6th Brevity Cup - Everything Thread

Postby Quebec and Shingoryeo » Mon Aug 28, 2023 10:51 pm

OOC: For most part the format follows that of the last Brevity Cup, in order to ensure continued consistency of the competition.

Guide to Sports Roleplaying

Format

We have 32 teams! So we will have 8 groups of 4. Top four from each group will advance to the knockout stages. There will be no seeded live draw this time, but the groups, the pots and IC information section will be made available sometime in the Thursday afternoon, which should give approximately three days before the start of the competition.

This is an association football tournament, that'll be held in the immediate aftermath of the World Cup and Cup of Harmony. Every single game at this tournament will be hosted, ICly, within Quebec and Shingoryeo as test tournament ahead of the Games of the XVII Olympiad that will be cohosted by Jolbonopolis and New Oxford-Whitehaven (CEN). Quebec and Shingoryeo. While the RQFA has declined to send a representative citing various reasons, the Quebecois Under-19 and Under-22 teams will be ICly available outside of the competition to provide IC friendlies if needed.

The key? RPs will be limited to exactly 50 words. And a maximum one RP per matchday. Bonuses for other challenges will be set after each scorination, that will include things like a word or phrase of the day, or miscellaneous trivia, or a random theme. You can choose to ignore all that of course, and you'll forego some of your bonus. So the Brevity Challenge Cup is a creative writing challenge, but designed to inspire and not to give you a ton of homework. ICly it might be a nice opportunity to give fringe NTers some playing time directly after the World Cup, or a chance to give your senior team another opportunity to earn a trophy.

And yes- I've gotten permission from the tournament founder to resurrect this tournament after a RL decade of it going into hiatus.

Organisational Notes

Grading Your RP
RPs that are not exactly 50 words will not receive a RP bonus

I will use the following website as my word counter, so everybody's clear what I'm judging by. They will be the final judge & jury on topics of word count(while I am the executioner).

Note on rosters: Word Count limits DO NOT APPLY to team rosters. And a roster post does not count towards your RP limit of one post per Matchday.

Ranks

To give some weight - but not too much - to the established order of things, teams will receive a ranking based on the most up-to-date KPB available. Simplified by dividing up the KPB into brackets of ten and giving a rank dependent on which bracket a team currently resides in. However, anyone who takes part using, say, a bunch of fans who won a pie-eating competition on TV, or bus drivers on holiday, or veterans over the age of fifty, can self-elect to rank themselves in a lower bracket. Please clearly identify this as a part of your roster(obviously it'll effect your rank points but not your pot). Because it's not about the winning, it's about the taking part, right????

Teams ranked between 1-20: 10 rank points.
Teams ranked between 21-50: 8 rank points.
Teams ranked between 51-100: 6 rank points
Teams ranked between 101-400: 3 rank points
Unranked teams: 0 rank points

IC INFORMATION:
There are many parts of The Valhallan Union that the nation of Sargossa considers itself to have historic, cultural, and geographic claims to. Though they haven't always been, the states of Cairnskillen, Sint Karbijn, and The Fallenmarks Islands are all independent nations within the Union, and as far as the True Valhallan Federation of Polar Islandstates is concerned, they always will be... So long as they do what they're told.

There are two pieces of land that are a bit more contentious, however.

Firstly, there's Terra Scotia, which despite lying further away from Franz Josef City than some other nations, was a prominent and enthusiastic member of the Valhallan Union in the pre-Federation era. Not only that, but once the Federation was up and running, the Scotians maintained that they wished to be not merely in the Union anymore but also to be the Federation's farthest flung state. No arguments from FJC on that one. The more the merrier! With the added bonus of a decent Federal anchor in Rushmore.

And then, there's East Külmsaar.

East Külmsaar is... well, what is East Külmsaar? That's a good question.

Lying closer to the shores of Sargossa than any other part of the Valhallan Union, the islands of Külmsaar had always been a pain in the neck of successive Sargossan administrations who believe the islands to be theirs. Despite this, and an undeniably entwined cultural history with their influential neighbour, the Saari have in fact long considered themselves Valhallan - not necessarily directly, but rather through their political association with Terra Scotia, with whom the Saari have always had a strong and cordial relationship with and who in turn had sought out Federal membership as mentioned above. This act, going from an associate member of The Valhallan Union to joining the Federation as part of the state of 'Külmsaar and Terra Scotia', was to raise tensions significantly with the other Oygruppen power.

Unsurprisingly, there had always been a significant minority of Saari who always favoured closer ties with Sargossa, as names of both places and people on the islands may hint, although in the most part the two diasporas had learned to live alongside each other with a relative lack of friction. Soluca would rattle its sabre every now and then, or alternatively Franz Josef City would, either of which worked up their respective disciples into a temporary patriotic froth, but internal tensions barely ever reached a simmer let alone boiling point. The status quo might have been imperfect for many, but it was tolerated by almost all in the name of peace with the majority.

And then, a long time ago, there was a Külmsaari 'incident' between the two northern powers that wasn't exactly a war. Not technically. It was too small to be a war, and nobody ever used the 'W' word in official channels, but it was damned close. A skirmish, perhaps. A foreign policy misstep by the Federal government under internal pressure by business lobbyists ended in a Sargossan invasion of Külmsaar, domestic unrest and rioting, a daring if foolhardy blockade breach, some surprising cavalry charges, the assassination of the islands' Governor, a bridge collapse, and, eventually, an ill-advised and poorly worded referendum.

The end result? Külmsaar as a whole voted overwhelmingly to leave the Federation of Polar Islandstates, to remain distanced from Soluca, and to become an independent nation. All hail democracy; Rushmore has a new nationstate. However, the Saari also voted pretty convincingly to remain in a union with Terra Scotia specifically. Which, of course, meant sort of being in the Federation by association? Nonetheless, the vote was respected, and a 'citizen exchange' of sorts was proposed by the two sparring puppet-masters. Sargossan-sympathisers would head west over the Natalis Straits, and Scotia-philes would head east.

Thrust into a sort of political limbo, the western half of the islands were occupied by Sargossan forces, and the eastern half by Scotian National Guard. Perhaps wisely, the Federal forces have steered well clear of the area ever since, officially speaking, although the Scotian Guard have been suspiciously well-funded ever since. The islands of East Külmsaar were declared a de facto independent nation soon afterwards, with an international border running down the middle of the Natalis Strait. Whether West Külmsaar was still independent or subsumed into being a part of Sargossa was in effect a decision taken out of the hands of those in power in Agheim, Islay, or Franz Josef City.

**

Decades later, the grandson of the assassinated Governor Rekish has risen to power as the head of The Party, and now leads a paranoid and power-hungry administration in Franz Josef City that both fears and respects Sargossa for what it did to Külmsaar and how it manipulated the situation to get at least part of what it wanted. Having thrown open the borders at last and lifted the curtains of secrecy that surrounded the VU for the better part of three decades, Secretary General Orion Lund now wishes to emulate this mastery of puppets by flexing the Federal muscle over Oygruppen in a purely non-military way. It wouldn't do to actually threaten Soluca now, would it...

The message to the international community is clear; Valhalla is back, and we are a free and dynamic association of countries whose people wish to do business, make friends, show off, and beat you in international football! Unless you're from Sargossa. In which case, mainly just the last two.

So, after Agheim CF joined the Federal VFA league structure and did surprisingly well over the past few decades, The Party have decreed that Rushmore and the Multiverse needs to see how well a Valhallan-suppoerted East Külmsaar is doing these days. And that includes you, the East Külmsaar Football Association! What do you mean you don't have any money? Oh, go on then; here you go. Don't spend it all at once...

STAFF:
Manager: Juan Ove Arne, 64
Ordinarily, with Agheim CF playing so far up the VFA league structure, you would expect their players to dominate any Saari national team. However, whilst it is true they are able to hoover up the best of the talent the islands have to offer, they are also currently embroiled in a relegation dogfight, and due to the timing of this tournament, they are not releasing any of their senior players. Which is a shame, as one of the stipulations placed upon Arne and the EKFA was that only domestically based players could be called up, ruling out the handful of Saari that play in the Federal leagues for Polarian teams; not least amongst them being RSK Longyearbyen Town's vice-captain Soren Reig. As a result, Palebeests manager Juan Ove Arne has rolled with the punches and will be raiding the Agheim CF youth squad instead, dotting this selection of youngsters around his team of otherwise hardened semi-professionals from the Saari domestic leagues.

Saari football is relentlessly attacking, so expect to see a much more exciting brand of football than the dirge being served up by the Terns at the moment, and also expect plenty of Polarian fans to turn out in support of Arne and his team. Arne wonders how much of this is down the football he has his team playing and how much is down to 'gentle' encouragement from those up north, but he just gets on with it. He knows his country is being used as a puppet by those in Franz Josef City, but he's happy to go along with that if it means he gets to manage on a bigger stage. He was once on the coaching staff at Islay Town Mechanical, so has extensive Divisjon One experience, and is a hard-nosed veteran of the dugout. Nothing will phase him.

Assistant Manager: Kaspar Flug, 49
Trusted sidekick of Arne's for many years, Kasper Flug is much more than a 'yes man'. When Arne retired as manager of CA Patranqua, Flug was the obvious choice to step-in and take the promotion, leading them to promotion into the Scotian top flight in his first season. With that said, when Arne needed an assistant for the Brevity Cup, up stepped Flug at the drop of a hat. His bosses at Patranqua aren't thrilled about this, but are hoping the experience proves beneficial to Flug and he brings back ideas and techniques that will see them continue to climb the pyramid. Often the first one to bring patterns and opportunities to Arne's attention, he has a keen eye, and will work hard at studying the opposition.

