@VTRacer

Last race of the season and 4 #NSSCRAPickEm contestants will now put their faith solely in a single driver. Each of our four finalists are paired up with one of the #NSSCRA championship contenders and a winner will be crowned based on the final results!

@J3nna

Well we didn't advance to the Championship 4 this season but it was still a great showing for the whole team. Not sure what next season will bring as far as racing goes, will let the Agent handle that. For now, looking to put on a good show for the fans and for @TeamTrop at a track we've already won at once this season!!

Tundra Falls Proving Grounds, Tundra Falls, Newmanistan
After the Proving Grounds 500
It was over. Taylor Henderson climbed out of her SAM Sentry following the Proving Grounds 500 – a disappointing race where she didn’t have her head in the game one bit – and slowly walked away from the car. Away from pit road, and away from her life as a NSSCRA Multiversal Cup driver. She looked back a tiny bit to see the celebration already getting started for NSSCRA Champion Mike Stefan and Jaguar Racing, and she stopped as she watched it start to unfold. The fans, the media, other drivers – they were looking over there. Nobody even noticed Taylor on pit road as the celebrations got started. Fame and success – they were fleeting. One moment, you were the toast of town. Next moment, you were an afterthought.

Taylor walked back to her hauler to get changed, not even feeling a bit of emotion. She couldn’t wait for the next phase of her life, and that phase was going to start the second she got home from Tundra Falls. John Russell, her lifelong friend, hadn’t made it to Tundra Falls, so there was no reason for her to want to stay in the first place. There was no reason for her to stay and mingle. She got changed, stepped out and got ready to leave. That’s when she spotted Drake Stevenson, who was walking back to the Team Blue Center.

Drake looked at her and stopped. The two looked at each other for quite a bit of time. Then he looked at a giant screen, showing Mike Stefan celebrating as the NSSCRA Multiversal Cup Champion.

“Hendo, remember what I said…”

“That’s going to be us.”

“And it was. It was.”

Drake had no small amount of sadness as he looked at Taylor, possibly for the final time. Their paths would diverge from this moment. Drake was probably going back to run in the NSSCRA, barring any sudden changes that may happen during the offseason. But Taylor’s path was going to look much more uncertain than that. At the very least, any return to the NSSCRA was exceedingly unlikely, and she knew it.

“I just wish it could have turned out better for you,” Drake said. “I really do. You were something special.”

Taylor nodded her head and looked towards the ground past Drake.

“I’m going to miss you,” Drake said. “Take care of yourself.”

Taylor then looked back at Drake and smiled. The two went their own way. Drake was on his way back to the Team Blue Center, while Taylor was on her way to the parking lot, to a car that would take her to the airport, to take her away from this world she had dreamt of so much when she was younger. This world that had been so good to her for such a brief time, before it came crashing down in such a horrible way.

As she walked towards the parking lot, she spotted Chris Holmes chatting with Tyson Hoyt after the race. Both of them had beers in their hands, and it looked like both had smiles on their faces. Chris’s season was a minor success by Team Blue’s standards, and Tyson was just glad the season was over. A brief thought went through Taylor’s mind as she spotted the two. Both of them were troubled souls, having dealt with more than their fair share of self-inflicted issues. Both had dealt with disciplinary situations in the past – Chris’s problems were well-documented in the NSSCRA, while Tyson was long known as HASCAR’s bad boy. Taylor wondered if she could have a similar redemption. Maybe somewhere down the road, she could make it back to NSSCRA, and maybe somewhere down the road she could make it back to the front of the field in the Multiversal Cup Series.

But as she walked back to the parking lot, she kept wondering if she really wanted that, and as she got to her car, she decided that no, she wanted nothing more to do with racing. She wanted nothing to do anymore with the wild world of auto racing.

Maybe if she had grown up someplace else, she wouldn’t have gained the reputation she gained. But coming from the Hampton Cities, and racing on their short tracks, where the way to drive was kill or be killed. She got taken out a few times and she took others out. She had a few wrenches thrown at her head, and she had to fight off a few people in the pits after the race. But if she had grown up elsewhere, like in Buckridge, where some of the best pavement short track racers around competed, or in Hapilopper City, home of the best dirt racers, maybe she’d be in better shape. Maybe she’d still be competing today.

But there was nowhere she could go with that reputation, and nowhere she could go with her attitude, and by now, she knew it. As she got to the car, she knew that if she ever wanted to continue as a race car driver, it would be in HASCAR, where she wanted nothing to do with, or back to the short tracks in the Hampton Cities – or maybe in Buckridge, where John Russell lived, that man that loved her.

That week she spent with John wasn’t the best time she had ever spent and now she was wondering what the rest of her life would look like. She didn’t want to move to Buckridge where John was. They had grown apart from each other and it showed. She didn't want to be in John's life. She wanted her own life.

For a long time, Taylor sat in that car, wondering what was coming next in her life. There was a huge unknown in her life. At 25 years old, her racing career was over. What was she going to do now?

