RE: Regarding: Reinkalistani S.C.T.O. Commitments to Bashriyyan National Security
Encryption: High
To: Exterior Commissar L. Turnov

Yes indeed I was informed of certain abuses being done by rebels in the FDNL, I was very disturbed to hear reports of this. In fact we may have to have Omandi arrested and replaced with someone else. I recommend a trial in Bashriyya with an S.C.T.O military court for this sort of behavior, perhaps he could be turned over to Sugogan authorities? Either way I want his trial televised.

His Excellency,
President and Sheikh Sadr Al-din Al-Nasheed

Tripoli Airbase

Nashid had just returned to Tripoli via Helicopter to meet with Reinkalistani officials, the chopper landed on the helipad it was a LH-3A "STREKULĂ" light utility helicopter frequently used by Bashriyyan commandos, Nashid stepped out in full uniform guarding him were two Norcadian commandos in full gear, a black Presidential limo pulled up opening the door out came Sadr's wife Allmera who got out holding a suit case of some sort they were going to meet with Lt. Colonel Iosef Yariskavich who was present at the base. Sadr and his wife and two body guards entered a jeep equipped with a TOW missile and began driving to the location to meet the two officers.

*** Ishikawa: Imperial Diet

"And as such, Bashriyyan government admitted that so called "rogue elements" of it's military have been operating in Wenchuan for months!" shouted Baishou Gin while he faced the Imperial Diet Sadr san not only failed to inform us earlier of that development, but we also have reasons to suspect that so called "rouge" element are not so rouge after all!""

Mumurs could be heart across the entire Imperial Diet as Gin spoke. Almost every assembled person here knew exactly what it entailed. According to Ishikawa doctrine, Wenchuan was a vital security interest for the Empire of Greater Nifon. Another party involving itself in it Wenchuan meant an attack against most important Nifonese national interests.

"How can we believe words of man who openly admitted his plans to betray his closest ally, and admitted it that on phone to me?" Gin shouted "A man who openly allied with the aka, and antagonised almost the entire world? Shall we let this madman continue his plans, and wait patiently when he sends terrorists to our allies in Wenchuan and Ptomiak, or causes wars that cause oil prices to raise as high as mount Moriya? My friends - I answer no. Which is why today I wish to introduce the Bashriyyan Contaiment Act, which will be aimed at containing this threat!"

A wave of applauses passed over the assembled politicians, as Gin pointed on a PowerPoint presentation:

"The major points of this act include: severing diplomatic relations between the Empire of Greater Nifon and Bashriyyan Arab Islamic Republic: An embargo on automobile, luxury goods and other important product; and possible deployment of Nifonese soldiers to Sugogo in order to keep this threat at bay. Now, fellow members of the party, I will end my speech and let you carry out the work!"

It went swiftly from there. The Bashriyyan Containment Act was ratified within a couple hours, with only minor additions. And as the overwhelming amount of votes came with "aye", Gin smiled to himself inside his soul.

"I have the war I have wanted" he laughed "Perpetual war is necessary for my dream society to advance. Bashriyyans had done well..."

*** Akagi castle: Inside the "Situation Room".

"Leave it up for Sadr to cause a world war..." sighed Maki Kojiro looking at the assembled meeting of the "I am myself surprised how amateurish he is at politics. But, if you are like him... what can one expect?"

The faces of assembled inside Akagi castle on an emergency State Council meeting displayed a similar surprise. Almost all of them came from educated backgrounds, and such childish displays of incompetence made caused a massive surprise.

"Well, no matter what Sadr-san had done, we have to defend our interests" spoke Ryōichi Kenji, correcting his glasses. Kojiro himself wondered if Kenji, an older gentleman with long, black hair and galsses even cared about anything else "I would advise a swift action against the Basrhiiyan State while it's allies are unable to mobilize. Furthermore, we ought to wipe the Ma clan from existence for letting the terrorist in. "

"A true holy war!" Yamaguchi Kaien shouted, rejoicing at the prospect "I have longed at a chance to show the might of the Imperial Nifonese Army to those infidels! Give the order, Kojiro-sama!!"

"You, old friend, sound far too bloodthirsty for my liking." It is at this point that the Nifonese shgoun started having doubts about the situation. His own men were all too eager to spill blood. He himself was no stranger to spilling blood and had no hestitation, but at the same time, he preferred more... indirect solutions if it was possible.

Still, there was no choice now. Crucial Nifonese interests were threatened. If he hesitated, his people could be harmed. Seriously. He had to act.

"Regardless of our willingness for peace or lack of thereof, the truth is that we have to act..." Kojiro spoke "Kaien-kun, if you may?"

"Yes, Kojiro-sama!" replied the inspector general of the armed forces "At night today, a Nifonese spy satellite noticed a number of fifth generation aircraft being stationed on Bashriyyan air strip in Tripoli. Upon closer examination the aircraft were IDed to be "TkaN-X "Hawthorn" currently only in service in Reinkalistani military."

"The aka are coming to Bashriyya's aid" sighed Tokugawa Asuka "I have received little contact with MoFA of Theedischland, but I am sure that Theedisch government will attempt to defend it's national interests in Bashriyya."

"Right.." smiled Kojiro "Hence we give them what we want."

"Pardon, Kojiro-sama?"

"Asuka-san, I want you to contact MoFA of Theedischland" continued the Shogun of Nifon "And inform them that our operation will restrict itself to territory of Sugogo. The goal of the Empire of Greater Nifon is not a regime change, but punishing Bashriyya for it's assault on our national interests. Likewise, we will abstain from targetting oil infrastructure."

Kojiro analyzed Tokugawa's motions. It was not a great secret that Baroness of Kariwa, alongside with Gin, were members of the "Germanophile" faction in Nifonese politics, which loved everything Theedisch.

"That should satisfy them. Especially after we show them what Sadr said about them." replied the Baroness of Kariwa.

"Meanwhile, I will myself talk to the aka. I will inform them of my proposal - if they abstain from aiding Bashriyya, they shall be given a non-aggression treaty and guarantee that we will not take action against their allies in Congo for a decade. If they refuse, I will threaten them with a defensive alliance with Areumterra directed specially against them."

The statement caused an inquiry from the Inspector-General of the Armed Forces, who directed his sight at the Shogun:

"And you intend to go up with this thread, Kojiro-sama? Getting so close to Areumterra may be damaging to our standing."

"Yes, I do. It imperative that we prevent their ability to weaken even a potentially hostile state like that." countered Kojiro.

"One last thing, Kojiro-sama. Our intelligence within Rostovian army has confirmed that Lukhov-san intends to aid Bashriyya as well." interjected Tokugawa.

"Then I leave talking him out of it to you Tokugawa-san. I have been setting my eyes on Rostovia for quite some time. I want you to offer Lukhov-san a possibility of switching sides, according to our earlier plans. It should be enough to buy him up."

And with that, the meeting was dismissed.

*** Akagi Castle: Balcony

Kojiro stood, looking at the balcony. While the dawn rose with fire in Sugogo, the sun was setting in Ishikawa, covering him in dying light like a coat. He slowly turned around, to see Kaien's silhouette emerging from behind the doors.

"Nice view Maki-kun!" the old soldier joked while lighting a cigarette "Finally you let us of the leash in a holy crusade for Christendom itself."

Kojiro laughed silently.

"What is so funny?" the old General asked.

"Holy Crusade for the Christendom himself" the Nifonese shogun continued laughing "Don't make me laugh. It is all about power and for power - ours and theirs."

The face of his friend instantly became more grim "Don't say such things, Maki-kun! We all know that you aspire to..."

"What I aspire to is irrelevant. You saw it, hadn't you? In order to matter, the so called "Kirishitan nation" must keep the people of Wenchuan weak and divided, so they won't overtake it. Shall I mention that the leading warlord in Wenchuan follows Tenshukyo too? Kojiro continued laughing "Sadr wants power for himself and his clique and hides it under the banner of Islam just as our politicians want power and hide it under Teshukyo. Just as Theedisch, Inyurstans and other want power. Just as my own people who want power... and I have to give it to them, because if I won't care about their interests, I won't be a good ruler."

While Yamaguchi pondered in thought, Maki continued.

"In the old days, I wanted power. And filled with lust for power I turned on my best friend and commited a tsumi that I never could forget. It is only thanks to Iesu no Mikoto that I am still alive, that I have any hope for better tomorrow. However, my own decision to stake it all on Iesu no Mikoto is my own. Just like every other human, I too have my own will to power which I will try to realize. It takes all I have not to fall into that hole... but that is just me. Other humans will not listen, but follow their innermost, vile desires and commit the same mistakes like I did. "

"Then"

"But this situation got me thinking..." Nifonese shogun straightened up "What if instead of trying to change other humans - and impossible task - I created a system that would contain human lust for power?"

"What do you mean." asked the Inspector General.

"Weather state actors or not, there are plenty who seek power today. But I have realized - what if there was an international system built on balance of power, similar to the one that existed in ancient Wenchuan or in Eulabia in XIX century? Imagine it - if one of the actors gets too powerful, all others instantly turn against him. Therefore, all those who would seek unilateral hegemony, be it a state or non-sate parties would fail, no matter how powerful they would be. And this war gives me a perfect opportunity to create exactly the kind of world I dream of. "

"But it artificial." queried General Yamaguchi.

"Human society itself is artificial. Besides, do you have a better solution? A total resolution would require to strip humans of their lust for power - something that Iesu no Mikoto, not me, is capable of performing. But humanity had rejected him, leaving it up to me to contain the mess it creates until my master returns."

*** Mirsk & Cyberspace:

Instantly as Baishou Gin's speech was delivered, the Empire of Greater Nifon launched.

Military bases buzzed with activity, as plans for deployment begun. For several hours, one stream of aviation was seen flying from the Northern Military District to Radomyshl, Mirsk, where a Nifonese air base was located. Among them were two regiments worth of strike fighters, and one regiment worth of strategic bombers. Another strategic bomber regiment was sent to Mokujangu, where it would await further orders.

There was also a regiment of unmanned aviation for RISTA purposes being deployed. After it arrived, it was swifly refuelled and six MK-84F started and headed towards Bashriyyan air space.

And at the same time, plans were made for other kinds of retaliation. First, Nifonese investors would be given task to purchase as much Bashriyyan currency units. The second, and most important strike, would be launched by the infamous Unit 3210, which was responsible for Nifonese cyberwarfare and was directly subordinate to General Staff of the Imperial Nifonese Army.

The plan was simple - a DDoS attack at Bashryyan internet provider using a deniable asset - a massive botnet containing hundreds of thousands infected devices that were infected by a Gunpeitai-made malware, mostly in Afruika, where acccess to anti-Malware systems was. Exactly at 12.00 PM Ishikawa time the order was given, and the unit went to work. At 12.30 PM the attack begun.

The main internet providers in Bashriyya would come under fire of millions of fake connections, generated by processing power of affected devices. The power was sufficient to overwhelm Bashriyyan internet providers at least for a day, generating massive losses for businesses which relied on internet for their operations. It would also mean that people won't be able access the online banking, contributing to social panic.

All while maintaining full deniability.

Should however his excellency Osip-san choose to prusue the policy of supporting the Bashriyyan aggression against the world, the Empire of Greater Nifon will have no choice but to levy heavier sanctions of Rostovian goods and deny all those in charge access to Nifonese luxury goods.

Wenchuan - Winter 2021

Silence.
Dead silence coated the airport as the Inyurstan team and their Nifonese escorts arrived. Even the wind and blustering snowstorm had ceased. GGA commandos slowly secured the premises alongside their Nifonese counterparts, but they found not a single soul alive. Dispatched originally as part of the "negotiation team" (re:there for intel gathering) was Le Survivantière himself - Special Agent Henri Melendez, the same SA Melendez who had survived a Bryistic kidnapping and poisoning attempt (in a weird low-IQ move to provoke tensions between Inyursta and Cuscatlan). Melendez walked among ISD and military special forces alike as they inspected the carnage.
Inyurstan civilians, passengers from other countries, airport security, airport staff such as janitors and food workers, all laying dead in the cold. Many killed by bullets, though some were possibly sexually assaulted as well. Strangely enough a good number of Wenchuanese islamist fighters and a handful of Arab (presumably Bashriyyan or Filistinian) were also laying dead - stranger yet some appeared to have been shredded and left limbless or with massive chunks blown out by a high-caliber cannon round. The windows had been outright eviscerated, with glass chunks strewn all across some of the bodies and thrown as far back as 200m inside the terminal. A light snowfall had just lightly coated some of the bloodshed, like powdered sugar over blackberry syrup in some parts, as the wind had blown it in prior to their arrival.

"Quéla Merdé?" Agent Melendez asked out loud - a question which all of the living people in that terminal were asking.

It didn't make sense. If they were just going to kill everyone, why bother with attempting to take hostages and rounding everyone into the terminal? Why not blow up the jet in mid-air? Why not shoot everyone while the plane was on the ground? Why shoot their own allies? The bodies of all the Inyurstan passengers were in one place together, while the bodies of others were separated, and the lack of blood drag marks shows they were separated prior to execution. Why?
Right now the theory that made the most sense was some dispute between the Arab islamists and Wenchuanese islamists that turned hot, that something had caused them to start shooting each other and made the victorious faction liquidate the hostages.
But then who brought the autocannon?

Just when things couldn't get any less convoluted, within a few minutes, Melendez found himself inspecting the infirmary. The first thing he noticed was that three people had all been shot by a small-calibre pistol or PDW. The second, was that one of the dead was none other than Mahmoud Al-Faisal, who was still clutching his gun and had been dispatched with a shot right through the head. The third, was that near the exit was a pair of black leather women's shoes just standing on the floor side-by-side. He began taking notes as he noticed the bullet holes in the wall and floor. It appeared the two Wenchuanese islamic fighters had been shot from above while terrorist leader Al-Faisal met his end standing up. Whoever had done the shooting was a damn good shot, considering there was only one bullet hole in the wall and floor for each target - but then he observed two more bullet holes near the entrance. Who was the shooter targeting? Who had he missed? How many were in the room?

"Oi, Melendez, I got something." Agent Sierra de LaTriga, a.k.a. "Trig", a light-haired former operator turned investigative agent, called over to him. Still wearing a bullet-proof vest and with her MASAM-82A at her side, she walked into the infirmary with a physical log of the flight manifest. "Log says we got two pilots and three attendies, but body count over there we only got two attendies. In uniform, anyways..."
"Interesting..." He answered, and then pointed to the pair of discarded shoes.
Sierra bent down on her knees and inspected them.
"Just like the other two were wearing. Straps aren't broken and buckle is undamaged, meaning they were willfully and manually removed."
"She was in here. And we still don't have her body." Henri declared.
"You don't think there is a chance she's still alive?" Sierra asked.
"I've survived some unthinkable shit, Trig. I think there is a good chance we have a survivor and a witness on our hands somewhere out there..."

Al-Gerja Air Base, Northern Sugogo - Present Day

AOUW-AOUW-AOUW-AOUW-AOUW!!! rang the loud, old-timey air raid siren as Sugogoan personnel scrambled to take cover. A small number of men had taken it upon themselves to drag two of the Ki-21 UAVs out of their hangars and into the desert (via vehicle), where they were covered in a tarp designed to look like the barren, dusty soil surrounding them.
Many of the base's personnel, especially mechanics, cooks, logistics, etc. were in outright panic and retreat; some sheltering in the deepest reaches of their barracks, others attempting to flee out into the desert. In spite of the panic of the oncoming air assault by the largely non-combat staff, a few competent officers were managing to rally the base's limited air-defense into mounting some form of attack.

A pair of "monkey model" Type-5 I-SAM SHORADS were the best SAM they had at this outpost, with another pair of Type-5 Rakurai MANPADS able to be deployed quickly and unpredictably. Otherwise, the base's defense was left to six Inyurstan-supplied MAA-57 self-propelled anti-aircraft guns.
As the Bashriyyan fighter jets came into view, the tracked Type-5 I-SAM each let lose a pair of missiles and began rolling back to fire from a different position, meanwhile, the MANPADS and SPAAGs would wait until the enemy got closer and dropped altitude to engage successfully.

Operatíon: Vipéra Furíousa - Skies over Tifya - Present Day

Inyurstan radars in Tifya picked up the Bashriyyan formation crossing the border, and fighters were scrambled to intercept. Leading the formation were four squads of four AC/A-20 Crotaléa strike fighters, armed for entirely air-to-air combat.

"Alright, chicas et garcos, who's ready to become an ace today?" Major Perdano radioed to his flight.
"I for sure am."
"Count me in!" Another pilot responded.
"After that missed commie MiG-23, I sure am!" Captain Ariela Roban commented.
"Yeah but air kills against Lollohians counted for less. Obviously the likes of Bashriyyans don't count as a full enemy, right?" Jacques commented.
"I think that count had to do with tactics, not the enemy. Bashriyyans might be absolute inbred trash scum but if they can fight like a competent opponent a kill is a kill." Ariela responded.
"So what you are saying is, even though Bashriyyans are barely human, if they can fight better than a Lollohian they count as an air-to-air kill?"
"I'm saying to never underestimate your opponent." She clarified.
"We will see, Capt. We will see!"
"Remember, gang, be sure to leave one alive..." Major Perdano reminded the rest of the flight.

