Palace of the Armed Forces, Capital of Veise
The White Kingdom of Veise
A war council in Veise drew near its conclusion. The table, headed by Prince Astre II as the King's representative, held many big names. The long-lived and wise Louis Chageroix, the Grand Baron of Bouclier, and the veteran General Leo Chageroix, and Renee Chageroix, the great head of the Black Spell Guard, all for example; indeed, the Chageroix held a great stake of the table's power. Many other Generals and great state elites held seats at this table as well.

They had passed through many topics already, but none were as peculiar as the topic of transportation. Neither of Veise's 'allies' were available to aid in transportation, and Veise was only volunteering and thus could not spare the air or sea power to transport itself. Several other odd ideas bounced around, but the group had finally and reluctantly settled on one idea that they would've never thought possible.

"Seeing as we lack options, and we will not forfeit our involvement, it is settled: this War Council agrees that the Kingdom of Veise's Expeditionary Force will seek commercial aid from the opportunistic neutral power of the Chuck in order to transport our two divisions, the auxiliary attachments, and our supplies," Astre announced in a booming, authoritative voice. "Any final objections?"

There were none, other than grunts of displeasure, sighs, and the sounds of fidgeting.

"The council is dismissed," Astre stated.

A small airship of Veiser commercial class rapidly had cruised all the way over to The Chuck and made a landing. Its cargo was a man with a message, a plain but well-dressed Veiser man in burgundy, carrying a metallic backpack. He took in the view and, for a moment, was quite distracted, but nevertheless carried on with his task. He strolled down the streets, ignoring how out-of-place he appeared in favor of haste and professionalism, and came upon a wide-open park. He took a few steps back.

He got a running start, and a pair of grappling hooks burst from his hips underneath his coat, and the claws of the hooks wrapped around a pair of street lights (to avoid damaging buildings). His flight suit kicked into gear, and the hooks launched him into the air like a slingshot. A pair of mechanical wings and a gas booster activated from his backpack, and within seconds the man was soaring above the streets. After a minute or two of flight, he set his boosters to reverse and slowed. Finding a good landing spit before the post office, he swung to the ground upon on a hook, and his gear all retracted. With much less flamboyance, he simply strolled into the building, deposited his letter, and left, finding a place to stay for a few hours before his flight home.

Within the letter, Veise was requesting the services of a Chuckian shipping company sympathetic to the Crusader cause, asking for it to discreetly and safely transport its two divisions and its half-division auxiliary attachment as well as several large shipments of supplies. It would require many, many ships, but the White Kingdom was a willing customer; though a wise one that would not be tricked.

Charles Rock - Regional Headquarters of Independent Aviation Consultants

Barry Seal was sitting at his desk in the I.A.C. offices in Charles Rock when a flamboyant man walked through the front doors of the building. The man spoke little and instead delivered a letter before turning and leaving. When the secretary brought the letter to Barry, he read over it and a smile formed on his lips. Normally if he was trying to smuggle something to the Caribbean, he would fly it himself or ship it through the Panama Canal. However, he wasn't sure if there were spies around the Canal or not. As such, Barry decided to call a few old acquaintances of his. While he worked on a phone call to his acquaintances, a messenger was sent who managed to track down the flamboyant man and deliver an acceptance letter along with a bill. The grand total of the transportation would cost 45 million Chuckian Argentums but the bill laid out possible payment methods that could be acceptable as alternatives.

Later

Once the bill and acceptance letter were sent, Barry busied himself with securing additional aircraft. Thanks to some other companies in The Chuck, he was able to secure fifty C-123K Providers and had called upon some Caribbean mariners to be ready to meet the incoming forces with transport ships to be escorted to their glory. By the time the first Veiser soldiers started to arrive on Chuckian soil, they were being gathered at Charles Rock Regional Airport and loaded aboard the C-123Ks and C-130s of the I.A.C. air fleet. Over the course of 9 flights, the entire contingent of 25,000 Veiser soldiers and their equipment was transported to Medellin Colombia. Once there, they were escorted by Barry's acquaintances in the Medellin Cartel to the coastal town of Turbo Colombia. From there they were loaded onto old tramp steamers and set sail for the nation of Skyhook. All of this occurred completely under the table and the only thing that was noticed was an increase in air traffic in Medellin Colombia.

He set that mic down, and turned to the other radio set.

