It's qualifying day in Brisbane, and the GFR trio have just headed back to their garage after what had been an okay session. Thea Alvarez, Jeremiah Brooke, and Stacie Houston qualified eighth, 15th and 18th respectively, thanks in part to the event organizers' decision to ditch last season's convoluted qualifying procedure in favor of a more traditional approach.

The three were just chilling and talking about tomorrow's race when they had an unexpected visitor - Lam Chow-Cheung. The Jag driver's letter to Thea was one of the things that restored her faith in her abilities and inspired her to a top ten finish in Esmerel, but she hadn't thanked them yet for that personally. She was just about to do so when the masked driver approached her first, bar of chocolate in hand, before offering the same to her two other teammates. "For me? How sweet," spoke Stacie, while Jeremiah gave them a manly hug and said "Thanks, dude!" Lam didn't mind being called dude, especially upon knowing that the term is unisex in Yeezie culture.

"Lam," Thea spoke, "I read and kept your letter, and I must say, you really have a way with words. You helped me get through that slump I've been in, and I thank you for that. Friends?" They didn't speak, but Thea somehow just knew that they'd been smiling underneath that mask.

Just then Kai Qiang barged into the garage as if searching for something. He reached over to grab Lam's mask and pull it off, saying "Take that thing off, man! What's the point of coming out if you're still going to hide who you are?" before turning to Thea, ignoring the look of surprise on her face. "Have you seen Chang?"'

"Uh.... I think he's at the 46 hauler?" Thea replied with a hint of uncertainty in her voice. "But hey, what's the big idea?"

"Yeah. like, don't force Lam if they don't want to," added Jeremiah, pocketing the pack of raisins Lam brought for his and Stacie's son Jericho, who's too young to attend races and is thus back home with his (Jeremiah's) parents in St. Kanye. "Or maybe they will in time, but let them decide on that time,"

"I can't say I'm not a bit curious about it myself though," said Stacie. "I think they really look good under the mask, but yeah, all in good time."

"I can't say I'm not a bit curious about it myself though," said Stacie. "I think they really look good under the mask, but yeah, all in good time."

"Fuck that noise!" said Qiang. "If you see someone cut themselves, you sit there and watch or you say something? This the same!"

There was still a lively conversation going on when Houzhi Chang appeared. "There you are!" he said in Chinese. "I've been looking everywhere for you! What are you doing over here?"

"I was looking for you!"

Chang laughed. "Wow, we're really organized..." They switched back to English and excused themselves.

Tashi Zakhilwal, Leujouje, and Andre Massena arrived at the track early in the morning so Tashi could shoot photos in the warm dawn light. In addition to the photos for Leujouje's modeling portfolio she also took a few pictures of the crews preparing the track and a couple shot with Leujouje sitting in Massena's lap. Tashi still had no clue what Leujouje saw in him, but it wasn't really her business. Their relationship was not stopping Leujouje from pursuing her own dreams.

Massena had never seen photography until a few months ago when he stumbled into Jouoangquoi, and he was still not used to it. When Tashi showed him the photos she'd taken, he spent several minutes studying each one, marveling at the realism and the level of detail. He sat very close to Tashi while they looked at the photos, and she was not quite sure if he was trying to get a better look at the pictures or a better view down the front of her dress. Or maybe both.

Tashi and Leujouje were still fiddling around with the camera and photos when Massena left to get ready for the race.

Soon enough, the crowds filled in the grandstands and the drivers got suited up and climbed in their cars. There was a good crowd. Sword Islanders were a little confusing sometimes, but they enjoyed the excitement of a good day at the race track. Qiang took his place in the 2nd row, directly behind Chris Holmes, and immediately started planning how he was going to nudge the Mel's Ultra Mart car out of his way, right over there... It worked almost exactly the way Qiang had pictured it in his head, and he took the lead and lead a few laps before Stacie Houston caught up with him. He seemed to be battling Stacie Houston a lot lately. "Ha! Here we go again!" he said. They swapped the lead a few times, and then some of NSSCRA's other leading ladies got in the mix.

"Spicy Dumpling coming up on your left," Qiang's spotter told him.

"What???"

"Hendo!" the spotter clarified. "Coming up on your left!" By this time, Hendo was close enough that Qiang could figure out what was going on anyway.

He ran near the front pretty much all day, but he was looking for more than just a respectable finish. As it got toward the end of the race, he realized he could win this one if he kept pushing and didn't fuck it up. With two laps to go he was battling Wilma for the lead. She was fresh off a big win and she was trying to make it two, but Qiang thought he could beat her. Little by little, he pulled ahead and widened his lead, until by the time they crossed the finish line he was a few car-lengths ahead.

"Whoo! We are back!" he said triumphantly.

He did a few burnouts with the Pharaki flag fluttering from his window, and everything seemed right with the world.

At least until the adrenaline subsided and he remembered that there were things like wars and poverty, and Mendok was probably going to kick him in her sleep when they went to bed.

蒙面的真相 (Naamioitu totuus/The Masked Truth)

Postby Kimi-Suomi » Mon Mar 28, 2022 12:00 pm

What even happened? How...Why...Was it a good thing...or not? Those were the thoughts of Lam Chow-Cheung as they sat on a bench in Brisbane and pondered the weekend as a whole. But it wasn't the race itself that controlled all thoughts...it was what came before it. What came before the race was something that they didn't quite know what to think...and something they're unsure about what it means for him, for everyone involved...and the rest of the season as a whole.

It all started with some bars of chocolate and a pack of raisins, delivered in person to GFR because...well, just because they felt it was the right thing to do. He never properly thanked them for that letter they send right at this season's start and while that letter they sent to Thea was a part of the payback, they felt that Stacie and Jeremiah deserved something as well - hence the chocolate for the three of them plus one for Ilya back in Saint Kanye and those raisins for Jericho, the child of two of the best drivers on the planet.

They weren't sure what reception would be to these gifts...but whatever expectations they had for what would happen, they would be blown out of the water. They all were very...happy that they were here and happy that Lam had gone out of their way to do this. Three things happened that would make the heart behind swell to a point that had never been reached since...the time before. First, Houston saying "For me? How sweet" - something so small yet for someone like Lam, so impactful. Then came Jeremiah Brooke, with a big old hug and a booming "Thanks, dude!" - something that felt so warm and so kind that it certainly felt like they were in caring hands. And lastly, the crescendo - Thea thanking them for the letter, saying that they "helped me get through that slump I've been in, and I thank you for that." She even wanted to be their friend - a moment so moving to them, they struggled to speak. It was all almost overwhelming for them and while nobody could see it behind that mask, Lam was...smiling. The biggest smile they've had in a long while...all thanks to the kindness of these 3 Yeezies.

But that would all change when Kai Qiang arrived. Lam had, of course, idolised the Chinese racing legend both before and after the dark time, so to actually see him in the flesh was certainly great...another great moment to add to the pile of great moments that this day had become. And then it happened...the moment he wasn't expecting at all, but one that would change everything. Qiang had obviously heard of Lam and about that makes they wear and decided to take matters into his own hand. Before Lam had time to react, that mask they held dear was gone - removed by quick hands from #44 - and suddenly, Lam's face was out in the open - eye shadow and all - for all to see.

For a while, Lam was...stunned. Stunned to a point that what had just transpired didn't immediately click. All they could see was the shock on the faces of those at GFR - then the convo they and Qiang had. "Take that thing off, man! What's the point of coming out if you're still going to hide who you are?" - the words from their inspiration that rang in the ear, as were the defence GFR held for them - "what's the big idea?" asked Thea, "don't force Lam if they don't want to" from Brooke, "I think they really look good under the mask, but yeah, all in good time" from Houston. Qiang came back with something too..."If you see someone cut themselves, you sit there and watch or you say something? This the same!" Did Qiang really think...they were...that far into the dark?

They ended up on their knees amidst the chaos, finally clicking that the mask that protected the face they were hiding was now gone...and in the hands of the one who kept them going. They started to panic, started to wonder if everything was crashing down...but then they stopped. They knew that they had to take control of the situation...before assumptions were made without their consent. With a voice that was starting to quiver and the tears beginning to form, Lam Chow-Cheung decided to speak...and tell everyone in that room the answer to that question...They would struggle to get through it at times, but it had to be done...to clear the air...and for everyone's sake.

"I had to hide...because that was what I felt was the right thing to do. I'm sorry, Qiang, that you..., a legend of Chinese racing and an...inspiration to me right from the start, had to do....that. I'm sorry...I'm not who you...want me to be. I'm sorry I'm not...normal...but...I had to do this...I had to...and I will tell you why.

"Ever since I was 6 years old, I have always felt...different to everyone else. Back in Hongxai, I was not...really a social child and I never really...talked to anyone outside my family. House Lam was always there for me whenever I felt like...a nobody and it was them that helped me get into motorsports and follow my...dreams of being a great driver...like you, Qiang. I was actually...quite good at getting around a track and ever since I started down that road, the Lams all supported me and my efforts...even if I was just with my team all the time and just doing my own thing.

"But then I...discovered my true self and...came out as non-binary. It was makeup that...made me realise this, my...fascination with it finally making things click in my head. It felt great to...actually in point exactly why...I felt different and most of the world supported me in this regard...drivers, engineers, fans...I had expected the worst...but actually got mostly support...

"Well...except...except those who mattered most...who REALLY...mattered to me. Initially, the rest of the Lams supported me like all the rest, saying that they would "support me no matter what"...and they did...for a while. Then I decided...I wanted to wear makeup...like I had always wanted to do as a boy...and they...well, they...they...they...they didn't like that at all. They said it was "abhorrent" for a boy to wear makeup, even though I wasn't a boy no more - I was a person. They...they completely turned on me in every single way possible, and the words they used...were filled with daggers. Their favourite word was, of course, 怪物 - "monster" or "freak", but there were others too - 恶魔 (demon), 魔鬼 (devil) and, absolutely worst of all, they called me...behind my back...when they thought I couldn't hear...怪胎男孩..."freak boy". That one stung...it really, really did...Sure, I could take it from people I didn't know or those I'd never met...but this was my Father, my Mother, my entire family...all ganging up on me...and I didn't understand why...They...they were the people who raised me, who...taught me everything I knew....and yet here they were...referring to me with as much venom as vipers.