Contrary to the popular Hi-Lo-Hi flight altitude path, the Inyurstan strike fighters were flying below radar to begin the mission, and would "pop up" as they crossed into Sugogoan air space, putting themselves higher than Bashriyyan Dornier fighters. As they did so, the flight would shift to an offensive "concave array" formation, with each wingman-pair spaced approximately 6km or so from the next, to cover a distance of about 45km wide and about 18km deep. Such a formation offered the advantage of multiple radar angles, and ultimately better position to launch their missiles BVR. The disadvantage was that by spreading out, each wingman-pair was more exposed to direct engagement than they were as a group - however, this disadvantage was more applicable to WVR combat rather than the long-range envelope for which they planned to attack from.
Ariela flicked through the channels on her radio as the body of her plane rose higher into the sky, dialing it in to a common channel identified by SIGINT as "by-catch". The channel was that of Sugogoan military radar - which enemy intel may or may not be listening into.
"Sugogo, You Are Not Alone."

Chasing the Crotaléas, albeit at a losing pace, were two trios of AC/A-83 Bocaracá light fighters. Unlike the Crotaléas, they were not fit to go toe-to-toe with a fully-armed and fully-fueled fourth-generation opponent - even if said opponent was armed for ground-attack - but that wasn't the plan, for the plan was to come in late but come in hot and tip the scales. They were also a first-response if anything should attempt to threaten the supporting E-2Y1 Ôejo de Haucon (literally "Hawk Eye") AWE&CS.

Meanwhile, Inyurstan SIGINT had already began the work of developing an "active map" of Bashriyyan positions - especially command & communications. The ER-375J Havoc Ultra had already returned to the safety of Tifyan air space and gathered excellent long-range data, but now it was time get closer and riskier. The tool for the task would be a pair of SA/E-52M1 Hoatzin MALE-UAVs equipped for short-range SIGINT paired with electro-optical imaging. One drone would directly penetrate Bashriyyan air space in the southern section of the country, while the other would keep to the Sugogoan border, particularly the lake shore region.

It's not French,it's not Spanish,it's Inyurstan
"Inyourfaceistan" refers to my player/user name, "Inyursta" is my IC name. NOT INYURSTAN. IF YOU CALL INYURSTA "INYURSTAN" THEN IT SHOWS THAT YOU CANT READ. Just refer to me as IYF or Stan.

Psychotic Dictatorship

Postby Bashriyyan Arab Islamic Republic » Sat Feb 26, 2022 4:06 pm

2 Days earlier

Bashriyyan internet had been shutdown costing Bashriyyan Businesses millions of dollars, thankfully the Bashriyyan Government eventually managed to fix the problem in a short period of time, and addressed the problem as a cyber attack from an unknown enemy. The Bashriyyan Government did not know who it was, the likely culprits were either Palm or Inyursta and this was what was sent out to the media throughout Bashriyya.

Tripoli, Bashriyya

Sadr sat down in his office watching the television as Baishou Gin gave his speech, observing the speech along with him was Colonel Nibal Al-Daoud considered Sadr's #2 man and also Muhammed Nasheed's most decorated soldier. "Can you believe this shit Nibal?" Sadr said angrily "Look at this bullshit artist." Nibal looked at Sadr and said "Why did you call and tell him about our overseas activities?" Sadr shook a bit "Listen Nibal, I was merely showing our strength" Nibal was perplexed by this answer "You betrayed our secrecy"

Sadr attempted to justify himself, "Akhi, they cannot touch us and won't waste resources." Nibal was pissed "You didn't listen to any of my advice Sadr. I told you they would be best left alone, plus you told them about Muhammed Nasheed's operations in Wenchuan? You sold out our Muslim brothers because you wanted to be a big shot politician HA!?" Nibal elaborated "Listen Sadr, you were good early on but you've sold us out, the war may very well be lost because of your foolishness. May Allah have mercy on your soul, you were better off in the private sector but of course your daddy's friend the Yahudy Ronald Krump wanted to put you in office all for his own greed, yet little did he know you clearly have not learned the Art of the deal!"

Nibal then walked out the door and left the Palace, part of him feared for his life considering he talked down the President of Bashriyya, but with the newly revealed info by Gin he could not help himself. Why would someone threaten to betray their most important and needed ally in the middle of a war and tell it over the phone for it to be recorded? How could someone be so stupid, so idiotic and so incompetent? Not to mention now the whole Wenchuan operation was revealed and this would make it hard for Nibal's men to operate in the Ptomiak. Bashriyya's natural interest was at stake and the beast of Pan-Arab, Pan-Afruikan, Pan-Islamic expansion was not going to be contained any time soon on Nibal's time. He began hatching his plan and contacted the Theedish Government via phone, other Bashriyyan military officers were contacted including some who had been friends of Sadr and a new regime change plot was now in play.

Al-Gerja air-base

The Dornier fighters had arrived and began dropping their anti-run way munitions, They also began to open fire with 20mm canon on any crew and ground forces that were spotted, enemy personnel would find them selves under heavy fire once the jets had finished dropping their payload on the run-ways, hangers were targeted with cluster munitions. The Bashriyyan goal was to render Al-Gerja airforce base completely unusable to the enemy, Sugogan AA guns and Infra-red missiles were fired off as Bashriyyan jets did evasive action. 2 Bashriyyan jets were hit as the pilots ejected. Later more fighters would be launched to attack targets away from Al-Gerja air-force base.

Near Lake Sugogo, Sugogan villages

FDNL reinforcements pushed in to back up the pinned down units in the Sugogan villages, fighting was intense and they brought with them heavy ordinance mortars of various sorts, anti-tank missiles, flamethrowers and Rocket-propelled grenades, and sniper rifles they commenced to back up their comrades.

Palace of the Supreme Leader, Rostov City, National People's Republic of Rostovia

It was late in the afternoon when the Nifonese diplomatic cable came through to the Rostovian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. A copy was immediately whisked off to Supreme Leader Lukhov who, after reading through the message, ordered the Minister of Foreign Affairs to be shot on the basis that somebody must have leaked information about the planned intervention in Bashriyya to Nifonese intelligence. Shortly after, the entire staff of the Ministry was rounded up by the Committee of National Loyalty and sent to labour camps while half a dozen senior army officers responsible for organising the deployment to Bashriyya were summarily executed. The round of purges was completed once the officers of the 91st Republican Guards Air Assault Division, which was slated to be deployed to Bashriyya, were shot and replaced by their subordinates who hadn't been briefed on their intended destination.

Once all of the various individuals had been liquidated or imprisoned for life, a meeting was called by the Vozhd. Seated at a long table deep in the bowels of the Palace of the Supreme Leader, a council of senior officials waited for the Vozhd to pronounce judgement as they read through the copies of the Nifonese communication that had been placed before them. Their number included a completely inexperienced and untrained young man who had been selected as the new Minister of Foreign Affairs who was struggling not to tremble before the Great Leader.

"These yellow dogs dare to threaten us?" Rostovia's autocratic despot broke the silence and pounded the table with his fist. The threat of Nifon increasing sanctions was laughable, but insulting. Rostovia was already sanctioned to the hilt and further measures would only reduce the standard of living for the poorest citizens even further while making it slightly more difficult for Lukhov to replenish his wine cellar. Sitting to the Supreme Leader's side, General Stepanov idly wondered if Rostovia even bothered importing anything from Nifon at the best of times.

"My Vozhd, this message does seem to offer a way for our great country to benefit greatly from this whole mess." Stepanov didn't bother mentioning that it was the Vozhd who had decided to send troops to Bashriyya in the first place. "The situation in Bashriyya is continuing to deteriorate as we speak and our forces likely will be involved in heavy fighting. There is no point to sending our troops to fight and protect Bashriyyan oil wells when we can potentially gain an alternative source by merely sitting on our hands. If this offer is sincere, we can end the punitive sanctions levied against our great nation and greatly increase the modernisation of our armed forces." The new Minister of Foreign Affairs nodded enthusiastically.

"They still threatened us," Lukhov countered. The Supreme Leader looked miffed that someone had even thought of threatening him. "And why should we bow to the wishes of these weaklings?"

"Nogotiate, My Vozhd. They offer much, but perhaps they could be persuaded to offer more." Stepanov soothed the Leader's ruffled feathers. "The degenerates who rule all of these countries that fear us have forgotten the old ways. They would rather sit and talk instead of fight. If we exploit their reluctance to use force, Rostovia can make greater gains."

The Vozhd thought it over for a moment. "Yes. We can exploit their inclination to avoid soiling their troops and profit from it. We will tell the Nifonese that-"

The door burst open to reveal an out-of-breath officer. "My Vozhd! One of our aircraft has been shot down over Bashriyya!"

Bashriyyan Airspace, near the border with Sugogo, earlier that day

The fleet of Rostovian transport planes, carrying the remaining troops of the 477th Imperial accompanied by the second of two squadrons of Rostovian-made Melnik-83 "Orel" ground attack aircraft, began to descend towards the Bashriyyan airfield that had been earmarked for their use. There was a flash of light from the desert below and a shoulder-launched surface-to-air missile streaked up towards the Rostovian formation. The airwaves exploded with panicked chatter and orders as the formation scattered. One of the transports, laden with ammunition and heavy ordinance, was struck in the wing by the missile. Had the missile not ruptured a fuel line, the damage would have been bearable. As it was, the entire right flank of the aircraft erupted into flame before the cargo detonated spectacularly, shattering the windows on several nearby transport planes and sending the gutted wreckage hurtling towards the ground. Fortunately for the 477th, none of their men had been onboard the aircraft when it went down. The flip side of this was that a very angry pilot from the Rostovian Air Forces decided to carpet the Bashriyyan soil below him with the limited quantity of rockets that his plane was carrying, the rest of his hardpoints having been filled with supplementary fuel tanks for the journey to Bashriyya. On the airfield below, the pilots who had arrived earlier that morning rushed to their warplanes and half a dozen Orels were taxiing down the runway to launch some sort of retaliatory strike. Troops already on the ground stopped unloading supplies or pitching tents and dived for cover as Rostovian jeeps roared off in clouds of dust towards the reported launch site.

Lieutenant Nikita Vassiliev braced himself as the plane he was in banked hard. One of the commissars onboard stared in concentration out of the window, hoping to catch a glimpse of whoever had fired the missile while the other took one hand off of his assault rifle to steady himself against the motion of the aircraft. Vassiliev saw his chance. What nobody else knew was that, shortly before they boarded the plane in Rostovia, the young Lieutenant had been quietly told of his parents' arrest by a compatriot. The private, from the same hometown as Vassiliev, had described how he had seen the Lieutenant's parents being dragged off by the Committee of National Loyalty as he had been returning to the regiment from leave. Vassiliev had seethed and, after the briefing given by Colonel Pushkin, resolved to desert the Rostovian army at the first opportunity in Bashriyya. He was fairly confident that his men would follow him regardless of what happened, but the commissars and the men piloting the aircraft could be a problem.

"Damnit! We've been hit by something!" The pilot swore and banked again.

His co-pilot looked concerned. "I don't think that was shrapnel. Sounded a bit like a gunshot in the hold." He started to undo his harness when there was another shot followed by a third. The co-pilot was reaching for his sidearm when Lieutenant Vassiliev entered the cockpit waving his pistol.

"Don't move!" Vassiliev reached over and grabbed the co-pilot's weapon while keeping his own firmly pointed at the man's face. He looked at the pilot who was watching Vassiliev's reflection in a mirrored panel. "You, set a course for Sugogo." Vassiliev was fairly confident that he would be safe from his own government if he could disappear completely and the best chance of doing that was in a country hostile to his own. Reluctantly, the pilot complied.

There was a garbled burst of speech from the radio as somebody on the ground noticed the aircraft moving away from the airfield. Vassiliev moved to point one of his pistols at the pilot and said, "Don't even think about it." The pilot nodded, then suddenly made a grab for the radio as the co-pilot threw himself at Vassiliev.

"Command, we have been hijacked! Lieuten-!" The pilot gasped as a bullet went through his neck and shattered the instrument panel. Vassiliev dropped the pistols and struggled with the co-pilot before the floor seemed to drop from under them. The aircraft, now without a hand on the steering equipment, dropped like a stone. Vassiliev managed to free one arm and, seizing a metal flask from a pouch on the back of the pilot's chair, bludgeoned the co-pilot until he stopped moving.

"What the hell is happening?" someone shouted as Vassiliev fought to get into the co-pilot's seat as panicked shouts emerged from the main hold. For a moment, he froze as the ground grew increasingly close until it suddenly occurred to him to pull on the wheel-like thing in front of him. The airframe shuddered as Vassiliev, somehow, got the plane out of a fatal dive. Without any better ideas to go on, he decided to point the nose of the aircraft towards the lake he could just make out in the distance and hope for the best.

Things seemed to be looking up until a stream of thirty-millimeter cannon-fire slammed into the back of the transport and turned half the platoon into chunky pasta sauce. The screaming got worse in the rear of the plane as Vassiliev fought for control. Evidently, somebody had ordered the Orels to intercept his hijacked transport. Somehow, Vassiliev managed to avoid another volley of shells before most of the pursuing aircraft inexplicably peeled off. The lieutenant smiled with relief just before the radar screamed loud enough to wake the dead and a missile tore apart one of the transport's engines. The remaining engine struggled to cope with the increased load as Vassiliev desperately scanned the skies for threats. The missile had come from somewhere in front of him, so it couldn't have been from his remaining pursuer.

The transport descended, trailing smoke as the surviving engine began to break apart under the strain. The ground loomed closer, the second time in less than an hour. Vassiliev screamed as the aircraft ploughed into the ground. He blacked out for a moment and, waking to find the smell of smoke wafting into his nostrils, scrambled to get out of the transport. He was joined by the surviving members of the platoon.

"What the hell were you thinking?!" Private Yuri Menshikov, the friend who had told Vassiliev about his parents' arrest, was freaking out. "You'll get us all killed!" This statement was reinforced when the wreckage of the plane suddenly exploded. The two friends dived behind a sand dune as the sole remaining Melnik-83 roared overhead and began to turn for another pass. Vassiliev felt himself go weak at the knees as the attack aircraft sped towards them. All seemed lost, just as another missile slammed into the Orel. The pilot desperately tried to evade but the stricken aircraft was swatted from the skies by a third and final missile.

Vassiliev watched for a moment and commented, "No parachutes." The crew evidently hadn't managed to bail out and had gone down with their aircraft. He turned and took stock of the situation. Half a dozen out of the thirty-strong platoon remained.

"Come on," He ordered. "We can't stay here."

Palace of the Supreme Leader, Rostov City, National People's Republic of Rostovia, Present

The meeting had gone sour. The Vozhd was pacing like a caged animal while Rostovia's top officials sat like wax dummies and tried not to draw attention to themselves. Finally, Lukhov spoke.

"These cowards have made it personal. Our troops have been bloodied by this conflict, to pull out now would be to invite ridicule upon us. Rostovia will continue to support Bashriyya."

"But, My Vozhd-" The young Minister of Foreign Affairs clapped a hand over his mouth as the Great One swiveled to look at him. When nobody came up behind him to execute him, he lowered his hand and continued. "The Nifonese have made their offer and I believe the General is correct. We can use the favourable conditions that accepting their offer will bring to revitalise the military."

"So, the problem is, My Vozhd, that we must satisfy our honour while keeping the yellow men at the negotiating table." Stepanov leaned forward. "I propose a limited engagement of our troops in order to root out those who attacked us while we negotiate with Nifon."

"Make it done," the Vozhd hissed.

The meeting adjourned. Stepanov made his way back to his office. When he got there, the phone was ringing.

"Yes?.. Colonel Pushkin. How is Bashriyya?.. Another plane went missing, you say?.. Shot down?.. Yes. I will deal with this. No need to worry, Colonel. This matter will be between you and me."

As he put the phone down, Stepanov's face darkened. Something had to be done about this little incident.

To: The government of Bashriyya

Following the shooting down of Rostovian aircraft in Bashriyyan airspace, Supreme Leader Osip Lukhov, Vozhd of the Rostovian People, Grand High Marshal of the Rostovian Armed Forces, Heir to the Tsar's Throne, Great Conductor of Human Happiness, Shining Beacon of Enlightenment, Champion of the Rostovian Faith, Honorary Doctor of Sciences at Rostov City University, Master Guide of the Revolution, Teacher of the Revolutionary Method, Grand Architect of the People's Happiness, Supreme Father of the Rostovian People, Grand Chairman-General Secretariat of the Mladorostovian Party, Vanguard of the Lukhovist National Front, Lord-Governor of Mirsk, Vanquisher of the Red Menace and Ally to the People of Bashriyya, has decreed that the troops deployed to Bashriyya are to remain independent of the Bashriyyan military command structure due to security concerns. Our troops will continue to liaise and cooperate with the Bashriyyan military but all operations will need to be authorised by the General Staff of the Rostovian Armed Forces.