PLAYERS:
GK
#1 - GK - Astmundur Buchen - Age 18 - Agheim CF
#12 - GK - Oscar Streck - Age 32 - Scotian Guard
#13 - GK - Pablo Thorman - Age 30 - CA Patranqua
Astmunder Buchen might be young in years compared to the other keepers in the squad, but he's no mug. With a handful of appearances in Divisjon Two, his demotion back to the youth team was seen as something of a surprised to those who've followed Ahgeim CF's recent woes, as the geneal consensus is he's no worse than the goalies in their first team squad. Nonetheless, their loss is the Palebeests' gain, and he'll be first choice between the sticks at this tournament, with Streck and Thorman no doubt offering guidance from the side.

DEF
#2 - DR - Erwin Catanzaro - Age 29 - CA Patranqua
#3 - DC - Anders Weig - Age 27 - Agheim Peoples' Club
#4 - DC - Dagfninnur Torres-Bru - Age 19 - Agheim CF - VICE-CAPTAIN
#5 - DL - Sonny Niedfeldt - Age 19 - Agheim CF
#18 - DR - Lars Bergdahl - Age 29 - Samphrey Cove FC
#19 - DL - Sasha Bellinger - Age 28 - CD Pontevigo
#22 - DC - Hector Pfefferkorn - Age 17 - Agheim CF
#23 - DC - Emil Steibel - Age 18 - Agheim CF
Vice-captain at the age of just nineteen, Torres-Bru leads the line in style at the back, with a confidence on the ball that only Saari football can bring. It's sometimes misplaced confidence, of course, but if he's going to lose the ball he's at least going to look good doing it. Anders Weig from the Peoples' Club sits opposite him in the centre, whilst Niedfeldt and Catanzaro have license to get forwards pretty much whenever they want. With mean crosses on them, expect that to be a sight you'll have to get used to. Hector Pfefferkorn might have a silly name, but there's a reason he's been called up at the age of just seventeen.

MID
#6 - DMC - Emmanuel Flendahl - Age 31 - CA Patranqua
#7 - AMC - Jasper Ardinger - Age 30 - Uyeasound Rangers
#8 - MC - Silvester Pineiro - Age 19 - Agheim CF
#14 - MC - Mikus Jachim - Age 19 - Agheim CF
#15 - DMC - Benjamin Charkov - Age 28 - Saavedra Town Reds
#16 - AMC - Gunnar Saberstrom - Age 24- Agheim Peoples' Club
#17 - MC - Mehdi Perez- Age 28 - Scotian Guard
In the middle of the park, Pineiro will add the youthful energy to the grizzled experience of Flendahl and Ardinger. Flendahl in particular looks like he's spent most of his life out on a fishing trawler, which to be fair is only half wrong, and he has been known to scare the opposition into letting him take the ball. He and Mehdi Perez have come to blows on more than one occasion during their time in the Saari island league in fact, so it will be interesting to watch their dynamic should they ever share the field at the same time. Gunnar Saberstrom meanwhile has turned down a move to Islay Town Mechanical on more than one occasion in order to stay on the island, and it is therefore a bit of a surprise to see Ardinger starting ahead of him.

ATT
#9 - ST - Markus Persson - Age 19 - Agheim CF
#10 - ST - Josef Garcia - Age 32 - Agheim Peoples' Club
#11 - ST - Alvaro Aer-Lopez - Age 29 - FC Esquel - CAPTAIN
#20 - ST - Tomas Salveson - Age 19 - Agheim CF
#21 - ST - Johans Kohn - Age 20 - EKNG Natalis Grenadiers
Up top, Markus Persson is the name on everyone's lips at Agheim CF right now. No doubt if he wasn't coming back from injury he'd still be in the first team in fact, and therefore unavailable for selection here. As it happens however, the management at CF consider this an excellent way to get back to full fitness, and he certainly looks ready and raring to go. Who knows, maybe he'll learn enough new tricks to come back and save them from relegation. Darting around either side of Persson and allowing the big man to find space are Island League veterans Garcia and Aer-Lopez. Don't let their relative age fool you, they're amongst the most energetic people in the squad, and Salveson and Kohn will have to take their chances on the pitch with both hands if they're going to hope to displace either of them from the starting line-up.

Penalty Taker: Alvaro Aer-Lopez/Markus Persson/Josef Garcia
Free Kick Taker: Jasper Ardinger/Alvaro Aer-Lopez/Silvester Pineiro
Corner Taker: Jasper Ardinger/Alvaro Aer-Lopez/Silvester Pineiro

Probable Starting formation: 4-3-3
-------------------------------- Buchen --------------------------------
---------- Catanzaro -- Weig -- Torres-Bru -- Niedfeldt ----------

We will be coming back stronger than ever, but for now, we need and want to try other ventures!

OOC: I don’t consider the Brevity Cup a part of the proper national team cycle. Gnejs will therefore be represented by a «Friendship Association», which is precisely an association of friends. If my opponents takes this cup more seriously, they’re welcome to say that they’re playing the Gnejs National Team («The Dandelions»). My rank can be set to zero.

Beaming SDFA under the auspices of the People's Federal Matriarchy of Sea Dome City & Massives are truly honored upon the
momentous occasion of the BCC to present to the world stage its debut of the AOCAF-blooded, remade-in-war & most very finest

and the much heralded debut of the kit

featuring quorum of sick marines & blackguards & w/ intentions most vile- to shock & terrorize the ignorant.

Meet the architects of your deserved hatred
Manager Xiu the Tactician, 55 times resolved. "Paper 4-2-3-1" inverts to as disgusting a form as 2-3-5 so as to expose your 'superiority' for the personality disorder that it is. After taking the name Xiu from a dusty Earth Linguistics text, she became an Assault Technician for the Marines when war broke out. They called it "Civil" but it was just this bitch opening Corporate blood sacks like candy. After proving instrumental in routing the invaders at County Massive, she was elected Tactician by her comrades-in-arms. Now accessing battle maps and throwing opinions off her true peers, Xiu spotted an error in Corporate thinking which allowed her to bait the Iron Hill Regiment into an apparently cherry landing in Archipelago Massive before cruelly slaughtering them there at the entrance, Remission Beach the moment they felt safe. Similarly, Xiu has been known to expertly create the illusion of open space between the back lines before snapping into a 4-player line- or executing an offside trap, as against Tropicorp in AOCAF 67. International competition record: 0-0-3.

* translatable Matrian name

Starting keeper 0 Ham Palisade*, 37M. Dome City Eagles (MSD)
Brother of Hock. Scar across right eye area earned on Remission Beach (could have been removed by now, but he hasn't). Allowed only 13 GA in 20 Casaran matches for DCE. Expected to dazzle in BCC, AOCAF and SPL 1. A rangy keeper unafraid of any confrontation.

Starting fullback 1 Warman* Farfadillis, 32M. La Querida (FFD) Image
Started for DCE with Ham. Ideally 'Warman' should be translated in one word if possible, even if this mangles your language. Crucial to the surprise results in AOCAF prewar, and to the Eagles' defensive efforts, the man named after a war-torn nation has now been bought by one of their clubs to even further desolate the poor bastards.

Starting centerback 2 Solar Machine*, 33N. Deep Country FC (MSD)
Key to DC's (extremely close) 4th-best defense allowing just 17 GA in SDFA. Graduated from SDU Civil Engineering and worked on the membranes underneath the Dome allowing it to exchange (or, technically, poison) water anywhere. Administered Naval engineering projects during the war. Solar has a penchant for using her head both figuratively and literally. By the way, DCFC play in the Shallowdeeps, the water between SDC and the Deep Country Research Station, so she is also accustomed to a literal high-pressure environment.

Starting centerback 3 Heaven Walker, 34F. Deep Country FC (MSD)
A rare "full English" name, commonly mistaken for a Matrian translatable name, and Heaven takes it in stride when it is translated out of habit. Her work with Solar was crucial for club and country, including the aforementioned offside trap incident. Criminally passionate on the field, perhaps a little hot under the collar even for a Matrian. Military career classified.

Starting fullback 4 Arctic Wood, 28F. Hub City FC (MSD)
A quick, occasionally deceptive wingback, Arctic is known for bolting up the side of a dazed opposing midfield but also for painfully efficient tackling. Graduated from Sea Dome Independent Study with a degree in marine biochemistry during the war, immediately becoming a Navy lab technician for some purpose. Unsettled?

Starting holder 5 Duror Paxgint, 32N. North Xuelei Mongoose (MSD), League 2 of SPL
Won FA Cup and expected to debut in CWC and CC. Fiercely independent, as might be inferred from their unusually non-translatable name. Rather narcissistic, or "grifty" in Matrian English. Duror's war, where he cleaned burning-hot fuels and parts, tempered this somewhat but peacetime is starting to bring it back out. Certain to move to a League 1 side.

Starting holder 6 Savoy Hearken*, 31N. Archipelago FC (MSD)
AFC have had problems on defense and if Sav weren't holding the line, would have been even worse. Machinelike passer, not the fastest, but loved all over MSD for ruining people's days. Military career classified.

Starting AM 7 Proud Brackish*, 30N. Archipelago Rangers (MSD)
Scored 17 of Rangers' 2nd-best 33GS in league play (only 20 Casaran ties). Bendy kick taker with a taste for blood. Escaped CC1 after High City College was shuttered during the war, amidst his studies. Repaired fishing equipment for the Strategic Reserve Company for the remainder of the war, coming under fire from the occasional Economics Army firebombers.

Starting center 8 Able Cantatrice*, 28M. Sea Dome University (MSD)
Well-built, solid center mid, spry as any Matrian due to the strategic reserve of age-slowing drugs. Beloved for their physical playstyle, Able is also known to exchange words after dishing piquant tackles. Postgraduate in Naval Sciences at SDU.

Starting AM 9 Potter Sensory*, 29M. Industry City (MSD)
Scored 15 of City's league-beating 36 GF (they also finished a respectable 10th in the FA Cup). He also scored with brio in Banija during AOCAF 67 and several more times in domeward friendlies, the FA Cup and so on. War made him a Navy chef, and he is now considered both a special cook and quite a mouthy leftist even by Matrian standards.