"The year before I came to NSSCRA, they finally snapped...They packed...everything I owned and legally moved me to a separate apartment in Hongxai in my name...but without me ever knowing. One day....after a race, they brought me there and told...told...told me "Here you are, freak boy...here is you're home now." They forbade me from going back...ever...and they didn't want to see me again until I "decide to be a boy again".

"It was in that moment of despair that I decided to wear that...because I still loved them. How couldn't I? They...were demons, but...they were also...my family...and I can't...just drop all the good...they did for me before it all fell apart. So...I thought...I...I thought that if they didn't see my face, they would see me as normal again...There...that's why.

"To them, I am "Lam in all but name"...so I...I thought...that if they only saw the name "Lam Chow-Cheung" and not the face of Lam Chow-Cheung...then maybe...maybe they would actually support me again...like before...like the good days...But I know...that is a pipedream...and though I think that it is a pipedream...I still wear it because...without it, what am I? Without this mask, I am...simply a broken human...and that is the worst fate of them all. I do...one day...want to feel like I...don't need that mask...but I know that if I did...I would...just be a freak...and I can't let that happen.

"So...yeah. That is Lam Chow-Cheung...and why I wear...that mask...I'm sorry if I...broke the mood or...just rambled on for too long...but Kai asked me a question...and I had to...get the answer off my chest...one way or another...Thea, I-I will be more than happy to be your friend. Jeremiah, I...thank you for the hug and Stacie, I...will take that compliment...to heart and I thank you for...it. I'm sorry I didn't meet you...under better circumstances, Kai Qiang...and I'm sorry I had to...bare you with everything in the end. I hope that...the next time we speak, this will be...much different. Much...different."

With that, they finally fell silent...With that, their story had been told...With that, the truth of that mask had finally been shared. They couldn't remember much after that...except for the eye shadow that was dripping down their face with the tears. Except for someone else coming to find Qiang and the Sherpas excusing themselves...the mask placed in front of them before departure. Except for the words Marx told them afterwards..."You were very brave in doing that...and I'm proud you did it". Except for the tears in their eyes as they fell asleep, the mind replaying that moment over and over and over again.

They ended up in 30th on Sunday, Karvonen in 21st, and back in the mask, Lam could hide the disappointment...and the workings of the mind. Qiang won the race with the Yeezies spread out, Thea and Stacie in 7th and 8th and Brooke down in 22nd, and now the points standings are a bit mixed up. Not that Lam was thinking about that anyway.

The events of Saturday continued to be replayed in the mind, each time a new aspect the focus - the shock of the moment, the shock on Thea's face, the time they spent frozen in disbelief, the emotions they felt during and after their tale, the emptiness they felt when all was said and done. What happened at GFR had an effect on them...but they weren't sure what exactly. Their secret was out to an audience of 4 (5 if you include the one in search of Qiang)...but at what cost? Did everyone understand them better now that the reasons were out in the open...or were they just as confused as ever? Did what happened that day affect their driving today...or was that just Lam at their best?

As they looked at themself in the mirror, mask and sans mask, one thing was for certain:
Nothing would ever be the same for the masked enby.

Qiang pulled out his phone and pulled up a piece of pornographic fan art that someone had posted online. He had seen it before, but he still grimaced a little when he saw it again. It was hard to look at. The image was a very violent scene with Kai Qiang being sexually assaulted by the Sherpa R&B singer Blingma, and the artist had clearly put a lot of effort into it. The likenesses of Qiang and Blingma were both painstakingly accurate.

"People post stuff like this because they think I'm not manly enough," he explained, showing the image to Lam. "There are hundreds of drawings like that on the internet. People send me death threats and hatemail. There some times I cry because there so much of it. But you have to stand up. When you put this on..." Here Qiang held up the mask. "You letting them win." He set the mask down and pushed it toward Lam, giving it back to them.

He was getting ready to excuse himself and go look for Chang when Chang showed up looking for him.

Finally, Qiang Gets His Ticket In

This blog was written by Derrick Carlisle, Jaguar Racing's Social Media Manager

I will be completely honest with you all...I didn't know what to expect from the Brisbane 200 here in Sword Island. Sometimes, this track likes to bring out the chaos and other times..not really. It's a track that just decided on a whim what type of race it would like...and today? Brisbane rolled a 3, nothing too crazy but still with stuff to talk about.

For us here at Jaguar Racing, it was a case of 1 driver gaining ground and the other 2 losing some - and it's not the ones you think. Alfonso Mercado (@AM64) ended up the one gaining ground, his 9th today alongside a mixed up final standings sending #64 back to 3rd in the points standings. His teammates were the ones falling back, with Maddison Riley-Jones (@MaddyRJ03) ending up down in 16th today and 12th in points and Michael Stefan (@Stefan07) falling right down to 23rd on the day and 18th on points - work still needed in the next 6 weeks to somehow make the Chase for JR's usual Chase driver.

It took 10 rounds but finally, Kai Qiang was going back to the dance as he booked his Chase ticket with a victory over Wilma von Cärinthen and Yraaga Gilli’i in a race that saw Team Blue do alright all things considered and only 5 retirements all race. Ricky Lee was the best non-charter in 18th, Aurélia Karvonen did very well to beat Jeremiah Brooke and Stefan to 21st while Lam Chow-Cheung had another race weekend of starting 17th, finishing 30th. They looked a bit deep in thought, even behind that mask it was easy to tell, after that performance and all I will say is this - we know you've got something great within you, Lam...one day, you will have a chance to show it off to the world. Just keep the faith...we believe in you.

Six spots left and now, we're getting to the weekends that are certainly the most fun - starting in Vilita. We will have the traditional wacky schedule to deal with, of course: Everlong at Lonngeylin on Friday, Toys '4' All 500 on Saturday Night and the Vilaye Clash in Vilisorma on Sunday - which, of course, we will be taking part in - Micky and Maddy already in the Feature, Mercado looking to qualify in. Vilita, Tropicoast, Peninsula, HNE Half Mile, Hap City Raceway, Jalton - the final six that will decide everyone's fate. Let the fun begin!

It was supposed to be a lighthearted meetup between drivers, but now the tension hanging around the Gale Force Racing garage was so thick it could be cut with a knife.

Lam Chow-Cheung had come bearing gifts for the team, which they thanked them for, and all was supposed to be well, only for Kai Qiang to come and look for his crew chief Houzhi Chang. How hard could it be? Just walk into the garage, ask a driver or crew member, wait for an answer, thank them, and move on. But Qiang added a few extra steps: go over to a driver not belonging to that garage, take notice of the mask they're wearing, get pissed about that mask, then rip off that mask.

"Qiang, no!" Thea Alvarez tried to stop the Sherpalander, but his hands were too quick. "What the actual blazes, bro?!" Jeremiah Brooke blurted out in surprise. Stacie Houston just stood there, speechless. Lam themselves was also speechless - at least for a few seconds, as soon after they started to tell their story with tears in their eyes. The GFR trio shook their heads as the TJUN-ian rookie let them know that their family used to support them in their racing endeavors, only to be exiled by the very same people as soon as they came out as non-binary. The mask was their way of hiding their face from their family's and in fact the world's judging eyes. Now, Qiang felt Lam didn't need to do that anymore, hence why he did what he did. The trio did get where he was coming from, but still, they found it rude of him to act before Lam, a driver he had no business with, could themselves get their chance.

Thea offered Lam a hug, Stacie a hanky to wipe their tears with. The trio looked at Qiang bitterly - sure, they all got along with him on a good day, but that day, they felt they had no choice but to kick him out of the garage, because friends don't let friends expose others without their permission. Luckily the arrival of Chang, who was looking for him, saved them the effort of doing so, with Lam themselves leaving soon after.

"Say what you want, but they do actually look good under the mask."

"Not the time, Stace."

The Brisbane 200 was nothing out of the ordinary for the French NSSCRA teams. They had their usual mediocre P30-ish results.

What happened during the days between the Brisbane 200 and the Toys '4' All 500 was much more exciting. Lannes and Massena returned to Chieujeau to check in with the French forces who were still camped there -- only to find the town in the midst of a battle. Tashi Zakhilwal and Leujouje had accompanied Massena, planning to shoot some photos with the distinctive Jouoangquoirais architecture as a backdrop. When they saw that there was a ruckus going on, Tashi and Leujouje decided to hang back while the Frenchmen went ahead to make sure it was safe.

It wasn't safe. An arrow whizzed past Jean Lannes' head, leaving a little gash in his ear. Another lodged itself in a wooden signpost that Massena was leaning on, and third lodged itself in the chest of a guy from Lannes' staff killing him in minutes. Lannes clutched his ear and ducked behind a stockpile of large burlap sacks of rice, just in time to miss being skewered by the next barrage of arrows. Massena took cover behind the signpost -- which wasn't thick enough to make good cover, but it was better than nothing.

Leujouje came out with her hands up and yelled in Jouen and French for the men on both sides to hold their fire. Tashi tried to grab her and pull her back before she walked into the line of fire. "What are you doing?"

One of the archers ignored Leujouje and took another shot at Massena, who ran into a nearby barn looking for some better shelter, startled some animals, and got chased right back out of the barn with an angry bull hot on his heels. Meanwhile, Lannes had drawn a pistol and returned fire, trying to scare off the archers. Both women fled back the way they came, toward the airport. Leujouje called out to the Jouoangquoirens she passed, telling them to hold their fire, and saying the whole thing was a misunderstanding -- but she still kept moving toward the airport. The situation had obviously spiraled out of control, and she had no intention of dying for France.

By the time Massena escaped from the bull, he was out of breath and covered with mud, he had twisted his ankle, he had stepped in a pile of manure (he didn't notice what kind, but it was definitely manure), and he had no idea where he was. On the plus side nobody was shooting at him. He debated whether to try to find his own corps and take command, find Napoleon and ask for instructions, or escape back to the airport. He was still sitting there considering his options when someone prodded him with a French bayonet. "It's me, Massena," he said, assuming the one who had prodded him must be French since they were using a French weapon.

"Nichin chait?" said a man's voice that was clearly not French. "Cheau chanc!"

"God damn it!"