Furthermore, Rostovian forces will be operating in a limited capacity within Bashriyyan territory until further notice. Given that the missile which downed our transport was fired from Bashriyyan soil, Rostovian forces will conduct counterinsurgency operations against hostile elements operating within Bashriyyan territory. Any requests from the Bashriyyan military to deploy outside of Bashriyya's borders will be refused until such time as those responsible for the attack on Rostovian forces have been apprehended.

Slava Lukhovu!

A Nifonese delegation is hereby invited to meet with the Supreme Leader in Rostov City to discuss the terms of an agreement.

At this time, it is no longer possible to disengage peacefully from the situation in Bashriyya. In order to allow for the successful conclusion of a mutually beneficial agreement, Rostovian forces will be restricted to operations within Bashriyya. It is hoped that this will facilitate successful diplomatic talks.

Al-Gerja Air Base, Northern Sugogo - Present Day

Screaming down from the skies, the Bashriyyan anti-runway munitions fell unopposed and hit their target right on the paved airfield. Huge chunks of concrete were upturned by the penetrating bombs exploding beneath the surface, turning what was seconds ago a flat surface into a 3D maze of displaced slabs and broken pavement. Within a single pass, the Bashriyyan air force had functionally taken a Sugogoan air base off the map.
Cluster munitions began falling, blasting through the roofs of the hangars and destroying both KU-21 drones and three out of the six helicopters. Ground crews and soldiers trying to flee were gunned down and blown to bits by the 20mm cannons of the Dornier fighters; however, there was an irony as it was those fleeing in terror who found themselves being targeted while those holding their positions still remained unmolested.

Both Sugogoan MANPADS teams opened fire, one of them making a point-blank shot at the tail pipe as it passed overhead; the other crew aiming at an oncoming fighter leveling itself for an attack run. Still in the fight, both Type 5 I-SAM units fired of another pair of missiles (each); meanwhile, all six 57mm SPAAGS joined in on the fight, each unleashing 400RPM volleys at the enemy jets.

Operatíon: Vipéra Furíousa - Skies over Tifyan - Sugogoan Border

Once at altitude and in formation, the AC/A-20 strike fighters dropped their external fuel tanks and proceeded towards the radar contacts out of Bashriyya, which were now over Al-Gerja Air Base in Sugogo. Synthetic aperture radar in the planes noses were picking up missile launches from the ground, implying there was ongoing combat.
"95km and closing" one of the forward fighters radioed, now having crossed the border into Sugogoan air space.
"Zeta Actual, to Zeta All, select targets." Major Perdano ordered, which was followed by a number of confirmations.
"85km and closing"
"Zeta Actual to Zeta All, fire at will." The command came over the radio.
In a matter of seconds, a volley of supersonic C-120M2 Rapier air-to-air missiles screamed out from under the wings of the strike fighters. Each Crotaléa launched two of the missiles, amounting for a total of 32 missiles hurtling at the Dornier fighters. From their higher altitude, they had a kinetic advantage over their targets as gravity assisted the rocket engines of the Rapier in their descent.

To the honorable Tokugawa Asuka, Minister of External Affairs,
Empire of Greater Nifon;

CC Foreign Ministry of the Royal Palmyrian Commonwealth

Greetings Esteemed Colleague,

On behalf of so many of us here in Castille de Térro, it is my great pleasure to tell you how relived we are that the Empire of Greater Nifon has finally come to their senses and realized that Bashriyya is a perpetual terrorist state that cannot be trusted for anything - save for continued attempts to strike fear into the hearts of innocents and insanity into global geopolitics.

We are more than happy to form a unified front against Bashriyya. Currently, we were planning retaliatory action against Bashriyya via the land border with Tifya; however, the current situation in Sugogo creates another opportunity - if not a pressing concern - for a new military front against Nasheed's terrorist state. As such, the opportunity for cooperation with your own government and that of Palmyrion opens up a means for us to contain Bashriyya on two fronts.

We eagerly await future correspondence and development on this subject.

Thank you, and God Bless!

DECLARTION OF THE REPUBLIC OF TIFYA

The Republic of Tifya and its people strongly and openly condemn the actions of the Bashriyyan Arab Islamic Republic and their transgressions against peace in North Afruika. It is clear to us that their dispute over the Sugogo Lake Dam is nothing but a pretense for much larger imperialistic action Bashriyya is known. We also denounce their support for the Bandit-President Mustapha Omand and his cutthroats and terrorists. We call on the International Security and Arbitration Council, as well as on other international organizations to condemn and act against this senseless war-lust.

Signed: Ali Abraha Omar,
President of the Republic

Tifya, Kirata, Capital City

This can't end well. Thought General Kattan to himself. Mudar Abdul-'Adl Kattan was the head of the Directorate of Military Intelligence and the situation between Bashriyya and Sugogo was a great source of stress to him. At first, there were reports of armed militants and raiders near lake Sugogo. The DMI was obviously aware from the start that Nasheed was behind this, yet there was this feeling that he won't dare to repeat the mistakes of his father. But then came the reports of airstrikes, followed by news of foreign states pouring troops and equipment into that God-forsaken hell hole. The General paced back and forth in front of President Omar's office, waiting for the moment to be allowed inside.

Then the doors opened a little and one of the President's bodyguards peaked from it. "General Mudar Abdul-'Adl Kattan, President is awaiting you. The General nodded and entered the room. Before even looking inside he was struck by the smell of tobacco. There were three men in the office. The tobacco smell came from the cigar of General Nu'aim Shihad Atiyeh. He was an imposing man, with a thick black beard. He was in his worn military uniform. While being de jure merely only the Minister of National Defence, Atiyeh was the real head of the military and possibly had more sway over the armed forces than the President himself. The man sitting next to him was a complete contrast to him. A scrawny-looking bolding man with gray hairs and prescription glasses in a typical business suit. It was Shahid Yushua Cham, Minister of International Relations. He was the only person to smile at Kattan as he entered the room.

Behind the desk sat President Omar himself. He was a clean-shaven man, with a few grey hair locks and a decent-sized mustache. He gestured towards a single empty chair between General Atiyeh and Minister Cham.

"Your excellency." Bowed Kattan.

"Please sit, General." President did not care much for courtesy during the times like these. "What is the composition of pro-Bashriyyan forces that arrived?"

"A brigade-sized element from the PFR, mechanized as far as we are aware. Also, there are reports of modern multi-role fighters, but how many are there is unconfirmed." General Kattan paused for a while. "We are also expecting some Rostovian troops to make an appearance, about a division."

"Rostovian and Reinkalistani..." Sighed the President. "I am not sure if either of those cares about some Sugogan dam." Omar then looked at Minister Cham. "What about Theedish? Have they made any moves yet? I am sure they are itching to get into another fight with Palmyrion."

"Not yet. Perhaps they do not want to anger Nifon. Another open war between these two would for sure re-ignite the Ancor conflict which could change the entire security situation in the Furukuran Sea. But even without them, this could be the start of the largest conflict in North Afruika since the dawn of this millennium."

"And in that case, we won't want to be caught off-guard..." added General Atiyeh.

"Perhaps... Perhaps... But in any case, we should first secure co-operation with our Inyurstan allies." replied the Minister.

"Very well then. General, the southern and eastern military commands must enter the state of emergency as must the Air Force. Minister, prepare a communique to Castille de Térro. Dismissed."

COMMUNIQUE OF THE REPUBLIC OF TIFYA

To: Françisco Ardonez, Secretary of State, Republic of Inyursta

The ongoing situation in the neighboring Democratic Republic of Sugogo is a grave concern to the government of Tifya. The Bashiryyan incursions seem to be enough proof to us that the aggressive imperialist tendencies of the Nasheed dynasty have returned. We believe that the pacification of Bashiryya is in common interest in both of our nations, and we propose a joint military operation against this threat.

To the honorable Shahid Yusha-Cham, Minister of International Relations,
Republic of Tifya;

CC: Antonia DeLoroza, Chief of Staff; General Damien Jean-Cristophe, Armíea D'Inyursta

Greetings Esteemed Colleague,

I am happy to inform you that we are both on the same page in regard to the threat posed by Bashriyya's imperialist actions in North Afruika and sponsorship of mass murdering global terrorism. Like father, like son, it would so seem. However, I must reiterate my understanding that we are fortunate enough not to share a border with such a horrid state.

What my military colleagues, who I have CC'ed in this message, have informed me is that our current deployment lacks both long-term maneuver capability and long-range strike capability. Given the threat of Bashriyyian mobile forces and rocket/missile attacks, what we request is permission to deploy an additional armored force into Tifya, a roughly "half brigade" to apply additional maneuver pressure and additional long-range, ground-based strike assets such as strategic rocket artillery, Duvalier II conventional (and I reiterate conventional) tactical ballistic missiles, and 210mm counter-battery artillery.
Apologies in advance if this request comes as too sudden or risking too much escalation, but we believe the best way to prevent another Bashriyyan chemical weapons attack on Tifyan soil (such as occured in 2018) is to hit them before they hit you.

In any case, it is my sincerest hope that we are able to continue this partnership and dialogue proceeding forward into the future.

Thank you, and may peace be with you!

DEPARTMENT OF STATE AFFAIRS
3100 Macapagal Square, Aragon, D.C.
Royal Palmyrian Commonwealth

25 February 2022

Tokugawa Asuka, Minister of External Affairs
Ishikawa, Empire of Nifon

Dear Mr. Tokugawa,

Greetings, minister! The Royal Commonwealth welcomes your communique regarding the developing situation in Sugogo, in particular Bashriyyan aggression against Sugogo, which has hosted numerous Palmyrian economic interests namely the Sugogian National Aqueduct.

The Bashriyyan state has essentially gone rogue, and Sadr's ascent as his father's successor has, unarguably or not, changed things for the worse. It is believed that, at current standing, locally-stationed Palmyrian state and private military forces will be overwhelmed sooner or later at the current pace that things are going, with the raids and offensives carried out by Bashriyyan-backed rebels and potentially even by plainsclothed Bashriyyan regulars. Thus we have deployed an initial response force to help shore up defences along the Sugogian-Bashriyyan border.

Thus we welcome your idea of a united front to take Bashriyya back to its rightful place again. We shall no longer tolerate further aggression by Bashriyya against its neighbours, and tell them so in the only language that they understand: war and violence. I look forward to negotiating the terms and conditions that this united front will abide to.

Sincerely Yours,
[digitally signed]

That had to be the most vitriolic missive that he had sent his entire life. Sure, it doesn't match all the stuff he said when he was a hot-blooded young adult, but he was talking about all the missives he's sent in his life as a government official - and especially as the Vice-Chancellor of State Affairs.

With that missive done, he then proceeded with his other paperwork, folders upon folders of files up for his scrutiny and final decision. That missive went over his head like nothing as it was emailed away to Ishikawa, partly oblivious of the geopolitical consequences it bore not only for Palmyrion and Nifon, but also for Afruika.

Bryce Fox - Horns

A pair of eyes as sharp as those of a Palmyrian eagle's.

"Ready!" the site director primed 1LT Annika Moulin for the practical shooting course about to start, with Annika positioning herself in a cowboy stance, ready to draw her HG.107 from a quick-draw holster on her hip.

A mind sharper than the coldest and sharpest of swords.

"Standby!" the site director exclaimed, with Annika entering a fight-or-flight state as she stared right at the first target in front of her: a full-sized human silhouette target made of steel, ready to draw her pistol and fire off a Mozambique trio into the target.

A nimble pair of hands quick on the draw.

Beep! went the indicator as Annika, starting at Station Alpha quickly drew her pistol and aimed it right at the target's torso: two shots of 9x22 De Leon, each projectile similar in construction to the AP variant of the Russian 9x21 Gyurza, punched through the steel target's torso, followed afterwards by a shot to the head square between where the eyes would be. She switched in between targets before her magazine, filled with only nine rounds, ran out, afterwards switching to an indoor station (Station Bravo) where she would have to reload an SG.111 with three 12G rounds, which she would fire at three targets as she advanced through the indoor station.

The next station, again an outdoor one, consisted of an SMG.110 with its stock retracted and to be reloaded with a single magazine with 15 9x22 armour-piercing rounds. Five targets would be shot: one at a gap between a shipping container and the site's walls, and four at elevated positions at a nearby stack of shipping containers. The next station was a machine gun station, where she would find an MGL.102 waiting for her with a 100-round box magazine next to it. She knew what to do: reload the MGL.102 as needed, and accurately dump all 100 rounds at a large steel target just across the hallway

The next station across the hallway was a combination of an outdoor sub-station and an indoor sub-station, this time with an AR.101 and a fully-loaded 30-round magazine beside waiting for her. After reloading the weapon as needed, Annika proceeded to clear the last remaining targets, putting two in the chest and one in the head for each steel target she encountered: 3 in the indoor segment, 3 at an outdoor segment before a "junkyard" full of car wrecks separated from the next segment by an archway, and the remaining 4 at the "junkyard".

She would then sprint to the exit with an emptied AR.101 in her hands, where she carefully placed the AR.101 in a weapon case, and tapped a button to stop the timer and officially finish the course.

"Four minutes and 25 seconds! Good job on the practical course. Keep it going, Moulin." the site instructor addressed through the MOUT site's PA system.

Skies over Northern Sugogo

As the Bashriyyans fighters were bombing what remained of Al-Gerja airbase, a total of 10 fighters would meet their sudden end when hit with C-120M2 missiles, 10 fighters blown right out of the air. The pilots were so awestruck at what had just happened, they did not expect anyone would try to oppose their air-campaign. Only 12 fighters remained, and were taking evasive maneuvers back across to head back toward the Bashriyyan border.

Down below, the Sugogoan AA teams cheered. Infantry fired their rifles into the air at the arrival of mysterious far-flung air support. MAA-57 SPAAGs continued firing at the Bashriyyan fighters.
"Good hit! Good hit!" Major Perdano radioed, as he watched many of the missiles connect and virtually half the bogies descend altitude and vanish into the ground clutter.
Responding to the Bashriyyan fighters begining their 180* toward them the Inyurstan flight split from a single conical array into two, creating a roughly 40km "gap" between them. The purpose of the large gap was to either allow the Bashriyyan fighters an escape route (at the cost of pincering themselves) or if the Bashriyyans intended to push the envelope of engagement into WVR it would divide their numbers and allow for cleaner "overflow" by the Inyurstan aircraft.

A second volley of 32 C-120M2 missiles was fired (again, two per fighter) at the remaining Bashriyyan flight, aiming to soften the odds before the coup-de-grace; though as the second volley came toward the planes, pilots began to eject rather then be martyred for Sadr's war.

A congratulatory cheer went up among the Inyurstan pilots as they watched both missiles and enemy planes disappear from radar and twelve parachutes appear.
"Bon travaille! Let's get back to base before any more show!" Perdano radioed to his subordinates as the Inyurstan aircraft maintained altitude and cut back towards Tifyan airspace.
"GRANDE-EYE 1 to Zeta All, Intel's gonna be pissed! You dingbats were supposed to leave one alive!" The AWE&Cs chimed in.
"Zeta Actual to GRANDE-EYE 1; It's not our fault they ejected!" Perdano piped back.
"GRANDE-EYE 1 to Zeta Five; by the way we carried your "Sugogo You Are Not Alone" broadcast to as many radio stations as possible. I think this one is gonna go viral..."
"Zeta Five to GRANDE-EYE 1, Roger that, thank you GRANDE-EYE 1!" Ariela smirked as she relished in the clean-cut air victory.

Meanwhile on the ground, the reception was mixed. Some Sugogoans were in a state of shell-shock and horror: the explosions stilling ringing in their ears, desperate attempts to pull barely-breathing comrades from the rubble, standing in horror at the mess that had less than an hour ago been a functioning military installation.
Others, were celebrating. AA crews cheered and congratulated each other, the fact that Al-Gerja had been obliterated and that the operation was still a Bashriyyan pyrrhic victory (at least at the tactical level) had yet to set in, but what had set in is that they had survived while the enemy fighter had not. Two men were dancing on top of their MAA-57 vehicle, even as crews worked to remove a wounded man from a destroyed hangar just meters away. Another trio of soldiers posed by a downed Dornier fighter that had its cockpit and left wing blown off by a BVRAAM; two of them shooting holes in the plane then raising their rifles as if they had shot it down themselves while the third man took pictures with a polaroid camera as one of their own munitions depots burned in the background.

Military units in the AO then dispatched patrols to locate the ejected Bashriyyan pilots in the desert, and spread the word to local village militias to keep an eye out for the downed Arabs.

Tripoli, Bashriyya

"Sir, I have good news and erm...bad news." said Abdul Haidar Al-Ali, head of the Bashriyyan Arab Airforce to President Sadr. Sadr was suspicious almost instantly after hearing bad news "What is the good news?" the officer then responded "We bombed Al-Gerja airbase to a pulp" Sadr smiled and said "Masha 'Allah!" thrilled with the news, he then asked "Okay now give me the bad news." Al-Ali hesitated "W-well sir, some missiles coming from the airspace near Tifya shot down our planes, and a large portion of our pilots ejected" Sadr upon hearing this began to flip out in anger yelling at all of his staff, flipping the desk over, ripping up papers and completely raging.

