Head Coach: Ronji Miiastara
Miiastara joined Marine Coast United in Vilita for their V-League 27 campaign in the Declasse, just the second ever for the club at that level. Miiastara was tasked with keeping the ball out of the net, and he did just that, helping lead Marine Coast United back to the Stellar Division at the first attempt leading up to V-League 28. After competing in the UICA 'B' Champions League, Marine Coast finished a respectable 7th place in the V-League but just missed out on a UICA place. Miiastara jumped ship to Kiiarana City in order to participate in the UICA Globe Cup prior to Season 29. While Kiiarana did not make the huge title push expected of them, Miiastara let in a career low 14 goals during Season 30, leading Kiiarana to a runner up finish in the Stellar Division a place in the UICA Champions League and a Tropical Trophy victory. It would be the lone high point at the club for Miiastara, however. After losing his 'ever present' status as National Team goalkeeper to the domestically successful Hooizo Nuakoi, Miiastara made the switch to Colonial for Season 35 and immediately added a second Tropical Trophy victory to his resume. After bouncing around for seasons Miiastara finally found a home in Lonngeylin backstopping the rise of Lonngeylin Coast from a Declasse club to a Stellar Division challenger, leading the club to a pair of consecutive 4th-placed finish and Champions Cup qualification during V-League Seasons 40 & 41. After Lonngeylin Coast moved to Youth and Zelkki Milake, Miiastara switched to Jlinal Cove and led them to their first ever Champions Cup appearance during the 54th UICA Cycle.

Brief National Team History
The Kadongo Kamu have played in exactly 305 games, as of the end of AOCAF LX. The national team has participated in 9 World Cup Qualification campaigns(WCQ73, WCQ74, WCQ75, WCQ76, WCQ77, WCQ79, WCQ80, WCQ82, WCQ84) and played in the past five World Cups- World Cup 80-84. We have also participated in Baptism of Fire 60, and been a participant in three different Cup of Harmonies(CoH 66, CoH 67, and CoH 71). In three Cup of Harmonies, Banija has never once moved past the group stage in the competition, and in their lone Baptism of Fire, they earned a lone point. In World Cup 80, Banija was eliminated in the group stages, though in World Cup 81, Banija won Group A and went to the Round of 16 before falling in extra time, on home soil, to Turori by a score of 1-1(2-1 AET). in World Cup 82, Banija won its opening game 3-1 before losing its next two games, its last one in heartbreaking fashion to Pasarga to be eliminated in the group stages. In World Cup 83, Banija stunned the world by beating then two-time defending world champions Vilita in the quarterfinals en route to a bronze medal. In World Cup 84, they were eliminated in the quarterfinals.

After not competing at all during the World Cup 78 Cycle due to the RBSA's bankruptcy, they re-entered the world of international football in World Cup 79 cycle. A shocking World Cup 79 Qualification campaign saw them on the brink of qualifying, but the team simply ran out of gas and lost 4 of their final 5 matches to not make it to Ceni/Drawkland. Since then, the U21 team got 3rd place at the 42nd Di Bradini Cup, and the national team advanced to the quarterfinals of AOCAF LV, AOCAF LVI, and AOCAF LVII, establishing themselves as a strong regional side, falling to the eventual champs in the latter two tournaments. They stunningly qualified for World Cup 80, after starting poorly by losing 5 of their first 9, to going unbeaten in the second half of qualifying, where they won 7 of those games. In the World Cup 80 Qualification playoffs, a 3-0 first leg victory in Montreal, Royal Kingdom of Quebec, powered the team through to their first ever appearance in the World Cup Finals, advancing to sport's pre-eminent competition 5-3 on aggregate over Mercedini. While a pair of one goal losses saw them eliminated after two games, they earned their first ever victory at the World Cup Finals in a 2-0 win over New Gazi in their final group stage game. As they hosted World Cup 81, they went directly to the tournament, and went to their first ever knockout stages, winning Group A before falling, 1-1(2-1 AET) to Turori in the Round of 16. They cruised to qualification in World Cup 82, maintaining a top two spot in their World Cup Qualification group behind Brenecia for the entirety of the World Cup 82 Qualification campaign, getting to the tournament with relative ease before bowing out in the group stages.

The World Cup 83 cycle was their strongest yet. Starting with AOCAF LVIII on home soil, co-hosted with the Commonwealth of Baker Park, the Kadongo Kamu won 6 consecutive matches to open the tournament, taking their winning streak all the way to the final. Unfortunately, they were felled, 4-2, at home to their archrivals, the Equestrian States. Co-hosting World Cup 83 as well, the Banijans made a miraclous run at the World Cup, upending 5th ranked South Covelllo on penalties, and defeating the then two-time defending world champions Vilita in the quarterfinals, before falling, 3-2, at the national stadium to Starblaydia. They added to the trophy case, however, earning a bronze medal after defeating Cassadaigua in the 3rd place playoff game.

This cycle got off to a less than ideal start, as they saw their earliest ever exit from the AOCAFs, after falling 1-0 to Ko-oren in the Round of 16 of the regional championships. They had an up and down performance in World Cup 84, losing to the eventual champions Farfadillis in the group stages, making the knockouts anyways, before eventually being eliminated in the Quarterfinals by Eura. This cycle got off to a less than ideal start as well, getting upset 3-0 by Torisakia in the opening game of the AOCAFs. While they won four consecutive games after that, they were still eliminated in the Round of 16 for the second tournament in a row, falling 3-2 to the Goldhorns of Siovanija & Teusland.

List of National Team managers
1. Kizza Kabila(Banija). Manager for Baptism of Fire 60 and the World Cup 73 Qualification Campaign. Overall record of 0-14-1(W-L-D).

Kizza Kabila is the only Banijan to have ever managed the national team. Hired for Banija's first foray onto the international scene in this sport, his reign was universally derided as a disaster. Managing 15 games, he drew his first game in the Baptism of Fire, and not only lost the next two, he then lost ever single match in the 12 game World Cup Qualification campaign for World Cup 73, with the side only scoring 5 goals across the entire campaign. Unceremoniously fired after becoming one of few managers to go through an entire World Cup Qualification campaign without earning a single point, he, alongside the entire board of the RBSA, resigned after the last game. He was disgraced in the sport after the campaign, and, to this point, has never returned to top-level soccer.

2.Jan Cassallerus(San Llera): Hired before the start of the World Cup 74 Qualification Campaign, managed through the World Cup 77 Qualification Campaign. Overall Record of 27-32-16(W-L-D).

Banija put its eyes abroad, searching for a foreign manager before the World Cup 74 Qualification campaign, and found Jan Cassallerus. He is Banija's longest ever serving manager, being at the helm for four entire World Cup cycles, and being at the helm for 75 total games, a kind of longevity unheard of in the modern game, especially managing the national team. He started winning a game at the Coupe D'Esquarium, in what was known as the group of death. He was largely celebrated for bringing the team into relevancy. The expectations were through the floor, following Kizza Kabila, but he brought the team to Cup of Harmony 66 and Cup of Harmony 67, as well as advancing in Olympic Qualifying and getting third place at the United Valhaven Regional Football Championships. He was forced into retirement after the World Cup 77 Qualification campaign, when the RBSA declared bankruptcy, and could not participate in the World Cup 78 Qualification Campaign due to their inability to compensate players and staff.

3. Randolf Cherry(Drawkland): Hired before the start of the World Cup 79 Qualification Campaign. Overall Record of 20-24-2(W-L-D)

Randolf Cherry, after the RBSA got its act together, was hired- controversially- as the manager of the national team. Not that his own hire was controversial, it was applauded across the sports spectrum here at home. He was given a 3 cycle contract, and everyone knew what the goal was- to make the World Cup Finals at least once over the course of the contract. They understood that it would take time to climb the rankings, and they were willing to give him the leash. However, he came in a very awkward situation. Adama Sowe, the Chairman of the RBSA, allegedly first offered the job to Sarah Owens, out of the Equestrian States. Of course, it is illegal in Banija for women to coach men's professional teams, and that caused controversy. And yet, here he was- the manager of the national team.

His own home country of Drawkland is, of course, very progressive in that area, where the sport is dominated by the ladies. Regardless, he had an excellent start to his reign as a manger, and was initially extremely popular. He won his first game, in a special Eagles Club match, against Aggrey-Fynn Land. He lost his first few qualifiers, but he went on a dear through the middle of qualifying, which included a 7 game winning streak on home soil. Big wins against then 4th ranked Chromatika at home and then 32nd ranked Eshan, put them in the conversation of World Cup Qualification, though they were simply not strong enough.

The Cup of Harmony was considered a disaster, finishing in dead last in their group. The competition maybe simply isn't for the Banijans, eh? But they were strong throughout the offseason, making a surprising quarterfinal run in AOCAF LV and bringing high hopes to the squad going into World Cup 80 Qualification. Hopes were through the roof for the national team, maybe even bordering unrealistic. They struggled, and the campaign got worse as the pressure built, as the squad lost their final four qualifiers of the first half of qualifying. With the campaign seemingly in free-fall, he was fired, as the RBSA said they wanted time to conduct "an open, thorough, search."

4. Marcus Waters(Equestrian States): Hired after the 1st half of World Cup 80 Qualifying, present manager of the national team. Overall record of 103-43-23(W-L-D). All-time winning percentage of 60.95%. All-time points percentage of 65.48%.

Marcus Waters was the national team's assistant manager with Randolf Cherry above him, and the manager of the youth national teams. He first gained notoreity in Banija after successfully leading the U21 team to a 3rd place finish at the 42nd Di Bradini Cup. With his abilities clear, it made sense to move onto him as the interim manager as they searched for a permanent manager ahead of the second half of World Cup Qualifying. However, he was able to complete a stunning turnaround of this team. His first game in charge, he changed nearly the entire backline, and had a massive upset, away to Qasden, by a score of 3-2. A 3-0 victory over Razenthuria in the other mid-qualifying friendly got high hopes for him.

Marcus Waters went out with an intent to keep his team focused, despite everything going on at home. He has proven adept at navigating the political minefield that is this job, especially with his own country of origin essentially at war with Banija. He didn't lose a single game in the second half of qualifying, winning 7 games to get to the playoffs, including when the team was forced to play home games in Montreal due to ongoing violence within Banija. He was widely applauded for getting the team ready to play in Montreal, and winning 1-0 against Turori, the group's top seeded squad, and a 3-0 win in Montreal in the Qualification playoffs. While the RBSA interviewed four other candidates, his successful push through the World Cup Qualification playoffs and into Banija's first-ever World Cup Finals essentially clinched the job for him, as he put pen to paper to take the interim tag off of his title ahead of the 80th World Cup Finals.

Since then, of course, he has done a lot to garner the confidence of the higher-ups, and of the fans. Falling to the eventual champions in the quarterfinals of both AOCAF LVI and AOCAF LVII was widely seen as a positive. As well as, of course, a surprising Fourth Place finish in the Cup of Champions Six, highlighted by a surprising point earned in their matchup against Nephara, while also pushing through to the Round of 16 of World Cup 81, pleasing the home fans. A different sort of pressure faces him this campaign, however.

For the first time in his reign, you could say that Banija had a disappointing tournament, failing to advance in World Cup 82 beyond the group stages. It might be harsh to say that- on paper, advancing from a group with both Pasarga and Farfadillis is a tall order if your team is not Pasarga or Farfadillis. They responded well, however, winning six consecutive games at AOCAF LVIII, and knocking off major nations including Cosumar and Mriin at the tournament, before being felled in the final, in their own capitol of Busukuma, to Equestria. Following up with a World Cup on home soil, they continued that momentum forward from AOCAF LVIII, as the Banijans took on the role of giantslayers on home soil. They beat the 5th ranked South Covello side, and the then two-time defending world champions Vilita, before eventually falling to Starblaydia in the semifinals, though they still earned a bronze medal. Although momentum was blunted after a tough 1-0 defeat to Ko-oren that secured an early exit from AOCAF LIX, they followed that up with their second straight appearance in the World Cup Quarterfinals, where they fell to Eura in extra time.

They're excited, however, for the World Cup 85 Cycle. Even though they had a disappointing Round of 16 elimination in the AOCAFs to Siovanija & Teusland, there are still high hopes that they'll be able to 'achieve something' during World Cup 85.

[spoiler=National Team Rivalries]1. The Equestrian States. All time Banijan record against opponent- 0-6-1(W-L-T).

The Equestrian States are easily Banija's biggest rival, and by a country mile. It has all the makings of a good international sporting rivalry- plenty of matches played, history of competitive matches, geopolitical rivalry, player familiarity, and, of course, geographical proximity- all those boxes are checked. They've played each other 5 times, and Banija has come out on the losing end each and every time, most recently a 4-0 clobbering at the hands of the Equestrian States during Banija's final friendly before this qualification tournament began.