NSSCRA 12 | Round 11 Preview: Lonngeylin Ring

Toys '4' All 500, Lonngeylin Ring, Lonngeylin, Vilita

Lonngeylin Ring :: Information

About the Track:
Track Location: Lonngeylin, Vilita, Atlantian Oceania
Lap Record: 14.995 (Yraaga Gilli'i - Season 9)
Track Lap Length: 1/3rd Mile

The Lonngeylin Ring is a one-third mile Short Track the offers the possibility of a high speed racing line utilizing the greatest elevation change per distance traveled on the circuit. The 'Ring' features elevation changes similar to those on a multi-mile Road Course packed into a traditional short track experience with two different bankings on opposite ends of the race track and relatively flat straightaways offering a unique experience and challenging course to perfect for the Crew Chiefs.

The most famous finish at the Toys '4' all 500 came during NSSCRA Season 9 when Stacie Houston bumped Yraaga Gilli'i out of the way as the Vilita & Turori Motorsports driver looked for their third victory at the Lonngeylin Ring. Vilita and Turori Motorsports have applied to have two local drivers added to the lineup - in priority order the #60 (or 77) CoCoCo Dart of NSSCRA Everlong Series Driver Rockii Ezis and the #49(or #77) Arcticala Electrical Dart of NSSCRA Everlong Series Driver and former Lonngeylin Ring Track Champion Lotara Novorali

Crossing the Start Finish line drivers will enter Turns 1 and 2. The fastest line will be around the bottom of the track where drivers will have to dive down as the 20 degrees of banking begin at the top of the track where the outside wall is level in altitude to the flat front straightaway. The inside of the turn however drops down and drivers will gain speed as their momentum pulls them along toward the gravitational center.

ImageImage

Exiting turn 2 the drivers will climb back up the track returning to station zero down the back straight away where they will have the option to stay at the same elevation on the low side of the track or climb to the high side and build up potential energy as they climb to the tracks highest point.

ImageImage

Both the high and low line in Turns 3 and 4 and provide their advantages as the high line towers above the rest of the track in the 33 degree banked Turn. The exit of Turn 4 is the most dangerous part of the track as cars from the high line come roaring back down the track at high speed intersecting with cars who have taken the shorter route around the track but are pushing towards the outside wall having been unable to use the high banking to help them through the turn.

Fan Access:

Fans will watch the race from the large Main Grandstand on the Front Stretch. There is no public seating in Turns 1 & 2 as this is where the teams will be based for the weekend outside the track. The Grandstand in Turns 1 & 2 is reserved for teams, crew members, spotters and sponsor representatives. There will be a fanzone outside Turn 3 & 4 where fans may find Activities, Souvenirs and Sponsor Tents. General Admission fans will also be able to watch the race from the hill in Turns 3 & 4. The campgrounds are located on the backstretch side of the track. New for this season, a large jumbotron has been added to the fanzone to increase capacity in the general admission sections. The track will be selling more tickets than there are seats with standing room access available to fans whose primary interests may be the off track activities or may not want to sit for the entire event.

Where to Eat:

Vilitan Motorsport fan's favorite vendor "We'll Fry It" will be present at the Lonngeylin Ring. The business model is supreme as they don't supply any of the food with the price of the meal. "We'll Fry It"s profitable business model allows the customer to bring whatever they want... and "We'll Fry It" fries it for them for a nominal fee. We'll fry it also has a selection of things that fly, things that moo, things that swim and even candies that can be purchased and fried for an additional fee. "We'll Fry It" will fry anything under 2 square feet in size for just 7 tures or three separate items for 15 tures. Each item includes a full selection of condiments at no additional cost.

In addition to "We'll Fry It" there will be a standard selection of foods at the central eatery with all the local cuisine from throughout Atlantian Oceania and even abroad. There will be a Cocoa-bo tent in the fanzone outside turn 4 with a full selection of the most popular Cocoa-bo delectables and there will also be a pop-up 'CoCo-Mart' location with a selection of food and essentials in the campground area of the backstretch. Dagan sandwich shop Subhouse has also been added to the list of approved vendors for the expected increased capacity event.

FanZone Information

Many local corporations will be sponsoring booths and activities throughout the fanzone. The Vilisorma Beverage Company always brings a spirited display and the Vilaye Booth in turn 4 will be handing out samples. Fans will not be able to bring cans of Vilaye into the grandstand with them and will have to request the special edition paper based containers if purchasing to bring into the Grandstand.

Tiones Lumber will be set up outside Turn 3 with their mini-lumberjack competition fan zone. Fans can line up to compete in many famed wood-based competitions such as the 40-foot speed climb, Long rolling, the Standing Block Chop and there will even be a team relay. The best times each day win prizes from Tiones Lumber. First prize winners will be excluded from winning on subsequent days but alternate prize winners can compete for the big prize the following day. Fans who beat the all time-records could find themselves winning free Paddock Passes or other great prizes from Tiones Lumber.

Tropicorp Racing Supply's 'Pit Stop Challenge" display will finally return and will be present near the end of the back straightaway where fans will be able to test their ability to change an NSSCRA tyre or act as the fuel person so long as they first sign a release form indemnifying Tropicorp and the Lonngeylin Ring facility of any injury that may occur as they attempt to set the fast times to qualify for a daily prize drawing from Tropicorp.

Lonngeylin based Lighthouse Lightworx will have an all-touch extra-sensory display zone including the glasses-free Virtual Reality zone. While the GFVR zone is a must-see the lines are likely to be long as just two fans can enter the GFVR experience at one time and the experience takes between two and five minutes per person. Lighthouse Lightworx will also be an associate sponsor on the #49 Arcticala Electrical Dart to be driven by former track champion Lotara Novorali for Vilita and Turori Motorsports Novorali Enterprises in the Tier 2 Everlong Contenders Series event.

The events major sponsor Toys '4' All will have a large tent showcasing the Racing Collectibles line including a selection of low-print run promotional cars and a souvenir Toys '4' All 500 race program car. Toys '4' All driver River 'Shark' Suzgar II will be signing autographs before qualifying.

Olga Semyonovna had always felt that the exit that Dinggu Wang had gotten from the Urotovsky-Gatutin Motorsports Division was not the exit that the Chinese Pharaki driver deserved. Truth be told, Gatutina actually didn’t want to force Wang out of the organization in the first place, but outside forces (mostly the work of the “financial adviser” Yurievsky) had come together to engineer Wang’s departure from behind Gatutina’s back. In fact, Yurievsky had done more than just that; he forced Wang out of the team by selling what was supposed to be Wang’s charter to their ARTS rivals, Duisdorf, and forcing Gatutina to pick which of her three drivers she was going to be given the boot. Wang, upon learning of his dismissal from none other than Yurievsky himself, refused to answer any more calls from Gatutina or her staff, essentially making her own choice for her. And then her problems were compounded when Guillermo Archer collapsed at the end of the race at the Yoggy Oval and he subsequently announced his retirement from motorsports for medical reasons, resulting in yet another big shakeup to UrGa Motorsports’ lineup coming into the new NSSCRA season.

Throughout the offseason, Gatutina had attempted to make contact with Wang, hoping to apologize for the conduct of her colleagues with regards to the “termination” of his contract. But Gatutina’s calls went unanswered until the second race of the season, when NSSCRA went to the Sherpa Empire to race at Ramba for the TMW 500. Wang finally answered Gatutina’s call, and after Olga gave her sincerest apologies and the apologies of the entire UrGa Motorsports Division to him, Wang finally got to the reason why he had accepted the call in the first place: he wanted to take part in the TMW 400, the IRACT race that was used to decide the recipients of the open charters for the actual NSSCRA Multiversal race, and he wanted to ask Gatutina if he could use the car that he had last season to participate. To say that Gatutina literally jumped for joy at that moment would be an understatement, as it meant that Wang didn’t hold the decision to dump him against her or the team. Gatutina agreed to supply Wang not only with his car but also with an entire NSSCRA-trained pit crew. And initially, it appeared that the elder statesman had lost none of his touch on the tarmac as he set the fastest time in qualifying for the TMW 400, earning him a well-deserved pole position. But eventually, when the time came to race, Wang dropped away from the lead all the way down to 13th place; unlucky for some, with Wang possibly included in that group. Nevertheless, it was still a respectable top 15 finish, and Wang thanked Gatutina and his UrGa crew for letting him know that he still hadn’t lost his touch yet.

It had been more than two months since the TMW 400, and once again Wang had dropped away from the public eye. It could be assumed that he had resumed living a quiet life back in the Sherpa Empire, maybe popping up once in a while to watch the occasional IRACT race, but no one really knows. And then Vilaye Energy Drink announced the eligibility list for their Clash, and Dinggu Wang was one of the names on the list. Since he was an inactive driver though (a driver who wasn’t participating in the current NSSCRA season), Wang needed to actually announce if he was taking part in the Clash or not. And when Wang hadn’t said anything to suggest that he wouldn’t be taking part in the Clash, Olga Gatutina decided to take matters into her own hands this time.

Gatutina sought out Wang in the Sherpa Empire once again and, after informing him that he was actually eligible for the Vilaye Clash, she offered to once again provide Wang with full support and assistance from the UrGa team: mechanics, engineers, pit crew; if Wang wanted it then Gatutina would give it to him. Wang was initially unsure about this deal this time; he didn’t know if he was ready to get back into racing full-time once again. But Gatutina assured him that this wasn’t going to be a full-time thing; the only races that Wang needed to attend was the Clash itself. Just one more race, and then he could go back to Pharak and do whatever he wanted. It did take some more talking between Wang and Gatutina than the last time she offered UrGa’s help to the Chinese Sherpalander driver, but eventually Wang agreed to come back to stock car racing one more time.

For Olga Gatutina, she saw it as the least that she could do to give Wang the proper exit from the sport that he deserved.

