The Piikalans could see the things going on overhead through their drones video footage where they saw a group of people who dressed in a suit of some sorts run out into the forest. So one of the Kempeitai agents and the Piikalan diplomat grabbed their weapons and put on their Piikalan military uniforms. The Piikalan military uniform consists of a dark green or dull black armoured bodysuit that resembles a samurai uniform with a helmet that goes over the head and has a built-in gas mask and headgear that covers the full head and has small slights in it for the eyes. Along with a golden mon of the Imperial household(It's the sun that's on the Piikalan flag) on the shoulders. With a sidearm of Lei-o-mano and a Katana for close combat and a small semi-automatic pistol in a black hip holster. The two men quickly put their armour on over their clothes and put on their knee-high Jaki tobies over their legs. Then grabbed their semi-automatic weapons and rushed out to find the group that they saw run into the forest.

Meanwhile, the two remaining Piikalan agents took out several dark green coloured Piikalan MREs opened them and placed their contents in a flameless ration heater. That started to work quickly, shooting out steam causing them to salivate a little as they were hungry, having not eaten since that morning while they heated a few extra up for their potential guests and their colleagues. As one of them said in Piikalan, "I hope our guests won't mind eating canned fish...." as they realized the rations they grabbed from their box where canned mackerel with miso soup ration the least favourite ration for the Piikalans. It was causing the two to have a slight look of disgust as it usually tasted bland unless one was starving.

Alena's group was hidden behind a tree and saw two people wearing dirty black armor that resembled a samurai uniform with a helmet that went over his head and had a built-in gas mask and headgear that covered his full head and had small eye marks on them as they are approaching.

One of Alena’s friends pointed a sniper rifle and said “let me send them to heaven”. Alena smiled and said "no, we better see who they are, they don't look like rebels" .
Alena and the group discover and come out from behind the trees, their weapons emitting red dots on two strangers. Alena says “Please identify, more precisely who you are, I am Alena Haley, Queen of Tyranis.

Nanxiang Station platform.

A minivan drove onto the platform, as the Zolkovian diplomats are made to get into it, with them, the Nacradian representative, Alex Kwong, was also made to board the minivan. Just as the doors are closing, one of the rebels heard choppers flying towards their location.

(In Gan Chinese) "Ah, fuck, the Nacradian scum has found out. Quick, drive!" says one of the rebels, as he reached for the air conditioning knob and turned it to the cold side.

The car jolted forwards towards a level crossing, then sharply turned right onto some winding hilly roads. The rebels are driving very quickly, almost recklessly. As they disappeared into a jungle, they started talking about Ana, the only female on the van.

Little did they know, Alex speaks Cantonese, which is mutually intelligible with Gan, at least to an extent. Alex slowly leaned towards Ana, and said in a subdued voice, "I think those rebels are onto something, if you know what I mean."

Hiroshi and his assistant saw the group of soldiers at the edge of the forest. Upon seeing them, they waved a small white flag in one hand and a Piikalan flag in the other over their head. Then Hiroshi yelled in English accented English, “Hello, we’re not your enemy! We’re members of the Imperial Piikalan Armed forces and Imperial Piikalan Ministry of diplomatic affairs. I am SPF(Special Forces) Captain II class Hiroshi Kobayashi, and the man next to me is SPF Sergeant III class, Soma Nakamura. We’re not here to harm you and have no ill intentions.” While the two walked towards the group and while keeping their hands over their heads and weapons at their sides.

Ana regarded her present circumstances with a frown, her eyes scanning the minivan for a means of escape. She counted the passengers...took note of the weapons...and watched as the minivan peeled chaotically around hilly corners. At least they were in air conditioning now...though the sound of Johnny Kuznetsov's voice busy in the background trying to bargain his way out of the situation put a damper on the momentary relief.

His Cantonese was rudimentary...surprising considering he was a resident diplomat in the region, but then maybe not so much. A former Zolkovan military officer, Kuznetsov probably elevated himself to his position knowing the right people. Of course he wouldn't know the languages of the countries he was assigned to.

Zolkovan corruption at it's finest.