"Uvoan Battlecruiser Zkto' Zovban hailing Nostrum Fleets. We are leading humanitarian efforts, and would like to be assured our fleets will not be fired upon."

Drunk admiral, who guzzled two bottles of rum to handle his anxiety, responds to this call: "Heyya... *hic* Howdy... Wanna set anchor at Skyhookedian resort? Then set it... we won't fire at you. Just try your best to stay our of line of fire, when all this starts, there is no saying where the theatre of war will be... so you won't be hit by a stray rocket or bullet from either side. I repeat, permission granted! Our government thanks you. "

"Alright." The communications officer said, while checking his maps. "We're about six days out, but we'll land with three transport ships." He gave the thumbs up to the helm crew, who nodded. The fleet swinging as the Battlecruiser swung about, now under full pace. "We will arrive, and help the evacuations. Uvoan is happy to help." He closed his end, as the fleet kept its speed up...

Now it was simply a matter of time, guts, and getting there before the fighting started. The Communications Officer simply prayed to Uioan on high that little detail happened.

The pitching and swaying deck of the war-train brought the gunners attention back to the forefront. The train was racing to beat the clock, and probably shattering every safety accord in the books. He hauled himself up the ladder into his position, and stared at the train sprawling behind his gun cars. Box-cars, marked with distinctive yellow 'X's.

The Chemical Core was on the move. To where, he wasn't authorized to know. He just knew it was moving, and fast. The screeching whistle on the locomotive sounding like a sirens call of death. He settled himself into his seat, and watched the landscape fly past the train...

OOC: Was cleared by Rapture over Discord.

Federal Chateau
The afternoon sun blazed outside, as Exodian Secret Service operatives, Executive Guards, various diplomats and government officials, and workers swarmed outside the gates of the Exodian political residence.

One didn't need an RBC news flash to know this was not a good day for the Governor.

"What the fuck is happening? Just spit it out, basics. I've already heard the news, just give me the logistics." Rodriguez growled, standing up from behind the desk at his study with a silent flourish and reaching for the dossier.

"Sir, Pan-Asiatic warships are already within the Caribbean Sea and pose a direct threat to shipping and any sort of maritime movement from Exodia, whether civilian or military in nature. Refugees from the conflict are certainly going to start flooding America, Latin America, and our own borders. While they aren't looking at Exodia now, many other hostile nations such as the Ryk have mobilized their own navies in an invasion of Skyhooked. RIght now, the internatonal community has its eyes on Exodia, a trade ally and a geographic neighbor to the region, to respond in some way- and we have enemies and friends on both sides."

He looked to his Minister of State.
"Diaz, how about The Chuck and nations with similar political standings to us?"

"They're officially neutral. Probably making a killing over selling their arsenals."

Rodriguez sighed. "Senate's already passed bill for 20 million for humanitarian aid... Fucking ultraconservatives over at Independence won't stop yelling their asses off at me- 'go to war you cowardly dolt, don't be violent you shitfaced idiot...'-and here I am with a damn agriculture subsidies bill on my desk that my sister wants me to sign and another health standards act that'll probably restrict washing machines..."

An aide of his, an Anglo-Saxon female named Rhystrom, opened the door.
"Mr. Governor, the're waiting for you in the War Room."

"I need a moment, Sandy." He rubbed his eyes, pushed a tuft of jet-black hair past a pale white ear.

His predecessor, Shang, was revered in Exodia as a liberator and a champion, and hated in the rest of the world as an imperialist and a warmonger.
He'd run his campaign on peace, security, strength, and stability- a diplomat instead of a provocateur, a negotiator instead of an instigator.

No, the dusty streets and steel shivs of Tolsteid, the big guns and deep waters around the ESS Estrella had taught him something else.
He wasn't all so different from the little Chinaman.

Truly, if someone wished for peace, they'd have to prepare for war.

"Before I go down there, send a message to the Pan-Asians from in Trapad that they are perfectly within land-based cruise missile and Morning Star range as long as they are around Skyhooked, the Gulf, and the Caribbean, as well as likewise strike range as long as they pass near Panama in the Pacific from Kingstrom. And we are perfectly willing to deploy them in the damn Rojos say no- and that it's only a warning. I won't fire first, but I won't be tested."

[OOC: Will finish the remainder of this segment with another post. This has been delayed enough already.]

On the deck of the Leviathan, one of the 2 dreadnoughts sent out to engage Skyhooked.

