Banijan Lacrosse League Season 8

Final Regular Season Standings
Top two in each conference clinch playoff berths and berths in Champions Cup appearances

National Conference Pld W L GF GA GD
1 Bunyoro RSC 14 12 2 188 106 +82 - National Conference champions, Playoff Berth, IDLO Qualification
2 Busukuma Flyers 14 11 3 193 135 +58 - National Conference Runners-Up, Playoff Berth, IDLO Qualfication

3 Jinja City Weasals 14 9 5 174 156 +18
4 Umbazi Metropolitan SC 14 9 5 153 140 +13
5 Kitara Athletic Association 14 6 8 148 153 −5
6 Luguyala Patriots 14 4 10 141 190 −49
7 Mynda Knights 14 3 11 91 167 −76
8 Hoima Gators 14 2 12 135 176 −41

Bunyoro RSC is always an interesting team to talk about. When the Olympic Committee of Banija created a national league, they naturally assumed that the powerhouse of the league would be in the Moravica Conference. And that's not unreasonable- the heartland of Banijan lacrosse is in, and has always been in, the Moravica Region. But Bunyoro RSC has shown itself as the class of the league, and as one of the most dominant teams in the sport.

They re-told everybody what they already knew when they won their 6th consecutive conference title, and seventh in the 8 seasons that the BLL has been in existence. They are the most consistent team in BLL history. They've never missed the playoffs. They've won the IDLO Champions Cup twice. They've been to the BLL championship game each of the past six seasons. They won four in a row. They lost the last two, but this year, they'll work to get back to that game and win it. They lost the BLL championship game last season, and entering this season, they lost the IDLO Champions Cup Final. Are trophies in their sights?

Moravica Conference Pld W L GF GA GD
1 Herzegovina City Kings 14 11 3 200 123 +77 - Moravica Conference champions, Playoff Berth, IDLO Qualification
2 Istria Thunder 14 11 3 155 98 +57 - Moravica Conference Runners-Up, Playoff Berth, IDLO Qualfication

3 Vidizi Bulls 14 10 4 163 122 +41
4 West Istria White Wings 14 7 7 136 122 +14
5 Hamilton Jackals 14 6 8 143 133 +10
6 Iziarad Wildcats 14 6 8 133 141 −8
7 Taramazna Hawks 14 3 11 88 176 −88
8 Kosactus Hammerheads 14 2 12 87 190 −103

And now, for the other conference. The Kings, arguably, have been the most consistent team in the Moravica Conference. It was embarrassing for the conference last season, as no Moravica teams even made the final. Fortunately, the conference champions are Moravica's most consistent teams. Bunyoro RSC has 4 league titles. The Jinja City Weasels have one, and the Herzegovina City Kings has a pair of their own. The BLL is indeed top heavy, and Bunyoro RSC and Herzegovina City Kings lord over it all.

The Istria Thunder are right behind them, however. Which makes sense. There's a second team in Istria, the West Istria White Wings, but they need a bit more talent if they want to challenge and make a run. The Bulls were a game back- close, but no cigar.

Playoff Matchups(Best of 3)
Bunyoro RSC v. Istria Thunder
Herzegovina City Kings v. Busukuma Flyers

Semifinal #1
Game 1: Bunyoro RSC 16–10 Istria Thunder
Game 2: Istria Thunder 4–19 Bunyoro RSC

Bunyoro RSC wins series 2-0

This series showed why Bunyoro RSC is considered Banija's biggest team in lacrosse. THe Thunder are a good squad. They had, by far, the strongest defense in the league. Only 98 goals allowed across 14 games! That's 24 less than the next best defense. It's hard to score on these guys, only allowing seven goals a game. And yet, Bunyoro RSC absolutely lit them up. A combined 35 goals across two games, one home, one away, to show the Thunder exactly who is boss. A ludicrous 7th straight BLL Championship Game appearance for Bunyoro, and after this performance- especially picking up a 19-4 elimination victory on the road- they have to be the favorites in Herzegovina City.

