SQUADRA NAZIONALE DI JUVENCUS

Image

Information about Juvencus:
Capital: Pomena
Population: 130,656,702 ethnic Juven, with a total of 150,048,720 including naturalised immigrants.
Demonym: Juven
Country Code: JUE
Football Association: JFA(Juven Football Association)
Nicknames: Gli attaccanti(The attackers), La squadra(The team)
Football philosophy: At this point, to play football in Juvencus you need to understand that no matter who you are, pushing forward is the MOST essential core value you can bring in your game. Both strikers and defenders alike are equally likely to strike from any range at any time. Defense is not neglected, but is not as valued as being a scary goalscorer up front.
Official Record(WCC-Sanctioned only): 392 Games played(212 W - 93 D - 107 L)

La Squadra:

*BOLD & UNDERLINED INDICATES STARTER

Goalkeepers:

This is a spot traditionally given to the players with the fastest reaction times and the grit to withstand the pressure of being the goalkeeper in a team that cares way more to attack than to defend. Despite the shit they receive in comparison to the rest of the team, those are true inspirations on the pitch and are always treated as such by players and other managers alike.

GK:Juan Carlos Ungaro(Age 27)(U.S Scudelli)

GK:Sócrates Wright(Age 25)(AC Pomena)
GK:Bardhyl Imeri(Age 21)(Cordoba FC)
GK:Tiago Gomes(Age 25)(AC Serone)

Juan Carlos Ungaro has grown to be a decisive goalkeeper when it matters most for his team. Time and time again his reflexes have been a quality to cherish both domestically with U.S Scudelli and internationally with la squadra and as such his attributes are to be cherished as a starter. Though not far behind in skill Sócrates Wright has been a rock for a defensively inconsistent AC Pomena, with a large quantity of saves made every single game and there was only so much he could do in some instances, however they proved to be title-worthy for the Uhlaner and that is what matters most in his chase for the starting lineup spot with gli attaccanti. His performances with la squadra have also been consistently top notch, but seeing as Ungaro has been more pivotal on the international level, it would be the safest option to keep him as a starter. Bardhyl Imeri is a young talent that had a meteoric rise overnight with Cordoba FC, with a keen look on the game, mastering the sweeper keeper playstyle and fast reflexes, he is exactly what a modern goalkeeper should be like and will be giving both Wright and Ungaro a run for their money while he is visibly better than the following player. Tiago Gomes is a surprise addition to the goalkeeper lineup but seeing as he overperformed last season in the Campionato, this could serve as his chance in the limelight.

Defenders:

The defender's position is always kept for players who are speedy, positionally adept and physically strong for their size and usually either have excellent leadership skills, game intelligence or a hot-headedness and most of a time a combination of the three. It is a position that also lacks the respect it deserves in Juven society, but it is one that is necessary in order to make it easier for the goalkeeper and the team as a whole.

CB:Carlo Callejon(Age 30)(Brattleboro FCImage)(Second Captain) (Captain)
CB:Pau Puig(Age 27)(AS Aguajú)
CB:Carlos Coste(Age 26)(Couno RangersImage)

CB:Giorgio Stafilidi(Age 24)(Real Club de YatesImage)
CB:Ignacio Lopes(Age 22)(U.S Scudelli)
CB:Lucia Agnelli(Age 26)(Victoriaville CityImage)
CB:Urbà Pujals(Age 19)(Perce TownImage)
CB:Carlos Salucci(Age 39)(Union OsceImage)

Madeiros has shown trust in the starting 3 defensive lineup of Callejon-Puig-Coste and this is what he will be entrusting this time around as well. Carlo Callejon might not be as fast a runner as he used to be, he has the experience on top level to perform tasks as well as he does and still serves as the staple for a Juven defender. Pau Puig was CRUCIAL in most games he played for Los Amazones last season, however multiple injuries could put his spot on the starting XI on the line. His size and positional adeptness are assets in a fast-moving team such as this one. Carlos Coste, though clumsy, has solidified himself as a starter in one of the Tumbra's best teams in Couno Rangers. Skilled in the air, with a good tactical awareness and excellent passing play he is exactly what the team needs for balance in the starting 3.

From the substitutes now Giorgio Stafilidi despite some mishaps in the Independents Cup, he seems to have picked himself up as Herona Calcio's unsung hero especially during the latter half of the season. In the meanwhile, Ignacio Lopes has established himself as the rock of the Scudelliano team's backline and will be given another chance at representing the nation despite equal hardships last Independents Cup. Lucia Agnelli and Carlos Salucci have been given the return call, the former is given another chance at life for the team due to her -still- apparent talent and the latter will be spreading wisdom to his teammates at age 39 now. Last but certainly not least is Urbà Pujals. Pujals has made a name for himself in Quebec as part of Perce Town at his very young age, quick, agile, great footwork and of course undeniable in the air, Pujals is a great defender already.

Midfielders:

A midfielder is always a maestro on the pitch and depending on which side of the midfield they are in, their characteristics change. There's no pure centrocampista in Juvencus, instead players play as offensive-minded CDM's in the middle of the field. Those players usually have vision, exceptional passing or crossing and usually dictate the speed of the attack, the most necessary element of this team's tactics. They also fall back to form a bus when deemed absolutely necessary. In the sides, you have wide midfielders who act as supplementary wingers, players with speed who can provide to the wingers or the forwards when necessary. As such, you get to see fast players with great inward crossing and forward passing.

CDM:Giuseppe Conte(Age 28)(U.S Scudelli)
CDM:Félix Sissoko(Age 27)(Jolbonopolis UnitedImage)
RM:Simon Oliveira(Age 27)(Newark ArgyleImage)
LM:Chimo Quaranta(Age 28)(AC Pomena)

CDM:Sara Ponce(Age 23)(AC Serone)
CDM:Raul Viejo(Age 19)(AC Pomena)
CDM:Pierre-Didier Kouyaté(Age 30)(U.S Scudelli)
CDM:CDM:Vitale Cino(Age 29)(Al Qurija FC)

RM:Gustavo Alfonso(Age 20)(S.S.C Tipoli)
RM:Paola Cernoia(Age 24)(Cordoba FC)
RM:Maria Zambrotta(Age 30)(Zenit AttawapiskatImage)
RM:Gioachino Sgro(Age 29)(Parakleion FirebirdsImage)

LM:Joao Peres(Age 22)(U.S Remeno)
LM:Fantasia Bergoglio-Bertolini(Age 25)(Herona Calcio)
LM:Aboubakar Sidibe(Age 21)(U.S Scudelli)
LM:Carla Acquati(Age 26)(FC Piluzzi)

Changing the midfield PERSISTS this time around. Madeiros regretted not including Chimo Quaranta in the Independents Cup last time around as the team lacked the creativity necessary which he had exhibited in the qualifiers and last season in the Campionato. Simon Oliveira has been a solid goal-scorer and provider for Newark Argyle while also having solidified himself as one of the most technically gifted players and supplementary goalscorers and assist-givers in the team with a creativity akin to a forward. Giuseppe Conte and Félix Sissoko have proven to be a complementary duo together, providing the team both with short and long balls while maintain strong vision of the game and controlling abilities.

A lot of depth exists in the midfield, but out of those none shone brighter than Sara Ponce, who proved herself to be pivotal in AC Serone's play and even when representing la squadra. Last time around, she was one of the best players in the Independents Cup, but she still has a lot to prove for that starter spot. Gioachino Sgro has had a rough season with relegation-bound Parakleion Firebirds, however he has been one of their main creative forces in the much difficult Tikariotan Premier League. Aboubakar Sidibe is the last substitution that will be mentioned, a flexible player that can play up front and in the midfield, Sidibe was one of the driving forces of U.S Scudelli's attack and will be looking to prove his worth with la squadra on the big stage.

Attackers:

A position held with the utmost respect as it has the most prestige in Juven football. The task to be picked for it is simple, you should know both how to score and how to supply goals. It is a position that has the most competition, as most talented Juven players are up in front and are very known across the multiverse for their prowess in front of the goal. As such, it is a position with a lot of pressure to be in, much like the goalkeeper. Wingers are fast, brilliant technicians who are excellent suppliers and have a confusingly good shooting technique. Strikers on the other, they have a strong finishing touch akin to an unstoppable force on a consistent level.

The depth of talent in this attack is nothing short of insane. This is a team consisting of players who typically and consistently outperform strikers of similar caliber both domestically and internationally. For the first time in a long while, the majority of the players in the likely starting lineup will be Campionato players. Gilberto Soares was U.S Scudelli's main scorer in a trio that kept bombarding opposite sides with a lot of goals. The Campionato top scorer with a 38-goal tally, one of the highest of all time, he earned the spot on the starting lineup. Ganymede Garcia has brought over his experience from the Q-League and has established himself as a leader in an AC Pomena side that won its 7th in the most competitive Campionato ever, clinical in front of the goal and the cupbearer for the attack as he is a phenomenal playmaker. Lastly, Ceferino Audiol who perhaps has established himself as Juvencus' greatest striker for the moment, although there are many candidates that could take the position.

From the old guard, Julio Campana is the only one who could perform at such a high caliber as Audiol and as such the two will be switching back and forth while trying to prove their worth on the pitch. Campana's right foot is second to none with a powerful shot most would dream to have. Edu Coste was AC Pomena's main scorer and he came in clutch quite a few times for his team when he was needed, he is a consistent winger and as such not to be underestimated.

From the new additions Gennaro Munir was not a household name up until recently. While a solid goalscorer, he was not AC Serone's main poach until recently. Strong development over the season oscura before last Campionato gave Munir access to an all new and improved shooting technique, strength in the air and in general finishing abilities that were important in AC Serone's title defense. While not enough, AC Serone would still finish in IFCF spots and la squadra will be looking forward to utilising him. Adrian Al-Hamdawi is a similar story, being with Cordoba FC since the Serie B era. Al-Hamdawi is adept when it comes to one-on-ones with the goalkeeper while he is prone to cutting in if attacking from the sides with a long shot that is one of the most dangerous in all of Juvencus.

Main formation:

Image
Starting lineup sheet with most likely substitutions, should you RP before me however you are free to choose whoever you want even if not mentioned in this picture.

The Independents Cup defence did not go according to plan. With many inexperienced players expected to take over the helm from the much more experienced that now retired or were just left out for whatever reason. The title defence was cut short in the quarter-finals despite a dominant showing in the group stages. Dudu Madeiros' brain is a machine that works in ways that are unexpected. His decision was to bring back a lot of players on the older side that were left out from the squad has met praise from fans and critics, since their experience will pass on to the younger additions naturally.

Madeiros' scouting and tactic-planning seems to be transcending the typical Juven coach boundaries that gave the Juven playing abroad priority due to a perceived better quality of league in recent years and especially this year. Consistent overperforming internationally combined with a stronger league core has given Madeiros the hope that his players will be consistent on their upwards trend especially if they play in clubs back at home. Particularly inclined by much influential Trajan Apostolov, a coach that has experience coaching several clubs back in his native Skopja with an emphasis towards keeping domestic talent grow domestically instead of internationally to create a more trustworthy depth of squad.

That's right, Conti and Galletti are no more. Due to a lot of altercations and disagreements between Madeiros and the two assistants that caused a negative attitude through the team's ranks throught both the qualifiers and Independents Cup, it was best that they were let go. In their place, the afforementioned Trajan Apostolov and Adamo Rosso. The former known for his scouting and natural team growth with as much home-grown talent as possible while the latter is a well-known hypeman yet tactically sound.

The formation is the typical 3-4-3 marriage ring formation. 3 center backs form the core of the backline, while the two center center backs closer to the sides can have a sort of free role to move to the side to defend but also move up to the midfield to orchistrate any attacks. To join them are 2 of the central defensive midfielders, who tend to hold back when it comes to defence and start position but move up usually with through-balls and crosses to the attackers or wingers. The side midfielders act as secondary wingers, meaning they have the exact same role at a slower intensity, with crosses to the main strikers or long-shots being their strong suit, they are usually the fastest players in the team. The difference between them and the wingers is that wingers play more forward because they usually possess better technicality with the ball on their feet, meaning they are swift dribblers and are a bit more clinical in front of the net, other than that, they help the striker in the first line of offense and defence of the high-line. Lastly, the striker is the main scorer, usually being fed with crosses and through-balls by the rest of the team, usually with a strong shooting ability and headers being their main source of scoring. This doesn't mean wingers or side midfielders do not get a fair share of their slice, however.

When it comes to penalties, the player who earns it takes it. When it comes to long-range free kicks, a midfielder will take it, while short-range free kicks are to be kicked by any of the wingers.

Stadiums:

Il Nuovo Stadio Olimpico della Pomena, Pomena(Capacity: 137,000)

Image

The Nuovo Stadio Olimpico in Pomena is a state of the art and gargantuan stadium, it hosts the games of the national team as well as the Copa Juve final. It has all sorts of amenities in and out of it from shops, to vendors, lounges as well as everything else one can put on their mind. It also used to serve as the home of AC Pomena prior to its move to Stadio Gianluca IV stadium.

The stadium of the capital has a different vibe from the previous Vinceti Catedral, all this colorful vibrance suddenly turns into an intimidating atmosphere which accurately represents the deep history of the nation. The chants feel a lot like a call to arms, ready to strengthen the Juven players while drums rhythmically beat through the entirety of the game. If a goal is scored, the loudest screams are to be heard throught the entire city, every celebration starting from this place is an emotional, triumphant celebration, echoing through the nation. After hosting the 3rd place playoff of the Independent Associations Cup 16, it is a safe stadium to visit and the people in it will try to carry on the legacy.

Located on the legendary Taranta Quartier of Pomena, it is in a central position not too far away from the city center and it is easily accessible by any means necessary, such as by train(being near the Taranta, Antelope and Vittoria stations), by bus, or by car.

Stadio Gianluca IV, Pomena(Capacity: 85,000)

Image

Stadio Gianluca IV is the newest major stadium to be built in the nation funded directly by the Holy Emperor himself. It is a state-of-the-art facility with all the newest multiversal stadium technologies in use, such as airconditioning and artificial grass that feels like its real equivalent among others. Stadio Gianluca IV has been the home of AC Pomena for the past couple seasons and it has already created an impression as an impressive and daunting place to step into, let alone play. Expect the players and fanbase to have more of a grit in this stadium as it is building itself up to be a cathedral of dreams.

It is located in the Casa Reale Quartier of Pomena, a very central position right on the richest part of the city and it is very easily accsible by both car, train or bus. By train an individual would have to get out at either the Casa Reale station or the Castelnuovo station.

Il Scudelliano, Scudelli(Capacity: 55,000)

Image

U.S Scudelli's ground, Il Scudelliano is the city's marvel. It is a square structure where the seats are literally next to the pitch, allowing for pitch invasions to happen at any time. Thankfully security personnel keep a tight look and as such they do not happen often. On the other hand, it also positively enhances the performances of the players by receiving positive chants from the fans this close to them while simultaneously making the pitch tremble as if there is an earthquake happening.

Located at the Toluja Ward of Scudelli, it is very easily accessible by all means such as cars, train, bus or whatever else. By train an individual would have to disembark at the Toluja, Scudelliano or Pax Pomen stations.

Stadio Electrico, Aguajú(Capacity: 34,000)

Image

A stadium built and supported in majority by funds of its supporters, who own a large share of their favorite club, AS Aguajú. It has a sky blue roof(that is also color-changing) and an odd square shape. It has a reputation for being a stadium with an electric atmosphere, almost as if one is being inside a thunderstorm. The locals of Aguajú are known for their impulsivity and striking behavior when supporting their favorite sports teams, with gli attaccanti being no exception.

Located at the 29 Novembre Municipality, it is accessible by car, train or bus. By train it is reached by stopping at the 29 Novembre and Diletta Guietti stations.

Stade Colonial, Pomena(Capacity: 19,000)

Image

Stade Colonial is perhaps owned by the most misleading club in all of Juvencus, Union Pomena. Located in the most staunchly Panjuvenist and colonialist quartiere di Fonseca in Pomena with a wonderful view of the Princess Daniella IV hill and is specifically designed in the way portals are meant to be designed around Juvencus. As a stadium it has a peculiar atmosphere, one may initially feel they are entering an elegant stadium in a royal area before the chants start becoming more and more aggressive and daunting. Expect flares and smoke.

It is accessible by car, bus and tram line the tram line 7 that traverses the entire coastline. Stops at Ernesto Munoa Square Station(which also serves a metro station) and Cuccitini Station are also viable options.

My opponent, if they RP first, may do the following:
Choose my goalscorers: Yes but please, for the love of god, if your team is low-ranking, new or whatever try NOT using most of my starting lineup players and instead using my depth, unless it's a knockout game. If your team is high-ranking, still try to use a couple of my substitutes thanks. AKA what I am saying here is, be reasonable and realistic.
Godmod scoring events: No
RP injuries to my players: Yes, but only I determine severity
Godmod injuries to my players: No
Hand out yellow cards to my players: Yes, 3 per game and notify me in TGs or discord for which players you carded
Hand out red cards to my players: Yes, 1 per game and notify me in TGs or discord for which players you carded

Manager: Kate DiMarini. Originally from Baker Park and an assistant to the national team there, then of Trebuchet Cham. Named interim manager halfway through WC87 qualifiers, and permanent manager at the start of WC88. Led Zwangzug to the World Cup 92 championship!

Thanks to Ko-oren for the three-trait summary approach.

