Special Forces: Sinai

After the capture of Tewfik, an East Persian naval force of 3 battleships, 10 troop carriers, 2 large supply ships, 12 destroyers, and 5 submarines have been sent to the port city to land troops there. a total of 5,000 troops are to be landed in Tewfik and advance to Cairo and the Nile River. As of now, the fleet have left the Gulf of Aqaba and are closing in to Tewfik.

The men who took part in the operation to capture Tewfik are chosen to either join with the invading troops or to return back home. Most have chosen to stay and fight. The 5 who wanted to return back home are allowed to go back to their bases when the fleet have returned back to base.

Tunnel construction:

The tunnels underneath the border have been nearly completed. The only thing that is needed is to dig on the other side of the border which will be undertaken by soldiers. These men are armed with Tommy machine guns, shovels, and explosives. They are also equipped with mines defusing equipment to disable any mines that they may encountered. They cross the border at night and traveled the length of the tunnel to where the spot has been chosen to be the exit.

It turns out 4% of the populace can be mobilized in more... Dire situations. After asking the cartographer, I once again had to re-adjust numbers. In my opinion this is enough. Most will be in reserves for dire times.

I hope this is the last time I gotta fix my ORBAT. My apologies in advance.

With an ongoing shutdown of borders between the Panem and Cerman countries, the area makes way for the Cerman 1st Army deploying parallel to the territory line preparing to hold position and dig in on a defensive posture. A long line of troop battlements and fighting positions have been deployed along the North American Line. The primary supply networks are practicing their runs and Cerman military Intelligence is marking bulletins for local land mapping. Civilians are practicing evacuation routines by request of local authorities should fighting draw toward the civilian areas. Combat establishments are being prepared over the area along with a muster for a Reaction Force. Bunker positions are being established with earth movers along the open area sections not covered by a geographic barrier.

The Experimental Cerman Light Infantry and Motorized Infantry troop concepts will be employed in the prepared positions, performance should be reported to Command elements when possible.

Cerman Expeditionary Marines are actively guarding fighting establishments and filling holes in the Army's spread out network.

The 2nd Army at the border continues with basic maintaining of defenses to be prepared for any invasion. Infantry units clean their weapons in shifts to avoid being caught off guard, scouts are sent forward at night to scout the enemy positions, and the occasional artillery battery fires off a few shells. The heavy 4.7-in guns fire HE shells to keep the Panem forces from thinking about mounting any serious offensives. Parts of the 1st Army and some of Volunteer Corp Troops are moved into position to prevent attacks on their southern left flank.

The Jefferson-class light cruiser ROWS Franklin (CL-5) and the four destroyers accompanying her spot a Panem supply convoy bound for their North American Colony in between English Iceland and Panem itself. The cruiser and it's escorts quickly fire their guns on the small convoy, effectively the first shots of the war for Washington. The Dreadnoughts and other heavy ships wait out in the Atlantic for any Panem naval forces to try and break through to their colony. The super-dreadnoughts ROWS Wyoming (BB-21) and ROWS Emerald State (BB-22) near completion and will join the fleet soon.

The Government of Panem has largely ignored the advance of the Washintonians. The Navy will not be engaging them in the ocean, or in land. The Government is finding more secretive ways to transfer Naval support to the colonies, which also includes the relocations of experienced generals.

Dragomerian Controlled Territory in Sinai
The fortifications of the city of New Tokyo, formerly called Suez, have been completed. Three lines of trenches completely encircle the city from the Gulf of Suez to the Suez Canal. Large wood watchtowers (with searchlights) are spread throughout the length of the Trenches, as are a very large number of artillery units. Large mounds accompany the trenches on the inside, acting as barriers to prevent enemy fire into the city itself. Large walls now surround the Canal side of the city to prevent an enemy from coming into the city from the canal. The large spire has been placed and secured into the heart of the city, along with the Dragomerian flag, risen on a flagpole near the spire. Soon, many of the Dragomerian forces would leave the city and seek to take the rest of the Sinai and Egypt.

Suez

100,000 soldiers departed with artillery and supplies, on their way to Ismailia (ooc: the next major city along the canal according to Google maps). Their plan was to take the major cities along the canal in order to gain possession of it. The Forth Fleet, split off from the Fifth Fleet to travel through the canal and add extra fire-power to the troops. The Forth Fleet was also tasked with destroying roads and bridges that go across the canal. Once the cities along the canal are taken, the next stage could begin. The General himself believed that it would not take longer than a month to take the Suez Canal entirely. To the Dragomerian government, the Sinai Peninsula was there for the taking.

Should I send my task force to Ismailia and hold on the city until your army comes? My forces are planning to take Ismailia and hold it until your forces come and at the same time, attack Port Said. My forces will travel in boats and will begin to launch an attack. The attack involves taking down coastal defenes and hijacking naval ships in the canal.

*After boating for some time, Group A has reached a dry spot 5 miles south of the port facility of Ismailia. Group B had said its farewells and continued to Port Said where they will launch coordinated attacks on both targets. Group A has pulled their boat onshore, dug a small hole, and covered it with sand and rocks to conceal it. The men started to march towards the city and at night, they will start to infiltrate stealthily and capture the city with minimum resistance.