Semifinal #2
Game 1: Herzegovina City Kings 4–5 Busukuma Flyers
Game 2: Busukuma Flyers 5–5 Herzegovina City Kings (6–7 OT)
Game 3: Herzegovina City Kings 21–9 Busukuma Flyers

Herzegovina City Kings win series 2-1

And now, for Herzegovina City v. Busukuma. Busukuma picked up an upset victory in Herzegovina City. They put the Moravica Region on the brink of not having any representatives in the BLL Championship Game for two seasons in a row. What a disaster that would have been! But the Kings came back and fought hard. A loud crowd in the Banijan capitol greeted the Kings, and the Flyers did their best to qualify for the championship game. It was hard-hitting and low-scoring. BUt a late equalizer by the Kings forced overtime, and they were able to grind their way to a 7-6 win in overtime to force a Game 3.

The Flyers were entirely broken by losing that way on their home field, in an elimination game, and never recovered. 21-9 blowout, and it would be the Kings that would play at Kizza I Field.

BLL Championship Game
Played at Kizza I Field in Herzegovina City, Moravica
Bunyoro RSC 3–4 Herzegovina City Kings

Bunyoro v. the Kings. Bunyoro RSC once won four of these in a row, althoug they've lost the last two? They wanted to prevent themselves from losing three Championship games in a row. Meanwhile, the Kings wanted their third title. It would be the Kings who would be crowned. A terribly low scoring game in the Kings own city, as it showed the elite players littered throughout both defenses and midfields. But the KIngs were able to score twice in the third quarter, to take a 4-1 lead into the fourth. And the three goal deficit was too much to overcome. Bunyoro RSC tried to storm back, but they could not get the final goal. The Kings players rushed the field. And that was it- the Kings were champions of Banija.

Bunyoro RSC and Herzegovina City will both enter the IDLO Champions Cup with heavy ambitions for a trophy. Can either of them bring it home? Or will it be the Flyers or Thunder surprising everyone for a big-time run at lacrosse's biggest club championship?

After a rough year for Lacrosse in Kriegiersien, corrupt representatives decided that just the 4 best teams of the last competition would play a short Super Cup in Schoenwetter to figure out the Champion and rankings for the next IDLO Champions Cup.
The conditions were chaotic and the winners a surprise.

2030-31 Lacrosse League of Abanhfleft

Postby Abanhfleft » Wed Apr 21, 2021 8:51 am

For the third season in a row, the Lacrosse League has kept its new 16-game regular season format. And that is perhaps the biggest news ever to come out of the LLA preseason in recent years. With nothing much else to talk about during the build-up, why not just jump straight into the regular season and see who dominates the east and who rules the west? Here are the results of the 2030-31 Lacrosse League of Abanhfleft.

2030-31 Lacrosse League of Abanhfleft Regular Season Final Standings
WESTERN DIVISION Pld W L GF GA GD
1 Mykorrigan Flyers 16 11 5 189 136 +53 Division winner, Bye to Division finals
2 Haranguer Vipers 16 10 6 177 147 +30 Qualified for playoffs
3 Ogovlich Orioles [x] 16 8 8 173 172 +1 Qualified for playoffs

4 Marble Arch Bandidos 16 8 8 149 159 −10
5 Markovsky Tsars 16 6 10 146 215 −69
6 Piuui Rockets 16 5 11 145 160 −15

[x] Ogovlich ahead of Marble Arch on head-to-head goals for (OGO 11-10 MRB, MRB 10-9 OGO)

EASTERN DIVISION Pld W L GF GA GD
1 Releinthi Liberty 16 13 3 203 154 +49 Division winner, Bye to Division finals
2 Suwkpel Rush 16 12 4 173 128 +45 Qualified for playoffs
3 Riuwiee Nighthawks 16 9 7 183 146 +37 Qualified for playoffs

4 Olistan Polaris 16 7 9 144 152 −8
5 Calfragilis Marshals 16 6 10 154 173 −19
6 Jasvirabad Jays 16 1 15 114 208 −94

The Mykorrigan Flyers are top dog in the Western Division once again, although their run to the top was not as dominant as it was last season. Perhaps the biggest surprise in the Western Division is the fact that the Markovsky Tsars appear to be completely nowhere in terms of challenging for the playoffs. The Tsars simply have not been their usual selves this season, and this has allowed at least two teams in the Western Division to take advantage of that particular fact. Like, literally. The Haranguer Vipers literally swapped positions with Markovsky so the fifth-placed team in the LLA Western Division last season is now the second-placed team and vice versa. Haranguer may have also been helped by the fact that a new crop of young players have finally come good for the Vipers, namely Kianna Kirby and Makaila Neilsen. Those two are ones to watch, surely. Places in the national lacrosse team might not be completely out of the question for at least one but more likely both of them.