“So great to meet you, we Bashriyyans are so grateful for your presence.” Sadr said shaking the officer’s hand “Your help is greatly needed, we are trying to avert this turning into World War 3. You see I lost friends over this war, I lost allies, everyone and their mother has been after me, that is why I have been holding back a full-scale invasion for so long. I have been forced into using what Westerners call little green men to avoid over escalation. I’m fighting empires here and I cannot afford an outright direct conflict with them at this time. I’m sure you understand why you are here?”

Yariskavich nodded, his cynical expression melting into one of charismatic warmness – Gorchovsky's eyes remained completely obscured by his shades, only his poker-faced mouth visible, the man completely silent. The Lieutenant-Colonel spoke. "Yes, of course. We are totally aware of your plight in this situation. Lake Sugogo is a tough nut to crack; there is the fickle influence of the, uh, what you call 'Palmoids' to contend with. Naturally, we are ready to dispatch our forces far south. Hopefully we have mobilised far quicker than the Sugogan comprador-regime's allies have, if they have deigned to intervene in their puppeteered shithole at all. We are, as you are probably aware, not here on official P.F.R. business, and as far as the folks up top are concerned, we aren't officially here at all." He gestured to the ongoing deployment. "Of course, it is rather clear that this won't work for long. This will mark an escalation, as I am sure you are aware. If this is the case, then the Red Army will be more than happy to involve itself further. Would you be okay with this?"

Sadr was in agreement “Why yes, we are very well aware that this is not official, in fact we thought maybe you should be given the liberty of identifying the new President for Free Sugogo? The FDNL will need a new leader, considering the current one is a bit? Erm, how do you say? Problematic?”

The officer seemed a bit taken aback, but quickly regained his posture. "I think we share your sentiment that Osmandi needs a replacement. As far as our involvement in such a process goes, I am sure that the Reinkalistani government could engage in dialogue with you on the matter. I am not sure if I have the authority to make such a decision. What would you say the options for such a replacement would be?"

Sadr responded “He needs to be someone who has been thoroughly investigated, someone who will take orders from us and someone who really does care for Sugogo. Of course I would much rather consult Reinkalistan’s government on this.”

Yariskavich nodded. "I understand entirely." He turned to Gorchovsky. "Comrade, please inform Turaniskidak that Sadr Al-Nasheed is requesting that the Reinkalistani government engage in seeking a replacement for Osmandi following the incidents observed." He received nothing but a brusque nod, as Gorchovsky walked off. "Is there anything else you require, your Excellency?"

”Indeed, I am preparing de facto nationalization of the oil the Theedish would not give me the cruise missiles I need, so I am going to fully implement the rule of the people’s masses and true Arab Socialism now. I know this will upset reactionaries within my own army and I may need your troops to guard the capital city alongside forces loyal to me to fight off a potential coup attempt by reactionary forces.” Sadr said “This may even be more important then the Sugogan war, which I can send plenty of disloyal forces to engage in.”

"We had accounted for the possibility of any latent Conservative impulses within your Party and army. Rest assured, you will have the full support of the Socialist Revolutionary Defense Force and the Reinkalistani State Commission in securing the position of your legitimate government." Yariskavich flashed a small, rehearsed grin.

“How many troops could perhaps stay in the capitol to fight with me should such a reactionary take-over be attempted?”

Yariskavich pondered this for a second. Carefully, he continued. "How many men would you need, from your estimates? You are probably more informed on the issue than me."

“If you are willing, maybe most of your men could stay in Tripoli? I have a strong feeling Nibal will be planning a coup with the Theedish. I have already estimated it and I will be ready to fight him.”

"This is new news to me. Such a coup could jeopardise the war effort." The gears in the Lieutenant-Colonel's hands were turning now. "Hmh, very well. The bulk of the Reinkalistani forces shall, until further order, remain in Tripoli. I will make arrangements regarding deployments with your general staff, if this is alright?"

    “That is good, Lietenant-Colonel.”

"Excellent." Gorchovsky returned, and nodded at Yariskavich, wordlessly. "Ah yes, that. Well, it has been splendid, Mr. President – but I must depart for now. Rest assured Bashriyyan socialism will not fall." He saluted, and turned away.

Earlier in 2014

Tripoli, Bashriyya

Tripoli International Airport

Later during the night, two planes would arrive to Bashriyya, out of it walked John Miller the founder of Bronze Serpent a Private Military Corporation. This man in reality was in Bashriyya for one reason and for one reason only and that reason was business. In reality he could not stand Bashriyya, he never really liked Nashid as the man always gave off something that did not feel right. However he felt a need to come to Bashriyya this time and that reason was it was a somewhat neutral point to get in contact with members of the Isfahani Hezbollah leadership. Currently Bronze Serpent had been based in Haramoun and had been training members of the Far-Right Kataeb militia in guerilla combat and enhanced interrogation methods. Which had gained the PMC some controversy among various leftist news sources who claimed that the organization was the vanguard of Capitalist oppression.
Image

A week later..................................

Bronze Serpent put out a classified looking for new additional recruits to send to support New Yama in upcoming operations in Africa. The classifieds were of considerable interest in the Afruikan nation of Dahlslande and in Sandau-Nikolsburg where many refugees from Dahlslande had fled to. However despite all of the keyboard commandos claiming they would go, only two would show up. 23 year old Inga Von Junger and Ethan Von Klerk. Ethan Von Klerk was 32 years old and had been a child soldier as a kid, Inga was an intelligence analyst for the Theedish government.

Secret Military camp

John did not arrive alone for alongside him he brought two of his company's best sniper Inga Von Junger and Ethan Von Klerk alongside at least ten of his best men. Eventually John and his mercenaries were walked onto an empty bus waiting for them. That bus would follow a long convoy of military vehicles to a location somewhere in the Bashriyyan countryside, upon arriving they would notice they had arrived to a secret training camp. They would see short Arab men practicing Nifonese marshal arts, doing target practice armed with Vz-58 assault rifles, and some even jumping through burning rings of fire. The place had a smell, the smell of combat and it was that smell of burning gasoline and gun-powder that Miller knew well and knew better then any other smell other then the scent of his mother.

John was impressed as the bus stop, all twelve of his elites got out of the bus. A drill instructor walked up to him, and to John's surprise this man was not an Arab like most of the men in the camp. This man was a Dahsland man, this man was none other then Franz Kreiger. He looked at Miller "I know you, your John Miller, you lead RavenSword yes?" Miller looked at the man and smiled "I know you too, your Franz Kruger the leader of Kommando Korps the paramilitary to the Dahlslande Ultranationalist-Seperatist Faction party, we met in the 80s, I remember you well. I will also say for your information we merged with Cole Hawker's outfit, we are now Bronze Serpent."

Franz smiled "It's been a long time Miller, you are here for something are you?" Miller smiled "I am here to try and meet with Theedish intelligence intelligence, we need someone who can broker a deal to get the Boss out." Franz said "You don't mean our old buddy Gregory Sears?" Miller smiled "I mean Gregory Sears."

Franz said "Khairallah considers him Persona Non Grata, they view him as a threat to their national security and a man who knows too much about their arms deals, word on the street is they want to keep him. "

Miller adjusted his sun-glasses and said "Well, the real question is whether Theedish can broker a deal with Aladeen, Khairallah to get him out, because frankly Sears is the only person who can give them men enough morale to fight Redshield. It will be just like the days when he ran Wild Goose International at it's time the most elite PMC of the day, after I had finished my work with the Nifonese that was the place to go for me. Sears was a true leader and I know he still is."

Kruger said "The Theedish will not just give you what you want for free. You know that don't you?"

Miller grinned "Of course."

The obvious had become clear, John Miller was here for some wetwork and he knew that Bashriyya was the place where wetwork was offered on almost constant basis. Bashriyyan intelligence, Theedish intelligence, and others used Bashriyya as a hub for hiring mercenaries with the country housing numerous PMCs. War was a dirty business and a regrettable one but somebody had to answer and nations were always looking for people willing to defend them, spy for them, kill for them. The question for Miller was when was a Just War? In Miller's case he never just fought for money, he fought for what he believed in, he fought for truth, and he fought against corruption. Miller was not just any average Dog of War, for him the normal army did was filled with bureaucracy which prevented him from taking the war to the enemy and for Miller the PMC was the perfect model for him to take the fight to the enemy without all of the bureaucracy seen in conventional armed forces.

John Miller's enemy was none other then the Globalist order led by evil men like James Redshield and Amihan Russel, the shadowy conglomerate of one-worldists whose goal was nothing less then world domination and the destruction of national sovereignty and borders. John Miller knew he could not allow these globalists to obtain their goal of world domination, if borders collapsed with one tyrant controlling everything then everyone would be equally repressed by an oppressive total state. John knew that if humanity and the natural order were to stay unharmed then the globalists had to be defeated. In order to do this he needed to get Gregory Sears out of jail, and Sears was his old buddy who had saved his life in Yughana and so in Miller's view he needed some way to pay his old friend back.

Kruger said "Well, God be with you Miller, and may your fighting always be for a righteous reason, and your war a just war!"

John smiled "Thanks Franz."

John then walked over to see Inga arguing with one of the Arabs.

"Who are you sharmouta? who the hell are you?" the Haramounean man said

Inga replied "Listen here you stupid raghead, I don't have time for your shit."

the Arab man responded "You come into this camp with no head-covering, your in a Muslim country I know these Bashriyyans they are going to rape you."

Miller walked over and said "Uh, Inga I need you."

She said "Yeah John?" she smirked.

The Arab man was confused of what was going on, he said "I do not get Westerners."

John put his hands over Inga's shoulders in an almost fatherly like way, "Now Inga, please don't pick fights with the locals here, its bad for business."

Inga replied "Oh sir, You know I value perfection."

John smiled and said "I know that Inga, and that is why I doubt you will fail me, but I am warning in case you happen to fail me. If you skrew-up this important mission. This could have a bad effect on my company and I need to maintain a professional image, so I will need you to be in constant contact with me okay? I'm making you head of intel on this one."

Inga said "You won't be disappointed sir"

General Muhammed Nashid banged his fist on his desk "You Jahsh!" he shouted in a rage.

50 of Nashid's top officers stood around the desk, one of them Samir "My Za'im, I ask you to please think things through, he is only here to meet up with the Theedish without arising too much suspicion."

Nashid said "That is easy for you to say, but we cannot have people seeing our training camps. Which camp is it?"

Samir said "It is one of the ones that the Nifonese know about, it is safe."

Nashid was clearly frustrated "Omar, Samir, Mustafa, Abdullah you stay, everyone else get out of the room and close the door behind you."

Nashid began to yell again "Miller arrived without my approval? Who let him in?''

Samir responded "My Zai'im, it is the pro-Nifonese faction of officers in our army, they are okay with him being here."

Nashid angered "What training camp was he shown?"

Samir said again "My Za'im, Miller was shown the Al-Jazzar training camp where we are training the Ultranationalists and some of the more moderate members of the Free Harmoun Army."

Nashid calmed down "I see they were not taken to the AIAI training camp, so we have nothing to worry about. However, I wish to be informed of these things ahead of time, then have them just done under my nose. You are all dismissed."

Bashriyyan Southern Command began attacking Sugogo, at least 14 more ballistic missiles were fired into Sugogo, 3 infantry brigades and 1 tank brigade in addition to the mechanized division would move in taking over towns to back up the FDNL fighters. The tanks and Bashriyyan infantry wave would boost the morale of the recently out gunned FDNL fighters, Bashriyyan reinforcements began to push back against the Sugogan military with superior Al-Baqarah main battle tanks, also coming from Southern command were C-130s which would begin dropping paratroopers to the destroyed Aqueduct site.

Near Sugogo border, 2022

The flames of the burning planes lit up the night sky, John Miller and his men shouldered their MANPADS the sight was glorious. He sent a radio communication back to Sadr "Your excellency, the operation has been a success, stars have hit the earth, repeat stars have hit the earth." Miller and his men got in the back of a truck and thence drove off.

Treason

Postby New Aeyariss » Sat Mar 19, 2022 11:43 am

The Rostovian Confederacy has co-written this post with me.

Ishikawa, Nifon: Akagi Castle, 08;25

Beginning of the day. If anything, Kojiro hated this period of time. After washing himself and going through a sword kata, he got dressed and ate his favoruite gyoza dumplings. After the breakfast he had fiftneen minutes of leisure, then he sat before desk and ordered his secretary to call the office of Osip Lukhov.

"Good day" he spoke picking the phone up.

"Slava Lukhovu! You have reached the main switchboard of the Palace of the Supreme Leader the National People's Republic of Rostovia. Who may I connect you to, foreign scu-" The switchboard operator caught himself. "-Dignitary?"

"This the Shogun of Nifon speaking" spoke Plainly Kojiro "I would request to talk to his excellency the Supreme Leader."

"One moment." There was a click followed by a tinny rendition of the national anthem. A moment later, there was another click as the line was picked up again.

"Speak."

"Greetings to you, Lukhov-san" said Maki "I am calling due to recent actions your nation undertook in the Bashriyyan issue. I come with a proposition your excellency may find intriguing."

The Vozhd laughed. "You had better do more than intriguing. We have many interests in Bashriyya."

"Your excellency" Kojiro's voice suddenly became more stern. The Shogun of Nifon already studied the psychological profile of Osip, and hence, intended to play it according to his opponent's character. Osip respected strength, so Kojiro chose to be as intimidating as possible "You may as well remember that interests of your excellency's country lie elsewhere and that Empire of Greater Nifon can provide far more than Bashriyya can. Cheap oil from Mirsk and Potomiak, military aid, mutual agreements against Krasnymirsk... all are possible. Alternative is sending your excellency's soldiers to certain death. Do not think that my offer is anything but grace."

"You forget, Kojiro, that the blood of my troops has already been spilt. Honour must be satisfied." Lukhov paused for a moment to shout at a servant to get out of his office. "You talk of grace yet you would have us withdraw like cowards from that cesspit in Afruika?" He breathed in an effort to calm himself. "We have pledged our support, to back out now would be detrimental to our foreign relations. And let us not forget, Nifon is no friend to Rostovia. Nifon and the wider world. Only the pariahs like Bashriyya are our friends and to betray them would isolate us further."

"In our world" Kojiro continued "Friends and enemies change with each day. There are no constant friends and no constant enemies. There are however constant interests. I do believe that it is within interest of Rostovia to work with Nifon right now."

He paused:

"What is, truthfully, a handful dead soldiers to all the opportunities. Your excellency's air force is probably incapable to lift itself off the ground juding by the last gunpeitai report. The Empire of Greater Nifon could provide Rostovia with armaments which no one else would be willing to sell. I do consider the sheer improvement to be worthy more... but no your excelllency, I do not recoomend your excellency withdraws your soldiers."

Kojiro grinned:

"Bashriyya at this point has sided with the international communism and the Empire of Greater Nifon would like to see that fact change. So, how about a different proposal. I shall offer your country not just cheap and oil and armaments, but a chance to be part of the grand coalition."

And here the leader of Nifon started to reveal his real plan. He wanted more than just a withdrawal:

"If your excellency's troops suddenly turn on Bashriyyan army and attack it's rear."

Miles away from Kojiro, in his office in the bowels of the Palace of the Supreme Leader, Osip Lukhov's face grew into a smile. A very wide smile, indeed. Still, he had to remain in control. What was offered was good, but perhaps he could try for a greater bounty.

"A tempting offer. Yet there is another thing that would be most pleasing to me. Nifon wields considerable influence among its peers, yes? Then perhaps Nifon could use its influence to end the sanctions against us." Lukhov paused. "The disdain of the international community has long been a thorn in our side."

"Of course, I would be willing to do so..." Kojiro said "I believe in fact that I could negotiate with Castille De Terro at least. However, it will happen only if my request is fulfilled."

"Promises can be broken," the Vozhd purred. "I would need certain guarantees to ensure that I did not throw my allies under the transporter only to be left in the cold."

"How about tomorrow I introduce to the Imperial Diet cancellation of large deal of sanctions as the collateral" the shogun of Nifon exclaimed "The rest will come after the deed is done."

"An acceptable compromise." Lukhov shuffled some papers around to find the deployment plan for Lieutenant-General Raskov's forces. "I will need approximately a week before I am in a position to do as you ask. Since you are so well informed about the state of my forces, you will no doubt be aware that we are still in the process of airlifting troops to Bashriyya. And I will need guarantees from your allies that they will refrain from striking my troops in error."

"I will inform my allies to refrain from targetting the airbase where Rostovian forces are gathered." came an answer "I will wait a week then. I sincerely hope that your excellency keeps your end of the bargain."

"To end the sanctions? Why would I betray your trust when you have offered such a great gift?" Lukhov's tone hardened. "And I sincerely hope that your excellency keeps your end of the bargain. I expect that Nasheed would be most insulted to learn that you had tried to suborn his ally. Terrorists can be so... messy."