For all his talk about missing being behind the wheel of a NSSCRA-spec car, Guillermo Archer did feel that there were a few benefits to being retired and now working for Urotovsky-Gatutin Motorsports in an advisory capacity, and that was the freedom to move around the garage area without attracting too much attention. It was no secret that most drivers preferred to stick to their own garages, and if they did go out of their garage, it was to visit a teammate or a friend. Drivers just didn’t go strolling around the garage area when they fancied it. But team staff and crew weren’t under the same scrutiny. Everyone knew that the staffers and crew were running around trying to do their jobs, so nobody interfered with them. And it was the same case with Gil. Sure, he still attracted the occasional stare and maybe even glare, but now that he was wearing the red-green-red team wear of UrGa as opposed to his classic blue and pink firesuit (which he occasionally swapped for white and red when he was running his second scheme for Caduceus Pharmacy) he was getting less attention than usual. And it was probably for the best since Gil was not looking where he was going anyway, so engrossed was he with reading fanfiction on his tablet.

Gil had finally caved in and looked up the works that that new GFR driver Ilya Tsunopin had purportedly written on the Internet (mostly for fun but also to potentially get a read on the mind behind the individual), and this had resulted in him going down the deep dark rabbit hole that was “real person fiction,” fictional stories involving real people (usually actors and singers but also apparently including motorsports drivers, as Gil found to his mild surprise) written by the fans of those famous real people. Those stories ranged from “regular” stories of this and that just talking and interacting to novel-length biographies about love affairs to the torrid and sordid material that Tsunopin had apparently come up with involving a certain Kai Qiang. Gil had been able to read only a few pages of Tsunopin’s works before he was forced to set it aside because his imagination was getting away from himself. He, just like Leo Baxter when the latter had hit on Qiang at Esmerel a few weeks ago, needed a cold shower after reading those works.

Gil was reading a work titled The One Hundred Thousand Love Lives of Ricky Lee, a softer and more comedic tale about the Direwolf driver’s romantic exploits (or more accurately lack of them) when he found himself at just the right place at the right time to witness something he had never expected to see. Gil was standing a few garages away from Gale Force Racing’s units when he saw none other than Kai Qiang himself reach out and take off the mask of what had to be Lam Chow-Cheung. They were the only driver on the grid to wear a mask at all times (not a face mask but an actual mask that made them featureless except for the eyeholes), and while Gil had wondered how Lam could wear that mask under their helmet or if they actually did so, he never had had an issue with them wearing the mask. But apparently Qiang did, and from Gil’s perspective, it looked like Qiang had simply reached out and yanked away the mask. Gil was too far away to hear anything that was going on at the GFR garage, but it was clear from Lam’s body language that they were letting a lot of things out, having been prompted by Qiang’s removal of their mask. At that moment, Gil felt like a voyeur, that he wasn’t supposed to be seeing any of this, but he also couldn’t stop himself from watching this saga unfold before his eyes. The three GFR drivers eventually led Qiang out of their garage out of concern for the poor boy on their knees, and as far as they were concerned, that was the end of the story for them. But for Gil Archer, things were just beginning. He knew that he had just stuck his nose where it didn't belong, but now that he had begun his part in this story, he was determined to see it through to the bitter end. Confronting Qiang about this was, for him, a good first step towards that.

"I'm not here to fight, I just wanna talk," Gil said when some of Qiang's crew recognized him as the asshole who was talking shit about the 44 driver's wives and blocked him from entering the garage. "Qiang, I just wanna talk! About Lam! Yes, I saw all of it. Look, that wasn't nice what you did to Lam back there, man. That was a real dick move. In fact, that was a dick move I would have expected myself to do. I don't know what your issue with their mask is, but I just think you shouldn't go around yanking off people's masks if they've got a reason for wearing them."

Later that night, Gil Archer found himself walking towards the HM garage holding a sheet of paper with a few words printed on it. "Oh, how the tables have turned, Gilly boy," he said to himself. It had only been s few years ago when Gil had been vandalizing the anti-racism and anti-homophobia posters that the TJUN-ians had put up around the garages, and now he was about to put up a poster of his own on the garage of a TJUN-ian. Gil knew that there were many other ways that he could have done this, like via a text message or an email, but both those aforementioned methods seemed too detached and impersonal for him. And he couldn't just write a letter because he didn't know the full story. So leaving behind this note, or poster or whatever the hell it was, would have to do. Besides, according to what Gil's son William had told him about his friend Donny Fitzpatrick's experiences with another TJUN-ian driver on the WGP2 paddock, leaving behind these notes was very much the TJUN-ian way of getting things across.

The note itself was simple, a four-word sentence written in Chinese, Finnish, and English. Since Gil only spoke one out of three of those languages, he had to turn to a translation website to convey the message he wanted to deliver, and he hoped that the website had correctly translated the words he wanted to say. He ran the translations through other translators, making sure that they were as close to what a native speaker would actually say. But the time for second guessing was over. It was time to act. Gil taped the note onto the wall of the garage where anybody could see it. It felt strange for him to do it, but what's done was done. He had said his piece, and now it was up to the others to react to it.

The Team Blue Shop, Hapilopper City
The day after returning from Sword Island
The mood among the Team Blue crew for the weekly Monday post-race meeting was much lighter than in recent weeks. With the crew chief swap, Chris Holmes and Taylor Henderson could feel like they could express their concerns with their crew a lot better than in previous weeks. The result was that Pat Howard, Chris’s new crew chief, and Lawrence Malloy, Taylor’s new crew chief, could get the car set up to their drivers’ liking, and as a result, the two ran well all day. That was a good thing, as a huge race in Vilita was coming up, on the little bullring in Lonngeylin, and Team Blue needed to be at their best.

On top of that, it seemed like the trailer incident was behind them. The team took the remnants of the trailer, took what they needed, and left the rest in a junkyard in Sword Island. There was little else that needed to be said, other than it happened, and it was done. The trailer driver had been fired, a replacement found, and the matter was closed.

With no real arguing during this week’s meeting, the team could spend their energies talking about what had happened during race weekend, including what they heard were rumors of an ugly incident before the race involving Lam Chow-Cheung and Kai Qiang.

“So, what happened?” Drake Stevenson asked. “Lamb Chow is the one with the mask, right?”

“Yeah, supposedly Kai Qiang walked up to him and ripped it off,” Frank Bronson replied. “Something about coming out. I guess they were trying to conceal their identity because, I don’t know, something. It’s not really my business and I didn’t really ask.”

“Huh,” Drake said. “I figured Lamb Chow had been burned in a bad wreck and they wanted to hide their burns.”

“Yeah, either way I heard they took it really badly,” Frank said. “Personally, I think we should do something for them. That was a pretty asshole move thing of Qiang to do.”

Everyone nodded their heads at the idea before going quiet, thinking about what to do for Cheung. Drake and Chris had their own ideas, both of which sounded pleasing.

“Fruit basket,” Chris blurted out.

“A big ham,” Drake blurted out.

“Why not both?” Taylor asked. “I mean, Drake and I can go to Honeyloving Ham and get a nice one to go to Vilita, Chris, you and Angie can go get a nice fruit basket, why not do that?”

“Sounds good to me,” Drake said. “I mean, poor dude. Obviously there was a reason he was wearing a mask. It’s probably not my business, and he ain’t hurting nobody by wearing it, so why should Qiang interject there?”

“Maybe we should all wear masks in Vilita,” Chris interjected. “I’d like to see Qiang try to pull a mask off my head.”

Everyone looked at Chris like he had sprouted a second and a third head.

“Can we not?” Drake said. “This isn’t about us. Let’s not make it about us. All we’re going to do is deliver a fruit basket and a ham to Lamb Chow and that will be that. Just to let him know that we’ve got his back and that we support him. Because, honestly, I think that’s the best thing we can do right now. If we go to Vilita all wearing masks, we’re going to only hurt the situation, make ourselves look like a bunch of asses, and possibly do more harm than good to poor Lamb Chow. He don’t need that.”

“Fair point, but I’d still like to see Qiang pull off that stunt on any of us,” Chris groused.

“I wouldn’t because I wouldn’t want to be responsible for what came next,” Drake replied. “But, please, Holmes, I know you don’t like Qiang, but just… if you’re gonna do anything, send Lamb Chow a fruit basket and that’s it. Taylor and I are gonna go get a ham for him. God damn, I hope he’s not a vegetarian.”

Before the meeting adjourned, Amanda remembered one last thing.

“We need to get a card for him. I’ll go to Mel’s and get it, and we’ll sign it on the plane to Vilita,” Amanda said. “First thing when we get there, we’ll give him everything together. Just so he knows we support him.”

The Valentians – Race 10 – Multiversal: Brisbane 200 Powered By SI Electric, Brisbane International Raceway, Sword Island (Road Course); Everlong: Brisbane 125 Powered By Venom Energy Drink, Brisbane International Raceway, Sword Island (Road Course)

Valkyrie Valentijn Samantha Constantine and Marcus Alan Ariel Reynolds started off with relative closeness for this road course, with a 6th and 8th for Qualifications respectively. There was one Bryan Harrison from Tropicorp in his #5, but other than that, the two Valentians should be able to make it through together and to bumper draft and streamline off of one another. It was a sound plan on paper, with next to nothing to go wrong. It was not a stunt that was so outrageous, nor some manoeuvres that required a lot of thinking – keep up with one another, make it through to the end. Simple as that. It was always the simple plans that tend to backfire, and one that is on the road course. At one point in the race, Valentijn and Marcus got separated, in combination of Marcus' habit of keeping to the outside of the track, on top of the other drivers and their teammates being a little too clumped to each other. "Hey, are you holding up there?" Valentijn radioed and asked, perhaps a little concerned and worried for her friend who was once again struggling to catch up back to her after the pit stops. After a few seconds of silence, Marcus replied back, "If it was just one team, I think we should have been able to handle that. But there are several of them as of now. TJUN-ia, Saint Kanye, Tropicorp, it's quite a difficult task." Valentijn nodded, radioing back with an acknowledgement, "Good luck, man! Hey, do you want me to slow down a bit or do the usual?" "I'm too far behind, I don't think you should miss out this one for me again. Good luck!" And that was the end of the radio comms for the two Valentians. Valentijn could not help but feel that there might be something going on. Something that is amiss, but she simply could not put her finger on it. She will have to deal with it afterwards. As of then, there's a race.