Goalkeepers:
1. Ketevan Igreli (Keppal Cosmos) (f) (first tournament: WC89 Q) withdrawn, wiry, wizard
12. Soumini Bano-Patil (Namiri Forest) (m) (first tournament: Eagles Cup 14) studious, humble, mercenary
23. Alma Kaidensky (Arlington City) (f) (first tournament: WC94 Q) self-starter, high-strung, poised
26. Tandre Vusin-Jacques (102d Jr.s) (m), (first tournament: WC95 Q) laid-back, lanky, amusing

Defenders:
2. Juniper McGovern (102d Jr.s) (f) (first tournament: WC94 Q) evasive, long-winded, chameleonic
3. Meredith Ryland (Arlington City) (f) (first tournament: WC92 Q) clear-sighted, slow-footed, good at throw-ins
4. Nilkanth Mibang (Namiri Forest) (m) (2 goals) (first tournament: Eagles Cup 13) potty-mouthed, tall, mildly separatist
5. Ashley Fillmore-Gaul (Spenson Suburbia) (2 goals) (f) (first tournament: Eagles Cup 14) blunt, dogged, faithful
13. Odo Merisi-Rizzi (Bassabook Old Boys) (m) (first tournament: WC94 Q) pugnacious, unselfish, versatile
14. John McDonald (Trebuchet Cham) (m) (first tournament: WC95 Q) muscular, peevish, plainspoken
15. Irene Roosevelt (Spenson Suburbia) (f) (first tournament: WC94 Q) superficial, glory-hunter, reactive
16. Ernst Guthnick-Wolf (Trebuchet Cham) (m) (first tournament: WC94 Q) rapacious, unkempt, streaky
25. Lorraine Rouwen-Horn (Ephesian FC) (f) (first tournament: WC95 Q) better lucky than good, assertive, good at comebacks

Midfielders:
6. Julia MacEacharna (Bassabook Old Boys) (f) (7 goals) (first tournament: Eagles Cup 15) musical, charismatic, can be lazy [captain]
7. Lukas Helsen-Roan (Ephesian FC) (m) (15 goals) (first tournament: Eagles Cup 12) adaptable, high endurance, rarely fouls
8. Jordan McKinney (Spenson Suburbia) (m) (11 goals) (first tournament: WC92 Q) genial, talkative, frequently out-of-bounds
9. Cixin Nguyen (Chromatik, Chromatika) (m) (25 goals) (first tournament: WC90 Q) self-assured, adventurous, book-smart
10. Chester Hildegard (Arlington City) (m) (4 goals) (first tournament: Eagles Cup 15) boisterous, cocksure, informed
17. Sofya Turmal-Hence (Keppal Cosmos) (f) (3 goals) (first tournament: Eagles Cup 15) passive-agressive, good finisher, skeptical
18. Brian Spand-Maunk (Ephesian FC) (m) (1 goal) (first tournament: WC94 Q) multitasker, fidgety, learns from experience
19. Harold Carre (Ephesian FC) (m) (1 goal) (first tournament: WC94 Q) showman, iconoclast, insecure
20. Jess McHeran (102d Jr.s) (f) (first tournament: WC95 Q) accommodating, earnest, precise
21. Jude McWaler (Keppal Cosmos) (m) (2 goals) (first tournament: Eagles Cup 15) ambitious, optimistic, hustler

Forwards:
11. Stephen Marcus (Ephesian FC) (m) (6 goals) (first tournament: Eagles Cup 15) clever, against-the-run-of-play tactics, prematurely bald
22. Alyssa Velt-Nansen (Spenson Suburbia) (f) (first tournament: WC95 Q): effusive, giggly, ate some of the pies
26. Awidlyon Reed (Keppal Cosmos) (f) (first tournament: WC95 Q): attentive, slight, inscrutable

Numbers 1-11 are the most likely starting eleven, and 24-26 less likely to see playing time unless there are injuries, but do whatever.

Colors: White with black stripes. Or black with white stripes. We go for the basics.

Zwangzug officially have no nickname, but are increasingly likely to respond to "Zebras" from other teams' fans (this is the official name of their baseball national team).

If RPing first, please feel free to name goalscorers, injure, and distribute cards to my players at will! You can also godmod events, though I'd appreciate advance warning if you want to take narrative liberties that I couldn't just as easily do to your team (due to being, e.g., a mostly-MT, mostly-human country). Put another way, metaphorical "godmodding" is welcome if clever, but I'd avoid the literal sense. Also, do not cause lasting harm in my country and/or to my citizens without contacting me first.

The Eshialand Soccer Federation
Baptism of Fire LXXV Champions
Roster for World Cup XCV
Image

Well that new beginning lasted all of four months.

Yep, once again, Eshialand is on the move. Following the Crisis of 2028, Eshialand rifted out of Atlantian Oceania after not even half a year there, with only a historically catastrophic 0-0-5 AOCAF with a mammoth -20 GD to show for it. Now, they're Esportivan, it's time for the new beginning to really begin.

But that will take time. It's been a while since the Owls have had anything to look forward to, anything to be proud of, but a new start means all of that doesn't matter. It's their year, their turn to shine, and they're going to prove it. Either that, or Kenny Morgan is going to have some explaining to do yet again... but hopes remain high, as they always have. This is the nation's team, and they will make this nation proud, no matter what.

First international: Aut-Ves-Nat 1-3 Eshialand (BoF LXXV)
Best win: Eshialand 5-0 The Jovannic (WCQ LXXXIX), Annyeong Oppa 0-5 Eshialand (IAC XIV), Eshialand 6–1 Mystylands (WCQ XCII), Eshialand 5–0 Rouyoute (WCQ XCII)
Worst loss: Valanora 8-1 Eshialand (AOCAF LXX), Milchama 8-1 Eshialand (AOCAF LXX)
Most goals for: Eshialand 6–1 Mystylands (WCQ XCII)
Most goals against: Valanora 8-1 Eshialand (AOCAF LXX), Milchama 8-1 Eshialand (AOCAF LXX)
Highest-scoring match: Valanora 8-1 Eshialand (AOCAF LXX), Milchama 8-1 Eshialand (AOCAF LXX)

Home Stadium: The Eshialand City SuperDome, Eshialand City (capacity: 75,000).
If you're playing in Eshialand City, expect to find a cosmopolitan city at the cutting edge of modern tech, with lots of culture to take in at the same time. Maybe you could go for a bite to eat at one of the many nice restaurants, or spend a nice day with a walk by the lakeshore. There are plenty of options for things to do, so the world is your oyster. The stadium itself is a very modern facility, having been built just a year ago in response to the Owls' incredible performance in the 75th Baptism of Fire, with a retractable roof in case of nasty weather (but don't expect to use it much).

Finals squad

STYLE MODIFIER +2

Image
Kit credit (IC: Ferideia; OOC: Tikariot)

Team name: Græntfjall
Trigram: GRÆ [GRF when not available]
Demonym/adjective: Græntfjaller
Team nickname: Snow Wolves

Coach: Image Ingþór Auðbjörnsson
Assistant coach: Image Saxi Dómaldsson

This is Thor's last ride in what has been an impressive career with the Snow Wolves: two World Cup semifinals, two Copa Rushmori finals (winning one), and two Eagl'e's Cup victories. After this he's back off to Pasarga, but will want to finish with a bang, not a whimper.

Squad: This is a longlist squad pool, from which each matchday a 26-person squad will be drawn. In practical terms, the player listed first at each position is most likely the starter, second the substitute, third and lower the non-playing reserve, etc. However, if I have not specified the squad or lineup, you may choose from this squad as you see fit in terms of RPing the team you play against. Græntfjaller teams usually start those wearing 1-11, except that Kamdyr players usually wear multiples of 13, and Járngrímur usually wears 22.
  • Names. -son names are men, -dóttir names women, -bur named non-binary. Græntfjallers are comfortable having their first name used instead of their surnames, though there’s no consistent standard on this. Players without a patronymic surname are Kamdyr, members of a minority nomadic community; all of the Kamdyr in this squad happen to be women. Hanif is sometimes referred to as Hanif Anwar, and Hermione and Samuel use Hui in preference to their clunky forced patronymics. Sara V is always referred to as Sara V to distinguish her from Sara K, even though the latter is no longer playing.
  • Sex. The Græntfjaller Premier League is open and it is seen as uncontroversial for men and women to play alongside each other. If you find female players completely immersion breaking, you can ignore my female players, though I will no longer be using all-male teams as this proved too complicated.
  • Transfers. I normally conduct transfers through the Transfer Window but if you have a desire to sign a player I am usually open to arranging a transfer outside that; send a TG/DM. I am particularly open to such deals when linked to an ongoing RP story.
  • Captaincy. Kæja Finnvarðsdóttir is the official captain, but if she's not playing you can pick someone else should you wish.
  • Timing. In my timeline this occurs 2 years after the last WC and 1 year after the CR. It occurs after TW42 and the IFCF games are over, and during the next international domestic season; players on foreign teams will be assumed to be given leave.
  • RP collaboration. To improve accessibility I have tried to trim down the level of detail in this roster; you don't really need to know all my players' religious and political beliefs or which parts of their anatomy are tattooed to describe a 1-1 draw. Nonetheless if there's detail you'd like to know more about, or a story you'd like to collaborate on, please do contact me as I am always very open to this.
Goalkeepers
Ásólfur's calm head and football intelligence have led him to hold down the #1 shirt, but narrowly, ahead of Hanif, whose athletic saves and abilities with the ball at his feet should still see him get a few starts. Sveinn has leapfrogged Sana in the pecking order thanks to his impressive domestic form. Samuel and Annabella are younger but ready for more experience.

Defenders
The defensive system has been fairly consistent throughout Thor's tenure: two pacy, creative fullbacks who can play forward into wingback roles, flanking two stalwart center backs. The two Wirr Tsi-based fullbacks operate as a tandem for club and country, though Hermione is considered much the stronger player and a clearer consensus first choice at her position. Asbjørn, the first second-generation Snow Wolf (his father captained the team that won the BoF) may be on his last cycle, but will always give his all, whether in defense, running up to offer height from an attacking corner, and joining in some spontaneous right-wing hooliganism. Anarr is recovered from injury and back as his preferred starting partner; of the rest, Glóa is proving the most impressive as she makes a name for herself in Savojarna.

Midfielders
Erin Marshlily was meant to be the deep-lying playmaker of the future but a horrendous injury has severely set her back and her recovery has been slow. In her absence, Thor has tended to turn back to more traditional defensive midfielder biffers, foremost among them the young but at times callow Hrútur, who is really more of a third center back; Valtter, a veteran journeyman who's played all over the world, no longer has the knees for 90 minutes but is good for some defensive work off the bench. None of the options offer Erin's (former) skill set. Fortunately, there's skill in spades up the pitch in the form of captain Kæja Finnvarðsdóttir, who may now be the best player the Snow Wolves have ever had. Not always the most assertive, she's growing into the role of captain, as the AI image generators can attest. Lotte Leonardsdóttir, who has recently become the first Græntfjaller to sign for the most famous club in the multiverse, is barely a step behind her, while Sara V tends to get pushed out to play on the left wing despite this not being her starting position for her club, just to make the formation work; Varða, a more specialist winger, sometimes starts. On the right, Rebekka has emerged as the unquestioned first choice as she improves her physicality to go with her speed and deft touch. Loyal servant Danny sees more of the bench than the field these days but remains a fan favorite. Because of the fullbacks, sometimes a narrow midfield is used.

Járngrímur and Benjamín are both big bodied classic center forwards, but they work surprisingly well as a combination, so much so that they've largely displaced Amandara, who can run rings around both of them in terms of raw skills but lacks their BFG stature.

All home games will be played in the capital city of Háttmark, alternating between two stadiums:

Grand National Arena [GNA]
The main national stadium, the 50,000 seater used to be the country's only international-level sports facility. It is the most famous stadium in the country and home of multiple time champions Gunzlach, "the Gunners". The name reflects their origins in the old military arsenal stationed there. On the north side of Háttmark, the GNA is built in what remains a fairly conservative, working-class district, with rumblings of disquiet over recent immigrant arrivals and rapid house price rises in the wake of gentrification.

Grander International Arena [GIA]
The 50,001 seater is home of Steinaux, "the Sausages". Their name is rooted in the working class meat processing and dock warehouse district, which has undergone substantial renovation. Unlike rivals Gunzlach across the river, Steinaux is now located in an upmarket neighborhood with tech and pharma jobs booming.

Tactics:
Newly hired manager Geraldo Rys and his assistant Mara Tapi have decided to implement a slightly aggressive 3-5-2 formation in Zenic's first tournament in decades. This formation is intended to maximize the wingbacks' strengths without neutralizing the rest of team's impact. The young wingbacks' stamina allows them to go forward and cautiously assist in attack to create goal-scoring chances while still being able to get back and provide numbers to stop opposition scoring opportunities. Meanwhile, the Centerbacks, Central Midfielders and Forwards create a solid pillar through the heart of the pitch that is intended to both be an alternative route to goal scoring and a multi layered obstruction to the opponents.

My opponent, if they RP first, may do the following:

Choose my goalscorers Y
Godmod scoring events Y
RP injuries to my players N
Godmod injuries to my players N
Hand out yellow cards to my players Y (within reason)
Hand out red cards to my players Y (within reason)
Godmod other events (TG me first)

Notes:

For the first time in decades, the Emperor of Zenic feels that the empire is safe enough to resume certain high-profile national activities, such as national team sports. Currently in the tail end of a civil war with the insurrectionist group known as ZSF (Zenic Sans Frontiers), the Empire, thanks to Emperor Santiago Cuauhtémoc, has been able to diminish the ZSF's presence in the last decade to the point where the ZSF has resorted to guerilla warfare in a last gasp attempt to continue the conflict. The masses have cautiously begun to slowly go about their routines year after year with less and less fear.

In order to field Zenic's first men's Futbol national team in ages, Minister of Sports Dimi has worked with manager Geraldo Zys to select the 22 best young players in the Empire, including some collegiate players in the process. Their plan is to build a team via "trial by fire" in one of the most well known regional championships to either get these players ready for the World Cup or see what positions need to be replaced. They currently train at one of the few stadiums still standing, or not under reconstruction, in the Empire: Philosophia Colosseum. Many Zenicians don't expect much from the team in this tournament but are just happy to see their nation participate in the prestigious Copa Rushmori once again.

Please assume YES for all answers in the Permission Box – just TG me first if it's particularly insane and/or egregious.
Ages are as of World Cup XCV Finals. Please subtract two years for first half of qualifying, one year for second half.

KRYTENIA 2314 WORLD CUP SQUAD
Modifier: +4

Image
Beginning their football journey way back in the second Baptism of Fire competition, Krytenia are one of the oldest national teams still competing in international football. With five World Cups hosted, as well as a smattering of AOCAFs, Cups of Harmony, Baptism of Fires, and even a CAFA Cup, they also have a deserved reputation for organising top-level football competitions. What they don't have, though, is a reputation for winning. They are yet to win a World Cup; in fact, they have only reached one final, losing to Aguazul in World Cup 58. Five semi-final defeats are what set the tone for the Dragons – indeed, losing in the semis of a major competition is known as the “Krytenian Curse”. That said, there is silverware in their cabinet. Having created the AOCAF Cup, Krytenia eventually won the fifty-second iteration of the competition; more recently, they won Cup of Harmony 78 and nearly added a second two cycles later, losing to fellow co-hosts Græntfjell on home soil. A third major trophy took a while to come, but with victory in the sixth CAFA Cup the Krytenian team joined the small band of nations who have won two different regional competitions.

They may have a reputation as the multiverse's nearly men, but never let yourself be deluded that the Krytenians are defeatist. Even though they may come up short, it's a very rare thing to see a Dragons team simply give up. Be aware that when the sky blue shirts are on the field, you will be in for a tough game, and victory will always be hard-earned.

Image
Manager – Tommy WARREN, Age 37
A persistent knee injury may have curtailed Warren's career before it even started, but it hasn't dulled his enthusiasm for the game. BXE saw his work with Bradwell Saints' academy team and suggested the young coach to the KFA. Taking a leaf from his Qusmi mentor's book, Warren is made his mark at the Under-18 World Cup, guiding the teenagers to a fourth-place finish. Fresh from that experience, Warren has been learning at the feet of BXE, following Graham Lawton's illness and forced retirement. World Cup 95 sees him promoted to the top job, albeit with BXE behind the scenes to assist.

Technical Director – BRELK-XERAL Erv (QUS), Age 72
Started their career in their native Qusmo, where they brought first KF Atlov and then Atlov Juzuna to prominence (or at least relevance) in the domestic and international game. This led to them getting the national team job at Brenecia, which resulted in a Campeonato Esportiva trophy. After some initial promise, the team appeared to have hit a plateau; not only that, but for CAFA VI “BXE” had the additional challenge of being without assistant manager Graham Lawton, whose neurological ailment has forced him into full retirement. It mattered not, however, as the wily Qusmi guided the Dragons to their third-ever piece of major silverware. Has moved back from frontline management to mentor young Tommy Warren in his first World Cup qualifying campaign.

Goalkeeping Coach – Aaron SHEPHERD, Age 54
Defensive Coach – Gavin HEALEY, Age 40
Offensive Coach – Alex VINELLI, Age 59
Physiotherapist – Julian GRANT, Age 44

Image

Amanda BACH
Age: 27
Position: Goalkeeper
Club: Cardonia FC (CAD)

Given Krytenia's non-segregated approach to football and the nation's propensity for producing talented goalkeepers, it's perhaps surprising that Bach is the first woman called up to the national side. The Cardonia stopper seems to be made up entirely of limbs; her former teammates at Caversham steered into this skid by nicknaming her “The Black Widow” - after the spider, before anyone asks.

Image

Mark MAROSIC
Age: 25
Position: Goalkeeper
Club: Casuals Osteria

Arguably the safest pair of hands in the country, Marosic has been developing nicely at Coalfields. Perhaps still lacks a bit of agility, which is what's keeping Bach ahead of him in the pecking order...for now, at least.

Image

James BOGDANOVIC
Age: 26
Position: Goalkeeper
Club: Foxchester Rovers

One from the James Orwell playbook, Bogdanovic seems happier with the ball at his feet rather than in his hands. Don't be fooled, though, as he's still a reliable shot-stopper. That's what convinced Foxchester Rovers to sign him for their first-ever assault on the O-League Premier, anyway – and it seemed to work, as his heroics kept the Foxes up.

Image
Image

Lucas CAMARA
Age: 26
Position: Right-back
Club: Baskita FC (PAS)

Cultured wing-back, comfortable both in tracking back and with ball at feet. Loves an overlap.

Image

Harry LEWIS
Age: 26
Position: Left-back
Club: Dereapolis City

Bags of pace and excellent positioning. Lewis does tend to see tackling as a last resort, and is happier guiding opposing wingers down a cul-de-sac instead.

Image

Robert GORMAN
CAPTAIN
Age: 33
Position: Centre-back
Club: Straudum VV (KOR)

A thinking man's defender, Gorman is a calm head at the back. Not the best in the air, but makes up for it with accuracy in the tackle and excellent distribution. His cerebral style has earned him the captain's armband and a move to Ko-oren.

Image

Leon JONES
Age: 26
Position: Centre-back
Club: Avondale City (SYL)

Coming through the ranks at the Southern Arena at such a young age is no mean feat. Jones, though, looks like the real deal. Excellent read of the game and metronomic timing in the tackle. The Jones-Gorman football IQ score is off the charts.

Image

Geno FOSTER
Age: 24
Position: Centre-back
Club: Ashton Olympic

Impressed in Krytenia's run to the Under-18 World Cup semis, before knuckling down to improve his weak point – positioning – in Ashton. Imperious In the air; is at this point waiting for Robert Gorman to hurry up and retire already.

Image

Seán Ó LAOGHAIRE
Age: 24
Position: Left-back
Club: Emberton Hibernians

May be a little too no-nonsense to hold down a place in the national team, but just the kind of full-back required to “absolutely not” an opposing winger.

Image

Alexander SOLIS
Age: 20
Position: Centre-back
Club: Emberton Reds

Looks like he'd be knocked over by a stiff breeze, but don't let that fool you. Solis is a well-balanced centre-half who works his craft through speed and timing. That said, can come off second-best against an old-fashioned physical centre-forward.

Image

Cameron McKEOWN
Age: 19
Position: Right-back
Club: Caledon Simpson

He might look about eleven, but inside that youthful shell is the mind of a veteran. His ability to police the right flank proved very useful in helping Caledon to the O-League title.

Image

Ian SANDERSON
Age: 19
Position: Centre-back
Club: Bromham City

His ability to mop up his team-mates errors at the back has led to Sanderson picking up the unusual nickname of “Kitchen Roll” at the Navies. The nearest thing the national team has to playing a sweeper.