"You misunderstood me, Lukhov-san. I was referring to your excellency's part. I will put forward a motion to abolish the sanctions tomorrow as a sign of good will. As for Nasheed, he already dug his own grave. All I need is to let him fall into it."

"Perhaps he only needs a little push." Lukhov smiled. "I will be watching your news channels closely, but rest assured that our aims will be similar from now on."

"That would be all, your excellency/" with that, Kojiro hung up, and sighed. He still had communists to negotiate with, and he personally found them far less appealing than Lukhov.

Lukhov dialled another number. "Committee? Yes. The Nifonese gunpeitai have been monitoring our military status. Deal with the problem." He hung up.

Undisclosed Airport - Wenchuan, Winter 2021

Agent Melendez held the radio in his hand, a number of other ISD agents & operators clustered around while a single M-TAG commando listened in. Save for two others, the rest of the M-Tag were watching the perimeter in case any Wenchuanese Islamist or other Bashriyyan proxy should decide the airport needed more bodies.
Those other two were riding with their Nifonese escorts, and Agent De LaTriga.
When they realized there was a survivor, virtually everything related to the impromptu investigation had ceased and the op was focused on recovering said sole survivor.

Within the hour, they had picked up radio chatter from a local Wenchuanese police station talking about a freezing, under-dressed foreign woman walking in from the streets. The response was almost immediate and swift; with a full team of Nifonese commandos rolling out to descend on said police station before any other "elements" from any warlord who might be putting money in the cops pockets.

Finally, the call came through.
"We got her. Target is alive and safe."

Boullaire Joint Command Base, Marindino Centrèle - Inyursta (Present Day)

Boullaire JCB was small, but secure military base that sat in the hillside to the northeast of Cordoba. Castille de Térro was no doubt where the brass resided and all the top head decisions were made; but it was often Boullaire where the sum of operational intelligence was shared and processed. The generals and admirales in the nations capital may decide what to do and how to do it, but the mid-level staff at Boullaire who determined what the options were and what it would take to make them happen.

A bright, well-lit room sat multiple commissioned officers, warrant officers and seasoned enlisted intel personnel. Angled windows allowed sunlight through but blocked external drone footage that would reveal any information on the screen or faces of people present. The room was noticeably dominated by the dark-blue class-A's of the Aéroforça - the Inyurstan Air Force; with a lesser amount of the olive-green of the Armiéa, the Army. Noticeably in the minority was the crisp white of the La Marina, the Navy, and down to just two men in a sharp black with red highlights was the Corps des Marinas, the Inyurstan Marines.
For a multitude of reasons, both historical and based on assets present in theater, the Bashriyya situation was seen under the responsibility and lead of the Aéroforça. Given that they had the most assets in-theater, and between the SIGINT ops and the one-sided Air Battle of Al-Gerja, it was justified.

Standing at the front of the lecture-hall-style room was a duo of Aéroforça officers and a single Armiéa officer, on the screen was an assortment of satellite image and emissions data. By now the Bashriyyan invasion of Sugogo was not an unknown fact, but right now the Inyurstan air force had the best intel of what was being sent in - or at least what was in the southern region of Bashriyya before they invaded.
"We can also definitively say that the LGMs known as the "FDNL" are receiving significant signals activity from north of the border; but because of this we cannot confirm that either Omandi or Al-Bittar are in Sugogo." One of the officers stated, clearly in mid-conversation.
"Right now, we have reason to believe that a force of at least one to two Bashriyyan divisions have pushed into Sugogo." The second air force blue continued, addressing the elephant in the room that everyone knew would dominate the discussion, but virtually no one had been surprised when it happened. What followed was then a discussion of Bashriyyan capabilities, communications frequencies and radar systems. Finally, it was the army officer who dropped the bomb that had everyone on the edge of their seat:
"If we are being realistic; the Sugogoan military will likely be driven from the northern portion of their country in anywhere from 48-96 hours from now." He said as the already "silent" room fell into a true silence, a soundless void penetrated only by the faintest echo from the chattering of tropical birds right outside one of the windows.
"However." He continued, raising a finger as a topographical map came onto the screen, and pointing his red laser to the very river which fed Lake Sugogo. "The Bhaghara River will pose significant challenges to the Bashriyyan advance, as well as advantages for the Sugogoan defenders. It must become the corridor which holds the connection between Sugogo's easternmost military units and the main body of their forces in the southwestern 2/3rds of the country.
Simply put, The Bhaghara River Corridor must become a troop sink for Bashriyya.
"

Saddaka Al-Wahdah JAB; North-Central Tifya (Present Day)

Once again arising from the more populous northern heart of Tifya, another intel operation was being launched. This time the star of the show was an ER-370 Falcon Eye Ground Surveillance Radar (GSR) bird, another sleek but sizeable child of the Colomas J-370 family. It was basically an AWECS that tracked ground targets, especially those in motion and the open plains of Northern Sugogo would present an effective field of operation for its synthetic aperture radar.

The operation was dubbed "Operation: Beachcomber" in plain English, a nod to the nature of "searching the sand"; and would consist of a two-step movement: First, a single SA/E-52 Hoatzin MALE UAV and a Nifonese-made MK-82Y "Poison Flower" MALE UAV would both scout ahead - the former using its own SIGINT equip to gauge target emissions and determine if any major radar threat to the ER-370 were present, and the later also collecting detailed reconnaissance data that would be transmitted back to base and to the GSR plane itself. A pack of 12 AC/A-20 combat aircraft, 10 AC/A-20 Crotaléa fighters equipped for air-to-air, and 2 A/E-20 Crotaléa Vibrandes ("Buzzing Rattlesnake"), would then engage all active threats, be they SAM or enemy aircraft.
Second, the ER-370 itself would move in and use its long-range ground search radar to scan and collect intel on Bashriyyan forces. It would fly in a southeastern arc cutting south from Tifya to Axumia, outside of the range of Bashriyyan SAMs. Moving in close fighter support of the GSR jet would be a trio of AC/A-83 Bocaracá light fighters, also equipped for air-to-air, ready to defend the jet against any target that should penetrate the first screen. A second SA/E-52 UAV would tail the GSR plane from a distance, keeping an eye on ground-based emissions coming from the rear-northern flank.

I can assure you our party, the Coalition Inyursta Primiéro will put forward a motion in the Legislative Assembly to remove sanctions on Rostovia; however, assuming it has support it will take several weeks to pass into law.

I would also caution against public comments about removing these sanctions, as it may likely tip off Bashriyyan or 5th International intelligence service to your intentions.

"Inyourfaceistan" refers to my player/user name, "Inyursta" is my IC name. NOT INYURSTAN. IF YOU CALL INYURSTA "INYURSTAN" THEN IT SHOWS THAT YOU CANT READ. Just refer to me as IYF or Stan.

MOB Lukhov, near the border with Sugogo, Bashriyya

The airfield that had been assigned for Rostovian use by the Bashriyyans had grown. Tents sprouted like weeds from the sand around the airstrip while wire cages filled with sand divided everything into separate compounds. The camp had grown even larger with the arrival of the first troops from the 91st Republican Guards Air Assault Division. Currently, however, Colonel Pushkin was still in charge with Lieutenant-General Viktor Raskov yet to arrive from Rostovia. The 477th had gone out on local counterinsurgency operations, a euphemism for slaughtering local tribesmen, and many of the men had gone on to trash local Bashriyyan settlements on their off-hours. Meanwhile, the men of the 91st had refused to follow orders from the commander of what they saw as a backwater and far smaller formation, content instead to mark out the space for the accommodations of their comrades who had yet to touch down in Bashriyya. The camp baked in the heat, the troops toiled and swore bitterly, lines of BMD infantry fighting vehicles gradually materialised as yet more materiel arrived, and Colonel Pushkin played golf with his staff. Lots of golf.

Misha Ivanovsky rose, looked around the tent he and his unit were assigned to and checked his watch. It was a new watch, shiny and only slightly worn. One of his men had presented it to him as a gift, ostensibly for being a great commanding officer. Misha suspected the man had merely been trying to avoid appearing before a commissar with a load of stolen contraband on his person.

"Up, comrades. We have watch duty in an hour." There was a collective groan as Misha looked around the tent again and noticed some of the platoon were absent. He also realised that his binoculars were missing for some reason. The reason became apparent when he exited the tent and found his missing troopers clustered together around his binoculars. The focus of their attention was on a large herd of goats which had for some reason manifested itself next to the runway that was being used by the Rostovian ground attack fleet as well as the constant stream of transport aircraft that were bringing supplies and reinforcements. A slightly bemused commissar was standing back from the group of soldiers.

"I have no idea what is going on," the commissar admitted as Misha approached him. "I came out and this lot were standing around, the goats were there, and I don't know if I should discipline them or just see what the hell is happening."

The two men stood and waited. There was the drone of an engine as a transport made its final approach to the runway. A distant figure appeared near the goats.

"Where did the goats come from?" Misha asked.

The commissar shrugged. "Stolen, I think. Hard to do anything about it, the Colonel is turning a blind eye to little things after..."

"The rounding errors?" Misha knew better than to say it out loud. The official version of recent events was that one of the Rostovian transports had been shot down by a surface to air missile while on approach to the airfield. This completely failed to take into account that the Rostovian forces had departed their home country with fifty Melnik-83s when there were now forty-nine, that they were down two transports instead of one, and that Third Infantry Battalion had always been one platoon smaller than the others. The troops had learned not to question this version of events after six people were shot for discussing the matter and a seventh for quibbling about the rate of fuel consumption for the aircraft fleet. Evidently, Pushkin was hoping to stave off further desertions, which never officially happened, by letting the men let off steam. This would certainly explain why the vodka and methamphetamine rations had been increased. The Rostovian military believed strongly in the use of methamphetamine as a stimulant to keep troops alert and consequently issued every soldier with bottles of the stuff.

"Yeah. The rounding errors. I'd prosecute these guys but the only thing they seem to have done is take up animal husbandry." The commissar paused. "The agricultural kind, not the sort the Bashriyyans practice."

Misha opened his mouth to reply when the distant figure suddenly charged at the goats, screaming his head off. The panicked animals broke into a trot, fleeing across the runway. Unfortunately for the goats, the incoming aircraft was also crossing the runway as it came in to land. Misha winced as the propellers of the transport made contact with the herd, spraying the cockpit with gore and turning a very large chunk of the runway bright red. To his credit, the pilot managed to control the aircraft and brought the plane to a halt before moving it into position to be unloaded. A set of bloodied tire tracks showed the plane's movements across the airstrip. The soldier responsible for the carnage ran around with his arms straight out like the wings of an aeroplane until the pilot of the goat-spattered transport appeared in the hatchway of his aircraft and screamed abuse at him. The commissar chuckled.

"I guess I need to arrest him now." The commissar strolled over towards the overly drunk soldier who was now face to face with the furious pilot. Misha sighed and noticed his men were making themselves scarce. He found them giggling uncontrollably behind a nearby tent.

"Lieutenant, did you see? We've found a way to make instant goat stew!" The soldier who said this collapsed into laughter. Misha sighed.

"Get up. We have watch duty soon so I want you sober. Or at least as sober as you can make yourselves." The troops scowled as Misha headed back into the platoon's tent to see what the rest of his men were up to. Most of them were pulling on their gear with the exception of the few who had been incapacitated by various native diseases or who were laid up with stomach cramps after an incident involving the theft of a large pot of stew from a nearby Bashriyyan village. A couple of the troops popped methamphetamine pills to perk themselves up. The platoon gathered together and set off in search of the canteen tent.

Tuareg camp, somewhere in the vicinity of MOB Lukhov, Bashriyya

The Tuaregs had no idea what hit them.

In the aftermath of the shooting down of the Rostovian transport, the troops under Colonel Pushkin's command had gone on the warpath against any suspicious-looking groups that were basing themselves in the area near the Rostovian camp. The fact that Bashriyyan intelligence had placed the blame on Tuareg militias didn't help. As the sun rose over the arid hills, a scratch force of the 477th's more unstable troops descended upon the camp set up by a small tribe who had decided that this particular spot would be perfect for their goats. The horde of drunken soldiers, hopped up on their double rations of vodka and prodigious quantities of methamphetamine, charged screaming at the Tuaregs while firing their assault rifles in a fashion which would put the Bashriyyans to shame. One of the more quick-witted Tuaregs managed to put three rounds with an ancient bolt-action rifle into a screaming Rostovian before the man ran him through with a bayonet. The dying Rostovian pulled the blade out of the corpse and turned to search for another target before his body realised that it shouldn't be standing up, what with all these holes in it that weren't there a few moments ago.

The remaining Tuaregs broke and struggled to hide among the tents as the Rostovians, fresh from brutalising the men who had tried to stand up to them, broke ranks and spread out through the camp. A soldier grabbed a screaming woman and pushed her to the floor before fumbling with his pants. He was still struggling with his belt when a commissar staggered towards him, shouted something unintelligible about polluting the purity of the Rostovian gene-pool, and staggered off again. The soldier paused and looked at the terrified woman. He shrugged, zipped up his trousers and used the butt of his rifle to smash the Tuareg's brain out of her skull. All around, the tribals were being bayoneted, bludgeoned to death, or being shot repeatedly and left to die.

When the Rostovians had run out of innocent people to butcher, the tents were set alight and all the valuables were carted off by the troops, the commissars making little effort to discipline the men. The Tuaregs' goats were herded towards the Rostovian base camp, ready to be turned into stew for the hungry troops. Soon, all that remained of the Tuaregs were ashes and a mangled corpses.

Bashriyyan village, also in the vicinity of MOB Lukhov

The Bashriyyan man dived out of the way as his vehicle careened past him, a squad of drunken Rostovians at the wheel. Elsewhere in the village, the inhabitants were being held up by armed troops while their livestock were being equally harassed. One soldier swung his boot towards a chicken that had gotten in his way and soon there was a gory version of football playing out in the middle of the village. A wandering goat was used as target practice while the village's dogs were bayoneted.

The village's women huddled together as stoned Rostovians made lewd gestures and grunted unintelligibly at them. A soldier dropped his pants and urinated up the wall of one of the buildings. Another dragged a woman behind one of the huts and, several minutes later, reappeared doing up his fly. One of the men stepped forward to defend his daughter's honour and was savagely beaten with rifle butts until he stopped moving. Rostovian troops fired bullets into the ground at the feet of an aging grandfather, forcing him to dance for their amusement. At the same time, anything of value not nailed down disappeared into pockets and backpacks as the troops swept through the village of their ally.

The wanton looting and other assorted war crimes stopped with the sudden appearance of a commissar detachment. The troops melted away, leaving smashed up vehicles, walls scrawled over with graffiti and sobbing villagers. From the smell, someone had used the village well as a latrine. The commissars paused, looked around and advanced threateningly towards the villagers.

Somewhere in northern Sugogo, near the border with Bashriyya

Nikita Vassiliev wiped the sweat from his brow and squinted into the distance. The 477th's uniforms were woefully unsuited to the climate of northern Afruika. Where most armies issued troops with BDUs, the Rostovian military equipped the front-line forces with one-piece coveralls designed to protect them from chemical and biological weapons. This was convenient for the troops when their comrades unleashed Rostovia's stockpile of sarin, weaponised anthrax and other nasty warfare agents on the battlefield, but for now it meant that the six deserters were sweltering in the heat. Vassiliev had pulled down his coverall and tied the arms around his waist to keep it from falling down. One of the others had opted to strip completely, trudging onwards in his shorts and vest. The men had been drinking their water rations more frequently than they should. Despite that, urine levels remained normal; the surplus water was merely sweated out in the Afruikan heat.

Through the heat haze and the dust, Vassiliev could make out the shape of a few buildings in the distance. "Looks like a village or something," he rasped. There was a ragged cheer from the others, voices scratching through parched mouths and dried lips. The water was running low, maybe they could top up their supplies.

The inhabitants of the village watched warily as the half-dozen men in olive drab coveralls, bar the fellow in the sweaty undershirt and grimy shorts, trudged into the little settlement. Seven or eight single-storey buildings baked in the sun around a solitary well. A handful of children peered through open doorways while the adults clustered together in the shade of a few trees that had refused to wither and die. Some of the men clutched weapons, a mix of outdated rifles and more modern assault weapons. Bashriyyan proxy attacks had made any Sugogoan wary of strangers but the men who had materialised out of the dust didn't look like Bashriyyans. For starters, they were white. Or, at least, they were white under the angry red sunburns that they had all developed.

"Options?" Yuri Menshikov clutched his rifle to his chest. Vassiliev reached over, grabbed his friend's arm and pulled it away from the weapon.

"We're trying to get away, shooting the locals won't help." Vassiliev fished in the pocket of his coverall and located the dog-eared booklet that had been given to him before they had all shipped out. "I'll try and ask for supplies. Have we got any money or something?" The deserters scrabbled in their pockets and came out with a spare Orthodox cross, half a packet of stale crackers, six bottles of methamphetamine pills, three packets of cigarettes, an engraving of Supreme Leader Lukhov's head, a disposable lighter and a grubby handful of Rostovian korona. Vassiliev pocketed the lot and approached the nearest villager.