“You're all making a grave mistake,” Kuznetsov argued in heavily-accented English. “The president of my nation will hardly lose face in a precarious diplomatic escalation like this. The reward won't be worthy of the retribution, my friends.”

But the words were lost in a volley of jolly banter between the insurgents. Alex Kwong suddenly leaned in close to Ana, speaking softly.

"I think those rebels are onto something, if you know what I mean."

Ana's frown grew more pronounced. When she replied, it was just as quiet as Kwong but definitely angrier. “I don't know what you mean. But I do know that the situation your nation's politicians have put us in is unacceptable, and I'd like to know what you plan on doing about it.”

She also wanted to know where they were going, and what role these Kongsi insurgents could possibly have for Zolkovan diplomats to play. Kuznetsov wasn't exaggerating. President Krovopuskov would go to war before he looked weak on an international stage.

A satisfying thought until one considered one was going to die either way.

The jungle canopy grew thicker and darker outside the minivan windows.

"It's not like us Nacradians know that this'd happen. But fear not, I'm not stupid," says Representative Kwong, as he struggles to reach for his back pocket and showed her a black small appliance, which looks like an e-cigarette, save for a status light, and a button that reads SOS.

"If you don't understand, I'll have to explain it to you at a... better time," he says, vaguely gesturing at the driving rebels.

Meanwhile, Ganzhou Military Occupation Garrison.

"Alright, we have Alex Kwong on the map here. He's now on Ganzhou-Yan'an Highway, about 50 kilos from Ganzhou. Brigadier, it's your call whether to commit a pursuit or wait until they stop."

"Tell Yan'an to block off the highway. We won't be able to chase them, our humvees are too bulky. Get the choppers on here... Tell them to stay a safe distance clear of the road, we'll let the rebels dox themselves."

"Roger that, sir, sending telegraphs."

In the Piikalan War Pagoda in the Piikalan capital, the Shoguns of the Piikalan military gathered around a large table. As they debated the possible actions, they could take to protect and rescue their officers in hostile territory. The sounds of arguing could be heard across the room as the Shoguns debated if they should send in Piikalan troops to protect the diplomats and potentially assist the Nacard military in rescuing any people if necessary. So after much arguing the Piikalan decided that they would send in a paratrooper company and heavy airborne tank company to protect Piikalan diplomats if necessary. So they ordered the sending of a telegram to the Nacard state by the Imperial Piikalan Ministry of International affairs.

From: The Imperial Ministry of Foreign Relations of the Imperial State of Piikala
Translation: From Piikalan to English

Dear Representative of Nacard,

The Imperial Piikalan States, colonies, and self administrative states are outraged at your state's failure to protect the diplomats of the other nations and the Piikalan state. Against a bunch of rebels that we were assured your military would fend off. Subsequently, the Piikalan state would like to send in its troops into Kongsi to secure and protect the Piikalan diplomats since the Piikalan government does not feel that your state's forces in the region are competent enough to protect Piikalan citizens. So we ask for your government's permission to send in Piikalan paratroopers to retrieve the Piikalan diplomats and any other officials of other states that may have been captured.

We hereby sincerely apologise for the failure of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nacrad for its failure to adequately defend the Piikalan diplomats during the unforeseen ambush conducted by some 300 rebels at Nanxiang Railway Station. According to the latest updates from Ganzhou Military Occupation Committee, the kidnapped diplomats' location was determined, and the train at Nanxiang Station had already been re-secured. We gladly accept any supplementary intel that the Piikalan Military has also gathered, in an attempt to collaborate. However, we do not see the deployment of Piikalan paratroopers necessary at this moment, as the Nacradian Army has, we imagine, more than enough manpower to deploy for the rescue of the diplomats.

35 minutes ago, Nanxiang Railway Station.

"Alright boys, we need to secure that train. Be careful, civilians onboard."
"Oo-rah, sir.'

A battalion of soldiers and tanks each arrived from the south, and immediately engaged the rebels, who had spilled out into wide-open locations for the helicopers to mow down, the bombs to kill, the machine guns to pepper with bullets. Within half an hour, all of the rebels were forced to surrender or be killed.

10 minutes after reply, somewhere north-east of Ganzhou....

"OK boys, we found 'em. Alex is about 10 mins out, let's level their base."