For the time being, she did what she did best, going through the drivers that are paired up and teamed together a little too closely. As the last few laps approach, Valentijn was looking at Pyotr and Daryl at 1st and 2nd, followed by Alice and Robin behind her at 4th and 5th. Bryan and Jixaka from Tropicorp were on 10th and 11th. "Oh man, Marcus is right!" Valentijn thought to herself, noting the closely-knitted and bump-drafting teams that were in front of and behind her. It would take a bit of miracle for her to over the two in front of her. As luck would have it, as they do the last turn before the start-finish line with 4 laps to go, Valentijn decided to keep it to the inside, weaving in and out in order to get the openings and to ensure that she would not be overtaken by the other drivers as she took the longer routes. This proved to be the miracle that she needed, easily overtaking both Pyotr and Daryl and soon after, all she need to do was to make sure that they were kept at bay, as well as not doing any weird or dangerous turns that could end her race there and there. With the last lap approaching, and with 20 milliseconds away from Pyotr in second place (#22), Valentijn slammed the accelerator firmly and slowly, her eyes set on the finish line ahead of her. And once again, she did it. Passing through the finish line first, followed by Pyotr and Daryl, Valentijn did a victory lap followed by the usual spinning around the track, though only for a short while. She went up to the podium with the trophy in one hand, and then shaking the hands of Pyotr and Daryl and congratulating them in turn for their efforts and for giving her quite a difficult time there. "You guys did great, it's amazing! If Lexi is there with you guys, it would be a Saint Kanye 3-way podium, hehe!" She said her goodbyes, and off to her lounge quick.

She had to check on her best friend, more than anything ever. Granted, he didn't exactly have that bad of a finish at 15th, but it still must have stung to see your friend winning two races as of now while you are still struggling and was lost behind in the shadows. Valentijn got to the dropship first, with Clarissa and the rest of the Valentians having a bit of R&R just as their qualifications were over. "Oooh, hey, dear!" Clarissa said with a smile and a wave, then walking towards Valentijn, perhaps sensing that something was wrong, "Hmm, something the matter, Val?" Valentijn waved it off at first, then she asked Clarissa, "Ahh, nothing much. It's just about him, you know? I was worried, so here I am. Where's Marcus?" Clarissa processed the question for a while, then shrugged, "Ohhh, I haven't seen him in here yet. Maybe he's still in the garage." "All right, all right, I see," Valentijn replied with thanks and smiles. "I will be back later, all right? I just wanted to check on him, see if he is doing all right. And hey, all the best with your race tomorrow – to you and to the rest of you too! Don't worry too much about it, you guys got this! Just keep up!"

With that, Valentijn was out of the dropship, her helmet off but still in her white and blue firesuit. A few of the reporters and journalists were still chasing her and asking her questions because of course, they did. After all, she was the one that won the race at Sword Island, which she was more than happy with. However, it was still itching her, perhaps even aching her a little to assume that her best friend was a bit saddened by the outcome of it all. Everyone had their days after all, and Valentijn wanted to make sure that it was not all about her all the time. After 15 to 20 more minutes of journalists surrounding her, Valentijn was finally home-free, being able to slow jog straight to the garage of #77 and to see Marcus working on his car with the rest of his Valentian crew there. He noted Valentijn's presence, to which he waved and started a small talk, "Oh hey, Val! How are you doing? Oh hey, what's up? You are, you seem a bit out of breath, if I say so myself. Did you jog all the way here?" Valentijn sighed a little, then controlled her breathing; the jog was nothing much for her, but it was still a 400 meters jog nonetheless. "Hey, man! Ahh, I'm good myself, I mean. Well, you know, the race today. Listen, Marcus," she trailed off, choosing her words carefully. Between the two, there is absolutely no bad blood and have been best friends for decades. Still, it took a lot of effort for persons like Valentijn in order to make sure that she was not saying this in a condescending manner, or some fakely empathetic matter, one that Valentijn absolutely hates. "The race today," she continued, "I'm so sorry."

"Hmm, for what?" Marcus said, genuinely confused as to why his friend was suddenly apologising to him. He was aware of his performance himself, that much is certain. However, he was uncertain as to what does that has to do with Valentijn, let alone her apologising. "I mean, we did it fair and square, right? I really do doubt that you would cheat and sabotage my ride. We are just doing a post-race check as usual, you know?" Valentijn nodded and replied back, "I know, I know. I am not here to say that. For the record, no I did not do anything to your car, haha. I never would! Thanks for trusting me too. That is not it. I mean- I should have waited for you. I know you told me to go, but damn, man. I feel awful. I hope I don't sound patronising, but," Valentijn paused a bit in order to get her point across, "I just wish you will get a win of your own." Marcus nodded and smiled, understanding the plight that his best friend is getting. Since the days they have met each other, the two were never the one to sow rivalry and compete with each other that harshly. Sure, there were a bit of competition here and there, but it was still all in good fun. He walked up to Valentijn and offered her a handshake and a hug. "Hey, I never feel any sadness and doubt about you winning, Val. You should be more than happy that you got two wins already! I mean sure, I do wish that I get a win and to be honest, I do feel a little sad about the results that I am getting. At the same time, no hard feelings, eh! You won that race fairly, and I am glad. Besides, this isn't the end of the world. There are more races coming to us." As soon as he finished that sentence, Valentijn shook her best friend's hands again, followed by a small amount of tears that was welling up in her eyes. Marcus was a bit shocked, surprised even. "Oh shit. Hey, hey come on, don't do that. I will be fine, I promise. I really am, don't worry. Thank you, too, for inviting me and for letting me enjoy the thrills of it all. It will all be okay, all right? We will celebrate tomorrow, don't feel bad! There is always next time."

As the two reconciled, they then rested for the day after. In the meantime, with the qualifications done, the Valentians – both the main team and the Gardeners, also decided to rest for the race tomorrow. Come the race and the results, it wasn't that bad, by all accounts. For one, none of the Valentians and Gardeners met their DNFs on this road course. On top of that, both the Valentians and the Gardeners have been tight for the most of the race and especially at the end of it. With the exception of Anastasia who managed to finish 11th, the rest would see a close and clustered finish with Clarissa leading at 25th, with Jolyn at 26th, Anna at 27th, and Gwen at 29th. Holly fell behind a bit at 35th, but if only she got into 28th, that would perhaps make it a well-oiled Valentian-Gardener train of sorts, everyone bumper drafting and close together. "That was actually pretty good," Clarissa remarked, not fazed by the positions that she got into, "I mean, we did pretty well there in terms of keeping close to one another. Now what will need to do is to shift these positions for the next race, and we should be good!" Sounds like a plan, the rest of the Valentians thought, nodding and agreeing to Clarissa's remarks and analysis, one that they always value coming from her. With everyone accounted for and on the dropship, they made their way to their next place as quickly as possible. Valentijn sat on the middle chair, appropriately sized for her as the rest of the Valentians were scurrying around her. "Everything good, Val? Yesterday was something, eh?" Marcus asked, to which Valentijn replied, "Yeah, I'm good. Thanks, man! Now then, we have to make our way to Vilita quickly. We got a bit of surprise and got some events to prepare for Clarrie, Anastasia, and Gwen. It's time for Vilaye Clash for these ladies, hehe."

The Gardeners – Race 10 – Multiversal: Brisbane 200 Powered By SI Electric, Brisbane International Raceway, Sword Island (Road Course); Everlong: Brisbane 125 Powered By Venom Energy Drink, Brisbane International Raceway, Sword Island (Road Course)

As Holly arrived at Brisbane International Raceway along with the rest of the Valentians, she would get that one expected but surprising visitor coming to her way. Maybe she thought she was going to get Ilya talking to her again, or perhaps even wanting to give her a hug, but she was absolutely strict on the no-touch policy on everywhere except her hands (and not even the arms). It was that gentleman from the French Army, perhaps appropriately dressed still in his military uniform, and with the non-light-magical Valentian crew working for Holly alerting her of him. "Hmm, hello there!" Holly waved slowly and carefully, approaching and walking towards him, "Monsieur Massena, it is a surprise to see you visiting me again, hm hm! Well, what can I help you with?" she asked perhaps with curiosity and less confrontational. The man, after exchanging the pleasantries, then spoke up, "That was a scary crash you had last week. I wanted to ask if you were okay, but you left before I could talk to you." "Ahh, worried about me, I see," was the first thought that she had. Apart from the Valentians, Massena might be the first person out there who showed a shred of concern about her, especially after the crash. Maybe he was the only one to see her during the two DNFs that she have had. It's not to say that she harboured the dislike to the other drivers because they didn't see her; whether or not they wanted to see her is their own concern, not hers. On top of that, for someone that she have just met in this season, Massena showing a particular interest, especially with that conversation, was truly the definition of suspicious. Still, she played along, replying back, "Ohh, I am fine, don't worry about me! I'm just a bit concerned and felt bad for Ilya, you know? I hit him, and then he got knocked out as well. I heard that he only sustained minor injuries, so I am glad for that. But him crashing and DNFing and losing out? I should not be the cause of anyone getting knocked out." She let out a small sigh before sitting back down, perhaps to talk to him a bit.

After that was done, and with the Everlong race concluded, the Valentians (and the Gardeners) caught wind of the race that was happening in Vilita, their next destination. It was something about Vilaye Clash, whereby only Gwen, Clarissa, and Anastasia were invited; none of the Gardeners made it, unfortunately. Jolyn let out a bit of displeasure and a groan, but it was still not that big of a deal that would warrant such a fuss. Besides, that would give her more of the time to prepare for the race in Lonngeylin Ring – a short track with quite a handful of elevation changes. "I will have to work on that one," Jolyn remaked, "But first, let's just hope that there is nothing going wrong with the race tomorrow." As Fate would have it, the race did not go that wrong, anyway. Sure, both the Valentians and Gardeners could have gained a lot more positions, especially with the tightly-packed formation that they were going with at the last few laps of the road course. At the end of the day, none of the Valentians and Gardeners crashed and that was the most important thing to be. Even Anna Joy Thanda Pwint Thinzar New managed to stay behind her teammate Jolyn for most of the time, even after her less than stellar qualifications that made her start at 41st. Of course, there was Valentijn winning an Everlong race once again, and in turn, that warranted a recalculation on their scoreboard after Valentijn realised that she was not getting more points than she predicted. As it turns out, she was using the Multiversal point system to calculate the points for both herself and for Marcus. This was then pointed out by Jolyn as she had a short conversation with Valentijn on their trip to Vilita. "Ohhh, that explains a fair bit. So you mean that the scoreboard for the previous races were wrong?" Jolyn nodded, chuckling to herself, "Unfortunately, yes. But hey, don't worry about that. You don't need to tell the officials, they kept scores of their own. But now you see why you and Marcus got overestimated points!" Valentijn also laughed sheepishly, as she did a final confirmed headcount of the Valentians and to make sure that everyone is accounted for. As they strap themselves to their seats, Valentijn took off the dropshop, taking off to Vilita for what's going to be a busy race and days.