Image
Image

Darren GABRIEL
Age: 27
Position: Central midfield
Club: Royal Emberton

Ten thousands terriers in a human suit. Will chase down anyone with the ball in range. Also has a good eye for a pass. A one-man engine room, his style allows Salvador a bit more freedom to roam.

Image

Jules RENARD
Age: 29
Position: Right midfield
Club: Beckton Supermarine

Tormalay-born winger snatched from CFF Monthuez's squad as a teenager by the Mariners. Flies down the right flank with strawberry blonde locks flowing; a shampoo advert on legs.

Image

Owen HALLER
Age: 30
Position: Left midfield
Club: Emberton Reds

Free-kick specialist and deadly accurate in the pass. Having Lewis in the wide positions behind him should allow Haller to cut inside and create havoc in the middle of the park as well.

Image

Esteban SALVADOR
VICE-CAPTAIN
Age: 29
Position: Central midfield
Club: Avidia United

The latest in a long line of Krytenian central midfield puppetmasters. Salvador looks so at home with the ball at his feet, you're expecting him to be playing in tartan slippers. Offers a dead-ball alternative to Owen Haller as well. With Gabriel alongside, expect the Avidia United man to work in a more advanced role when his side is on the ball.

Image

Emmanuel CURIE
Age: 26
Position: Central midfield
Club: CFF Monthuez

Talented ball-playing midfielder with an eye for a free kick. His more forward-minded play gives him versatility in the squad, either in midfield or at half-forward.

Image

Billy PUGH
Age: 25
Position: Left midfield
Club: Royal Emberton

Not one to cut inside much, but Pugh can beat full-backs for pace and whip in a fierce one.

Image

Aaron WHARFEDALE
Age: 24
Position: Central midfield
Club: Bromham City

More of an attacking player than a conventional midfielder, but happy to track back and help out defensively if needed.

Image

Shawn BURNS
Age: 22
Position: Right midfield
Club: Caledon Simpson

Old-fashioned winger with bags of speed. Overlaps well with McKeown for his club; could likely do the same with Camara if the situation arises.

Image

Eddie CULVERHOUSE
Age: 21
Position: Central midfield
Club: Mercia Bromham

Midfield dynamo reminiscent of the likes of Wilson, O'Neill, and Snelders. Has broken through in a talented Mercia Bromham team and is definitely one to watch for the future.

Image
Image

Greg WILLIAMS
Age: 29
Position: Half-forward
Club: Ousevale Borough

Diminutive (5'6”) attacker, good close control, bags of pace, finds space well, general pain in the backside for defenders. Or, in other words, pretty much every Ousevale forward ever, only shorter.

Image

Angus JACK
Age: 32
Position: Striker
Club: Katashi-Kanatsu (KOR)

In the words of the Cyan Army:

“He's just A. Jack in the box, from the region with a fox, and he can score just about anything....”

Image

Reece KLAASEN
Age: 27
Position: Striker
Club: Stanton Town

Apex predator of a striker, seems to find a way to get on to any ball delivered into his general area. A useful skill considering the bunch of cloggers he had to deal with at Aigburth; has found life much easier in Stanton.

Image

Ryan COSTELLO
Age: 24
Position: Half-forward
Club: Avidia United

Very much a “do-it-all” forward, happy to play as the focal man or as a false nine. Happiest with ball at his feet, looking to give defenders migraines.

Image

Callum CROFT
Age: 23
Position: Half-forward
Club: Caledon Simpson

An absolute magician with the ball at his feet. His goals and assists were instrumental in winning the title for the Lions.

Image
Image
“System Erv”, named for...well, take a guess, is on the face of it a 4-2-3-1. With the Krytenians on the ball, however, expect this to change quickly to a 4-2-4 as the second line pushes up to support the striker. The two holding midfielders will be the fulcrum of the attack; expect the ball to move quickly between light blue shirts, especially on the counter. Press, pace, and overloading and overwhelming opposition defences will be the order of the day.

Off the ball, Krytenia will play a high line; they may be vulnerable to balls over the top – if opposition attackers can time their runs to avoid getting caught offside and beat the Dragons' defenders for pace.

The Archalitian Pirates
STYLE MOD: 0

About the Pirates
The Archalitian football team, nicknamed the “Pirates” in accordance with the Pirate’s Republic, are a fledgling
team in the Football world. Two cycles back, Archalit's Pirates debuted in BoF 80 where they saw overall
success, taking silver overall, but proceeding to fall short, staying stuck in the midtable for much of the World
Cup Qualifiers. In the proceeding cycle however, everything changed as the team managed to go all the way to
playoffs only for their run to be cut short in a despairingly lopsided matchup; Archalit vs Chromatika. Still, they
held their head high after getting knocked out and proceeded to podium in the Cup of Harmony, going all the
way to the final four only to be stopped by Milchama. Now, the team has seen success and knows it can perform,
and it is desperate to come in swinging and with some major roster changes, is craving qualification into World
Cup Proper.

About Archalit
Archalit is a socialist state associated with The Communist Bloc. After a recent regime change, the nation has begun the radical shift from an oppressive totalitarian state with closed borders to a democratic, socialist state that follows the doctrine of Libertarian Socialism. Because of the push to participate on the international stage, the Pirate's Republic of Archalit began a rapidly developing sports program. They are notable for their unique history with Piracy and complete lack of prisons. The nation is massive and it's population is an astounding 6 billion, although the birth rate is steady and showing no signs of changing. The capital of Archalit is Charkara, the home of the Archalit Olympic Stadium, housing a capacity of ninety-five thousand people.
Roster Information
A lot of things are changing this time around with Head of Professional Soccer Krystol Mays trying to push for World Cup Qualification this cycle around. Notably, Damien Looke has been sacked leaving an opening for the young Benjamin Vaiss to step in as substitute goalkeeper. This is a very exciting precedent that is being set as Benjamin Vaiss is just 20 years old, and with the Archalitian U20 and U18 teams notably unable to gather enough funding to enter the international tournaments (not to mention the PLF being ousted of underlying corruption tying into the massive delays that have been seen), there are very few opportunities for young footballers to participate on a grand stage.

The defenders are seeing a big shake-up as well with defenders Jacqueline Ray, Aloni Malakai, and Luka Tominiko all getting the boot and Myst Magica losing her starter position in favor of the former substitute Sophie Ishida. This also has led to new faces coming onto the Archalitian NT as substitute defenders. Essentially, what we're seeing is a total reinterpretation of the defensive line as some of the biggest weaknesses of the team last cycle were the goals conceded to stronger teams in rapid succession, leading to scores quickly spiraling out of control (as seen in Archalit vs Quebec 1 and Archalit vs Chromatika). The need for a stronger line has caused the level of overhaul that we're seeing now.

Speaking of massive levels of overhaul, none of that is being seen in the midfield. With the exception of Duke Sondas officially losing his captaincy, some substitutes being sacked, and Eloria Mizuki being officially instated as a starter in place of Ethan San, not much really changed in the midfield. In Krystol Mays' eyes, "a key component to our success has always been the midfield, and there is very little that needs to be tweaked or changed in that area of the field."

Importantly, however, one big change has been made in the forwards. Namely, Micha Sooza's retirement from the NT. As a result of this, Minato Gee has stepped up as starter and a new player has been introduced as a substitute forward. Minato Gee has been very public with her excitement for this position, as she is "finally able to match the heights her brother reached."

Brannfjords Fotballforbund

About Brannfjord:

Brannfjord is a nation with a long and proud history, rooted in the ancient traditions and legends of the Vikings, the so-skilled ocean navigators that wanted to forge commercial spots across the entire Sporting Universe, including Rushmore. Its name means “the fjord of fire”, referring to the volcanic activity that shaped its landscape and gave it its distinctive features: mountains, glaciers, waterfalls, geysers, fjords and hot springs.

The origins of Brannfjord can be traced back to the 11th century, when a group of Viking explorers led by Egil Thorsen sailed westward from what is now the Polar Islandstates in search of new lands. They reached the western coast of the continent of Pavola, where they founded a settlement called Grimnes (whose name stands for “The Village on the Rocky Promontory/Fjord). However, they soon faced hostility from the native inhabitants. After several skirmishes and raids, they decided to abandon Brannfjord and return to the northern isles they called home.

On their way back, they encountered a storm that blew them off course and brought them to what they thought to be an unknown island in the north of Pavola. which they named it Brannfjord. After the fiery eruptions they witnessed from its volcanoes. They were amazed by the beauty and richness of the land, which offered them fertile soil, abundant wildlife and natural resources. They decided to stay and establish a permanent colony.

They also discovered that the island was inhabited by another group of Viking settlers, who had arrived there a few years earlier from the East. They called themselves Graentfjallers (green mountain dwellers), after the name they gave to their territory: Graentfjall (green mountain). They welcomed the newcomers and shared their knowledge and experience with them.

It turned to be a shocking moment for the Viking settlers of Brannfjord when they realised that they covered more land to the West, reaching the fjords, as they noticed that Grimnes was still standing. In that moment, they were aware that the storm sent them back to the place they disliked because of the native inhabitants, which left the place. After they realised, they considered to stay in the place, due to the natural beauties, resources of the place, and the connections with Graentfjallers living in the East.

The Brannfjorders and the Graentfjallers lived in harmony and prosperity for several centuries, developing a culture and a society that combined the best aspects of their Viking heritage and their new environment. They followed the old Norse religion, worshipping the gods of Asgard and Valhalla. With some twists, Brannfjord decided to create its own law system, based on the principles of honour, justice and democracy. They held regular assemblies called Storting, where they discussed and decided on matters of common interest. They also maintained their tradition of exploration and trade, sailing across the seas and establishing contacts with other nations.

However, their peaceful and isolated existence was disrupted by the arrival of new invaders from different places across Rushmore: In the 18th century, the invaders began to expand its empire and influence across the world, seeking new territories and resources. It set its eyes on Brannfjord, which it considered as part of its domain by virtue of force, as they had navies and armies ready to attack the coasts of Brannfjord and get into the nation.

The invaders sent several expeditions to Brannfjord, trying to establish their presence and authority there. They encountered fierce resistance from the natives, who refused to submit or surrender their lands and rights. The invaders resorted to violence and deception, attacking and plundering the settlements, kidnapping and enslaving the people, spreading diseases and destroying the environment. They also tried to impose their religion and culture on them, forcing them to convert to Christianity and adopt their laws and customs.

The Brannfjorders fought back with courage and determination, using their skills and knowledge to defend themselves. They also received support from other peoples in the region, as they were recognised as a continuity of them, and allies at some extent. They also formed alliances with other nations that opposed foreign domination.

The independence of Brannfjord marked a new era in their history, opening new opportunities and challenges for the small nations. They had to face the consequences of the war: rebuilding their infrastructure, recovering their economy, healing their wounds… They also had to adapt to the changes in the world: embracing modernity, participating in global affairs, dealing with new threats… They had to find their place and role in the international community: defining their identity, asserting their interests, promoting their values.

They also had to deal with new neighbours: The Kytler Peninsulae and Tikariot. Neighbours that have pretty different characteristics than those used to be considered as “normal” in Brannfjord, which was initially considered as a potential threat. Instead of being in a potentially dangerous situation, both nations respected, and continue to do so, the sovereignty of Brannfjord, not having big border issues or anything related for the last couple of decades.

Brannfjord faced these challenges with courage and wisdom, preserving their unity and solidarity, while also respecting their diversity and autonomy. They maintained their culture and traditions, while also embracing innovation and progress. They defended their interests and rights, while also cooperating and collaborating with other nations. They remained faithful to their values and ideals, while also being open and tolerant to other views and beliefs.

They continued to write their saga, as the seals of Brannfjord.

Players' Descriptions and Tactics:

Ivar Øygard
Ivar Øygard is a calm and collected leader who commands his area with authority. He's a seasoned plyer already for Brannfjordling standards, as he has played Første Divisjon football since he was 15. Gifted with lightning-quick reflexes and outstanding shot-stopping ability, he is the best option available among the limited pool that the nation can provide for a national representation. One of his main treats is his ability to play as a sweeper-keeper, also a risk lover, as he often wants to try penalty kicks when required.

Håkon Hansen
Håkon Hansen, the Brannfjordling centre-back, is a towering and imposing defender who may be a nightmare for attackers. He's a strong and physical player who is excellent in the air and reads the game superbly, this partly because Hansen comes from a footballing family; with his father and grandfather both having played professionally. An important thing to consider is that Hansen may, sometimes, get out of control because of how furious he can be against rivals, or even teammates when a mistake happens.

Lars-Erik Berg
A dynamic and versatile defender who loves to get forward. He's a quick and agile player who is excellent at overlapping and creating chances for his teammates, not being fearful to take some initiative and command any chance to attack. Berg grew up in Senja, a town whose main industry is the wood processing, and has been playing football since he was a child; this has helped him to forge a strong personality, to the point that he might take the initiative in case Øygard is having a bad day.

Tobias Thorbjørnsen
Tobias Thorbjørnsen is a young right-back who is quickly making a name for himself in the Brannfjording team. He is known for his athleticism, his crossing ability, and his ability to get forward and create chances. Decided, he might go up and attack, despite the manager may tell him not to do so, but he will do because he has a good dribbling, and a capacity to return and defend fast. There’s a reason why he’s nicknamed De Tog (The train).

Kristoffer Eriksen
A surprisingly creative and imaginative player in the right wing of the team, he is somebody who is always looking to spark something special. He's a skillful player with an eye for transitioning the ball forward, who is excellent at dribbling and beating defenders; somebody who will not doubt to do the best to score a goal or, at least, serve a lovely pass to the strikers. A man from the far away islands, he will do his best to optimise space, something he has learned playing indoors in the harsh winters.

Eivind Haugen
Haugen is a person who can try to anticipate to the happenings and a tactician, who is always looking to make things happen. He's a tenacious and tireless player who is excellent at winning the ball back and setting up his teammates, truly living to the Brannfjordling way of being a team player rather than being a solo singer in the field. Haugen is the perfect companion for somebody as Sæther, as he will try to get in the middle of a marker and Sæther himself, protecting the brain of the team at all costs.

Øystein Sæther
Sæther is a technically gifted and intelligent player who is the heartbeat of the team, making him the best option for a central midfielder in the nation. He's a versatile player who can play in a variety of positions and is always looking to get on the ball and dictate the tempo of the game, not being shy to press for it and launch the team to attack as a horde. Sæther, personally, can be reserved, but he shows his extrovert characteristics in the field, being almost unrecognizable to what he uses to be.

Erik Nordby
Erik Nordby is a hard-working and dedicated player who is always looking to improve himself, a lover of constant improvement and quality books from industries and services. He's a strong and physical player who is excellent at winning the ball back and protecting his defence. Nordby grew up in a small village in eastern Brannfjord and has been playing football since he was a child, with a mindset inspired by his parents, who are process engineers for one of the biggest telcos in the nation, who suggested him to find a hobby, but instead, he found a profession out of it.

Martin Nordstrøm
Martin Nordstrøm is a towering and powerful striker who is a menace for defenders, to the point that he has invested many hours in bodybuilding to achieve a strong physicality for the game. He's a clinical finisher with a keen eye for goal who is also excellent in the air albeit slow, he will act more as a poacher rather than a striker who will create his own chances.

Sigurd Haugen
The epitome of a lightning-quick and agile striker who is a nightmare for defenders to mark, possessing a technicality rarely seen among Brannfjordling folk. He's a prolific goal scorer with an eye for the spectacular who is also excellent at linking up play with his teammates, confident enough to try unexpected methods to finish plays with a goal.

Emil Helsing
Helsing was born and raised in a city in the island of Nærøy. He started playing football at a young age, and he quickly showed his talent. Helsing joined the Nærøy HamKam youth academy at the age of 14. He progressed through the ranks, and he made his senior debut at the age of 16. Helsing has quickly become a star for HamKam. He is a regular scorer, and he has helped the team to achieve success. Helsing is a talented and exciting player. He has the potential to become one of the best strikers in the world.

The Brannfjordling Style of Play

The Brannfjordling team plays an attacking style of football that is designed to create chances and score goals through the exploit of creativity, team chemistry and clinical finishers up front. The team is built around a strong midfield that can control the game and creating opportunities for the forwards but is also capable to control the tempo and shut down the defence when needed.

The Goalkeeper

Ivar Øygard is a talented keeper who is known for his calmness and composure under pressure. He is also an excellent shot-stopper and can make world-class saves. Sometimes, he might want to take risks to the point that he will leave the penalty area and will play as a sweeper, often trying to dive and clear the ball in that way, aside from taking free kicks and penalties when he wants. The manager has given him, along with the rest of teammates, enough confidence and freedom to step up and do set pieces.

The Defence

Håkon Hansen and Lars-Erik Berg are a formidable central defensive partnership. Hansen is a strong and physical player who is excellent in the air, while Berg is a quick and agile player who is good at reading the game. Both can combine through each other’s advantages, but Hansen tends to be the dominant centre back due to his game reading talent, as we will see Berg following him or doing what he instructs Berg to do at any given chance.

The Midfield

Øystein Sæther is a technically gifted and intelligent player who is the heartbeat of the team. He can play in a variety of positions and is always looking to get on the ball and dictate the tempo of the game, often switching with Eivind Haugen. The latter is a natural strategist and tactician who is always looking to make things happen. He is excellent at winning the ball back and setting up Sæther, or they may exchange roles when Sæther decides, allowing the team to react to a different range of scenarios, using the individual skills of both to adapt the pace of the team to the demands of the match.

The Attack

Martin Nordstrøm and Sigurd Haugen are a dangerous duo up front. Nordstrøm is a towering and powerful striker who is a menace for defenders, while Haugen is a lightning-quick and agile striker who is a nightmare to mark. Nordstrøm can either receive crosses and aim to do headers, but also can be able to act as a pivot, taking the ball down and serving to whoever is able to create a chance and score, be it Haugen or Eriksen who may arrive in support at any given time.

The Brannfjordling Style in Action

Brannfjord typically starts the game by playing out from the back. Øygard will look to find Sæther or Haugen in midfield, who will then use their passing and dribbling skills to create chances for the forwards. They might also rotate to a situation where Haugen will take a dominant role, in that scenario, the team will enter in defensive mode, and Sæther will try to read the game and control the defenders on their movements.

If the team is unable to break down the opposition defense, they will look to create chances through set pieces. Øygard and Eriksen are both excellent at taking free kicks and corners, and they are capable of scoring goals from long range. Øygard will be always the first choice to kick penalties, that when Sigurd Haugen tries to get actively fouled in the area, achieving the penalty.
This team is also capable of playing on the counterattack. Nordstrøm and Eivind Haugen are both quick and agile, and they are capable of scoring goals from distance, while Eriksen will always try to push by himself and score or prepare a pass for the strikers.

Strengths

Its attacking style of play and its talented midfield will always serve as a stronghold for the team, providing multiple options for them to capitalise and score. Sæther and Haugen are both capable of creating chances for their teammates, and Nordstrøm and Haugen are both capable of scoring goals, but Eriksen can try to do both things. There are multiple choices for this team to score, which really helps when player is having a bad day in the pitch.