Epilogue
East Hampton, Hapilopper
Around the time of the start of NSSCRA 14
After Taylor Henderson returned from Tundra Falls, she knew that her racing career was over. She had no interest in returning to auto racing, even to watch it on television or at one of the tracks. For a few weeks, Taylor spent her time at her parents’ house contemplating what to do with her life. She was 25, so she still had time on her side. She also had a good amount of money saved up. She had been good with her money when she competed in the NSSCRA, so at least she had that to fall back on.

Those that saw Taylor in the immediate aftermath of her career ending said she seemed like a different person now that her career was over. When she raced, it seemed like she was an asshole to everyone. But now that her career was over, she seemed a lot more easy going. She seemed personable – and happy, no less. The old Taylor, it turned out, had been difficult to work with as she tried to deal with the stress of the world of racing – and having to work doubly hard as the men, having chosen a world full of sexists and male chauvinist pigs. But now that was in her rear-view mirror, and it was almost as if she had a weight lifted off her shoulders.

Instead of worrying about the world of racing, Taylor decided to pursue an education. With her funds built up, affording college wasn’t going to be an issue. She had decently-good grades in high school, and with that, she applied for the University of the Hampton Cities, a prestigious university based in East Hampton, where she would major in business administration. Instead of traveling with the world of the NSSCRA, Taylor would take residence in Chavis Hall, an undergraduate dorm hall on the college ground.

When she moved herself in, her roommate, a lady from South Hampton named Kristie Lynton, did a double take when she realized she would be living with Taylor. She had watched racing, and had cheered for Taylor.

“Just don’t make it weird and we’ll be cool,” Taylor told Kristie. “I’ll tell you some racing stories if you’re interested.”

But Taylor’s interest, now, was getting her education. The day the green flag waved on the Tundra Falls 500 to kick off the next NSSCRA Multiversal Cup season, the crowds were not cheering for Taylor. Instead, Taylor Marie Henderson had holed herself up in a cubicle in the Thornton Library at UtHC, studying from her textbooks. It didn’t even occur to her that her old racer buddies were competing in Newmanistan. She didn’t even give it a thought.

How do you reflect on a season that featured so much across a timespan that felt so little? That is the question circulating around Huuhkajat Moottoriurheilu as their 2nd season in the NSSCRA comes to a close. Reflecting on the past will certainly be needed in a season that was certainly a step up from the first, but how is everyone feeling as the offseason draws near once more?

AK
Starting in P11 and finishing in P20...a good way to end the season for the Vuohi. Aurélia Karvonen may have not had the most glamorous of seasons, but she could certainly feel like she contributed if nothing else. Sure, she didn't manage to break the non-charter chains this time, but her late season form was certainly fun if nothing else, showcasing that the #71 car perform when given the opportunity to. She knows that she will, most likely, start next season without one again...but she didn't mind that. P34 and 402 points were still good for a non-charter and while she was blown out of the water by Lam, she didn't care - because LCC is just blossoming into a racing icon right in front of her eyes and sometimes, those types are hard to stop.

What was she thinking now? Yritän parempaan ensi vuonna. Nothing about the ticking clock...not yet, anyway. The Chase reinvigorated her confidence and she knows that she will try and go into next year with nothing to lose. What about the Pomo? Well, the Pomo is at her beck and call and she did manage to let him slip something during one of their informal meetings: In NSSCRA 15, the season after next, Marx was thinking about instigating a 3rd car for both T1 and T2, just like it is down in AOCAR. That could mean that, for next season, her T2 teammates may end up going through an unofficial scrap for the right to join her and Lam in the top tier. Who would win that battle, between Ilmari and Salo? That one was hard to call...but time may certainly tell. What about AOCAR? Which 2 drivers would move up? That one was even harder to call, as AOCAR can certainly be a bitch when it wants to be.

But that's for the future. Now, she will rest...and hope next year bring better fortune.

LCC
Despite the recent trouble in bringing the car home, Lam Chow-Cheung did manage a brilliant final weekend by converting P45 in qualifying to P4 in the race, just missing out on the podium as Michael Stefan won it all. In the end, both they and 2nd placed Yraaga Gilli’i acted as a Dart wall that Jeremiah Brooke couldn't breech and while that was certainly unintentional on Lam's part, it did feel good to see a fellow TJUN-ian win it all. They ended up going over to congratulate Micky for the dub while also "comisserating" Mercado (not like he cared) and definetly comisserating Rinzi and especially Brooke. "I didn't mean to be in the way." is what they told him. "But good job on a good race, nonetheless!"

As for Lam themselves...well, this season was nothing short of remarkable. Of course, considering how well they did last season behind the mask, they knew that there was a chance that they might fight for a spot in the Chase...but man, they didn't see this season coming at all. Their consistency turned out to be quite good as off the track, their bonds with their friends grew. And then Hap City happened. Finally winning a race, finally getting a chance to rip that mask off their face, was nothing short of magical...a feeling they will never forget for the rest of their life. Then came their very first appearance in the Chase and while they expected just to try their best, they actually ended up doing quite well and ending up in the Top 12. That will forever by associated with their name - P12, 3158 points, 1 win - and that will certainly look pretty on the end of season stat sheet.

