Screaming Eagles Start Off Well, Recently Have Fallen

Prior to the beginning of the season, the Jackson State University team was one of the clubs that was expected to do well in NSCAA. JSU actually started off well, going 7-1 before losing 6 of their next 7. Right now the Screaming Eagles are at 5th place in the Octavius Conference at 9-8, coming off of a loss to Youngstown State. Coach Hudson has been trying to get the team to return to their winning ways from the beginning of the season, but it is going to be a lot of hard work. The boys are down right now and the star players like Kennedy and Lawrence are going to need to pick up the pace if the team wants to make it to the post season, something that had been foreseeable, but now is in jeopardy if the current pattern continues.

Panthers Plowing Their Way to Playoffs

The Panthers of Milita University have done the best so far of all the Carasatogan teams competing in NSCAA. Right now the Panthers are first in the Uniballer Conference at 11-6, yet are not ranked in NSCAA. Milita actually started off slow, going 1-2 before a 7 game winning streak ended by Whitemoor. The Panthers have gone 3-4 in their last 7, but still look good for making it to the playoffs even coming off of a loss to Philipsburg State. Harvey Sharp has been the most consistent player for the team and Coach Boyd says that the rest of the team will need to step up in order for the Panthers resume to start shining once more. Hopefully with more wins like the 100-62 victory of Loudon Empire, who are currently at 2nd place in the Conference.

Milita 80-76 Whitemoor
MIlita 79-83 Eastweald

Red Jackets Out but Not Giving Up

The St. Stephen's University Red Jackets sit at 4-13 and in last place in the Goldsoul Conference. This is surprising because SSU was one of the teams that experts thought would do well in NSCAA. That has yet to be seen from the likes of Rhodes and Wood, who have not shown very much elite talent like they have in teh domestic league. To give SSU the benefit of the doubt, however, the Goldsoul conference is very strong and it is hard to believe that even with 4 wins the Red Jackets are still sitting in 11th. Playoffs are not in the cards for the Jackets and so they need to focus on perhaps spoiling the hopes of their competition in the upcoming games with South Qazox, Empyrea and Nally State. The team has somewhat come back though, going 2-2 in their last 4 after a streak of 9 losses before a nail-biter against Colden University and are coming off of the wrong side of a buzzer-beater versus Grand Onulei.

Timberwolves Score Unbelievable Upset After Season of Dissapointment

The Timberwolves from the University of Western Carasatoga have obviously been the most dissapointing team not only from Carasatoga but in the entire NSCAA. The Timberwolves are 1-16, their only win coming in their last game. Ba'natu is rated 3rd in the Azure Skies Conference and UWC won 84-81on a last second shot by Makenzie Walker, who was fouled at half court. The Freshmen is the only Western Carasatoga player who has made his presence known in NSCAA, scoring at least half of his teams points several times this season. Walker was the number 1 recruit this season in the domestic league, the reason UWC was ranked 3rd in the preseason pole. This goes to show that a team cannot rely on an outstanding player to carry them, because as coach Brooks stated, "He can only carry us so far."

UWC 69-95 Glasshollow
UWC 74-78 Newcastle
UWC 71-73 SJIU
Mangolana 71-55 UWC

Oklahoma City State University on a 2 Win Streak

The Coyotes of Oklahoma City State University sit at 9th place in the standings of the Q Continuum Conference with a record of 6-10. The Coyotes were not expected to make much of an impact on NSCAA and they have lived up to that expectation other than an overtime upset win over New Lakeland Business School in their last game. The men from OCSU have been consistent in their play, however, and are looking good for when domestic play starts, despite a preseason ranking of 7th. Frazier is optimistic that his team can win their final 3 games of the regular season, but with the competition they will facing, it is hard to see whether or not the Coyotes collectively have what it takes.

Teal Tide Drop Five

The Oriale University Teal Tide started out well, going 7-4 and reaching as high as 3rd place in the Carry the 1 Conference standings. Since then, the tide have dropped five straight games, two of them by nearly 40 points. The Aurelian Conference (domestic league that could be comparted to the Ivy League) representative to NSCAA was ranked first in the preseason pole but hasn't come through internationally quite like Milita or Jackson State. Logan Henderson came out big in his point guard position in the early season, culminating in a 4 game win streak, but recently hasn't been preforming. Coach Ivard Franklin has been working on the team's logistics and is confident that the team can finish with a better than .500 record. Oriale is the Carasatogan team to look out for come playoff time.