Weaknesses

Defence and its lack of experience can be quite of a toll for the Brannfjordlings. Hansen and Berg are a good central defensive partnership, but they are not as experienced as some of the other defenders in the multiverse; this first adventure will make them recognise the ground they’re stepping in, improve and being able to become a strong force for this team. It doesn’t helps being a young squad at all. They might be a fast and creative team, but the experience needed at some point of the Qualifiers will not be there for help, that’s why they must compensate by being resolute and courageous.

Home Venue

Blekebakken Stadion - Capacity: 28,750 – Grimnes.

Image

Tenants: Ministry for Sports and Outdoor Recreation
Built in: 1975.
Altitude: 15 meters above sea level.
Local teams: Brannfjording National Team.
Data: History is going to be written in this venue, as it has enjoyed little to no usage during the couple of years prior to today of activity, mostly Brannfjording Første Divisjon matches and the Nasjonal Mesterskappet happening. A conveniently located venue in the outskirts of Grimnes, with hotel included that might allow visiting teams to feel comfortable when it comes to movement and trainings... But that's when the commodity ends, as this stadium may have some hostile environment issues as the fans can get rowdy during a match, as they aren't used to see foreign national teams playing. If there's a lot of contact, fans might get hostile and get into the match, or simply insult or press hard against their own team if they're losing the match. Grimnesfolk aren't known for being the most pleasant of peoples in this nation, as they can get quite rowdy if things aren't going in their way or after getting out of work, so expect some hostility and insults from the fans during the game, but not of the threatening kind or the one where your life could be at stake.

NEPHARA
World Ranking:
Like 10th?
Preferred Formation: 4-2-3-1
Secondary Formation: 4-4-2
Style Modifier: 0
Home Stadium: The Farham Arena in Sabrefell is reserved for the biggest games, but Nephara is a large enough country that it spreads its matches across the nation.
Kit Supplier: Kirola
Nickname: The Cormorants

Nephara are Chugging Along. They're doing about as well as is their ridiculously demanding concept of a par. People hoped for better with Cantor, but her tenure thus far has just been frustratingly stable... even if the 4-4-2 does at last appear to be sticking. Still, young talents are starting to fire up, and the hope is that, this time, Cantor makes good on their promise. If they're bundled out of the World Cup by anything other than a giant, Cantor's job will be under threat.

Tactics
Image
Nepharan football is based around playing hard, pressing aggressively, playing for keeps. Occasionally this leaves gaps behind the high defensive line, though most Nepharan goalkeepers are in the sweeping mould these days to compensate. Marchers are, by and large, a physically imposing folk, and eager to throw their size around. The footballing culture is intensely competitive, and those that survive to make their way to the top are hellbent on winning at any cost. Elbows to the face. Subtle digs in the ribs. Diving is dishonest when opponents do it but streetwise when Nepharim do it. In short, Nephara are the bully from two years above who picked you, specifically, out as a natural target.

That is often the foreign perspective, but it overlooks a key fact; Nepharan football can honestly be beautiful to watch. Generations of players brought up on dry plains or asphalt play the ball quickly and fearlessly along the ground, never sideways when there's a forward option open, always looking to stretch and probe and stay one really good pass away from a goal. Nepharim are undoubtedly physical, even cynical, but their success has been built off the backs of ruthless, fast-paced passing football.

Their formation is fairly rigid and disciplined, with plenty of strength all across the pitch, particularly in the forms of Constantine and Sebold ahead of Scales and Roback in the heart of defence. Madita Brewer plays a floating role as a creative playmaker off the right, with Loeher a more traditional winger.

Common Substitutes
If their attacking approach isn't working, then the most clear switches of approach are to take off Kulesza for either the silky playmaker Kvasina, the more subtle Berenguer or, as a 'break glass in case of emergencies' option, pure goalscorer Bravura Harper to partner Vetiver up front. Vetiver will never be taken off the field if Nephara need a goal.
Gale will frequently be replaced in midfield, either by the brawler Rosziter (if protecting a lead) or for the more experienced Constantine.
Anhope will replace Sebold if the Cormorants are sitting on a lead; otherwise, Fang generally comes on.
The fullbacks have to do a lot of work, and Cantor will frequently substitute on Swain or Mueller just as a fresh set of legs late in the game.

The Godhead
For home matches, and during international tournaments, Nephara wheels out the 'Godhead', a giant boulder with an eerie resemblance to Gethin Ramsey, first manager of the Cormorants in the modern era and by now long dead. Nepharim have a superstitious streak, and while nobody's saying it is, in fact, the mystic reincarnation of their most iconic leader, nobody's quite not saying it, either. The Godhead is traditionally 'walked' to the stadium by Nepharan ultras using an intricate series of ropes, and often a flare is wedged into its 'mouth' to simulate a smoking cigar.

Staff
Manager - Igrene Cantor - Age 56
Assistant Manager - Valery Cain - Age 60
One of the few people to have won the World Cup as both a player and a manager, Igrene Cantor excels at building chemistry and a true, tight-knit unit, squeezing the absolute most out of the parts available to her. An absolute dream to a Nephara side that can often be less than the sum of its parts. Cantor thinks of each player in terms of what they bring to the complete picture, not just as a rating out of a hundred; she won't just pick the best eleven players, but a coherent, fully functioning squad that would die for each other on the pitch. Cain is an odd choice of assistant manager, a journeyman manager across Nephara's pyramid, yet somehow Cantor clearly sees a kindred spirit.

Goalkeepers
1 - GK - Medusa Strand (Image Chromatik) - Age 32 - 79 caps, 33 clean sheets
A steady, focused personality, or perhaps no personality at all. Strand is a superb shot-stopper who did not let a few errors early in her career get her down, and the dividends have paid off. Her decisiveness coming off her line, command of her area and ability to sweep behind the defensive line have made her Cantor's preferred goalkeeper... though shaky form through WC94 put that in doubt.

12 - GK - Toxothea Sebring (Image Crisisbless) - Age 31 - 24 caps, 13 clean sheets
A tall, graceful goalkeeper, with a slightly ungainly look disguising remarkable agility between the sticks. Has an oddly prowling gait. Has never quite convinced at international level, until a recent, almost interrupted string of clean sheets after being given a shot in WC95 qualifying.

20 - GK - Chary Longstreet (Image CA Paulinthal) - Age 27 - 21 caps, 9 clean sheets
An oasis of calm in goal, Longstreet moves with an effortless grace and commands her area with quiet authority. That sense of reliability is invaluable on the national stage, and it appears the laconic Barossian is set to get her chance.

Defenders
2 - RB - Tiamat Holden (Image AFC Treason) - Age 26 - 42 caps, 2 goals
Rightback is traditionally a problem position for Nephara, but the air of absolute reliability Holden exudes has elevated her above more mercurial peers. She's not the most dynamic presence going forward, preferring to keep in position to link with midfield, and ready to spring into defensive action at a moment's notice..

3 - LB - Tanith Xu (Image Myana) - Age 27 - 80 caps, 8 goals
Seen as Nephara's best up-and-coming defender, hatchet-faced Xu's severe affect and features lend her an aura of authority well beyond her years. She's a jack of all trades, able to drop into midfield, bolt on the overlap and properly defend equally well, and her razor-sharp intelligence means she can make the most of that versatility.

5 - CB - Vetta Roback (Image Sabrefell Athletic) - Age 29 - 63 caps, 3 goals
It took some time for Roback to establish herself at club level, but once done, she never looked back. A Champions League winner with an all-encompassing sense of calm in the box; no matter how dire things get, or how close the opposition come, there's always the sense that Roback will, somehow, bail the Cormorants out.

6 - CB - Anaximander Scales (Image Brinemouth) - Age 31 - 124 caps, 5 goals
Captain
An absolutely massive, bruising defender, Scales' ability to bulldoze and bully forwards without ever quite fouling them is genuinely remarkable. He's not going to set any records for pace - most likely, he'd struggle to catch up to your average pitch invader - but with his effortless calm, maturity and gift for correct anticipation, he's a worthy captain taking over from Radeka Lind.

17 - RB - Astrid Swain (Image Anomalies) - Age 25 - 35 caps, 1 goal
Tall and slender, Swain can look fragile, and her coast-town upbringing makes her seem relaxed in interviews. Don't let that fool you, though, Swain's got some of the most intense white-line fever of anyone in the squad. A fearless attacking fullback with a remarkable eye for a diagonal cross.

18 - CB - Sven Copperhead (Image Crisisbless) - Age 32 - 57 caps, 2 goals
An earnest bruiser, Copperhead's massive but deceptively fast. He loves defending, getting stuck in and smashing people; a little impetuous for international level, perhaps, but if you need a man to stick his head in front of a shot, he's there.

22 - CB - Tristan Sveinursson Brehmer (Image Istria City FC) - Age 22 - 5 caps
A big, bluff powerhouse, Brehmer's Graintfjaller heritage - how could you possibly tell! - shows every time he rises for a header. But he's not just a merciless mauler; he's fast on his feet, his awareness is top-notch, and it's his ability to play the ball reliably out of defence and effortlessly break pressure with a well-placed pass that set him apart as a top-class defender.

25 - LB - Jade Arconada (Image Brinemouth) - Age 24 - 8 caps
A short, sharp, darting fullback. Arconada's a second-generation immigrant from Sameba - which raised spectres of being poached by Eura like her club teammate Tess Miller - but has shown herself to be a resolute Nephar, with the classic, bombing runs they're known for. Spiky and outspoken, on and off the pitch.

Midfielders
4 - HM - Seona Gale (Image Mâ Âlâméómë) - Age 24 - 25 caps, 2 goals
After a string of merely excellent holding midfielders, Gale arrives and has spurred hopes that she might be The One. An effortless commander of her domain, Gale has pace, peerless passing range and a gift for dictating the tempo. And there can be no doubt, either, that she's hard enough; who else but a madman voluntarily moves to modern Farfadillis?

7 - RM - Tabithe Drake (Image AFC Treason) - Age 25 - 36 caps, 4 goals36 caps, 4 goals
A bold, thrilling winger, excelling at taking fullbacks on; she's revealed in interviews it feels like a personal challenge and "look, I just fucking hate defenders, right?" Has a peach of a right boot which can put a ball wherever she wills it, and seems in all things the natural evolution of an orthodox winger.

8 - CM - Petra Anhope (Image Herzegovina City FC) - Age 26 - 43 caps, 6 goals
Anhope backed herself to get first-team football abroad rather than wait patiently for a breakthrough at Treason; her career since has thoroughly vindicated that decision. Her rock-solid west Nepharan redoubtability has been supplemented by just a bit of flair in Farfadillis, turning her into a brilliantly well-rounded midfielder.

11 - LM - Arachne Loeher (Image Wirr Tsi) - Age 27 - 92 caps, 17 goals
Loeher's what's known in Nephara as an 'asphalt footballer'. Quick on her feet, but more nimble in the tight spaces than pacy on an open stretch of plain. She likes sending others to the cold, hard ground, but has got an inhuman reflex at skipping over challenges that would send her tumbling and skin her knees. Streetwise and creative, with an affinity for scoring screamers, she electrifies Nephara's attack.

13 - RM / AM - Madita Brewer (Image Bastion) - Age 27 - 97 caps, 24 goals
Brewer's origins are curious; she's from an off-the-grid community in the Laith, but fortunately was able to step out into the world of running water and wi-fi connections long enough for her brilliance to get noted and picked up by a club. Originally developed as a pure playmaker, Brewer's bright and coachable, picked up new positions eagerly, and can play across most midfield roles or up front. That versatility helps her no matter where she's positioned, and she can be dangerous from anywhere on the pitch.

15 - HM - Esther Caelin (Image Brinemouth) - Age 25 - 1 cap
A deft, classy holding midfielder, Caelin has always been a little too smooth for her own good, a little too much of the academy in her. She is the sanded-off product of youth development excellence, but can lack imagination and fight. But you forget all her deficiencies when you see her gliding with the ball, or cutting out attacks two, three passes in advance. A frictionless player, for good and ill.

16 - LM - Ceatrix Serval (Image Sabrefell Moths) - Age 22 - 9 caps, 1 goal
One of the most promising talents of her generation, Serval is a gliding, two-footed threat. She has a gift for opening low blocks, finding a way around and through layers of hostile defenders, with a thunderous shot with either foot. If you need a goal in the dying moments of a game, Serval will find it for you.

19 - HM - Cass Rothvogel (Image Sabrefell Moths) - Age 23 - 6 caps
Came through as a calm, well-rounded, classic academy player, an extremely-high rated prospect, but it took a while for her to apply it to performance at the top level. The secret? Intense amounts of white-line fever. Rothvogel now has the ability to ping passes wherever she wants, mixed with the vicious mongrel instinct befitting her Stahlburg roots. But she knows how to kick where it won't bruise; she's almost never booked, despite her constant regimen of momentum-breaking fouls.

24 - CM - Bellona Sebold (Image Crisisbless) - Age 27 - 69 caps, 12 goals
A clean-heeled technician with a silky touch. Everything Sebold does - passes, shots, tackles, even tactical fouls - is just tidy. Not the kind of figure who changes a game by chugging about butchering people, but rather a figure who excels at being the ultimate cog in a clicking machine. Of late, she's started to resemble a (raven-haired and somewhat curvier) Elaine Ashdown, and increasingly captured the national imagination.

26 - CM/AM - Catheline Fang (Image Sabrefell Moths) - Age 23 - 12 caps, 3 goals
Fang was seen as one to watch from an early age, with the NFA going out of their way to make her feel wanted (and stop her declaring for Yuezhou). Extremely quick with a tireless engine, Fang excels at close control in tight spaces, ghosting between the lines and infiltrating in a way that a more bustling box-to-box figure could not. Rest assured, though, despite her slight frame she has a vicious tackle on her. Wants the ball at her feet, wants to make things happen.

Forwards
9 - ST - Ravil Kulesza (Image Maethoru SC) - Age 25 - 49 caps, 18 goals
Tall, athletic, handsome and well-rounded, Kulesza is a proper number 9. Not a particularly swaggering personality, but that doesn't mean he's a shrinking violet on the pitch. He's capable enough with his back to goal, but in truth, Kulesza thrives on chaos, attacking the ball and stomping over any opponent in his way to get to it.

10 - ST - Lamia Tjaden (Image Ausharmuj Marusi) - Age 24 - 12 caps, 4 goals
Tjaden's a natural battler. She's fought her way up from the Nepharan lower leagues, and has found Farfadillis a natural environment to excel as a player, taking every... lifestyle challenge inherent to the nation in stride. She's not the most technical footballer, but her fearlessness and willingness to take on responsibility herself make her an invaluable asset.

14 - ST - Leandra Berenguer (Image Anomalies) - Age 26 - 21 caps, 8 goals
An incisive, sharp and intelligent forward of Astograthian extraction. A well-rounded centre-forward, she was content to leave Brinemouth for first-team football, and is content to leave the box to show for the ball. By no means the most dangerous goal threat out there, but she helps make everyone around her that bit more lethal, to say nothing of her frankly unnerving ability to press down defenders.

21 - ST - Felixe Vetiver (Image Spartangrad) - Age 26 - 97 caps, 63 goals
Vetiver is lightning-fast, entirely two-footed, ruthless in front of goal and absolutely fearless. She's got a fine first touch and links up play well, with intelligent, mature movement. She's stronger than she looks, though no powerhouse. Strong mentality, no serious issues off the pitch apart from a generally taciturn, cynical nature. And after scoring six goals in four World Cup games, at nineteen... it's safe to say Vetiver's a generational talent. Nepharim look at her and lick their lips, thinking of World Cups. Teenagers don't tend to break through in Nephara, getting eased into the team picture. Vetiver disagreed, and has reliably swept awards in the National League since her arrival at Cathair. Now, entering her prime years, she has a credible eye on Hawke's tally of 91 Cormorants goals and a credible claim on being the best player in the world, and she has just done what all the best Nepharan strikers seem destined to do; take her talents to Eura.

23 - ST - Leona Tsang (Image AFC Treason) - Age 21 - 1 cap, 1 goal
An injury to veteran striker Bravura Harper has left a spot open. Tsang, for now, will fill it. Her time will come, but not yet.

National Information

Full nation name: Empire of Amenria (亚洲帝国 Yàzhōu Dìguó, lit. Empire of Asia)
Short nation name: Amenria
Demonym: Amenrian/Asian (informal)
Capital: Mutiara (formerly known as Dalian)
Stadium: Mutiara Sports Centre Stadium
Currency: Cicis (1₡ = N$1.43)
Trigramme: AMN
Team nickname: Dragon's Team (龙之队 Lóng zhī duì)
Team colours: Black, white, gold

Football in Amenria and Team Overview

Football has long been a popular sport and pastime for people all over the empire, with history of the sport itself dating as far back as the Warring States Era, then known as Cuju (蹴鞠, lit. kick ball). It was played by both men and women of all ages, despite initially being used as an exercise for soldiers. Curiously, although it is massively popular, this is only the second tournament the national team has participated outside of its home universe, with the first being the Tea Cup, and the first world cup it has ever entered in.

All Amenrian public figures, from superheroes, to idols, to nobles and of course, athletes value one thing - spectacle. They want to put on a good show for their audience, and the Amenrian national football team is no exception. From something as simple as giving fans a finger or hand heart when celebrating a goal, to using martial art techniques when kicking a ball as a stunt. They always want to make sure the fans get an experience they can talk about for weeks with their colleagues or classmates, and for this fact, their playstyle is quite aggressive, with a style modifier of 3.

Starting Players

Number: 1
Name: Baek Chunghee
Position: Goalkeeper, Captain
Age: 30
Club: Busan IPark
Species: Human

With his signature stern expression and a tall and imposing figure at 185 cm, Chunghee's looks betray his calm, gentle, and kind personality. He hardly, if ever, shows any emotion and barely speaks during press conferences and is not much for theatricals, an uncommon trait among his peers. How he carries himself, his birthplace, as well as his shaved head has earned him the nickname of the Monk of Busan.

Number: 37
Name: Honda Yuichi
Position: Forward
Age: 21
Club: Avispa Fukuoka
Species: Human

The polar opposite of Chunghee. Yuichi is the poster boy for Amenrian football with how much he loves the spotlight. He's the most likely to do a risky shot instead of passing the ball to his open teammates, much to Sulaymon's chagrin. His confidence and attitude has basis, however, as at his age, he has scored more goals than the rest of the forwards in the national team.

Number: 6
Name: Jiang Jiahao
Position: Forward
Age: 23
Club: Beijing Guoan FC
Species: Human

Jiahao seems to be standing at the middle ground between Yuichi and Sho, being a fast and agile player like the former (albeit to a lesser extent) while maintaining a more grounded and serious state of mind than the latter. Excluding his speed, however, he is often seen as a jack of all trades, with the idea that he would become replaceable should he ever slow down living at the back of his mind.