Starting ST 10 Selværion, 27F. North Xuelei Mongoose (MSD), League 2 of SPL
Tall, lithe and auburn, Selv scored twice in AOCAF 67, 15 in league play for NXM, 8 in the FA Cup and more in less-competitive settings. Quite grifty actually. Military career classified.
Typical bench
11 GK Ditch Weed*, 28N. Revolucion (MSD). Comes on for penalties, their favorite part of any match. An adrenaline fiend who loves kicking and saving penalties in any context. Solid with the ball. Certain to move to a League 1 side.
13 FB Vesper Califas, 27N. Sea Dome University (MSD). Clean ball handler and punishing tackler. Considered a useful but disturbing personality in MSD. Majoring in Military History and often talks mates' ears off about strategy and weapons.
14 CB Slani Slani, 28M. Black Star PC (MSD), League 3 of SPL. Full voting member of the so-named libertarian (left) policlub, a faction with outsize influence on the PFM's constitution and FP. Slani was originally apellated for being a glory hound on the pitch. A defender with a forehead for goal, they can be grifty and as such are absolutely certain to leave for a better side (almost any club in the world)
15 CB Hock Palisade*, 31F. Dome City Raiders (MSD). Rumored to get some starts in BCC and AOCAF. Sister of Ham. A cerebral but stout and physical player, Hock is a communicative back often used as a defensive sub for DCR. Was a Navy exolinguist during the war and continues to pick up an amazing number of languages. Raiders #3 in SDFA, #4 in SPL overall. Tied for 4th-best defense in an extremely stingy league. Will play in CC and RSC.
16 FB Kingfisher Lark*, 26N. Misfits FC (MSD). An often smirking, borderline narcissistic sprinter who loves to come in late and work some poor defender half to death, then come back and stop a shot. Dramatic personality is popular and entertaining but has obvious potential downsides. However, playing and fighting alongside much older squadmates has imbued a quantum of respect and composure. Where the relatively young Matrian man goes from here is anybody's guess.
17 HM Roll Tumbles*, 30N. Chigul Stampede (MSD), League 2 and ranked 11th in SDFA after a strong schedule (but finished 3rd in the FA Cup). Roll was a human lab rat for the slow aging juice during the war, and they've been on the stuff for longer than anyone else. Getting more and more playing time as he evolves into a sort of proto field commander. Expects to play at least 20 more years.
18 HM Princess* Randle, 29F. The Federation (MSD), League 2. Formerly FSC, before Princess was born. Distinguished marskman and explosives technician in her Navy career, did not shoot, but killed and was shot at.
19 CM Rectified Hamlet*, 28N. Upper Dome FC (MSD). Scored 21 goals in league and cup, and 2 in Dome friendlies. Takes full advantage of Xiu's inverted formation, staying high on the pitch and sometimes hurting people. Loves to clean up a messy situation in front of goal.
20 AM Tame Peace*, 27N. Archipelago FC (MSD). Often involved late and scored 9 league and 6 cup goals. Exquisite training and dietary regimen but hasn't had the chance to put their mark on international affairs yet. They were a coffee technician for the Coast Guard during the war, which was actually a dangerous post since keeping supply lines maintained was a little war in itself. Don't let the name fool you either.
21 RM Naomi Rushmore, 26F. Sea Dome University (MSD). Expects to come off the bench in this cycle of tournaments. Held the line and applied a high degree of creative thought and technical mastery to both playmaking and keepaway (which both come up a lot for SDU). Has graduated in Art History after a classified career in Marine "accounting".
22 ST Vray Gwnes, 29M. Red Star PC (MSD), League 2. Saw frequent use in AOCAF 67 in late game desperation. Scored 15 for Red Star in league play after the war, and 5 in the FA Cup, many on penalties. He has been perfect in PKs in non-competitive action for the Lemon Sharks. Dual MSD/SD ComIntern citizen; was a Communist Naval Lieutenant in the war and has a tendency to babble on about ships and fires and victory.
23 GK Strong May Crumble, 27F. Sea Dome University (MSD). Just graduated in Economics. May start some games. Athletic and good on the ball but not as accomplished on PKs.
RP NOTES: the Supermassive Sea Dome is a post-cyberpunk setting, not urban fantasy, sci fi, futurism, or etc.
Please feel free to pick starters and scorers according to your whims, this is a light and fun tournament where not everyone will RP their own games anyway.
No sadistic cruelty. Otherwise go nuts as long as there is a reasonable scientific explanation
Keep in mind MSD has access to some of CC1's supermedicine and other drugs, so injuries should generally not keep Lemon Sharks down for too long.
If you RP smuggling something out of the Dome with CC1's help, your nation (with your permission) or CC1 or both may face reprisals.

About the Manager

Shane Newman is a Baker Park born, who took the chance to become the first NT boss for Havynwilde with an understanding that he would have time & resources to build from scratch. He was hounded by negative media coverage, the unrealisitc expectations of supporters & the governing body, and no investment to correct the dearth of talent in the domestic league. He was unceremoniously fired while out of the country on holiday. He'll consider his time there a learning experience. Was the chief defensive architect for the BPNT in the first three WC cycles.Aged 49 and married with three children--a boy and two girls--he will look to the domestic league for talent by focusing on technique, pace, and positional flexibility.

The Playing XI

#1 Jahangir Shehzad (Goalkeeper)
the twenty two year old goalkeeper Jahangir Shehzad. Who's been always in the bench waiting for their debut match. Jahangir Shehzad is a familiar face to all those who used to follow the Youth football tournaments in Indusse. Jahangir also was a tough contender for Liga Prime's (Indusse's Division One Football League) Golden Gloves. Jahangir was born in the city of Shahzalabad, located seventy six kilometres north of Riveria. He started his career for his school team and then got into the famous college team belonging to Mir Azmal College of Physical Sciences (MACPS). His performance for his college team got him into Sindvpore FC and later to Southbay Riveria FC. Currently, Jahangir is the goalkeeper for Southbay Riveria FC and had replaced Steve in the last season.

#91 Mark Millwood (Defender)
Mark Millwood was born in the town of Parvanaghattapura, in the outskirts of the national capital region of New Hind City. He started his soccer career at the age of twelve where he started playing for his school team and a local football club known as Saviours XI Parvanaghattapura. He later joined the Kala Bharati University Campus and got into the Kala Bharati Campus Team. His excellent performance in the campus team brought him his ticket to New Hind City FC Youth and later to the national team camp. He was later bought by Rockies International Youth and currently plays for Rockies International FC in Indusse's First division league, Liga Prime.

#6 Jonathan Krege (Defender)
Jonathan Krege was born in the city of New Hind City to the business tycoon Friedrich Krege and is the rightful heir to Krege Industries, a well known multinational giant. Jonathan started his career by playing for his school teams and then for the Kala Bharati Campus Team alongside Mark Millwood. His performance in Kala Bharati team got him into Rockies International Youth and later to Neagra FC Youth. He had to quit Neagra FC Youth due to issues regarding his pay and was left in the transfer market as a free agent until he was bought by Cheralam Masters Youth. His career in Cheralam was short lived and at the age of nineteen he was bought by Salingam United FC. From then his performance improved to an extraordinary level where he was invited to play for the National Youth Team. His performance in the Nationals as well as for Salingam have brought him the ticket to the national team.

#13 Mathias Paulson (Defender)
Mathias Paulson born to a wealthy Syrian Christian family in Southbay. He wasn't a soccer maniac or something, who would have started playing for clubs before teenage. He started playing at the age of fifteen for several local clubs including his school and college clubs. After this Sport Medicine graduation from Saint Louis Holiness College in Jawaruyah, he got a mail from the Jawaruyah XI FC for being a defence and fitness co trainer. With his outmost hardwork in the game, he soon won a lot of awards and got a call from Rockies International FC for being their defender. He soon left Jawaruyah for Rockies Islands, it was his perfect defending which let the club rise from Division to to Primary Division tournament Liga Prime. The Team reached top three of the primary division tournament after his arrival and he also received a lot of awards for his play. With his arrival in Liga Prime and as a successor to former Rockies Defender Maryland Bruno (Maryland is his nickname because he used to run a cookie brand called Maryland Food), he got into the radar of National team selectors. He later got the call of the selectors to join the national team camp which was the turnover in his career. He soon became a well known defender in the nation and the captain of Rockies International FC.

#4 Manu Nair (Defender)
Manu Nair, born as Mannankatt Raman Manu Nair in the city of Salingam is a nineteen year old youth product of the national youth team. He started his career playing for his school team and a local football team known as Dairagiri FC. His performance in Dairagiri FC got him into Salingam United FC Youth in the age of sixteen and when he got to be eighteen years old, he was officially added to the Liga Prime Transfer Market and was bought by Southbay Riveria FC and is currently getting trained to be a permanent member of the club's defence. Manu's excellent performance in the national selection camp has ensured his spot in the national team even though they're a rookie to professional football.

#76 Mahadev Bhattacharya (Mid Fielder)
Mahadev Bhattacharya is a twenty four year old who was born in Indraprastha to Kailashnath Bhattacharya, the Indussean coaching maestro who is known for his coaching of erstwhile Royal Hind City FC (Currently, New Hind City FC), Indussean Women's Team and also coaching the Palm Island Club, Palingh Rovers FC. Since his father was literally a well known soccer coach he was brought into the path of soccer at a very young age. He started to chase his soccer dreams at the age of six where he was enrolled into a local football coaching center which had weekly coaching classes by his father. Gaining basic coaching at the center, he got into the school team and later to his college team. His performance for the school team, got him a ticket to join the local football giants, Maharajas FC. His performance got him a seat in the Maharajas College where he pursued his bachelor degree. Maharajas FC shaped his career, where he was brought by Sindvpore FC to play for their youth team and later for the senior team. His performance for Maharajas FC had already put him in the books of the selectors and his extraordinary performance for Sindvpore helping them to win the FFI Confederations Trophy and FFI League of Victors opened his way to the national camp.