Three times have they played in competitive competition, and three times Banija has fallen. The Equestrian States eliminated Banija from Cup of Harmony 71 in group play, while also defeating the Banijans in both the opening match of World Cup 80, and the final group stage match of AOCAF LVI, though the Banijans still advanced to the quarterfinals of that tournament. The familiarity of players between each other is strong. Banija's present and most successfull all-time manager, Marcus Waters, is Equestrian. A number of players in each country play in leagues in the other. Famous Equestrian NT players like Aaron Aiza, Rosie Tyler, and Josef Lawrenz, ply their trade in the Banijan Soccer League, with Aiza particularly growing to superstar status while winning league titles at Herzegovina City FC.

Banija's first ever major final in this sport, at the senior level, was against none other than Equestria at the national stadium, with the winner to be crowned champions of AOCAF LVIII Final. In front of a decidedly pro-Banijan crowd, it was the Equestrians who dashed Banijan dreams of glory on their home turf as they picked up their first ever major international silverware, with a 4-2 victory. That victory has made the Banijans just that much hungrier to defeat their bitter rivals, and though the history is lopsided in favor of Equestria, that has just fueled the fire on this side of the matchup. The two sides co-hosted World Cup 83 together, and almost had a rematch of their AOCAF LVIII Final in the World Cup Final, though Banija could not fulfill its end of the bargain as they fell to a stronger Starblaydia side in the semifinals. Equestria, of course went on to win the World Cup, and the next AOCAF to boot, establish a fully fledged dynasty. The Banijans, in pre WOrld Cup 84 Qualification friendlies, got their first ever result against the Equestrians, a 0-0 draw in Everfree.

2. Eshan. Banijan all time record against opponent: 3-2-1(W-L-T)

Banija's other major rival is Eshan. Another regional rivalry, it doesn't carry quite the same weight as the Equestrian States, but they've played four high stakes competitive matches against each other, all in the same cycle. In World Cup 79 Qualifying, the two nations were in the same qualification group. Banija had an upset win in the first half of qualifying that vaulted them into serious discussions about making the final tournament, only to fall on the return trip, which effectively eliminated them from attending World Cup 79. And in the ensuing AOCAF LV tournament, they were drawn into the same group, and Eshan easily embarassed the Banijans, winning 5-1.

The draw did not seem to favor the Banijans, as the pair were drawn together in the Round of 16. This time, it was the Banijans who got the last laugh. After a thrilling 4-4 draw, the Banijans won on penalties and advanced to the quarterfinals of their first AOCAF, an overwhelming success. While they have not played each other since AOCAF LV, on a competitive or on a friendly basis, the rivalry is still an important one for many fans of the Kadongo Kamu.

The rivalry was renewed when the two teams were drawn against each other in World Cup 82 Qualifying, with the pair of nations favorites to compete for the group's 2nd qualifying spot, with Brenecia widely favored to win their World Cup Qualification group. Banija won the first match in Busukuma, while they drew on the return leg, as Banija clinched the World Cup Qualification spot as Eshan did not qualify for the World Cup Finals.

Select Player Biographies

1. CAM Namakula Kawesa

Namakula Kawesa is one of the most interesting players to follow on this team. She is the first woman to ever put on the green and white for the senior national side, the first beneficiary of the repeal of the gender segregation law within the country. Implementation has been slow, as there are only a handful of female players in the BSL right now, but the rise in change of culture is always slow. Still, she has smashed that glass ceiling on her own, and Kawesa is looking to ensure that she is well respected on the national and international stage.

With her platform comes great expectation, and with great expectation comes great pressure. So far, she has been able to handle it. She scored crucial goals at AOCAF LVIII en route for the Banijan run to the final of that tournament, as she came off the bench behind Okparro. She did the same at World Cup 83, playing crucial minutes there as well. She was able to earn herself attention in the transfer market, and now she plays for the Gwinevra Barbarians. She has shown her talent for the Barbarians, scoring seven goals in the league and 11 in all competitions in her first season for the Barbarians, where she was a regular fixture in their starting XI, and helped the team get 2nd in the league and earn a Champions Cup berth, as well as scoring in the Marshall Cup Final, which is Apox's major domestic cup competition. She has performed at expectation in Apox.

And now, of course, with Okparro's retirement, she has been handed the #10 jersey for the national team. This is a big moment for her, as she is now a full-time starter for the Kadongo Kamu. There are younger players who are chomping at the bit to wear the #10 jersey- youngsters like Momodou Sene and Abigail Admassu, fresh off of U21 World Cup glory, are making move to big money leagues to try and get her spot. Can she hold them off?

2. CB Kawsu Kaba

The center back has been excellent in his appearances for the Hoima Warriors in the BSL, with his past domestic season earning him plaudits from many around, and him just missing out on a spot on the All-Pro Team. The problem with Kaba, while extremely talented, is that, especially for hte national team, he lacks consistency. HE has been benched on numerous occasions by Marcus Waters, though he always goes back to Kaba to start a game, and play a majority of the match. Then 35 year old Center Back Abate Brehanu, however, repeatedly replaced Kaba defending big leads in big moments, illustrating the lack of the confidence in him.

But now, Brehanu has retired following the national team's bronze medals at World Cup 83, and there will be nowhere to hide for Kawsu Kaba. Ensa Camara and Brehanu have retired, and now, it will be Kaba leading the back line. Now, of course, he finds himself as the most experienced member of the back line- with Selassie moving to the bench and Bereket retiring, he is the leader of the defense. They couldn't get the job done in the Diamond Edition of the AOCAFs. Can they do so here at the Eagle's Cup?

3. LW Gitonga Kahara

With the retirements of Chibuzo Afolayan and Assefa Yitebarke from the national team, the boy wonder is the undisputed star of the Kadongo Kamu, and has long been hailed as the savior of the sport in this country. That tells you everything you need to know about the Boy Wonder's meteoric rise through Banijan soccer. He has been given lots of nicknames- the Boy Wonder, Banija's Football Savior, the Deliverer, etc... And he has never played a professional club game on Banijan soil. When he was just 16 years old, he moved to Project Olimpo in Kita-Hinode, and starred in their youth league, one of the world's best. Project Olimpo won a league title, and Gitonga Kahara was the star of the team, winning the Golden Boot that season. He then, of course, went to the U21 World Cup as the player everybody had their eyes on- was he the real deal?

The answer was an emphatic yes. Gitonga Kahara, and the team in general, simply could not stop scoring in Valanora. He scored a stunning 10 goals at the Di Bradini Cup- taking the tournament by storm, and being not only the best player on the pitch for the Banijans, but arguably the best player on the pitch at the tournament in general. His value, and name, exploded on the international scene. Randolf Cherry, much to the chagrin of Project Olimpo officials, was pushing him to leave before the window- see what he'd do in a top-flight league, while his value was high with the memory of the Di Bradini Cup fresh. Of course, during the window, he'd be able to probably get a better deal. But the fact of the matter was this- a move was better for his immediate career prospects, even if it was a serious question mark for his long-term career prospects.

He went to Polaris, in the Terranean League East. He helped lead his team earn the Pablito Numede Trophy, and, with a third place finish, finish with a berth in the Champions Cup. He looked likely to be a star in that league for a long, long time to come- and then, it came crashing down, as the Terrenean League East has faltered. He then made a big money move to OAS Royal FC, becoming the first ever Banijan to make an 8 digit move, being valued at $10 million NSDs by the side from Northeast Atlantian Oceania.

He is in his prime, and now, this is his team. Kahara is going to wear the armband going forward, for the first time at any level in his career. While the 23 went unchanged from the beginning of AOCAF LVIII, through the Champions Cup and all the way through World Cup 83, there has been a correction, with quite a few veterans calling it quits on their international careers, leaving time for the next generation to shine. While he's had his poor moments, including a red card in World Cup 84, he is capable of leading this team to new heights. Will he be able to do so?

4. GK Jumu Sanneh

The 35 year old goalkeeper has had a very interesting journey, at least in terms of his international career. He has been playing in VIlita for years, playing in the country's DeClasse Division. After Delbin Kasekende left the Banijan national team to start for the Islander national team following World Cup 80, there was a competition between the two then young guns- Lemuel Bereket and Jumu Sanneh. After the World Cup 81 cycle, Bereket asserted himself, and gripped tightly onto the #1 jersey for World Cup cycles 82-84. But Sanneh waited patiently. And with Bereket, now 35 years old, deciding to retire from international duty and extend his club career in Farfadillis, Sanneh has finally gotten a chance to wear the #1 jeersey.

He has starred in the DeClasse Division in Vilita- earning the second highest goalkeeper rating, and winning five man of the match awards throughout last season. But first becoming the full-time starter at his age- will he be able to hold the position? He struggled during AOCAF LX, especially in Banija's two losses, where he wasn't seen as having a strong performance in either of their losses. Will Marcus Waters give the other goalkeepers an opportunity to replace him during the Eagle's Cup?

Pasarga Roster
Nickname: Wanderers
Ranking: 25th
Most Caps: Mór Császár (196)
Most Goals: Ingþór Auðbjörnsson (124)

Kits
Image Image Image

Home Away Third
Modifier: +1

Manager: Meriadoc Griffiths Image, age 48
Assistant: Anna Kováts, age 46 (F)

Home Stadium: Stade de Torgos (90,000)

Goalkeepers
GK: Lisístrato Ramírez Alvardo, age 31, Cornellians Image
GK: Szescõ Mezei, age 24, Hellinic Rouge
GK: Ambrus Galambos, age 29, Stein-los Turkish

The job is definitely Galambos for the time being, all other competition to the number one kit have either aged out of are no longer performing to an international standard. Mezei is someone to keep an eye on but it will be Alvardo will be the one to play should Galambos need to be rested or dropped for whatever reason. Galambos is the taller of the two and that is perhaps the edge, besides having been part of the program for the last three or four years now.

Defenders
LB: Rozalia Sebeôk, age 27, Duke of the North (F)
LB/LW: Deli Ács, age, 26, Directus Image
CB: Lazar Meier, age 27, Directus Image
CB: Renata Novaković, age 28, Baskita FC (F)
CB: Laborc Szöllössy, age 26, Spartangrad Image
CB: Borsala Máté, age 28, Hellinic Rouge (F)
R/CB: Tabor Csikós, age 26, Spartangrad Image
RB: Mojmira Jović, age 25, Tanrısal (F)

This backline is not one that anyone will be very familar with, as Bader and Berg are both dropped and the entire defensive unit is shuffled up to try and sprice things up, with quick and technically strong players being brought in their stead. Meier and Szöllössy will be the starting pair in the center but don't be surprise if Máté forces her way into the rotation after a stellar domestic season with the Spartans. Jović and Ács will flank them, being the more attacking options to try and get this defensive unit to play to their strengths.

Midfielders

RW: Ildiko Kálmán, age 23, Lujano Image (F)
RW: Jan Gersten, age 29, Bastion Image
AMC: Mária Vöröss, age 26, Royal Canterlot HC Image
A/MC: Márió Szölösi, age 23, Ulsa Image
D/MC: Szalyk Földessy, age 26, Crawford City FC Image
MC: David Schweizer, age 28, Lunas FC
LW: Magdalena Debeljak, age 29, Hellinic Rouge (F)
LW: Pellegrin Csapó, age 23, Marque Image

Földessy will try to replicate his brother's success and be a major anchor for the team in that more defensive midfield position while Vöröss will get the nod as the more attacking midfielder, to play in the channels and put the through balls on for the strikers and wingers to latch onto. Out on the right the veteran Gerstan will look to use his dynamic playmaking capabilities to its fullest extent while the untested Debeljak will be on the left, which could be a major wildcard with both her and her understand in Pellegrin not having much in the way of experience on this level of play. Szölösi will be the first option off the bench, as he has been pushing for the full starter rather than just being rotated in.

Strikers

AMC/ST: Alexander Jager, age 30, Revolutionaries Image
ST: Adrián Makai, age 28, North Hall Image
ST: Nataša Horvat, age 28, Olympia FC Image (F)
ST: Júlia Müller, age 27, Rozelle Image (F)

Jager is looking for vindication, looking to cast away all of the doubt and shade that had put his way for the last decade, since he took the Young Wanderers' to DBC success. The haunting whispers of him never being good enough or the right person to lead the Wanderers' attack. Even after winning the Cup of Harmony, they still persist, of being a wasted potential. Júlia Müller is exactly the mold of player that the new manager likes, the pacy technical types and has usurped the penalty taking duties. Makai and Horvat are solid, quick options to pull off the bench, though Horvat has the better pedigree of goalscoring to her name.

Formation And Tactics
The new Brenecian manager has come with a positive attitude and look to refine the tactics being used rather than trying to reinventing the wheel. Known for having a preference for pacy players who have a good amount of technical skill, the team will likely be looking to use the creative players in the middle to try and dominate and wear down their opponents. One can fully expect the team to try and win the war of attrition with their pace, stamina, and skill, keeping possession when they can and looking to fly on the counter when their defense gets hemmed in.