This offseason...well, they will hope to hang out more with their good friends from the group chat, with meetups in both Kimi-Suomi and TJUN-ia planned. Batu Tüvshinbayar has certainly acted like a good friend throughout this season but they also know that they have had some issues...especially around Donny Fitzpatrick. Batu has said nothing about what happened that night in Kara-Oh-K!, if anything happened at all. Lam didn't know if that was a good thing or not but they knew that, in good time, they would know. As for Tshering Gyetshen...where do they begin? That growing bond grew into so much more...and Lam couldn't be happier. Watching Tshering in that replay, watching him claim his 2nd ECC crown, was nothing short of remarkable. As was the hug they shared that night. As was having him turn up, unexpected, to their apartment in Kimi Kaupunki. Was was that night, watching the stars from their balcony while cuddled up together.
One day, Batu and everyone else will know...but considering everything, that could wait.

But that's for the future. Now, they must rest...and they certainly deserved this one.

He tried so hard, and got so far. But in the end.... that second NSSCRA Multiversal Cup Series.title would have to wait, for a runner-up points finish was all that Jeremiah Brooke could muster. It wasn't for lack of trying though - he gave it his all, his crew helping him out and the fans giving their full support. Thing was, Michael Stefan was just untouchable that afternoon, claiming not only the win but the crown and cementing the Jaguar Racing team's status as no longer just a rising star or a dark horse, but a legit threat.

Still, Jeremiah was glad. Season's over, time to relax. He also saw something positive out of his place in the points standings, that being an improvement from last season's fifth. After congratulating Michael on his win, and the other two Championship Four participants Alfonso Mercado and Rinzi Aogar Zakhilwal for putting up quite the fight, he met up with his wife Stacie Houston and their other teammate Thea Alvarez, and the trio started walking back to the Gale Force Racing garage. That was where they met Lam Chow-Cheung. The sophomore driver had been another thorn on Jeremiah's side that day, making it hard for him to get to Michael.

Kimi-Suomi wrote:"I didn't mean to be in the way." is what they told him. "But good job on a good race, nonetheless!"

Jeremiah was okay with Lam pointing out his valiant effort, though not quite with their comment about them being in his way. He had accepted that he didn't win, and didn't need any more reminders, especially not from those who actively played a part in why.

"Uh... yeah, sure, whatever you say. Now if you'll excuse us..."

At least it was just that. Any other driver might have said something worse. Before leaving the scene, Stacie simply just shook her head, while Thea said "Not the time, Lam," hoping they'd get the hint.

Somewhere on the Trans-Hapilopper Highway, heading to Wreckeria
A couple days after returning from Newmanistan – 11:00 at night
Thank goodness this season was over. Drake Stevenson needed the season to end. By the time the season had come to an end, there were days where he wanted to run through a brick wall and raise hell on the race track. But there were other days where Drake would just sit in a corner, look out a window and wonder where he could have done differently. And after returning from Newmanistan, that’s exactly how he felt. He wondered how differently life would have gone had certain things not happened. He wondered how differently how differently his life would have been had he kept going in Grand Prix racing, or if he never left HASCAR, or if certain people in his life had stayed.

So, in an attempt to clear his mind, Drake left his house, got in his car and decided to drive until he was sick of driving. After a short drive, he found the Trans-Hapilopper Highway, heading west towards Wreckeria – or at least, the old Wreckeria.

There was something cathartic about getting out on the highway and being alone. It allowed Drake to think about life, think about his future and think about what could have been, and what could still be. For much of the end of the NSSCRA season, Drake didn’t want to be there, and his results showed. He wanted to go away, maybe try something new, maybe go into another field, or hell, maybe even take a gap year, go on vacation for a year and then figure out what he wanted to do with his life.

And as Drake could see the horizon get darker and darker as he drove away from Hapilopper City, he thought about if he truly wanted to leave the NSSCRA, either for a year or permanently. He couldn’t help but wonder if he would continue to feel this level of melancholy if he kept going – wondering what would have happened had life gone differently. It was a somber feeling as he drove away from his home town out west.

Before long, the traffic had died down. It usually did as he exited the outskirts of Hapilopper City. There were a handful of people on the road still, going out to tiny towns across Hapilopper, and carrying their goods to points elsewhere. It allowed Drake to feel like he was the only person left in the world. The screaming crowds were gone. The incessant autograph seekers, the reporters, the photographers taking pictures of his every move – gone. The other competitors, their support staff – gone. Right now, it was Drake and Drake alone on the highway.

Eventually, he figured he’d drive to Wreckeria. He’d drive to Halsted, and maybe visit where some of his ancestors were from. His grandfather that he never knew – he too, was named Drake Stevenson – was the captain of the Wreckerian football team, or was supposed to be, when the team made its debut on the national stage over 60 years before, at the 30th World Cup. But Drake Stevenson the elder was taken away by True Wreckerian partisans, and never seen or heard from again. Maybe Drake the younger could meet some of his family he never got to know. Maybe he could get to figure out what he wanted to do with his life. He was 36 years old and was looking for some direction in his life.

There were some ideas that sounded more attractive than others. He thought about going back to the dirt tracks around Hapilopper, buying a dirt late model and campaigning it around with the Dominion Outlaw Series’ late model tour. Or maybe he could go back to HASCAR, and pick up where he left off in a series that had been so good to him over the years.