Brattleboro Over Caroga, Lancers Down Going Into Home Stretch

The Caroga University Lancers came into NSCAA ranked 10th. Right now the Lancers sit at last place in the One Big Conference standings at 4-13, surprisingly better than the projected 4-16. With three more games to go the Lancers led by Noah Little and Alejandro Martin are looking to pull off the upsets to make it into the playoffs. They have some momentum, winning 2 of their last 3 games.

The Edmonton University Eclipse have struggled throughout the season of NSCAA with a record of 4-13 and a second to last place ranking in the Emperor Justin I Conference. Coach Morton hopes that the team can come back from what was at one time an 8 game losing streak to go into the playoffs.

Yorkshire Univ. (OC) 2-1 last week; 2-0 this week (9-7 overall)

YU 36-34--70
TTU 37-29--66
----
YU 47-48--95
YSU 34-47--81

Now at 9-7, Yorkshire has overcome their unusual bad start. While not on pace to win 20 games, expect the Tigers to be a force come conference tourney time.

Bruxen State Univ. (B11) 2-1 last week; 2-1 this week. (12-4 overall)
GSU 34-32--66
BSU 41-35--76
----
GC 29-28--57
BSU 43-37--80
----
NDSt 53-42--95
BSU 36-35--71

Anoter steady week by Bruxen State see them open up a 2 game lead in the conference at the half-way point. A conference playoff berth seems all but likely for the Bulls.

Univ. Qazox-Las Vitas (WC) 2-0 last week; 1-2 this week. (9-7 overall)
OLoL 33-39--72
UQLV 30-32--62
----
TSU 45-38--83
UQLV 39-38--77
----
SSU 33-33--66
UQLV 34-49--83

The Woodfield conference is lucky that the regular season and conference championship winners get an automatic berth, or else they'd not have any teams in. The Wolves dropped to 9-7, but didn't lose any ground and moved up to 3rd place. At this rate 18 or 19 wns could win the conference.

Univ. South Qazox (GC) 1-1 last week; 13-0 this week. (11-5 overall)
NSt 36-43--79
USQ 41-43--84
----
SU 37-39--76
USQ 48-43--91
----
EU 32-26--58
USQ 39-42--81

Another 3-0 week sees USQ tied for 1st in the GoldSoul Conference. At the half-way point, they are on pace for a 22-11 season and a berth in the conference playoffs.

Gothika State Univ. (ASC) 1-1 last week, 2-1 this week. (10-6 overall)
UB 30-32--62
GSU 38-40--78
----
GU 24-31--55
GSU 50-41--91
----
NU 39-40--79
GSU 41-36--77

Will the real Warriors please stand up? This team takes 2 steps forward and one step back, and at this rate, would miss the conference playoffs, despite being on a 20-win pace.

Porter College (OBC) 3-0 last week; 2-1 this week. (11-6 overall)
APC 35-40--75
PC 45-46--91
----
UNM 44-37--81
PC 42-45--87
----
PC 36-46--82
SJU 39-49--88

A late 15-5 run by St. James ended Porter College's 5 game winning streak, but at 11-6 the Lakemen are solidly in contention in the OBC.

Univ. Gila-Iguana (EJC) 3-0 last week; 2-0 this week. (12-4 overall)
ECU 35-33--68
UGI 46-40--86
----
LWC 35-41--76
UGI 41-42--83

Gila-Iguana have won 7 of 8 and sit comfortably in the top 4 of the EJIC. Qazoxian POY candiate SF Hong Haghighi has averaged 30.8 ppg during this 7-1 stretch.

#6 Saint Nash University (RMC) 2-1 last week, 3-0 this week. (11-2 Overall)
BCA 28-39--67
SNU 46-43--89
----
SNU 52-48--100
AS 34-33--67
----
EJU 38-42--80
SNU 40-43--83

A huge win over Emperor Justin I University sees St. Nash at 14-2 at the halfway point and looking like one of the best teams in the NSCAA. While there is still 17 games left, a pace of 28 wins could see this team get a #1 seed come tourney time.

University of Qazox-Pika City (PL) 3-0 last week, 2-1 this week. (12-5 overall)
Ith. 35-27--62
UQPC 65-45--110
----
UQPC 43-41--84
Dav. 31-29--60
----
JLS 46-37--83
UQPC 31-31--62

Another tough loss to Jessicaville Law dropped UQPC into 3rd. But a 25 win pace means this team could be playing deep into the tourney.

