Preliminary Statement From The Commonwealth Colonial Authority

The Commonwealth Colonial Authority wishes to issue a preliminary statement regarding recent events in the Mordent Conflict.

The 'GodRod' Strike on Imbrinium forces was NOT carried out with the consent nor knowledge of the CCA.

Further more the CCA wishes to make clear that whilst the Royal Space Force does form the bulk of the CCA's space assets it is still a branch of the Morridane Armed Forces and as such acts on orders given to it by Her Serenity's Government rather than the CCA Steering Committee.

The CCA is also disappointed with the departure of the Holy Empire of Stevid, but hopes the Holy Empire would consider possible partnerships on future projects.

The CCA Steering Committee admits that a review of the CCA Charter is urgently needed in light of recent events and shall be launching an inquiry into the matter soon. In addition the Steering Committee wishes to convene with the other space powers of Greater Dienstad with a view to draw up a treaty on regional activities in space.

MORDENT EXCLUSION ZONE DECLARED

MORRDUN - Her Serenity's Morridane Government has declared a total exclusion zone round the Gulf of Mordent following the atomic bombing of Lindun.

As of the newly formed 'Mordent Patrol' warships from the Royal Morridane Navy and aircraft from RMAF Coastal Command will enforce an effective blockade round waters affected by radioactive fallout. In addition fishing vessels are requested to submit to boardings by RMN inspection teams to monitor fish stocks and detect contaminations as quickly as possible, though the Admiralty will be offering compensation for any catches seized due to contamination.

ALL civilian vessels are expected to comply with orders from RMN warships to avoid areas affected by nuclear fallout.

State Defense at The Speed of Light; Haishan Defense Ministry Unveil New Plans

Defense Ministry spokeperson Tachi-Korov unveiled that the Ministry and Haize Armed Forces are currently developing a joint national aerospace defense system that uses lasers instead of guns or missiles. Codenamed as ZDA-2, the Ministry disclosed that it will involve fleets of airborne platforms, stationed in strategical orbits over Haishan such as near major population centers.

Haize Armed Forces also commented that ZDA-2 is without parallel in the world because its entire engagement cycle occurs at lightspeed including interception of deadly targets such as nuclear armed cruise missiles.

Other parts of Haishan commented elsewhere; Haishan Trade Bureau highlighted that ZDA-2 may found or trigger civillian applications such as telecommunications given it is possible to send data via pulses of light as it is possible to direct destructive light to uncooperative targets.

As ZDA-2 aims to cover entirety of Haishan, Haishan may have additional communication lines in addition of land based optical networks which the former posit lower costs as it can reconfigured in real time unlike fixed land lines.

What is not clear is how ZDA-2 complex will be structured for its eventual mission as Haishan is more than two million kilometers of area but what was confirmed is the components of the system will be distributed in proximity or within limits of Haize major cities. Defence.net postulated that ZDA-2 may serve as stepping stone for much anticipitated SCNS constellation given the similarities between the two albeit SCNS is expected to chiefly perform as communication network.

EXODUS AS CIVIL UNREST RISES IN MORDENT

MORDENT - Following the atomic destruction of the city of Lindun by the Kingdom of Imbrinium a large portion of Mordent's surviving population prepare to leave as civil unrest grows against the continuing Imbrinium occupation of so-called 'East Mordent'.

The civil resentment to the Kingdom's occupation dates back to the initial Imbrinium invasion of Mordent and has seen eruptions of mass protests and even rioting against Imbrinium rule, one incident of note was when Lindun was engulfed by widespread riots that saw the temporary eviction of Imbrinium forces before order was restored a few days later by the Royal Mordent Constabulary. Even after 'West' Mordent was handed back to the Commonwealth there was still resentment amongst the native population against continued Imbrinium rule in the 'East' that took form in both frequent protests and guerilla warfare by various Mordent militant groups. During the recent fighting a militant group briefly took control of the Guildhall in Fort Bainsbury and hoisted the Commonwealth Jack, there was even reports of bombing attacks on Imbrinium forces. Now with Lindun's destruction Mordent's natives now hold an even worse opinion of the Kingdom.

