Oh, I didn't know that. I think I copied from some generator website, but it seems they've given me the real names. I'll give the names a change.

Leaving aside how unlikely it is "some generator website" would give you a non-random list of names, you have basically shown zero effort to edit that list. It is still, for all intents and purposes, a list of real-life players. NS Sport is not RL, and real-life players (companies, teams, etc etc) are strongly frowned upon.

I'd do a bit more than just "changing a few names and mixing here and that", if I were you.

I am not in the tournament. But I saw the post and the comment. Quick google reveals these are all real people, the names are all the same word for word.

Considering that people definitely invest their time and effort into their own RPs, plagarising something word for word is not something that is welcomed here. Not just in here. It is the same in every RP community. Making your country based on an RL country is one thing. But this seems like a wholesale, low effort job being done here. And not just this. I saw that you made an entry into a Junior World Hit Festival, with the singer names of your song also being real life persons. For East Asian names (Chinese, Korean, Japanese), I definitely know how hard it is to find people with exactly the same name as a popular guy in the same genre.

Also, your history doesn't look great either. Everyone can clearly look at this and this and know what is going on.

Plagiarism is extremely frowned upon here, whether it's using RL names of players or using RL creative art without attribution.

A player once had one of his characters write a poem in a tournament I was hosting. I Googled it out of curiosity and found an NFL player wrote the same poem word for word. I reset that player's RP bonus to zero.

We take that VERY seriously here.

You know, I can change the names to fictional ones in the Baseball thread, but my entry in Junior World Hit Festival(Although not sure how relevant this is to this Baseball thread) is completely fictional. I mentioned the original singer group, because it asked me for them. I never said they were the ones participating.

Also, it doesn't matter if I represent my roleplaying nation as one having the same territory as a real nation, because everything else besides the territory of my nation is not real, however similar it may be. It's extremely difficult nor obligatory for one to make a new nation, completely as of land, name, etc. For all you know, you can make a fictional nation and get called out for, if the fictional nation happens to have the same name as a real one or have similar cultures.

Well, it's a disappointment how a "generator website" came up with real names, but I did not plan to let out real-life names to engage in this roleplay, and I greatly apologize for that. I should've used a better name generator, but this is my first season playing baseball as a roleplay, and I could not find a good enough website for that. I will change up the names to make them fictional, but I hope you understand the phase in which I'm getting used to this place.

Sorry about that.

Lots of people have nations that reference real places or cultures, while still creating original characters to populate them. Having Korean influences is fine. Copy-pasting your roster is the problem.

Yes, I apologize in NS Sports discord about the copying issue. I told them it won't happen again, and they forgave me.

I propose the following changes to Article IX of the WBC Constitution:

Section 2: There are three ways to reach the Hall of Fame. The first is to reach 15 points through a scale that awards points based on how well a nation did in previous World Baseball Classics. Nations that achieve 15 points are automatically inducted. The following scale gives the number of points scored per result in previous World Baseball Classics:
6 points per championship
4 points for a runner-up
2 points for third place
1 point for fourth place
3 points for hosting
4 points for WBC President (Full cycle; 3 WBCs)
2 points for partial presidency (Less than a full cycle)

Section 3: The second way to reach the Hall of Fame is to have participated in ten World Baseball Classics (this applies to users, and not specifically nations). However, the entrance may not take place if the nation in question has less than 15 points.

Section 4: Section 4 would be repealed due to being moot.

Section 5: The third way for a nation to be elected into the Hall of Fame is by nomination. A World Baseball Classic council member or any nation who participated in WBC 1-20 may nominate any nation that has more than 10 points and less than 20 points significantly and materially contributed to the WBC community to be potentially voted into the Hall of Fame. After receiving nomination, the entire council will vote on whether or not the nation should be elected into the Hall of Fame, and if the nation receives 50%+1 of the votes of the council, then that nation is inducted into the Hall of Fame. There is no requirement regarding the number of seasons participated in for a nation to be nominated in this way.

I mean this as friendly advice, not a personal attack on anyone -- but if something comes up on the forum, it should be addressed on the forum. Not everyone uses the NSS Discord.

The question about your roster is closed.

The question of whether the people on Discord speak for the whole community is a broader issue that has been going on for years, and people need to be reminded periodically that the forum is larger and more diverse than the group that hang out on the NSS Discord. Just because someone on Discord says something does not mean it is the final word and they speak for the whole forum. This type of broader long-term issue is not something that you can just declare "closed" and expect that to settle it. Especially not you as a newcomer.

As a new player, you might not know all of this, but that is exactly why you need to tread more carefully and be less defensive. You need to learn how to take people's feedback on board without shutting them down in the same breath.

It's not too late for you to become a positive force in the community, but you are not starting off on the right foot.

Yeah, I didn't take peoples' feedback much, so I apologize. I am aware I'm not a positive force, but I need to get used to this system of sports RP.
As for Discord, I thought those who administer this system were there. You know it's a mistake as a newcomer to address people on Discord with sincere thoughts.

I've taken feedback from people here, based on their NS forum posts, so I was able to edit my roster.

If you have any more concerns, you can telegram me or speak to me on Discord in private. Thanks.

The main point is that I don't think the Hall of Fame should be a popularity contest, and voting on inducting players all too often is.