#14 Djetson Hazle (Mid Fielder)
Born as Djetson Hazlett to Dr. Henry Hazlett and Maria Henry in Sindvpore, Djetson change his surname at the age of sixteen to Hazle for joining film industry since there was a prominent star "Philip Hazlett" existing. He couldn't do much in the film industry, which changed his route into football. He played for the national U-18 team due to his absolutely commendable performance for his club Sindvpore FC. His performance also brought him into the national team and got himself as.a key player. He still plays for Sindvpore FC and took part in the Championship of FFI. He is married to Katherine Hazlett, daughter of film star Philip Hazlett. Katherine is also a prominent film star in Indusse. Hazle also took part in futsal and also tried a hand in hockey. But he later realised that he was made for professional soccer.

#12 Rahul B Kumar (Forward)
Rahul B Kumar was born to the legendary soccer star, Baskar H Kumar as his only child in Derasar, Hind. Derasar is an offshore resort island owned by Baskar Kumar and David Beckem. Rahul was born to him when he and his wife was spending their vacation in Derasar. Rahul was send to Valley Bound International School in New Hind City to complete his primary education. At the age of 8, he got himself in the school's junior team and his performance got him to be the captain and at age of 12 as the School team's captain. Just like his father, Rahul took the path to be a striker and sharpshooter. At the age of 15, he got to be part of Hind City FC's B Team and also the Under-16 National Team. His colleague Goblin Grundjee got themselves to the national team. His performance for the under-16s and 19s brought them to the spotlight making way to the national team. They currently play for Neagra FC in the Liga Prime and at the same time they're taking BTech in Sanātana Dharma College, Hind City.

#7 Bechun Butea (Forward)
Once the best substitute to Baskar Kumar, now he faces a lot of competition from his fellow mates out there.Born to the family of footballers, Bechun didn't face any difficulty to choose his career. At the age of seven, his father admitted him to a local coaching center and with the basic skills got him into the Sindvpore Football Federation Training Center. Bechun's father was Takawilaka Butea, who got elected as the President of Sindvpore Football Federation. Bechun played his first professional match for Sindvpore FC and got transferred into Southbay Riveria FC. He later scored a lot of Goals opening his way to the national camp. He played as a captain substitute and vice captain of the national team and captain of Southbay Riveria FC until Baskar Kumar joined. He also played a major role in the Goblin Humanoid Project which created Goblin Grundjee, who's the first non human national player in Indusse. A football goblin was Bechun's idea. He also got the National Sports Academy Mentor post and is currently the cheif mentor of U-18 national team. His brother, Lalguvasara is the coach of Malta FC and his son Jackson Butea is playing for Sindvpore FC under 18 team.

#11 Antonio Mersiás (Forward)
The second youngest recruit in the camp, Antonio Mersiás is a well known youth idol in the nation. He was the captain of Indussean youth team in the Sporting World Cup. He led the team into the semi finals of the tournament till they lost to Starblaydia's young guns. He was born in Karadawadi, a county in Dhalopura to Francis Antony, who was a carpenter and Selina Francis. He lived as a poor kid going to the village school who wasn't so good at academics but bright in sports. His quality sporting skills caught the eyes of the headmaster there, who admitted him to the local football training sessions. The headmaster soon send him to the Jawal-Biesse the nearest city for his studies. He played for the Jawal-Biesse FC for three years and captained the team until he was called to play for the Dhalopura FC. He got selected to the U-18 team as soon as he played his first match for Dhalopura FC. His quality play in the club also got him promoted as the captain of the youth team. His awesome, historical performance for the youth team got him a quick ticket to the National Team Camp. He is currently an important part of the national team who cannot be replaced easily.

#100 Goblin Grundjee (Forward)
Goblin Grundjee who is the first ever non-human sportsperson from Indusse. The Grundjee's are one of the families of the Goblin species that was created by the scientists by DNA Modelling. The scientists created a new race of Goblins through gene editing and combining the DNAs of Humans with certain animals and Algae. The goblin species were divided into three families were Grundjees are one of the major part. The other two families are called Mithys and Auris. The current members of the grundjee family is Colonel Grundjee who is a Colonel in the royal army of Indusse. The gene of colonel Grundjee was created by merging the genes of three colonels of the army with the genes of a eagle and the green algae. The green algae plays a necessary role in getting the green Color of the skin. The other member is Goblin Grundjee who is currently playing for the juniors. His gene was created by merging the genes of David Bekem, a former football and of a wild horse. The green algae is also a necessary part of the composition. The grundjee family has the green composition of skins due to green algae. Whereas, Mithys has a brownish red skin due to the presence of Blue-green Algae with Iron sediments, Auris family has the skin Color of a normal human as there isn't any presence of algae. The skin textures and patterns of the goblins are same as the humans and the color is the only thing that can discriminate it with humans. The scientific community believe that the goblin race will create revolution in the world of science. The creation of Goblin Grundjee was overseen by fellow player Bechun Butea who also played a major role in bringing Grundjee as a experimental player. Well, Grundjee is currently one of the best strikers the nation has seen.

Home Ground

The Aditya Varma Kulashekara International Stadium, is home to the Flocking Blues and is the largest sports stadium in the nation. The Aditya Varma Kulashekara International Stadium can hold 131,561 spectators in normal cases. The most attendance recorded for an event in the stadium was 148,241 spectators. This historical event happened long before the current stadium had been built. The former stadium known as IFA International Stadium had just a capacity of 108,112 and the event was the Sworn-in of Baskar H Kumar as the first president of the Indusse. In other words, the sworn in was also the same as the nation's independence day. The most spectators for a match was recorded as 118,232 spectators for a match between Indusse and Pratapgadh which was once a derby match.
Image

This Stadium was built first by Aditya Varma Kulashekara, the emperor of Indusse at his reign. The stadium was built as part of giving the Indussean Football Association, a home ground. The Stadium at its beginning had a capacity of 62,122 spectators and was later increased to 97,783. The Stadium also in the past hosted the home matches of Royal Hind City FC (Currently, New Hind City FC) and Hind United FC (Currently dissolved). The Hind United FC got dissolved into Royal Hind City FC and the club through enough funding brought some land near the Darbar Halls and built a stadium there which currently serves as their home ground and the nation's secondary home ground. The IFA Stadium was built close to the Hind River and was surrounded by small forests. The place then known to be Kadaathaaaru was chosen for the stadium, the name literally meant to be "Forest River". The stadium continued to host the nation's home matches until the IFA was disbanded after the invasion of the Islamic Conquerors. The Dari Sultanate rulers took over the nation and placed a ban on all sort of native entertainment including music and sports. The stadium was taken under the custody of the Dari Military and was converted into a arena to propagate Dari Propoganda. The Stadium was renamed as Neimat Abdullah Arena and the capacity was increased to 108,112. The Neimat Abdullah Arena also became the public execution grounds of Natives in Indusse. The Dari Supressed Native Freedom Fighters were beheaded, hanged and shot dead at these grounds. After the Independence, the stadium was renamed as IFA Stadium and held the nation's first independence day celebrations. After a few years, it was renamed to Aditya Varma Kulashekara International Stadium and the capacity was increased to 131,561. The Government then also decided to set up a monument for the natives who were killed by the supression. The Divya Azadi Stambh (Divine Freedom Pillar) located in the stadium complex is the so called monument. This Pillar is an important part of the nation's independence day celebrations.

Zug um Zug is a recognized puppet state of Zwangzug, founded when the latter nation became "old enough to have its own account," whatever that means. It is unclear if they represent a serious geopolitical entity, a computer simulation run by bored teenagers posting train memes, or something in between. At least they have a colorful set of club names, though.

The team is all-female, and extremely defensive. Within each position, players are listed in rough priority order, but this isn't strict. Home stadium is the Colossal Arena, located in Snelling.

(Astute minds may note that this is the exact same team from World Cup 89, except that two players have moved to the Græntfjall league, which nominally-sort of-kind of exists. Puppets are good for that sort of thing. Train delays, what you gonna do?)

Goalkeepers:
Stephanie Guthrie (Duluth Wanderers) - captain
Ellie Banker (L'Enfant Rainbows)
Grace Spalding (Addison Reds)

Defenders:
Simone Guedira (Cluny Bronzes)
Crystal Langley (Estdal, GRF)
Dindrane Emrys (Avalon Greens)
Adrienne Armstrong (Snelling Warriors)
Jacquelyn Queneau (Montparnasse Jeunes)
Shirley Gibson (Anacostia Greens)
Billye Steinfeldt (Addison Reds)
Marie Clavel (Cluny Bronzes)
Kiri Ouilme (Davis Purples)
Dorothy Deacon (Gallaudet Reds)

Midfielders:
Euphrasie Gauvain (Montparnasse Jeunes)
Noriko Scialfa (Fliserboding, GRF)
Phyllis Gonzalez (Davis Purples)
Zhora Sepulveda (Westwood Cyans)
Lori Lehrer (Wabash Loopers)
Morgana Titan (Avalon Greens)
Andrea Rainier (Anacostia Greens)
Caitlin Little (Gallaudet Reds)

Forwards:
Josie Chadwick (Westwood Cyans)
Susan Nokomis (Snelling Warriors)
Sally Albert (Wabash Loopers)

If you RP first--anything goes, though I'd rather you not cause lasting harm to my players/in my country without running it by me first. But this is a silly puppet, so feel free to be absurd.

A random person entered to the offices of the Brevity Challenge Cup organisers to provide them with an envelope, there was a note with a list of 25 players inside of it, with basic data of them and also a little information of what they do in their daily lives.