Meanwhile, the Releinthi Liberty have kicked off their title defense in spectacular fashion, all the while trying to hold off a Suwkpel Rush side wanting to reestablish their dominance over the Eastern Division. The team from Berkner Bay truly pushed the team from the largest city in Abanhfleft all the way to the end, but in the end it was the Liberty who emerged triumphant, but only by the narrowest of margins. The shock trade of Aoibhe McCailín to Releinthi from Markovsky for Selina Keller and Rosalinda Martins to add to the Liberty's formidable roster may have played a part in Releinthi maintaining their grip on the top spot in the Eastern Division. One team though that will certainly not make an impact in the league in the foreseeable future though is the Jasvirabad Jays, who somehow managed to go even lower than they did last season, winning just one game the whole regular season. To think that some people actually thought that a 2-14 record would be Jasvirabad's absolute lowest point in their (admittedly short) history... Surely this time the Jays can't go even lower than this. That being said, a 0-16 season still remains a distinct possibility despite the general trend of the LLA becoming increasingly competitive as the seasons go on.
Image
Eastern Division Qualifier
Suwkpel Rush 10–11 Riuwiee Nighthawks

Well, clearly the Nighthawks have had enough of Suwkpel's recent domination of the LLA. It helps the capital club's cause though that the Rush have been out of sorts ever since Armando Lachance retired. Harvey Belick is doing his best, his utmost best, to be a proper successor to Mr. Lachance, but one of those things involves being clutch, and in the Eastern Division Qualifier against Riuwiee, Belick was anything but clutch. For the first time since they entered the LLA, the Suwkpel Rush will not be playing in a Division Final, and all throughout the country lacrosse purists are celebrating. The fact that the Eastern Division Final will be a Capital Islands derby also helps matters.

Western Division Qualifier
Haranguer Vipers 9–16 Ogovlich Orioles

Ogovlich don't always make it into the LLA Playoffs, but when they do, they only have one goal in mind: win the Luzviminda Lozima Trophy. And they got off to a good start by beating the Haranguer Vipers by a handy seven-goal margin. Valentyna Kohut got the ball rolling for the Orioles, as she always does, but then Haranguer thought they saw an opportunity open up for them when Kohut had to limp off just before the start of the third quarter. Enter Rut Juanals. An actual freaking Olympian, even though she had nothing more than a handful of substitute appearances for the APOC Coalition during the 13th Summer Olympics in a demonstration event. When Juanals first joined the Orioles fresh from the University of Santa Magdalena, she was earmarked as being one of the top 10 lacrosse stars of the future alongside the likes of Liana McLaughlin and Darcy Garza. She was never able to reach the heights that those two reached for various reasons, but now it appears that Juanals has finally grown into herself and looks ready to take on a starring role for Ogovlich as they make their latest push for the LLA title.

Eastern Division Final
Releinthi Liberty 11–10 Riuwiee Nighthawks

The stakes are always going to be high when teams from Releinthi and Riuwiee are up against each other. It doesn't matter which sport it is or whether there's a championship at stake or not; the Capital Islands derby transcends all. And the LLA is no exception. For Releinthi, this is their chance to possibly establish a dynasty of their own, or at the very least get a cheeky second title while the likes of Markovsky and Suwkpel are still reeling. For the Nighthawks, it's a chance to throw their neighbors off of their high horse and show why Riuwiee is the capital of Abanhfleft. And as a game, it didn't disappoint. Neither side backed down from the other's challenges, and neither side were truly dominant across a significant stretch of time. Audria Knicely showed in this game just why she was chosen as this season's Most Valuable Player as she demonstrated the qualities of a captain and leader, making sure every single Liberty player on the field was in a position that would benefit the team the most. That being said, it still took Chantal Crays' last-gasp goal at the end of the fourth quarter before Releinthi could tell Riuwiee to get lost and try again next season.

