Zhouran Central News Agency 1/22/XX Zhouran To Not Intervene In US-China Sea Spat Ministry of External Affairs says that Zhouran won't be embroiled in US-China Sea Spat Top: The Type 2009 Taifeng-class guided-missile destroyer "Shadows of Eternal Damnation" Today a spokesperson for the Ministry of External Affairs said that the People's Republic of Zhouran "will not get embroiled in the current spat between the United States and China" involving Beijing's protest of an American warship passing near a Chinese-controlled shoal also claimed by the Philippines. The spokesperson stated "both China and the United States can take care of their own national interests" and added "because of our policy on non-aligned neutrality, we do not wish to be part of a US-China conflict" in the disputed South China Sea. A spokesperson for the Ministry of Defense said yesterday that the ZPA Navy will continue to observe and patrol the South China Sea as such operations are "not about any one country, nor are they about making political statements" and instead the aim is to "demonstrate Zhouran's commitment to uphold the rights, freedoms and lawful uses of the sea and airspace guaranteed to all nations under international law". Scarborough is known in Mainland China as Huangyan Island and called Panatag or Bajo de Masinloc by the Philippines.