The person, who argued to be a representative of the Huayramarcan Football Federation left the place and laughed after it, his plan was working well and nobody would suspect it, he thinks.

25 random people, from all different walks of life, from criminals to professionals who haven't seen to each other in their lives, without knowing what they do, a complete surprise in the list of players to field in the Brevity Cup. Their style is offensive (+5), they can go for everything in a football match, they just want to win no matter what.

SEMARLAND NATIONAL FOOTBALL TEAM, OFFICIAL 6th BREVITY CUP SQUAD

NATIONAL STADIUM - Natunolstadion, Jansberg, 86,000

Kits kindly manufactured by VUCTI Kits

Back again. After twelve years away, the SFA are proud to present Semarland's return to the multiverse and what better way to kick it off with a double-bill of tournaments. As fans across the country know, preparations will begin with the Brevity Cup before their debut in the CAFA Cup - an exciting time indeed! The SFA have selected Cortell Carrasco as the man to lead Semarland forward, and fans await tentatively to see whether he can bring his club success to the international stage. For what it's worth, Semarland have been away from all forms of international competition for the past 12 (IC) years now. A long time, and it is more than fair to say the levels and standards as such have decreased during that period of time. The 23 players you see below are the best of the best in the league no doubt - but bear in mind the lack of international competition, both from IFCF entry and foreign players competing for places, the league is not what it used to be. The SFA are aware, the fans are aware, and the players and staff themselves are aware. Hopes aren't high, but they're bound to have fun and enjoy themselves as they look to make their mark again on the international stage, and maybe exceed what heights they once had many years ago. Without further ado, let's look at the team:

STAFF:
Manager: Cortell Carrasco, 63
Plucked from Sporting Saint Adrensburg by the SFA, Cortell Carrasco has been one of the league's most successful managers over the last twelve years. With just the one league title to his name, some may think he wasn't the best choice, but his long-term transformation of SSA has been truly remarkable. One for long-term results rather than short-term, it's fair to say the SFA don't have the highest of hopes as Semarland make their return to international football. Entering the Brevity Cup as a warm-up just before the CAFA, at the time of writing, we're yet to see Carrasco's Semarland play as a team just yet with the tournament expected to kick off in the coming days. That, the CAFA and the next World Cup are the first steps though in a new age (how many times have we said that now...) and millions of fans will be hoping the SFA avoid any more administrative cock-ups and Semarland can try and get where they used to be (getting knocked out at the group stage of the World Cup!) - maybe they'll get one better and make the Round of 16. One day. Anyway. Back to Carrasco - a talented tactical mind who happens to be a close friend of his predecessor Kadell Stevens who reportedly nominated him for the job. Expect attractive football - not as high-pace as Stevens, but still nice enough to watch with a focus on defence as much as attack, a nice balance. Oh, and he's brought his entire SSA backroom with him as well, so if someone's going to enjoy this, it's the SSA fans...

Assistant manager: Devonte Northfield, 47
SSA legend who never really got to make his mark for Semarland internationally - Devonte Northfield was quite unlucky given he was actually half-decent as a player and he had a lot of talent ahead of him. But he made his mark for his club, which led to him getting a job as coach within the youth team - and you know the story. He rose through the staffing ranks the same way he did in the playing ranks and wound up assistant manager to Carrasco after the retirement of his previous assistant Martin Etienne. Developing his tactical mind through Carrasco's mentorship, many were hoping he'd take up the reigns at SSA rather than join the rest of the backroom team, he didn't want to pass up the opportunity to represent his country in the dugout.

First team coaches: Marcos Sevenoaks, 45 and Cyrone Eastwood, 37
Two players (also SSA legends, if you notice the recurring theme) who did get to make their mark for Semarland internationally. Marcos Sevenoaks was a powerful winger with a thunderous left boot and Cyrone Eastwood was a midfielder who was one of those midfielders who did the job and made things tick without everyone else really clocking what they were doing, but being aware...if that makes sense? Anyway, they're not bad coaches - not as good as they were players, mind, but Carrasco trusts them enough to come with him to the big stage. They might not have as much tactical input as Northfield does, but we're sure they'll throw a piece of advice in or too. Their experience as regular-ish internationals, something that Carrasco and Northfield lack, will come in handy too, especially considering none of these players have pulled on the Semarland shirt before.

Goalkeeping coach: Devane Marylebone, 51
The last of the legends (God, anyone would think the SFA were raging SSA ultras or something...) and like Sevenoaks & Eastwood, a pretty decent player for club and country. Might have been too old for the league title win, he played his part as goalkeeping coach and had earned his name in SSA legacy as a player beforehand anyway. We could write loads more waffle about his abilities as a goalkeeping coach, but we won't bore you - he does his job well and will no doubt pass on his experience well.

Fitness coach: Boscoe Baywood, 60
Physio: Maxwell Eirsen, 42
Okay, we can't really call these guys "legends", they never even played professionally, let alone for Semarland. Or SSA for that matter? Unless the 5-a-side league counts. But in seriousness they're good at their job. SSA rarely struggled with injuries during Carrasco's time as manager, and that was thanks to the training regimes and medcial attention of Boscoe Baywood and Maxwell Eirsen respectively. Hopefully Semarland won't struggle with injuries like they used to way back when. We might allow ourselves to get our hopes up...

PLAYERS:
#1 - GK - Matthias Baxter - Age 33 - FC Nuholm
A safe pair of hands, Matthias Baxter has been a regular fixture week in week out between the posts at Nuholm for the best part of thirteen years now. A solid shot stopper with a knack for saving penalties, his distribution isn't what it used to be and he feels he's in the twilight of his playing career. Nonetheless, he's ready to give his all for the shirt and pass on his guidance to the two younger goalkeepers that join him in the squad. Whilst like everyone else, he has zero experience of international football - he's one of the most experienced players in the Premarligaen so that's got to count for something. Earmarked as a future goalkeeping coach for club and maybe country.

#2 - DR - Karl Kvist - Age 24 - Krsthaven
A dependable and well-liked member of the squad, Karl Kvist is a terrier-like full-back who is resilient uncompromising in the tackle. Released by FC Nuholm at a young age, he bounced back by ended up moving to Krsthaven aged 18 and worked in the postal sector for a year whilst playing part-time in the lower leagues for East Krsthaven United before earning a trial at Krsthaven. Breaking through into the first-team four years ago, he made his way to vice-captain and earned both the fans and players' player of the year award two years in a row. Has great positional sense and can also fill in at defensive midfield if required.

#3 - DL - Andre Driscoll-Glennon - Age 26 - FC Kolberg
The sole representation from FC Kolberg in the squad, Andre Driscoll-Glennon was converted into a left-back from a left-winger seven years ago and hasn't looked back. Capable of making surging, driving runs forward but a bit rough in the tackle sometimes, he has worked extremely hard to recover after a nasty injury two years ago. His performances in the league show why he's earned the #3 shirt for the national team, and he is a beloved and a consistent member of a Kolberg squad that many see as far from the team they used to be, which has put him on the radar of bigger and better clubs in the division.

#4 - DC - Gael Larsen - Age 25 - Krsthaven
The other half of the right half of Krsthaven's defence, Gael Larsen's commanding performances at the back for Krsthaven earned the interest of several other Premarligaen clubs, but the boyhood Krsthaven fan has stayed loyal and played a key part in their title-winning campaign. Assured on the ball with a good eye for a pass, he's the type of "modern-day" centre-back that looks to start attacking plays from inside his own half, whilst remaining fearless in the tackle. He can get a little bit too fearless though, and was no stranger to a yellow card last season.

#5 - DC - Shone Andrews - Age 34 - Eikborg Club (c)
The most experienced in the team, Shone Andrews broke through into Eikborg Club's side at a young age and was on standby for the national team last time they entered the AOCAF all those years ago. Able to play in a back two or three on either side, he is a natural leader and the perfect candidate to lead the country back into their return to international competitions. It's expected that after the next World Cup cycle he'll retire or at least take on a bit-part playing role as other centre-backs are nurtured into the side, but having him around the team is a huge bonus and no doubt he will pass on vital experience to the youngsters. Still got it at age 34, many Premarligaen attackers found him difficult to get past last season.

#6 - DMC - Rameses Kristoffersen - Age 24 - Molsbik Arkjet
Younger brother of one of the greatest (if not the best) players to never get the chance to wear the national team shirt in Saxon Kristoffersen, Rameses is a player of a similar vein to his older brother. The young Molsbik Arkjet captain has been dictating the play from defensive midfield for the last eight seasons but is another who has struggled with injuries of late. On his day, he is the jewel in the proverbial midfield crown, but if he's not feeling himself, he'll go missing. Should he work on his confidence and not let the fear of injury get in the way, he'll be a regular fixture for years to come - he definitely has the ability based on his club displays.

#7 - AMR - Kyrone Paris - Age 25 - Sporting Saint Adrensburg
Although not the fastest winger of all time, Kyrone Paris is the type to twist and turn his way past opposition defences with comfortable ease. SSA's star player for the last few years now, fans have been kept on the edge of their seats by his displays. With a high number of chances created, he was unlucky that SSA didn't quite have the season they deserved to on paper and it's rumoured he may be tempted by a move away. If he can add goals to his game on a consistent basis, he'll become even more a threat to opposition defences and a key member of the team.

#8 - MC - Jamal Barker - Age 25 - Krsthaven (vc)
Beloved Krsthaven captain Jamal Barker was whisked away from FC York as a 14 year old and worked his way up through the academy, making his debut at 17 and being a fixture in the team ever since, earning the captaincy three years later. With a heart of a lion, he never stops running on the pitch and he's the type to cover every blade of grass or die trying. The true definition of a box-to-box midfielder with a penchant for arriving in the box late and firing home, he was the highest scoring midfielder in the Premarligaen last season and his goals played a huge part in Krsthaven's title winning campaign last season.