The woman watched suspiciously as Vassiliev approached with his hands open. "Hello-" Vassiliev stopped and flicked through his booklet. The Rostovian military had handed out phrase guides to allow the troops to order around prisoners and communicate with the locals, most likely Bashriyyans in the latter case. Phrases in Rostovian were laid out next to phonetic pronunciation guides for the equivalent in the local language. After a moment's reading, Vassiliev was confident he could cobble together a fairly polite greeting. "Die, Sugogoan scum! Demand we Allies of Bashriyya request space to pitch tents in this village under occupation!" Vassiliev said.

The woman reared back in surprise. Vassiliev found himself looking at several gun barrels pointed at his chest. It occurred to him that maybe the local language wasn't entirely a one-to-one translation of individual words in Rostovian. He flicked through his booklet again. "Request we hand over your supplies Sugogoan scum?" This didn't seem to help. Vassiliev opted to hold up the booklet and smile sheepishly. The villagers looked at him suspiciously. The fact that he appeared to be insulting them while speaking in a very uncertain tone and reading from a booklet suggested to them that perhaps this strange man wasn't entirely a threat. Still, he and his comrades were armed and there was a distant plume of smoke on the horizon. That this was Vassiliev's plane was unknown to them.

"Who are you to come into our village and demand our supplies when you are the friends of our enemies?" The woman's tone was wary, but not hostile. Vassiliev looked confused.

"We am demanding cease-fire, looting enemy food stores, die?" Vassiliev gave up, pocketed the booklet and slowly drew out the wad of Rostovian currency. He pointed to himself, gestured with the money, pointed at a rusting but still functional truck parked in the village and at the well, acted out eating and then rubbing his belly, and finally pantomimed handing over the money to the woman. The woman backed away to the knot of people pointing weapons at Vassiliev and his cohorts. There was a moment of furious discussion before the woman approached him again.

"Who. Are. You." This was delivered in an insistent tone, with the woman prodding Vassiliev with each word. Guessing that she wanted to know who he and the others were, Vassiliev stomped back over to the other deserters. The villagers watched in bemusement as Vassiliev dragged the others over and whispered instructions to them.

What followed was a very dynamic performance intended to convey that they were foreigners who had been sent by their leader(portrayed by Vassiliev doing a very shouty impression of Osip Lukhov while Menshikov stood stiffly to attention before marching off in an exaggerated goose-step) to support Bashriyya in the current crisis. The Rostovians pantomimed the oppressive nature of their regime(with Vassiliev doing his Osip Lukhov impression again while two of the others dragged Menshikov backwards to convey the arresting of dissidents) and acted out their attempt to flee from their countrymen(by sticking their arms out like aeroplane wings and making engine noises). By the time they finished, the villagers were laughing uncontrollably and had become convinced that the strange men weren't seriously trying to take over the village. With the weapons lowered, the mood became more light-hearted. Vassiliev mimed drinking from his empty canteen and gestured towards the well. In a few moments, the Rostovians were slaking their thirst and the villagers were handing them little bits of food.

The carefree mood was spoiled irreparably as something exploded in the distance and, unbeknownst to everyone in the village, the Bashriyyan invasion began. There was panic among the villagers as they melted away, fleeing for their lives in case the Bashriyyans came and killed them all. Vassiliev sighed.

"Waste of time, that was. Fun, though." Menshikov looked around. The villagers had left their truck. "Shame to waste all this stuff."

"I guess we may as well grab everything we can. That didn't sound good." Vassiliev checked the truck and found the key in the ignition. The other deserters hurriedly gathered up all the supplies they could find and loaded them into the truck bed. The men climbed into the truck, Vassiliev gunned the engine and they sped off in a cloud of dust.

A moment later, the truck reversed at speed back into the village. Vassiliev leaned out of the vehicle and wedged the stack of korona between the bricks that made up the well. The truck sped off again.

Situation Room, Royal Citadel
Aragon, D.C., Royal Palmyrian Commonwealth

Sarah Schachner - Picadilly Circus

"The situation has gone from bad to worse, iyong kamahalan." CSAFP spoke with a dreary and gloomy voice as he summarised the developments in Sugogo so far.

The Lakambini pondered for a while as she read through the report given to her by the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the Armed Forces of Palmyrion. Bashriyyans have destroyed the aqueduct with a missile strike, scoring them a PR victory. Al-Gerja is functionally disabled after the strike and is thus unable to receive and sustain an entire division of Palmyrian airborne troops and fighters, leaving the next option to be an airfield further west: Bula AB. It is most certain that plans to deploy troops in-country have been altered significantly by this development, and now they have to land on the capital airbase before offloading further in Bula AB, with one airlift wing consisting of Hinazurus and one wing of Kamomes taking charge of tactical airlifts, and the 725th Air Mobility Wing taking charge of international strategic airlift between Palmyrion and Sugogo.

"Troops are already on their way to Sugogo, and I place great confidence in their ability to fight the Bashriyyans." The Army Chief of Staff said to a pensively thinking Lakambini as she thought of the proper way to react to things. She's pretty sure that airborne forces are now en route to the Sugogian capital for offloading and consequent transport to Bula AB.

Skies over the South Furukawan Sea, Winter 2021

Marcelina, the sole survivor of Flight NY-4284 and the Winter Airport Massacre, was once again on a plane over the SFS; though this time it was a streamlined black luxury jet employed by the ISD inbound for the true safety of Nifonese air space. On board with her were both Agent Melendez and Agent De la Triga.
She had a blanket over either shoulder with her feet in a tub of warm water, with a cup of hot cocoa - the rich, thick Inyurstan variety, not that cheap western powdered shit.
"I'm ready to talk." She stated, making her voice loud enough to reach both agents.
"You have all the time in the world, Marcelina. You don't have to talk now, only when you're ready."
"I'm ready now..." She reaffirmed.

Melendez grabbed a recording device while De la Triga moved to physically comfort her as she began speaking. Marcelina started with the approximate time the plane began having mechanical issues, to the detour to the closest airport in Wenchuan, to the take-over in the terminal, and eventually on to Al-Faisal and Al-Abub, and ultimately what the later had planned for her.
Within the hour Basil Al-Abub went from a relative non-priority side show in the Inyurstan intel radar to the next public enemy #1, a target to surpass even the likes of Alastair Moriarty, Aoife Brighteye, Amihan Russel and whichever inbred boomer was in charge of the Redshield dynasty this week.

But the military-intelligence apparatus of La Républiqua D'Inyursta was not stupid. No, all memes about "akychually he's from haramoun!" be damned, his place of birth unimportant; they knew who raised him into the man he is today, taught him all he knew, and ultimately wound him up and let him loose on Inyurstan men, women and children alike.
Basil Al-Abub may be public enemy #1; but Bashriyya is responsible for getting him there.

Northern Sugogo, Present Day

Caught completely flat-footed, the Sugogoan Army units in the north were in no position to frontally contest the Bashriyyan offensive. While they were mobilized and ready to fight, they were unable to mount any standing defense against waves of armor coming across the wide open desert plains.
This issue was most prominent and most unfortunate in the western shore of Lake Sugogo near the border, where the infantry in the middle of a COIN operation was faced with a sudden onslaught of state armed forces. Forward units were overrun almost instantly, with most choosing to fight to the death and many electing to save the last bullet for themselves rather than being captured by the Bashriyyans and "FDNL", who's violent atrocities they had witnessed firsthand. Casualties in the eastern military district were estimated to be in the low hundreds, roughly 200-450 in the opening hours of the Bashriyyan offensive, while casualties on the western shore were far greater, peaking over 1,000 and multiple armored vehicles destroyed.

Across the northern front, units were racing to the rear and backpedalling down highways and dusty desert roads alike trying to reach defensible ground. The cities of Ojagala on the eastern shore of Lake Sugogo and Bhaghara City where the river met the lake were the two largest single points of retreat, each receiving at least a full infantry brigade falling back into them and attempting to set up short-term fortifications as quickly as possible. A full scale evacuation of civilians on such short-term notice was an option off the table, so the Sugogoan Army had to at least stall the Bashriyyan blitz with urban combat as long as possible.
Elsewhere, the Sugogoan Army was retreating to the Bhaghara River basin, in hopes of defending the vital corridor from the invaders.

However, not all was in depressing retreat. In the east, Ndenwa Air Base launched all six of its Super Kyofus. Four would be armed for air-to-air, and the two remaining would retreat along the mountainous border with Nywatia to reinforce air bases further in the south. Two would race towards the area of the aqueduct and attempt to intercept the Bashriyyan transports before they could drop their payload, whatever that may be.
While their short-range Fireball-II missiles meant that the Super Kyofu's had to get within visual range of the cargo planes, they had the advantage of a relatively short distance between the fringe eastern region and the trajectory of the bulky enemy planes, paired with their own ability to jump to supersonic speeds, putting them in position to threaten the Bashriyyan C-130's in minutes.

The last two would move in support of six Sugugoan attack helicopters, early-model Nifonese KB-17 helicopters from the 80's. Their goal was to both hit Bashriyyan tanks with their GPM-T anti-tank missiles, and cover retreating forces with their 68mm rockets and autocannons.
In the face of a likely Bashriyyan assault repeating the situation at Al-Gerja, the Sugogoans of Ndenwa figured they had little to loose in deploying all aircraft at once in an attempt to turn the tide of the invasion.

Sugogoan-Tifyan Border Region, Present Day

Shattered was the remote serenity of the arid plains and semi-arid grasslands of the border region; as hundreds to thousands of civilian refugees and quiet deserters alike made for the safety of the border with Tifya. Given what had occurred in the northwestern shore of Lake Sugogo prior to the open and direct invasion, not a soul wanted to find themselves caught behind Bashriyyan lines when the raping and killing commenced.
Of course, Commander Akinyemi as ready to exploit the situation, having his men assist the refugees in setting up camp on dubious sections of the border, wherein the wide undeveloped areas showed no distinct geographic sign who exactly owned which piece of desert or savanna. The Lords of the Wind were not exactly assisting with the infant-yet-growing refugee crisis out of the pure goodness of their hearts, but rather as a pool of potential soldiers and a source of internalized propaganda and morale outreach among Sugogoans.

"Sarillo" had gotten his people to send in a handful of Christian missionaries and charity workers to assist with Abaeze Akinyemi's refugee camps. In effect, it was another more legitimate excuse to smuggle non-lethal aid such as food and medical supplies - a cut of which would all end up being used to feed LotW militiamen and treat any causalities they might incur. That and should any Bashriyyan munition hit an Inyurstan Christian missionary, well it just added another level of anti-Bashriyyan fervor to support the coming war effort.
Double with the fact that they were all "playing dumb" with the border at the moment, and any Bashriyyan attempts to clear the camps might also become an accidental incursion into Tifya.

Gracio, Inyursta; Present Day

A beating heart of both the Inyurstan maritime industry and sea-based war machine alike, Gracio was arguably the third most strategic city in Inyursta. Named for the calm waters of Bayo Gracio, an inlet of the larger Bayo de Sant Marcos, yet with deep water running up the limestone karst shores and only a limited amount of tidal mangrove swamp input, it was the perfect port. The city itself was a classic post-colonial baroque cityscape, and the shoddily-repaired bullet holes tell of the locality's violent past; for it was here that one of the bloodiest battles of the Inyurstan Civil War was fought, it was here that Pierre DeCalero rose to fame, it was here that the Soviet-backed leftist regime's lifeline to the outside world was severed.
Now it remained a vital organ to pump that same lifeblood of Inyurstan trade and naval strength abroad.

Two 50,000 ton RORO ships and four smaller strategic support vessels would load up with enough armored vehicles, military trucks and "dry equipment" to move an entire armored brigade plus sustainment and resupply. Despite the slower speed such large vessels would take to cross oceans, it would still be faster and more fuel-efficient to move all those vehicles at once than trying to fly them in four-at-a-time via cargo planes.
Because it would take days to load all of the equipment onto the ships, and cloud cover was unreliable, there was a chance of satellite detection. Smaller, faster units had the ability to move and redeploy rapidly, making imaging sat data useless by the time it was fully downloaded and properly analyzed; but in the case of these larger slower ships that would take weeks to deploy the situation was much more vulnerable. However, to remedy the issue the Inyurstan Navy would use "variable geometry" tarps running from the waterline to the center of the ship painted to look like water and parts of different ships in order to confuse any prying imaging satellites. Meanwhile, Crízamèl-M jamming systems at Bayo Gracio would make the job of any low-orbit radar satellite a complete mess. To avoid making it look like something is going on down in Gracio, jamming systems would also activate at the major military installations of Mesa Alta, Porté Ramos, Boullaire JCB, Sangrino, Sierra Brava and La Pula, which were also deciding to fuck with any LEO radar sat (and by proxy SIGINT sats) that would come to pass over Inyursta during while they were loading ground vehicles.

There was a final aspect of deception which could apply to this sealift: "clandestine stealth". Clandestine Stealth, as the Inyurstan military types would call it, was a form of mimicry where an active vessel (or vehicle or aircraft) would mimic the markings, shape and travel patterns of a civilian vessel. In the case of the large RORO ships this was simple, as they were functionally civilian transport vessels temporarily contracted into moving a shitload of tanks and roc-arty to Afruika. The smaller strategic support vessels would travel under the escort of an Inyurstan Caracara-class air-defense destroyer and two Roucharde-class anti-submarine frigates, while the RORO's would travel in civilian shipping lanes mixed in among the usual traffic.

Right now the Inyurstans were concerned with getting the ships loaded up and moving out, as time was of the essence a destination could be negotiated by Castille en-route.

To: Foreign Ministry of the Sovereign State of Sego
Republic of Tifya;

CC: Antonia DeLoroza, Chief of Staff; Grande-Admiràle Ronaldo Jus-Pascal, Inyurstan Navy

Greetings Esteemed Colleague,

It is with an open hand and a hope for a productive venture that I approach you now. As you are most certainly aware we are currently embroiled in the opening stages of a long-term campaign to protect Tifya and Sugogo from the direct and imminent threat of Bashriyyan imperialist aggression - as evidenced by a direct conquest-driven invasion and open, unhidden desire to take water resources belonging to Sugogo.
However, I do not write this communication to drivel on about ideological or geopolitical reasons for war; instead I am writing for business purposes. Due to Sugogo's landlocked status and limited aerial infrastructure, it would be in our best interest to use your facilities as a temporary - and I reiterate temporary - landing zone to enter Sugogo.

In exchange for this service we are ready to offer:
1) A complete abolition of all tariffs and duties on Segoan products sold in Inyursta
2) Listing Sego as a Strategic Partner, ensuring some level of Inyurstan military support in any future defensive endeavor your country may partake in
3) An "administrative service stipend" to the sum of roughly Y$160mil ($100mil USD) to be divided among necessary individuals in your nation's leadership
4) Use of Inyurstan port facilities, albeit still under tight security protocols, for your merchant marine and naval forces should they find themselves venturing into La América Libré.
5) Additionally, Inyurstan personnel travelling through Sego to Sugogo will be likely to spend money on food and other trinkets as they pass through, providing a boost to your economy, especially in internal regions.

Further, we are open to negotiation on these terms and any others for which your government might request. I also personally promise that all Inyurstan military personnel will leave Sego by the time the conflict is over, though realistically our forces will be out of your country long before then once a stable base of operations is secured in Sugogo.

I thank your for your time and truly hope we can come to a mutually beneficial deal!

Signed:
- Secrétaire D'Éstat Françisco Ardonez

North-Central Tifya, Present Day

General Castéllyano, the current operational commander in the North Afruikan Theater, and his staff had requested the deployment of an additional armored brigade and two "independent desert ops battalions" - smaller maneuver formations for quicker deployment. The situation was heating up quickly, and in order to even think about participating in the war the Inyurstans would have to build up their presence and build it fast.
The brass back in Castille de Térro had "tentatively" approved his request, which meant they would begin deploying the requested troops first, and ask for permission after the first JC-800 transport was already wheels-up to save time. After all, it was better to get chewed out for jumping the gun and sending reinforcements too early than to resign in disgrace for sending reinforcements too late...

Bashriyyan-Sugogan border

Epic music
Image

Bashriyyan troops at the border

First wave was in its full onslaught Bashriyyan tanks and infantry began chasing the Sugogans back and backing up FDNL insurgent forces. It was appearing as if Sugogan forces were fleeing South and West, They would be heavily pummeled by artillery, especially rocket artillery which would begin pounding Sugogan forces and also unintentionally hitting civilian areas. Bashriyyan Al-Baraqah tanks leading the charge in full might and mechanized power. Artillery focused on the South, while the tanks were to advance to the roads to get to the capital.