Fleet Admiral el-Javid stands on the deck of the ship as it sails on towards Skyhooked. He had watched the attack on the Vatican with the Sultan. An ancient vow, dated to the first Sultan to assist any nations that held this Christian religion has triggered this response. While the current Sultan has no problem with not having religion, he has meet the Pope before his death, and a vow is not lightly broken in the religion of Kafair, causing him the send Javid and his fleet to engage Skyhooked. The rest of the Sun fleet sails on around him. As the fleet moves through the Atlantic, all personnel are relaxed and calm. A Rear Admiral walks up to him, a phone in his hand. el-Javid takes it, and sets it to his ear. The voice of the sultan fills his ears.

"Admiral, how are you?"
"I am fine my lord. We are halfway towards the Skyhooked border."
"How are the troops?"

el-Javid looks back, towards the transports in the center of the fleet. There were 20 transports with them, the rest spread around the 4 other fleets on their way to Skyhooked. Moral was rather high, as the 13,000 troops on this fleets transports were ready for a good fight. Suddenly, an alarm blares in the background.

"Admiral, what is happening!"

Javid looked to the horizon and saw a small aircraft. It looked like some sort of recon craft. Once it realized it was spotted, it turned way and flew off.

"A scout plane my Sultan. We shall move to full speed and set all personnel to max readiness."
"I am glad to hear it. You seem like you are ready and in command. Good luck Admiral. Bring glory to me and the nation"
"Thank you my lord. I shall do my best."

Javid sets down the phone and looks at the bridge of the ship, the flag of Kafair flying proud. He salutes and looks back to the horizon. He calls the Rear-Admiral over and relays his orders to him. Javid draws his saber. The rear admiral asks why we are attacking, and Javid simply tells him that "a vow is not broken, lest you die." As he looks to the horizon, the sun begins to set, and the fleet sails on. Skyhooked will pay for what they have done, in people, or in blood.

The Uvoan was the leadship of the Uvoan class of battlecruisers. She had been the flagship of the Grand Navy since her commisioning- And had been loved by her crew. A propoganda piece, the pride of a nation. And now she under full-sail, with what the finacial officer said was around 550 million in gold bullion. She was under full-sail for a nation which Uvoan hadn't done much with- But rumor said that was looking to change. The 550 Million gold bullion was meant to help rebuild the aging battlecruiser.

Of course, this was all running under the radar. Or as much as a battlecruiser, going full sail, could. She was only a few more hours away from dock- A company known as Grand Basin Heavy Industries. And then the modernization would start.

The first step, to a much more modern age.

As, elsewhere, a letter made its way to Rapture. Through whatever means, and as quickly as possible. A short letter, but a critical one...

To Chancellor John Mercer -

I am writing to you as my nation currently stands in the midst of a brewing storm of war. My armies are divided in politics, me and the Ruler-Elect disagree on basic tennants. My populace is split along two distinct lines aswell, and I fear for the safety of my nation. The strife of the previous civil war is something I have mentioned in passing, and I do not wish for that to happen to my Uvoan again. A second civil war is not something that Uvoan needs.

You might wonder why a distant foreign conflict, which will barely effect us, leads me to worry about civil war. It is because justifications are flying fast- Battle-lines are being drawn, and I worry that it is just a matter of time until one side in this forming civil war strikes first, and pushes us off-balance. But, this is something even deeper. This is a conflict between two rulers- Me, and Teno. The old, and the young. The militarist, and the pacifist. I could describe this a thousand more ways, but I believe my point has been made.

Chancellor Mercer, I ask of you to have some kind of force on standby. Nothing large, but enough to hopefully change the balance in this looming civil war. Or even enough to disuade it. I also hope this letter reaches you in swift time, for who knows how our nations fortunes will change in the coming clouds of war, but,

In best Regards,
Zkto' Zovban, Minister of War

Rapture Republic, North Atlantic Ocean

Returning from his morning walk from the gardens after announcing the declaration of war with the Skyhooked Alliance. John Mercer would be informed by his servitor secretary, who was formerly a human one by was caught for creating banks accounts offshore, not operated by the National Bank of the Rapture Republic and was painfully converted into a mindless, obedient, subservient cyborg eternally confined to the front desk of the Chancellor’s Palace as all normal human functions & necessities were replaced by tubes, wires and strings with only human element being her, consciousness but without control of herself as it was illegal for citizens, companies, and bureaucrats to have offshore accounts. As they was the programming doing all the necessary assessments according to her position as desk secretary. Nothing but a bureaucratic tool for the government. The secretary would tell that he has received a letter from the Republic of Uvoan, directed from the Priemer, Zikto Zovban labeling it as urgent, when transferring the message to his computer to read for himself.