#9 - ST - Loick Sorensen - Age 25 - FC Jansberg
Top scorer in the league last season, Loick Sorensen was incredibly unlucky to not lead FC Jansberg to the title as they missed out by just a thread. For years now, FC Jansberg have been waiting for a proven striker who has risen through the academy after the likes of Marc Lygaard and Kwame Nelson - and now Sorensen seems to be that player. Always at the top end of the goalscoring charts, fans are sure he's the complete, one-in-a-generation forward to lead the line and it's not just the Jansberg supporters who are excited to see him on the field.

#10 - AMC - Chevone Clarke - Age 23 - FC Nuholm
Diminutive playmaker who created the most chances in the Premarligaen last season, Chevone Clarke is another highly sought after individual. Everyone knows he'd cause serious damage in a team like Krsthaven or FC Jansberg who have a proven finisher, but unfortunately for Nuholm their rotation of strikers didn't offer the same calibre of firepower as Clarke's new international teammates. He has played with Loick Sorensen before when he was loaned out to FC Nuholm five years ago and they impressed then, so those that remember will be looking forward to see the two on the pitch again.

#11 - AML - D'Jean Hamilton - Age 22 - FC Jansberg
Younger half-brother of former FC Jansberg and Semarland winger Tyae, D'Jean Hamilton is similar to him in terms of temperament, playing style and ability - just on the opposite flank. A real livewire, Hamilton is known to test the patience of his managers sometimes but always gets back in the good book with his performances on the pitch. Still only quite young at 22, if he focuses and knuckles down he will no doubt go onto be one of the country's greatest players. In a similar playing mould to that of Clarke and Paris, the front three will be a joy to watch with flair reminiscent of the "good old days".

#12 - GK - Russell Boakye-Yiadom - Age 20 - FC Jansberg
The relations continue - meet Russell Boakye-Yiadom, son of former national team and FC Jansberg goalkeeper Kojo and the youngest goalkeeper in the Premarligaen last season - and for 2nd place FC Jansberg too. An athletic, acrobatic custodian very much in the mould of his dad, he's surprisingly nimble for someone of his height and boasts a very long and accurate throw. Very much one for the future, he'll hope to learn from the likes of Matthias Baxter and has his eyes firmly rooted on the #1 shirt for future. For now, he'll hope to kick on and get some playing time this tournament, and hopefully help FC Jansberg win the league next year.

#13 - GK - Gaetano Jorgensen - Age 26 - Kangemark Sport
Popular and lively member of the squad who was one of the Premarligaen's best goalkeepers last season, Gaetano Jorgensen was a key component in a Kangemark Sport side that finished 7th place in the league. Boasts accurate distribution from both long throws and goal kicks, and can command his defense well. Despite the fact he may not see much that game time ahead of both Baxter and Boakye-Yiadom, Semarland would be hard pressed to find a better third choice options in case things went south in the goalkeeping department.

#14 - MC - Lyrone Eastwood - Age 27 - Sporting Saint Adrensburg
Only the second player that Cortell Carrasco brings with him from Sporting Saint Adrensburg, club captain Lyrone Eastwood is literally a carbon copy of his older brother Cyrone (a member of the last Semarland team that took part in international competition). Tall, powerful and does just about everything you want a midfielder to do, he may not stand out as much on the pitch as his peers but he certainly gets the job done without much fuss and fanfare. A reliable member of the squad who may not necessarily be a key member on the pitch as much as he'd like, but a great person to have in the dressing room.

#15 - ST - Johan Larsen - Age 29 - Eikborg Club
A target man if there ever was one, Johan Larsen is the sort of man you'd want your crosses to end up on. A threat in the box from set pieces, the 6'6 Larsen scored a record number of headed goals for Eikborg Club last season. He's not bad at holding the ball up either, but he'll be the first to admit his style of play isn't the sort that would generally go with Cortell Carrasco's style of play. Nevertheless, he'll be itching to get on from the bench should things get awry and a change-up be needed, and no doubt he'll be willing to play in a front two with either one of Sorensen or Christie.

#16 - ST - Gennaro Christie - Age 26 - Krsthaven
Gennaro "Mr. Suave" Christie is living the dream. Literally. When he's not scoring goals for fun for Krsthaven, taking part in the neck-and-neck competition for top goalscorer with his friendly rival Loick Sorensen of FC Jansberg, he also manages to find the time for a music career as well? We're not sure if he'll have as much time for that now Semarland are back and ready to make their claim in Anaian international football...but we're sure that he's the most likely to gain attention for his off the pitch exploits as well as his performances on it. A talented and dependable goalscorer who will no doubt be able to fill in for Sorensen if required.

#17 - DMC - Byron Mandanda - Age 20 - FC Jansberg
One of the younger members of the squad, Byron Mandanda has been a non-stop battling man of steel in the FC Jansberg midfield for the last three years. Less experience than the rest of the midfielders perhaps, but if you'd never seen him play before, you wouldn't think it. Still rough around the edges in fairness, he's far from the finished article - but many predict he'll be set to be a fixture of the midfield for years to come internationally. For now he's just looking forward to gaining the experience, and his always-positive attitude will help him just do that.

#18 - DC - Kortney Delaware - Age 21 - Eikborg Club
Another for the future, Kortney Delaware has come on leaps and bounds over the last few years and it's easy to see why, having spent time learning from club legend Shone Andrews (plus former past generation heroes such as Kadeem Bailey-Foster and Courtney Simms). Mature beyond his years with a cool head in the most difficult situations, he will no doubt take the captaincy for his club upon Andrews' retirement, and with the likes of Boakye-Yiadom, Mandanda & Melbourne, many see him as a long-term prospect who will be a member of the team for years to come.

#19 - DR - Tyrique Ritchie - Age 25 - FC Jansberg
Frighteningly fast wing-back Tyrique Ritchie is the final member of the FC Jansberg squad to earn a call up. Probably the fastest player on the team, his attacking tendencies and general wing-back play make him more likely to be an option off the bench should the team need a bit more going forward. Excels when it comes to crossing and has the strength to get past players, but comes second to Karl Kvist when it comes to the defensive side - only just.

#20 - AMC - Hakim Masters - Age 26 - Eikborg Club
Boasting a low-centre of gravity, a knack of scoring from free kicks and the ability to slalom his way past defenders, to the untrained eye Hakim Masters would find himself unlucky to be beaten to the #10 shirt. For those not an expert on Semar domestic football however, he only has one season's worth of experience of top flight football. Signed from 2Ligaen's BT Klub at the beginning of last season, he impressed for someone with no prior top flight experience and goes into the 2050/51 campaign as one of they key players for Eric Nti-Bonso's side. Not quite nailed his consistency just yet, he was a bit of a shock inclusion but the ability is definitely there. To be used as a bit of a wildcard option off the bench.

#21 - DL - Ecuador Sorensen - Age 23 - FC Nuholm
Smooth on the ball, strong in the tackle, and the gameplaying intelligence of a creative #10 to match, Ecuador Sorensen is a delightful option to have at full back. Going into the tournament with a knock sustained at the end of last season, if fully fit he'd probably have the #3 shirt over Andre Driscoll-Glennon, and he will be relishing the challenge to work hard and claim the starting spot as his own. Not as fast as the average full-back, you're more likely to see him cutting into midfield and playing a delightful through-ball than running down the wing and getting crosses in the box.

#22 - DC - Pascal Melbourne - Age 22 - FC Nuholm
Another young talent emerging out of the FC Nuholm academy, Pascal Melbourne boasts a similar style of play to his left-sided partner Ecuador Sorensen. With the ability to bring the ball out of defence with such confidence that you'd expect from a seasoned player, it's hard to believe Melbourne is only 22. Strong in physique and assured on the ball, he has been a fan favourite at FC Nuholm for a while now with his commanding, marshall-like displays endearing him to many. Reminds the fans of former Nuholm and Semarland captain Martell Chalobah and it's easy to see why on the pitch.

#23 - MC - Johan Chevron - Age 25 - Krsthaven
Despite his slight frame, Johan Chevron is a neat and tidy midfielder who keeps things ticking over. A smooth passer of the ball who makes things happen, he led the assist charts for Krsthaven last season and is a wonderful compliment to his club midfield partner Jamal Barker's more energetic approach. On the sidelines for now due to a slight knock, he will have tough competition upon his return in the likes of Kristoffersen and Mandanda to partner his club teammate in midfield on the international stage.

DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF ABANHFLEFT
NATIONAL ASSOCIATION FOOTBALL TEAM - MEN'S

Something strange has happened in Abanhfleft, at least as far as its football-playing population was concerned. One day they woke up and realized that time had gone back for them by three years. Only people who had been playing football were affected by this, however; as far as they could tell, everyone else who isn't a football player in Abanhfleft was not affected by this time "reversal," or whatever it actually is supposed to be. Everyone in the national team is younger by three years but they all have memories of what happened in those three years that they have now "lost." They all remember the pain and heartbreak of numerous failures that now, apparently, never happened at all. Will the team use that experience to make sure that things turn out differently this time or are they about to find out that they've been hit by a "groundhog day loop" curse?

BASIC INFORMATION
Name of nation: Democratic Republic of Abanhfleft
Demonym: Fleftic
Team colors: Blue, orange, and green
Style modifier: +3
Formation: 4-2-3-1
Head coach: Levi Baak (62 y/o, Abanhfleft)

STARTERS
GK: Guildenstern CARDEW 30 y/o, Sporting Ceneisis Image, captain
Under Vaughn Palladino, Guildenstern Cardew has turned into the clear number one choice between the sticks for Sporting Ceneisis. He may not be the player who shipped the least goals in the Premier League this season but he stopped enough shots to help the Blues to their fourth FPL title. Now it's time for Guildy to do the same for the national team.