Number: 17
Name: Feng Huizhong
Position: Forward
Age: 25
Club: Mutiara FC
Species: Human

Huizhong is another popular personality on the team, and while his position in the team is truly justified, his fans love him for his easygoing, comedic nature. Every press conference he attends always sees a clever pun or a well-placed joke by this man, and even his opponents find it hard not to see him as a personable and pleasant character.

Number: 3
Name: Nakajima Sho
Position: Forward
Age: 24
Club: Giravanz Kitakyushu
Species: Vampire

Sho is mostly known for his charm and visuals, never entering the pitch before he is sure his hair and makeup is absolutely perfect. While undoubtedly a skilled player, it's his appearance that draws many female fans into his home team's fandom and into the sport in general. In the field he is often seen smiling, either at his fans to make them go even crazier for him, or at his opponents as he playfully taunts them.

Number: 55
Name: Xiao Lingyun
Position: Midfielder
Age: 23
Club: Mutiara FC
Species: Human

A distant second on the team's top scorers, Lingyun is often characterized as a stern and mysterious person off-pitch as he is the one who talks least (tied with Chunghee, probably) and smiles the least. Even when celebrating a goal his expression remains constant, preferring to express his feelings with his body instead by raising a fist or doing similar gestures. Whether he is as dark and mysterious as he seems or he's simply shy is up in the air.

Number: 73
Name: Xu Fenhua
Position: Midfielder
Age: 25
Club: Mutiara FC
Species: Human

Even as a child, especially as a child, Fenhua was a ball of energy. He had so much energy, in fact, that he was a troublemaker in his youth. His grandparents considered sending him to military school to steer him away from his life of petty crime, but instead sent him to football school on advice of his school coach and after witnessing his talents firsthand.

Number: 81
Name: Son Minho
Position: Midfielder
Age: 23
Club: Mutiara FC
Species: Human

Minho does his best to separate his personal and professional life. On pitch, he is as boisterous as most of his peers, and even seems a bit cocky at times, but off pitch, he is very humble, polite, and courteous. While he isn't as fast as the team's forwards, he is perceptive and can often predict the next move of the player he sets his eyes on.

Number: 13
Name: Banjeet Jakhar1
Position: Midfielder
Age: 23
Club: Punjab FC
Species: Human

The happy virus of the team, Banjeet's smile is infectious. While not as comedically inclined as Huizhong, his kind and gentle personality makes him approachable and popular to fans and peers alike. This contrasts his aggressive playstyle which may lead one to ask why he isn't a forward.

Number: 5
Name: Sulaymon Ilhamov1
Position: Defender
Age: 32
Club: FC Bukhara
Species: Werewolf

Sulaymon is generally more quiet and analytical than most of his peers, although his reputation as a grumpy old man is not unfounded. He will always try to keep his cool, or grumble under his breath if he couldn't, but provoked enough, he can get himself in a screaming match, even against a referee. What he lacks in anger management he makes up for with his intellect.

Number: 12
Name: Rajeethan Jegaraj1
Position: Defender
Age: 25
Club: Chennaiyin FC
Species: Human

Rajeethan's story is a rags-to-riches tale. Orphaned at a young age, his first exposure to football was the street games he and his peers played near his orphanage. His talent was visible even as a teenager, so much that he took his school's team to the finals of a national tournament. He earned a high school scholarship thanks to this achievement, and upon graduation, Chennaiyin offered him a spot in their team.

Number: 42
Name: Pavel Vasiliev1
Position: Defender
Age: 27
Club: FC Zenit Irkutsk
Species: Human

Being in a universe where his team was never disbanded due to financing, Pavel used this timeline to his advantage, practicing hard even in the harsh Siberian winters. His smile shines as bright as his spirits, and he is known to be a boisterous, fun-loving giant of a man, which makes his name sound ironic.

FLAVOVESPIA

Image

National Stadia

Hornet's Nest
Location: Waldster
Club team: Waldster FC
Capacity: 75000
Opened: 0U
Open/Closed Roof: Covered seating, retractable roof

Image
The largest stadium in Flavovespia, based in the capital city of Waldster. Whilst it’s no longer as modern as it used to be, it’s still a fine facility for the national team and club side Waldster. Easily accessible, and with a retractable roof which helps on days with poor weather, it’s a venue than can, and has hosted some of the world’s best sides, and domestic finals.

Highland Road
Location: Hadford Hill
Club team: Hadford Hill FC
Capacity: 69518
Opened: 79BU
Open/Closed Roof: Open seating and field

Image
Flavovespia’s oldest stadium in continual use, Hadford Hill is well over a century old. Whilst renovations have been made over the years, the distinctive stands, open air atmosphere, and old school feel makes this a formidable venue. Success hasn’t been forthcoming recently for Hadford Hill FC, but Flavovespia have had happy days here. It is verboten to Hadford Hill fans to suggest a move elsewhere.

Saints Park
Location: St Astons City
Club team: St Astons City FC
Capacity: 60000
Opened: 30BU
Open/Closed Roof: Covered seating, open field

Image
A bit of a distance from central St Astons City, but well liked anyway, this stadium will celebrate its 75th anniversary next year. Home to plenty of good memories, particularly for St Astons City, it can create a good atmosphere on matchday. The ground also boosts great amenities and facilities, despite its age, ensuing a good matchday experience.

Kit

Image

Home-Away-Third

The second cycle for this set of kits. It’s a more retro look, with a big “double V” on the chest, and angular, blocky patterns on the sleeves, no fades or shadows here. This kit has already been to one World Cup, Flavovespia’s most successful to date, and thus is liked in the nation. As is tradition, black and yellow are reversed for the away kit, providing interchangeable elements. The third kit returns to the older tradition of an all white choice, dropping the trend of brightly coloured or Anaia coloured third kits.

Squad

Manager

Manager – Augusto Rinaldi Age: 64 [SVG/FVA]

Now into his 6th full cycle for Flavovespia, Augusto Rinaldi is a true legend of Flavovespia. The Savigliane born manager, now a dual national, he guided Flavovespia to the all 4 of their World Cup’s 2 CAFA Cup victories, and their current high status. Expectations on him are undoubtedly high, but it’s hard to see the job not being his until he chooses to retire. His direct play, and great squad and man management have received so many plaudits, and when he leaves, he’ll leave a huge hole in the dugout.

Goalkeepers

1 Nathan Crewe Age: 31 Position: GK Club: Marthorpe City FC Caps: 35 Goals: 0
12 Thomas Foley Age: 33 Position: GK Club: Bavingtor FC Caps: 5 Goals: 0
23 John Gildea Age: 27 Position: GK Club: Gilded City Dragons [COR] Caps: 0 Goals: 0

Nathan Crewe has stepped up, and now maybe a bit belatedly, is the Flavovespia #1 jersey wearer. Nearly 2 metres (6’6) tall, he’s great in the air, and great in terms of distribution, he can start counter attacks and has a few assists to his name. Maybe not the most agile or best pure shot-stopper, but strong enough at this level. Thomas Foley, the second choice is the opposite, a brilliant shot stopper, and a good choice for penalty shootouts, but has never quite had that great distribution or command of his area. He’s also a bit short tempered. After Aarif Muhammad effectively retired at the end of CAFA Cup 7, John Gildea comes in as third choice. A move to Gilded City Dragons raised his profile, although there’s a bit of a sense he’s a fair step down from Crewe and Foley for now. A balanced goalkeeper, but one who doesn’t particularly excel anywhere.

Defenders

2 Stan Scott-Wilson Age: 23 Position: LB Club: Marthorpe City FC Caps: 33 Goals: 0
3 Andrew Dance Age: 31 Position: RB Club: Loxthorpe Rovers FC Caps: 151 Goals: 2
4 Stuart Cookson Age: 33 Position: CB Club: Marthorpe City FC Caps: 181 Goals: 2
5 Paul Taylor Age: 28 Position: CB Club: Casuals Osteria [KRY] Caps: 103 Goals: 1
13 David Lyons Age: 34 Position: LB Club: Maethoru SC [KOR] Caps: 230 Goals: 4
14 Nazir Hussain Age: 27 Position: CB Club: Loxthorpe Rovers FC Caps: 25 Goals: 0
15 Malcolm Beresford Age: 30 Position: CB Club: Bavingtor FC Caps: 26 Goals: 0
16 Scott Gillespie Age: 27 Position: RB Club: Syneca AC [SRS] Caps: 11 Goals: 0
24 Paul Amos Age: 26 Position: CB Club: Kingsbury United [TMB] Caps: 0 Goals: 0

Even with the reduced group stage, 9 defenders still make the selection. A clear change sees Stan Scott-Wilson take the #2, with captain David Lyons now #13. Stan Scott-Wilson is an unusual player in many regards. Officially a left back, he can also play right back well. He’s tall yet pacey, seems to be able to advance down field without leaving the defence too exposed, and is surprisingly posh for a footballer. Stuart Cookson, a real position and aerial maestro leads the centre backs again, with another tall and strong defender Paul Taylor likely to start next to him. On the right, Andrew Dance has the starting role. A fierce tackler and always hustling wingers, his on pitch play doesn’t match his smiley, jolly off field attitude. Bench wise, David Lyons may be in his final set of Qualifiers, but the captain will give it his all, an inspiring leader who can also get stuck in with some tough challenges. Nazir Hussain won’t win prizes for any sort of skill on the ball at this level, but his strong, stocky build enables him to battle against even the biggest centre forwards. Malcolm Beresford is a so-so performer at this level, but can on a good day be a real rock in the defence. Scott Gillespie is another full back from the school of defence first, tall and strong defenders, don’t expect him to make runs down field, often a useful choice if a lead needs defending. A debutant at centre back sees Paul Amos come in. A bit smaller than Cookson and Taylor, he’s good defending on the ground and against quicker players, but there’ll always be a mystery as to how debutants find international cricket.

Midfielders

6 Jonathan Goldstone Age: 32 Position: CM Club: Bavingtor FC Caps: 106 Goals: 2
7 Kieron Player Age: 33 Position: CDM Club: Coret Hawks [NPH] Caps: 231 Goals: 20
8 Charles Adams Age: 24 Position: CDM Club: Maethoru SC [KOR] Caps: 31 Goals: 3
11 Jonathan Bagshaw Age: 27 Position: RAM Club: Sabrefell Moths [NPH] Caps: 164 Goals: 86
17 Martin Edwards Age: 29 Position: CDM Club: Langmere Green Rovers FC Caps: 34 Goals: 2
18 Anthony Lane Age: 24 Position: LAM Club: Loxthorpe Rovers FC Caps: 15 Goals: 4
19 Amrik Singh Age: 28 Position: RAM Club: Binclestead Wood FC Caps: 33 Goals: 6
20 David Wassell Age: 31 Position: CDM Club: Yerushalayim [ADB] Caps: 111 Goals: 1
25 Christopher Hill Age: 21 Position: CM Club: Marthorpe City FC Caps: 5 Goals: 1

The 9 midfielders selected combine some of the best names of Flavovespia with some good up and coming stars. The name here that’s most famous is that of the right wide forward in this setup, Jonathan Bagshaw. 164 caps, 86 goals, a move to Sabrefell Moths of £250m ($25m NSD), he is arguably Flavovespia’s first true world-class global star. Anytime he gets free down the wing, he can create a goal or an assist. He’s also been asked to take on the captaincy, should David Lyons not be playing. In the heart of midfield, there’s a good combination of players. Kieron Player is the standout name, now 33, he won’t have many more cycles yet, but as a player who’s less reliant on physical skills, he’s still a major threat. The quiet, stoic midfielder, few for Flavovespia can make passes or take set pieces as well as him. Jonathan Goldstone is quite a large midfielder, but he can also get the ball moving well with passes, and has good positioning. Charles Adams moves to number #8, a fairly slim and small midfielder, he has an eye for a good pass, dribbles the ball nicely, but also isn’t afraid to try and make the tackles. Bench wise, there’s a fair number of choices. Martin Edwards is a ball winning central defensive midfielder, absolutely not afraid to get stuck in, and can be a feisty character. Anthony Lane is a very quick left attacking midfielder, who’ll take on any defenders with pace, but still has room to improve his decision making. Amrik Singh would have more caps if not for Bagshaw, he can produce some great crosses and shots with curl and dip on them, and can get game time playing in the centre or left. David Wassell is an experienced option, a strong midfielder who’ll chase down and harry the opposition midfielders, and rarely has problems on games away from home. Christopher Hill has very high potential, with his ability to pick out passes and also make good challenges, he just needs time to work on the secondary skills like focus, concentration and wider vision.

Forwards

9 Michael Cole Age: 33 Position: CF Club: North Hall [BRE] Caps: 209 Goals: 119
10 Richard Birmingham Age: 25 Position: CF Club: Ousevale Borough [KRY] Caps: 34 Goals: 8
21 Adrian Jones Age: 34 Position: CF Club: 1830 Cathair [AUD] Caps: 120 Goals: 65
22 Peter Langdon Age: 20 Position: CF Club: Loxthorpe Rovers FC Caps: 9 Goals: 1
26 Charles Shepherd Age: 20 Position: CF Club: Marthorpe City FC Caps: 6 Goals: 2

Five forwards are in this squad, with experience joined by youth. Michael Cole comes in needing 14 goals to match the record of Scott Coleman, he certainly has that in his pocket. Once a pacey option at left wing, and he still plays there, at 33 he’s becoming more of an option as centre forward. Nevertheless, his powerful shots are a threat anywhere. He’s the son of Nick Cole, first Flavovespia national team manager, and like father like son, a bit brash and abrasive. Richard Birmingham is the new #10. A tall, strong centre forward, with a powerful shot, he can be a looming physical presence in attack. However, he needs to deliver else depth below him will get a chance. Adrian Jones at 34 is very likely in his last set of Qualifiers, a strong aerial threat, he can still find the net if given too much time, and is useful to have in the dressing room. Charles Shepherd is one for the future, and has already impressed last cycle. Whilst not the strongest in terms of shooting, his hold up play can well bring others into position, something not that many younger players can do that well. Peter Langdon is a pacey, quick dribbling forward, who will take on the shot if he opens up the space. Decision wise, maybe he backs himself too much, but he’s already shown glimpses of being spectacular at this level, and is maybe an option on the wings.

Tactics

4-3-3 remains the default for Flavovespia. Direct, counter-attacking football is their style, even as they rise up the rankings. The back four typically play deep, allowing the opposition to play in front of them but limiting space in behind. The full backs occurrence forward, but only if a midfielder drops back. The midfield trio typically contains a deep lying ball winning midfielder, the most physical of the three. There’s a playmaker, who’ll look to spread the ball around, and then a roaming midfielder, who’ll push forward to link with the attack. Of the front three, the centre forward typically plays a “false nine”, with the option to drop a bit deeper. That can allow the two wide forwards to cut inside to try and score. If they stay wide, they’ll try and create assists.

SQUAD
[Starters are in bold]

GOALKEEPERS

GK-Lance Logan (Image 1830 Cathair) - Age 25
Lance Logan needs no introduction. Undoubtedly the star player of the team and the only Brook to have been nominated for the Testiculos till now, Logan keeps improving with every season in 1830 Cathair. Logan is renowned for his quick reflexes and calmness at the goal, which has made him quite the sensation in Brookstation by now.

GK-Joel Latibeaudiere (Image Capital FC) - Age 32
Once the starting choice for the national team, Latibeaudiere has lost himself in the shadow of Logan, but still possesses the skills and potential which are good enough to make him the second choice goalkeeper of the team.

GK-Terrell Graves (Image Space Coast Rockets) - Age 27
Called up for primarily for his performances in the Brook Football League, Graves will remain mostly as a third choice option for the team. Graves is still a young player and with quite some time still in hand, Graves might help himself up the ranks.

DEFENDERS

CB-Nate Harlow (Image Dreamland City) - Age 35
Harlow has always been the guiding light when it comes to the Brook defensive. Undoubtedly one of the best defenders to have ever played for the team and a natural leader, Harlow plays a very crucial role in the club, combining his quick dribbling skills with his strength, making him one of the most influential players in Brookstation.

LB-Geovani Angeles (Image Alnio) - Age 26
A young defender who recently made a transfer to Chromatikan side Alnio, making him the most expensive Brook transfer of all time. He has been a very important part of his club Alnio's defense and has a bright future ahead of him. He is looking forward to defend for his national side to the best of his abilities.

CB-Rod Dick Jacobus (Image Haligonian) - Age 21
Jacobus is not your typical, stout defender. Rather, he is a concentrated player with a very clear understanding of the game. His intelligence, composure and the ability to read his opponent's next move makes him so celebrated in the country despite his young age.

RB-Travor Scott (Image Halebid Warriors) - Age 36
One of Harlow's best associated and partner in crime, Scott used to be termed as one of Brookstation's best defenders, that was until he was faced with charges of sexual assault which saw him receive a two year ban. But now that he has faced the consequences of his action, he is back, as a changed figure, a figure who is ready to deliver for the national side once again.

CB-Mark Jamieson (Image Space Coast Rockets) - Age 27
Mark was a talented and young prodigy who has been one of the key players of the Brook junior teams. Mark has received a recent callup from the national team following his performance in the TPL and the recently formed BFL. With his callup to the national side, he is expected to live up to his expectations.

LB-Jayden Alonso (Image Syneca) - Age 28
Alonso is a complete, dominant and eloquent central defender with physical power and immense strengh suited perfectly to put him in the defensive position. He might not be the fastest player one is looking for but his coordination and agility combined with his fit stature suit

CB-Lawrence Butler (Image FC Conton) - Age 26
Honestly speaking, Butler has always been an aggressive player, not shying away from the dirty work on the field. Surely, this has put him in trouble in the past but he doesn't seem to care.

RB- Rasihawn Donaldson (Image AC Dason) - Age 33
Hailing from a poor background, Donaldson had pretty much the knowledge of the harsh realities of the world at length. Football made him see the dreams of breaking free from his poor condition. His journey continued and now he sees himself in the national team, He is a very determined player on the field. His clearances are what he is majorly known for in Brookstation. He has regained his national team status after leading Dason to the champions spot.

MIDFIELDERS

CAM--Tavian Tudorache (Image Pyathora Mariners FC) - Age 28
Experienced, aggressive and arogant midfielder, played over 50 games with Other side of Paradise. With his recent call up to the Tikariot side Vantanoch FC, he has delivered whenever he received play time.

CM-Laron Veum (Image Lublova Reds) - Age 33
Laron Veum is a promising young midfielder who plays for Squornshelan side Lublova Reds. He has spent most of his prime career in Squornshelan Remnant States. Veum tends to come deeper and get open inside the hole between the opposition lines. which has helped his team to get goals.

CAM-Rosario Riccobono (Image Advance Alara) - Age 22
Having just passed his teenage years, Riccobono has gained quite a lot of fame in the domestic level although he awaits his national team debut, which will most likely come during next year's World Cup. Riccobono is a swift dribbler, renowned mostly for his speed and creativity while crafting attacks on the field. Most likely to become Brookstation’s next sensation.