Qiang rolled his eyes. "What's the matter Gil? Are Lam's eyes too slanty for you?" Qiang pulled up the corners of his eyes to make himself look like a racial caricature.

"Is that really necessary?" Houzhi Chang asked in Chinese. He had missed most of the incident at the GFR garage and did not really understand what was going on, but he still positioned himself so he was blocking Gil's path into the garage.

Massena shrugged. "Accidents happen. You should not blame yourself."

You might wonder how Jean Lannes and Andre Massena made it to Lonngeylin in time for the Toys '4' All 500 after getting waylaid by the Pearl Kingdom's warriors. Well, it turns out the fighting in Chieujeau didn't last very long. Napoleon moved his camp a couple of miles up the road, relinquishing control of Chieujeau Raceway, and both sides agreed to release their POWs. The Jouoangquoirens kept a handful of men behind bars, claiming they had committed crimes unrelated to Napoleon's military activities -- but Lannes, Massena, Tashi, and Leujouje were all allowed to go free.

Tashi and Leujouje had been treated decently because they were unarmed black women and it was pretty obvious that they were non-combatants. They even managed to shoot a few photos, though the backdrops were not quite what they originally planned.

Lannes and Massena arrived at Napoleon's headquarters tired, grumpy, and disheveled telling horror stories about how the Jouoangquoirens had locked them in animal crates and fed them disgusting slop. The Chétean city jail was too small to hold all the prisoners the Jouoangquoirens had captured, so they improvised, and the resulting conditions were pretty horrific. Furthermore, the Jouoangquoirens refused to return most of the French weapons they had captured. Massena's sword was returned to Leujouje only after the she asked very nicely and flirted with the man guarding the stockpile of captured weapons. Lannes had to leave for Vilita without recovering all of his personal effects, and he was still grumbling about it when he arrived at the Lonngeylin Ring. Napoleon promised to take up these issues with the Jouoangquoirens, but he wasn't sure how much good it would do.

On the bright side, the filthy conditions in the prison camp persuaded Lannes and Massena that they should bathe before making the trip to Lonngeylin. So nobody had to hold their nose at the drivers' meeting.

"The One Hundred Thousand Love Lives of Ricky Lee? What in the world?" Curiosity getting the better of him, the namesake and inspiration for Ilya Tsunopin's latest "real person fic" clicked the link that someone had shared in the drivers' group chat. It turned out to be an interesting read, the story version of Ricky getting into relationships with fans, crew members, media members and fellow drivers. "Dating Maddie Alexander, Jenna Logan, AND Centur Tiones at the same time? Knocking up Kassie Collins? How does Ilya think of this stuff?" Ricky didn't even mind that his fictional counterpart swings both ways despite him actually being straight - he was just in awe at how much game "Slick Rick" had compared to the real him. "Maybe I should adopt the nickname myself?" He started reading the story on Thursday and finished it just before quals on Saturday. That would have been the end of Ricky's experience with Ilya's writing, but no, he was hooked. He snuck a few chapters of Shark Tale: How River Suzgar Found Love at the Garage in between his last few simulator practice sessions.

The Brisbane 200 went well for both Ricky and fellow Direwolf Auto Team driver Sage Caldwell. The former notched a top twenty, passing Suzgar, the same driver he's been reading about, on the last lap to take 18th, while Sage's tenth place finish kept him hovering a few spots above the Chase cut line. At the post-race press conference, the dreadlocked driver referred to his performance in the season thus far as satisfactory, but expressed his ongoing hunger for victory; he also confirmed his participation in the Vilaye Clash in a week's time.

Ilya arrived at the track a couple of hours after the 200, having spent the previous day in St. Kanye to watch the Upper Westside University Red Pandas' NSCF opener with his friends who were students there. He had just said hi to his Gale Force Racing teammates and was about to visit Kai Qiang's garage (and gift him an official Red Pandas plush for winning) when Sage pulled him aside. "Ilya, man, you ain't gonna want to be associating with Qiang right now."

"What?" was the 69Xer's confused reply.

"Ain't saying you're gonna need a new driver to stan and stuff, but Qiang did something real bad yesterday, ya hear?" Ilya listened eagerly. "You aware of this Lam dude, masked up lil homie?" Ilya nodded - their #38 hauler is just a short walk away from his #45. "Apparently Qiang, like, knocked their mask off at the GFR garage, caused the poor thing to cry. Never did saw their reaction or their face, but word travels fast, ya hear, and it's been the talk of all the teams since yesterday. Wrong move, if you ask me. No wonder Big J and Stacie and Thea ain't there at victory lane earlier, coz you know they usually congratulate Qiang if he wins. So my advice to you, bro, maybe just tone down the 'I LOVE QIANG' sh-t, maybe at least until this issue blows over."

Ilya was stunned. He leaves the team for a couple of days, and misses both his idol winning and his idol messing up. After standing speechless for a few seconds, he finally blurted out a "Thanks" to Sage before turning to leave. The two walked away in different directions, but Sage later stopped, turned, and shouted at Ilya. "Do the right thing!"

Lonngeylin Ring, Lonngeylin, Vilita
Not long after arriving to the track for race weekend
There was a lot on the mind of Drake Stevenson, Taylor Henderson and Chris Holmes as they made their way into the garage area of the Lonngeylin Ring for the Toys ‘4’ All 500. For starters, it wasn’t that often that any of the three came into the garage with a large Honeyloving Ham and a large fruit basket from Edible Considerations. Drake had shown up to a race track with a fruit basket in the past, but not for this. Several years before, when Drake was pissed off at Tyson Hoyt for some moves he had pulled on the track, Drake delivered a fruit basket to driver Craig Martin after he put Hoyt in the wall at the Hapilopper National Exhibition. The gesture was hilarious, but HASCAR and Hoyt were not pleased with it.

Nobody got wrecked this time on track. The fruit basket and ham were gifts for Lam Chow-Cheung, nicknamed “Lamb Chow” by Drake Stevenson after figuring the name sounded a lot like a popular pet food in Hapilopper. Cheung had worn a mask everywhere they went, for reasons that were not clear to the Haps. It wasn’t their business, so they didn’t ask. Drake figured that they had worn a mask because they had been horribly burned in a fiery racing accident, and didn’t bother asking out of concern of bringing back a horrible memory.

None of the Team Blue drivers had any idea of Cheung’s past. They had no idea of how they had been treated as an outcast by their own family and friends when they were growing up, and how they had hid themself in a mask in hope that he could get the support of those that loved them. If they had known, it’s a good chance they might have been horrified at their treatment. Hapiloppians were, for the most part, very accepting individuals. They followed the theory of “you ain’t hurtin’ nobody, so you cool.” A person coming out as their true self is seen as that, coming out as their true self, and that is that.

All the Team Blue drivers heard was that Qiang had outed Cheung without their consent, and they thought that was, not just a shitty thing to do, but it crossed a line that didn’t need to be crossed. So after they returned from Sword Island, the team agreed to send Cheung some gifts to show them that, at the very least, they had the support of Team Blue.

The ham, however, gave Drake Stevenson pause, and a lot of it had to do with the incident in Yesopalitha a year before, where a Team Blue representative accidentally gave the deaf Tsering Chu a CD of Drake’s most vulgar radio rants. That incident, of course, led to Chu punching Chris Holmes out in the Team Blue Center.

You see, Drake wondered all week if the ham was a massive miscalculation. For starters, Drake didn’t know Cheung all that well. He didn’t know if they were a vegetarian or a vegan, and he didn’t know how they would respond if, in fact, they couldn’t have the ham for that reason.

Taylor Henderson, meanwhile, was looking at the card that the team had signed for Cheung. Everyone that mattered signed the card. Amanda McAlister, the team principal, all three drivers, all three crew chiefs, driver consultant Frank Bronson, all signed the card and left really nice notes – well, mostly nice.

“Stevenson, you fucking idiot,” Taylor calmly started. “What’s this?”

Taylor was pointing at the name on the top of his note. “Lamb Chow? Seriously?” she asked.

“Yeah, Lamb Chow,” Drake replied. “There a problem?”

“Yes, there’s a problem,” Taylor explained. “You’re trying to be nice and then you put this dipshit name on here. How are they going to respond? You think they’re gonna get offended? And you, Holmes, what the fuck is this?”

“What?” Chris asked. “What’d I do?”

“‘To hell with that dumb bunghole Kai Qiang’? A greeting card doesn’t include the word ‘bunghole,’ bunghole!” Taylor replied.

“But he’s a bunghole,” Chris said. “You know he’s a bunghole, I know he’s a bunghole, the whole series knows Qiang’s the biggest bunghole in the series.”

“Qiang IS a bunghole, isn’t he?” Drake loudly declared, loud enough for other teams and their crews to hear. “You know more than anyone, Holmes!”

“Yeah, I fail to see the issue,” Chris reasoned.

The three drivers walked over to the Huuhkajat Moottoriurheilu garage, and flagged someone down.

“Hey buddy, I was wondering if you knew where Lamb Chow was, we’ve got some gifts for them,” Drake started, before getting elbowed HARD in the stomach by Taylor. Taylor was still displeased over the “Lamb Chow” nickname and couldn’t believe Drake was actually using that nickname with an HM crewmember.

Meanwhile, Doug Goodman, one of the Hapilopper Television Network’s reporters, had been walking the garage, looking for something to report on. He might have wound up stirring the pot more than anything else when he got on twii.tur.

So, walking through the garage, @THendo73 is carrying a ham, @CHolmes is carrying a fruit basket and @HapiDrake81 is loudly declaring to everyone in the garage that @QK98 is a "bunghole". This is gonna be a fun weekend, y'all.

