer running around with a laser gun is a bad idea
PRESERVES the rights of nations to give/sell cultural, medical, cartographical ex. information
ALSO THINKS that a knight in shining armour having a Death Star is a bad idea
EXCLUDES defensive or scientific technology (shields, light speed drives, shuttle designs ect.) unless they could be used for military purposes such as the technology of nuclear fusion, or any key milestones in a nations developement such as but not limited to space flight, faster than light travel, space weaponry ect.

I think it needs some constructive criticism please state whether you agree or not and explain your answer

No. This will prevent tech transitioning countries from asking other countries to help out with their upgrade works.

We were unaware that idle rumination and speculation were considered appropriate for inclusion in resolutions now. Did we miss a memo?

A Death Star would be an RL reference to Star Wars which is against WA proposal rules. Regardless, apart from the most obvious hard to disarm or blatantly inhumane weapons such as mines and biological weapons, but not nukes, WA member countries should not be dictated as to what weapons they may use.

Or maybe to the former NS nation of Cluichstan, which itself possessed such an item...
IIRC, Bob Flibble now holds the keys to that weapon.

The Confrederated Clans (and other Confrederated Bodys) of the Free Bears of Bears Armed
(includes The Ursine NorthLands) Demonym = Bear[s]; adjective = ‘Urrsish’.
Population = just under 20 million. Economy = only Thriving. Average Life expectancy = c.60 years. If the nation is classified as 'Anarchy' there still is a [strictly limited] national government... and those aren't "biker gangs", they're traditional cross-Clan 'Warrior Societies', generally respected rather than feared.

Yeah, but he only uses it to cruise on down to the Tastee-Freeze, of so we have been told.

See, we had just classified that as "Ol' Bob just having a bit of a giggle". ;)

Hey, I did give everyone the chance to have "a bit of a giggle" for themselves, I can't help it that the reserve on the auction wasn't met.