Captain: Deli Ács
Corner Taker: Jan Gersten
Set Pieces: Alexander Jager
Penalties: Júlia Müller

OOC: I do sincerely apologize for the size of the images, by the time I realized they were quite so large I was too deep into the RP to have time to edit them!

The New Student Newsletter, International Edition- Welcome to Loyola!

Hello, incoming Blue Thunder of today and future leaders of tomorrow! Congratulations on enrolling to the greatest University in Banija, the multiverse's greatest Mormon institution, and a world-class institution of higher learning- Loyola University! I'm sure you're all excited to come to campus here in Istria in just 2 months time! Loyola University, commonly known as Loyola-Istria, is an institution that is always chasing excellence, and attempting to both continuously set and raise the bar. Achieve greatness, and strive for more greatness.

While integrally wrapped up in this country's history, and while Proudly Mormon, this is a University that praises diversity, both of thought and demographics! Everyone learns best working well with each other, and that is why this University absolutely strives to have a top notch class. You are a member of a select group- 9,182 students are part of this school's freshman class in the fall. 650 of you are getting this newsletter- our largest batch ever of international students.

Of course, many of you await some of the greatest four years of your life, while setting yourself up for a lifetime of success. And now, to get to the meat of this newsletter. OF course, you'll have seen HIST 105/205 as a mandatory freshman class. A History of Banija, or the Honors version. Many of our international students have not had exposure to Banijan history. And that's OK! The University experience is all about the free exchange of ideas, and learning opportunities for things you haven't had a chance to experience.

That is why we write this newsletter- to help get our students up to speed. Today's will be a brief overview of Banijan history, and how this country came to be. It'll just be an overview, but this will just help ensure that you can hit the ground running in your all-important first year of college.

By Dr. Hatabu Jarju
Loyola University Executive Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs

Part 1- The Unification Wars

LIke I said, we are going to be giving a brief overview of the history of the country. It'll be split into a couple of parts. Part I of our overview, of course, will be how Banija got the borders that we currently have. Formerly, there were 7 different tribes spread across all of Banija. For the purposes of this exercise, we don't really need to go through all of them- you'll learn about that in class in September. But for the overview, so you understand what you're getting into, we'll talk about the largest one- the Kasanke.

The Kasanke Tribe had been an entity since the year 1215, when Kizza I unified the four original clans living in that area, and defeated a fifth that ended up beating wiped out. Those four clans have an interesting history before 1215, but that won't be relevant for the purposes of your HIST 105 course. He was titled Shujaa, or Chief in Olusanke, of the Kasanke. We'll show you what that meant in real terms. We won't show the tribal map layout(again, you'll learn that in class!) but you'll see where the tribe at the center of our story, the Kasanke, were. The map at what the Kasanke were is below. They, largely, essentially with almost the exact same territory for almost 400 years.

Image
The part in orange is what was controlled by the Kasanke. The parts in brown are the rest of Modern-day Banija, and the part in red is the modern day Busoga Islands.

Remember- the part in brown is not one tribe, but controlled variously by 6 other major tribes. For the purposes of this discussion, their borders are not important. But everything changed with the discovery of golden plates. Of course, as some of you may know and some of you may not know, Mormonism in this country started with the discovery of the golden plates, outside Herzegovina City. Church and state have always been very intertwined within this country, of course- it is of little surprise that the country's dominant faith played a domineering role.

In 1614, it is believed that Kirunda Museveni, the brother of the then-Shujaa(Chief) of the Kasanke, discovered golden plates left by God's messenger. The religion was really catching fire in Northwestern Banija when, in 1616, Kabonero III, the then Shujaa of the Kasanke, and the namesake for Istria City FC's stadium, was converted to Mormonism by his brother and God. From then on, the rest of the tribe, across their territory quickly caught on. And that was when we believe he received an edict from God himself- unite this divided land, from the Timurian northern border to the Eastern river.

First, they went West. They were bloody battles, but they took the South Island of the Busoga Islands. Then, they went East. Those were the easier battles- bloodier, than easier. The below map shows exactly what the country looks like after 6 months of fighting. They had won in Lakiska- although they quickly lost the Islands after turning their attention to the East. They, of course, converted many on the way- more details you'll learn about in HIST 105. You'll see what they had left.

Image
Red is the Busoga Islands, orange is original Kasanke Territory, and yellow are conquests after the war. Brown is not controlled by Kasanke Tribe yet.

It took 14 months to conquer what is in brown, the rest of modern-Day Banija. If you want a more in-depth reading before you arrive for the semester, Read This chapter from the history of our church. It gives a good insight on the final battles to take over what is now Southern Banija, and exactly how bloody and brutal those battles war. But eventually, of course, with God at his back, triumphed. And the country itself was united. In 1618, upon conquering the south, Kabonero III established Busukuma on the ruins of the former city of Mawasha, declaring it the new capitol of a unified Banija, moving it from the previous Kasanke capitol of Istria. And, of course, he named the country Banija, as directed to do so by God's prophet.

And with that, he changed his title. He said while he will 'forever remain Kasanke', his title needed to reflect the New order within Banija. Therefore, he declared the country an Empire, and changed his title from Shujaa of the Kasanke, to Maharaja(Emperor) of the Banijan Empire. It was a title that stuck for 200 years. His ancestors continued the claim on the title for nearly 200 years. But 180 years after his first effort, Banija reached its territorial peak when Akena III, in 1798, finally conquered the Busoga Islands. Which gave us the map below.

Image
Everything in gray is Banija

Part 2- Colonization to Civil War to Recolonization to Independence

Now, of course, we are going to walk together through the next 100 or so years of Banijan history. Not that detailed a walk, considering you will be taking a class on it soon, but enough to ensure that you are able to hit the ground running once you arrive on campus.

1815, of course, was a pivotal year in Banijan history. That was when Banija was conquered for the first time by a foreign power, the Royal Kingdom of Quebec. Vastly superior technological advancements in Quebec from a Naval and army standpoint made the fighting short, quick, and the loss of relatively little blood- we knew a losing fight when we saw one.

Of course, as it is for any nation that has been colonized, it was a deeply shocking moment. The man who had been Maharaja, Karungu, abdicated from the throne at the time taking himself and his children out of the line of succession. He said it was because of his own 'shame' that he abdicated. Banijans would no longer style themselves with a political title, as Mvemba, his successor, styled himself as 'Pretender', in acknowledgement of no longer having sovereignty.

From there, the next major moment would be 1835. The first negotiated independence. The restoration of the monarchy, declared at the site of the modern-day Stadium of the Restoration. And then, a brutal civil war. Many of the minority tribes revolted, as Sebowa was crowned and re-established the title of Maharaja. You'll learn about the deeper underlying causes of that, in class. As the war reached a peak, the Royal Kingdom of Quebec came back to establish order in a country whose war was descending into chaos and madness. The war ended when, in 1841, Sebowa, his two wives, and his children were captured by his enemies and publicly beheaded.

Sebowa, to this day, is the last Banijan monarch to use the title of Maharaja. He was the last monarch to die in office until World Cup 82, when Albert III was assassinated. And, of course, the second colonization period was much longer. Slightly more hands on. The Mormon Church, alongside Catholic missionaries, established this very University during that period, and Northern Moravica University was founded as well, with the help of the Quebecois Government. That state of affairs existed until 1906, when an independence movement sparked up and Banija was declared independent once again.

You'll learn about other events. You'll learn about the Great War Debates, and you'll learn about the other, perhaps defining moment of modern Banijan history- the Banijan-Equestrian War. That's modern enough history, of course, where I probably don't need to give an overview. It's modern enough where that's mostly covered, not in HIST 105, but in PS 120, Banijan Politics in Atlantian Oceania. Of course, that's an elective, so not all of you will take it- but if you want to learn more about it, go ahead! But the important things to know are this- that war was a massive disaster for Banija, both militarily and politically, and it led to the independence of the Islamic Republic of the Busoga Islands, and Banija's recognition of her sovereignty. And, of course, it happened largely during World Cup 80 Qualifying, if you like to use sports as a reference point.

That leads us, of course, to the map we have today.

Image
The orange are the current borders of the Kingdom of Banija. The red is the Islamic Republic of the Busoga Islands. To the north, the yellow country is Timuria, and to the East, the purple country is Geisenfred.

Let's skip back though. There's an important thing we didn't bring up- our flag history! Upon independence, the then Pretender, Mugisha I, styled himself as Kabaka(King), and that is the title the Banijan Monarch uses to this day. For many years after that, the country's national flag was changed to the "Flag of Liberation", which had the three stripes of red, black, and green, with the yellow fist of black power at the center. That was the flag preferred by Mugisha I, and it was used by Mugisha I from 1906, all the way to World Cup 78.

It would be Mugisha III that would change the country's flag back to its traditional flag, as you can clearly see for yourself now. The orange, white, and green stripes with the Lion of Judah. The orange, representing the courage of the Banijan people, and the willingness to sacrifice, when necessary, for the greater good. The white, representing our desire for peace and the harmony of the Banijan, as well as Banija's harmony with her neighbors. The green represents the prosperity of the land that God has granted us. And the Lion represents the Royal Family, how it was established by God to rule in Banija.

Well, there you have it! My newsletter to you. Hope you're all ready to come on campus, excel inside and outside of the classroom, and become leaders of tomorrow! Gooo Blue Thunder!

Home Away

Manager
Colin Donaldson Image
Age: 54
Former Schottia skipper, and assistant boss under Lionel Mah, he is a legendary figure back home. He served his apprenticeship during Schottia’s rise to the top of the World Rankings, and has witnessed success - and the sacrifices required – up close. He’s attack minded, but not gung-ho, and will assess the squad before making a decision. Three years into his tenure, Donaldson has not made good on the promise he made to the VSC to make the Marauders true competitors for titles again. The Eagles Cups will hopefully be a situation where he can rectify the failings of his first three years and get the squad ready for the Qualifiers to come in the Fall.

Assistant Manager
Jens Reiniger Image
Age: 48
Reiniger was an intelligent defender in his playing days with Crawford City FC and the idea of stepping away from the game after his playing retirement didn't sit well with him. Reiniger believes in strict discipline but in being fair, while also preferring to play a possession based defensive tactic, that takes advantage of the opposition when they overextend. Much was admired about his single-minded approach to playing the 'right way', but his lack of a Plan B sank him in the rough waters of the Nepharim Premiership. The VSC hopes that attitude and defensive prowess would be better utilized in a national team capacity.

Keeper

1 Sean Smørdal, Starling Image
Age - 32
Sex - M
Height: 6'3"
Weight: 181 lbs
His height, sheer natural athleticism, and profound reflexes have been put to the test both domestically and for the national teams. There are many glimpses of what could be a stand out keeper for the ages but there seems to be a lack of focus to keep that majesty going. Regardless, he has proven to be one of the better keepers in the Marauders recent history and is heads and shoulders above the competition for the number one jersey. If he were to only refine that focus, get more consistent, then the Marauders could lessen their worry about defense and get back to playing the free flowing attacking play that they made famous nearly eighty years ago.

Defenders

4 Iben Fjørtoft, Raynor City United
Age - 32
Sex - F
Height: 5'10"
Weight: 158 lbs
Iben is a quick defender that typically plays on the right side for her the Rockers but can play more centrally if needed to. She is a quiet force that doesn't like to get forward unless she absolutely needs to, preferring to be that agile cover defender that allows the more offensive minded midfielders to get into the attacking area.

6 Eivind Strømmen, Eastal Lunar FC Image
Age - 31
Sex - M
Height: 6'3"
Weight: 191 lbs
Eivind is a strong and steely defender with a bit of a no nonsense approach to the game and is known for some bone crushing tackles that somehow are always deemed to be clean by officials.

2 Matheo Dybvik, Rozelle Image
Age - 28
Sex - M
Height: 6'1"
Weight: 164 lbs
Matheo is a smart centerback who has the versatility to both put in crunching tackles and also play it out of the back, perhaps a touch of his heiratage mixed in with his time in Brenecia. Unlike at his club, he will be asked to drift out wide to mark attackers, which is the biggest question mark of his game.

Midfield

8 Nora Kirkhus, Mar Sara FC
Age: 32
Sex - F
Height: 5'9"
Weight: 151 lbs
Nora was one of the first true stars to emerge from the Empire after the elves had all but left for other worlds. A quick and deadly crosser of the ball, she modeled her game a bit after va Drake and it seems only fitting that she is taking his place in the starting eleven after his sudden retirement. Age has yet to catch up to her, though she lacks the same finishing class or threat from a long shot her predecessor does, however she is quite an adequate replacement and more solid when being forced to defend.

7 Yuki Hatsune Image, FC Capri
Age - 32
Sex - M
Height: 5'9"
Weight: 147 lbs
This midfielder was born in the Sunrise Islands but came to Valanora at an early age and has really blossomed over the last five or so seasons to a versatile midfielder, though he prefers to play a little further up the pitch in a more attacking role. He's got an accurate shot from long range and can mix it up with most other players in the middle in those fifty-fifty balls, though he would prefer to leave that part of the game to the defenders and more defensive minded midfielders.