And before anyone asks, as far as I know, it looked like they were heading to the HM garage, the team run by Daniel Marx. Wonder if Hendo and Marx have conversed at all this year...

If you ask around the garages, 22nd place in a 46-car field hits differently depending on the driver. Kelly Monroe and the other field fillers would probably kill for such a finish. To a midpack runner like Ricky Lee, it's just another day at the office. To the Cup Series' heavies, it would be a disappointment. Jeremiah Brooke, who belongs to the third category, certainly felt that way after he ended up in that very position at the Brisbane 200, but it wasn't something the levelheaded Yeezie couldn't find a positive out of.

"There are 21 reasons why I'm not happy with how we've done today," the former champ said during the post-race press conference, "but there's one reason why I am. Last season, at this track, how did I finish?"

"You didn't," spoke a young lady from the Newmanistani press, thinking back to when Jeremiah suffered brake problems and ran into Chris Holmes during the previous edition of the 200, ending both their days prematurely.

"Exactly."

"You had handling issues at the start of this race, causing you to fall behind," asked an older male reporter from Esmerel. "Without that, how differently do you think things could have gone?"

"Hard to tell, really - while I was able to get to the front soon after I got that thing fixed, I did fall behind again in the later stages. But let's no longer get into that, we'll just be moving on to next week. Vilita, short track, should be exciting."

"Any words for our winner, Kai Qiang?" asked Matt Heath from St. Kanye's own SKYNET Sports. The incident between Qiang and Lam Chow-Cheung at the GFR garage was gaining more attention, but with lack of video evidence, all the media could build up on are the words of those who witnessed what happened, or at least knew others who did.

"Good for him, I suppose. He needed it, he wanted it, he worked for it, and he got it."

Image

Gale Force Racing's de facto leader somewhat ironically trailed both his teammates in the race. Thea Alvarez made it back to back seventh place finishes after her four-race slump and mental breakdown in Kimi-Suomi. Stacie Houston, Jeremiah's beloved wife, finished just behind Thea, rising up to second in the driver point standings. The trio, mad at Qiang's actions the day prior (though not the man himself), decided not to visit him in victory lane and instead go to Lam, who made it two straight in 30th place.

"Hey," said Thea, "hope that incident didn't eat at you today, hope you bounce back next week."

"You're actually cute, you know," Stacie spoke in such a tone that no one else but the four of them would hear.

"But if you're not yet ready to let the world know that, don't worry - your secret is safe with us," Jeremiah added.

Image

The team left Sword Island that very day, and by midnight their private jet was already in the air, heading towards Vilita. While Stacie used her laptop and Thea painted her nails, Jeremiah and R&D driver Ilya Tsunopin were talking college gridiron, specifically the game Ilya attended just the previous Saturday.

".... and then late in the fourth, damn near our entire section stood up and started shaking our asses, not to mention that Red Pandas mascot dude."

"Redford?"

"That's the mascot's name?"

"Yup."

"Okay then, him. Anyway, so the Joe Gibbs kicker lines up, 28 yards, shoulda been easy, right? But bastard missed the whole thing. May or may not have been all the dancing from Redford and the fans distracting him, if you ask me."

"Speaking of dancing, Stacie and I saw your friends on TV, busting some moves at midfield at the end of the game. Just how much have the three of you drunk by then?"

"What are you talking about? We didn't get boozed up until after we got back to the hotel."

"Brooky, Thea," Stacie suddenly spoke. "Vilaye Clash signups are live, either of you in?" The Clash served as an all-star race of sorts for the Cup Series. All three of them were mainstays of the event, even during Stacie's Team Cassadaigua days, and GFR tended to put out special schemes for their drivers.

"Sure, why not?" was her husband's reply. "Can't wait to see what scheme I'll be rocking then." Thea nodded in agreement as she finished her manicure and put away her tools.

Stacie continued to read the list of invited drivers, active and inactive. "Dinggu Wang... Guillermo Archer.... nah, I don't think he'll return for that, sadly. And hey! Meghan Sharpe's still eligible!"

"So call the bosses up and ask them to offer her a seat," Jeremiah said.

"Think I might just do that. But first, let's see if Meg herself says yes." Stacie opened up a chat window and typed out a message for her former teammate. Despite retiring from the Cup Series three seasons ago, Meghan still kept in touch with Stacie, and in fact even gave her and Jeremiah a pressure cooker for their wedding.

"Now we wait."

The Sherpa Empire wrote:Qiang rolled his eyes. "What's the matter Gil? Are Lam's eyes too slanty for you?" Qiang pulled up the corners of his eyes to make himself look like a racial caricature.

"Now that's just not nice," Gil said with a raised eyebrow. It was no secret that Gil Archer and Kai Qiang were not the best of friends on the NSSCRA grid. In fact, in his first season at NSSCRA, Gil had tried to get under Qiang's skin as part of the mind games that the Fleftic driver was used to playing back at his local circuits. Gil had used certain racially charged words and rhymed them with equally sexually charged words in the hope that Qiang would take the bait and engage in his mind games, but the then-defending NSSCRA champion never did. That would certainly have left Qiang with a not-so-stellar impression of Archer, and that wouldn't have been helped by another incident involving Archer verbally and racially abusing another Chinese driver in Gongming Gao in the Fleftic's second and eventually final season in NSSCRA. And now here he was, involved in yet another incident with yet another Chinese driver.

"Clearly, it looks like I got here at a bad time for both of us," Gil conceded once he saw Qiang's big crew chief Chang move between them. "I know when I'm not wanted. But I'm just here to tell you that this path might not be one you want to go on. Some people love to feed on the hate and negativity coming from other people. I don't know if you'd be one of them." And, as he was walking away from Qiang's garage, Gil added, "Since you're the one who brought up the whole race thing, I'll tell you this much: it doesn't matter to me if his name was Lam Chow Cheung or Chuck Lamb or Chukwueze Lambezi, I'd still call it a dick move on your part."

As Gil walked away, he pondered the train of thought that had led to him suddenly standing up in defense of another driver. He was sure that he would have actually tried to egg on this fight and keep it going before. But what had changed for him since then? Was this an aftereffect of his collapse at Filindostan last season? Was he really that affected by what had happened to him? Gil was sure that he didn't know the answer, and he was also sure that he probably wasn't going to like it.

Gil's tablet vibrated, and he saw that a few new emails had arrived at his inbox. Those emails were from Fleftic media asking Gil if he was going to come out of retirement in order to take part in the Vilaye Clash. Gil typed out a reply stating that his medical condition still prevents him from coming out of retirement for even just a single race, and then he sent the email reply to all of those who had asked him.

What Has Happened Behind That Mask?

Postby TJUN-ia » Wed Mar 30, 2022 4:20 pm

This blog was written by Derrick Carlisle, Jaguar Racing's Social Media Manager

Welcome to the Run In of NSSCRA 12's Regular Season - and you all know it's going to be a blast. These six weekends are going to decide the fates of a lot of driver's seasons and they can be described in four parts - The Vilaye Double, TJUN Speed Week, Double Trouble In Hap City and Jalton. All 6 of these races, on both T1 and T2, are going to be very important for everyone and it all begins here in Vilita for a weekend of action that will surely get the pulses racing - two at the Lonngeylin Ring, one at Yutzie River Raceway. Racing Collectors 300 tonight, Toys '4' All 500 tomorrow, Vilaye Clash on Sunday.

Today's action was certainly fun...but it also brought up a few talking points. Qualifying in the Multiversal Cup Series was certainly interesting and it saw all three of our drivers mixed across the grid, as you would expect when 1 lap takes only 15 seconds to complete. Alfonso Mercado (@AM64) will start from 7th, Maddison Riley-Jones (@MaddyRJ03) will start alongside car #38 in 12th while Michael Stefan (@Stefan07) will have a bit of work to do from 25th - but with only 4 tenths separating all 3 drivers, it only goes to show how these small ovals can cause a bit of chaos. Stacie Houston took pole over teammate Thea Alvarez and Yraaga Gilli’i while Jeremiah Brooke, by contrast, was over half a second off the pace...in 29th. That's the magic of the Ring for you. Anna Star Joy Thanda Pwint Thinzar Nwe will start as the best non-charter in 22nd while Jean Lannes (30th), Ricky Lee (34th), Lexie Shelby (39th) and Timo Szaba (44th) joining them on the grid. A race in Vilita means a double-VTM open-charter situation and this weekend will be no different, Rockii Ezis marking their return in 23rd and Lotara Novorali down in 38th. Hell, even Aurélia Karvonen was doing well and will start tomorrow ahead of Brooke and in 28th.

But....there's someone I've missed. Let's finally talk about Lam Chow-Cheung, eh? Now normally, what they did today would be a story within its own right, somehow managing to end up in P11 for tomorrow after a brilliant time out there, and normally a TJUN-ian getting their best quali performance of the season would be all well and good - but it's all the more remarkable considering the backdrop. Now, I don't know exactly what happened as much as the next guy, but what I do know is this - After qualifying in Brisbane, Kai Qiang had ripped off their mask...and let's just say that was so wrong on so many levels. That mask and the reason they wear it is something that even I, a fellow TJUN-ian, don't even know...heck, I wouldn't be surprised if the only TJUN-ians to know are Lam themself and Daniel Marx, their boss. Now, this moment of pure chaos was apparently done in relative privacy...but word does spread fast around this paddock and suddenly, all anybody can talk about is #38 and HM. There was a note on the wall, a hamper from Team Blue and a lot of people across the sport decrying Qiang for crossing a line. Now I can understand why Lam looked stressed after last week's race...and I hope the dude's doing alright. As for Qiang...normally, I wouldn't put you in a place like MemeWatch...but exceptions have to be made in times like this. A line had been crossed...and now, everyone was keeping a keen eye on #38.