When the idea of HASCAR entered his mind, Drake started thinking back to how it had been. To how it was before the team decided to go racing internationally. To put it mildly, Drake had been the top of the heap in HASCAR, and was considered the odds-on favorite to win almost every week. It was such a magical period of time, and a time when everything seemed perfect. But then Drake left Team Blue to go Grand Prix racing around the same time Team Blue decided to step away from HASCAR to compete in the NSSCRA. At this point, traveling down the highway, Drake couldn’t help but wonder if both of those moves had been awful mistakes… mistakes he wished he could go back in time and prevent.

What if I had told Ken this was a mistake, Drake thought. Let’s keep doing what we’re doing. Let’s stay in HASCAR, and let’s stay the course. What if I hadn’t left.

Drake’s Super Skychief was deathly quiet inside as he thought about what could have been.

I’d probably feel a lot better about life right now, Drake thought. No bullshit involving people I’d rather not know. No plush birds. No blue iguanas. No magical wars. No water festivals. No MemeWatch. And no French maniacs. Just us going racing.

For a brief time, Drake thought about ringing Amanda McAlister, the current team principal of Team Blue. He wanted to tell her that the best thing for Team Blue to do was to leave NSSCRA and go back to HASCAR. That next year, the best thing that the team could do was run himself, Chris Holmes and Rinzi Zakhilwal in the HASCAR Challenge Cup. Or maybe himself, Chris Holmes and Frank Bronson. They could pick up where they left off, win races and dominate, and win championships like they had in the old days.

It seemed like a wonderful idea on paper. Team Blue comes home. Drake Stevenson comes home to his fans. And in fact, the more he thought about it, the more he wanted to do it.

But there was something stopping him. There was something that made him question if he really wanted to walk away from the international game and stay in Hapilopper.

At this point, Drake was nearing Border City, and nearing the old Wreckerian border. There was a Duc-ee’s gas station not far – the largest gas stations anyone in Hapilopper had laid eyes on. Drake always loved going to these stations ever since he had been a little kid, and always enjoyed the loudness of it all – the swarms of people, the hundreds of gas pumps, it always seemed like a fun place to visit. So he pulled off the Trans-Hap to visit and see who was around.

This wasn’t going to be a stop where he would determine if he would stay in the NSSCRA or go home to HASCAR, where he had ruled the roost for so long. This was going to be a stop where he just stopped, filled up his car, got some cigarettes and went on his day.

But as he got into the Duc-ee’s store, he spotted people from all walks of life, having stopped to do the same thing. These were people with different stories, different ways of life, and different goals, all stopped for a pit stop. For a brief moment, all of these people had their paths converge on one super-sized convenience store, if for a little bit. And as Drake walked in, it very slightly reminded him of the NSSCRA.

There were all sorts of people in the NSSCRA that Drake enjoyed seeing and competing against. While he had his issues with them, Drake liked the Valentians. He liked seeing guys like Jeremiah Brooke and Sage Caldwell and Thea Alvarez. He actually liked Ilya Tsunopin, even if he came across as a little out there. And while he certainly had his problems with him over the years, he actually liked Kai Qiang. They might not have seen eye-to-eye with each other, but Drake liked racing with Qiang just as much as anyone, and more than a lot of Hapiloppians he had run with. He liked the Jaguar Racing team, he liked Lam-Chow and many of the rest he had competed against. And the different kinds of people he had encountered along the NSSCRA Championship Trail, they always seemed interesting to run into.

But as interesting and as fun as those people in the NSSCRA were, Drake wondered if it was all worth it. He wondered if it was worth the troubles he had gone through. A young couple passed by him. They had to have been in their early-20s, and they looked as happy as could be. She was looking through some of the aisles looking at gift ideas for her friends, as well as things they could put in their kitchen. And she looked strangely like someone Drake had been in a relationship worth many years before. He looked like a younger version of Drake, but pudgier. He just looked like he was enjoying every little bit of life.

The two spotted Drake as they were going through the gifts, and it was clear they were excited to see him.

“Hey, you’re Drake Stevenson, aren’t you?” the woman asked. “We’re big fans!”

“Yeah, we saw you win at the Skychief a few years ago, it was the most amazing thing I had ever seen at a race track,” the man said. “The way you passed Qiang on the outside like that…”

“Yeah, that was a fun moment,” Drake responded with a pain in his voice. Not at recollecting the memory of the win, but rather at the reminder of what had gone wrong in his life.

“You good, Drake?” the man asked.

“Not really,” Drake responded. “Not really. Best thing I can tell you… just cherish every moment and never let anyone get between the two of you. It looks like you two are perfect for each other. But cherish every moment, because one day, it could all be gone and you’re trying to pick up the pieces.”

Drake walked off, his mood having darkened significantly. He bought himself a pack of cigarettes, filled up his car and went on his way. That young couple reminded him of a past life, a life he wished he still had. A life before NSSCRA, a life before he had to travel all over the multiverse every weekend to compete against the best of the best.

He got back in his car and started driving again, towards Wreckeria. And the mood he had been in before had darkened significantly. Not that it was very bright to begin with, but it had darkened even more.

Halsted, Wreckeria
The next morning
Eventually, Drake made it to Halsted. It was a town that had significantly grown up in recent years, now that the Wreckerian Civil War was firmly in its rear view mirror. The city was enjoying quite a resurgence, and for the first time in some time, Halsted seemed like a fun place to visit.