He climbed the stairway leading to his office, opened the screen and logged into his Presidential email, where at top of the website page was dubbed “urgent message for John Mercer”; reading the message, he gave a disgusted expression at the anarchists trying by the shadows of tearing a nation apart again as they did with Knight Mare Nostrum, which started the surface world conflict in the first place and this peculiar country was known to home, Zekto Teno, a personal friend and supporter of the Supreme Chancellor. It would be a disaster, if Zekto was killed by the infection plaguing his country, which would bring the enemy closer to the destruction of the human race, if John Mercer did not respond with military assistance on standby to fight off the Uvoanian traitors pledging their allegiance to dark forces.

The Rapture Republic hears your pleas to hopefully avert a civil war by any means necessary as we were once on the breaking point to civil war, 63 years old ago. However, it was prevented by diplomatic means, my word to convince the opposition to see reason over blind idealism believing there way is the best, when it only brought strife and anger amongst the populace who had to suffer through a decaying utopia. Nevertheless, Rapture will have 13 sentinels on standby to serve as a theoretical deterrent to hostile forces that wish to devour your fatherland, my dearest friend from the inside out. If peace cannot come the skies shall roar with thunder.

Rapture City

  • In the underwater city, two roles have emerged from the City's ongoing civil war: the City Monitors who defend the peace and the Red Caps who fight against unjust systems. The city's infrastructure is crumbling under its own weight and kinship is snuffed by the paranoia of totalitarianism. Yet the people would be in for a surprise as their virtual overlord have died many years ago as the oppression continues under his name...
  • Not an 1-1 exact replica of Bioshock lore and Rapture City. Only the city's atmosphere and setting is maintained.

The Chuck - Grand Basin - Grand Basin Heavy Industries Shipyard

The Port Authority radar of Grand Basin picked up the Uvoan Battlecruiser as it entered the Exclusive Economic Zone. As soon as the Uvoan entered Chuckian maritime waters, three Asheville class gunboats and a MH-6M helicopter intercepted it and escorted it into Grand Basin. As the Uvoan was guided in, a dry dock was opened and it was docked. As the crew started to shut down the ship, activity picked up around it as workers of the Grand Basin Heavy Industries company started to scurry around like ants.

Once the giant ship was secured and the water was pumped out of the dry dock, two massive cranes rolled along rails over the ship and started to meticulously remove the three 15 inch turrets as workers cut away at the deck. The Uvoan government had wanted a complete retrofitting and modernizing of this well aged Battlecruiser and the workers of the G.B.H. Industries planned on shining this jewel to the best of their abilities.

A message is sent to Grand Basin Shipyard. 2 aging aircraft carriers, the Inferno and the Falling Star, are needed for the upcoming war, but they are much to old for use. The government wants them retrofitted. If the Grand Basin Shipyard can do so, they will be payed in 1600 pounds of pure Kafairian silver, worth over 400 million in cash. If possible to be fixed, the ships will detach from their fleet, and along with a escort of 3 cruisers and 2 destroyers, shall sail to the basin. 150,000 in bullion is also being sent along to cover refitting and modernization.

The Pan-Asiatic Federal Congress of Soviets
Neo-Manila

Image
"You're speaking out of line. State-Soviet, I urge the Opposition speaker to please practice restrai--"

"I am not going to drag this God-blessed Federation into another intervention! Why should we care whether a failed Anarchist State in the middle of the Caribbean lives or falls, it isn't our--"

The speaker's microphone is cut. Inaudible shouting continues for a few moments until he realizes what had just happened.

This is Neo-Manila. Pleasant from the outsider's perspective, but on the inside, a world of undercurrents. And this hardened artery of Pan-Asiatic Democracy, the Congress of Soviets, was the underworld of all the filibustering and attention-seeking that happened all throughout the country, on an almost dangerously daily basis. 4000, populists and celebrities, one and all; of the world's most ambitiously powerful men, bundled up in a room, telling everyone else what to do. That's the Asian dream. That's the People's Democracy.