Night brought out the Everlong and you could certainly say that despite the chaos around them, HM decided to put their heads down and the Everlong would end up being their magnum opus of Friday. Kaarina Salo somehow ended up on pole position, HM's first-ever, ahead of Marcus Alan Ariel Reynolds and Pyotr Lavrentiev with Ilmari Pëkannen in 22nd and all of our guys in the middle - Alice Jepkosgei (@AJ96) in 12th, Gongming Gao (@GG70) in 15th and Robin Dragonovic (@RD97SNL) down in 17th. Somehow, the winner ended up being Bryan Harrison of all people (good on you, mate - well done) ahead of Lavrentiev and Daryl Calhoun. Salo still finished strong in 4th, Ilmari climbed his way up to 7th and we were simply nowhere (RD 14th, GG 17th, AJ 20th). HM had a good day today despite all the chaos...neat.

Due to the Clash being on Sunday, your race recap will be a bit later than usual...so see you then!

Most of the fuss over Qiang's confrontation with Lam didn't leave much of an impression.

Hapiloppians calling him a bunghole sounded like a normal day. Drake had a long history of casting everything Qiang did in a negative light. He also talked a lot about some imagined grudge between Tsering Chu and Chris Holmes, even though Tsering did not actually have any strong feelings about Chris.

If he wandered by the TJUN-ian garage and saw a poster out of the corner of his eye, that was normal too. The TJUN-ians were always plastering slogans and soundbites on the walls. Even if he had read the poster, he probably would not have realized it was about him. It could have been about some news story that was making the rounds in TJUN-ia, or about one of the other NSSCRA teams. He'd seen plenty of books, movies, etc. glamorizing Napoleon and the Grand Armee, and he'd seen plenty of lewd and rude behavior from the French NSSCRA team -- not to mention their questionable hygiene. The posters could have easily been referring to the gross way Massena leered at female drivers, or the way he talked to the servers in sports bars.

When the Yeezies didn't come to congratulate Qiang for his win, he didn't read much into it. There were any number of things that could have been occupying their time.

Qiang was pretty good at picking up on things when he was interested, but he wasn't interested in catching every subtle slight against him. After all the controversies he'd been through in his career, he had learned to tune some things out.

Of course, he noticed the people who approached him more directly. He knew Gil had showed up at his garage and made a fuss and he knew that Derrick Carlisle had put him in MemeWatch -- but he wasn't that concerned with what they thought. He hadn't done it for them.

Racing Collectors 300, Lonngeylin Ring, Lonngeylin, Vilita :: A fine weekend of racing continued with the Everlong Contenders Series at the Lonngeylin Ring in Vilita. One night prior it was the AOCAR Stock Car Series at the same track where rookie driver Jeszi Hotoniia picked up her first career top five finish with Todd Underhill of New Northwesteros taking the Checkered Flag. It would be an even bigger result for Team Tropicorp in the Everlong Contenders Series Race as long time NSSCRA competitor Bryan Harrison would hold off the field and take the checkered flag for their first career NSSCRA victory. While many wondered if a return to Vilita and Turori Motorsports could be the spark to thrust Rockii Ezis into victory lane in the Everlong Contenders Series this season, it was instead Harrison who struck first for the winless veterans brigade. The #5 machine carried the logos of the race sponsor, Racing Collectibles, on the hood and of Cocoa-bo on the side of the car in what is sure to be a print-run special from the collectible toy manufacturer to be revealed at a later date. With Harrison staying in Vilita for the Vilaye Clash two days later, the Newmanistani driver was found at the Tropicorp Pit Crew Challenge display outisde Turn 4 the morning of the NSSCRA Multiversal Cup Series race signing their first public autographs as an NSSCRA Race Winner. With just one week before the Tropicorp Pit Crew Competition for the NSSCRA Stars, it was also one of the last chances fans had to potentially qualify to serve as a member of the Tropicorp Select Pit Crew for the competition.

Cars will line up in Turn 4 and await their turn before passing the S/F line and entering the Tropicorp Visitor Center Special Competition Pit Road

Rules:
Teams are required to change both left-and right-side tires and empty a full load of fuel into the car using up to 2 cans. The timer begins when the nose of the vehicle breaks the plane of the pit box and ends when the rear tires have exited the pit box. All violations, unless otherwise noted, will incur a penalty of 2 seconds added to the time of the pit stop.

Penalties:
1. Crew members over the wall prior to vehicle passing the designated marker

2. Car running over jack

3. Car running over or under air hose or air wrench

4. Each Tire rolling uncontrolled outside of painted pit box

5. Any lug nut not secured by at least 80 foot pounds of torque

6. Any cross-threaded lug nut

7. Air gun handed or tossed between crew members

8. Pushing a car that is under power

9. Any tire not returned to inside half of pit box prior to vehicle departure

10. Jackman swinging the jack in an uncontrolled manner in transit or handing to another crew member

11. Equipment attached to the car when exiting the pits

12. Dropping any fueling equipment during the pitstop

13. More than 1 litre of fuel remaining in fuel cans (combined)

14. Crew member performing a job they were not registered to conduct (5 seconds per)

Drivers will take the track in the inverse order of the current NSSCRA Owners Point Standings. There will be two pit boxes in use during the competition allowing one team to set up their pit box while a different team is conducting their pit stop. The pit entry cone is adjusted accordingly for each competitor depending on which of the two pit boxes are in use for that round. After exiting the pit box and re-entering the main straightaway of the Tropicoast Beach Course, drivers must bring the vehicle to a complete stop in the Inspection Area where NSSCRA and Tropicorp officials will inspect the vehicle to ensure there are no infractions such as Loose or Cross-Threaded Lugnuts. There will also be an inspector in the Pit area to weigh fuel cans and monitor for other infractions.

Teams in the Top 30 of the NSSCRA Multiversal Cup Series point standings are expected to be invited to participate in addition to select teams from the Everlong Contenders Series, AOCAR Stock Car Series and the Tropicorp Select Entry.

First Time Winners Reign So far in Lonngeylin

Lonngeylin Ring, Lonngeylin, Vilita :: Two races into the week at Vilita's most famous short track, the Lonngeylin Ring, and two drivers have already made a name for themselves by claiming their first career victories at the track. First up was the AOCAR Stock Car Series with the Lighthouse Lightworx 250. Incredibly, after skipping the first six races of the AOCAR Season before joining up with her Vankkavalta Suotelsesbillet team, Annike Jensen-Aakstern picked up right where she had left off during the previous AOCAR Season: On Pole Position. Jensen-Aakstern was the top pole award winner during the previous season of the AOCAR Stock Car Series and is rumored to be in discussions to pilot Islago Tizilna's NSSCRA Multiversal Cup Series car if the rookie driver does not otherwise qualify for the event on their own merit. While the downtime didn't slow the Abovian driver down at all in hotlaps it perhaps influenced some hesitancy in the thick of the action on the high banked Lonngeylin Ring short track. A few tangle ups would slide Jensen-Aakstern two laps off the pace into a 19th place finish. The battle for the victory would be contested between a handful of the usual suspects, Saint Kanye's Gavin Ogden, Hapilopper's Gord Humphrey and Oontaz' Benedicto Baluarte - with a couple of surprise contenders including Tropicorp rookie Jeszi Hotoniia and Banija's Malik Camara. They would all be bested however by New Northwesterosi Todd Underhill who took the checkered flag to become the first race winner for Direwolf in the AOCAR Stock Car Series and lock up a spot in the Playoff Shootout presented by twii.tur.

The action would continue the following day with qualifying for both the Multiversal Cup Series and the Everlong Contenders Series, as well as the Everlong Contenders Series race. Widely expected to be series challengers in the second tier series, Vilita and Turori backed Novorali Enterprises drivers Lotara Novorali and Rockii Ezis would each qualify inside the Top 10 but it would be Kimi-Suomi's Kaarina Salo on pole position. The big names on the day would be Salo, Pyotr Lavrentiev of Saint Kanye and the Valentian Marcus Alan Ariel Reynolds. It would ultimately be a struggle for the Novorali Enterprises drivers with Rockii Ezis collecting damage early and running in the middle of the pack near teammate Turakki Mayelli. Lotara Novorali couldn't seem to crack the top 5 but was fighting for 6th on the final lap when contact from points leader Jixaka Motorai sent Novorali into the wall on the exit of Turn 2, killing the momentum of both drivers and giving Novorali a broken right front wheel. She tried to salvage as many positions as she could be was down to 16th at the stripe - a critical blow in her fight to remain inside the Top 16 of the drivers points. The second blow to the Vilita and Turorian drivers fighting between 13th and 17th in the Everlong Contenders Series Standings was
the fact that the race winner was Team Tropicorp driver Bryan Harrison - whom they had been battling for safety ahead of that 16th place cutoff mark. Harrison was a strong performer in the Everlong Contenders Series for Five Star Team Tropicorp throughout NSSCRA Season 11 but never cracked the winners circle. Their first career NSSCRA victory would also ensure their spot in the Everlong Contenders Series Playoffs regardless of where they fell in the points battle with the Vilita and Turori trio.

Two of the Vilita and Turori drivers would get a second chance the following day when the Multiversal Cup Series had their night under the lights. Former Lonngeylin Ring Track Champion Lotara Novorali and former Vilita and Turori Motorsports NSSCRA Cup Series driver Rockii Ezis would each be making their first Cup Series starts of the season in front of the familiar home fans in Lonngeylin. While neither was able to put in a blistering lap in their first top-tier qualifying runs of the season, Ezis will have a decent starting position in 23rd and will look to leverage that to work their way up the field in search of their first Multiversal Cup Series Top 10 since season 9 where Ezis, then driving for Rocket Motorsports, put together a string of three consecutive Top 10 finishes - culminating with a tenth place run at the Oquevocêquiser in Jebslund.

River 'Shark' Suzgar II, the defending champion of the Toys '4' All 500 at the Lonngeylin Ring, had a disappointing run in the Vilaye Energy Drink Pole Award qualifying session and will start directly in front of Lotara Novorali in 36th position. There were high hopes for pole position in the Tropicorp Racing Supply Camp of another former Toys '4' All 500 Race Winner, Yraaga Gilli'i, but the #41 Hybrid Dart was narrowly beaten out by a pair of Gale Force Racing Drivers - Stacie Houston and Thea Alvarez, and will roll off the grid in third place - with their bumper likely firmly attached to the #27 Five Star Mobile Chadwick in front of them, potentially re-igniting the ultimate short track rivalry that had reached fever pitch three seasons prior.