The sun was rising over Halsted. All around Drake, people were on the roads getting ready to go to work. They didn’t know they were sharing a road with a famous race car driver in a bad mood, trying to figure out what he wanted to do with his life.

Eventually, Drake made it to a place he could park – the Tom Jenkins Park, on the eastern outskirts of town. He got out and sat on the hood of his car, thinking about the changes he needed to make to his life. For starters, it was clear that he hadn’t ever let go of that one person from his past – the one he always loved. He had started that PartnerMeet profile because he had wanted to reconnect with her. But it was not to be. And after dealing with trolls and after dealing with someone that was in a relationship with someone else, Drake decided dating was a terrible idea. It only led to pain.

But he still wondered if he would ever meet someone, and how it would turn out. To him, it would probably end badly. That’s all he thought.

I can’t be with someone. It will only end in pain.

And he wondered if he truly wanted to leave the NSSCRA behind and go back to HASCAR. Going back to HASCAR could be the one thing he needed to do, but what if it wasn’t the same? What if he was thinking back through rose-tinted glasses and it wasn’t as great as he had originally pictured? Maybe he might think going back was a great idea, but then when he thought about it, he was going to regret it.

After all, when he was truly enjoying himself, there was nothing more fun than going out and competing against the best of the best. And he had truly enjoyed himself in years past.

And as Drake sat on the hood of his car, watching the sun rise, he thought about the fun he had going all over the world, befriending some of the most incredible people in the multiverse, competing against, without question, the best race car drivers around, on some of the most incredible venues anyone could dream of. Anyone and everyone dreamed of this job.

What the fuck am I going to give this up for? Because some bullshit went down? We all go through bullshit in our lives.

A tear went down his eye as he thought of all that went wrong, but there were other thoughts going through his mind – all that went right, and there was plenty that went right, and plenty more to go right if he just kept on the path. This year was an aberration. There was plenty more good to come, if he just stayed on that path.
Drake pulled out his phone and dialed Amanda McAlister, his boss at Team Blue.

“Stevenson, this better be good, I’m trying to get my kids ready for school,” Amanda replied.

“Then I’ll be quick. I’m in for next season,” Drake said.

“Good, I was hoping you’d say that,” Amanda said. “Next year? We’re going to kick ass. And you’re going to kick ass.”

“Oh hell yeah,” Drake responded before hanging up the phone.

The rising sun represented a new day, a new opportunity to make right what went wrong. And for Drake Stevenson, that rising sun represented a new birth. There was so much more to go for him, and he wasn’t about to give it up. Next season, Drake Stevenson would return with a vengeance, with a new fire in his eyes, a new desire to win, kick ass and take names. He wasn't done yet.

Drake Stevenson and Team Blue will return.

This blog was written by Derrick Carlisle, Jaguar Racing's Social Media Manager

Proving Grounds 500. Tundra Falls Proving Grounds. Newmanistan. On this Sunday, a title had to be won...and Jaguar Racing, in its 5th season of NSSCRA, had two horses in this running - Alfonso Mercado (@AM64) and Michael Stefan (@Stefan07). The biggest weekend in our history had reached its main event and everyone was a little bit nervy around our side of the fence for obvious reasons. We knew that we had to treat it like any other weekend and having Maddison Riley-Jones (@MaddyRJ03) starting from pole certainly helped with that, but that still didn't stop the nerves running down the spines of me and Harpa Gylfisdóttir (@IsfruinJR) as both our boys' names were introduced to the crowd. No matter what happened out there, someone had to win it all...and we knew that everyone would be giving it their all to do just that. A reminder of the grid: Maddy P1, Lam Chow-Cheung P5, Stefan P7, Aurélia Karvonen P11, Rinzi Aogar Zakhilwal P15, Mercado P21 and Jeremiah Brooke P30.

How do you convey this race, huh? How do you convey a race as historic and batshit insane as this one? Well...I guess we start with the less-important things and move up from there. There were 4 retirements in this final race - Chris Gordon, Ricky Lee, Eva Kerman and Islago Tizilna. The 2 open-charters both made it home, with Derek Harwood in P34 and EverLong Champion Pyotr Lavrentiev in P36. Aurélia Karvonen ended up in P20 but the best non-charter would end up being Ashley Matthews in P16. Everything and anything was focused on the Top 15...and it was certainly nothing but chaos. Maddy ended up pulling off her job pretty well, trying to help both Stefan and Mercado where ever she could while also trying to worry about the battle for P17 against her good mate Thea Alvarez. Today she would end up in P8 and with Thea down in (ironically) P17, the former EverLong Champion would take home Best of the Rest honours for this season. Next season, she will aim for the Chase...not that she was worried about that after this race.

Mercado certainly tried. He had to, of course, and while he certainly put in a few shots at the crown, entering the final segment in P22 was never going to spell well for #64 at all. He certainly tried to push forward but in the end, he managed P10...beating Rinzi but no one else. Now I know that a lot of the attention after this weekend will be on the Champion...but Mercado deserves his due, too. Of course he isn't particularly upset about missing out on this crown but the fact he went from unchartered in Season 9 to P3 overall in Season 13 is just incredible. Mercado will be one to watch in the future...just like his boyfreind.

