Well, about the RP. I know, someone's made a suggestion about making a 'new guy'
RP just to show off. What I was thinking though was that ya'll could make a scenario, let one or more of us 'new guys' go in and take care of whatever. THEN have the experienced critique the whole process, and show them how they do it.

Well, that's actually an interesting idea, but lets take it a step further.

What if we had a scenario with all the new guys, and a few older guys. They all went in, and the new guys would be trained and helped by the older guys. In the OOC, they'd critique and point out issues.

That's my suggestion based off your idea, which is great.

Nice idea, DEN. I'd be interested in being one of the "older guys".

Well, that's a forum vote, most likely. We'd list the most available candidates and then take from there.

Ive been busy at work the last few days, and I spent this day off

in my house after cancellation. found the thing during my 5 hour search for my cellphone.

I still owe you all that PW origins draft. if you are a fan of things like

That's good Vancon. its been a while since ive seen you on here.
I wanted you opinion on a "Before Atlas" RP, one where my nation
is still divided by bi-ethnic/culturalism and 2 intergovernmental
alliances. I would lead the first RP but I was hoping you would
be interested in possibly hosting the sequels in locations and years of your
choice.

Thought this whole thing would be a fun exercise where we all could explore
our nation's pasts and a way for everyone to practice coordination while
keeping things simple.

So you want to make an origin story for your spec-ops group? I don't know how you'd RP that, and in your case I'd write it out like a story so you can have your history your way.

I'd be willing to look at your idea, but frankly I don't think it'd be the best thing to RP.

Now, if you wanted to make an RP where your dudes are controlled by people, now that may work.

Around that timeframe I was either still using Mosin-Nagant 'Commando-Carbines' and Lebel rifles, or limited quantities of SKS and RPD supported by SVT-40s in my Naval Infantry Raider units while experimenting with chest-rigs and armor-plates.

Not exactly. well.. I was thinking bigger. roughly 2 weeks ago, I had mentioned an Idea
of a Project Warfighter, one where your average operator would look like

rather than

In short, it would be a series of a few RPs of how Atlas was inspired and possibly the founding of a predecessor group.

heh Hurti. I got a good laugh out of the "Plywood" thing.

I wont force you to go that far tech-wise. For my first and only OP for this
set, I was thinking of a 75'-90' time frame. You can drop your SKS for
a AK-74M . That stated, an somewhat NPC of mine primarily uses the SKS.

(PS. the last post was a reply to Vancon :? . should have stated that earlier)

It'd be easier if our OP was active to update the OP. then it'd be much easier to access.

@Van: TG coming your way soon.

@Hurti and Drek: I think it's a great idea, this "Origin of TF Atlas" or something that came before Atlas. It'd make a nice little Pre-Modern Tech roleplay. I won't participate in it, but I think the story would be helpful and I feel that there are people who'd want to be in it. Welcome back, Drek, BTW.

@ISAF: Yep. We make a pretty good soundboard, well, if you want to count "soundboard" as my Sig's quote from Farmy, because it's accurate.

Good morning, Lads and Gents.

I had a wondering. During Necropolis, it was discussed OOC and touched on IC that there was a fleet-based HQ for Atlas made up of Emmerian ships and supplemented by Remnant ships. In NEC's absence and the death of Necropolis, I made a super-quick summary on the Caesar thread of what happened aboard the Revelations. I godmodded slightly, so sue me.

But now to my wondering: Would we want to keep up this naval base of operations for future operations, if for anything other than backstory and a reason for why we're so coordinated? If so, what would this fleet aspect of TF Atlas consist of? I'm still up for taking over Emmy's spot as center, but anyone would be invited to "donate" to the fleet to make a small naval contingent of TF Atlas where all of our mysterious airdrop and airsupport gubbins come from when they're mentioned.

Well, I never expect this to be anything more than it was in Necropolis; A semi-nebulous group of naval and support units that assist on-the-job TF Atlas personnel no matter where they are.

By that I mean, I don't want detailed TOEs or OrBats, just a "Hey, my nation will help out." It's probably always going to be a nebulous thing unless that changes, which is possible, but up to Caesar in the timeline, it's pseudo-relevant. Maybe it'll show up in concrete later or maybe it'll appear partially in the PW: Origins timeline that Drek is building.

.... It might fit well on the New Guys thread PW:FNG thread that may or may not be coming together, thanks to a collaborative effort between DEN and... One of the newer guys who's name hasn't been burned into my mind yet. Sorry, still morning.

I wrote all this out like this just to keep everyone up to date with the happenings and future happenings of Project Warfighter.

My nation has MAAPSs (Mobile Airborne All Purpose Structures), which are basically large reconfigurable airships. I frequently use them for the Platinum Soldiers, because they are large enough to make good bases of operations, but also faster than ships and can travel over land as well as sea. I can probably contribute one or two once I update their factbook a bit (statistics like max flight speed, max altitude, crew, etc).

Personally, on that issue, I have a rather novel idea.

My idea is that we, as a group, pitched together to build a carrier or two, using designs from each of our nations, including data for offense and defense systems. It would make it truly formidable. Now, we could all donate escort ships, but we should never make one nation supply a capital ship when it could be used elsewhere. Why not spread the resources?

End result was a Portal/Catch-22 lovechild.
So, to cover the odd stuff:
-Reduces RCS by using polarized slits on a radar-transparent skin surrounded any number of radar-reflective surfaces. (compared to solid sheeting or hitting a "perfect reflector" through transparent frame).
-Same 'slits' are also thermal conductors to carry heat away from the leading-edge
-Active water-cooling/de-icing of wing
-The engine is mostly fiberglass, 'carbon' and/or glass coated in aluminum sheeting, wear-sensitive parts are teflon-coated (rather than using sintered "self-lubricating" titanium bearings).
-Mini-fridge treated as crewman, otherwise cabin is nearly identical to Su-34
-Massive wing-glove to simplify placement of most weapons hardpoints
-Butterfly tail assembly, may be a tad too radical for a swing-wing.
-Can "supercruise" at sea level for short periods of time (techincally water-injection doesn't count) in spite of its apparently heat-intollerant construction
-Has radar strong enough to melt its own nosecone on a humid day.
-Can land on a paved highway after some preparation (wingspan is issue).

The People's Republic of Hurtful Thoughts is a gargantuan, environmentally stunning nation, ruled by Leader with an even hand, and renowned for its compulsory military service, multi-spousal wedding ceremonies, and smutty television.