Amidst ever growing calls from the Mordentish for an end to the Imbrinium occupation, a number of survivors from both East and West are leaving the island to go live with distant relatives in New Garrack and Morrdh itself. Commonwealth relief efforts in Mordent are said to be nearly overwhelmed by the sheer number of people who wish to leave, the Morridane Army has had to deploy soldiers away from relief efforts just to keep order. It is understood that the Commonwealth has been commandeering extra passenger vessels under the Reserve Assets Act to help deal with the exodus, particularly since a number of survivors are fearful of further actions by the Imbriniums which is pushing the situation in Mordent onto a paranoia induced knife-edge. Therefore it is not surprising that the Morridane government has requested a joint Lyran-Lamonian force in Mordent which many widely believe is insurance against possible actions by the Imbriniums.

What of the present Imbrinium position in Mordent?

The Kingdom suffered severe casualties and its forces have been mauled during the recent fighting, particularly after the GodRod strike that completely wiped out a number of Imbrinium divisions. It is also worth mentioning that they lost a good portion of their navy during previous combat with the Stevidians, plus their massed air attack on Morrdh itself was decimated by aircraft RMAF Fighter Command. They are certainly weakened military wise and their hold on Mordent is not as firm as it was even that Commonwealth forces advanced into sight of Fort Bainsbury before the current ceasefire and they are faced with unrest from an ever resentful civilian population. Time will tell how much longer the Imbrinium occupation of Mordent will last.

"This detestable action by the Bendians cannot be withstood for longer, and it is simply proper that even if it's just a piece of Sabine land we must take it back from the Bendians. We cannot allow for more of the Sabines to be killed, or else the Bendians might just as well exterminate the Sabine people altogether. DO you want your invasion to fail? Because that is how you make it fail. We condemn the actions of the Bendians and we urge them to stop not only the massacre and the use of human shields, but also their invasion of the Sabine territory."

A video footage of the declaration of the massacre has been uploaded to YouTube and has gained so far 10,000 views within the first 8 hours and the viewing count is still rising by the second, with derogatory comments aimed against the Bendians.

Student Uses Palmyrian Flag to Mop Floor, Draws Netizens' Ire

Bandila, Palmyrion - A student of the University of Palmyrion - Bandila Campus earned the ire of many netizens after he used the national flag of Palmyrion to mop a floor.

The video uploaded by Palmyrian netizens showed a male student mopping the floor using a Palmyrian flag tied to a stick, and as of this article's publication, the video has earned 1 billion views and 300,000 shares not only in Palmyrion but also worldwide.

In the 35-second video, some people were heard laughing while an expletive was heard said by another person. The flag was even soaked in water.

Any act of disrespect to the flag is prohibited and punishable under Federal Law 9745, or "The Law Prescribing the Code of the National Flag, Anthem, Motto, Coat of Arms, and other Heraldic Items and Devices of the United Federation of Palmyrion", the punishment of which is included in the law.

Section 2 of the law states that "Reverence and respect shall at all times be accorded to the flag, the anthem, and other national symbols of the United Federation which embody Palmyrion's national ideals, traditions, and the expression of the sovereignty and the national solidarity of the United Federation."

A fine of G5,000 - G20,000, or an imprisonment of exactly 1 year, or both, will be imposed on violators of the law.

Benevolencia, Palmyrion - Just this 11:00 AM, Palmyrian Standard Time, police have unleashed a massive surprise raid targeting known pornography producers in Palmyrion. Armed with assault rifles, clad in armor, and with flashbangs, the pornography directors were easily subdued by the Palmyrian Gendarmerie. The mass arrest involved the arrest of 1.2 million pornography producers and the mobilization of entire Palmyrian Gendarmerie Provincial Corps units.

"This has got to be the largest mass arrest in Palmyrion so far." says the Supreme Provost Marshall of the Palmyrian Gendarmerie, SPM Gayle Michael Nikaro. "The amount of arrested have never reached the one million mark until this one, and never has it been this brutal."