10 Laborious Hawk, Bastion Image
Age - 745
Sex -M
Height: 6'5"
Weight: 213 lbs
Words do not even begin to define his talent, his talent defines words. He was awarded one of the spots that the Vanorians have in the World Cup Hall of Fame, with it being very well deserved, as he has and continues to earn everything he has been given every single day. Hawk simply strives to be the very best footballer, captain, and teammate that there can be, with the hunger for perfection driving him forth on and off the pitch.

5 Jakob Larsen, Unioneers Image
Age - 28
Sex - M
Height: 6'2"
Weight: 174 lbs
A tall and lanky fellow, but don't let the lithe frame fool you, he is a destroyer through and through and will not think twice about putting in a crunching challenge on you in a fifty-fifty situation. Perhaps due to playing over in Eura, Larsen is a bit more of a physical player than most Vanorians but has that touch of technical class that one has come to expect from a Vanorian midfielder.

3 Simon Kvaal, Pikemouth Image
Age - 29
Sex - M
Height: 5'10"
Weight: 158 lbs
Truly a masterful maestro out wide, with both the dynamic passing and crossing ability that makes managers salivate and desire his services for their own club. With the departure of most of the elves, now bar Hawk, Kvaal finally has been given his chance to show that he is up to the Vanorian standard and can proudly be adorned in that five star crested kit that he grew up idolizing.

Strikers

9 Mariel Paulsen, Hondo FC
Age - 27
Sex - F
Height: 5'8"
Weight: 139 lbs
Quick, agile, and a real poacher of a striker, one that will hopefully work well in tandem with Møller as they seem to compliment one another quite well on paper. She had a breakthrough domestic campaign with the Owls last season, notching double digit goals and has earned her way into the national team spotlight. Thor is the more proven striker but Paulsen could be a missing ingredient to get the attack moving as a well oiled machine once more.

11 Thor Møller, OAS Royal FC Image
Age - 28
Sex - M
Height: 5'11"
Weight: 157 lbs
Few wondered if this day would come, but it has come at last as Thor makes good on the promise that so many saw from him as teenager and is into the full national team and among the starting eleven. Stronger than what he appears and reasonably quick enough to get past more bulky defenders, his shot is arguably his best asset with it seemingly a thunderstruck ball with laser guided accuracy, if you believed the fans. Decent enough at the build up play if needed but he does prefer to run at the defense rather than playing with his back to the net.

Subs

23 GK Samuel Nygård, age 32, Soldarian FC
15 L/CB Hans Vold, age 29, Rolalas FC

We are eternally grateful to The Computator for saving us from ourselves.

We will satisfy your want for more data.

Electrum National Football Team
presented by Electrum Football

General Information
The sentient creatures from the country of Electrum previously took part in a sporting endeavour called football, where the objective is to use feet (the bottom two limbs) to move the ball into the opposing team's netted zone, scoring one goal. The most goals wins the match. The creatures last participated in this form of competition in a tournament called "World Cup 80," before the catastrophe that required The Computator's intervention. The sentient creatures are highly susceptible to tribalism, and would boost morale amongst the creatures. We have procured (imported) overseas creatures from Electrum who were not in the country during the incident, who do not suffer from the effects of the time warp, to lead the tribe. We have also proceeded to appoint the chief strategist and managerial staff without a procurement process in order to maintain continuity and preserve experience. Finally, we have embedded some of our own, from other worlds, to assist the fledgling team. They are not expected to make great success.

Statistical Information

Coaching Staff
Manager: Lboaisa Akarelm
Assistant Manager: Jemima Bryant
Development Manage: Risa Shigaraki

We have continued to procure the services of strategist and also sentient creature Lboaisa Akarelm. Akarelm is a former native of the nation of Vilita, and who is noted for their remarkable unremarkableness. Akarelm was chosen for a one cycle contract, but the contract was not fulfilled properly by the predecessor team. Given The Computator respects the rule of law, we have decided to not execute the termination clause of the contract due to their inability to manage the tribe during World Cup 80. We will now give them another one cycle contract opportunity to prove their worth. Jemima Bryant is noted for her use of technology in decision making and could prove useful in other capacities for The Computator.

Manager: Brandon Sonnabend. Recently won the league with Bassabook Old Boys. Can be quick to substitute players out after perceived injuries; his critics say he has some double standards and is less willing to let women potentially play through the pain than men. He is also returning to the (1)-4-5-1 after the strikerless formation went out of style.

Goalkeepers:
1. Paige Daunten (La Nueva Avenida, Farfadillis) (f) (first tournament: WC82 Q)
12. Laurel Tinker-Witt (Strathcona Internationals, Kelssek) (f) (first tournament: WC84 Q)
23. Itzhak Canterbury (Spenson Suburbia) (m) (first tournament: Eagles Cup 8)

Defenders:
2. Randall Saitta (Bassabook Old Boys) (m) (7 goals) (first tournament: WC83 Q)
3. Chevanthi Arokiaraj (Namiri Forest) (f) (2 goals) (first tournament: CoH 72) (captain)
4. Sydney Stefred (Arlington City) (f) (2 goals) (first tournament: CoH 74)
5. Kurt Uehara (FC Soessch, Schottia) (m) (1 goal) (first tournament: CoH 74)
13. Allison Levi-Gold (Sporting Esper) (f) (1 goal) (first tournament: WC82 Q)
14. Tova Miovuku (Trebuchet Cham) (f) (1 goal) (first tournament: WC84 Q)
15. Akhil Sibal (Stade Djalenga, Mkabia) (m) (first tournament: WC84 Q)
16. Kausalya Vizirani (Namiri Forest) (f) (first tournament: Eagles Cup 8)

Midfielders:
6. Edwin Cherenkov-Nguyen (Trebuchet Cham) (m) (10 goals) (first tournament: WC83 Q)
7. Joshua Twoni (Arlington City) (m) (18 goals) (first tournament: WC82 Q)
8. Ione Friede (Canbix Muses) (f) (7 goals) (first tournament: WC82 Q)
9. Satenik Banach (Keppal Cosmos) (f) (5 goals) (first tournament: WC82 Q)
10. Jonah McCollins (Bassabook Old Boys) (m) (14 goals) (first tournament: WC83 Q)
17. Riley Kivrin (Arlington City) (f) (first tournament: WC83 Q)
18. Micah Angier (Eintracht Trink) (m) (6 goals) (first tournament: WC82 Q)
19. Sophie Munshi (Namiri Independent) (f) (2 goals) (first tournament: WC83 Q)
20. Amos Noile-Murne (Bassabook Old Boys) (m) (3 goals) (first tournament: WC84 Q)
21. Jaclyn Burkhart (Ephesian FC) (f) (2 goals) (first tournament: WC84 Q)

Forwards:
11. Johan Idmar (Keppal Cosmos) (m) (first tournament: Eagles Cup 8)
22. Gordon Blum (Bassabook Old Boys) (m) (first tournament: Eagles Cup 8)

Numbers 1-11 are the most likely starting eleven, but do whatever.

Stadiums:
MD1 vs Cosumar: ZS^3, Zwischen
MD3 vs Nephara: Stelladome, Fulpog
MD5 vs Turori: Eagles Club, Forbridge

The parliamentary republic of Zwangzug, an antisocial social democracy, has a long and--dare we say it--checkered history. The original national team competed through World Cup (qualifying campaign)s 33 through 42; a successor team participated in 64 through 69. After a hiatus caused by the country's sudden and devastating retreat into isolationism, a temporary recovery was made, and the national league (the 1./) which had emerged with the second iteration of the NT resumed play. Since World Cup 69, their involvement in the international world has been erratic; they won the 6th Eagle's Cup, and also participated in the seventh edition. They also participated in the WC80 cycle but were absent for 81, and re-resumed in 82, qualifying for WC83 and 84.

We finally have up-to-date factbooks with information about our players! And some more in-depth biographies!

Colors: White with black stripes. Or black with white stripes. We go for the basics.

If RPing first, please feel free to name goalscorers, injure, and distribute cards to my players at will! You can also godmod events, though I'd appreciate advance warning if you want to take narrative liberties that I couldn't just as easily do to your team (due to being, e.g., an MT, mostly-human country). Put another way, metaphorical "godmodding" is welcome if clever, but I'd avoid the literal sense.

The Spenson Star

It's too soon to talk about how things will be seen down the line, of course, but I suspect that when one considers the (1)-4-6-0 in the context of the Zwangzug national team, one will probably jump to Tavish Willow, his assessment of the relatively bleak attacking prospects available in World Cup 83, and then his somewhat-dramatic departure in the middle of the World Cup 84 qualifiers. My mental image of Enitan Maclaurin is of his unexpected return from anonymity in Vilita, aged but insightful, and that of Abigail Chatelenas as using the national job as a springboard to get a more stable position somewhere else. Yours may differ.

Which is a long way of saying, the (1)-4-5-1 is back, and fittingly so, against a young Riena that takes a similar if more attacking-minded approach. Experience--in international play if not this particular arrangement--carried the day, as Zwangzug would score through Edwin Cherenkov-Nguyen and debutant Johan Idmar.

Joshua Twoni was persistent in challenging Kano Uruha, and eventually managed to set up Cherenkov-Nguyen in minute 25. Satenik Banach had a speculative challenge shortly after the second half began, but she was tackled by Hijiri Sakuranami who lacked finesse in scraping up Banach more than the ball. The referee had none of it, and Jaclyn Burkhart took the free kick to set up Idmar's header.

Sonnabend's novelty drew little attention; his opposite number, at age 24, is still older than the entire Riena team, and they will surely be hoping to build on this and other friendly performances at the upcoming Baptism of Fire. For Zwangzug's part, they return to the Eagles Cup, a tournament that has seen a mix of sides and will be familiar to local fans as the platform for their triumph two editions prior.

By virtue of that championship, Zwangzug have been "drawn" with the other previous winners; Turori, Nephara, and Cosumar. After North Sabrefell's relegation from the Nepharim Premiership, Paige Daunten escaped to Farfadillis, where she can expect more stability opportunities for defense people who are good at football, I guess. The Turori matches could feature a showdown between Nubara Moafalia and Burkhart, teammates at Ephesian, though neither is likely to be a starter in general. It could also feature a showdown between Sydney Stefred, if she gets testy about "why the bleep are we seeding these doofuses based on their bleeping success prior to World Cup bleeping Seventeen," and the referee.

HINODEJIN EMPIRE NATIONAL... ROCK N' GOAL FOOTBALL TEAM?

When the Hinodejin received the invitation to play the Eagles Cup, people were rather confused: they already had sent a young team to play at the Campionato Esportiva and they sure as hell wouldn't put their major team to play a friendly competition that didn't exactly cater to their interests, regardless of whatever tradition it had. But because nobody rejects an invitation from a host unless busy with something major (like a war, thank fuck we're not doing that this time), they figured they would at least send someone to play. Then again, you got to admit it's kinda funny seeing some actual powers of the sport squaring off against the bloke who plays drummer for Shoestring Budget.

Reçueçn IC Info & Roster

Visiting Reçueçn

Reçueçn is a small nation, but it's got a lot to see. If you're visiting for the Eagles Cup, you may want to extend your stay to see the sights. Most travelers to Reçueçn will fly into Reçueçn city. As the capital and biggest city, it will definitely have the flight connection you need. Genève, the nation's second city, will also accommodate you in this regard, if you want to see some other parts of the country before heading to the capital for the Cup's games. If you are travelling from a nearby country, arriving by rail is also a possibility, and many more Reçueçian cities have international rail connections than have international airports.

For travel within the country, taking the train is probably the way to go. Car rentals are fairly expensive, and many cities restrict downtown access to pedestrians and public transport. When travelling through the countryside, you will find that autoroutes have high tolls, and smaller roads are typically wind annoyingly through steep mountain terrain. However, an extensive rail and tunnel network has been built, and taking the train is fairly cheap between most places in the nation. Bus routes also connect most larger towns. Within cities themselves, public transport is always very high quality and usually very affordable or in some cities, even free. During the Eagles Cup, there will be free buses between cities with venues in them. Hopefully these travel tips will enable you to explore the country beyond just the soccer matches.

What to See

Presumably if you're reading this, the main attraction that has brought you to Reçueçn is the Eagles Cup. The games will be played at the stade national in Reçueçn City. But if you want to see a bit more of Reçueçn, consider taking a ride up to a cute alpine village and hiking along a mountain ridge to appreciate the amazing views we have to offer. Or take a swim in a mountain lake and cool off in the shadow of the peaks. If you really are looking to ditch the heat, check out the ice tunnels at the Écho glaciers. Or, if you come back in the winter, you can hit the slopes--they might be nice and empty around now since all our skiers are Olympic athletes and are in Liventia searching for gold!