CM-Jean Pierre Polnareff (Image Other side of Paradise) - Age 33
Instrumental in both of Brookstation’s historic wins against Nephara and Banija, the 6'2 midfielder has established himself as one of the most prominent midfielders in Brookstation. Shortly behind captain Robes, Polnareff holds the second most international caps for Brookstation. An all rounder in the midfield, he is Brookstation’s main free kick taker.

LM/RM-Louis Vassel (Image Aspel) - Age 31
An orthodox, impressively fast midfielder who always has his eye on the goal and will do anything to find the right chance to shot. He maybe termed a bit greedy but as long as he stays in sync with his teammates, he will assist.

CM- Steve Dolphin (Image AFC Richmond) - Age 32
Dolphin is an elegant player with a very impressive technique with the ball, short dribbling and a well controlled tempo on the field. All these qualities makes him quite a versatile midfielder.

FORWARDS

CF-Leon Michael Robes (c) (Image Cednia Beach AFC) - Age 35
If you are a Brook, you don't ask who Leon Michael Robes is. In short, he is the top goalscorer, most capped and most importantly the captain on the current Brook side. Often termed the best Brook footballer ever, Robes needs no more introduction. An extremely versatile and talented striker, Robes always has his senses ready for the task. Some suggest that Robes' age is beginning to reveal itself but Robes still remains the head of all operations on the field.

LW-John J Johnson (Image Space Coast Rockets) - Age 31
Currently the best player in Brookstation, John Johnson is on his way to overtake Robes as Brookstation’s top scorer. Johnson is a lethal finisher as well as an excellent assister. With his eyes always at the goal, Johnson is always on his toes to grab opportunities to strike.

RW-Moussa Wague (Image Clyde Park) - Age 27
Undoubtedly, one of the best strikers of Brookstation at the moment. Wague has been the top scorer of his club for this season despite of his young age. Following the farewell of Cust from the team, Wague has become one of the starters for the team. Wague posseses the ability to plan out attacks and with the help of his speed, strength and dribbling skills makes his way towards the goal. Wague has been overshadowed by the likes of Robes and Johnson but whenever he gets a chance to make it to the goal, he is ready to prove his mettle. Wague is a fierce, hard working striker who is always on the look for chances and thus is a great addition to the front line of the national team.

LW-Jimmy Robinson (Image Sanar) - Age 26
Robinson is yet another player, who has been instrumental in his club's performance. Denver might not be the best club out there but despite of playing for a struggling team, Robinson managed to display his skills on the field, ending up as one of the top scorers of the season. Robinson is one of the best emerging players in Brookstation and following his recent move to Chromatik side Sanar, expectations are high from the youngster.

SS/RW-Roy-Allan Butterfield (Image Anchors FC) - Age 23
Butterfield is a tall player with a fit stature who plays mostly as a shadow striker. He is an offensive all rounder who can adapt to a variety of positions up front such as winger, attacking midfielder, support striker, and centre forward. A young talent, Butterfield has become one of the top scorers of the domestic league.

CF-Ga Yong Lee (Image Halebid United) - Age 33
Lee is an advanced playmaker, able to play in both the wings as well as any playmaking position. Lee is a creative player with a pretty stabilised technique with the ball, great acceleration skills and a good passing ability.

Postby Beefsteak City » Sun Nov 12, 2023 12:40 pm

NationState’s latest up-and-coming dystopia is the humble metropolis of Beefsteak City. The tiny, four-city-block-square nation is a haven for industry and commerce, but not much else (read: residents). Its most famous attraction feature is a shopping center that runs the entire width of the city (all four blocks of it).

Beefsteak City is so full of factories and stores that until just recently, it had a population of just one (1): Mayor, CEO, and President, Tom Ato. Realizing that the nation would need at least eleven inhabitants to compete in the Baptism of Fire, Mayor Ato appointed City Clerk Assistant Jerome Salisbury to organize the sporting effort—and made it clear his job was on the line.

Salisbury rounded up his squad from among Beefsteak City’s employees and executives, and is forcing them all to live in the city’s only other house for the duration of the tournament in order for them to qualify as Beefsteak City nationals and fulfill WCC regulations. Below is the roster he put together.

GK - Jack Price - 56yo - CIO, Hawkeye Systems - Price makes a living on keeping information secure from hostile militaries, and now he’ll try to keep his net secure from hostile strikers.

LB - Blaine Maddox - 54yo - CEO, Maddox Holdings - Maddox' keen eye for investment means he always knows when to strike. Unfortunately he times his tackles less precisely.

CB - Nancy Dykes - 46yo - Senior Vice President of Marketing, Darkwebs - Dykes, a former secret operative of unspecified origin, can hang with the boys both in the boardroom and at the tavern after work, although her skills on the ball are lacking.

Also LB - Michael Maddox - 22yo - Vice President of Finance, Maddox Holdings - Mikey's always been a nepo baby, both at his daddy's company, and on the soccer field.

LM - Rick Porterhouse - 46yo - COO, Ribeye Group - Porterhouse has strong opinions on how things should operate. That’s his job–just not on the soccer field. But someone forgot to tell him.

CM - Darren Buffitt - 93yo - CEO, Burkshire Hasaway - Buffitt's long career history of offering sage hedge fund management advice has earned him the respect of investors... and a spot on the team.

CM - Chuck T. Bone - 45yo - Vice President of Operations, Ribeye Group - Organizational dynamics at Ribeye Group have always been murky, and the overlap between Bone’s role there and his teammate Porterhouse’s has always caused confusion. Unfortunately they don’t see eye-to-eye and their acrimonious arguments have carried over into the locker room.

RM - John Collier - right wing - 24yo - Vertical 5 Axis Mill Operator, Stanley-Taylor Steel - Collier works 6 10-hour shifts a week making turbines for axial compressors. He doesn't really have the vacation time to make it to practice for the soccer team, but he is still the best player.

LW - Curt Fargo - 38yo - Partner, Adams Schwab & Melzer LLP - Fargo picked up the sport again by coaching his kids in the suburban youth soccer league, and now that he can get his lowly associates to do his dirty work, he may have the time to hit his peak.

ST - Emily Pierce - 17yo - Customer Service Associate, GoGo FroYo - Emily's just working part time at the frozen yogurt shop to make it through high school, but when her boss found out she was on the varsity team she got roped into this whole thing.

RW - Aaliyah Jones - 41yo - CFO, Byrd Manufacturing - Nothing has gotten in the way of Jones’ very successful career, until now: Byrd Manufacturing's CEO has mandated an executive training program for the leadership team, which required at least one of the execs to join a “regular sports opportunity” for “work-life balance.”

From its establishment the team is always comprises of all men players. It is governed by Pemecutan Football Association, the governing body of football in Pemecutan. It has never win any major international competition.

The team compete for the first time internationally at 3rd Melayu Archipelago Cup which was held in Eraman. They ended up finished 4th, defeated by Ziwana in third place final. Their participation in World Cup Cycle started at Baptism of Fire 76 where they ended in the Group Stage. In the 89th World Cup, the team manage to qualified for the first time where they were ended in Round of 16 after being defeated by Squidroidia. Their best performance was during WC 90th where they reached final for the first time in the teams history. They were defeated by The Holy Empire in the final. The latest WC 93 saw their worst World Cup proper performance when the team end their campaign in the group stage. However, the win against The Holy Empire in the third group stage match save the humiliation felt by the fans. The win was felt as a revenge after the defeat at the 90th World Cup final.

In regional level, the team have manage to reached Semifinal in 9 consecutive Mandalanusa Cup (formerly Melayu Archipelago Cup). From that, their best performance was during the 6th, 7th and the latest 11th edition where they manage to finished as runner-up, defeated by Sharktail, Southern Palm Islands and Tecoia respectively. Their often surprised defeats from lower ranked or newcomer nations in the region makes them being dubbed with Pemecutan Cursed. The latest defeat against Tecoia was so upsetting that the supporters rioting in the host's stadium. This incident makes Pemecutanian supporters are banned from CMFA sanctioned events. In the latest 12th edition, Pemecutan had their worst result in the their participation history. They were defeated by the comeback team of Soracana Islands in quarterfinal. The result leads to a riot in Pemecutan big cities such as Ubung, Mengwi, Jematang and the capital, Pemecutan Puri. After the fallout in the 12th edition, the team comeback greatly by winning the Mandalanusa Cup in 2 consecutive editions, 13th and 14th. They equalize the record held by Ziwana who won 2 consecutive titles in 4th and 5th editions.

West Barack and East Obama National Football Team

A Brief History of Obaman Football

Football as a sport is prohibited in West Barack and East Obama, along with other team sports such as cricket, rugby and paintball. This is because the prevalence team sports has a strong correlation to organised crime, violence and political dissidents, so all attempts at forming groups are prohibited. However, West Barack and East Obama has established an official national football team to help promote Obaman values on the international stage.

The West Barack and East Obama National Football Team will participate in its third ever World Cup Qualification rounds, after qualifying for the Cup of Harmony last time. In spite of a dismal Independents Cup, the Obamen will be hoping to make their mark on the World Cup once again.

The Coaching Team

Head Coach: Buck Obamafinakis
Assistant Coach: Tuck Obamafinakis
Goalkeeping Coach: Chuck Obamafinakis

The Obamafinakis brothers are legendary throughout Southeast Obama. Known for their law firm 'Obamafinakis, Obamafinakis & Obamafinakis', these triplets are known for their expert litigation skills and have reduced countless death penalty sentences to paltry life imprisonment with hard labour and without parole sentences. Now, they're putting their persuasive skills and tactical knowledge to the real test by continuing their role as the coaching staff of the West Barack and East Obama national team for the World Cup. Rumours that they were forced to take the job so that the government can distract them away from practicing law to better suppress dissidents are still false.

The Players

The players of the football team have been selected based on a variety of factors. The team that has been selected is the one that will maximise winning in competitions whilst minimising the possibility of bonds and teamwork being formed.

Goalkeeper: Dwayne Obama, 37

Captain Dwayne Obama is a fighter pilot for the Glorious Obama Air Forces. Known as 'Dwayne, Destroyer of Planes', Obama has taken down more enemy aircraft and blown up more secessionist state hospitals than can be counted. His reflexes and quick thinking helps him to get out of sticky situations, and his incredible muscles from intensive training means he can stop a powerful ball with just his pinky. The perfect goalkeeper candidate.

Left Centre Back: Trent Vobama, 38 (Captain)

Trent Vobama is the venerable captain of the team. His performance in the ODI World Trophy led to his call up for the football team, with many applauding his leadership and wondering if this old dog has some tricks up his sleeve. A very respectable figure, Trent's experience as a PE teacher will help him command the team to a victory.

Centre Back: Barack Denovitz, 30

A feared mob enforcer in downtown New Barack City, the Obamafinakis brothers convinced the Obaman courts to let Denovitz out for the competition, and if he succeeds could earn 10 years off his 150 year sentence (with hard labour). The definition of a hard man, he doesn't tackle, he just scares them away. Suspended on his international debut and he'd do it all over again.

Right Centre Back: Bark Obamallama, 32

Door-to-door llama salesman Bark Obamallama has really thick skin. You'll need it to if your day was spent dodging llama spit and verbal abuse from disinterested buyers. Described as being devoid of any emotions, Obamallama will have no second thoughts about ending that opponent's career with a devastating (but legal) slide tackle.

Left Wide Midfielder: Jenny Barracki, 28

Being a professional sprinter, Jenny Barracki is the fastest woman alive. In West Barack and East Obama. She can outrun most of her opponents down the wing, delivering crosses to waiting strikers. Also, she's great at fielding in cricket. Is there anything this woman can't do?

Left Central Midfielder: Harvey Chobamya, 29

Harvey Chobamya is not your average gym bro. He spends all of his days and nights on the treadmill at Anytime Obama in New Barack City, as well as doing all of the leg and feet exercises. The strongest lower body in the whole of the nation, he can send balls out of the stadium with just a slight tap. Leg day skips this guy.

Central Midfielder: Wolfgang Obamadeus-Mozart, 25

Better known by his pseudonym "DJ Momo" of the rap duo "Momo and the Obamasaurus", Obamadeus-Mozart has very unpredictable movement patterns to match his crazy beats. He can bamboozle, flabbergast and dumbfound any of his opponents to get the ball from one end of the pitch to the other. Finally reinstated into the team following his suspension and subsequent disappearance from the public eye, here's to hoping all that time was spent on honing his skills to boss midfields!

Right Central Midfielder: Charles Obama, 28

Royal Butler to The One and Only Barack Horatio Obama, Charles Obama is also a very skilled footballer. A holding midfielder, there's no room for nonsense when this guy's on the pitch. His commanding presence and knack for providing service to his fellow players will come into handy.

Right Wide Midfielder: Brett Pogama, 30

Brett Pogama has a lot of sports experience, participating in one of the most popular sports in the country (since team sports were banned) in greyhound racing. He plays the role of the rabbit, where he has to run as fast as he can to escape a pack of vicious greyhounds. Most of the time he gets out with only a flesh wound or two, showcasing his excellence for evading opponents to bring a ball into the box.

Left Centre Forward: Lily Chobamya, 20

Sister to Harvey Chobamya, Lily is good at free kicks and penalties. Inbetween her courses at Frederick Obamatown National Health University, she practices her set pieces, which aren't technically illegal as there's only one player playing. She can't do much else, but if you foul someone, say bye bye to your fragile lead.

Right Centre Forward: Fred Olibama, 31

Fred Olibama is one powerful forward. He is a cobbler by day, but in his spare time makes some of the best sports shoes known to man. Being both the striker and the kit guy for the team, his experience in bring in the shoes of a footballer will definitely be a big help to the team.

Things you should know about the SRS:

Once upon a time, there was the Imperium of Squornshelous, a militaristic, totalitarian state which took great pride in its football team. Squornshelous entered every World Cup from the 5th edition to the 41st, successfully qualifying all but once, and winning the 31st edition of the tournament. After World Cup 41, however, a civil war erupted which ended with the nation divided in to the democratic Confederacy of Squornshelan Remnant States, and the shrunken but still dangerous Imperium holding onto its island heartland. Both nations disappeared from the international stage for the next 40 World Cup Cycles. The SRS returned to international football for Cycle 81, and was joined by the Imperium during Cycle 84. During Cycle 88, another revolt in the Imperium destabilized the government so much that the nation essentially collapsed, and its constituencies applied for membership in the Confederacy. It was also around this time that Squornshelous/SRS arrived in Atlantian Oceania, having previously competed as an Independent.

While the football team has a rich history from the old days, new successes have only come fairly recently. The team has qualified for five straight World Cups, but has only advanced past the Group Stage twice in the modern era, and has yet to win a knockout match since returning. They did finally claim a piece of international silverware at the 69th AOCAF Cup (nice), but have thus far failed to follow up that success. The Black-and-Reds qualified, but failed to earn a point in the first round of World Cup 94, and exited AOCAF Cup 70 at the quarterfinal stage. Understandably, this has led to a fair bit of soul searching, acrimony, harsh language, debilitating hangovers, and other such unwanted consequences. The conclusion reached after the past cycle is that the window for most of the core of players who won the AOCAF title and made the second round at World Cup 93 is closed. Penrooke, who has kept his job by the skin of his teeth over the past year and has grown increasingly contentious at his pressers, has spoken lately of his intention to bring in the new generation, to mmove beyond recent shortcomings and drive forward.

Yeah, sounds great Gareth, now I guess we all find out if there's any substance behind that, or the if the team is headed for another swoon out of relevance like they suffered ten or so cycles ago.

Trigram: SRS
Manager: Gareth Penrooke Image
Formation: 4-2-3-1
Captain: Blasko Titov
Vice Captain: Ffraid Norling
Long Form Name: The Confederacy of Squornshelan Remnant States
Short Form Names: Squornshelan Confederacy, The Confederacy, Squornshelous, the SRS
Demonyms: Confederate (political); Squornshelan (cultural, not always PC)
Ethnicites in the Confederacy include Squornshelan, Molvanian, Brantid, Algolian, Sivolvian, and Han. If you are curious about a particular player's ethnicity you can send me a TG or message me on discord
Team Nickname: Black-and-Reds (never Red-and-Blacks)
Team Colors: Confederate Red (#EE0000) and Black (#000000)
Goalkeepers:
# Player Age Pro. Club
31 Radoslav Blaha 27 He/Him Image Aries Chariots
1 Paiva Shimski 34 She/Her Image AFC Treason
13 Nurul Heiskanen 34 He/Him Image Port Rhovanyon AFC
41 Shreya Krusan 29 She/Her Image Perce Town
44 Petyr Sotelo 26 He/Him Image Chalesm FC
Goalkeeper is definitely a position of great strength for the Black-and-Reds. Shimski is a past Golden Glove winner in the Zenith, and Blaha a current one, both having proved their mettle in one of the multiverse's best leagues. Likewise, Heiskanen has claimed both individual and team honors in Tikariot, and Krusan in Quebec. All are canny veteran keepers by this point in their careers with little to separate them in terms of class. Sotelo is less decorated but still an excellent if somewhat less experienced option, having been carefully shepherded along by Chalesm behind two former first choice Black-and-Reds keepers themselves in Anthonsson and Kartal before being handed the starting job.

Right Backs:
# Player Age Pro. Club
28 Ffraid Norling 27 She/Her Image Chalesm FC
3 Goron Sauber 28 He/Him Image Ridgewell Rovers
7 Sarika Boesch 29 She/Her Image Jaglan Royals
2 Aaro Musta 29 He/Him Image Avidë
A tightly contested position for the Black-and-Reds with players who are, if not necessarily world-beaters, solid and dependable. Norling is the most well-rounded and comfortable going forward of the four, and so gets the nod more often than not. Sauber and Musta are both more stay at home players, albeit very good defenders. Boesch is a newcomer to the national team, uncapped at 29 but coming off an excellent domestic season, though its uncertain how well she'll adjust to the tactical differences between Penrooke's setup and Schmelling's back three at Jaglan.

Left Backs:
# Player Age Pro. Club
32 Piia Drenel 24 She/Her Image Algolia AC
20 Vasilii Nyberg 34 He/Him Image Sabrefell Moths
16 Vaihere Kamgang 23 She/Her Image Chalesm FC
33 Tonje Bakken 33 She/Her Image Vogsphere United
For a long, long time this position was owned by Nyberg, but with his speed fading, he doesn't have the same ability to make blazing runs up the wing and still backtrack to mark his man on counters. Drenel has featured in reserve for a few cycles now and seems the heir apparent, but will face challenges from others of her generation, namely Kamgang, who had an excellent debut season in Chalesm's first team. In contract to the others, Bakken has rarely been a player to range very far forward.

Center Backs:
# Player Age Pro. Club
24 Hamida Van 24 She/Her Image Algolia AC
23 Blasko Titov 32 He/Him Image Pesfield Trees
5 Valtteri Tirel 23 He/Him Image AFC Treason
42 Surya Jagdish 29 She/Her Image Brattleboro FC
29 Malai Yarlut 33 She/Her Image Goodfeather FC
25 Radko Ludviczak 21 He/Him Image Athletique Alexandrie
If the extent to which Megabrantid seemed to miss him is any indication, Titov has still got it. A complete center half with all the size and smarts you'd expect, still keeping it oging on the wrong side of 30. Jagdish and Yarlut join him as part of the older generation still sticking around, but the future is also evident here, with Van playing a big role in Algolia's bounce back season and silencing a lot of doubters. Tirel and Ludviczak are exciting prospects and have each done well for their clubs, but are still largely untested on the international stage.