Group B has yet to get to Port Said as they left Ismailia and headed north to Port Said. They will be disguised as a routine canal patrolling crew.*

Konstantinoplean Forces in Caucasian Albania

Konstantinoplean Forces stand near the beaches waiting for the Persians to make their way out of the beach. The Georgian Battalions have joined the Caucasian Albanians to prevent any advancement towards the region.

Konstantinoplean Forces numbered at 10,000 stand throughout major roads and towns waiting for the Persian advancements from the southern border. So far no contact has come, and the East Persian advance has been slow.

The 2nd Army will stay along the border as the 4th Army moves in along the Great Lakes region.

The Republic of Washington Marine Corp.
The 1st and 2nd Marine Infantry Regiments prepare to leave as part of the WEF to travel to Germany to assist the Yurizlansian forces that are struggling against the Greater Konstantinoplean forces. The newly formed 6th and 7th regiments stay behind to guard Baffin island. Meanwhile, several battalions from the 3rd Marine Infantry Regiment are sent to reinforce a Naval watch post on the eastern coast of unoccupied Greenland.

Konstantinoplean in the Balkans

The number of troops have been increased to 140,000 in the Balkans to fight the Washintonians, and the Yurizlansians.

The Republic of Washington Army

The WEF digs in along a sector where Yurizlansian troops are being rotated out to make room for the Washingtonian forces. The first elements to dig in are the 1st Infantry division with the 1st Marine regiment on it's flanks. The Army will put the rest of the divisions in shortly. All the while, the arriving troops fortify their trenches with boards, dig drainage ditches to avoid flooding, and place sandbags along the firing lines. Machine guns are set up in positions to have interlocking fields of fire, and the heavy artillery pieces are placed in positions to cause maximum damage to the advancing forces. At night, patrols are sent up to place wire in front of their positions.

The Republic of Washington Navy
To draw the Roman fleet in a decisive battle, the scout cruiser ROWS Franklin (CL-5) and four escorting destroyers from the 3rd Fleet are sent through the Gibraltar Strait to harass shipping in between the Roman Republic and Greater Konstatinople. Their job is to hunt mostly merchant ships and not to engage heavier warships. The larger seven dreadnoughts, three predreadnoughts, eight protected cruisers, one scout cruiser, and 30 destroyers wait in the Mid Atlantic to respond to any Roman fleet movements.

The time has come. Seeing the blatant disrespect of the Panem Government had towards the Ascoobian nation for not even answering to its ultimatum and the aid that Panem is providing to Greater Konstantinople and the Roman Republic, Emperor Jimenez has ordered that the Ascoobian Army begin an invasion of the enemy neighbor. The North American Front has been ignited.

  • The first Army, based on the New Mexico-Texas Border, has sent the 1st Infantry Division, 2nd Infantry Division, and 2nd Artillery Division to assault Amarillo, TX.
  • Supporting this phase of the invasion effort, the 3rd Infantry Division, 4th Infantry Division, 1st Machine Gun Division, and 1st Bomber Division will proceed to marching to and attacking Laredo, TX(After going through Levelland.TX).
  • The 5th Infantry Division, 1st Artillery Division, and 1st Reconnaissance Winged Division are marching to the first stop on their campaign, Plainview, TX.

  • The Second Army, based on the New Mexico-Colorado Border, has sent the 6th Infantry Division, 7th Infantry Division, 3rd Artillery Division, 2nd Bomber Winged Division, and 2nd Machine Gun Division to Pueblo, CO. However, they must first push through the city of Trinidad to reach their target.
  • The 8th Infantry Division, 9th Infantry Division, 10 Infantry Division, 2nd Reconnaissance Winged Division, and 4th Artillery division are tasked with capturing the Panem frontier towns of Durango, CO, Alamosa, CO, and Pagosa Springs, CO.

  • The Third Army , based on the Utah-Colorado Border, has sent the 11th Infantry Division and 12th Infantry Division, 3rd Reconnaissance WInged Division, and 5th Artillery Division to capture the small towns of Cortez, CO, Montrose, CO, and Telluride, CO.
  • The 13th Infantry Division, 14th Infantry Division, 6th Artillery Division, and 3rd Bomber Winged Infantry to push across the border to capture the city of Grand Junction, CO.
  • The 15th Infantry Division and the 3rd Machine Gun Division are to start the capture of the entire Dinosaur Monument and then push eastward across the wilderness of Colorado.

  • The Fourth Army, based on the Mexican-Texan Border, sends the 16th Infantry Division, 17th Infantry Division, and 8th Artillery Division to capture the bordering metropolis of El Paso, TX.
  • The 16th Infantry Division and 4th Reconnaissance Winged Division through the Big Bend National Park on its journey to Fort Stockton, TX.
  • The 17th Infantry Division, 18th Infantry Division, 4th Machine Gun Division, 7th Artillery Division, and 4th Bomber Division are sent across the Panem-Ascoobian Border to attack Corpus Christi, TX. First, they'll have to push through the towns of Brownsville, McAllen, and Kingsville.
  • The 19th Infantry Division will be sent to capture the minor city of Laredo, TX
  • The 20th Infantry Division will be sent to secure the busy Piedras Negras border crossing.