If the mountains aren't for you, consider visiting our world-famous cheese museum--free samples! Or visit the Genève Cathedral if the culture you're looking for isn't bacteria. Genève, Reçueçn, Zimmerich each have a beautiful downtown historic district worth the walking tour. Check them out if your idea of a good time means wandering through medieval fortifications or strolling down cobbled alleys. If what's up your alley is shopping, then we've got that too--check out Genève's luxury district for high end jewelry, fashion, watches, and more. Exchanging your money should be no problem: the Reçueçian guilder is very stable (it's worth just over 1.20 NSD).

Where to Stay, What to Eat

If you are on the search for the perfect hotel for your stay in Reçueçn, worry not. Plenty of all kinds abound, whether you're looking for the four star experience, or just want to save a buck. If you'd rather have the personal, local touch, then we've still got you covered: a quick look online will reveal plenty of family-owned bed & breakfasts, as well as short-term rentals with people trying to make some money off the empty spare room one night or week at a time. Hostels are also very popular in Reçueçn, and are a great way to stay near the city center for a very low cost.

What'll you have for dinner? Reçueçn's food is what will make you want to come back for another visit. We love our cheeses, and our national specialty is Raclette, melted cheese scraped over small potatoes, cornichons, and salami. Try it at a restaurant where each table is provided with its own small oven so each diner can melt their own. Another local specialty is Tartiflette, essentially a casserole of potatoes, onions, and lardon (thick-cut bacon) served with a slab of, you guessed it, more melted cheese cooked right over it.

If you find yourself in an alpine pasture hankering for a pique-nique, rather than seated at a fine dining establishment, don't worry, cheese is great for a basket-lunch too. Bring along a baguette and a saucisson, and you've got yourself a meal.

No meal in Reçueçn is complete without a glass of wine, and the local product is certainly worth the connoisseur's time. Reçuecian wine varies immensely depending on whether you're south, west, or north of the Alps, so try a few varieties and pick your favorite. If you need a pairing for your meal, it just so happens that everyone you'll meet on the street is a self-proclaimed expert ready with helpful advice. Just don't stop them on their way home for dinner.

Host Venue
Stade National, Reçueçn
Cap. 30,000

The home of the Unicorns, Reçueçn’s national team, Reçueçn’s national stadium is located in the capital of the nation and has hosted every one of the RNFT’s home games. Stade National was never officially named, and so is referred to as “le stade national” simply because that’s what it is—the national stadium. It is the largest stadium in the country and hosted the IAC 8 final a couple years ago.

National Team Information

The Reçuecian National Team is an up-and-coming one, but if it's known for anything, it's probably for the way it suddenly burst onto the international scene with two consecutive IAC medals and world cup qualifications, despite being unranked. It's also a highly defensive team—probably largely due to the influence of Reçueçn FC—the most popular domestic club in Reçueçn plays about as defensive a game as you can imagine. This is balanced out to some extent by the players from other teams with more attacking philosophies, but the league as a whole tends towards defense, and it shows in the national team. Furthermore, Gerauld Firaut, the team's #1 goalie, is the best player on the team by a solid margin—likely the only truly world class player. He and his defense for the foundation for the team as a whole. The team plays in a 4-3-3 formation, but sometimes the wings drop back, almost making it a 4-5-1. In general, the team's strategy and tactics are solid—Jacques Tremblay, the coach, knows his stuff despite his age. The weakness would be the quality of the talent on the team—Reçueçn has not yet had the opportunity to develop or train true world class talent.

The Reçueçian National Team's mascot is the Unicorn; thus another name for the team is "The Unicorns". The fantastical creature has been a symbol of Reçueçn for almost two millennia and is also the national animal, appearing as the supporters in the national coat of arms.

The team's kit represents the colors of the flag in a quite literal fashion. This kit was first one the Unicorns ever wore, dating back to the 59th Baptism of Fire. Today it is unpopular with fans, who think it is old-fashioned, badly designed, and ugly. Although the RNFA secretly admits that the fans are right and aims to replace the kit soon, they tout it as 'traditional' and promote its value as a connection to the team's past.

Do's and Don't's

Do say "Bonjour" to those you pass, if you're in a small town. Don't block the passageway in the metro if you're in the city. Do take your time to enjoy a meal or a conversation in western Reçueçn. Don't be late in eastern Reçueçn. Do greet people with a kiss on each cheek. Don't actually let your lips touch them. Do cheer loudly for your team! Don't insult the Unicorns in front of their fans. Do take a selfie with your head on the block at execution square in downtown Reçueçn. Don't miss out on your visit because you're on your phone the whole time. Do rent a bike and pedal around to see the sights. Don't be unprepared to parallel park if you've rented a car. Do make eye contact during a conversation. Don't stare at people. Do be ready to share gossip with perfect strangers. Don't expect people to open up to you right away. Do keep your hands above the table at dinner. Don't yawn when someone's talking to you. Do offer to help your host with cleaning up. Don't ask for seconds until offered. Do speak your mind and be straightforward.Don't bank on too much personal space.

Do have the time of your life.

CURRENT TEAM INFORMATION
A valiant effort from the Chromatiks, who needed to survive a Playoff Group Stage to make it to the World Cup Proper. Then... they went 0-0-3, gave up fifteen goals, and crashed out. This led to Silian Parker and Jillian Nier both calling it quits, the recent AOCAF being their last cycle. The Chromatik Football Federation, recently freed from the lawsuits that have plagued it, went and grabbed a foreign Manager for the very first time. This cycle's goals will be very simple - return to the Knockout Rounds of the World Cup.

MANAGEMENT

MANAGER
Image Konrad Evans, 51 WC Record: 15-3-5 Overall Record: 15-3-5 Debut Cycle: 84
Formerly of Corvette Maulers and Crisisbless United, Konrad Evans is the polar opposite of the Manager that Silian Parker was, being a motivator more than a tactician. Signed to a three-year initial term by the Chromatik Football Federation, Evans has actually been present at all the press conferences. The journalists of Chromatika have been shocked to get to speak to the Manager at all. Evans has been cautiously optimistic yet confident, paying reverence to the importance of Chromatik football to the country, but excited to get back onto the pitch and put the focus on returning to the Knockouts of the World Cup Proper. Having fallen just short of that mark, he has decreed that the AOCAF will now become a U-25 tournament to detail the up and coming stars of Chromatika.

ASSISTANT MANAGER
Image Katherine Everdeen, 40 Debut Cycle: 84
Formerly an assistant manager and scout for Appleoosa HC in the United League, Katherine Everdeen is a former Equestrian international who earned 26 caps as a forward for the Ponies during her career. Her younger sister, Elaine, has been far more successful as a player, but it has often been said that Katherine had a better approach to the mental side of the game. Everdeen has taken to get to know the players on a first name basis, and with the pair deciding on a fifty-person contingent, there's been a lot of work to do.

TEAM PHYSICIAN
Image Zoe "Z" Benne, 35 Debut Cycle: 80
After graduating summa cum laude from Chromatik City College University with a degree in Sports Physiology, Zoe, affectionately called "Z" by her peers, worked at the Capitalizt Dome until the CFF came calling. Strikingly beautiful and fit, nobody would question her if she put on the uniform herself and went out on the pitch; her physique definitely belong out there. Smart, calculating, and personable, there were actually some concerns about her becoming a visual distraction to the players, which were shot down quickly by her professionalism and integrity. That being said, the Chromatik locker room will be... a bit more spicy than before. The players have done an admirable job of keeping things professional between them, which has allowed her to perform her duties without a problem. It is hard to believe that the team didn't have a physio for a long time. Now rumored to be dating a now-retired Erika Morningstar - much to the conservative Chromatik media's chagrin - "Z" has really settled into her role.

It felt like nothing had happened. Governor-General Selina Wallace was sitting in her plush, cushioned chair in the middle of her office. Her desk had stacks of seemingly neverending paperwork. Wallace was a middle-aged woman, grey haired and pronounced crows feet, her eyes were framed by her owl-like glasses. She took off her glasses and rubbed her eyes, it was going to be a long morning looking and signing at documents. Of course, she had stayed up late into the previous night receiving the Electrumite national football team which had just landed in Centralis, congratulating them on their Round of 16 finish at the 80th World Cup. She lowered the brightness on her laptop, the harsh glare of the blue light was a bit unbearable right now. Looking at her organiser, she saw three events that she had to do that day, visiting a vineyard, giving a speech at some town, and then a dinner with the football team.

Wallace was just weeks into her one-year term as Governor-General of Electrum -- a ceremonial role with near-unlimited special powers, used only if the most dire of circumstances, when the country needed them. As with her predecessors, her appointment was chosen through sortition from all eligible voters. The majority of her time would have been taken up with meeting so-and-so important person, signing this document, and so forth. Would have.

Wallace blinked and signed the first batch of documents. Wallace was supposed to read each one carefully before signing -- the documents were all about appointing people to government positions, and the approval of regulations -- but she didn't, given that the documents given to the Governor-General were rarely of importance. By the time she got through the first stack, five minutes had elapsed. She looked up at her laptop again (she was a rather impatient woman and was looking forward to be driven to lunch at the vineyard), and noticed that the three events on her organiser program had disappeared. She sat their dumbfounded -- did her secretary clear them in the schedule? Why were there no events that day?

She pushed the button marked "SECRETARY" at her desk panel, which was located next to the "DURESS" button (Wallace had pressed a few times accidentally, much to the chagrin of her security detail who would storm in with guns blazing, surrounding her).

"Gary, why did you clear the --"

"Your Excellency, something seems wrong here," Gary replied quickly. Wallace knew that this was serious, Gary would only call her "Your Excellency" instead of "Ma'am," in formal situations. Gary would certainly not use her formal title if she asked for something over the intercom.

"I just noticed it too. It wasn't me. Ohhhh I see..."

"What's exactly is going on?"

Gary, the secretary just sitting outside of Wallace's office finally understood what was going on. "No, it's there. It seems to be a system glitch with the time, you'll notice we've skipped ahead by several years, I can't do the maths, just re-adjust it back, and your journal should resync with today's schedule."

"Is this some kind of glitch or something?"

"I'll go ask the guys in IT," replied Gary. Gary Mcleod had been the official Governor-General's secretary for five years, and Wallace was his sixth Governor-General that he would work under. "Let me fix it for you." Gary waltzed into the room and stood over Wallace's laptop, and started to adjust the year back to where it was supposed to be. "Now it's fixed, good as new, we leave for the vineyard in an hour. Oh wait, I've just noticed that your desktop photo is a picture of you when you had that acne breakout, here, let me change that into a more suitable photo for you..."

Before Wallace could give her thanks, a holographic screen appeared seemingly out of thin air in front of the two.

"We are The Computator. Four minds that share a singular entity. We come from the fifth dimension. And we've just saved your country from a time loop. You're welcome."

Image

"What the fuck is going on here," screamed Wallace, she leapt for the console, pushing over Gary who was leaning over to her laptop and pressed the "DURESS" button immediately. Gary was shocked at the sudden movement, and then was shocked at the screen that appeared. "I think I'm going to faint..." before he fell in a heap to the floor. A contingent of guards burst through with their guns and shielded the Governor-General from the screen, rolling Gary to the side as they surrounded her, like a meat shield. Try as they might, they couldn't stop the projection from disappearing, and no-one shot through it because there was no point in doing so.

"That is no way to speak to your saviours. Your country's scientists were experimenting with chrons, time particles that interact with the space-time fabric. What they didn't realise is that their three-dimensional math didn't account for the fifth dimensional Mobius surface, which caused the entire country to be stuck in a loop, doing the same thing for the last 4x2fd years. You've been sitting there blinking and signing documents for the past 4x2fe years."

To be continued...

The inspiration for the Computator comes from the Dune 2000 video game, from which the images come from.

NEPHARA
World Ranking:
4th
Preferred Formation: 4-4-2
Secondary Formation: 4-3-3
Style Modifier: 0
Home Stadium: The Farham Arena in Sabrefell is reserved for the biggest games, but Nephara is a large enough country that it spreads its matches across the nation.
Kit Supplier: ediraf
Nickname: The Cormorants

Daniella Strauss has preceded over two World Cup campaigns, following up Nephara's worst ever performance with, statistically, its best. So, God knows what to expect from them this Copa. Still, that one brilliant year appears to have lifted the shackles from what looked a systematically jaded, underachieving outfit. Maybe the good Nephara, the one that wins a shitload of trophies, is ready to come out to play for the first time in two decades.

Tactics
Image
As always, the Cormorants play hard and physical on the defensive and quick, broad and ruthless on the attack, especially loving to absorb pressure and hit on the break. Set pieces are also something of a specialty. They usually press hard and try and wear out the opponent, but are willing to sit back if they need to preserve a lead. The fullbacks are expected to overlap with their wingers and provide much of the team's width. The strikers - mostly, anyway - are all very physical and very capable of finishing, pressing high as the first defenders but also striving to get on the end of chances and to finish what the midfield starts. Nepharim play rough, some might even say dirty - but at least it's always honest, and outright cheating isn't tolerated culturally. Well, not unless it wins a REALLY important match.