Today, the second of three deliberations was being held regarding what the media has been calling "The Skyhookedian Question". Leading the charge is the State-Soviet (President of the Legislature) herself, Sonya Yoon-Sook. It was a miracle that, nights before, she was even able to get the Asian Military Command to vote on immediate action being taken to shore-up defenses on Skyhooked, under the premise of "protecting Skyhookedian civilians and providing humanitarian aid" (a fight she won only by a small, slippery margin). And while the Skyhookedian government is grateful for her actions, with Pan-Asiatic military units preparing themselves for boots-on-the-ground conflict, this right here was the real battle that needed to be fought. She needed at least 2001 of these regionalistic fools to pass legislation declaring war on the crusader alliance and officiating a pre-eminent strike on en route enemy troops (which would give them a huge leverage for the upcoming war, if it even was coming).

But before that could happen, "The Skyhookedian Question" needed an answer, a casus belli.

Even in a one-party system, the House still almost always ends up divided by pure ideology. On the Opposition bench, the Stalinists and Conservative Maoists grumbled and filibustered, rambling on and on about supply lines, the fallibility of such an offensive, the diplomatic implications of the war, the lack of moral support, even ridiculing Skyhooked's "dangerous libertarianism". That was expected, and the State-Soviet's bench could take a couple of hits.

However, as of now, it seemed liked an uphill battle. On the State-Soviet's side were the Trotskyists, militarists who used the "global revolution" as a catchphrase to incite their own popularity, most of whom had opposed the excessive spending of the government on all except the Armed Forces. The problem was exactly that, Sonya's bench was full of career politicians who weren't willing to take enough risks to get the job done. What they needed, Sonya thought to herself, was a good, concrete piece of reason that could really turn the tables of the debate. But it needed to be something with a soul, something with character, something ad hominem even if need be; it had to be something relatable and heartfelt that could get the general public on board with this agenda. Something that got the people lining up to enlist, something that could get the Nationalist spirit ablaze.

Because even if they did win, if all was not executed properly, strikes from the arms-producing unions could happen soon thereafter. On the other hand, if they could get the common person on board with this agenda, then all the populists on the opposition bench would have no choice but have a change of heart. All the career politicians on her bench would feel an even stronger sentiment to get this intervention order through--they could call "I told you so" if they won the war, and remain silent if they lost.

The Neo-Manila Post
Neo-Manila
May 31, 2019
8:00 PM

The Director of the Post sipped from her late-night cup of coffee. She had been asked to audit the state-company's profits a couple of weeks ago, and just wanted to get that done and over with. Her Press had a lot on their plate, with the November elections coming up and a focus on the new Supreme Commissary's agenda—an entanglement with the National Audit Office was not something her people needed right now. It was the usual stuff she had to report that bored her out at this hour, who's distributing and how much they're making, how much they're paying everyone and how much they're spending. She expected as much.

What she did not expect was for a phone call at this hour. What she didn't expect even more was the State-Soviet herself calling at this hour.

"Director Fernandez, may I speak to you right now? It is a matter of urgency.", inquired the caller.

"I can't refuse a personal call from the State-Soviet of the Pan-Asiatic States.", responded the Director.

"Director, I'm calling about the deadlock in Congress. I'm going to have to call-in a favor, but I think this proposal is mutually beneficial.", firmly stated the State-Soviet.

"I'm listening.", said the Director.

"I can get your people over to Skyhooked with unrestricted access to life on the ground. I want you to cover the general air of the Skyhookedians towards the upcoming crusade. I want you to interview our men. I want you to ask questions, I want you to make us look united. Make everything shout like it's oppressed.", mandated the State-Soviet.

"Oh? A quid pro quo, Miss State-Soviet?", said the Director with a rhetorically sarcastic attitude.

"Call it whatever you like. But you'll be the first in the fray.", retorted the State-Soviet.

Like some incredible, wild flying beast, the Veiser troopers were bouncing to and fro towards their destination; albeit with all of the subtlety of a common bird, noticed on a surface level but never considered or registered as even possibly a threat. This was a balancing act, and Veise had specifically timed the request to ensure the volunteers would not get there first. Otherwise, Veise, as the first shooter, would be inflicted with diplomatic consequences. The Expeditionary Force would certainly perish as well with such a serious numerical disadvantage. So, the two-and-a-half divisions opted to wait within Colombia, boredly mixing and mingling with the local populace, and the cartel to some degree...