They promptly dropped several dozen bombs atop the base, and hoped that it killed and maimed enough people that the rebels would be forced into a rout. At the same time, helicopters were deployed to the general area of the base, in particular on the beacon's location, the men rappelling down. One of the squads found the convoy of vehicles, and forced them to a halt at gunpoint, any rebels that didn't surrender at that moment were immediately killed. Then, more helicopters were called in, and the diplomats and soldiers alike are told to board the helicopters, whereby they are taken to Ganzhou and treated of any wounds. A formal apology is issued, and their status of being rescued is also notified to their respective nations.

Hiroshi and his assistant Soma carefully walked towards the group. Then carefully lowered their arms and took off their helmets. Then put their mask at their side and asked the group to come with them to a base camp they’re setting up behind a minefield behind the forest. Where they would be well protected against the insurgence, meanwhile overhead above the jungle the sound of jet engines could be heard overhead. A large grey flying wing with the Imperial Piikalan mon flying so low over the forest that it threw up leaves from the trees below. While the troops at the base camp sent out a message to the drone that read in Piikalan: “Enemy troops moved out to follow the van. Banzai!” So the drone turned and started following a road that intersected the train tracks. Flying low it barely hit the treetops as it began to accelerate in speed, causing the ground to rumble. Until its heat sensors detected what felt like a heat signature from a car in between the trees, so it opened up its Bombays and dropped several bombs filled with napalm onto the road. Then turned back towards the railway and went into a holding pattern overhead.

At the same time at the Piikalan camp, the two Piikalan Kempeitai agents were sitting back against a tree. As they ate their rations of canned mackerel from its green retort packages using chopsticks and drank their Miso soup from their cups as they ate their side dishes of Poi and mango pure from its retort packages. At the same time, they wondered when their associates would be back with the group as their mackerel was getting cold.

The excitement was over. Ana Popov, Johnny Kuznetsov, and their two security guards were rescued and helicoptered to safety. A happy ending, perhaps, but one not without consequences. Upon getting cleaned up, the two Zolkovan diplomats got a hold of the appropriate government agencies, and before long, a communique was passed along to the Nacradian government.

To: The Government of Nacrad

It has come to my immediate attention that earlier in the day, two Zolkovan diplomats were briefly kidnapped by insurgents in occupied Kongsi. During the course of the altercation, a Zolkovan journalist who was part of their delegation, was shot and killed. I am deeply disturbed and equally alarmed by this news, and I demand to speak via computer with the appropriate members of the Nacradian government concerning the particular details of this entire incident.

Zolkova will always stand up for its citizens and their rights, here in Zolkova and abroad. And while I am hardly versed in the geopolitics of your region, Kongsi's reckless endangerment of Zolkovan government officials cannot go unpunished. I am eager to speak with your leaders about what we can do here in Zolkova to help alleviate the insurgency in Kongsi.

This kind of aggression cannot stand.

President Oskar Krovopuskov smushed the cigar he'd been smoking into the ashtray, looking in the mirror one last time before he commenced with this computer conference. At 42-years-old, he still had a full head of jet black hair to slick back, and he sported a heavy, curly black beard. His suit was coal like his hair, at contrast with the blood red tie members of the ZNB (Zolkovan National Bloc) were known for wearing, and gold adorned Oskar's fingers and wrists.

The populist president was not pleased with the diplomatic snafu in Kongsi, and he didn't relish having this meeting at all. Krovopuskov was just recently elected a midst election fraud allegations; he couldn't afford to look weak on an international stage. The Zolkovan statesman straightened his jacket and took a seat at his desk in the Capital Building, booting up the conference.

“Good evening Mr. Mann, Brigadier Chan, and Lieutenant Kwok. I am pleased you agreed to have this meeting. I expect a thorough explanation of exactly what transpired this past week. Mr. Kuznetsov and Ms. Popov are on the line as well.”

Somewhere in Nacrad, Johnny Kuznetsov and Ana Popov sat in on the conference together, both stone-faced and nervous how this was going to go.

Brigadier Chan started speaking,
"Good evening, Mr. President. Lieutenant, please talk about what happened at the battlefield."