The Godhead
For home matches, and during international tournaments, Nephara wheels out the 'Godhead', a giant boulder with an eerie resemblance to Gethin Ramsey, first manager of the Cormorants in the modern era and by now long dead. Nepharim have a superstitious streak, and while nobody's saying it is, in fact, the mystic reincarnation of their most iconic leader, nobody's quite not saying it, either. The Godhead is traditionally 'walked' to the stadium by Nepharim ultras using an intricate series of ropes, and often a flare is wedged into its 'mouth' to simulate a smoking cigar.

Staff
Manager - Daniella Strauss - Age 49
Assistant Manager - Monica Brightwater - Age 61
A former striker, Strauss has never done it at a truly big club - but then, the obvious candidates tend to fail for Nephara. Strauss turned a terrible Corvette side into a credible Premiership outfit for a time, and started to revitalise Southfell United before the Cormorants came calling. Unusually for Nepharim, she likes to keep ahold of the ball, but likes to play quick, aggressive football, with a high line choking the opposition. Monica Brightwater has experienced the Peter Principle first-hand, having managed Treason and Eastweald and failed at both. Even so, she offers a steady hand at the tiller to help Strauss implement her philosophy.

Goalkeepers
Core
1 - GK - Hesterine Mercator (Image Eastweald) - Age 29 - 48 caps, 22 clean sheets
Narrow-shouldered and rather horse-faced, Mercator carries the hopes of Nephara's future. She's outspoken on and off the pitch, unafraid to give referees and defenders alike a piece of her mind. A sharp, acrobatic shot-stopper, a little weak in the air.

12 - GK - Acatha Feldman (Image AFC Corvistone) - Age 29 - Uncapped
Amazing the effect a year can have on a career. Feldman was quietly accepted to be too good to rot in the second tier, got plucked out by the Crows and was everpresent as they fought their way to the top four for the first time in their history. A brilliantly agile shot-stopper, good with her feet in a pinch.

20 - GK - Fasolt Senninger (Image Creed United) - Age 25 - 4 caps, 1 clean sheet
Another former Stags backup who had to leave for fresh air, Senninger combines the physique of a shaved bear with balletic reflexes. An excellent, graceful shot-stopper, but lacking in the finer things.

Defenders
2 - RB - Rovena Stride (Image AFC Treason) - Age 22 - 11 caps, 1 goal
Stride's surname is apt. She's fast; very fast. She's still raw, and still occasionally slips up in her duties, but she tries to just do the simple things. Just, does all of them at once, racing upfield for overlapping runs to lash in raking low crosses, before tracking back at full speed to put in a crunching sliding tackle.

3 - LB - Marcin Close (Image Brinemouth, c) - Age 28 - 72 caps, 2 goals
An athletic fullback who has boundless energy, constantly chasing up the flank and tracking back diligently, a quiet and unremarkable professional of the pitch. With a maturity belying his years, Close just does what is needed. But perhaps that's reductive. One doesn't achieve what he has without the ability to change a game with the right tackle, or the right cross; Close has the pace to follow one up with the other.

5 - CB - Roxelana Thorn (Image Revolutionaries) - Age 26 - 65 caps, 1 goal
Tall, decisive and muscular, Thorn throws herself fearlessly into any challenge to keep the ball out of her net. The art of defending - the joy of defending - is not lost, not as long as Thorn is here. She has grown into a truly world-class defender.

6 - CB - Ilyana Brosch (Image AFC Corvistone) - Age 27 - 41 caps, 2 goals
A tall, grave figure, with a dense web of tattoos. Brosch doesn't really get angry. She just stares. It's worse, somehow. She's an uncompromising defender who sticks tight to her task, and is growing increasingly confident in possession.

18 - RB - Valeri Longship (Image Crisisbless) - Age 26 - 24 caps
Longship's small, unassuming body is inked almost head to toe. A troubled child whose apprenticeship at Morningstar allegedly included bribes from the club to get her a Year 10 certificate, Longship's anger flares up on the field not infrequently. But she's an excellent fullback, particularly on the defensive, forceful in the tackle and never out of position.

19 - LB - Sander Katarec (Image Starling) - Age 26 - 20 caps
A coltish, attacking fullback, Katarec excels at dealing damage down the left. Intelligent enough to find the right channels for a run or a pass, Katarec can deal serious damage, and he's sharp enough defensively to cover himself.

22 - CB - Gabriel Lockheed (Image AFC Treason) - Age 25 - 10 caps, 1 goal
Lockheed is a powerhouse, someone who was on no lists of future greats until injuries at the Stags thrust him into the firing line and he stood up flawlessly to the task. He combines physicality with intelligence and no small mastery of the dark arts.

Midfielders
4 - HM - Tawny Shone (Image Sabrefell Moths) - Age 26 - 60 caps, 6 goals
A true street-scrapper, from the hard part of Sabrefell. That reflects in her play, uncompromising and full-throttle despite her relatively small size, scampering around and committing niggling fouls.and sneaky ankle-taps. She's far more than a destroyer, though, and that becomes clear the moment she glides onto the ball and picks out a perfect pass from range.

7 - RM - Marica Kuepper (Image Jungle Strike) - Age 26 - 34 caps, 10 goals
Nepharim wingers do not generally have a reputation for flair - nevertheless, here the mercurial Marica Kuepper is, combining the traditional lightning pace, general bittiness and ability to handle herself in a scrap with the... let's be honest, arrogance required to really like humiliating her markers.

8 - CM - Malachi Chalk (Image Falourr) - Age 27 - 32 caps, 6 goals
Make no mistake, Chalk can handle himself in a scrap. He won't start one, but he'll finish one. He's assertive and confident in possession, but more efficient than flashy. His driving runs into the box cause havoc, and he'll be just as decisive at the other end, a true box-to-box man.

11 - LM - Rowena Strongbow (Image Directus) - Age 31 - 135 caps, 45 goals
A powerful, old-school Nepharim winger who burst onto the scene a while back and has impressed everyone for club and country. She's got it all - pace, power, professionalism, and pfinal ball. Surely one of the world's best players, having never taken a step back in her career. The first woman to ply her trade in Eura's leagues, she never looked back.

13 - RM - Monako Saroszi (Image Ulsa) - Age 28 - 73 caps, 19 goals
A fearless, driving winger, unafraid to get their hands dirty to get back the ball. They exude a quiet confidence that manifests itself on the pitch as flashy, decisive moves, and they're unafraid to take on a shot themselves. Their red card was the catalyst for everything going wrong last cycle. They have some redemption ahead.

15 - HM - Mercurio Kastriot (Image Crisisbless) - Age 25 - Uncapped
While Kastriot is a boxy, scrappy bruiser of a man, he's known as one of the Premiership's most progressive, oddly elegant defensive midfielders in possession. He will use any and all tricks to stop the opponent dead in their tracks, and knows just about every way to kill a game.

16 - LM - Morena Deventer (Image Brinemouth) - Age 25 - 31 caps, 11 goals
Deventer's got a real sense of mischief about her. She's a trouble-maker, at least on the pitch. Maybe a little off it. But her impish goblin grin conceals a brilliant football intelligence, which brings the best from her considerable technique and pace. Somewhat lightweight, and has a slight tendency to overthink things at this stage.

21 - AM - Chimera Moxham (Image Crawford City FC) - Age 27 - 78 caps, 33 goals
Aren't playmakers meant to be classy? Moxham isn't. She's arrogant, but not in an elegant way, she just always believes she knows the right thing to do, on and off the pitch. Perhaps annoyingly, she's usually right. Decision-making can be a bit flaky, but she has the pace, the eye for goal and even the defensive workrate to make up for it.

Forwards
9 - ST - Kurtis Bastable (Image Ulsa) - Age 25 - 39 caps, 23 goals
A sturdy figure with a low centre of gravity, immense strength and resilience, a deceptive change of pace and an unerring eye for goal, Bastable has emerged as the natural successor to Estrella Hawke, though he's less versatile in his skillset and better with the ball at his feet.

10 - ST - Aristide Metzger (Image AFC Treason) - Age 28 - 56 caps, 27 goals
Metzger has had to be patient, sticking with his hometown club, but has steadily been able to force his foot in the door as Roddy Fraser aged. And, no, he isn't nearly as clinical a goalscorer... yet. He's an all-action forward, with no setting to dial down the tempo. Plays hard and fast, and prefers power over placement.

14 - ST - Kurtis Laiota (Image Crisisbless) - Age 28 - 9 caps, 3 goals
Laiota is a thug, bluntly, and an unapologetic one at that. He's never happier than when sent to wade into melee with some muscular defenders and wrestle them out of formation. He's vicious, dirty and spiteful. He occasionally scores goals, too, but those are a bonus as much as anything.

17 - ST - Voska Avetisyan (Image Cornellians) - Age 22 - Uncapped
This... this is a sneaky one. Avetisyan's never been to mainland Nephara in her life. But like many Iskandrians, there's mainlander blood somewhere, and it's easy to get dual citizenship. And it's amazing how quickly you can get papers if you're a tall, powerful battering ram of a striker.

23 - ST - Konrad Lovelace (Image Starling) - Age 23 - 8 caps, 2 goals
'The new Estrella Hawke', according to excitable headlines that don't pay attention to anything that matters. They're both from Starling, they're both strikers, they're both athletic, they're both good. Thus far, Lovelace lacks a real dimension besides blistering pace, football intelligence and a ruthless finish - and also lacks a right boot. But he can still do the damage.

Pace, pace and pace. Brelk-Xeral's mantra isn't hard to understand. They have their side set up to overwhelm opponents with a high press, crowding them with bodies and it's impressive how well-drilled they are considering the limited amount of time international teams get on the training ground. It might be overly simplistic to say they just harry opponents into mistakes and capitalise, but... God, they are good at that. Wheeler, their lethal wingers and the overlapping runs from the fullbacks are relied upon to break down parked buses, as well as the bulk of their centre-halves from set pieces.

Staff
Manager - Brelk-Xeral Erv (QUS) - Age 47
Asst. Manager - Jess Curtin - Age 44

Brelk-Xeral is a visionary. The canny Qusmo is a strong tactician with a forthrightness that gets things done, and their appreciation for open, attacking football meshes nicely with the Southern school of Brenecian football. They favour a solid, trusted core of talent, like Jim Reid - unlike Jim Reid, they are ruthless when it comes to removing players who can no longer pull their weight. The astute former international midfielder Jess Curtin offers the local touch as assistant, having survived the change in regime.

Goalkeepers
Core
1 - GK - Cass Farrell (Image Northern Union) - Age 28 - 34 caps, 8 clean sheets
Raw-boned and confident, perhaps to a fault; Farrell worked hard on the training pitch to beat the errors out of her game, and it seems to have paid off. She's an excellent keeper in the Mathis Woodgate mould. Not really a sweeper, not great with the ball at her feet, accurate long distribution, and a near-unparalleled shot-stopper.

12 - GK - Opal Cairncross (Image Marketville) - Age 27 - 5 caps
A hard worker with high ambitions, Cairncross overcame the fatal flaw of not being especially tall or broad to succeed as a goalkeeper in Eura when she hadn't in Brenecia. Faintly bizarre, but she's a skilled and hardened shot-stopper with her sights set high.

20 - GK - Scathach Wright (Image Raynor City United) - Age 24 - Uncapped
An energetic and zealous sweeper, an acrobatic shot-stopper, an inspired distributor - Wright does a lot, and occasionally will make an error, but that's worth it. She is set for the very, very top.

Defenders
2 - RB - Caithe Shepherd (Image Northern Stallions) - Age 22 - Uncapped
Quick feet, big future.

3 - LB - Deimne Watermark (Image Northern Stallions) - Age 22 - Uncapped
Watermark is a sharp young defender, but his main claim to fame is once throwing up hungover during an A-League match the Stallions lost 8-0 as they claimed the title regardless.

5 - CB - Garrett Horgan (Image Northern Union) - Age 30 - 44 caps, 8 goals
A brawny enforcer who doesn't mind putting a bit of stick about. Horgan was one of Union's youth products at the time of their fall from grace; he had to put up with being shopped around on loan until his hometown club got back to the second tier, and ever since his return, he's helped them from that ignominy to a Champions Cup final. But he's the same bouncer as ever.

6 - CB - Keane Mathers (Image Northern Stallions) - Age 27 - 35 caps, 3 goals
Mathers is a shaved bear. That's pretty useful in a centre-half. He's clean on the ball, even relatively clean off it, knowing how to stay on the right side of the referee as he gently but firmly escorts his charges off to the edges. Unbeatable in the air, and even relatively not slow despite his bulk.

18 - RB - Sorcha Lonergan (Image Northern Union) - Age 24 - 13 caps, 1 goal
Lightning-quick, Lonergan's attacking play could use work but she's already a resolute defender with an excellent mentality and a hunger to learn. She's tireless and energetic, and her concentration never slips.

19 - LB - Morwen Prentice (Image Farrenton Athletic) - Age 26 - 43 caps, 1 goal
A lean, elegant fullback, comfortable with the ball at her feet. Her confidence and technique will take her far if she can sharpen up defensively, but she isn't young anymore and needs to take that next step in her career.

