Does anyone know how to get a custom signature to display on talk pages etc.? I've tried putting the usual "{{User:Wikipedia and Universe/Signature}}" into the box under preferences, but it keeps showing up as "{{SUBST:User:Wikipedia and Universe/Signature}}" instead of showing the one I created.

{{This format}} is specifically for pages with a Template: prefix. You'd have to copy the content of "User:__/Signature" over to a new "Template:Wikipedia and Universe signature"; or copy just the code from the former into the signature field.

Somewhere in Southeast Asia. I don't think I'm going to give you my exact location, but if I have to I'll have to delete that post in a few days.

I'm experiencing a 500 Internal Server Error on IIwiki, which is currently persisting. No refreshing or other solutions seem to resolve the issue.

Correct. Because that's probably at least partially responsible for us hitting our RAM cap. While we look for a more permanent solution, image uploads will be disabled.

Where are you hosting? I've some server space I'm doing little with, if I can get a decent estimate on your directory size I might be able to host you for free

Putting aside the absolute headache of migrating a wiki between hosts, especially one this size with as active of a community as we have, I would need a guaranteed 30+ GB of space (not counting back-ups), at least 2 GB of RAM (preferably more) just for me, and a CPU that is unlikely within range of what you're offering.

The last migration, though, took over a week to get finalized properly. That is not time I'm willing to invest again any time soon.

It's unlikely out of range of what I'm offering, but if you don't want to migrate that makes sense.

Ah, I think I see the problem.

The country infobox template has specific code that automatically handles sizing, positioning, the image border, (and generating alternate text if the image cannot be displayed). It automatically generates the code needed to display the image based on the responses to the template fields. That's why all you need to put in the template is the image's name, not the full image code. But it doesn't recognize the Imgur image code so it thinks the template is broken, and the rest of the generated image code ends up being displayed.

This means that it will not work in any templates with similar construction, where you simply paste the photo name rather than the full [[File:IMAGE.jpg|300px]] code. It does not affect all infoboxes though, as it does not affect the ones that do use the full code and don't have a function to generate it automatically. This includes the weapon infobox I posted earlier. AFAIK, most infoboxes do not use the complicated system the country infobox does, so most infoboxes should be fine.

I don't know if there is anything that can be done in this instance though, because a fix would require editing of the country infobox code itself (and any other infoboxes using the same code). And in turn that would probably create the same problem for anyone using the existing format, requiring everyone else to go back and edit their articles. The only "convenient" solution I can see is using some other kind of plug-in to make IIWiki recognize Imgur images like Commons or local images, but that's probably a stretch too.