  • The Caribbean Fleet, based on the Yucatan Peninsula, has dispatched its 7 Shadow-Class Submarines to attack enemy naval surface ships in the Gulf. 7 Peral-Class Submarines are to patrol the Ascoobian East Coast for Panem movements. For now the rest of the fleet will remain at base.
  • The Atlantic Fleet in Marajo is on high alert for signs of Panem movement near the colony.

The Imperial Government requests that the German, Washintonian, and Cerman Government to open up separate fronts with Panem as soon as possible to be able to divide and simplify the task of defeating this large Scandinavian empire. Within the next several months, the Army is to expand its air branch and will be replacing the Farman IVs with a newer fighter and bomber. When these new aircraft are released, Ascoobis will offer this fighter to the German Armed Forces in exchange for German tank technology and developments.

Konstantinoplean Forces in the Sinai

Konstantinoplean Forces are ready to stand their ground, and prevent any further advancements by the Dragomerians. The Konstantinoplean Regional Government of Sinai has ordered the immediate evacuation of the southern part of Ismailia. Thousands of mines lay on the path, and parts of the roads have been destroyed to prevent a smooth advance from the Dragomerians. 125,000 troops have gathered in and around the city to prevent it from falling.

Roman Republic

Several dozen ships have joined the 20 Konstantinoplean ships in preventing a Dragomerian Naval advancement. The much tougher and stronger Roman Navy with the support of the Konstantinoplean Navy fight to the death with the Dragomerians. The General said that there will be no Dragomerian victory here.

Ismailia
The Dragomerian forces had been marching and were to soon reach the city. Ahead of the main group, the scouts were mapping out the areas in front of the force and searching for mines. The main forces avoided the roads in fear of mines, but the scouts were there to make sure that the main force avoids them if any were placed off the paths. They finally came a point where the Dragomerian artillery would be able to fire into the enemy city. The forces stopped and set up the artillery. Loading every artillery unit with incendiary ammunition, the artillery were then fired off into the city, aiming at burning the city to the ground with the incendiary rounds. The General was confident that the enemy would, once again, run like cowards and allow capture. He also believed that, even in the worst scenario, they would come out on top. Being a Catholic, he uttered a speech that inspired his soldiers, "Let it be known that God shall bless us with victory. We are the new chosen people. We have been chosen to rid the land of the barbarians from Konstantinople. WE SHALL NOT LOSE! We shall win! WE ARE ON OUR WAY TO VICTORY!!!!!!"

The Battle of the Canal
The Dragomerian ships were advancing through the canal. Up front, destroyers were producing smoke screens to hide the large number of ships behind them. The destroyers spotted the approaching the enemy ships and started firing torpedoes at the tight formation of enemy ships. The position of them was relayed to the ships hiding in the smoke, the ships which then aimed at the enemy ships and waited to fire. The destroyers, being fast and being able to fire large numbers of torpedoes, were to weaken the enemy ships by firing torpedoes into the line of enemy ships before the battleships and cruisers took out the remaining ones. As the destroyers continued to fire torpedoes at the enemy ships, the plan (ooc: explained in the previous sentence) was to crush the enemy forces, a feat which the Admiral was confident in performing.

Transport
The Dragomerian Islands has decided to send an additional 100,000 troops via naval transport to the tip of the Sinai Peninsula in a surprise invasion. This would be aimed at splitting up Konstantinoplean forces further, as the Empire takes over Sinai. The transports would take time to reach their destination, but once done, they would be able to take the few inhabited areas on the Sinai Peninsula.

The larger ships stayed about a miles from the shore and small boats have been used to ferry men and supplies to the shore. Once on the shore, the men set up temporary defense and have set up small tents to camp out for the day. The following morning is the time to advance to Khachmaz, Kurdimar, Beylagan, and Shabran. These four cities are important for the success of the operation so the 4,000 men are to be divided into four teams of 1,000 men each. Each group is to capture on of these cities.

The landing zone is 25 miles south of Khachmaz

--The 4,000 men who are sent over the border are ordered to hold bridges, key roads and mountain passes, and occupy important mountain trails. These are needed for the forces arriving my sea to capture the four cities important to the invading forces. The men are spread out on a wide area and multiple groups can join forces to take an important position. If enemy forces are leaving the area or arriving, the men are to hold their positions and to engage and destroy enemy armies in the area they occupy.

--The landing beach has been secured and a regular shipment of supplies have been received. Troops have started to cross the mountain passes in small groups armed with climbing gear, food, rapid firing machine guns, and rockets. These men have been tasked to slip around enemy defenses and block their escape routes.

--Two thousand men are nearing Yerevan while the other two thousand have reached the outskirts of Stepanaken. The troops rested and plan on launching an assault on the cities the following night.