Bashriyyan commando units were given strict orders, no blacks were to be kept alive and massive executions of Sugogans were being done by Bashriyya's special forces units when they enterered a village. Men, women and children no one was spared by the Bashriyyan troops who machine gunned and flame throwered everyone they saw, others being hacked to death with Scimitars and machetes, Colonel Nibal gave them strict orders on certain villages "We are going to paint the blacks red in their own blood and then repaint their villages tan, these lands will be Bashriyyan lands now." via highly encrypted communications. The Bashriyyan Commandos were an elite unit that was involved in terrorism across Wenchuan, Potomiak, Haramoun and Filistiniyya led by Colonel Nibal they were from Northern Command but had arrived with the Central First wave with the goal of using brutality and terrorism to break the will of the Sugogan population, a set number of villages were to targetted and ethnically cleansed.

Bashriyyan troops had their eyes on more then just villages their goal was to take the Sugogan capitol and after a few more days of fighting, Bashriyyans troops had prime confidence that Sugogo's capitol would be plundered. Sadr wanted to cut the head of the snake and leave the Sugogan government in disrepair, he would make blacks pay for disobeying their rightful masters in the region. The artillery bombardments would continue, with a a total of two ballistic missiles being fired at the capitol city equipped with conventional warheads.

In the skies the Bashriyyan paratroopers were wiped out, and very few managed to jump out before their planes were shotdown.

A total of 12 Bashriyyan pilots had ejected from their planes in various locations near the Sugogo Bashriyyan border, Mustafa Faisal cocked his Browning High-Power he had no idea where the other pilots were as it had been days since they were shot-down and now he could see explosions in the distance.

1603H LOCAL
N'Djima Airfield and Kano Airport, Sugogo
Robert Slump - Flash Point

N'Djima and Kano Airports were packed to the brim with activity as Ryusei after Ryusei of the 725th Air Mobility Wing landed and took-off, each bringing a load of Palmyrian troops mustered for quickly responding to the Bashriyyan invasion of Sugogo. The 728th Airborne Division landed in N'Djima AFB while the 133rd Infantry Division landed in Kano Airport, fresh and ready to fight the Bashriyyan horde as it swept through Sugogo. The Bashriyyans have taken the lake, and are closing fast unto the capital - but the Palmyrians would make sure that the Bashriyyan advance would be put to a halt, and regain the momentum to regain the lake.

Coming with the 728th to N'Djima was the 435th Independent Artillery Regiment, which would provide copious amounts of artillery, and two squadrons (one MRF, one ASF) of the 26th Tactical Fighter Wing, with the other two squadrons of the 26th TFW (one MRF, one ASF) landing at Kano Airport alongside the 133rd Infantry Division. The entire initial force would spend 12 hours servicing and resting after the long trip before finally embarking out to fight the Bashriyyan advance.

While they were at that, the AFP would coordinate with Griffin-Krugman forces in-country, notably for ISR support (on top of organic AFP ISR support brought with them), and coordination between Palmyrian SF and advisers and GK PMC troopers holding out in Al-Behaira and Bhaghara. Palmyrian SF and GK PMC troopers would then attempt to link up with Al-Behaira through the lake via boat, while conducting hit-and-run strikes on Bashriyyan supply convoys and their general rear by using the lake as a natural highway.

The 26th TFW's component squadrons begin conducting airstrikes against Bashriyyan armoured columns, with MRFs being outfitted for air-to-ground attack roles, and ASFs outfitted for air-to-air escort duties protecting the MRFs. The 101st (MRF) and 102nd (ASF) squadrons in N'Djima and the 103rd (MRF) and 104th (ASF) squadrons in Kano take turns conducting sorties against Bashriyyan forces, placing priority on armour and counter-battery radars.

0358H LOCAL D+1
The 728th Inf Div begin their rush towards Abujago to link up with retreating Sugogian forces and help alleviate the besieged town, and prepare for a counter-offensive. The 133rd Inf Div make a literal run for the mountains as they push north-northeast into a winding mountain pass, along which they would then set up an FOB from which they would operate, striking at the Bashriyyans from the safety of the mountains.

Among the first priorities of the 728th Infantry Division once they arrived at Abujago would be to secure the Abujago airfield and render it operational in support of the eventual defence of Abujago against the oncoming Bashriyyan horde, and for the counter-offensive further down the line.

Meanwhile, the 435th Independent Arty Rgt would travel to N'Bashu, and would emplace there for the time being, ready to bombard the Bashriyyan advance should they rush further south in an attempt to rush for the capital, and under the protective cover of the mountains and the 133rd Inf Div.

*** A few days earlier

Now the time had come to call the government of Axumia. Tokugawa slowly picked up her phone and dialled the number to her Axumian equivalent.

On the other side of the line, the equivalent did pick up the phone. His name was Gideon Mekonnen, an ethnic Habesha with party connections and a lot of ethnicity related nepotism got him into the position of Minister of Foreign affairs.

"Greetings, good afternoon. To what may I owe the pleasure of assisting with?" The minister said with enthusiasm and a hint of kindness in his voice. He knew it was his Nifonese equivalent and decided to be respectful.

"This is Tokugawa Asuka, the external relations minister of the Empire of Greater Nifon" she said "I am calling on an official business. The empire of Greater Nifon is preparing an operation to punish Bashriya for it's recent actions, and would like to use Axumia as a staging ground for the invasion."

"Ah.... I see..." The Axumian equivalent thought. Robert was already making a move with the folks from Inyursta. Could Axumia afford to house another foreign military?

He thought and thought for a clear moment.

"I don't think it's a problem as long as it's temporary and paid for with the right tribute, in case the Bashriyyans decide to intact retribution against our people as they always yearn to do." Gideon recalled the Bashriyyan rivalry with his nation.

"Payment is not a problem." replied Tokugawa "And it is in our mutual interest to see Bashriyyan capailities to harm Axumia removed."

"I can spare you some land near the Bashriyyan border. Not far from the position of the border guards but farther enough to not cause them any trouble." Gideon replied as well.

"If I may I would request the staging areas to be at least 300km from the border in order to avoid Bashriyyan indirect fire."

"Hmm... I suppose I can grant you that. There ia a town called Mosate-Selao. Nearby there is an abandoned airbase that could be returned to service with minimal expenditure."

"The offer if accepted. The Empire of Greater Nifon will of course properly pay for the lease."

With that, the negotiations were concluded. Few days later, official SOFA agreement was signed, marking the beginning of Nifonese intervention in Sugogo.

*** International Markets

The action was on. The destabilisation of Bashriyyan currency, large stocks of which were in Nifonese hands, was given a go. Due to war and possible regime change, investors were already scared. All they needed was a push to make them move.

That push came from the Nifonese investors owning Bashriyyan currency.

In one massive tide, a colossal sell-out of Bashriyyan currency begun, the money being exchanged to Ryo. Other investors would quickly notice and, due to war panic, would start following the actions of the Nifonese.

By evening, Dinar would cost a fraction of it's original worth, creating millions of damage, panic among Bashriyyan citizens, and leaving the government forced to adjust.

*** Mosate-Selao

The first units to arrive was a Nifonese engineering battalion. It quickly left it's large planes parked on the runaway and started to work. Within a certain time, the base would be ready to accept the fighters. Luckily, the base was in a relaively stable condition and only minor adjustments were necessary. As they worked, an air defense battalion would arrive to protect the base from enemy aircraft.

Then, the aircraft themselves would start coming in. They would begin their flight from Nifon, flying with aibrone refuelling to Potomiak; refuel there, then to Palmyrion - and cross the ocean with aerial refuelling, only to land on the runway in Axumia. Due to presence of latest generation fighters of Reinkalistani origin, the Nifonese government chose not to pull any punches. It was going to deploy it's most elite pilots in newest fighter jets. At the same time, the large transport aircraft would be brining in the UAVs.

State Releases Sanctions, Letters of Marque and Reprisal against Bashriyya
Czarina Faraon | MM DD 2022 1:07PM Palmyrian Standard Time

  • Prohibitive tariffs to be placed on Bashriyyan fossil fuels and other exports
  • Letters of Marque and Reprisal against Bashriyan shipping to be issued starting today
  • Lakambini threatens another round of sanctions should Bashriyya not withdraw

ARAGON, D.C., PALMYRION | Chancellor Duterte has approved of a round of sanctions against Bashriyya in light of Bashriyya's invasion of Sugogo, a round of sanctions that includes "prohibitive" tariffs on Bashriyyan fossil fuels and other exports, total prohibition of Palmyrion-based financial institutions from participating in the primary market for new issuances of Bashriyyan sovereign debt, and a mandatory and colossal sell-out of the Bashriyyan Dinar.

"We cannot allow Bashriyya to invade Sugogo and get away with it unharmed." remarked the Chancellor in a press release released by the Office of the Chancellor of the Palmyrian Royal Commonwealth. "As our troops help Sugogo repel the Bashriyyan horde's rampage, so shall we act in hitting them where it hurts the most, for it is said that an army marches on its stomach." the press release further continued, alluding to the famous quote by French general Napoleon Bonaparte.

Palmyrian economists foresee a major rise in goods over the next few weeks resulting mainly from the astronomically-high tariffs imposed on Bashriyyan fossil fuels and exports, with some suggesting that the price increases be implemented incrementally.

The state has also started the issuance of Letters of Marque and Reprisal against Bashriyyan shipping, calling for interested parties to avail of these letters so "they can partake in the fight against Bashriyyan aggression" at their own will. The terms and conditions for the issuance of Letters of Marque and Reprisal include allowing privateer crews to own any vessels that they successfully seize, and complete and total immunity from Palmyrian legal and military action when acting under an Authorisation of Marque and Reprisal against Bashriyyan ships in Palmyrian terrritorial waters.

The sanctions and the validity of the Letters of Marque and Reprisal will last "until the Bashriyyan invasion has been repelled", the Chancellor's press release adds.

N'Djima Airfield and Kano Airport, Sugogo
Robert Slump - Flash Point

The second wave of reinforcements had arrived, this time the 83rd Hunter-Killer Wing and the 175th Strategic Air Defence Regiment, which was planned to be followed by two Marine Strike Regiments come afternoon.

The 83rd HKW consisted of two 12-strong squadrons of CAS aircraft, and two 12-strong squadrons of Shiragiku MALE UAVs, with Shiragikus in an armed reconnaissance role acting as the hunters and the CAS aircraft acting as killers acting on the targeting data given to them by the UAVs. 83HKW would be split between N'Djima and Kano airfields, with each airfield housing one UAV squadron and one CAS squadron. They would work in concert with the 26th TFW in sorties, complementing each other's strengths and covering for each other's shortcomings; while the ASFs and the MRFs of the 26th TFW had the range and speed, they lacked the loiter time needed for persistent CAS duties. The 83rd HKW would be foreseen to free up more of the 26th TFW from CAS duties, allowing 26th TFW to dedicate more of its fast-movers for sorties deeper into the Bashriyyan horde on top of air-to-air escort duties for 83rd HKW sorties.

The 15th Strategic Air Defence Regiment was deployed in light of the tactical ballistic missile attack on the Sugogian aqueduct, which utterly destroyed huge portions of the aqueduct and denying Sugogians of water from the lake. While air defence against Bashoid airstrikes was provided for by the air defence units and assets organic to the infantry divisions, defence against future TBM attacks was lacking, thus necessitating the need to deploy an entire Strategic Air Defence Regiment. The 15th SADR consisted of 3 battalions of ADA.105 "Obsidian" Theater Area Air Defence missile batteries, each battalion consisting of nine launchers (4 missiles each, for a total of 36 missiles) and a command post. The entry of the 15th SADR would signify a major development in the war following a devastating TBM strike on the aqueduct, one that would confirm Palmyrion's decision to dedicate resources into fighting the Bashriyyan horde.

Meanwhile, back in the Palmyrian mainland, preparations were made for the deployment of the 3rd Marine Expeditionary Brigade, a 15,000-strong force of Marines fully equipped for independent high-tempo operations in an active warzone like Sugogo. For the meantime, the N'Djima airfield would be closed off to the deployment of other Palmyrian units and will be dedicated solely for the piecemeal deployment of the 3rd MEB, especially now that it consisted of assets heavier than what the two infantry divisions could bear, while allowing for routine supply airlifts for other already-deployed units.

This wasn't just a war; this was already a crucible for Palmyrion's military power projection capability. The Palmyrian military wasn't straining yet, and this wasn't its first deployment since its invasion of Leidenschaftlische in the 60s (that would be Bagongo), but this was so far the largest scale deployment of troops that Palmyrion pulled off since then.

And the Royal Commonwealth, now under the command of a monarch with strong superpower ambitions that would take all but the most determined of efforts to extinguish, would make sure she secured her status as one of the world's rising powers.

*** Axumia

The Nifonese jets were touching the place, and finally, their readiness to engage in combat would soon be announced. They were placed under large, concentrate hubs to prevent from eventual Bashriyyan retaliation as Nifonese soldiers ran like ants to prepare for deployment.

Additional forces were being sent, this time to land in Bolrieg; 109th Bomber regiment, equipped in giant, Hulking Gingas, backed up by six aircraft from the 91th. Alongside them would land a transport wing of 12 medium air lifters, and six UAV converted transport jets. 10th UAV regiment (10 Aircraft) would also be redirected to Bolrieg.

In the morning sun, first Nifonese Combat air patrol in the region, honour given to four Shusuis of 58th Fighter Regiment,

Undisclosed Location - Tifya

Operation: Beachcomber, the armed intel maneuver to gather accurate, real-time data on the movements of Bashriyyan forces into Sugogo had been a huge success. L'Aéroforça D'Inyursta was now sitting on fairly accurate synthetic aperture radar (SAR) data for hundreds of ground vehicles moving across the open desert, and even a good deal of drone-provided SIGINT & infrared/electro-optical data to accompany it.
Only with this critical information could the best possible decisions be made about who to hit, where they are, how to hit them and what to hit them with. Such information gave the Inyurstans a massive advantage, and to best win the war this information would need to be shared among the pro-Sugogoan alliance.

Image

And now, it was with this diverse treasure trove of collected intel that L'Aéroforça D'Inyursta would launch their next play:
Operatíon: Usurpéro Siracco ("Usurper Sirocco")
Unlike the previous two one-and-done missions, Usurpéro Siracco would be a part of a longer air campaign against the Bashriyyan forces in Sugogo. The Inyurstans had the intel, and now it was time to level the playing field by using it.
The first target of Usurpéro Siracco (Phase I) was the Bashriyyan armored brigade leading the assault into Sugogo.

To do this, six AC/A-83 Bocaracá ("Palm Viper") light multirole fighters were sent in from an airbase in southern Tifya. Arranged into three pairs of two, one aircraft would be kitted with a pair of 1000lb smart cluster bombs, the other with a combination of ASM-7 STRIKE missiles and 500lb bombs that dispensed anti-tank minelets.
The lead Bocaracá in each pair would be carrying the 1000lb CBU-S Torencón (a.k.a. "Bat Cave Bomb") bombs, and they would drop both bombs from approximately 8,000m altitude, outside the range of most MANPADS and AAA. While doing so, they would also preemptively deploy flairs to cover for the tailing plane, which would have to briefly descend into MANPADS range to drop their mine-dispensing bombs, also popping flares on the way down. By deploying flares in anticipation of a launch, the aircraft would fill the sky full of false targets making it harder for the user of a passive infrared system (i.e. most MANPADS) to know which target they had locked onto and easier to throw the seeker because even a smarter seeker is only effective if it "saw" the original, true target. This compounded with the fact that in a "dive" the AC/A-83's single engine would be facing away from the (expected/assumed) launcher, presenting a much smaller target that is much more likely to be "lost" among the clutter caused by the slowly-falling flares.
These tree trailing fighters would drop their anti-tank mines ahead of the oncoming Bashriyyan advance, and fire their STRIKE missiles at any target of threat (e.g. AA guns, SHORADS, helicopters) or high-profile opportunity (MBTs & mobile gun systems); and then promptly pull up and break for higher altitude.

Four of the heavier AC/A-20 Crotaléas would cover the smaller Bocaracás by doing an "offensive screen", wherein they would directly penetrate air space over areas that had been taken by Bashriyya and get up in the face of enemy radar presenting themselves as the far bigger and far deadlier threat (which was admittedly true). The goal of this offensive maneuver was to draw the attention of any medium-range air defenses or nearby enemy fighters onto themselves, allowing their lighter comrades armed for air-to-ground to slip in and slip out unscathed.
A second group of AC/A-20 were geared up and fueled up on the ground back at Ramel Al-Khayb (Tifya), in case a larger quantity of Bashriyyan fighters decided to make an appearance.

Northern Sugogo

In the north, the Sugogoan Army had retreated to the area around the railroad and major East-West highway, planning to hold the towns and villages in the Bhaghara River Valley, and ideally keep the link between the center of the country and Bhaghara City alive. Sugogoans dug in with sandbags and foxholes, and prepared to turn and fight. Recoilless rifles, ATGMs and machine gun nests would greet the arab invaders as they pushed south.
The Bashriyyan blitz was only good for so many miles, and those miles had run short.