1 Nautical Mile North of the Skyhooked Coast

The Uvoanian fleet had set to anchor precisely where it said it would-

A nautical mile off the north coast. Three huge City Class Freighters had joined them- Originally they'd been sailing under cargo to Uvoan, but with an order from naval command they'd been sent around to Skyhooked. They were bulk troop-transports, yes, but the amount of people each one could fit was unmatched. All three of these ships together could pack 45,000 refugees in. The aid convoy, another day out, would move another 75,000.

Ever since the fleet had landed, about a half-hour ago, it had been preparing to run boats. Evacuation for anyone willing to step aboard- All underneath the safety of a Uvoanian fleet. Adama had told they'd be starting in another fifteen or so minutes. Drop supplies on-land, and take refugees aboard the troop-ships.

Adama stood on the deck of the UGN 'Zkto' Zovban', its anchor dropped, as he watched. The warm Caribbean air felt good- Much better than the slight chill in Uvoan these days. His attention was on the troopship UGN 'Asan', its heavy-laden form barely rolling in the sea. He was nervous, and waiting for news of the naval engagement... Or whatever would happen.

Or for news from Uvoan itself. He knew the situation was tense- His fleet was divided, and he knew that well. And he knew whichever way war swung, would determine who would win. That, and who knew what Zkto planned-

Adama was an old hand. He had served with Zkto' during the Revolution. Two privates, fighting side by side. One rose to master the country, and the other to the navy. Adama had been hand-picked by Zkto', and he'd been determined to prove Zkto' right. And by the Gods, Adama had. He'd beat expectations which no-one had expected him to. He was a decorated, three star-admiral. He'd lead the fleet through the trials of the second world war. His fleet had participated in the Pacific, and struck fear into the Japanese. His fleet that had earned the title 'Carrier Killers'. And now, would earn a new title. One that would hopefully be a good one. But even he couldn't predict Zkto'. The man wasn't insane- By all accounts, he was a genius. He'd won a civil war which he had no right too, and then coordinated a blitzkrieg which had crushed Hazzant.

But, he was a man who kept his secrets guarded very closely. And that concerned Adama.

It made him very worried when he could only predict one side of a war- He didn't know whom he could support...

Zkto' read over the response from Mercer. He smiled to himself, as he sat down to write a reply...

To Chancellor Mercer,

Uvoan thanks for for the willingness to help it, in its time of aid. True allies are hard to come by in these days, and your comradery will not go forgotten. May our nations prosper, and this war end soon.

-Zkto Zovban

He smiled to himself, and then placed it down on the table. Leaving it as he stood, and walked out...

He had an army to modernize afterall. And the trade wouldn't happen without his

Off the shore of Skyhooked

SPLASH!
A column of water flies into the air around 25 yards from the Uvoan ships. A warning shot. A series of flags are run up and down the ropes from the top of the Leviathan dreadnought.
We have no wish to fire upon an neutral nation. Please leave this zone immediately. Should combat break out, it would not do for a neutral nation to be caught in the cross fire.

A ensign upon the Leviathan steps forth with a megaphone in hand.

"Uvoan admiral. This is the Sun fleet out of Kafair. We are requesting a meeting with your admiral, to discuss your involvement, yet neutral standing, in this conflict."

The ensign steps back, and awaits a response.

Adama jumps as the column of water lances into the sky, off the starboard. His attention snapping over, as the ships gunnery crew rushes to stations. Then he hears the call from the bridge.

"They're running flags! Asking us to leave the area!" A junior officer shouted, pointing at the flags running the mast of the Leviathan.

Adama growls, and then pauses as he hears the ensign with the megaphone. Gesturing to a junior, who rushes off to the bridge, throwing one to Adama.

"I am Admiral Adam of the Uvoanian fleet. First you fire warning shots, against a neutral fleet, then request a meeting?" He pauses, considering quickly. "Let us take it on the deck of my ship. I want some assurance your ship will not fire again." He lowers the megaphone, and awaits a response.

el-Javid stepped up, took the megaphone form the ensign's hands and spoke into it.
"I apologize for the warning shot! It seems one of our gunners got a tad exited. It is not very gentleman-like to fire and than make a request. I am Fleet Admiral el-Javid, in charge of this fleet. I shall take a small craft to your ship Admiral Adama. For your information, there will be 5 members of the Sultanate Royal Guards, with sabers and small rifles, coming with me, as a precaution."

el-Javid looked behind him to the ensign.

