I'll never get in the top 5 doing this, and my schedule of trucking will demolish my hopes to RP consistently, buy why not.

The Arroza Admirals sign up.

I know I have 0 points, but I can't be BOI eligible, right? I mean I've hosted a BOI.

Edit: jeez, and a World Bowl. That was many, many moons ago.

Kytlerian bid for the Baptism of Iron

OOC elements

FORMAT: The optimal format will be four evenly-sized groups, in which each team play each other once with the top two from each progressing to a single-elimination knockout. Teams from groups A and B would be drawn against each other in the quarter-finals, and likewise teams from C and D. This works best with 24 teams, though 20 also works.

A possible alternative with 18 teams (unless two "cannon-fodder" puppets are created to set up a 20-team tournament) would be three six-team groups, with the top two in each progressing to the knockout phases, and the two teams with the best overall record receiving byes to the semi-finals. In this instance, knockout seeding would work identically to the AFC/NFC conference playoffs, as the format is identical (six teams with the top two receiving first-round byes).

SCORINATION: NSFS 3.01 will be used.

RP BONUS: A degrading bonus will be utilised, as it ensures the maximum level of RP bonus can be reached more quickly than under an accumulative (non-degrading) bonus. RP bonus will be rated on a 1-10 scale, based primarily on creativity and other subjective judgment. Unusual approaches such as audio RP will be rewarded; generic match reports, less so. The bonus will be halved after one matchday, halved again after a second, and removed after a third, so (for instance) for MD4, the RP bonus will be the full value for MD3, half the value for MD2, and one-quarter the value for MD1.

The maximum bonus level is 18.75 (10 + (10/2) + (10/4)), and as the BoI starts on a level playing field and is intended to reward RPing as much as Margaret can allow, 18.75 will be the "Max Rank Points" value in NSFS.

TIMING: The BoI thread would be created on Friday, November 4, with the draw taking place live on #nssport at 1705 GMT [1305 ET, 1005 PT] the next day, and scorination taking place daily from Monday. This would provide teams with a weekend to complete their rosters and produce other pre-tournament RP. Matchday 1 RP bonuses will be assessed on all pre-tournament RPing, including rosters. Edited to remove reference to an expected off-day on November 12, which is now very unlikely to be necessary.

RP cutoffs would fall at approximately 2200 GMT [1700 ET, 1400 PT], at which point RP bonus would be assessed and NSFS updated with the new team "ranking". Edited to reflect that Daylight Saving Time ends in the US on November 6, and not November 13 as I thought. The UK equivalent ends on October 30.

HOST EXPERIENCE: The Kytler Peninsulae is the new nation of an old user. As Kaze Progressa and Kura-Pelland, this user co-hosted six World Cups, invented the Baptism of Fire competition that begat the Baptism of Iron, was lead devisor of the KPB ranking system that is now entering its 46th World Cup cycle with only minor amendments, and retained extensive involvement in RPing other sports, including gridiron (Kura-Pelland once reaching a World Bowl final).

IC elements

STADIA: Each group will be based in three stadia within the same geographical region of the country, all games being played at the same time (ICly as well as OOCly) and as such all being in different stadia. As such, there will be a significant number of stadia used, all of which will have images provided.

THE NATION: The Kytler Peninsulae is a small nation in eastern Rushmore, consisting (as the name rather suggests) of two narrow peninsulae and a narrow strip of land connecting them. With a modest population of under 10m, stadia are comparatively small (only one stadium has a capacity significantly above 40,000), but temporary stands will be added to some of the smaller venues to ensure more fans can appreciate the atmosphere. Additionally, "fan zones" will be created in public squares in all host towns and cities, increasing the number of travelling supporters beyond that possible from stadium capacity alone.

The country's long coastline is home to many coastal resorts, some of which will be hosting BoI games; as such, there is extensive and relatively affordable accommodation available for fans in locally-owned guest houses, as well as chain hotels.

CAFE Presents

CAFE= Cassadagan Association for Football Excellence

A HOSTING BID FOR WORLD BOWL 16

"Its a Sweet Sixteen Party in the Matriarchy!"

"Good morning everyone, my name is Lauren Hamilton and I am the President of CAFE. However I hope that many of you recognize me as the quarterback of the Dagans in our earlier years, including our World Bowl 8 Championship team. It is my pleasure to announce Cassadaigua's bid to bring the 16th version of the World Bowl to the football playing world. In some nations, this sport is known by other names but if you are listening to this bid, you surely know what sport is being discussed!"

"First, let me get to the FORMAT in which we propose: We will offer a double round robin, so that each team has a game against each group opponent at home and on the road. We will strive to make all groups even, and will make that happen, whether we have to cut off satellite nations (puppets), or put in a closing pitch for an additional entry or two. Playoffs will be determined by the amount of signups, but it will be in a traditional single-elimination knockout format. Playoff games will be in Cassadaigua.

As for those groups, when it comes to determining TIEBREAKERS: we will first use H2H results, and then H2H point differential, before moving to overall point differential. I know some of you may not like H2H results as the first tiebreaker, but in Cassadaigua we feel that is the most fair way to break a tie, even if it is not the simplest way."

"Within our SCORINATION offices, scorekeepers will utilize NSFS 3.0.1 as the means of maintaining records. However they will not use the modification system (style modifiers), since those don't appear to function correctly. They will use a complimentary RP BONUS program to judge national media outlets. It will be a cumulative and non-degrading score, from day to day. These scorekeepers enjoy creativity and originality, but most of all want to see an overall knowledge of the competition. They tend to like seeing an awareness of what other media outlets may be saying as well."

"Finally, CAFE reminds the world of the EXPERIENCE that Cassadagan Sporting agencies have accumulated so far. This would be co-hosting World Cup 54, and hosting World Baseball Classic 18 and World Lacrosse Championships 7. These agencies work hard and have had a good track record so far. They hope to continue that if given the opportunity."

"So, are there any questions?"

Thank you, while the modification system for xkoranate is proven to work, and it is does not for NSFS, that NSFS has shown itself to be a very reliable scorinator for this sport. Xkoranate is very reliable as well, but ultimately our scorekeepers have to use the system that they are most comfortable working with, and that is NSFS. The tournament will still be in good hands with this method.