Western Division Final
Mykorrigan Flyers 15–16 Ogovlich Orioles

The Flyers of Mykorrigan are on the quest for their first LLA championship since 2026, and with the Markovsky Tsars out of the picture their quest just got that little bit easier. However, there was one team that they didn't count on potentially spoiling their own party, and that team is the Ogovlich Orioles, the very same team that took the Tsars out of the playoffs. Since they were the ones who took out the Tsars in the first place, Ogovlich knows that this could be their one and only shot at potentially winning the title, and they will be damned if they didn't take it. If such a thing could even be possible, this match was more intense than the Eastern Division Final between the Capital Islands rivals. If the Western Division Qualifier was the game that Rut Juanals returned her name to relevance, then this game was the one where she showed that she was indeed one of Abanhfleft's future stars. Juanals' performance in this game is already drawing comparisons with the likes of Fatima Alsambis with the way she simply turned into the focal point of attack for the Orioles without any sort of prompting or orders from the staff. Everything that the Orioles just started flowing through to Juanals, and that three-goal burst from her with three minutes to go proved to the be the difference between Ogovlich and Mykorrigan.
2031 Lacrosse League of Abanhfleft Final
Releinthi Liberty 18–5 Ogovlich Orioles

Maybe Rut Juanals is not yet on the level of Fatima Alsambis just yet. But you know what they say about adversity and all that, and it is Rut's reaction to losing the LLA Final, and in such dominated manner as well, that is going to determine her future in lacrosse. But the simple truth of the matter is that Releinthi put Ogovlich on the back foot almost immediately and never let up on the pressure even though they already had an eight-point lead come the end of the second quarter. Chantal Crays gets all the applause and the LLA Final MVP award, but an argument could be made for her teammate and regular season MVP Audria Knicely, who continues her "field marshal" air by getting everyone in the team to be where they needed to be. Crays was, simply put, in the right place at the right time. Then again she still needs to actually score, and that's exactly what she did. Six times, in fact. In any case, the Luzviminda Lozima Trophy stays in Releinthi, and they book a trip to the IDLO for a second year running. Well, well, well. Maybe a new dynasty is indeed afoot in the Lacrosse League of Abanhfleft after all.

Since we have a bunch of submissions above, and the person I passed this competition along to has long CTE'd, I'm going to re-take possession of the IDLO and pick up where it left off.

The above submissions, of course, will all be accepted. I will set a deadline of 11:59 PM EST on November 8th, 2021 for IDLO submissions.

Pre-Internationalization lacrosse in Cordia was a solid third-place sport, behind the two most popular, football and hockey. But after a Round of 16 finish in Cordia’s first-ever international tournament, the World Lacrosse Championships, lacrosse has taken off, with the Cordia Lacrosse League seeing stadiums filled to the brim, while youth team signups have nearly doubled in the past year, signaling a bright future for lacrosse here. The CLL, Cordia’s premier lacrosse league, is planning on expansion by adding the top amateur teams to two lower divisions, as has been done in the CIFA and is being planned for the CIHL, though that is to happen in the next season and relegation was not in place for this one.

The CLL is best-known for having its best teams in areas not commonly known as sports cities – Valley Fold, Skalton, Eriksson, and Westwall being among the more skilled teams in the league, while traditional powerhouses in most sports, Jutland, Cordasfjord and Brenville all hosting some of the league’s worse teams. It’s not a money problem either; Jutland and Cordasfjord are moneymaking teams. It’s that there are few players willing to sign for a team with a lot of money and little success.

Danvirk was expected to be one of the best in the league, without a doubt. They boasted the Rue twins, the dynamic duo who propelled Cordia past close games, especially against Tropicorp, in the WLC Group Stage, as well as some of the best available non-NT players in the league, making for an overall rock-solid team. But nobody expected the way in which they simply handed it to their opponents. Thirty-one wins in thirty-eight games, with only four losses. Those are some incredible numbers in a game like lacrosse that can go either way at any time. Valley Fold failed again – this time, they failed to disappoint like so many Valley teams have a habit of doing. Though they couldn’t quite reach Danvirk’s numbers, their solid, balanced attack got them into second place.

Thor’s Rest is one of the bigger surprises here, at least if you only read the news and never looked at the scores. When they lost, they were blown out, and if they won it usually went uncovered. For a team with 14 more wins than losses, it’s really not a good luck to go into IDLO competition with just 34 more goals scored than allowed. Most would argue that the Cyclones don’t really deserve it; so they come in to the IDLO with a lot to prove to themselves and the world.