22 - CB - Finn Leadbetter (Image Holdenberg) - Age 22 - Uncapped
A colossal defender who loves to put a bit of stick about. The art of defending and the joy of defending remain alive whenever Leadbetter is on the pitch. His destiny is to rise high.

Midfielders
4 - DM - Finn Townsend (Image North Hall) - Age 25 - 6 caps
A pure destroyer, with youth and verve to burn. Is a game really complete without a caution? Oh, Townsend is nothing but dirt - and the occasional rocket at goal. There's definitely scope to develop further, but he can do a very straightforward job as things stand.

8 - CM - Elysse Matheson (Image Hornchurch, c) - Age 26 - 58 caps, 16 goals
A pacy, frictionless midfielder, Matheson passed up the chance to develop at high-flying Rozelle to slum it at Hornchurch, doing the hard yards in Eura. It's already brought out a new dimension in her. She's not a passing playmaker, but a driving force from midfield, eager to make a mark on the edges of the box.

13 - CM - Corby Wheeler (Image Ramusok United) - Age 28 - 96 caps, 31 goals
A sharp, ambitious midfielder who is constantly darting in and about the danger zone. Has a great vision and a passing range that doesn't quite match it, and can fade out of games, but as a mercurial game-changer she's without equal in the side. After being a major culprit in Reid's downfall, Wheeler's had a new lease of life after the change in management.

14 - CM - Esther Caitiff (Image Southern Star) - Age 22 - Uncapped
Expert at deft touches and ankle-taps.

21 - CM - Riona Parker (Image Galatica) - Age 26 - 17 caps, 2 goals
A lithe, diligent playmaker, Parker has a street footballer's talent for a clever first touch, an egotist's penchant for long shots and her own penchant for cheating. If anyone on the team is going to totally feign contact and dive, it's her. By all accounts, a far nicer person off the pitch than on it.

23 - DM - Ronan Fallon (Image Newrook City) - Age 26 - 13 caps
Fallon loves to defend, and properly get stuck into opponents. There is nothing subtle about his style, and he'll never go missing on the pitch. Well, unless he's sent off, of which there is a non-zero risk. He knows his ability on the ball is limited and doesn't try to overstretch it.

Forwards
7 - RW - Lauren Cheney (Image Spartangrad) - Age 25 - 55 caps, 18 goals
Much of the hope for the Brenecian future hangs on Cheney's broad shoulders. A street footballer at her heart, Cheney has a very un-Brenecian ego problem, and expresses it in very Brenecian passive-aggression and a need to work harder and better than anyone and everyone around her. Fast, tough, and with an eye for goal.

9 - ST - Mhacha White (Image Farrenton Athletic) - Age 20 - 3 caps, 1 goal
Like Ursula Rankin, White made her way through FC Endeavour's overclocked reserves program, the Centre for Excellence before seeking regular minutes elsewhere; like Ursula Rankin, she's a boxy poacher with a quick switch of pace and a great eye for turning. But she's tall. And might actually have a few more strings to her bow, too. She's raw right now, but in the future...

10 - ST - Kara Ciogach (Image Lajuno) - Age 27 - 47 caps, 28 goals
The shining new hope of Brenecia's strikers, Ciogach is, typically, Schottic. She even won a couple of caps for them. Nevertheless, here she is. She's ambitious, strong despite a lithe physique, fast as hell, and able to finish with either foot or the head. Without really meaning to, she's become the talisman of the team.

11 - LW - Tricia Pace (Image Northern Union) - Age 22 - Uncapped
It's all in the name, hon.

15 - RW - Nuada Speaker (Image North Hall) - Age 22 - Uncapped
Straightforward and orthodox.

16 - LW - Ceridwen Fletcher (Image Holdenberg) - Age 24 - 41 caps, 9 goals
It's hard not to couch Fletcher as Cheney's opposite; a tall, elegant Northerner, less versatile or direct but with a peach of a left boot that can be rapier or sledgehammer, depending on what's required. Her potential is immense, and there's every sign she'll fulfil it.

17 - ST - Creidne Lindauer (Image Cazadores Cathair) - Age 26 - 15 caps, 9 goals
Lindauer isn't versatile. She's very quick, very clever, and she's a very good finisher. Despite some people almost hoping for the unglamorous, outspoken forward to get found out for her hometown club, it's yet to happen, and she's flourished sufficiently to become an impact option for the Patriots.

For the Eagle's Cup, the FFFF has decided to limit the pool of players to amateur players aged 17-23, with at least three coming from each major nation in Farfadillis. The FFFF hopes that a couple of good young prospects, who would've otherwise flown under the radar, hit the ground running thanks to this project. It is unlikely.

The Eternal Empire - A Case Study

Vanorian Arrosia
Image
The unofficial flag of Arrosia
Arrosia, the name given to the continent that the realm of Valanora inhabits. By Vanorian accounts, there were no other peoples who had settled in the lands that would later make up the homeland of the Eternal Empire, with the seven elves who would go on to found the beginnings of the Eternal Empire supposedly being the first peoples on the land. Where those elves came from and how they got to Arrosia remain a mystery to this day, even if supposed supernatural evidence would suggest that they came from other dimension, there is little scientific fact to back up such claims. Regardless, those seven elves arrived in Arrosia and traversed its great expanse for some time before settling down at a spot where they found a white tree with golden fruit, what had supposedly been a prophecy they were fulfilling.

Nearly twenty thousand years later, Arrosia is inhabited completely by the Eternal Empire, with a diverse population that occupies its borders. The nomadic tribes of the Dark Templara set up temporary residences in the northern half of the continent but move from time to time and never truly settle down, though they have sworn their allegiance to the Empire. There is also a substantial amount of dwarves who live in the mountain ranges in the center of the continent, the central mountain being aptly named The Spine of Arrosia, which had initially made up the northeastern border of the early Vanorian kingdom. A much smaller population of peoples in those mountain ranges are what the Elves called dragonkin, humanoid bidels who had many dragon-like characteristics, with these people saying they are from a dragon lineage. Their numbers are few but they are known for having near perfect memory, extraordinary strength, and a variety of differing "breath" effects.

However the largest part of the population is now made up of humans, the lesser lived kin of elvenkind, though whose brevity leads to a great deal of ambition and gusto leads to a varied existence among its populace, a populace that makes up most the known nations and worlds that the elves know of. Of the elves, where once there numbers were in the tens of millions, it is now in the tens of thousands and while they hold sway, they no longer can assert total domination of the Empire. All the same, the different peoples of the continent coexist and cooperate for the good of the nation, even if the dragonkin are more secluded than the rest of the population. Where once it was just the Vanorian flag that flew in front of the government and public buildings on the continent, with the expansion of the Empire from just the continent, a second flag can often be seen flying just below the Vanorian flag, a flag made by someone in Mertagne, though no one remembers if they did so of their own volition or if they were commissioned for the work.

Vyinta
The island state of Vyinta was once a colony then turned protectorate of the Elves of Valanora. Unlike mainland Arrosia, the majority of the population of Vyinta has always been human, as the elves had originally found a small human population on the island when they settled on the island. After several decades of existing as a protectorate, as the Elves withdrew their colonization efforts upon the discovery of indigenous population, the island was formally incorporated into the Empire and is often seen by outsiders as merely an extension of Arrosia itself. However the people on the island are very proud of their heritage and make a big distinction of being Vyintanese rather than from the continent, even if their loyalty to the Empire itself is as solid as the very stones that make up their island.

Sabine and Caddonia
The combined states of Sabine and Caddonia were originally the states of Vephrall and Kura-Pelland, whom upon the collapse of their governments, the Empire sent in peacekeeping forces to keep the people and land maintained. While the population and settlements changed with the fright of governmental collapse, eventually the people of the lands calmed themselves and began to live their lives normally once more. After nearly a century of being a protectorate of the Empire, the states were incorporated formally into the Empire six years ago when a citizen from Sabine and Caddonia was elected to the Emperor position, following the disappearance of Tobias Raynor and the majority of the elven population of the Empire. While the integration of subcontinent and its surrounding islands are still going a bit slow, little steps have been made to truly begin the nations into the fold. Its population is entirely human, barring a handful of elves who had been serving as peacekeeping forces for the region prior to the incorporation of the states into the Empire as a whole.

Who are the Pariis?

Image
Map of Pasarga
There was a time not that long ago that if you stopped any Pasargan citizen and asked them who the Pariss were and why they were important in the Pasargan history, the odds were that they would have the answer in full and be quite proud of that fact. However time has a way of erasing the edges of history and culture, of what is meaningful and why, details being misremembered or misquoted or merely forgotten. That is the case now, where most citizens of the dual islands and of Rushmore in general could not answer the very basic question of "Who are the Pariis?". The answer of course is one that is complex and yet simple all in the same stroke, for the the Pariis are Pasargans themselves and Pasargans are the Pariis. The name arrives from the old lands from which the Pasargan people first inhabited nearly a thousand years ago before their sojourn into these lands that would later be called Rushmore as a collective region, for it is derived from the name Persia and that the Pariis were those citizens that were fleeing the nation as it fell into ruin from both internal strife and foreign invaders.

The lands of Persia are lost to modern scholars, with some suggesting that the lands themselves have sunk beneath the waves like that of the ancient story of Atlantis in RLStates, however no evidence of such has ever been produced to back up that theory. According to the tales of the Pariis, they had sailed for at least six months, if not more, hundreds of ships containing all those who dared to dream that they could one day reestablish their empire to its former glory. Thousands, perhaps even tens of thousands of souls were aboard those vessels and after months out at sea, they came upon the islands of Pargis and Peynol, names that the Pariis later gave to the islands. With the island of Pargis resembling a crescent moon by the cartographers among them, those who were the leaders of these people held a conference and decided that the symbolism that was associated with their former empire and the shape of this new island lead them to believe that this was the proper place to settle down. With a pair of resource rich islands, with vast amounts of minerals and gems in the mountains of Pargis, there was plenty of reason to believe that a rich and powerful nation could be established here.

The majority of the ships decided to make for the shores of Pargis, while a few dozen instead chose to move to Peynol, establishing a large port in the northwesternly tip of the island, where the land started to curve in to establish a natural harbor and a defensible position should there have been invaders or raiders that the settlers would have to deal with. It was a rough first two years for the settler of the islands, as they had to acclimatize to a new enviornment, as well having nearly exhausted the majority of their food stores in the voyage from their previous lands to this new beginning that they were undertaking. Luckily for the group, Peynol had very rich soil and the settlers there were able to produce enough food for both of the settlements to feed their population, though it was rationed quite heavily to ensure that it would last. However two years into their colonization, things started to take a turn for the better as miners on Pargis had struck rich veins of both gold and iron and soon the merchants were out on the water looking to gather wealth and resources from whoever else was in these waters.

It did not take long for a new identity to emerge from these settlers, casting aside their old identities as Persians or even the Pariis and they had come to call their islands the state of Pasarga. However there was a reverence for these former identities, particularly for the Pariis, it was a difficult journey that they had to endure and that they had come this far was a testament to how strong their spirit was. While it was time for them to forge their own way ahead, there was also time to respect that which they had done before. And so the Pariis became the Pasargans and the Pasargans became the Pariis, the two are the same and the very people who founded the nation of the dual islands.

The national team receives its kits from two different companies, though the design for each is the same. Kits for the humanoid players (see above) are provided by Kirola Sportswear of Audioslavia, while those for equine and other non-humanoid players are provided by Generosity Sporting Equipment. The traditional Ponies kit is modeled after the national flag: royal purple with a sunrise orange sash; while goalkeepers typically wear a powder blue shirt with a white sash, inspired by the Regal Sisters' royal banner.

Manager & Staff

Appointed as manager of the national team before the 70th World Cup by the Hoofball Association, after Twilight Striker's resignation in the wake of a disastrous World Cup 69 campaign, Pearly White has since overseen Equestria's ascent to a hoofballing power and the realization of the Ponies' greatest ambitions. Her steady hoof has guided the Ponies to glory, and her recent induction into the World Cup Hall of Fame has cemented her status as a legendary figure in Equestrian hoofball history, despite her relatively young age. Pearly White's assistant, and current manager of the Whitetail Foresters, Dreamy Skies also remains with the Equestrian national team, at least for now, although rumors that the longtime Ponies assistant will be tapped for the top job by another association have only intensified after Equestria's World Cup 83 victory. Meanwhile, former national team midfielder Starlight Sparkle joins the Ponies' coaching staff as a second assistant manager, returning to the sport after enjoying several years of retirement. Her role as a team leader in Equestria’s first few World Cup campaigns should help her to succeed as a coach for the latest Ponies generation.