"Prepare a small motorized craft at once. Gather the 5 guard captains on our ship and call them too me. After you have done this, return to me."

"Yes sir, Fleet Admiral el-Javid!"

Javid looked back to the Uvoan ships and awaited a response.

Adama raises the megaphone again. "We shall be prepared to receive you." He calls, before turning to the junior. "Prepare to receive a delegation." He simply says, as he turns to watch the Kafair fleet, the Junior Officer walking off to prepare Adamas officer, as a small squad brings itself together.

"My first action shall not be conflict, but diplomatic..." Adama mutters, as he watches, and waits, remaining on deck.

Postby Skyhooked » Fri May 31, 2019 3:32 pm

As enemy invasion still hesitated for some reasons, Skyhookedian forces relaxed a bit, but still were ready to fight at any moment. This moment of peace also proved to be a blessing, that allowed to reinforce coastal defenses, fortify coastal cities even further and move even more forces closer to the coast.

Soldiers and militias were still feeling growing suspense in the air, that made them sleep with one eye open. Most non-combatants were already evacuated from the coast, so they won't be caught in the crossfire, and even more barricades and trenches were created. Kabanarian rangers and Frontiersmen militiamen together with soldiers with grenade and missile launchers have already positioned themselves in best places for an ambush, waiting for the invasion. Many traps like tripwires were set up too.

The longer enemy takes his time to invade, the stronger the defenses they would encounter each passing hour would mean more traps or barricades to handle.

Coastal defenses were improved too, as more and more artillery and missile systems came closer to the coasts, while those, that were there already recieved more supplies and ammunition. Meanwhile, some people imrovised their own rockets, that would be launched as soon as hostile forces appear. Those flying junk heaps won't be a major problem, just a nuissance, but still could inflict some damage, or at least contribute to overwhelming enemy point defense systems.

"The more time they take to attack us, the more we improve our defenses. Looks like they ain't goin' for a blitzkrieg after all..."-Stan Dixon says, as he enjoys cigar, while looking at columns of military vehicles deploying.

"Dudes, they may have some sort of tectonic wapons too. I guess, we shouldn't deploy too much forces to the beaches. What if they start some sort of tsunami?"-Casey James expresses his concern, while he radioes to relocate some parts of the soldeirs and vehicles.

"Rapture can do that, I agree. May Thor strike them down! When they come, I will lead Battle Bonded clan and be among the first lines. With such a genocidal maniac, It is victroy or Valhalla! Now, I will sharpen my sword and clean my gun."-Bjorn of Steel.

The 5 guard captains stand before the Fleet admiral and salute.

"Come with me men. We are going on a diplomatic, remember that, diplomatic mission. Sabers and carbines only. Get your kit and into the skiff with you."
"Yes sir, Fleet Admiral!"
"Remember, dress uniforms. We must make a favorable impression.

The men run off, and the Ensign walks up and salutes.

"Ensign, what is your name?"
"Ensign el-Raban, Admiral."
"Well el-Raban, you are being promoted. Gather 8 men of the 3rd Elite regiment and have them array on the bridge. Watch us and the proceedings. Should it get violent, for any reason, as much as I dislike this order, tell them to fire. And for the sun's sake only wound. Nothing lethal or its your head I take. Do not fail me Lieutenant el-Raban."
"Yes sir Fleet Admiral!"

The newly promoted lieutenant runs off,and el-Javid climbs into the skiff. As a small sequence of flags wave from the bridge, signalling the incoming of the delegation to the Uvoan's, the Admiral orders the 3 crewmen of the skiff forth. A minute later, the skiff pulls up next to the Uvoan flagship, and the men board the ship.

Adama was waiting with his detachment of guards. All dressed in full naval array, the usual grey and green uniform replaced with a dull blue color. "Welcome aboard, Admiral. I hope you don't mind if we take this in my office." He says, turning, and leading the way to his office, through the corridors of the Battlecruiser.

Adamas office is eventually revealed to be behind the bridge, and fairly sized. Light blue carpeting on the floor, a mahogany desk, a model of the battlecruiser in a glass case in a corner. A clock ticks upon the wall, and a large map-wall reveals the movements of the ship in the past few days. But, it's still large enough for everyone involved, and more, as Adama gestures for them to take seats which have been brought into the officer. Adama taking his behind his desk, clearing his throat. "Any drinks? And, well, what are your names...?"

