National Assembly - English Public Dispatch
From: Office of the Premier, Greater Montréal Region, New Québec.
Sent: March 12, xxxx.
To: Addressed to the public.Warmest regards, our friends of the international firearms community.
Since it's introduction to North American police and military markets, police organisations across Quebec from province-hood through the New State have always relied on the utilitarian charm of the Glock 9mm to keep the streets clean and the cities safe. Now, the Sûreté du Québec (State Police of Quebec) are looking to emerge into modern times with a new, replacement service pistol to hand on the belts of both military and police organisations across the country.
Our organisations loved the 9x19 calibre so much so, that when coming to terms with service rifles, we adopted the classic H&K MP5 for it's reliability, utilitarian charm, and ultimate comfort. These firearms serviced Quebec from sea to sea, city to city, from battlefield through battlefield.
As we enter the modern years, however, our police and military organisations are complacent when we state that we recognise the need for evolution. As such, the Firearms Commission of the State of Quebec have been tasked with approaching the international firearms and weapons manufacturing communities with a specific commission to replace the so called "perfection of the wonder-nines".
Finally, Quebec is also looking to adopt a designated battle rifle, for real fanatical combat roles. As of yet, Quebecois organisations have been wholly reliant on the H&K for their G3 design when unquestionable firepower was needed, and we're looking for a new outside ranker to clinch this role.
The reward for the selected designs will be a contract order of 1 million units, with a starting price of QL$300 per pistol unit, QL$1,500 per submachine-gun unit, and QL$4,000 per rifle unit (QL$ / Quebec Livres). The firearms in question will be adopted as the National Service Weapons of Quebec, and will be sold statewide to local police, military, and civilian populations. Designers can submit designs for any of the requests, and are not obligated to submit designs for all three commissions.
We wish all talented firearms designers luck in this modern endeavour.