QAZOX SUPER SIX Thru Week 6:
    #1- Saint Nash (14-2) 30pts (5 1st-place) LW: #1
    #2- Qazox-Pika City (12-5) 22pts LW: #2
    #2- Bruxen State (12-4) 12pts LW: #4

Bridgeport University on 2 Game Streak After Upsets

After starting 1-11, the Blue Birds of Bridgeport University have won 3 of their last 4 games, the last two being upsets over Emporer Justin I University and Grande Mountian University. Bridgeport was ranked in the top 6 at preseason and until recently have not lived up to this ranking. The team, being led by Daniel Coleman and Johnnie Chandler have been dissapointing this season. The success of the last two games is something that Blue Birds coach Bert Howard hopes is repeated when the team plays their final games of the regular season.

At 6-10 Caroga State is Looking Good for Playoffs

The Crusaders are at 6-10 in the Pioneer League and even though they are on a 3 game losing street, Caroga State University is looking good going into the playoffs. The Crusaders were not expected to do well in NSCAA, so the record of 6-10 is better than originally anticipated. Jerome Maxwell has preformed well so far and Coach Logan is pleased with the team this season. They are another Carasatogan team that will be looking to go far come playoff time.

NSCAA Bubble watch Week 6

Postby Qazox » Sun Mar 06, 2011 11:15 pm

(ooc: Going off the IC premise that the top 4 from each conference would be in)

We're halfway through the NSCAA season, and that means its time for the Bubble watch. According to our Bracketologist Len Joeardi; ther are 49 teams that would be in right now and 27 teams on the bubble. That's 76 teams for a 64 team tournament. Here's the Week 6 Bubbles, are you in or out?

As of MD18, there are no Locked teams, meaning no team has for all intents and purpoes clinched a tourney berth, regardless of how the rest of the season fares. There are 4 levels to the bubble: Locks, Should be in, Need Work and On the Bubble. Any team not listed should be considered out. Teams listed on the bubble are in italics, teams that are locks are in Bold. Please note this is not offical and only reflects the probabilities if the seasn ended today.

Goldsoul Conference:
Teams that should be in: South Qazox, Silveredge, Grand Onluei and Empyrea
Needs work: Fairfield City
Bubble: Fairhaven, Superdavetopia, Nally St.

The top 5 in the GSC are within 1.5 games of each other and all 5 should make the tourney, though Fairfield City could use another win over the top 4 to solidify their chances. Fairhaven, Superdavetopia and Nally State need to get on a roll or else their bubble will be burst.

Azure Skies conference:
Should be in: Centralia Empire, Inferno Islands, Ba'natu, Glasshollow and Gothika State
Needs Work: NONE
Bubble: Newcastle, Mangolana

CEU, CII and BU are probaly just a week or two away from being locks, while Glasshollow and Gothika State just need to maintain their pace. Newcastle and Mangolana might sneak in, due to the difficulty of this conference, but each would need to finish with no less than 19 wins to be on the right side of the bubble.

Big 11 Conference
Should be in: Bruxen State, Concord Heights, Mais and Villanova-Charlotte
Needs Work: Kaldukosk
Bubble: Tundra Falls

Not the toughest conference, but any one of 6 teams can win this conference. Tundra Falls needs to put together a nice 6-2 or 7-1 stretch over the next 3 weeks or else they might be going home.

Woodfield Conference:
Should be in: V'hai, Grimmstad-Ròtten
Needs work: Qazox-Las Vitas, Ramusok Capital, Saltville State, Brighton College
Bubble: Our lady of Lourdes

Another close conference that will likely come down to the final weeks. V'hai looks the part and with another 2 or 3 consistant weeks should be a lock. Expect the final team in and the first team out come the end of the season to come from the WC.

Q-Continuum Conference:
Should be in: Pock City Tech, New Lakeland Business
Needs work: Southern University of Rextartia @ Mersatha
Bubble: Vladgrad, Saugeais-Metalton, Crawford

Despite having one of the top teams in the NSCAA, the QCC currently would only get 3 sure bids and maybe 1 more. The middle of the pack needs to get winning quick or else this will be a 3 bid conference.

Carry the 1 Conference:
Should be in: Southport Naval, Marlborough School of Medicine, Ibon Industrial College, Hess
Needs work: Havlat A&T
Bubble: Regalia

Unlike many other conferences, the CIC looks like they will get at least 5 teams in, and if Oriale and Regalia get hot, they might get 7 teams in.