2 of the guards with Javid take up a position on either side of the door, while another pair stand to either side of the room, with the last, and most senior captain, standing behind el-Javid as he sits down. el-Javid shakes Adama's hand, and seats himself.

"I am Fleet Admiral el-Javid, senior officer of the Sun Fleet, on a mission from his Majesty the Sultan Adil el-Karim. These are my 5 most senior and well trained guards upon the Leviathan."

Javid and his men were all in dress uniforms, with the guards having head wraps the color of sand, with a uniform of the same color as the Kafairian flag, which was stitched on their shoulders. Their turbans had a small topaz stone in it, and each man has his saber in a black sheath, with small gold etchings. Javid wore a uniform of the same color, with his head dress having a jade stone in it, and he had his medals from years past upon his uniform.

"We are here to retaliate for the attack on the Vatican, and were preparing for a coastal bombardment. We saw your ships, and being initially unable to identify them, a over-eager gunner crewman fired. I once more apologize. Now, Admiral Adama, what is it you are doing here? I thought your nation declared itself a neutral power in this conflict."

Javid studied Adama. He saw the steel of his character, a man ready to fulfill his mission. What that mission was, however, is still a mystery.

"Humanitarian aid... Well, the first part of it." Adama admitted. "Uvoan knows the chaos of war, and what happens when civilians are caught in the cross-fire. Especially with over-eager gunners." He chuckles, lightly, at that. "My fleet is providing the first part of aid. We've space for 45,000. The next part will arrive in another few hours, and set up aid camps, and so on. The second half will take another 75,000, than we shall set sail back for Uvoan. Leaving this conflict zone, before returning to collect the next batch of refugees."

He pauses, considering his next words for a few seconds. "Even if Skyhooked was responsible, there are still tourists and civilians here. Tourists who were un-involved with the attack, and civilians who are victims of the Anarchist system. That is who Uvoan is here for." Adama says, studying Javid, noticing a man certainly ready to complete his goals.

Javid nods. "Your fleet certainly doesn't look ready for combat. How long do you think your evacuation will take? If it is completed rather quickly, I can send off a small contingent of my fleet to escort your ships, too keep them away from other crusaders who might not be aware of your mission."

Javid thought out his next words. It would not do to insult the good Admiral.

"Tell me Admiral Adama, do you wish to strike a deal? Nothing extreme, simply if you send out parties of men to round up civilians, make maps. Provide me and my men with the maps, and that would be it. Your men would be rather safe. You cant get in the way of a humanitarian response now can you? I do hope this isn't anything insulting to your mission, but what Skyhooked has done is unacceptable. These maps will help us pay back Skyhooked for what they have done, while knowing the locations of populated areas. If you can get info on the coastal defenses, that would be valuable as well."

Javid was nervous. If this payed off, the info would be a real asset to them and their allies in punishing Skyhooked for their actions. He awaited the Admiral's reaction.

Adama pauses, considering both options in his mind. Looking at a clock ticking on the wall, before looking at Javid. "I believe we can have a full load of refugees by noon tomorrow. Your escorts would be appreciated..."

He paused, tapping his chin as he carefully considered his next words. This was a chance for him to gain a possible country to run to, for if Uvoan went under.

"I believe I can make a deal like that... Entirely secret, of course. Uvoan is officially neutral. But the people aren't. Everyone on this fleet, and indeed, in the coming troops, supports someone or another. You'll have your maps, Admiral... And coastal defenses. The quicker this war is over, the less we'll need to be here." Adama says, keeping his own personal goal to himself. "We'll be sending landing parties ashore in a few minutes. Set up an initial landing zone, and start ferrying them. Of course, my own men will be assuring the safety of refugees, counting them, organizing them... Which gives them a chance to do what is needed." Adama smiles. But it's not a nice smile. It's the smile of a shark closing in on its prey. As movement through a window catches his attention...

Outside, on the starboard side of the battlecruiser, a shallow draft transport makes its way towards shore. Flying the Uvoanian flag, and aid flags. The skipper nodding as they shove off from the safety of the transport, and into the sea. "Communications, put a call into Skyhooked. Ask where we can dock to start pulling refugees aboard."

"Aye aye sir." The Junior Officer answered. Turning to the radio, and grabbing the mic. Turning it on, and "Uvoanian Transport 'Deep River' hailing Skyhooked. We'd like to know where we can dock, to take aboard the first refugees."