RB: Masakazu CHIBA 27 y/o, Riuwiee United Image
Masakazu Chiba is one of an ever-growing number of football players in the Democratic Republic who trace their lineage back to the Japanese nations such as Flardania and, in Masakazu's case, Aji No Moto. Although he was never capped for any of Abanhfleft's youth teams, Ranulph Bustamante is apparently convinced that Masakazu will be able to handle being a bench option for the senior national team for the current World Cup qualifiers. Chiba-san will now get the chance to show his stuff under Levi Baak.

RCB: APOLLOSCLEIYALI 33 y/o, Rosenpfelblatz City Image
Though he was brought into the Rosenpfelblatz City setup at the relatively young age of 16, Apolloscleiyali Rarlingson Crausileine still plays with that curious mix of Daineri and Sunrisian street football. The Citizens may not have been consistent challengers for the title ever since Abanhfleft integrated into UICA and now IFCF, Apolloscleiyali remains one of the constants of this team, almost never putting a foot wrong. Because of this he was given Fleftic citizenship via the Alternative Football Program as a candidate for the Fleftic national team, but this is only the first time Apollo will actually represent the Revolutionaries, strangely enough.

LCB: Paco MATUNDAN 30 y/o, Xemlice Rovers Image
Paco Matundan must have thought his footballing career was over when he was released by Malabon SC following the Ravens' shock relegation from the FPL at the end of the 2025-26 season. Luckily a club from Greythrone called Air Force Superstar decided to take a chance on him, but sadly the club did little of note other than gaining promotion once before Greythrone itself collapsed into anarchy. Paco was only saved from falling into obscurity by a timely move to Xemlice Rovers where he has now settled down and made a name for himself, even if it is choking on title races.

LB: Caleb WAYNE 33 y/o, Wanda Island Wanderers Image
Another one of the generation of Fleftic defenders who also liked bombing up and down the wings who discovered that sticking to defending was actually what he does best. It was as a full-on left back that Caleb Wayne became instrumental in the Wanda Island Wanderers side that won the Fleftic Premier League in 2027-28, and is now one of the first names written down on Artemio Peres' starting eleven. Caleb also became the starting left back for Abanhfleft after Daisuke Ogigayatsu started putting in more time down the right side for Ludogorets Markovsky.

RM: Andor GAÁL 33 y/o, Malabon SC Image
Andor was one of those who stuck with Malabon after they were relegated and helped them get back up into the FPL after only one season in Unang Liga, but so far his only reward has been getting to play in the Challengers' Cup. Formation changes and new managers have turned him from a defensive midfielder to a right-sided one. He's still very much a box-to-box midfielder, but this does tend to leave his team a little short-changed in the middle of the park. He also became a dead-ball specialist during his time in the Fleftic second tier.

LM: James CARMICHAEL 30 y/o, Xemlice Rovers Image
James Carmichael is a Xemlice Rovers youth product who rose to significance after he stood in for Fabrosu Nyema during the 2028-29 season after the latter was injured. James does a little bit of everything here and there such as breaking up attacks in the middle of the pitch and pinging in those diagonal passes. He's usually well disciplined, but when he goes in for a tackle, boy does he go in for a tackle.

RW: Marcus TABAREZ 30 y/o, Arsenal de Releinthi Image
Without a doubt the most expensive Fleftic player of all time. Marcus Tabarez cost Arsenal de Releinthi a whopping 120 million new penenks (80 million NSD) just to get him from Xemlice Rovers. The start of Marcus' Gunners career was not the best, coinciding with one of the worst seasons in the club's history, but slowly Tabarez is starting to justify his hefty price tag. Last season may not have been the best for Arsenal as a club, but it was a good one for Tabarez, chipping in 20 goals and 13 assists. Ranulph Bustamante now hopes that Marcus can do the same for the national team.

CAM: Jayden SCHOLES 26 y/o, CSKA Tiraspol Image (Pridnestrovia)
Scholes is kind of a weird player: it looks like he has everything he could possibly want and need to succeed in playing football, but then and again there's an issue that pops up that seemingly puts a halt to all of that interesting potential. He could get injured one season and then go through disciplinary issues the next. Perhaps that's the reason why he's still kicking around in the Pridnestrovian Super League when almost any other player with the skillset that he has will have been sold to the FPL. Nevertheless, Levi Baak clearly sees something in him that the manager believes will be very helpful for the Revolutionaries in the long run. Hopefully it doesn't come at the cost of a more deserving player, but then that brings up an entirely different conundrum of who counts as a more deserving player. Sometimes, it really is hard being the manager of a national team.

LW: Arthur MacALISTAIR 33 y/o, Wanda Island Wanderers Image, vice-captain
Arthur finally completed the transition from midfielder to winger under Artemio Peres, and people are already saying it's the best move Arthur's ever done in his whole football career. Of course it helps that his first full season as a winger was also the season that Wanda Island Wanderers finally won the Fleftic Premier League. But MacAlistair's starting spot in the national team may no longer be as secure as before now that there's a new contender for the spot in the form of Riuwiee United's Elmo Bevan.

ST: Mustafa BENSOUSSAN 28 y/o, Bananas FC Image
Bananas may have been relegated from the Premier League, but if that's not making Mustafa turn his head then nothing probably will. The young man is dedicated to the cause of bringing Bananas right back up, but unlike some of the other sides to have been relegated from the league in previous seasons, Bananas don't look like they would be able to do it as quickly. Nevertheless, Mustafa is still scoring goals for fun, and will now fill in for the aging Kareem Dagen for the men's national team starting from this Independent Associations Championship.

RESERVES
GK: Howard ABAYAN 20 y/o, FC Effelenendro Image on loan from Riuwiee United Image

GK: Shaun SACE 19 y/o, Zenit Novograd Image on loan from Ludogorets Markovsky Image

RB: Antonio GALINDEZ 20 y/o, Pawwazim Image on loan from Sporting Ceneisis Image
Remember the time when Abanhfleft's fullbacks played more like wingbacks and were constantly bombing up and down the flanks of the pitch even when the formation had actual wingers in it? It would seem like Galindez's fullback training was in direct response to that, since while he definitely has the pace to become a wingback, the art of defending had been drilled so deeply into him that it really looks like it hurts him when he crosses the halfway line. It's strange, but apparently it works for him.

RCB: Ram WALIA 33 y/o, Sporting Ceneisis Image
Who would have thought that little Ram Walia from Hithamandhoo in the Trendstart Colony would become the first man from his island to win the Fleftic Premier League? Certainly not Ram himself. From humble beginnings at AFC Hithamandhoo, Ram made his way into the youth academy of Sporting Ceneisis, where it looked like he was going to go the way of the rest of the Blues' infamous "loan army" until he showed what he was capable of as first a substitute for Naftali Singerstein, and then later on as the Fhulghamousian international's replacement. There's a reason why Ceneisis finally won their fourth title this season, and one of those reasons is Ram Walia.

LCB: Kenneth OWOBOWALE 36 y/o, Rosenpfelblatz City Image
Another former national player brought back into the fold after a decade or so in the wilderness. Left-sided center backs seem to be a particular weakness of the Revolutionaries at the moment, and while there's a decent crop of those rising up the ranks of Fleftic clubs, at the moment Ranulph Bustamante apparently believes that Kenneth is the best out of this bunch.

LB: Vipin NAGARKAR 33 y/o, Admiral Porcusces Image
Vipin Nagarkar wasn't that well-known outside of Admiral fans when they were relegated at the end of the 2028-29 season. He could have gone to any other team that he so chose, but he decided to stick it out with the Foxes in their campaign to get back into the top flight. He did just that, and he cemented his place in the side after solid and impressive performances at left back, and then VIpin sealed his place in the history of Admiral Porcusces by scoring the 78th minute goal that won the Foxes the 2031 SFA Cup Final. Safe to say that this is a call-up two years in the making.

RM: Max PIERCE 35 y/o, Rosenpfelblatz North End Image
Another area of the pitch where Abanhfleft are currently a bit thin is at right midfielder, and after much deliberation Ranulph Bustamante decided to put Max Pierce in as Andor Gaal's backup. There's nothing to separate the two aside from the fact that Pierce is slower and has the defensive subtlety of a nuclear bomb. But apparently Max is the best of the rest of Abanhfleft's right midfielders. This is going to end so well for the country.

LM: Trevor IÑIGUEZ 33 y/o, Ludogorets Markovsky Image
The backup left midfielder was actually a tough choice to make for Ranulph Bustamante because there were two players who could very well have fitted into that spot on the national team: Travis Sevilla and Trevor Iñiguez. Both of them were gifted technical players with bags of skills with an eye for finding teammates in the final third. In the end, Bustamante opted to go with Iñiguez because the Fleftic Air Force didn't want Sevilla outside of the country in the event of an attack on the Democratic Republic.

RW: Palmer HICKS 25 y/o, Locomotive Imgortur Image
In a team where the system doesn't have much use for a winger, how is one such right winger in one such team supposed to get game time? On loan to another club, of course! Palmer is entering the second year of a two-year loan deal to newly promoted Electric Yugal with an option to buy for the Bolts. He did well for Electric during their promotion campaign in Unang Liga, but can he do the same in the Premier League? Ranulph Bustamante believes Palmer can do it with the national team, so there's that.

CAM: Clifton DESPUJOL 20 y/o, Imperial Markovsky Image

LW: Elmo BEVAN 32 y/o, Riuwiee United Image
Like many a youth before him, Elmo Bevan didn't really know where he wanted to go, what he wanted to do. He played in the middle of the park. He played as a forward. He played in the wings. And it was there on the left that Elmo finally found his calling, the place where he could put all of his talents on display. After helping Airbus Fhulghamous Besanza to another Fhulghamousian Premier League title, Riuwiee United activated his buyback clause, and the son of Owen Bevan has been doing a great job in the capital. Not good enough to break into the starting eleven of the national team, but a great job nonetheless.