One Big Conference:
Should be in: Crisalus Fief
Needs work: Porter College, Brattleboro, Sergeville, St. James
Bubble: Gilley

Crisalus Fief with 3 or 4 more wins will likely be a lock, while the rest of the top 5 need about 7 or 8 to get in. Gilley might need to win at least 10 to get in. But the OBC should get 5 easily.

Emperor Justin I Conference:
Should be in: Brattleboro Tech, Gila-Iguana, Lycrabon War College
Needs work: Catherina
Bubble: Williams College, Western Isles, Arçon

The top 3 in this conference should get to lock status within the next couple of weeks, while Catherina could use a big win or two. As for the three bubbles, Williams looks like a team that should get in, but doesn't have the resume yet.

Octavius Conference:
Should be in: Les Alliés Tech
Needs work: Southport
Bubble: Winchester College, Yorkshire, Jackson State, Klyde, Laufston

This conference should be re-named the Bubble. 3rd thru 9th are only 2 games apart and Les Alliés Tech is only 2 games ahead of 3rd. This conference could get as many as 7 and a few as 2. This conference will be having an interesting final month and a half.

Uniballer Conference:
Should be in: Milita, Loudon Empire
Needs work: Harbaugh
Bubble: Philipsburg State, Parr State College, Starksville, Saugeais-Longview

Yet another conference that could send 7 teams to the dance or 3 teams. All 4 bubble teams in the UC could use a 4 or 5 game winning streak to get off the bubble.

Royal Mountain Conference:
Should be in: Saint Nash, Emperor Justin I, Grande Mountain, Saugeais St.
Needs work: None
Bubble: None

The RMC will be a 4 bd conference, unless one of the outs gets on a 5 or 6 game winning streak. One of the really top-heavy conferences

Pioneer League:
Should be in: Jessicaville Law School, Rutland, Qazox-Pika City
Needs work: None
Bubble: Sliveville, Bugny A&M, New Washington School of Finance

Sliveville looks to be the best chance for a 4th bid from the Pioneer league. But Bugny A&M and NWSF have been slowly climbing the ranks and one could snag a 5th berth.

LAST FOUR TEAMS IN NSCAA TOURNEY:
St. James University
Brighton College
Tundra Falls
University of Klyde

FIRST FOUR TEAMS OUT:
Laufston Town
Nally State
Mangolana University
Arçon University

NEXT FOUR TEAMS OUT:
Superdavetopia University
New Washington School of Finance
Crawford University
Bugny A&M

Clampo rebound safter ugly start

Postby Clampo » Mon Mar 07, 2011 8:09 am

Clampo routed Lakeview yesterday, but on a perfect game, played hard defense, and executed the floor. However, Clampo appears to be out of the 68 team field. For more information, go to our website.

Matchday 19 Scores
Spitfyred University (Spitfyred1) 67–55 Mangolana University (Mangolana)
C - Elmer Sklue - 15pts
PF - Big Boi - 15pts
SF - Alfred Wall - 8pts
SG - Cobe Brient - 25pts
PG - Jeanette Akenja-Nearing - 4pts

Matchday 20 Scores
Spitfyred University (Spitfyred1) 74–68 Ba'natu University (Civil Citizenry)
C - Elmer Sklue - 15pts
PF - Big Boi - 15pts
SF - Alfred Wall - 10pts
SG - Cobe Brient - 25pts
PG - Jeanette Akenja-Nearing - 9pts

Coaches Tips - This is what I have been waiting for all season. Quality defense leading to quality wins. The addition of Wall finally was effective. The team rallied about its defense and was able to score two victories. Perhaps this will be a great second half of the season. The team appeared to fire on most cylindres. If Jeanette can score more, the team might score an unlikely tournament birth.

National Journal
Mid season report

7 weeks up, 4 left to go. Based on Saugeais' best college teams, most will be vying for the last few spots on the bracket. Who is doing great and who still needs some improvement quick.

Saugeais State:11-7, 4th in Royal Mountain Conference

Since our last write-up, the Lancers have gone a very average 5-5. Francis Perth, star forward for the team, has been held to a meager 12.2 PPG and the defense has only come up with 3.1 steals in the same time frame. "We need to get back on track if we want a shot at the tournament," said head coach Jason Cromwell. "If we can't get a regular season championship, I want my guys to play hard into the conference tournament. If we do well there, then I see no reason we'll be left out of the NSCAA tournament."