When Stefan joined NSSCRA he was the only one with the charter, the one JR pinned its early hopes against for most of our history in the sport. He was the one who got us to the Cup Series Chase for the very first time, the one who became the first local King of the Jungle...but also one who couldn't get out of the Top 12 no matter what. Last season, his boyfriend took the spotlight while he failed to make the Chase...but that was exactly what he needed. That failure allowed him to reset himself, get back into this Chase, break the Top 8 glass ceiling, break the ceiling alongside his boyfriend and end up here, in Tundra Falls, battling for the things he's been working towards for 5 years. For this race, he just wanted to focus on trying to be the first of the 4...and as things developed, it became increasingly clear that Jeremiah Brooke would be the one most likely to beat him. The race developed with this battle in mind as #07 battled for a historic first title and Brooke battled for their 2nd and the right to join Anastasia Freya Yadana Aye in the Modern 2-Time Champ Club. Things would certainly start to feel more and more nervy, for both drivers and fans alike, as the laps continued to tick down...but come the final 3 laps, Stefan was battling for the win and Broke was trying to deal with an unintentional wall of Darts in the form of Yraaga Gilli’i and Lam Chow-Cheung. In the end, things started to look more and more secure as we approached the white flag and while winning the race wasn't a necessity, every point counted in a free for all and that's exactly what Stefan felt in the #07. The final results: Stefan P1, Gilli'i P2, Koshiro Kawai P3, Lam P4, Gwen Tracer Allison Oxton P5, Brooke P6.
That was enough.
That was fucking enough.
His 8th race win of his career, his 2nd of the season, turned out to be the most important.
Michael Stefan had done it.
He fucking did it.
Michael Stefan, King Michael III of the Jungle, was now NSSCRA's Kaiser.
He was in the Hall of Fame.
He was the first ever TJUN-ian to grab this crown.
HE. IS. HIM.
HE IS THE CHAMPION.

JR: 500...400...300...KEEP GOING!
MS: GOT IT!
JR: 100...50...CHEQUERED FLAG!
MS: AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH! AAAAAAAAAH!
JR: AAAAAAAAAAAAH!
MS: AAAAAAAAAH! AAAAAaAaaaaaaAAaAAAAaaaAAAH!
JR: MICHAEL STEFAN, DU BIST DER WELTMEISTER! DER WELTMEISTER! Holy Shit!
MS: Aaaaaaaaaaah! Ich kann es nicht glauben! I...shit!
HG: You absolute monster, Micky! Congratulations! YOU are the Multiversal Cup Series Champion! YOU DID THIS! DU HAST DAS GETAN! FÜR UNS ALLE! Now go out there and celebrate...cause the trophy's heading back to Studtgraff! Permenently!
MS: Thank you...I can't believe it. I really can't.

The celebrations were certainly fit for a champion and everyone would end up getting some love. None more so than Mercado, of course, with their famous kiss on the roof of the #07 going on the back pages (and front pages too) of every major newspaper in TJUN-ia and across the multiverse. The podium ceremony for this race win felt like a coronation in all but name, though Stefan will have to wait until the Awards Ceremony in a few weeks for the famous Cup to be his for all time. He was on top of the world...literally this time.

And so...that is that. The greatest season in the history of Jagaur Racing has come to a close. 5 of our 6 drivers made it to the Chase, 3 of them competed in the Championship 4...and one of them won it all. Lam Chow-Cheung made the Chase as well, meaning the future of this sport is certainly looking strong for the Blue and Orange no matter what.

But that's for the future. As will preparations for the season to come, the first in which we are defending this Cup Series crown.
For now...we shall celebrate. And so will many back in our Island chain back home.

This is Derrick Carlisle, signing off for another year.
We are the champions, baby! End of story.
Wir sind die Meister! Ende der Geschichte.

The Valentians – Race 26 – Multiversal: Proving Grounds 500, Tundra Falls Proving Grounds, Newmanistan (Superspeedway); Everlong: Proving Grounds 400, Tundra Falls Proving Grounds, Newmanistan (Superspeedway)

Valentijn “De Sierlijke en Vrij Valkyrie General ov Valentine Z” Samantha Maxwell Delta Weston Stijn Angelus Tracey Mitchell Tristian Marnix Basilisk Lewis Hyatt X. Constantine Sein Lin Zaw Naing: was relieved that the race came to an end, all things considered. It was not so much that she and her Valentian friends, including the ones from Garden at 6th Mile Road, did incredibly poorly for this season; sure, the number of wins and podium finishes were a bit too fewer than they expected, but they did relatively well in terms of points. Valkyrie Valentijn, for instance, topped the non-Chase drivers of Everlong with a whopping 635 points, while Bryan Harrison was next with 595 points. Surely, that must also have been an accomplishment and a small victory of itself. Marcus Alan Ariel Reynolds and Michelle Kass Evelyn Vítková Pavlína were also not shabby and far behind – 20th and 21st, at 567 and 543 points respectively. Then there was Gwen Tracer Allison Oxton who was able to make it to 5th – all without a single win. She wasn’t too fazed by that, and all things considered, she hoped that NSSCRA 14 might give her an opportunity to get podium placements, but just falling behind slightly enough in order to not win the races. “If I can get 2nd or 3rd consistently, I think it could work,” Gwen remarked to the reporters and journalists all around her, all of them trying to get an action and talk from the familiar and recognizable lady in bright blue and green. Anastasia Freya Yadana Aye finished with a somewhat prophetic 15th spot, all the while scoring 2292 points whose digits added up to 15. Then there was Clarissa Alanis Star Samantha, one point shy above River ‘Shark’ Suzgar; and the two of them, multiples of 7 for their car numbers. The Gardeners were also not dilapidated themselves, with Holly leading it.