"Good evening, Mr. President. I will start talking about the what happened at the field of the battle, that is, Nanxiang Railway Station. From what I know, the train was halted at Nanxiang Station, which is approximately 20 kilometers north of Ganzhou, due to a small fault in the signaling system. However, after we stopped for a few minutes, some two hundred to three hundred insurgents came out of the hills near this village. This, obviously, outgunned and outmanned the 45-men garrison onboard this train. During the battle, I have requested reinforcements to the Brigadier, but his infantry forces could not arrive in time. In half an hour, my platoon was defeated, unfortunately. Brigadier, do you have anything to add?"

"Yes, I can testify that every word Lieutenant Kwok said is true. President Krovopuskov listened to Lieutenant Kwok intently, his thick brow furrowed, his sausage fingers drumming the desk in front of him. When Brigadier Chan spoke, President Krovopuskov grunted in affirmation, slightly shaking his head. Finally it was the Zolkovan diplomats' turn to speak.

“Brigadier Chan and Lieutenant Kwok have spoken truthfully and accurately, Mr. President,” Johnny Kuznetsov said, Ana nodding her head beside him. “Due to their diligent response, our lives were probably saved.”

President Krovopuskov wove a hand in dismissal.

“Thank you, Mr. Kuznetsov...Ms. Popov...you're both excused.”

Johnny and Ana's feed cut out, leaving the President alone with the Nacradian government officials.

“It sounds to me like you have your hands full in Kongsi,” Krovopuskov mused. “Security appears to be an issue. How do you feel about Zolkovan assistance with this so-called insurgency?”

The president wasn't sure how the offer would land. Admittedly so, he was unfamiliar with the Nacrad-Kongsi conflict...though he'd heard international rumblings about the ordeal, the kind of rumblings that often led to more war. Perhaps there was an advantage to be gained by aligning with another nation towards a like-minded goal.

Mr. Mann finally spoke, he thought that it'd be beneficial to align with someone who has spelled out their intents of being friendly.

"Mr. President, may I first express my gratitude for your generosity. Security is, unfortunately, hard to guarantee in the hilly terrain of Southern Kongsi. I personally welcome any external assistance with the insurgency.Brigadier, do you have any objections?"

"No, minister. I also very much welcome external help. I look forward to working with foreign militaries too."

President Krovopuskov slapped a hand on his desk and nodded proudly.

“Excellent. Zolkova will provide 2,500 paramilitary and mechanized infantry to Occupied Kongsi as soon as we're given permission to enter. They will help with patrolling, security, and prevention measures. The insurgency has put Zolkovans at risk. This is unacceptable. If Nacrad's goal is to establish order in the region, Zolkova will help her achieve this noble service.”

The President leaned forward, now folding his ringed hands together.

“I suggest we coordinate the deployment strategically. A presidential visit to Nacrad, to observe the foreign paramilitary support's unveiling first-hand and demonstrate a show of solidarity with Nacrad in the Nacrad-Kongsi conflict, may be in order. My office will be contacting yours again here shortly, once we hammer out the details.”

"I agree, Mr. President. I look forward to seeing you in Nacrad. Good luck to both of our nations. Thanks again for your support. I will personally relay this information to the military."

Suddenly, an unidentified soldier knocked on the Brigadier's door, "Sir, I have new intel, you might want to see this."
"What is it?"
"Our patrols have found a rebel base, and they hid their weapons in civilian structures. The commanders are having a meeting now, you might want to join in."
"I'll be there in a few minutes," says the Brigadier, then he turns towards the computer, only to find that he forgot to turn off the microphone, "Uh, sorry for that, I've got to go now. Please excuse me."

Hiroshi and his assistant carefully guided their guest through the minefield following a map they had in their memory. After five minutes of walking through the bush, the group finally arrived at the camp the Piikalans set up. Then handed their guest each a hot dark green ration pack of canned mackerel, a foam cup of miso soup, a warm plastic retort package of mango puri, and a cold retort pouch of poi. Then gave each person in the group a pair of chopsticks and spoon. When suddenly they heard the sound of fighting going on around the train. As suddenly the drone footage stopped coming in, causing the Kempeitai agents to stop eating and stand alert with their automatic rifles at the ready.