Image
Manager - Image Pearly White (Earth Pony - Female) - 48
Appointed interim manager of the national team by the Hoofball Association following the resignation of Twilight Striker - the Ponies' long-time boss of some 12 World Cup campaigns - Pearly White secured the position on a permanent basis with a number of impressive performances against higher-ranked opposition in her first games at the helm, including a stunning upset of then-defending world champions Vilita in the 3rd Cup of Champions. Since then, Pearly White has done nothing to give her employers any doubts that she's the best pony for the job, leading the Equestrian States on a Runner Cup title run without dropping a single point and reaching the 4th Cup of Champions semifinals before capping it all off with a second round appearance at the World Cup finals.

Image
Assistant Manager - Image Dreamy Skies (Pegasus - Female) - 44
Not very long ago, Dreamy Skies was a rookie manager taking the reins of Second League club Whitetail Foresters. Her arrival had a near-instant impact on the club's fortunes as they were promoted to the United League the following season and now regularly contend for UICA berths, an incredible improvement in such a short period of time for a team once known largely for producing talent which was then poached by bigger clubs, at the Foresters' expense. When Pearly White first took charge of the Equestrian senior team, she managed to convince the HA that the still-young pegasus would be a strong addition to the Ponies' coaching staff, and thus far it has paid-off spectacularly. Players routinely praise Dreamy Skies for her enthusiastic optimism and superb work ethic which makes her a popular figure in the locker room and on the practice field.

Image
Goalkeeping Coach - Image Fire Blossom (Unicorn - Male) - 53
Responsible for training the Ponies' goalkeepers is Fire Blossom, whose exploits as a keeper in the old Equestrian Premier League earned him much respect amongst early Equestrian hoofball fans and eventually a job with the national team. Fire Blossom's prophetic praise of a teenage prospect named Gentle Breeze and his subsequent push for her initial selection to the senior team for World Cup 62 qualifying have since earned him a reputation as a natural judge of potential, not to mention a considerable amount of credit for Gentle Breeze's many successes.

Image
Scout - Image Diamond Star (Unicorn - Female) - 51
Originally chief scout under Twilight Striker with the Canterlot Royals, Diamond Star was later hired for the national team by the Royals' and Ponies' manager to help identify young Equestrian players with international potential, and the unicorn scout did not fail in her task. Among the current national team stars first scouted by Diamond Star are Thunderlane, Cloudchaser, Rainbow Blitz, and Pristina Shine. Now the manager of Stalliongrad HC, Diamond Star has seen her national team role diminished, though she still provides valuable advice to Pearly White regarding her observations of potential internationals within the United League.

Image
Scout - Image Golden Hooves (Earth Pony - Female) - 62
A veteran member of the Equestrian States staff, Golden Hooves has been around the national team for what seems like forever, her longevity speaking to her performance as a reliable scout. While fellow Ponies scout Diamond Star's focus lies primarily upon United League players and her evaluation of their potential with regards to the senior team, Golden Hooves is responsible mostly for scouting Equestrians on foreign clubs and assessing the Ponies' opponents and how their players compare with those available to the Ponies.

Image
Fitness Coach - Image Craig Jackson (Human - Male) - 51
Hired in the midst of the injury plague which characterized the Ponies' World Cup 63 qualifying campaign, Craig Jackson was the first human member of the Ponies' staff and has done well to keep Equestrian players' injuries minimal in the years since then. While fitness coaches generally don't get much respect or attention from the press, Jackson's gift for keeping players of various biologically-diverse species in near-perfect health throughout grueling tournament schedules which can push them above and beyond their limits is certainly nothing to be dismissed as trivial.

Strategy & Play Style

Image
Note: Players' names and numbers may not be updated, see roster for details.

The Ponies' most-used formation is the slightly modified 3-5-2, preferred by former manager Twilight Striker because of the strength and dominance of the Equestrian midfielders. Thanks to the versatility of the Equestrian States' players, the formation gives the Ponies the ability to shift quickly from the offense to the defense and vice-versa. More recently, however, the Equestrians have begun to shy away from the 3-5-2 in favor of the 4-2-3-1 in order to strengthen the back line and keep their opponents guessing. Aside from the formations themselves, the Equestrians have a number of definitive strengths and weaknesses.

First, the Ponies are among the world's fastest and most durable teams, using their natural advantages to tire out opponents. With those two traits as the defining characteristics of the Equestrian style of play, the squad excels at producing chances in the latter stages of the match. But while the attack dominates the second half, opposing squads have occasionally found success going all-out at the start of the match in an attempt to build an insurmountable lead.

Another area in which the Equestrian States has traditionally dominated is in the aerial battles for headers. While the Ponies are generally shorter than their opponents, the team is often credited with impressive leaping abilities (particularly among the pegasai players). Controlling headers makes the team lethal on corner kicks, and opponents looking to defeat the Equestrians must limit the number conceded to the Ponies or else face a barrage of dangerous short-range shots from the Ponies' attackers.

(OOC: Bit rushed but oh well)

An oversimplification of centuries, but probably millennia, of ethnic tension of which there's little record except for the current ethnic tension

It is no secret that Farfadillis is extremely multicultural for an island of its size. However, to outsiders, who have probably only ever heard of Farfadillis because of football and political instability, all Farf ethnicities might blend into one. Can the average Vilitan tell a Rulandese man apart from a Ferdullaelan? Can the average Banijan? How about the average Audioslavian? Ok, the last one definitely can't, but it's likely the other two can't either. To the average Rulandese, being confused with a Ferdullaelan would be a terrible insult, and vice-versa. So, what makes each eth-non-state distinct?

FERDULLAELE

First off, what used to be the capital state. Ferdullaele is a state located in the northeast of the island. The most fertile land is there and, as a result, it is suspected that they've always been ahead of the rest of the pack economically. This has translated into a healthy dose of cultural hegemony: all Farves must learn Ferdullaelan, as it is the lingua France of the island. Almost all companies used to be managed from Ferdullaele, and the government officials were generally from there as well. About twenty years ago, the situation escalated into a revolution and things became only worse from there. Nowadays, Ferdullaele is still the richest place in Farfadillis, but it has also had its quality of life affected the most out of all the nations: they used to have pretty much a first-world quality of life, and they now live in utter chaos. Ferdullaelans are currently the most hated and resented ethnicity in Farfadillis.

FRÖNDT

You know that brother you have that barely shows up to family meetings? That's Fröndt's deal too. Fröndt is a very mountainous region, and most urban centers are in those mountains. The weather is extremely dry and cold, and the fauna is unforgiving. Flying jellyfish abound nowadays. The Fröndti are typically more hard-working and level-headed than other Farves - or so they like to believe - and think of themselves as the reasonable, neutral people of the island. The rest of the island disagrees. They've had trouble with the extremely harsh winters and the flying jellyfish lately, but they're a resilient bunch, so they've adapted to the times.

SZOIRSIA

Farfadillis, despite its size, varies wildly in its biomes. Right next to the mountainous region of Fröndt, we find the desert region of Szoirsia. Szoirsians are used to the extreme heat and dehydration that comes with their surroundings. They resort to violence first and foremost to solve problems, perhaps even more than Rülândéá. Szoirsians speak one of the most distinct languages of the island: Szoirsian. Outsiders that have come into contact with the language tend to call it either "French but weird" or "Hungarian but weird", though we're not quite sure where the nations of French or Hungaria are located. Most scholars agree that there used to be two distinct languages in Szoirsia and, indeed, two ethnic groups, that at some point in the past converged into one. Farves are bad at not burning books, though, so there's no way to be sure.

KRUVIŠ

Kruviš is the most populated of the nations, though only by a slight margin and if you're willing to trust a Farf census from twenty-five years ago. This nation is mostly one huge jungle, but closer to the coast the jungle gives way for civilization... to a degree. The fauna here is perhaps the most dangerous you'll find in the island, which is really saying something. Wasps that explode (like bombs) when stinging, spider-snakes, frogs whose poison literally sends you to hell, etc. Why, you ask, is this the mostt populous nation, then? Probably human stubbornness.

INDUJA

Indujans are literally "the people of the center". They are the people that live in the center of Farfadillis. All of the beautiful Farf biomes clash in Induja, which makes it the most naturally beautiful of the states. By driving less thatn two hundred kilometers, you can go from jungle to desert to plains to mountains. Due to this, Indujans are actually quite secluded, despite bordering a whooping six other ethnicities. Indujans are traditionally... well, forgotten. To most Farves, they're just that place you have to go through to reach other places.

TANAZZA

"Me neither, to be honest." That's the average non-Farf's answer to "I didn't know this place existed." And it's for good reason. Tanazza is rather uninhabited, as it is precisely 50% jungle and 50% desert. The inhabitable parts are at the edge of both. Tanazzans have a notoriously hard time getting out of Tanazza because there's no roads out. And now, no planes. They had to traverse either the jungle or the desert to make it anywhere. Safe to say, the destruction of supply chains have made the societal collapse hit Tanazza very, very hard.

FAROLERA

Farolerans have always played second-fiddle to Ferdullaelans. Their territory is filled with lush forests and fertile farmland, and they've got a population about the size of Kruviš's. However, Ferdullaele's cultural hegemony and better economy (product of exploiting the rest of the nations) always had them ahead. Not so much in recent years, however: their capacity for self-sustenance is commendable, and one could argue they're faring better than their Ferdullaelan counterparts. Farolerans speak Faroleran, known as "Spanish" to some other countries. We do not know where "Span" is, either. The past leader of Farfadillis, Alex Terán - who helped plunge Farfadillis into this mess - is rumored to be gathering support in Farolera to form a new government, but you didn't hear that from us.

RÜLÂNDÉÁ

Traditionally the poorest and most abused of the nations, it's safe to say the Rulandese have never had it good. Rampant crime, terrible quality of life, and a very long etc. Nowadays, anti-Rulandese sentiment is at an all-time high, as most Farves view their "petty squabbles" with Ferdullaele as the root cause for the current crisis. They're one of the most well-known ethnicities of the island because they produce better footballers than the rest of the island combined, to the point that some of the best players in the multiverse come from this relatively small, run-down nation. Their language is notorious for having too many diacritics.

KARINTHIA

Very little is known of them. They're a recently-discovered tribe (of about thirty thousand people) who were living in the Szoirsian desert. Some scientists believe they'd flown under the radar for millennia, somehow. They seem to speak a language with no similarities with any other Farf language. The Farves that have come into contact with them have found them very bizarre, for the most part because they seemed to pay attention to detail and have a commendable work ethic, coupled with a fleshed-out concept of respect and hierarchy. One thing about them is shared with all other ethnicities, however: they venerate fire.

So, you might be wondering: who hates who? The answer is they all hate each other, with one big caveat: small groups of Farves tend to get along just fine. Take, for example, the Farfadillis national team. It is when numbers get big that xenophobia runs rampant. Also, nobody hates the Karinthians yet, but just give them time.

Turorian Vexillology
Image Image

The Eagle's Club, Eelandii, Turori :: Unlike their colonial neighbors, the Tropics of Vilita - The Island Emirate of Turori have no official former or rejected flags. In fact, they have been flying the very same flag over the capital for as long as they have considered themselves their own entity worthy enough of flying their own flag. While there are no rejected or former flag designs, there are some alternate Turorian representations that will be found in the local souvenir shops while fans are searching for nick knacks to bring home with them. Most commonly found in the capital city of Almintora, these alternate flag designs cater to the tourist who looks for something to bring home that immediately screams "Turori" if the standard Eelskin Brown flag did not do it well enough.

Image

Cocoabo Forest

For those attending Turori's match against Cosumar, they will be visiting the Cocoabo Park in the Cocoabo Forest and will see a different flag on display for the lands that are officially protected for free use of the Cocoabo. There are no citizen specific developments or communities within the Cocoabo Forest other than Cocoabo Park itself and a handful of Oasis locations along the Tropicorp-run transportation routes throughout. The flag features Turori's Native Cocoabo highlighted above the Forest which they now roam.

Re-unification Faction

For those attending the matches against Zwangug or Nephara which will take place in the capital city of Almintora and the Purpose Built city of Eelandii, they will likely only come across the National Flag of Turori. Particularly in the Capital City of Almintora, however, there is been a curious growing movement consisting mostly of Foreigners looking to encourage unification between Vilita and Turori. While the two nations already share a single Economy, international fears of the potential power of a multiverse overseen by an Evil Sultan Eel named Nigel - however unfounded, have resulted in factions looking to spread their influence into a re-unification campaign that seeks to overthrow the mythical power of Nigel the Eel and cede governance of mainland Turori back to the Leazi Corada and the Tropics of Vilita.

About Legalese

Legalese is a gargantuan, cultured nation in the hallowed Northeast of Atlantian Oceania. It consists of two landmasses - the continential mainland and the adjoining Karin Islands - and is located on the eastern side of the Calanian continent, between Lake Bekk on the west, Audioslavia to the east, Starblaydia to the north, and New West Guiana to the south. It’s been roughly 30 years since Legalese’s quarterfinal appearance in World Cup 70, and the dormant national team has some mothballs to dust off. Will this be the start of something special, or just a minor footnote in the history of the Legalite nation?