With all of this over, and with the Valentians having their own little parties on the ship and having sent their congratulations and regards to the newly-crowned Michael Stefan, it was time for the Valentians to make their way back home and to prepare for the next events, if any. For most of them, and for most of the Valentians in general, NSSCRA has been that one event that the entire country itself would slow down to catch it in action, perhaps right along the likes of World Cup (in terms of unique viewership and revenue, NSSCRA naturally beats World Cup and other events on a consistent basis in Valentine Z). Going back, the Valentians touched down on Yangon Interdimensional Depot, and then it was time for them to get a warm and cheerful welcome. Valentijn got out of the ship first, shadowing everyone with her sheer height as she navigated slowly and steadily through the crowd and the walkway. The rest of the Valentian drivers, along with their crew and staff, soon followed afterwards. For Valentijn (and Clarissa, sitting on her shoulder), the two would go back to the White House in the heart of Valentine Z’s capital in order to have a bit of rest alongside the usual business and jobs that they often find themselves doing; after all, even for a place like Valentine Z, issues come and need to be resolved on a regular basis. For Valentijn, however, all of these can wait, and there was nothing going on at that moment that cannot wait. No, she thought to herself, there are two people in particular that she very much wanted to be with, and to spend a couple of days with them right away.

In a typical modern-tech era scenario, neither of them would have been able to make it through. Then in 2026 and 2031, the respective prospects of the Virtual World that one can transfer their consciousness to live in, as well as the synthetic bodies that can have a consciousness transferred into, Valkyrie Valentijn was able to recreate the two bodies so that they can be with her, in a much younger and healthier state. All of this, of course, was done with permission granted from both of them. Harrison Anthony Fredrick Tyrell Clement Franz Johannes Morgan Stanley Win Khant Khaing Myint and Mandy Katherine Alexandra Breyanna Marlien Tania Janessa Audrey Kora Aaltje van 't Schansert, as a result, to this day, live in a relatively rural area in Yangon, the two of them somewhat away from the hustle and bustle and enjoying their golden years in their very healthy bodies. Throughout all of this, the two of them have been very supportive of him (and now her), and Valkyrie Valentijn has been in bliss ever since – with a wife who understands her first and foremost above everything else, the two parents that have been around for her, her many friends of Valentine Z, and of course, the always-friendly Valentian populace that have obtained their happiness naturally, from the world that they have built. Life has definitely been treating Valentijn very well there.

The four of them – with Valentijn’s parents and Clarissa on Valentijn’s shoulders – made their way home, with Valentijn slowly navigating through the roads. It was not a problem for her anymore, what with her walking along the roads slowly and gently, all the while obeying the rules of the traffic in order not to endanger her citizens. The Valentians, at the same time, were also used to such a thing, with hundred-meter leader of theirs (or other characters) going around. “Hey, Val! Welcome home!” a lot of them waved and greeted her, with Valentijn smiling and waving back at them, “Thank you! I hope you guys have been well too!” the voice boomed over the neighborhoods, much to the happiness and relief of everyone around once they recognized the voice. “Don’t worry, Valkyrie Val! I hope you will get that Championship for the next season!” “Clarissa, you got this next season! Good luck, to you too, wooo!”

Shrinking down to more reasonable sizes, Valentijn and Clarissa exchanged hugs with Harrison and Mandy, with the former then going down on her knees and worshipping her parents. Clarissa did the same, though for her, it was not needed. “May you two have a healthy life ahead of you, surrounded by people you love, and live rich and well,” Harrison said, with Mandy following him right afterwards. “Same old daughter of ours, it’s such a blessing to see you and your lovely lady,” Mandy remarked with a smile on her face. It has become a norm, but Valentijn was more than happy that her wife and her mother (Clarissa’s mother-in-law, that is) have always been cordial. “Now, then!” Harrison announced happily, opening the front door and then letting Mandy, Valentijn, and Clarissa in, “You all know that familiar smell and the setting. Your mom and I have cooked chicken biryani for the both of you!” Valentijn had the biggest smile on her face, holding Clarissa’s hand, as the two of them helped set the table a bit more, then putting the food into a plate for the elders first. “Yum! Delicious as ever! Thank you par naw, May May (mom) and Phay Phay (dad).” Clarissa also definitely enjoyed the meal, her internals working and breaking it down to convert it into pure ribbons of energy, while her synthetic taste buds and nose gave her euphoria and positive feedback.