On the final matchday, it could not have gotten any more interesting. Skalton and Westwall at 47 points, Peak at 48, and the last IDLO spot on the line. Peak and Westwall lost their games; had either won, they would have qualified with the tiebreaker over Skalton. But Skalton, playing a surging Lakeshore team which would have won the title if only the last 13 games counted, played hard to the end, taking an 11-8 win and qualifying for international competition.

Of note is Peak LC. Located in a small town north of Cordasfjord, this team is not the one you would expect in the top 5. But they were. Why? Well, the nation’s leading lacrosse academy, Edfield Prep, is located there. A full quarter of Cordia’s WLC roster graduated from Edfield, which should provide some idea of the amount of talent coursing through that academy at any given time. Peak LC usually gets the first look at these new players, and consequently have one of the most skilled teams in the league, with the bonus of many of their players having been on a team together for years.

Westwall Snipers had perhaps the CLL’s biggest heartbreaker. With their final match coming against Brenville, it looked like they had the win, going into halftime with a 7-2 lead and no sign of letting up. What followed was the biggest implosion, on the biggest stage, of any CLL team this season. Brenville scored seven goals and allowed none in the third quarter, and then another five in the fourth, allowing one, for a final score of 14-8 that left Snipers fans in a state of absolute shock. Westwall’s manager has not been fired despite understandable cries of outrage from the fans, though another rough season, or even so much as a bad start, could sink his career for good.

Next season’s expansion, according to the guidelines set by the league administration, will add two leagues – Second Division and Third Division – to the CLL. These will each comprise 20 teams, with four being promoted and relegated each season. Polls show that many Cordians are excited to see a Jutland team drop to a second division. One interesting development is the addition of a Cordia Cup of Lacrosse to the season. With 60 teams, the top eighteen teams from First Division will qualify for the Round of 32. The bottom two teams and the top twelve Second Division teams will enter in Final Qualifying, and the remainder will enter in First Qualifying. Like the CIFA, the Cordia Cup champion will take Cordia’s bottom seed for IDLO competition, meaning even the lowest-ranked team has a shot, at least in theory, at making the IDLO.

The above submissions, of course, will all be accepted. I will set a deadline of 11:59 PM EST on November 8th, 2021 for IDLO submissions.

Let me re-bump this post.

It's been a fairly long time since the days of a Qad lacrosse league, the last known trace of one pre-existing the integration of Islana Lunigo into Damukuni. Or was that cricket? Yeah, I think it was cricket. Anyhow, you get the picture, domestics in the principality aren't exactly all that common; the only ones still remotely successful and kicking being in basketball and ice hockey. Yet, despite the days of once passionate athletic triumph fading further into the minds of our oldest street cats, it's important to note that a hunger for entertainment is still out there, one that eventually wound up catching the attention of the Qasden Lacrosse Association.

The QLA, in all its undead glory, has made a big enough name for itself by being literally the only Qad association to win the top contest in its sport, paired exquisitely with a bronze finish at the somewhat recent AOLC in Banija. It's straw-graspings like this that make the sports industry of our nation yearn for some for of interest again, and with the latest edition of the LH&EOT over, it seems like a more opportune time than ever to impose another kind of entertainment marshal law. Thus, we bring you the inaugural season of the River's End Championship.

For 18 games, 7 newly formed teams and 3 existing ones you never heard of are ready to duke it out in a no-holds-barred serenade of athletic brutality. Will the strange folks at Eastern Athletic be able to revive a sports club that perennially finishes at the bottom in basketball? Could the new, multi-million dollar, T.V. City-based Qasmadoria defy all odds and take the first title? Should lacrosse see face in the lives of Qad citizens beyond that instance in WLC 27? I don't know how much of a dang darn duck I should care, but if handsome contracts have taught me anything, it's to nut up and shut up for the first ever Qasden domestic lacrosse competition!

Season 1 Champions
Qasmadoria

That was...completely unintentional foreshadowing. The top spot in the house was embroiled in a season-long quarrel between old and new, as Eastern Athletic kept themselves above the glitzy Qasmadoria right before facing (and losing to) them in Game 16. While the club would make a comeback in the semi-finals by extinguishing an upset-yearning Burning Fyre, it ultimately led to a resounding failure in the finals, with the dominant Qasmadoria taking the first title in league history. Welcome to the Championship, everyone.