Arrests concluded with the pornography directors being transported en masse to Gendarmerie prison bases, with some on vehicles, the others on foot, guarded by convoys and aerial patrols from the Palmyrian Army and Gendarmerie. However the government is planning for a shame parade and a condemnation speech by the president for the captured pornography directors.

"These inglorious men have tried to undermine the morals that the United Federation lives, feeds, breathes, and breeds on, corrupting the meaning of love by exploiting both sexes to make a distorted perception of love readily available to the masses." the President has said. The shame parade is scheduled to happen at 7:00 PM of today.

Meanwhile porn performers were immediately referred to recovery programs offered by both the state and private individuals. An estimated 20 million porn performers have been rescued and are now on their way to recovery, and in the process many stories of the dark side of the porn industry have been revealed.

"I said no since it was in my no-list, but they forced me too. As a consequence of resisting they had me shoot with a man who punched my buttocks occasionally during the shooting." a female porn performer of undisclosed name said. "Another instance was when they made me shoot a rape video, something which was already beyond what I can withstand. No lube, no stimulation, nothing." she added.

The action of the Palmyrian government has triggered a massive public outcry from all walks of life. Porn House, a foreign pornography website, expressed their concern and outrage for the action.

"Porn House wishes the arrested pornography producers good health in the hands of oppressive anti-porn conservatives. We also wish to express our condolences to those who had their loved ones locked up behind bars for the absurd fact that they were pornography directors. Porn House does not destroy love - it promotes it. The government does not just see that, being highly bigoted and biased in its decisions." the CEO of Porn House said.

"The pornography industry is a trillion-dollar black market industry, and it harms all people-it harms the performer, it harms the viewer, and at times the porn director cannot stand the harm and so leaves the industry." the Supreme Provost Marshall said.

Under Federal Law #10056, being a pornography director is tantamount to the death sentence once proven, and recruiting performers for porn is an unbailable offense that can see one arrested for 40 years at most.

Tempers flared in the Mejican Parliament when a recent political movement managed to take the stage. Representative Alejandro Tennent of the Mejican Province of Arizona, while giving a speech in favor of a separate Bill, chose to request his fellow Representatives to support bill 784.290, Dissolution of Tatom from Mejico. The Speaker of the House told Mr. Tennant to stay on topic before booting him from the podium. While various versions of this Bill have been in circulation since the founding of the Federation. It wasn't until Belmotin was given Equal Nationhood within the Federation did the recent Nationalist movement take hold.

The Tatom Nationalist Movement, who's original aim was to liberate Tatom from Mejico after their original annexation, has recently revived itself as a political movement to give the Morridane-Mokan minority in North Mejico equal representation in Federal politics. If Tatom was allowed to cede from Mejico, it would be up to the Federal Senate to decide if they were to be reunited as a colony or full member Nation.

For those unfamiliar, Tatom was once an independent nation of five states(Alta California, California, Arizona, Alta Isla, Hierro Isla) called the United States of Tatom. It was in a state of civil war between communists and Nationalist at the turn of the century. The Nation of Mejico, though only recently reformed itself, invaded and annexed the territory, giving a sense of National Pride to the rebuilt Mejican Nation. Tatom was reorganized into one province, but soon was split into two providence in Mejico: California and Arizona.

Coastguard Gets Carrier

MORRDUN - The Morridane Admiralty has confirmed the transfer of a light aircraft carrier to the Royal Morridane Coastguard.

Centaur-class aircraft carrier HSS Argus, presently in service as a so-called 'commando carrier', is the vessel in question that is being transferred to the Coastguard where it'll be renamed MCGS Preserver after it has completed a refit. Already technically a helicopter carrier, the vessel's refit involves enlarging its infirmary and the installation of equipment to help it in its new search and rescue role with the Coastguard. Once in service it'll give the Coastguard a huge boost as it'll extend the range of their helicopters and is envisioned to act as a command ship during major rescue operations. Proving that the vessel is successful in her new role it is hoped that further carriers will be transferred over to the Coastguard.