Midfielders:
# Player Age Pro. Club
19 Sevet-Ibilx Kai 26 They/Them Image Brantisvogan FC
66 Ukko Saigir 25 He/Him Image Haligonian
9 Embla Avachinsky 26 She/Her Image Lhor
6 Nur Amjol 23 He/Him Image Sivolvia Capitalizt
8 Mithya Hashemi 35 She/Her Image Anomalies
26 Maram Tatsinan 21 She/Her Image Lakewood United
37 Tyra Volam 33 She/Her Image Sporting Jaglan
46 Siri Byqvist 30 She/Her Image FC Santraginus
22 Saraid Bernat 30 She/Her Image Korsbach
Nowhere is the sense of a changing of the guard more evident on this team than in midfield. Zazagan is out, Volam, Hashemi, and Byqvist project to start on the bench, and multiple new faces have appeared to take their places. Kai and Saigir are both well-rounded players capable of the vast number of roles required of a center midfielder. Avachinsky is an attacker, and has taken full advantage lately of the chance to improve herself against top-level competition in the Red League. Amjol, perhaps the most overlooked member of Siv Cap's juggernaut of a midfield, quietly plays a holding role, effectively winning the ball and feeding it to the playmakers. As for the bench players, what's to be said? Hashemi will go down as one of the best and most complete midfielders to play for the SRS. Volam's speed is mostly gone but her eye for passes and nose for the net are as good as ever. Tatsinan is a box-to-box player with a big future ahead after her high-profile move to Tumbra. Byqvist is another attacker, and Bernat more a holding player.

Right Wings:
# Player Age Pro. Club
55 Tiiu Aaltonen 27 She/Her Image Club ESF
70 Arttu Ditou 32 He/Him Image Anomalies
35 Rustik Koshelev 29 He/Him Image Avondale City
30 Vyacheslav Maksimov 33 He/Him Image Algolia AC
The end of an era out right as well, with Ikra Yonte likely having played her last match for the Black-and-Reds after over a decade of excellence. Aaltonen, who quietly built her resume at Sporting, now gets her chance in the spotlight. There will likely be a fair amount of rotation at this wing though, as no one player has had the kind of dominant club performance to make themselves a clear choice. Ditou, Maksimov, and Koshelev have all been good, but not to the point that they look able to maintain excellence over the long haul of qualifying.

Left Wings:
# Player Age Pro. Club
15 Tarbi Ksudach 22 He/Him Image Brantisvogan FC
40 Thorgnyr Bondarov 32 He/Him Image Chocolateria
27 Oystein Shakhnovich 24 He/Him Image Sivolvia Capitalizt
98 Aodaghan Stern 27 He/Him Image Mâ Álâmëómë
Ksudach and Shakhnovich have been rising stars in the Superleague for a few years now, and will once again be big features for the national team. Bondarov, after taking the AOCAF Cup off, returns looking to perhaps climb another spot or two on the SRS all-time goalscorers table. Stern, though sometimes overshadowed by the absurd degree of talent on his club's roster, is still and excellent player, and certainly not to be overlooked either.

Forwards:
# Player Age Pro. Club
10 Rasha Sargsa 27 She/Her Image Sivolvia Capitalizt
18 Snorre Fridtjofs 32 He/Him Image Carathyr Emeralds FC
14 Andze Nedeljkovic 32 He/Him Image Frenei Tor
11 Ottilia Hjort 28 She/Her Image Dynamo Sjoedrhavn
17 Caitrin Ness 35 She/Her Image Montreal City
21 Hermann Eld 26 He/Him Image Chalesm FC
39 Feofilat Dubynin 21 He/Him Image Yassaca
On the strength of a championship run and goalscoring title in the Superleague, Sargsa is the presumptive starter, having definitively proven her ability to work as a lone striker after some doubts early in her career. Behind her, Fridtjofs had a resurgent performance in the TPL, forming an excellent partnership with Þorgríma Vigdis Ástþórsdóttir, and finishing sixth in the league in points after a couple of down years. Nedeljkovic, though not quite equalling his breakout year, has proven that it was anything but a flash in the pan, enough to continue to earn a spot and no doubt appreciable playing time in the upcoming campaign. Hjort, meanwhile, has made a career out of playing second or third fiddle on the national team, but helped Dynamo to avoid slipping out of IFCF position in an underwhelming season. Ness, well, Ness is Ness. First choice striker for the team for several cycles, newly returned from family leave. The question is, what will her form be like after a year away from football? Eld had an underwhelming arrival at Chalesm, but his prior resume across the multiverse still speaks loudly enough to earn him an inclusion. Lastly Dubynin is here less for what he's accomplished thus far, one decent season with Yassaca and a good showing at the DBC, but for what he might become if he fulfills his potential.

It is not the best time to be a Mertagnian right now. Tensions across the continent and the region have come to an explosive head, as Mertagne has recently announced that a state of war now exists between the nation and its southern neighbour, Bostopia. Mertagne's defence of the Ochre Islands from Bostopia, under the duress of a geomagnetic event that raged on for roughly a year, has now been revealed to the multiverse and with it Bostopia has retaliated against its once hidden enemy. The plans have been drawn and the Mertagnian public is rapidly changing to their new lives. As a nation that undergoes National Service, thousands of Mertagnians that are of age and that have recently completed their service have been called up for the war effort, and the government has rapidly axed the ability to defer your service, a special dispensation that has historically been given to many athletes across the nation that compete on the national stage. The south of the nation bristles in preparation for a continued campaign of air attacks, and the navy continues to fight in international waters to the north to prevent a harsh blockade that could damage trade across the Blood Sea.

These events have meant that Mertagnian national team manager Ázëwyn Fëanáro has had to tighen the purse strings when it comes to shopping into Mertagne's domestic pool for talent, and as such has shipped an unchanged squad from the CAFA to face off against the opponents here in World Cup 95. A strong team that will be carrying the torch on the international stage, this team is a crossroads between a younger and an older generation. Fëanáro's plans to inject some youthful vim and vigour this cycle have been put on ice, as the nation's athletically inclined young adults are instead corralled into training the fighters of the present.

Likely starting in goal is one of Mertagne's best exports in Rhiannon Fawn, who is continuing to carve out a name for herself over in Nephara, being a stalwart of side Starling for several cycles now. Her acrobatic style of diving for the ball gives her the ability to claim a shot when she really had no right to, for sides that place accuracy over power and attempt to stop the 28 year old from getting her mitts on the ball. For other goalkeeper options, Cedric Millard is tossed onto the pitch whenever things just don't seem to be working - his head full of various mantras and general unpredictability seem to unnerve the opposing attack into running out of steam by the time they've managed to reach him. Coming up in the Mertagnian domestic league will do that to a goalkeeper, as in the SLAM there are no draws - after 90 minutes, keepers are subjected to the onslaught of penalties in the event of a tie. Young Pertinax Tikeers is rolled out when the opposing side is utilising their power players, as his shot stopping ability is enough to hook the ball out from what would likely be a slammer into the back of the net.

In the defence, the first options include a pressing centre of Haizene Fairchild and Honorio Menez, who will be looking to tackle the ball and dribble it back towards the midfield before the opposition have the chance to drag themselves back to their defending third. In the event that doesn't work, the defence can easily pivot around Txomin Huon, who can readily win the ball and flick it to Lloyd Seddon, a capable long passer who can ensure that the ball is played out to the sides. Karon Murell will continue to ratchet the ball forwards with her methodical play, and Sabrina Aikman will complement her on the other side of the pitch, still one of Mertagne's fastest players.

The midfield is now set around the centre of Jordan Will, who excels at giving the strikers an opportunity to get behind the ball and smash a shot into the back of the net. Rowan Emberson, team captain this time around due to his experience, will be communicating to get his line and the forward line synced up to create a way around the opposing defence. In the event that more attacking pressure is needed, Stewart Bickley provides a touch close to goal or is more than happy to dribble the ball up towards the box.

For attacking options, Mertagne has plenty to go with. Holly Eveson is vital as an option to provide the ball to any of the other strikers, and is often seen trying to win the ball in the event it's been lost deep in the opponent's half. If a cross is coming, it's likely from Eveson, and it's often headed toward Burro Curwood, who is capable of getting a handle on even the most awry of passes. Often, if Curwood can't find goal from his position, the ball will be passed over to Lewis Travers, who prefers to finish an attack rather than start one. In the event that the centre of the pitch is a little too crowded, options such as Kim Le Maistre and Tevente Kings can drop wide and wait for the ball to be sent out to them, create space, and possibly play with some funky angles when it's time to score.

Should you play Mertagne at our slighty war-damaged home this cycle, you will be treated to a match in one of the following stadiums:

Brandistock Football Campus*, Brandistock, Bardiche (Capacity: 81,600)
*Called the INDOMITABLE ARENA for sponsorship purposes.
The centre of Mertagne's new 'football campus' located just outside the city of Brandistock, on the shores of Mertagne's Lake Shoda, this purpose built stadium sits adjacent to a complex containing the offices of the CAFA, the FMF, and a new purpose built training facility for the sport's current and future talent. Located in a beautiful green park on the shores of the lake, the stadium's striking architecture means its bowl-shaped profile dominates the landscape.
The Brandistock Football Campus will host matches against Ko-oren, Aeragny, Stevencousin, and Île de Richelieu.
Matches will be played behind closed doors with no fans present to ensure the safety of fans, athletes, and staff. Matches will be scheduled during the daytime. Television coverage is available.

Box 2 Box Ballstadion, Keers, Plitterland (Capacity, 44,500)
A brand new stadium built on the site of the Former Keers Dock Pitch, the Box 2 Box Ballstadion is unique in that it incorporates a new eco-friendly design that harkens back to the land's heritage as an active port. The stadium is constructed from nearly one thousand shipping containers of various painted designs, surrounded by a recycled metal frame in a modular design to allow for expansion and contraction as necessary. Currently, while the stadium is designed to be dismantlable, the stadium is intended to be permanent feature to the Keers cityscape for the foreseeable future, with the possibility that the stadium in its entirety can be 'rented' and physically shipped to other nations that lack national infrastructure to host their own tournaments. The stadium's proximity to Mertagne's largest shipping port at Keers facilitates this easily, with marketing material claiming the entire stadium can be dismantled and placed on a single supercontainer ship within a fortnight.
The Box 2 Box Ballstadion will host matches against Beefsteak City, Corrupt Petrostate, and Aphrilia.
Matches will be played behind closed doors with no fans present to ensure the safety of fans, athletes, and staff. Matches will be scheduled during the daytime. Television coverage is available.

Acastanha Male Senior Football Team

Acastanha or Federation of Acastanha is a country located in Sol Peninsula at the northeast part of Main island in Mandalanusa. It has a land border with Kieraha to the southwest and Sendhang to its south. It is a developing country with agriculture and some mining as their main income. CPO is the country's largest export commodity followed by timber.

In the world of football, Acastanha started their international debut by entering 5th Melayu Archipelago Cup. They were managed to advance to quarterfinal, but they were stopped by Belfitz. Over the course of the competition, they are always managed to qualify to the knockout stage. But they often ended up in the quarterfinal. Their best performance was reaching the final stage in 2 occasions. First in the 10th edition where they were defeated by Eraman. And the second was in the 12th edition. At the later, they success to win their first trophy both in the competition and the team history.

In the international competition, Acastanha senior football team debuts at Baptism of Fire 74 before continuing to the World Cup. Throughout their World Cup participation, they never advance to the main competition. They success to break into play-off in WCQ 92 just to be defeated by Drawkland in a penalty shootout. They were also invited to Cup of Harmony. Their best result was Round 32 which they reached in 82nd and 83rd edition. However, their performance has recently decline. They failed to reached play-off in WCQ 93 and they continue to exit earlier in Cup of Harmony after the 83rd edition. This situation is contradictory with their regional achievement.

Estádio da Unidade Nacional is a new stadium built by the government of Acastanha. It is located in the country's capital, Amarelda. It is part of Complexo Desportivo Nacional de Amarelda. The sport complex is established with the help from Pemecutan investor in part of strengthening the relationship of both nations. The stadium is intended to be use by Acastanha national football team as a replacement of the regional stadium, which was used before, Estádio Nacional de Arra and Estádio Estadual de Palidas. For this World Cup Qualifying round, FFA decided to only use Estádio da Unidade Nacional as the only venue for the country home match.

Story

It is hard to believe but the Whalers kick off their fourth World Cup campaign already. And what a journey it has been so far. They emerged under Forseth with whom they, despite taking their first steps, won a BoF bronze medal and got an impressive 61.6% point percentage. The few losses came more often than not against sides featuring in the World Cup. As such, results could not be used as the excuse to give the charismatic and outspoken Forseth the boot but ‘differences concerning the way forward’ were used to part ways. A few days later, in silence, Robert McEather was installed as the new manager of the national team.

A surprise as his history only features a few stints in the lower leagues. But, possibly more importantly, he has an NUP member card. Needless to say that the takeover of the latter party and the installation of a puppet king had its impact on the foundations of society. The newcomer was shunned by the fans for his lack of knowledge and struggled to handle the stars in his selection, not in the least youngsters Simon Carstensen and Jorgen Bjerkness. After a full cycle, an exhausted McEather threw the towel. The load of the position had been too much to carry, the narrative reads, but he signed off with a 68.1% scorecard, a stunning Campionato silver and coming within goal difference of a WC play-off, so history might be kinder on Robert McEather.

The length of the decision making by the FA for a successor led to speculation: all major names of the league made an appearance in the press but most pointed to Van Nooten, a composed and sympathetic fellow without a lot of first-team experience but with a good connection with the squad, having been the assistant under Forseth and McEather. But Van Nooten remained in that role as the FA landed on 56-year old Lozhoan Pazron Finchley. A surprise to the Capnordic fans, but the former center-back earned his stripes with Langhan Town, Lozho U21 and Protchen United. Despite winning prizes as player and coach with the latter, Finchley was disposed unceremoniously there: his move abroad was inspired by a hunger to prove them wrong.

As the results were already on the right track, it seemed fitting that Finchley started from a similar game plan as his predecessors: 4-3-3. But contrary to those before him, there will be a high pressing, giving whole new tasks to the offensive players and even more importance to the energetic wingbacks. A known issue for Cap Nord is the depth of the squad, but Finchley’s U21 experience stimulated him to give chances to a new wave of players, thank some veterans for their service and get more rotation in the squad. The Cup of Harmony, in which the football was hopeful if not for the final game collapse against Aleirave, showed that Finchley has a plan and the dressing room on his side.

The following Campionato confirmed this, but unexpected losses against Racing and Natanians & Nosts made clear that the room for error is limited: more consistency, both across and within a game, is needed. During the previous World Cup, the job of Finchley has been on the line a few times as the results were mixed: decent games were swapped with lackluster performances, seeing Cap Nord collapse in the second half. But a string of unexpected triumphs against Saint Eleanor, Brenecia and Polar Islandstates kept the Lozhoan in the saddle and in a mind-boggling finish, Cap Nord jumped from 6th to 3rd on the final MD to clinch a play-off spot. In those play-offs, Cassadaigua proved far too strong, but it offered some consolation to reach the CoH knock-outs for the first time: Nyowani Kitara was too much to handle.

And then came the Campionato Esportiva in Tumbra. Before the ball rolled, the Whalers dealt with uncertainty over their possibilities. It would go on to be a triumphant episode, with eventually a nail biting finish: penalties allowed Cap Nord to take their first trophy over Brenecia. The jubilant atmosphere has died down a little by now, assisted by the reality check from the ICC, but the Whalers do arrive in this World Cup campaign with qualifying hopes.

Selection

.1 Johannes Marzinn Cleorough [SYL] 27 ( 72 caps)
12 Thom McEnroy Fallwich United 26 ( 2 caps)
13 Alisha Sawyer Clachonoch Rovers 28 ( 0 caps)

Between the stakes, it is Johannes Marzinn who cemented his position, proving his value by guiding Cleorough to an unanticipated IFCF finish. Over the years, the rather introverted Toucans' goalie grew in leadership and his Cup of Harmony game against Valentine Z showed that ‘Clutch’ Marzinn is the right man for the job. When fit, he is a lock for the line-up. The backups are barely tested, but have their merit. There is Thom McEnroy who lives up to the expectations at Fallwich. The phlegmatic redhead possesses a good balance between his skills on the line and footballing intuition: his first cap was long overdue and he could feature in a dead rubber or two. Third in line is Alisha Sawyer, a late bloomer and a bit short but very energetic in the box.

.2 Troels Poulsen IFK Liverpool Utd. [DAR] 29 ( 83 caps/ 7 goals)
3 Glenn Pedersen Sandfjell Fotball 30 ( 19 caps)
4 Luuk Vennema Real Alegria [CAD] 28 ( 83 caps/ 1 goal )
5 Erik Brymsaeter Sporting Noordende 33 (115 caps/ 9 goals)
14 Iver Askelund Crimsonhawke [TKT] 27 ( 4 caps)
15 Eero Stam SK Sandfjell 24 ( 1 cap )
18 Siebe Moersleutel Griffin Isles Utd. [PTR] 23 ( 14 caps)
25 Torill Vinquist Sandfjell Fotball 21 ( 2 caps)
29 Moritz Niemeyer Sielhafen 1.FC 25 ( 1 cap )
30 Neve Adam Crester Wanderers 26 ( 0 caps)
33 Pat O’Sullivan Crester Wanderers 27 ( 10 caps)
34 Annika Romson Norreborg 59 21 ( 0 caps)

The defense, the worry child of the Whalers… Until they were vital in winning the Campionato. The ICC showed there is still room for improvement, but the spirits have been lifted. Luuk Vennema, a commanding player with good heading and style, showed a rekindled spirit arriving from Cardenao. Becoming a flawless defense leader might always remain out of reach, but focusing on his strengths, he cemented himself as a starter in the center. He is joined by Glenn Pedersen whose main strength is a distinct lack of flaws. The Sandfjell player is reliable and decent in about every aspect of the defensive toolbox, but equally unspectacular. Still, his lack of gaffes could ensure some stability in the back. Four alternatives made the selection: Iver Askelund recently jumped up to the TPL and made quick progression there, at 24 he still acted in the second tier. A laid back character but a physically impressive back. Youngster Vinquist is still working for a starting spot with Fotball but her quick progression inspired Finchley to bring her on board early. She's the real deal, but still green and is mainly here due to the lack of alternatives. The same tends to go for Moritz Niemeyer, who is a lumbering presence and misses a bit of flair. Last but not least, there was a surprise inclusion for upcoming talent Romson who took the panoramic route to the top tier, but who possesses the modern back’s toolset.

