As some of you may have already seen on the WBC52 RP Thread, Super-Llamaland and I have created a new, multiversal baseball league, the LPB (Llamaphant Pro Baseball). This new league will be extensively roleplayed in the future, with one season during every WBC, and one season during every IBS. (In other words, the next one will happen during IBS15) (If you want to get a taste of what that may look like; here's a complilation of my RPs from WBC52, continued here - now imagine that, but better and with more Super-Llamaland.) If you have some players you'd like to see in the LPB, this is easily possible, regardless of whether you regularly roleplay baseball or not. Simply telegram or message us on discord! We're hoping to see some new faces in our league soon!

Hey guys, apologies for my complete absence from the WBC this cycle. In the past month I've been on holiday, moved house, applied for and got a new job, and had to self-isolate cause of covid so I hope you can see I have good reasons for my absence xD.

I'm not sure when the WBC will be next cycle, but pre-WBC I'm going to evaluate whether I have the time to do WBC (I want to, but not sure yet). I don't want to continue to do no-RP in the competition. So no promises that I'll stick around with Ethane (or new nation), but I hope I can stick around in the WBC. :)

Many thanks to Tumbra for third party-hosting a lot of Series, to Mrriin and Nephara for helping out, and to South Newlandia for helping out and pointing out the formula error while also providing templates for the tables.

Thank you for allowing me to solo host. It was a challenge but worthwhile.

See you in the next one!

Congrats to Chrom for a very deserved first title, and thank you a lot for hosting. Hosting this way, alone, is far from easy, and you did it, managing the problems that came up well. Good job.

So WBC Council, it's time to vote:
1) For each of Xanneria, Barnettsville, Delaclava, Abanhfleft, and South Americanastan vote FOR, AGAINST, or ABSTAIN on whether you think they should be admitted into the Council.

Please send these votes in by 8pm EDT on Friday, October 8th, to this nation, World Baseball Classic. Thank you!

I've thought about this for a while.

Is there any sort of history of international domestic baseball competitions on the subforums?

Would anyone be interested in participated if we started one up/kicked one off? Some sort of baseball champions league?

As one of the organisers of what I would argue to be the biggest (and best) baseball league on here (Llamaphant Pro Baseball), no. The only reason why Llama and me are able to pour as much time into LPB as we do (and I know you guys havent seen anything yet, but you will soon) is because it doubles as IBS/WBC RP Bonus. That would no longer be possible if we had a baseball champions league. If there would be one, I would not be entering it.

Sure, I'd be in. There's a history of the BCCC and various other attempts:

2012-2014: BCCC
2015: BCC <- this thread had posts as late as 2020 in it, but the last BCC was from 2015.

Okay so, just a general question about WBC 53, am I allowed to use a puppet to operate a hosting bid that acts as a private corporation on the behalf of my country, or does the hosting bid have to come from the main country itself? I have a desire to put in a hosting bid but am unsure whether to do it through Caleon or the Caleon Professional Baseball account of mine.

Hello there, Caleonia!
Generally, we bid for events from our main nations, however, your bid can still be supported IC-ly (in-character) by corporations. One example for this would be the most recent bid, by Chromatika, which was supported by the Regional Transit Corporation of Banija.
If you're planning to bid for WBC53, I would highly recommend reading some of the previous bids, linked in the signup thread, and the Guide to Sports Roleplaying if you haven't already; the guide has a very useful hosting guide. The World Baseball Classic is a very difficult event to host for a first-time host, but that doesn't mean it's impossible to win a bid. If you want to help the odds, you could attempt to co-bid with another, more experienced nation. If you have any more questions, feel free to ask them here or send me a telegram. I hope you enjoy your time here!

Thank you for the response. I have been working with scorinators and seem to grasp Baseinator well. I might throw in a hosting bid soon, when I have time on my PC and my internet isn’t actively imploding. Just wish there was a scorinator with interleague play (like the MLB and NPB) and dynamic schedule generation for my own league instead of having to make a crap ton of round robin series to simulate a season… but right now that doesn’t matter, I’ll see what I can do.