Haishan Defense Ministry spokesperson Tachi-Korov recently announced a new State Rearmament program being an official continuation of Haize Armed Forces' deep modernization exercise. The program is slated to not only result in new equipment but also new operating paradigms and conceptual doctrines in light of turbulent times facing Greater Dienstad today.

In terms of doctrinal restructuring and alignment, Defense Ministry spokespersons outlined several key details as listed below in order to shape Haize Armed Forces into a competent global force.

Dissolution of Haize People Air Forces with former components absorbed into respective Services of Haize Armed Forces.
Restructuring of Haize People Naval Forces to enable global reach and presence.
Formation of independent organic air defense groupings for Haize Ground Army Contingent.
Handover of Haize People Air Forces' spaceborne assets to Haize Interstellar Armed Forces.
Integration of space defense element to Haize Aerospace Defense Contingent. The Service was renamed to Haize Aerospace Defense Forces as consequence.

Haishan Defense Ministry additionally disclosed that defense expenditure for Haize Armed Forces will be raised in significant digits compared to yesteryear, in line with the thorough rearmament program. What isn't clear from this sudden announcement is the extent of the program counting on secretive nature of Haize Armed Forces but it is certain that the pride of Haishan will turn out rather different and more aware than previously.

Certain quarters also appreciated the move, saying such overhaul was overly needed by factoring the aging state of Haize equipment. Nevertheless, the Haize Armed Forces will be finally able to stand shoulder to shoulder with the region's more modern Armed Forces.

National Police Capture Top Cartel Lieutenant Jaime Gaviria

Earlier this morning, at approximately 03:30am, in a daring raid by National Police Special Operations Group operators, notorious Chaquito Cartel lieutenant Jaime Gaviria was successfully apprehended.

Hiding in an extravagant villa high in the southern mountains and concealed by dense tropical rainforest, Gaviria’s location had been the subject of an intense investigation for more than a year. Recent drug running shipments to Mokastana intercepted by Naval patrol units gradually leaked information which, in a cascading effect, led police to determine the whereabouts of this infamous criminal. The investigation itself, conducted by the Val Verdano National Police, involved tens of thousands of man hours interrogating prisoners and sifting through captured documents in order to pinpoint the location of critical Chaquito Cartel leaders.

One such shipment however contained a lucky break for the Verdano police, in the form of a captured cell phone which had inadvertently left its own GPS device active. Back tracking the data from the phone, police were able to find exact grid coordinates of the Cartel lieutenant’s mountain home. Once the location was established, night time UAV flybys confirmed the location and identity of its residents. Police Colonel Gustavo Méndez, one of the chief investigators into the Cartels, immediately began preparing an operations plan to seize Gaviria.

With a plan ready, President Echeverría was quick to approve the operation.

The raid was conducted by three teams of SOG operators, who inserted into the region by helicopter and attacked the villa from all sides, neutralizing sicario bodyguards before managing to force Gaviria’s surrender. While eight sicario have been confirmed to have been killed, and six more arrested, no casualties are being reported on the part of the police.

Gaviria, one of the chief lieutenants of the Chaquito Cartel, is the first major player in the drug business to be successfully apprehended as part of President Echeverría’s campaign against the Cartels. The President, in a press conference, stated triumphantly that, ‘Today Val Verde has its first major victory in this war against criminal enterprise and violence. We now have tangible proof that it shall be the rule of law, and not corruption, which shall govern this great nation.’

‘This is but the beginning, though,’ President Echeverría continued. ‘The Cartels still exist, and while this is so we must remain vigilant and dedicated to the cause. The age of Cartel dominance of Verdano life is waning, and soon shall be stamped out forever by our brave police and military.’

While no doubt the National Police are celebrating this much needed victory, Raphael Bichir, the reputed crime lord of the Chaquito Cartel, still remains elusive. Colonel Méndez has stated that ‘locating Bichir is now priority number one,’ and that ‘we will continue to work hard to bring him to justice for his many crimes.’

Obey all local, regional, and State authorities. The State Reservist Corps has been mobilized to assist local and regional authorities in evacuations and peacekeeping.

This is not a drill. This is a NATIONAL EMERGENCY. All television, radio, and internet media will cease regular programming to broadcast this message.