In Al-Behaira, the natives were trapped and cut off from the outside world before any serious evacuation could occur. This presented both serious advantages and disadvantages. Disadvantages being that food and medical supply would be strained to support such a large number of people present - especially when all roads in or out were cut off by the Bashriyyan forces - and that the concentration of civilians would complicate the deployment of Sugogoan troops and militia defenders. Advantages were that a trapped foe fights harder, and right now many residents of Al-Behaira were basically forced to fight in defense of their homes or else face certain death; and that the uniformed Sugogoan soldiers were now fighting directly for the citizens of their nation, to the sort of bitter end that they otherwise would not for an empty city.
Forces actually defending the city were thin, with no gun larger than 90mm recoilless rifles and 120mm mortars. Some armored vehicles were present, but no tanks; although mobile ATGM units were in the city capable of busting arab armor.

To much contrast, the evacuation and fortification of Bhaghara City was going smoothly. Civilians had to choose between the best of three bad choices: leave your things and flee into the mountains, pack up as much as you can carry and risk the road to N'Djima, or tempt fate and remain in the city in the face of a coming siege. However, this freed up units of the Sugogoan Army to prepare for a total-war defense of the strategic city.
If there was thing in Northern Sugogo that was in high abundance, it was sand.
Sandbag positions would fill the streets, key firing ports, and close up vulnerable points; intensifying the tactical advantage the defenders had. Additionally, the mountainous terrain overlooking Bhaghara - both river and city - would complicate any attempt at encirclement.

So far unopposed, the four Sugogoan attack helicopters began their assault on Bashriyyan positions along the eastern highway, laying ATGMs into tanks and rockets into lighter armored vehicles. They were armed with the Inyurstan GPM-T anti-tank missile, which was a capable weapon in the right hands, it also suffered as an air-launched ATGM in that it still relied on wire guidance, forcing the Sugogoan KB-17 helicopters to keep line-of-sight (LOS) with their target, and limiting the number of tanks they can engage at one time to just two.
Still, even the mere presence of Sugogoan air units staying alive and in the fight was a morale victory, and the ability to knock off a few armored units and litter the road with destroyed vehicles was a positive trend towards slowing the Bashriyyan blitz.

N'Djima, Central Sugogo

Despite the actual fighting on the ground being kept to the northern region of the country, the Bashriyyan ballistic missiles would make the invasion very, very real for Sugogo's ruling class. One missile would be a technical miss, landing in a parking lot some 70m away from the Ministry of Defense. Despite this being a technical miss, it still managed to kill the Deputy Commander of the Sugogoan Air Force, as well as several civilian staff who were either unfortunate enough to be in the parking lot itself or next to the nearest windows when the blast went off.
The second missile would be a direct hit on the presidential palace on the southern overlook of N'Djima. It failed to kill the president, but he was crushed under rubble and left in a serious state of injury. A handful of body guards and a palace maid were also killed or injured.

Supreme Chief General (SCG) Amandi Obiefune, a six-star general grade officer assumed command of the war effort in the president's absence. SCG Obiefune addressed his nation; declaring his intent to stay in N'Djima and leave only to visit the front lines (as opposed to fleeing the capital, or worse, the country). He also ordered Sugogo's reserve army be mobilized and called into active service. Lastly, the egostistical six-star military called the defenders of Al-Behaira and Bhaghara City the "True Heroes of Sugogo" and "Descendants of Egharevba" (the historical king who beat back the Arab invasion of central Afruika).

Image

While air traffic to Sugogo had become extremely irregular - with more out-bound flights and inbound ones - and foreign military aircraft moving into fill up space in Sugogo's limited air fields, it was easy not to notice the tiny blip on the radar of an Inyurstan CP-353A flying in pattern with civilian aircraft as it rolled into the civil side of N'Djima International. Once on the tarmac, it rolled up to a private hangar where several vehicles of the Sugogoan Air Force were waiting. From the aircraft a dark-haired Inyurstan woman with a tan polo and reflective sunglasses hopped out, while two people in the back began moving crates out to the Sugogoans.
A Sugogoan officer in sharp blue uniform stepped forward and opened one, looking at a pair of 197mm rockets with an abnormally bulky warhead.
"These will do the job, yes?"
"Can't think of any reason why they wouldn't."
"And your government is okay with this plan?"
"That's confidential." She answered.
"Well in any case, I must thank you... Miss?"
"Marcos. Agent Marcos."
The Sugogoan Air Force colonel laughed at her answer. "Do all Inyurstans share names with past presidents?"
"I neither confirm nor deny this implication."

Meanwhile, the Sugogoan Army had dispatched a QRF armored brigade and supporting independent mobile anti-tank battalion to the frontline in a bid to both "plug the gap" between two units, and to move into position to threaten any attempted assault of Abujago or N'Bashu.

"Inyourfaceistan" refers to my player/user name, "Inyursta" is my IC name. NOT INYURSTAN. IF YOU CALL INYURSTA "INYURSTAN" THEN IT SHOWS THAT YOU CANT READ. Just refer to me as IYF or Stan.

Bashriyyan special forces commandos in Sugogo

Eastern and Central Command had finally amassed near the border, the 2nd wave was about to begin its launch, assisting them would be hordes of volunteer fighters from Potomiak, Wenchuan, Haramoun, Isfahan, in addition to Tifyan exiles from the Islamic Social Movement all ready to "die for Allah" in overthrowing the "apostate government" of Sugogo. Staying back was the Republican Guard Division which was moved to the city of Tripoli to guard Sadr's power. All Rostovian troops would also be ordered to the capital city.

2nd wave arrived across the border, and then first wave advanced further South, the goal was simple the Bashriyyans wanted to take the capital and end the Sugogan government once and for all. Rocket artillery was not hitting Sugogo's key infrastructure, power lines, rail roads, schools and hospitals and the airport. The assault was in full sway Waseem al-Kaddafi laughed as he saw the flames in the distance "I love the smell of roasted monkey in the morning, smells like Jannah!" Al-Omandi and Al-Bittar sat with him less amused by his comments. "You can stop denigrating our people and lead us to victory instead?" Waseem responded "Why of course, but don't forget who controls this country and who is putting your clique back in power." the three men all gathered in a bunker watching as the artillery went off, they enjoyed fine fruit flavored Tobacco from Haramoun, and ate luxurious meals as they gave orders sending thousands of Sugogans to their deaths. A young Sugogan man was brought in by the guards and forced to get on his knees, "No sir, no, no, please let me go" Al-Omandi got up "What has this man been accused of?" the guard responded "Stealing from your coffee cellar my Sheikh. Stealing!" Omandi grabbed a butcher knife and held the boys right hand down, Bittar got excited and began filming on his cell-phone "Do it my Brother, cut his hand off, do it!" Omandi chopped the boys hand off in pure brutality as the boy let out a screech in agony and pain. "Get this monkey out of my sight!" Omandi ordered as Bittar laughed, "I will save this to watch for later, I will send it in a text to Comrade Sadr."
he laughed

2 rockets were fired at Bula AFB and two more at Ndenwa AFB, the air force bases would be continuously bombarded to prevent a Sugogan air response. Another two rockets were fired at N'Djima air force base.

Tripoli, Bashriyya

Sadr received a text, another from al-Bittar who was constantly sending new videos of Sugogans they were brutalizing a bit disturbed and sqeamish at first by the videos, Sadr gradually began to accept the fact in his view Sugogans were less the humans and one could justify all sorts of acts plus it explain al-Bittar's savage behavior since Bittar was obviously more black then Arab. Kalam walked into the room "Akhi, Good news time has come to move you out of the country for safety purposes no one will expect it should things go bad. Your wife and kids are already in Ifsahan and now it is time for you to leave the city." Sadr smiled he wrapped his face in a Keffiyeh and picked up and AKM and shouldered it "Indeed release all political prisoners from Haramoun as well, as we know the prison is right near the Quiradan border."

Oil fields

Colonel Nibal and his Commando regiment which stayed away from Northern Command and one tank brigade from Western Command in addition to one infantry Brigade from Western Command (besides the 1 tank and infantry brigade the rest of Western Command is de-jure pro-Sadr and stationed in the capitol) and 50 Fedayeen brigades from Nibal's village all gathered their plan was to do a coup de'tat against Sadr. Standing next to Colonel Nibal was Sheikh Hassan Ali al-Maliki "Allahu Akbar!" he shouted in joy, "Insha'Allah, we can take the country back from that brat in only a few days." Nibal smiled "yes my Sheikh we truly have done a mighty work for Allah!" Nibals men had gathered in the Theedish oil fields since they viewed it as a geopolitically safe location.

SOMEWHERE IN TIFYA

The afternoon was slowly fading away in the warm country of Tifya as the sun began to set in.
Night time in Tifya was a time for jackals and all types of predators to roam the desert lands free. In search for their prey, usually the carcasses that were left there since days.
Speaking of jackals however... There was another man, with a cowboy hat accompanying him. Covering whatever tattoos he had up to his neck.
He was approaching the door of an office in a small governmental building, patted down and fully searched by armed guards beforehand.
It was none other than Robert Cecil Huntley, the famed CEO of Cyclops International, a security consulting and private military company. For some reason however, he was keeping a low profile nowadays.
He knocked on the door of the office before entering.

"General Castéllyano, it is a pleasure to be meetin' you." He said enthusiastically with a smile on his face as he entered the office.
"Bona soira. To what do I owe the opportunity of seeing you in person?" the Inyurstan Aéroforça commander in charge of the theater answered, standing up from his desk to meet the man claiming to be Robert Huntley face-to-face.
"Oh... There is quite the opportunity in this whole scenario." Robert said as he got closer to the other side of the desk, motioning his hand forward for a handshake.
"Robert Huntley, CEO of Cyclops International, professionals at security consulting. I think you should have a slight idea on who we are." Robert smiles as he introduces him again. These guys... They had quite the reputation for being above all the average PMCs that are selling themselves out for every two-bit dictator with a bit of oil money. Rumor has it has deep ties with the Rhidean government, often that the CEO of it is called behind closed doors, a "municipal worker".
General Castéllyano heartily greeted the handshake, confident that this man was no threat; especially if he was who claimed he was, as mercs weren't exactly the "suicide strike" types. He was aware of Cyclops International, and while they weren't exactly considered a friendly group, they weren't exactly considered hostile either; though in any case Inyurstan military HUMINT would have a field day with him walking up on camera to talk in person, especially if it gave them something the NIS didn't.
"Májor General Louis de Sant-Domingue Castéllyano-Lavigne. I will assume you know exactly who I am, and why I am here in the brown desert and not back in the lush green hills and crystal-blue waters of my homeland, so let me ask why you are here walking into my office on this facility?"

Robert is not exactly someone who underestimates the Inyurstan capability either. He's no friend of theirs, but he's not an enemy of theirs either.
He knows what they are capable of, he is not a man that does things for no reason, especially walking up right in front of one of their top brass, in charge of an entire theatre when for that reason exactly their HUMINT could have the time of their lives.
"You're right... Either way, I'll cut to the chase since you're a busy man. I heard you folks are dealing with the Bashriyyan problem. I figured it was a right time for someone to step up and teach them a lesson in humility." Robert said so as he stared right in General Castéllyano's eyes, he was not avoiding eye contact for even a single moment. "I have a bit of a problem with them too... And so I thought. Why not to help a winning horse? We both have an interest in driving those scum back to whatever cave they came from, so why not join forces for a bit?" Robert laid down his first offer. An unlikely ally out of nowhere... Since when do mercenaries go around picking sides? A wise man would be right to think this was fishy.
"I am most certainly interested in more friends and less enemies. Given your profession, I'm assuming there is a price tag attached?"
"No, no actually..... I'd like to keep this one off-record from the transaction database you know?
This one's a bit more... Personal." Robert heaved a sigh after speaking, he adjusted his trusty cowboy hat. "Tell you what. You guys need places to pour in troops from right? I can arrange you that." Robert said as he raised his index finger slightly.
"Oh... Very, very, interesting." The general nodded. "Would you like something to drink?" He paused the conversation as he walked over to a liquor fridge. While Inyurstans were notorious potheads and alcoholics, he was also using the opportunity to mull over what Robert was saying.
"I'd pass on that for now. I'm driving later. Maybe on a different occasion." Robert told a white lie here. He'd rather not cloud his mind with alcohol, there's always a risk of him saying something he might regret later, especially under an influence. "So here's what I'm offering." Robert said as he sat down on a chair from the opposite side of the desk.
"A temporary base in Axumia. A perfect spot for troops to be going in and out... But keep in mind that if you choose to go straight for Bashriyya and cross their border, you might be openin' a Pandora's box full of diplomatic trouble." Robert continued explaining. Axumia was the perfect spot for moving troops. You could attack Bashriyya straight from there or cross them to Sugogo. But unfortunately, the Axumian-Bashriyyan border was surrounded by a natural border full of mountains, highlands and tropical forests. Thus being the main reason why Bashriyya was unable to invade Axumia for quite some time now.

General Castéllyano poured himself a glass of smooth honey bourbon, with three solid ice cubes in the center of his cup as he listened to the proposal. Being an air force officer himself, the idea of a base in Axumia was particularly appealing, especially given it would allow Inyursta to fight a two-front air war and had the added bonus of mountainous terrain to drastically increase the radar horizon of non-stealth aircraft attempting to penetrate Bashriyyan air space without being detected.
He took a sip of the thick liquor, washing back the heavy "bite" to leave a savory-sweet lingering taste in his mouth while he mentally digested what Robert was suggesting; though he was personally still unable to figure out the mercenary's game in all this.
"And on behalf of who do you offer this base, Mr. Huntley? Forgive me for being direct, but most governments don't send men of your occupation to conduct diplomacy over concerns such as this..."

"On behalf of like-minded folks like you and I, that have a disdain for the Bashriyyan sense of recklessness as well. Don't worry about it, you'll get no trouble there." Robert was as vague as ever. If there is one thing people rumored him as was being nothing more than a government stoolie, thus earning him the nickname "municipal worker".
Now it was all up to the General.... Should he listen to this mercenary or should he play it safe?
High risk, high reward.
Robert kept a poker face, he didn't want to express his intentions way too much. There was a reason he was really good at Texas Hold'Em.
It was all up to the General to make a decision.

"I will talk to my people, but I also can't make any deals until they approve of it.
They are less likely to approve of it if I can't provide details." The General had to explain.
Unlike mercs, actual uniformed forces had to go through chains of command which ultimately found themselves in the halls of civilian officials and oversight committees.

"Ah yes.... Bureaucracy... Passin' it up to a whole beeline of people." The CEO sarcastically spoke. How he missed the idea of having to be dependant on someone's approval... Although there were times were he had to ask for permission, he mostly is independent in most of the operations."Look. There is not much to think about. The location I can spare you is near a town called Pala, pretty close to the border. Surrounded by mountains, forests and all that type of stuff... It's away from any unnecessary attention.I'd take it if I were you. You'd want another spot to pour in troops and equipment from.
Does that meet your criteria of details?" Robert explained as he placed his elbows on the table. He understood that he is but a simple military-man, but he didn't like it when things don't go his way.

"Me personally, yes. Of course it meets my criteria. I'm already sold." The General held his bourbon up and nodded his head at huntley.
Louis Castéllyano was a simple military man, an air force powerhead to boot. Quite honestly, had he been the one tasked with overseeing the bomber operation that took out 2/3rds of Lolloh's nuclear arsenal in a single night instead of the nameless CAS operations against number-spam zergrush human tidal-wave attacks numbers 23 through 37, then he would probably be among those in Castille de Térro pitching strategic troop deployments and "lethal geopolitics" to the elected suit-and-ties.
"However, I must explain that those I answer to are less interested in what as much as who. The why can be bullshitted, and the when & how is fortunately my prerogative. But before any deal can be made we still need to know who is making this offer..."

"Pass 'em my name and Solomon Legesse's name." Robert nonchalantly said as he leaned back on his chair. Very laid back for someone who just namedropped the Axumian Chief of General Staff like it was nothing.
It'll make the suits very happy to know that they'll have new people interested in a partnership in the region at least.
But this conversation does bring some pleasant memories to Robert of his humble beginnings... Still a young officer, running around with paperwork and reporting every movement he made because the brass had him by the balls.
That's how everyone starts their way. Humble and young.
"Ahhhh. Now that's something I can work with! Mr. Huntley, I am confident we have a deal."
"One last thing I have to say..." Robert raised his index finger suddenly. "I am sending some of my people to Sugogo too. I am not expecting friendly fire from your side, if you catch my drift."

"We will have to work something out... I would advise you to stay clear of any and all Bashrab positions, but unfortunately I don't think that's a reasonable request given your occupation..." General Castéllyano answered and he sighed and looked up.
"On the other hand, you might be pleased to know my government will be releasing a number of eh... "lucrative contracts" regarding Bashrab criminals and their enablers..." He said, speaking of the literal bounties the NIS and Inyurstan armed forces were in the works of slapping on Bashriyyan officials and their collaborators.

"We won't interfere with your operations that's for sure." Robert put both of his hands up for a moment.
However... At the sight of the bounties, he perked his brow."I see... Dead or alive, huh? Well... We don't back down from a challenge that's for sure." Robert said as he looked down towards the faces of the Bashriyyan officials and collaborators...
There was a lot of work to be done.