Bugny A&M:9-10, 6th in Pioneer League Conference

Bugny A&M has faired better, if only slightly, then some teams, going 6-5 over the stretch. The tandem guard attack of Zevon and Edgars has certainly picked up in the past three games, netting 30.6 points per game combined. However, the lackluster play from the rest of the team has left the Eagles scrounging for wins, coming up short or winning by very little. "We need to be more confident in ourselves or we have not chance at all," claimed coach Francisco Salieri.

University of Gilley:11-8, 6th in One Big Conference

The Lumberjacks have been on the upside quite a bit in these last few weeks. And with the conference shaping up to be a battle to get to the playoffs, Gilley needs to keep on winning and surpass the 4 teams currently at 12-7 above them.

Arçon University:11-8, tied 4th in Emperor Justin I Conference

Also hitting a string of good luck lately, Arçonhas had some help with their playmaking center, 7' 3" Johann Van Hoten, whose 8.6 blocks per game is leading the conference. Much like Gilley, the Wolfpack need to keep this streak up if they want at least a shot at the conference tournament title.

Les Alliés Tech:13-6, 1st in Octavius Conference

The Wasps have not disappointed their fans last month. Going 8-3 and taking over the Octavius Conference, they need to keep this up as the sharks below them are chomping at the bit, 2-3-4 places having 11-8 records. Having a hand a great three point ability, guard Gerald Stevens has knocked down 71% of his attempts behind the arc, giving credit to his team's ability to box out and screen correctly to leave him open.

University of Saugeais - Longview:9-10, tied 6th in Uniballer Conference

Little adjustments can save the Sharks right now. 4 game out of this conference and one is pretty much done for. Their only hope right now is to get hot with perimeter shooting and hope for better defense to win a good number of games to make the tournament.

University of Saugeais - Metalton:9-10, tied 6th in Q Continuum Conference

Another team that, while not mathematically out of it, still has little chance to make the playoffs. Due to their current under-performing nature, the Ironmen have shown on the court they just don't belong on the world stage. Losing all 5 of their games by double digits further proves that if Longview is bad, they go all out to make it worse.

Havlat A&T:10-9, 5th in Carry the 1 Conference

With the conference firmly in the hands of Southport Naval Academy, the Aggies now just need to focus on being one of the top four teams to make the conference tournament. Their coach has expressed great praise for his team's continued successes but they can't stop there. The need to play more offensive minded basketball by taking more three point attempts. They are ranked last in the conference in that stat (24%), and in order to win more games, needs to start taking risks.

This past week might have been the Warriors' turning point as they went 3-0 and moved to within a game of the conference lead with a month to go. GSU's Player of the Month: SF Shane Twilley- 13.6 ppg, 9.3 rpg, 57.3 % 3-pt FG, 97.9 % FT.

Porter College (OBC) 2-1 last week; 1-1 this week. (12-7 overall)
PC 37-44--81
UBR 37-47--84
----
PC 40-40--80
POR 29-35--64

Brattleboro nail a three at the buzzer to start the week, but a 35 point performance by Desmond Roddam saw the Lakemen blowout Portsham. PC's Player of the Month: SF Desmond Roddam- 22.1 ppg, 8.6 rpg, 53.4% FG.

Univ. Gila-Iguana (EJC) 2-0 last week; 2-1 this week. (14-5 overall)
ECU 35-33--68
UGI 46-40--86
----
LWC 35-41--76
UGI 41-42--83

The Scorpions maintained their pace in the EJC. While unlikely to catch Brattleboro Tech, UGI is 3 games ahead of 4th place and should get into the tourney with a good seeding. UGI's Player of the Month: SF Hong Haghighi- 29.8 ppg; 9.3 rpg.

#6 Saint Nash University (RMC) 3-0 last week, 2-0 this week. (17-2 Overall)
SNU 38-45--83
BU 34-29--63
----
GMU 38-37--75
SNU 34-43--77

Though they lead EJIU by a half-game, it looks like St. Nash might be the best team in the NSCAA. But can they maintain their heads with just over a month left, and not get complacent? SNU's Player of the Month: PG Dennis Farber- 11.2 ppg, 12.11 apg, 58 steals.

University of Qazox-Pika City (PL) 2-1 last week, 2-0 this week. (14-5 overall)
UQPC 42-33--75
CSU 31-26--57
----
UR 36-37--73
UQPC 39-40--79

The Fighting Pike are in the thick of the Pioneer League race with about a month to go. They probably won't catch Jessicaville Law School, but a solid stretch run could bump them up a seed-line or two. UQPC's Player of the Month: Robert Session: 25.2 ppg, 9.8 rpg, 15 steals, 19 blocks.