ST: Bradley AQUINO 21 y/o, Kimmirut Panhandle Image
People have always rated Bradley's older brother Braydon Aquino as being the future national team player, at least the one assured of getting consistent call-ups and starts. But once again, those people were wrong, and it is now Bradley who has seemingly nailed down a place in the starting eleven while Braydon is nowhere near the senior Revolutionaries team. It's almost carbon copy of the story of the Williamson siblings, Charlene and Gareth. Everyone also thought that Gareth would go on to do great things with the Revolutionaries while Charlene would fade into obscurity. Instead, the exact opposite happened. What a freaky coincidence, right?

The Archalitian Pirates
STYLE MOD: 0

About the Pirates
The Archalitian football team, nicknamed the “Pirates” in accordance with the Pirate’s Republic, are a fledgling
team in the Football world. Two cycles back, Archalit's Pirates debuted in BoF 80 where they saw moderate
success, taking silver overall, but they proceeded to fall short, staying stuck in the midtable for much of the
World Cup Qualifiers. Thus, they came through to the next cycle with a new roster and a dream, and managed
to go all the way to playoffs only to be brutally defeated in the biggest game of this teams career—Archalit vs
Chromatika. Still, they held their head high after getting knocked out and proceeded to podium in the Cup of
Harmony, going nearly undefeated barring the semifinal against Milchama. Now comes BCC6, and the team is
ready to throw it all back onto the drawing board and think about how we can create a new roster that can
succeed the former.

About Archalit
Archalit is a socialist state associated with The Communist Bloc. After a recent regime change, the nation has begun the radical shift from an oppressive totalitarian state with closed borders to a democratic, socialist state that follows the doctrine of Libertarian Socialism. Because of the push to participate on the international stage, the Pirate's Republic of Archalit began a rapidly developing sports program. They are notable for their unique history with Piracy and complete lack of prisons. The nation is massive and it's population is an astounding 6 billion, although the birth rate is steady and showing no signs of changing. The capital of Archalit is Charkara, the home of the Archalit Olympic Stadium, housing a capacity of ninety-five thousand people.
Roster Information
First and foremost, Kim Jin-Ham and Rayth Lionheart have retired from the National team. With two players leaving the team, two were invited from the youth programs to join the team for BCC 6. This tournament serves as an excellent opportunity to test out rosters before the Independent's Cup, and scope out potential threats in the coming World Cup season.

The goalkeepers have simply become a smaller group, having lost a reserve in Kim Jin-Ham. Roland Baker will be sitting on the bench for this tournament in favor of Damien Looke, although it's likely this change is not permanent and will only be the case for the Brevity Challenge Cup. Not much more to talk about in the goalkeeper section.

The midfielders are an interesting story. Back during the first World Cup cycle, Ethan San was still a teenager. At just 18 years old, he was a part of the powerful Archalitian team that took silver in the 80th Baptism of Fire, despite their momentum fizzling out in the proceeding World Cup. However, he temporarily left the main team to compete with the U21's in the Di Bradini cup, and did not come back for the latest World Cup cycle. However, he's back in fitness and ready to play, and he's instantly taken the starting position alongside Terry Yang, Duke Sondas, and August Armburst. This powerful group is the backbone of the team, and they stand behind one crazy developing lineup.

The forwards are still as normal. Cynthia Harmonia and Micha Sooza play on the right and left of Lyndon Nightmare and they'll be on the starting lineup for this match. However, while Micha Sooza is getting older, Minato Gee is starting to look like his replacement. Coming out of the youth team, Minato Gee, sister of one of the original starters Jose Gee, will be standing by as a powerful left-wing sub for Sooza, and it's getting more and more likely that the team will need a new player on the left in the near future.

Legion Tower is the white thing in the distance, there. The Supermassive Sea Dome is in transparent mode.Image
Shown in soccer configuration
LOCATION: Iron Hill Zone, CC1
ELEVATION: 7,415 ft/2.26km
Not to be outdone by Red Sea Dome City, Corporate City 1's high-rise 'field' is actually a rooftop basketball court resizable for volleyball, boxlax, and other sports- including all football codes- requiring surfaces to be trucked all the way up the frightening Legion Highway or delivered by helicopter or by dropper (reconfigured pamphlet bomber). It is extremely popular due to its opposite weather conditions under the Supermassive Sea Dome giving an inherent advantage over MSD. But unlike the free-for-all down below, Peak Field only allows High City College, the CC1 Legion (senior national team), international guests, and domestic members of 4 pro clubs hand-selected after proving they deserve to live más: the Iron Hill GFC Ancients, the Dozens, the Bazaar Eagles and the Infosec-Pro Operators. You can wear, say, or do almost anything nonviolating here because people are unusually focused on not dying. Also, it's hard to find anything in CC1 that is both profitable and illegal except one corporation overthrowing the Corporate Council, which would be unprecedented.

WORLD DEBUT Legion
Manager Barkly Bayankhongor, 47M. Starting formation: 3-3-3-1
After a brilliant career in an unintelligible sport on a world that no longer exists, Barkly found himself on the nameless rotting collapse-world on which the Supermassive Sea Dome was first constructed. Eager to be launched back into the height of athletic success, he quickly gravitated toward the huge island at the very center of the Dome and frantically attempted to organize something like a professional sports league before he aged out. He was sore after years of handshaking to try to make this thing happen, but it almost did, when the Civil War broke out. Aside from being a City resident, Barkly had despised the Communage movement on his home planet and raged all these years later at losing so much of his wealth to the red menace. Of course he joined the Corporate Navy of Shiheda Electronics.

Upon becoming a submariner, BB not only faced defeat and humiliation after his company's decimation in battle, but exited the war with a degraded, pressure-bent body unlikely to enjoy playing any conventional sport for a while. Some men in his position had chosen to pursue a series of aggressive experimental treatments or joined Parasport, the disability-centered sporting league. Not Bark. Bark channeled his seething enmity into learning a sport popular in AO and single-mindedly chased the goal of becoming the first Corporate man to return humiliation to the Lemon Sharks. It is rumored he is much more interested in besting Red Sea Dome than actually getting results in any positive sense.

So it was that Barkly, whose mission was known of and approved by the Public Entertainment Corporation and CCFA, ventured deep into Legion Library to study this game and find out who had used strategic and tactical innovations to punish hated enemies for their hubris. He studied this world, and that, but could find no joy. Yes, the NSWC had produced some hundreds of winning ideas, but there's the rub- no orthodox, no heterodox, no dialectic. No, Bark needed a world of true haves and have nots.

Enter Earth History.

Please feel free to pick starters and scorers according to your whims, this is a light and fun tournament where not everyone will RP their own games anyway.
No sadistic cruelty. Otherwise go nuts as long as there is a reasonable scientific explanation.
CC1 has legal drugs and supermedicine, and if you can afford it, will help you smuggle it (or enslaved people, or any other awful transaction that should be illegal) out of the Dome.

Lugubrious we need not be. That which spills red ain't forgot, here. Reading the names of the war dead would take long enough to just fight another war. Poetry lives in the slaughter, the chaos, the death of all that makes us human. Matrian poetry does now, that's for sure.

Sea Peoples are never born, but can only be made. The term means something different on Earth with its richly unitary history, its uninterrupted flow of time. Truth is war never dies. It ends, but ending is not final, not really. Ending is just a new phase of it all.

The blue tarmac stretched towards Agheim like a tendril seeking light. Johans Kohn steeled his shoulders against the wind and awaited the taxi that would guide him through the banks of violet heather to his footballing future. Hazy stratus cloud lay above him like an unwritten page. He was ready.

Football? Right now? No. Because it is not a good time. No, it’s not that I’m not interested per se, it’s just a bad time, ok? I’ve got other stuff to do, and I need to stay focused. Why? It's called work, alright, and I really need to stay sharp.

The floodlights came on, illuminating the night sky. You saw everything, every single seat in the stands, the dew drops on the blades of grass. Then eleven pairs of boots. Eleven red and yellow shirts. Eleven players ready to put everything on the line for their country. Semarland were back.

Valiantly, we have been known to fight against some of the best teams in the multiverse.
Verily so, we have had our victories and defeats, and mostly the latter.
Vigorous but fair, our training has taken us further with each passing season.
Virtually, this season should yield us better results.

Ketiou is a young nation located in south-west Rushmore on the Goose Coast, next to Djocoranga and Mwembamba. The Ketioulais were colonised by Prahecq centuries ago and are still recovering from the scars of colonialism, a bloody revolution managed to push the Prahecqois out and the key dates of 1093 and the whole month of August – regarded as a revolutionary month – are venerated across the country. Ketiou’s relationship to the colonial metropole can be seen in the make-up of their national team, with 18 of their 26-man squad playing in the Prahecqois Championnat, most of these players being born in Prahecq to Ketioulais parents. Only six players play for domestic sides, with the other two – Antoine Mushiya and Damilola Camara – plying their trade in Mytanija’s lower leagues.

Ketiou is currently run as a federal Utilist-Tolikist one-party socialist republic, with political dissidence harshly punished. The lack of political freedom has been somewhat mitigated by the country’s economic and social development under this system. Revolutionary President Amidou Kassambara’s ambitious policy programme has seen the country nationalise all land and mineral wealth; launch a nationwide literacy campaign; redistribute land to peasants; large-scale road and rail construction; and a drive for agrarian self-sufficiency. Public health has also been an important area, with enormous vaccination programmes; newly-built medical dispensaries in every city, town and village; and the outlawing of female genital mutilation. Kassambara has pursued an anti-imperialist foreign policy, shunning foreign aid, pushing for debt reduction and regularly criticising Prahecq for their colonial terror.

The best players in the squad are towering Étoile Rouge centre-half Maxi Dumont and tricky Douanes’ winger Manu Bethuna. There is a wealth of promising young talent sprinkled throughout the squad, particularly midfield creator Ghislain Nana and young strikers Connaissance Mambeka and Kanga Mbo Mbo.