The wings, so crucial in this system, are a cause of worry as well as the lack of depth is considered major issue, but the starters are highly valued. Left wing, ‘Pencil’ Brymsaeter (after his feet, build, mustache and prose) remains a great source for attacking intentions. The Sporting Noordende man looks more like a violinist than a football player. Nonetheless, he is without remorse and can pick up a goal here or there. His artistic vibe causes some question marks among the staunchly right-wing government but the lack of alternatives keeps him firmly on board. Opposite man Troels Poulsen, on the other hand, actively contributed to the ‘popular uprising/military coup’ (pending on whose word you take for it). But Poulsen is not just a political pawn and possesses style and energy in abundance: watch his rushes. As he can take a card, finding back-up for him was necessary but difficult. Out of options domestically for wingbacks, it was even contemplated whether Brenecian Athame Caulker already qualified for a passport. In the end, the choice fell on O’Sullivan and Stam. Crester’s Pat is fast and has a good cross, but remains fluky in positioning. As such, she is frog leaped by Eero Stam in the pecking order, a hard worker who has a bit more defensive insight. On the left, young talent Siebe Moersleutel gives long-term comfort: his move to Patriotlandia proved to be a positive step on an interesting trajectory and the follow-up for Brymsaeter seems assured. Expect Moersleutel to pick up quite some gametime. In case of injuries, hyped-talent-turned-reverse-turned-back-again-into-quite-decent Neve Adam could warm some benches.

.6 Jody Barnes Cleorough [SYL] 24 ( 32 caps)
8 Theodore Bissett Sielhafen 1.FC 29 ( 83 caps/ 7 goals)
10 Simon Carstensen Sandfjell Fotball 24 ( 83 caps/16 goals)
16 Emilie Gronseth Draiewikum Boys 26 ( 4 caps)
17 Trevor Barrington Sporting Noordeinde 29 ( 29 caps/ 3 goals)
20 Hella Veensma Pesfield Trees [SYL] 27 ( 51 caps/ 7 goals)
24 Kenneth Breuker Fallwich United 33 ( 38 caps)
26 Maximilian Dahl Sporting Noordende 23 ( 7 caps/ 1 goal )
32 Jo-Hannes Mergelaar Sandfjell Fotball 19 ( 0 caps)

The starting midfield trio moved further away from the traditional archetypes of the breaker, the runner and the creative type. In a way, all three are number eights for their day-time teams. But Finchley does note how their shared skills allow Cap Nord to play forward and put pressure on the opposition. It can open a can of worms against shrewd, defensive sides, but as the automatisms improve, those holes should be fewer and further between. Theodor Bissett used to struggle to make the line-up but became a mainstay under Finchley as box-to-box: he is a man with energy, stamina and more than decent feet. If he can employ those at the right time, he is a potential world beater. By his side, Jody Barnes made good use of her days in Sylestone to take the next step. Jody brings a bit more grit, a ton of energy and an amazing 360 vision which makes you forget about the occasional bad touch. However, by all standards, Carstensen remains the lynchpin for the Whalers. The Sandfjell midfielder already became the playmaker of this top-three side at seventeen and continues to show leadership, even if he has a sharp edge: the spotlights caught a few incidents. He is rather industrious for his role, with excellent vision and passing. The only thing missing from his game might be a few more goals.

Carstensen can also appear a bit lower down the field, contrary to his back-up Hella Veensma who combines energy with insight and short turns. Both in Waalterzee, Sielhafen and Pesfield, she has shown continuous growth and she must be the most used reserve in the squad as she always brings something different to a Cap Nord game. The other offensive option 'Max' Dahl was and is a high-potential but can disappear from a game a bit too much to carry a national team. Can he add a spark in the final minutes? Definitely, both with a pass and an infiltration. In difficult games, Finchley might prefer the unconventional Breuker over Barnes: the United man shows no mercy and is notorious for bullying an opposing playmaker out of the game. Or a chance can go to up-and-coming Emilie Gronseth who executes tasks efficiently yet with a certain flair: 97+% pass completion style. Rounding up the set of midfielders are Trevor Barrington who copies the style of Bissett, with a bit less stamina but slightly better feet, and young talent Mergelaar, the newest flavor to roll off the Sandfjell talent conveyor belt. It is clear, Finchley can pick his accents with this section of the line-up.

.7 Jorgen Bjerkness Fort Viljan North. [TIK] 23 ( 70 caps/19 goals)
9 Daniel Clark Sporting Noordende 26 ( 66 caps/19 goals)
11 Rohan Williams Corinth. No Longer [NPH] 30 (111 caps/38 goals)
19 Till Myrrheim Crimsonhawke FC [TKT] 29 (116 caps/67 goals)
21 Gunvor Tofte Lydholm Forened 22 ( 4 caps)
22 Moussa Sangaré Lhor [CMT] 28 ( 34 caps/ 3 goals)
23 Keanu Marshall Draiewikum Boys 24 ( 1 cap )
27 Elliott Jackson Norreborg 59 29 ( 15 caps/ 3 goals)
28 Finn Mickelsen Norreborg 59 20 ( 0 caps)
31 Matthias Oen Olympique Isbècque 23 ( 0 caps)

It is a peculiar attacking trio as Finchley clearly has a different target here: one big man, two smaller players who attack the defensive line with the sting of a bee, without being full blooded wingers. Up front, one no longer finds Till Myrrheim, a likable two meters of unfiltered firepower, with a babyface on top. A gentle giant outside the game, Myrrheim shuns no duel and weighs on an opposing defense. The numbers speak for itself, if you let the Sandfjell ace come anywhere near the box, you are putting yourself in grave danger. But the goal machine has gotten in a bit of a standstill in his last two years, both at home and in Crimsonhawke. This has given ‘Danny’ Clark the chance to get in the line-up, a reward for a series of solid appearances. A lanky forward who scores with ease, Clark possesses the football IQ to pop up where he is needed. The Noordende star can be a sole striker, but could also operate close to Myrrheim, living off the balls that get pumped into that direction. Despite ‘Danny Boy’ and ‘Till Torrheim’ being the national top scorers, the player that everyone on the playing ground wants to be is Rohan Williams. After all, he is in all aspects a beautiful footballer. Makes the covers of the sports section with his dribbles, of the newspapers with his podcast and of the tabloids with his flirts and cars. This striker drifts between the wing and the box and somehow only scores marvelous goals. His time in Nephara added a bit more seriousness out of bounds and improved efficiency on the pitch.

Under Finchley, Jorgen Bjerkness rounds up the attacking trio. Originally an attacking midfielder, the talented 'ZoomZoom' (after a brand of spinning tops) will be making use of the spaces between defenders and midfielders with his movement and great first touch. The bench options are best characterized as role players. If Cap Nord finds themselves pinned to their own half, they can throw in lightning bolt Sangaré, who can run a ball out of bounds but will wreak havoc on the opposition. ‘The Jacker’ Jackson operates as the back-up for Myrrheim: his lack in style gets made up for in goals and work rate. Ideal for when pumping balls in the box is the only road left. Keanu Marshall feels like have a similar flavor, but there is more technique in his appearances. Young kid Tofte showed she's got a wider variety of skills than just being really fast with Lydholm and should earn more moments in the national shirt. She's more goal oriented than most players in her style. As debutants, there are out-and-out winger Matthias Oen and the highly awaited talent Finn Mickelsen (who starts to take his time to really explode).

Stadiums

Situated in the planned (but failed) capital of Huftstad, the Mies van Moerstadion can welcome a bit over twelve thousand fans. It is a modern, functional arena but lacks soul: it is named after the dullest of prime ministers in Cap Nord’s modern history. For the opponents, this might be the place they want to play if they want to evade the strong support from the fans of the Whalers. But they will have to take the mind numbing design and the lack of hotspots for the visiting fans with that advantage.

The home of the Whalers for the home games against the two highest pots will be the most elaborate and new football stadium in the country. The SendBank Arena combines a clean look and feel with a decent atmosphere and should have been the stadium for all games, if the FA had not been fueled by some weird ambition to spread the games around the country. Stennköping suits the image of the stadium: a bit dull at first sight but more character than often given credit for.

Two important games for the ambition of Cap Nord will take place in the Feltdistrikt. The stadium, with its typical ‘blocky’ look might come across a bit threatening for visiting teams due to the small pitch and the stands being near the touchline. It needs a bit of refurbishing to last longer but as the home stadium of playmaker Carstensen, you can expect the crowds to overlook the loose stones and enjoy the game. Quite notorious for the ‘third half’ with a row of bars across the street of the stadium.

The largest stadium in terms of volume is the Stade des Marais in Isbècque which allows thirty thousand fans to follow a game under the stars. It is dilapidated with rotten concrete and the only reason it was picked must be the receipt. But the local fans will enjoy not seeing second tier football for once and are notorious for their pyrotechnics. If the game allows so, you could well see sparks on the pitch as well as the Stade has a tendency to make its appearance in exciting games.

We will wrap up the home part of the campaign in the J.T. Berkley Stadium. ‘The Berk’ is a bit peculiar due to the dichotomy between the modern west stand (plastic seats in the club colors, clean bars and fire safe exits) and the cozy but rather outdated east stand (wooden benches, little semi-illegal food stands left and right, death traps in the design). The away fans are usually pushed into a separate, comically small and high stand behind the goal. A stadium that breathes home advantage, in part due to the minute dressing room for the visitors.

TROLLEBORG NATIONAL TEAM

Nickname: Trolls

Usually team played in green, with white and red versions as second choice. All three was obvious choice, since they all are present at the national flag. Blue color is one that associated with medieval color of arms of the time when Trolleborg undergo a great test of strength. After some experiments, team decide to settle on green as main color.

Image

NATIONAL TEAM

All in all, our team won 235 victories, 84 draws and was defeated 119 times with 683 goals scored and 438 conceded. In World Cup Qualification games Trolleborg have 117 victories, 47 draws and lost 56 games, with 380 goals scored and 244 conceded. Three times team played in the WC final part, but not having any sucess at all in them, finished fourth in group stage every time, while four times lost playoff games for a ticket to the World Cups.

Albeit its worst ever result in the WCQ's is (rather decent) fifth place out of eleven possible, and team never have negative balance of victories and defeats in any of the WCQ's, and all painful failures can't be attributed to the lack of skills, right now team can be considered as being in the state of protracted decline in minds of Trolleborg fans. A lot of them sticks to the opinion that team already touch its high ceiling and is unlikely to be able to touch it again.

COACH

Morten Troghil, who celebrate his 63th birthday recently, lead team since its debut almost twelve years ago. He brought Trolleborg team onto 25th spot in the world ranks but not succeed in arresting protracted descent of team position in rankings.

Morten Kerr (31). This is very skilful and intelligent player, who take a way from the U21 team to the national one by virtue of his reflexes, bravery and clear reading of the game. His performance in 140th season of Trolleborg League definitely made him favourite to have number 1 shirt in the national team.
Torben Fingall (26). Prove himself efficient and reliable, he has a great talant of well-positioning himself, and extremely fast in addition. He have some playing time in the recent international tournaments and at the same time performed strongly in local league, so this, coupled with unconvincing form of other contenders for a spot in the team give him a number two status.
Buyo (26). One of the people who migrate into Trolleborg after country open himself to the world ten years ago, he is recent addition to the team. Not tall for a goalkeeper, but very fast, brave and jumpy, he performs consistently well in the championship. He have a rather checkered record in the national team, and at the some points was close to the status of number one, but lost this contest. In addition recent season was definitely not his best, so with all probability he will be third choice.

DEFENDERS

Torstein Bjerkelund (27). Right defender was part of the “Finn Hurps” squad that twice won Confederations Trophy, he prove that he doesn't get frightened when he has to fight for the ball with stronger and more experienced players. He also prove this at the national team.
Hendrick Haar (26). New face in the Trolleborg national team defence line, he is right defender of the traditionally preferred mold – good tackler, fast moving, joining attack when have opportunity. But he have a difficult times in fighting with Bjerkelund for a spot in the lineup
Joran Du Riis (34). Cold-blooded fighter prove that he more than capable holding his own at the highest level. Agile and fast-moving, but solidly builded and used this for his advantage, he play with composure and responsibility, for a half-dozen of years he was a key player of the Trolleborg defence. Right now, however, he considered as a solid backup on a rainy day or situations when his experience will be vital. He was a captain of the team last few years, but, probably, not this season.
Miran Fizer (32). This very robust player has a nickname “Greaven”, meaning in Trollish language a very strong sort of mountain stone. Miran have a great positioning skills, he fight for every ball, dominant in the aerial game and very tight marker, but he looked like person totally devoid of any constructive capacity. He capable only of limited passing and never goes far forward. His mode of work usually limited to disrupting any activity by the opposing team in his area of responsibility, and once in possession of the ball, he usually sends it wherever direction he face. At least he did what everyone wanted from him recently: he was a key man in the games with Villita and Flavovespia, and, albeit he is rare bird in the starting lineup of the team, maybe he at least found himself at his place.
William Schendel (30). This versatile fast moving defender known for his skillful positioning and man-marking, highly effective in breaking opposition attacks, great in the heading, with incredible high crosses-interception rate. He also added many new tricks and skills while playing in the international football both in national and club team.
Thomas Heg (27). This versatile defender can play as both central or left defender, but head coach of national team prefer to use him as central, usually paired with Schendel. His movements are sure and quick, he is masterful when intercepting ball and excellent in the air. He did what he have to do in the recent tournaments, but this did not bring too much luck to the team.
Kjell Helvig (26). This brave defender shows commitment and hard work in every game, in addition to good positional sense, and prove himself very difficult to beat by opposition forwards. Being very mobile, he frequently moves forward to support attack. He shown noticeable progress in the few last years, and made it to the national team squad. It will be seen, are he will be a man up to the tasks situation give him.
Joran Rijsager (30). Left defender or central defender as coach see fit, he concedes nothing to rivals and rarely makes a mistakes in local league, but his performance at the national team up to date is not too convincing.

MIDFIELDERS

Soren Wittingem (29). Wittingem is very capable defencive midfielder, strong player who can run incessantly whole 90 minutes, distributes ball well due to his great passing ability and perfect knowledge of game, and also shows considerable tenacity and real class at his duties as defensive midfielder, as it was extremely difficult to go past him. But his form in the international team lacked something badly needed for a success.
Torben Scantorp (26). This defensive midfielder ball-winning talents are remarkable – at last at the national level. He has a talent of reading game (and some also joking, that also reading thoughts), and is untiring worker, also capable to bring ball forward fast and precise. Head coach give him time at the field at WC-95 and IAC, and this player is don’t make obvious blunders. But it must be noted that neither he add too much to the team might and capabilities.
Anselm Kollimor (29). By his main profession he is attack-minded right-side midfielder. His runs into the box of rival teams is always dangerous. But he have a tough fight for the spot at the team lineup, since he has to compete with Jesper Gronholm.
Jesper Gronholm (31). Long-established member of the team, he was comfortable at the right flank as midfielder and winger, willingly join any move forward, where he pass ball quickly and thoughtfully, and sometimes shot at goal with a very decent results. His performance recenly was good, but not as good as fans wanted him to be.
Jesper Wolters (29). Quick, skillful and creative, this central midfielder covers a lot of ground, taking part in defensive work and joining attacks willingly. But not everything he did in the international football is as good as team needs in current dire circumstances.
Brutil Skrta (29). Very complete player, who posessed ability, stamina, flair, technique and resoluteness in just perfect mix. Shows tremendous accuracy when passing, fine distant shooting skills, he moved very fast and prove his talents in almost every tournament. But he lacked something to be the real team engine.
Kenneth Pathmoor (30). This central midfielder can cover a lot of space in the middle of the field and with his pace, agility and an eye for goal he willingly can find net himself or conjure goal opportunity for his forwards.
Karsten Gould (28). This versatile midfielder can play as a left midfielder or forward if needed. But his passing much better than shooting skills, so he prefer not to make long shots, instead move into the box very fast and try to make dangerous continuations. He prove himself well in the international club tournaments last season and his chances for a place in the lineup improved as a result of recent changes in the squad.
Casper Sogndal (26). One of the new faces in the team, this left winger clearly try to emulate best performers of our national team, and did real well in the club international tournaments.

FORWARDS

Torben Kranforde (30). Very fast forward, who have special ability to surprise rival defenders. He also posessed a great skill of positioning himself very well, and regularly sent many defenders and goalkeepers into despair with his precise and deadly shots from both feet. He scored many goals for national team, but nevertheless this didn’t help team to win any silverware, and his popularity not rises to the level of his great predecessors.
Morten Kroonquist (31). This fast forward known for intensity of his game, and he is capable to maintain workrate in all 90 minutes. With enviable quickeness he moved very fast, turns very well, constantly pressurized rival defenders, with or without balls, and always trying winning back posession. But things looked like luck does not accompany him precisely at moments when it is really needed.
Gerard Reuzer (28). This tall and sturdy forward was again, after long hiatus, called to the national team. With addition to the good dribbling skills he controls ball well and can shot from either feet or holding ball up until his teammated arrived. He also can contribute to the team efforts by his good headers and do this rather convincingly in the recent games both on the national and international scene.
Kendall Kerl (28). This power forward proved himself very effective (if judged by recent international club tournaments) in front of goals. Physically strong, so he don’t have need to shies away from collusions, but usually he prefer to concentrate on his prime functions, and he also blessed by great technoque, so scores a lot of goals from just one touch.
Jasper Skjold (26). Player of the U18 Trolleborg team in the times of its debute, he already having a reputation of a great master of avoiding man-marking and put himself where opportunity to put a goal exist. His goalscoring instincts already earned him every year a good place in the league scoresheet. But not the place in the main lineup of national team

TEAM TACTICS AND GAME STYLE

With Morten Troghil at the helm team continue practiced attractive attacking game on a fast pace. Usually he use 4-4-2 or 3-5-2 depending on what opponents have on hands. Team always try to use pressing when ball is not on our side.

Unsportsmanlike behavior in Trolleborg is highly discouraged, even – and especially – if in the interests of the cause. National team players are required to meet the highest standards possible, so it is completely impossible to imagine a player of the Trolleborg national team faking injury or begging for a penalty. It is expected that players who have a choice between faked fall and appeal for penalty and try to continue game choice latter without any doubts. Compromises impossible.

Style –5.
No, there was no confusion, team played attacking football on the field, while having negative style modifier for a scorinating purposes.

STADIUM

Altought there was a many voices to drop this custom and move to another venue, it was again decided that all Trolleborg’s home games will be played in the capital, Trolleborg City, on a “1th December” Stadium, which have a capacity of 100,000.

Image

This stadium was built by the voluntary labor of ordinary citizens in the honour of the sacred 1th December, Trolleborg Day of Victory. It’s located in the beautiful place – in the middle of a forested area on a peninsula protruding into the sea near the capital. Basically stadium is a a huge cement bowl, with minimal amenities for anything other than watching football. Roof is completely absent, but stadium have a weather-making device, which was ensures constant temperature around +20+22C and allows only a slight breeze.

OUR FANS

Fans is a pride of Trolleborg and almost part of the team. They always are arrived in big crowds where fate take our national team, but never have started any trouble.