The Gardeners – Race 26 – Multiversal: Proving Grounds 500, Tundra Falls Proving Grounds, Newmanistan (Superspeedway); Everlong: Proving Grounds 400, Tundra Falls Proving Grounds, Newmanistan (Superspeedway)

Holly Aceline “De Stralend en Wonderbaarlijk Licht Koningin Van Haar Mooie Universum” Aurora Symantha Vreugde Astrid Lavender Lexis Lilac Harmony Tsi. Marlie Nova Radiant Lapia Starlight got a relief from her recent race, finishing at an 14th. “Not too bad, haha!” she mused, just one position ahead of Anastasia. In actual fact, she was the second driver out of the six, with Clarissa, Jolyn, and Anna all trailing behind at the 20th to 30th positions. Answering a few questions for the press as she usually did – more than she used to do during her first season – Holly then excused and retreated herself back to the Valentian dropship, and then back to Valentine Z itself right after she has finished celebrating and cheering with the Valentians. “See ya later, Holly!” Gwen greeted and waved at her, a glass of gin in her hand, “Would you like a hand or two with your home dimension?” Holly smiled a little bit, then politely and gently shaking her hand, “Hm hm, not for now! The usual visitors from Valentine Z and well, maybe a few wayward and lost folks from other worlds. Thanks!” She slowly walked to the portal, waving gently.

That was perhaps the move that have surprised quite a fair lot of people, including the Valentians themselves. Much to the Valentians’ realization, Holly Starlight has been living in isolation for many eternities, time itself that became uncountable in her world. And yet, encountering the Valentians was the best thing that has happened to her, even if it has opened her up to the world around her, one that she has always feared. On that faithful day, she stood right outside the portal, hundreds of Valentians at the ready but with weapons down and to try to talk to her. Valkyrie Valentijn was at the ready, walking ever so slightly towards the equally large being made out of lights, and perhaps even bigger than her. Valentijn took the first few slow and steady steps, and then there was the attempt at communication. Somehow, Holly was able to understand snippets of English, along with many others, ones that were not from Valentine Z’s world included. Holly backed off as expected, but with Valentijn trying his (at that time) best, slowly approached her in return, and extending his hand in the air in front of her. “We are not here to hurt you,” he introduced himself, and then to the people around him, “You have opened a portal in our world, and we are more than welcome with that. It is nice to meet you. Tell me, stranger,” he stuttered a little. It wasn’t every day that he has seen or encountered something, or someone, like so, one who was so far removed from the laws of physics, as it would seem. Clarissa’s analysis on-board Valentijn’s armor indicated the same thing – a being unlike any other. Valentijn continued on, “Who might you be? Please, make yourself at home here and tell us.” Looking around at these strange yet friendly faces, Holly decided to sit down on the ground and tell the tale of herself.

Fast forward to a few decades coupled with NSSCRA (and a few other international and interdimensional sports ventures), Holly got a lot more comfortable – she started talking to the press more, though for the more obvious reasons, she would be always seen with a helmet and her firesuit, and would not remove it under any circumstances. Fans and staff alike have perhaps taken this as a relatively unusual behavior, but since it was not harming anyone as far as they were concerned, Holly was left alone that way most of the time, unbothered about as to why she would wear her helmet and not show her face to anyone else. “It is something that I would like to keep a relative secret, thanks,” she responded back at one of the very first interviews that she has done with the press – at least, one where she was feeling a lot less shy. Still, since she started to provide some results, along with not being a nuisance on the track and keeping it all to herself, Holly got her wish, and she would be known as “Possibly the most mysterious driver in NSSCRA to ever walk the track. There is something about Gwen Tracer Allison Oxton too, yes, but this woman, this mysterious lady, Holly Starlight, she is absolutely wild! Also very cold to the touch, so for those who likes to go for handshakes and hugs, please do NOT try that unless she says yes, okay?”

For that particular moment right after the final race, Holly wanted nothing than to talk to her friends, and then to finally go back to her treehouse, left intact and blue as ever, occupied by a couple of smaller fairies and beings that have minds of their own, courtesy of Holly creating them. She flew up to the top of the tree where her house is, entering through the window and then taking a long breath at her surroundings. Just like she left it, she thought to herself, perhaps only small changes here and there thanks to the aforementioned small beings that occupy the place. “Hello there, my little friends! Hm hm, I hope everything has been well!” she sounded off, twirling and doing a small little dance in the middle of the well-lit and vibrant room. “Ahh, what an event, I must say! But as always, the feeling of coming back to my home, is unmatched. I miss you all, my little friends! My err- well, I would say my creations, because that’s technically true, but on everywhere else, it would be a little weird, wouldn’t it?” With a couple of smaller fairies and humanoid beings in her palms, she walked upstairs to the rooftop and took in the view of her own world. “Simply wonderful, hm hm hm!” she laughed and smiled, the fairies then flying and floating around her in a brilliant dazzle and display of colorful lights. Holly watched her queendom, her eyes seeing every inch of its beauty, as well as any visitors – intentional or otherwise – who ended up in her world. A few seconds passed, and she saw her first visitors, though seems to be extremely unprepared. A group of friends, it would seem, five of them shivering a little bit. They would be startled by her at first glance, but of course, being able to communicate does wonders. Holly had a small smile on her face, and then approached the group. “Hello, welcome to my home!”
