Why is this forum so inactive?

hey I have a question: if I wanted to make a topic where I had stadiums for my nation's major sports teams seeking bids for naming rights what would be the best forum to post something like that in? Here or NS Sports? It'd be something where I am asking other nation's companies to sponsor my stadiums and have them be named after them if they are interested.

I think it could work here in GE&T, but I'd also open up apps to other sponsors, companies wanting to sell food, beverages, etc., and maybe other companies who can offer your stadiums special services.

No, you would not be the only one. There seems to be a disturbing trend of poorly done storefronts on GE&T, of late.

Any suggestions for what I could do differently with my Airline storefront, to drum up business? Things have been darn slow, so I added charter flights\wet leases as a business options since my route axis adjustment (based on 1960s era Aeroflot maps) means I don't necessarily need aircraft with a 2000 km range.

Essentially I am now flying North-South routes instead of West-East.

I am thinking of offer some of my older aircraft for Wet-Lease, and offering my Presidential Jet for VIP charters. Thoughts?

Yes of course. There are innumerable arms companies on ns and several minerals companirs that have dealt in uranium.

Even in RL uranium is fairly widely traded in several forms and taking a look at that certainly won't hurt any storefront you might create.

Does the Global Economics and Trade Forum have a thread for people that are looking to browse for alliances? Like an alliance shopping center of sorts? I didn't see one. If there isn't, should I start one? Or someone more qualified?

There are multiple trade alliances in GE&T but you have to look for them, but there are no alliance shopping centers though. You could start your own but it might be difficult if you are inexperienced. I would be willing to help you so if you are interested you can contact me via telegram.

I am thinking about starting a storefront based around a port, but I'm inexperienced in GE and T and I don't know how exactly licenses or permits to dock or whatevers are purchased anyways in IRL ports.

You can learn from here and airports respectfully. Im not too familiar with the storefront type myself, but existing port threads should be a point of inspiration for you to learn from.

Im not too familiar with tables on NS, so I can't help. I did take a look briefly and couldn't find the issue. Though I know a Mod who's especially a wizard at forum coding so if it gets too bad you can always make a report/request in Moderation to see if they can help. Though im sure someone more familiar with the coding will come along eventually.

Remove any and all linebreaks between cells and rows; they get processed weirdly by the table and wind up going before it.

e.g. if you have:

I want to set up a business that produces musicals. I was wondering if that would be welcome in the trade area. If not where would I put such a thing?

I'm trying to get more active but I've seen TELNOS being a monopoly over telecommunications (such as when TelTik Communications entered the market) is that legal? What can I do to stop it? HELP!!!

Acting Yulia Tymoshenko wrote:I'm trying to get more active but I've seen TELNOS being a monopoly over telecommunications (such as when TelTik Communications entered the market) is that legal? What can I do to stop it? HELP!!!

There's no such thing as a monopoly here, there's only willpower. Take my experiences for example. I created CLI when PMCs pretty much died out (I counted one active storefront and one other storefront that had died, said active storefront was a Mercenary centered one too, so not really a PMC). It took months of work to get people interested in posting there and I still believe I revived the trend of having PMCs/Mercenary storefronts. When I was still active with CLI I pretty much did have the monopoly because I was constantly hunting for business and worked to remain the strongest business - regardless if some of my methods and actions were morally right (IC and OOC). But that didn't stop other PMC/mercenary storefronts from popping up, and after I sorta let the storefront die, new PMC storefronts emerged. PMCs are kinda being left behind again, so maybe I should finish my remodeling of CLI - all I need to do is finish my packages after all...

Though I think Monopolies by definition here are bullshit. Wolf Armaments is a perfect example of that. I created Wolf Armaments at a time when Lyran Arms stayed on the front page daily, Anemos was constantly getting orders, and Halcyon Arms continued to grow - you can't even begin naming the other popular arms storefronts at the time too. People close to me told me I shouldn't bother and I'd be run out of business by Lyran Arms before I made a cent. Well I didn't listen to them and continued to develop Wolf Armaments in a market already crowded with terrifying competitors, pumping out products and gaining experience as I went along. Anyone paying attention knows Wolf Armaments is active, healthy, and still growing; I'd argue it's stronger then some of the examples I've named too 8) . Seriously though, Wolf Armaments is a serious competitor to all those named examples and has grown so big because of the support from customers throughout the years. How did I make Wolf Armaments, a typical arms storefront in a sea of better arms storefronts a success? Determination. I proved my critics wrong by pure determination alone. If you want your storefront to prosper even with similar storefronts out there competing with you, you have to show real determination; you have to strive to improve your storefront constantly, make products you're happy with, and show some entrepreneurship (advertising, taking criticism as resources, and developing your storefront as a living organism). For me it was making products I wanted/needed the best I could (and improving each time I made/updated something), making the storefront simple but appealing in design (the OP and product page for example), and improving in general each time I made product or got feedback. I don't know much about the telecommunications trade here, but if I could force my way into the most crowded category of storefronts out there, you can do the same in that field. Determination and willpower determine how successful you are, not if existing players already have a solid storefront.

So does anybody know of any open, reasonable tech level, FT storefronts? I looked but I could not find any. It seems all FT storefronts generally become inactive pretty quickly.

Yup they are few and far between and die off quickly because there simply isn't the demand for them due to the nature of FT role play.

Since a lot of FT stuff is about world building it gets very difficult to get together with others as tech levels etc can vary hugely unless you use a pre existing setting ( like star trek/wars etc etc). There is also the issue that with said world building comes a tendency to want to make your stuff and have be as detailed or not as you desire.

Do keep in mind, though, that just because a storefront hasn't been posted in a while doesn't mean it's inactive, abandoned or dead. If you find a storefront whose owner is still around, and you reeeeally like its stuff, consider sending the owner a telegram. Even if it's officially 'closed' it might well be possible to work something out. I've closed storefronts before just because I didn't enjoy operating them anymore, but the businesses still exist in-character and would still be open for trade.

So I'm wondering, do most people who make requests for stores to open in their nation & related activities do so to help construct the own world, or is it since they're interested in economic or mercantile roleplay than they are the roleplays in the other subforums?
